Swinging Gemini, using hands and feet

On Thursday May 21, 2015 the sun entered the astrological sign Gemini. It is the 'handy' sign, excellent for anything that you need to do using hand and feet at the same time. What? Well, dancing, playing tennis or cricket. Gemini is also the sign of gestures (using hands and mouth at the same time:).
This doesn't mean that any Gemini could play at Wimbledon or will be seen on TV in 'So you think you can dance'. And it is also not true that anyone who does, is a Gemini. In fact, some of them don't have any planet in Gemini at all. For example: Serena William. She is a top tennis player. Gemini is on her 2nd house cusp and Mercury (ruler of Gemini) is right opposite her Taurus (uh?) Ascendant. Even Agassi lacked support of Gemini. But, in order not to shame astrology, Roger Federer has a Midheaven in Gemini, just like cricket player Sourav Ganguly. Mr. Gangly also has Mercury in Gemini as final dispositor - ruler - of the Midheaven routing, as a strong statement. You'd almost think that Serena William shouldn't have been a tennis player at all:)
Of course, that is a joke. It is very hard to link charts to exact jobs. You also have to include backgrounds, social status and culture. In Serena Williams' case, the father pushed all of his children to become a tennis player. He managed to succeed with Serena's elderly sister Venus. And she's a Gemini! Serene has Sun/Moon in hard aspect with Ceres (symbol of genes, dynasties) and so she was motivated by family. I'm glad to have found the Gemini way, here.
Bob Hewitt is an Australian born tennis player. He was convicted last week for raping six of his pupils. He was born on January 12,  1940. Check that ephemeris and you'll see: not a tiny little bit of Gemini on that day. Perhaps it is the hour and place of birth (MC, Ascendant), just like the rapist. Although Mars in Aries trine Pluto COULD be used to win and conquer with extreme drive in a sexual way.
A besides about Hewitt. His chart, transits and progressions are mirroring the effect of resonance that I mentioned on this blog before. When you have a certain aspect in the natal chart and a transit or progression connects the same planets or points as in the birth chart, this transit or progression will manifest in a strong way. He has a natal Saturn inconjunct Neptune and opposition Node. It is the combination of involuntary detachment, (see the post) related to groups of people (like in a hospital or prison). Right now there are minor aspects repeating the natal combination. Transit Neptune is semi square Saturn. Transit Node was quindecile Saturn on the day of his conviction. Those aspects are considered to be generational aspects (because a lot of people born in the same period have them). Only if there are more indications in the same direction and when Saturn, Neptune or Node have a special place in the chart (for example: on an angle), you may expect that the Saturn-Neptune-Node theme will be mirrored in your life somehow. It might be the case in the chart of Hewitt, or it would be just coincidental that he faces a not wanted isolation now.
Just like Hewitt I don't have any Gemini planet in the natal chart. Everybody has a house cusp with Gemini on it. In my chart it is the 4th house. I like to live where there are shops, in a city or not to far from the busy road. I lived in an apartment above a mall twice. But I don't play tennis. And I don't dance!
I had a friend once, a Gemini, who persuaded me to join her on a cruise to Norway. She had been on cruises in the Caribbean before and expected to dance, dance and dance all day. But, the public on the ship we sailed on was quite different (grey hair, looking for culture and loving jazz and classics) so that the disco was empty and cold and she was in bad and sad mood. I, on the contrary, enjoyed myself. I am not fond of dancing in public (no Gemini, no!). It is rather amazing that I met my husband on a dance floor (but OK, I was young), because when we decided to learn how to dance (style dancing, I mean) we had to cover the floor with paper feet to know where to stand on! He doesn't have Gemini planets either!
In the progressed chart, however, I have an Ascendant Gemini and that is nice, when you are getting older. They say that Gemini Ascendants look younger than they are and remain mentally active. What will happen to my blog when my Progressed Ascendant moves into Taurus, I wonder? Perhaps I'll move to the country:) Anyway, meanwhile I will try to be more swinging and keep blogging in accordance to the Progressed Ascendant. Gemini swings! Just consider the fact that the Sun/Moon midpoint in Michael Jackson's chart was in Gemini, too...
PS I noticed a group of Gemini Dancers http://www.geminidancers.co.uk and here you can learn how to dance http://www.dancegemini.co.uk

