A matter of Jupiter-Neptune (Marcial Maciel Degollado and his popes)

Father Marcial Maciel Degollado abused his wife (!), his children and other men's children all the time that he was a priest in Mexico, and it seems that Pope John Paul 2 knew about it. But what if this became common knowledge? Marcial Maciel Degollado also founded Regnum Christi and the Legion of Christ. He was an important man in church and seems to have been rich, too..For whatever reason Marcial Maciel Degollado could continue his practices for decades.


Here is the chart. The transits are the positions on the day of birth of John Paul 2.

First of all: there is a Venus sesquisquare Pluto. It is not uncommon to see an afflicted Venus-Pluto in the chart of abusers in the Roman Catholic Church. See the post for more examples. When the church found out about his sexual behaviour, they didn't really stop him. But I doubt that the former pope approved of his behaviour.

SYNASTRY WITH JP2
JP2s Saturn is inconjunct Marcial's Mercury and his Mercury is opposition the Node of Marcial. Also his Neptune is square the Mars of Marcial. However, the pope and the bad priest shared Jupiter conjunct Neptune, and one of the possible effect of that combination is hiding big secrets and escapism. Jupiter-Neptune is the combination that all priests and monks and popes seem to share somehow, in various ways. It is a perfect combination for the catholic church, too, and for protecting (Jupiter) belief (Neptune). And...

SYNASTRY WITH BENEDICT
Pope Benedict has the same conjunction in his chart! Also, his Jupiter is conjunct the natal Sun of Marcial. That is usually a sign of protection. He started an investigation, indeed  (but Marcial was already dead!; he died in 2008). That makes you wonder about the Jupiter-effect of protection...He could have surrendered Marcial to the police, immediately. Very interesting is, that there is also Saturn square Saturn in synastry (conflicting responsibilities).  Pope Benedict's most important planets are Saturn (elevated) and Jupiter (conjunct Ascendant).

The pope protected him (Jupiter) and he punished him, too (Saturn; he was sent to a convent).Those two prominent planets were in aspect with the Sun and Saturn of Degollado. One is for restrictions and one is for protection. Or Jupiter should not mean to be Jupiter (the helper, the consultant) in this case...Degollado got away with it. That is what is sure...