Ailments: Transit Chiron conjunct Ascendant

During several months transit Chiron has been conjunct my Ascendant and in fact: that is where Chiron still is. It won't take long, he will be gone in a few weeks. I am grateful that Chiron won't be back! Because, in the past months there have been many ailments that I like to contribute to Chiron. I hope that if he moves on, so will the ailments!:)

From last summer till now I have constantly been unable to do what I wanted because of a continuing flood of illness and accidents. I won't mention them all here, but it is a range of ailments from feet to ear and all that is in between, from spring 2011 till now. Of course, as I always say, there is more needed to reflect illnesses and there is (like Saturn square my Mars and Saturn inconjunct progressed Mars, for example; limiting energy). Transits of those kind of symbols should move faster, as far as I'm concerned:). Ailments are not as bad as life threatening diseases, but one can do without...

Many astrologers speak of important lessons to learn during bad transits.  I would have wanted a speedy training instead of this. I also believe that there are lessons to learn by means of blessings! So, what is the lesson (if there is any)? If it was a lesson, the teacher forget to give a clue. I have been ill before (and worse), so I don't need Chiron to tell me about vulnerabilities:). If, when Chiron leaving my ascendant, it is examination time, I know that I will fail.

The question is: am I right about ailments and Chiron or is it just me?

This transit Chiron conjunct Ascendant doesn't happen often. Not everybody will experience this transit, it is a privilege! It took Chiron almost a life time to travel trough the zodiac signs.
Have you ever had transit Chiron conjunct the Ascendant? See the list...Now here comes the question: did you notice an increasing amount of ailments in that period? Please do the poll.

Saturn-Ascendant, size and Napoleon Bonaparte

Saturn seems to reflect reduced sizes. I first wondered why, since Saturn is the symbol of ambition, too. But then I remembered Napoleon Bonaparte, a small man, they say, with a lot of ambition to expand. I know of three other persons with Saturn close to the Ascendant and they are smaller than usual or don't seem to grow. I know two of them in person. And there is Bono (U2, 1.69m), who has the same seize as Napoleon. The frustrating thing was, however, that Napoleon's chart does not have Saturn on the Ascendant. He has Saturn rising before the Sun. So, I thought, either his chart is not correct (but it is an A-rated chart, though Astrotheme gives 11.00 sharp), or his size is not. I started googling 'Napoleon size' and I was relieved to find the answer to the question how tall Napoleon really was, here... The metric system hadn't been invented yet and there was a difference in French and English 'feet'. Napoleon was not short at all, there was a shortage in communications. In his days he was, in fact, rather tall!
So Saturn conjunct Ascendant is still standing for reducing size. Unless you have a lot of examples of the contrary, of course.

Here is Napoleon's chart:
Did you, BTW, notice that his Sun is 'calling' (not making major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees)? That is the signal of a person who wants to lead or draw attention, somehow, anyhow. He got what he wanted...I already mentioned the fact that Saturn is rising before his Sun. That shows ambition and points at the importance of management, administration...And  see Quaoar opposition Midheaven: he sure created a new reality in history...The grand trine between Mars, Uranus and Pluto points at successful revolutionary action. The chart of Napoleon Bonaparte shows the man that he was: first of all a man with ambition and a leader at any possible level, with the ability to act by surprise and the goal to create new perspective in his career and position. But it is also interesting to see the afflictions between Mars, Saturn and Pholus. I have seen this combination before. It means a depressing turning point in a battle. Eventually he came to Waterloo...

Pluto/Ascendant/Midheaven midpoint combinations

Pluto is the symbol of strategy, influence, authority and intensity. Ascendant/Midheaven (AC/MC) is the most individual midpoint, at the cross point of longitude and latitude degree, where you were born. Your situation and condition and destiny is revealed by the aspects with AC/MC. What’s your goal and how is your environment and where do they (the objectives and the situation) come together: at AC/MC midpoint. Any aspect with AC/MC midpoint is of crucial importance and clarifies more about you.

When Pluto is part of a midpoint combination with Ascendant and Midheaven you are not superficial; you are a fanatic and tend to dive deep into your life goals. You may be a specialist or an authority, fascinating or impressing. It very much depends on the rest of the chart whether the influence will be at larger scale. One of the other possible meanings of this midpoint combination is a complete transformation in life, for example when somebody suddenly becomes rich or famous or ...the opposite of this. Transits of Pluto with the angles often occur in times of stress and challenges. Natal Pluto/AC/MC combinations could be the reflection of stress at birth and the impact on the personality later. My examples are Billy Graham (Pluto/MC = AC) and Indira Ghandi (Pluto/AC square MC).

LINK
Transits of Pluto with Midheaven, Ascendant or AC/MC reveal a lot of the meaning of Pluto/AC/MC combinations. I quote:
Transits of Pluto with Midheaven or Ascendant intensify the way that you see your relationships, your situation and your status, reputation or condition. The other transits and progressions show in what way you are being 'challenged' or 'stressed'.

Northern Node/AC/MC midpoint combinations

When there is a midpoint combination of Node, Ascendant and Midheaven the family, nation or community put their marks on your situation and personality and define your destination. Or: the situation of a group of people (family, tribe, nation) depends on you. This combination occurs in the chart of John F. Kennedy and evil doctor Mengele. The Kennedy's of course influenced the career of JFK and Mengele was one of many Nazi's. The combination just means that you are associated with people who share your goals or that you share the goals of a group of persons.

Also visit: Astromarkt.net for example about Sun/Moon and AC/MC midpoint combinations. That is where I mentioned this midpoint combination as: 'the crucial importance of the people around you'.

There are various ways to link the Northern Node to Midheaven. Barack Obama for example has Node square Midheaven.

Camilla's broken leg

The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, married to Prince Charles, broke or at least injured her leg. This happened yesterday when she was hillwalking, even though it was a bit slippery. This is just a B-rated chart, but it has Mars on the Ascendant, very much in line with an accident, an injury and pain. Mars is also square her progressed Moon (exactly square Ascendant). Any Progressed Moon in Scorpio square Mars and Ascendant is showing that it is no time for overdoing things, but I bet that she had not seen her horoscope today. The situation (Ascendant) did the rest.

Obama, Nobel Prize and smoking

One year ago I wrote about the smoker in the chart of Barack Hussein Obama, President of the USA and I found at least three reasons for addiction (see the link for an explication):

1. Neptune on top, square Sun
2. Moon afflicted by Pluto
3. Mars afflicted by Neptune
I also found a good moment to quit smoking. I noticed that Jupiter was going to pass his Ascendant. That is a fortunate transit...And, guess what happened? He was rewarded the Nobel Prize and he accepted that prize today. Very, very Jupiter (trip abroad, a success, applause!). But, did he give up smoking? I read that he fell back and is still smoking.

Now let's not be depressed about that. When I gave up smoking it was AFTER the passage of Jupiter over the Ascendant, with Jupiter in the first house, because it was AFTER getting good advice about ' how to quit' It is almost time to make up your mind about 2010, isn't it? If you plan to quit smoking, here is the advice that I got when I met mr. Jupiter himself in the woods, walking the dog. He was about 80, walking alone, looked at me, greeted and asked if I smoked. I admitted, and he told me that he had quit 20 years ago and that was what saved his life. See me, he said, I am still walking on my own! But I cannot, I said, I tried but I can't. Then he adviced me to ask the persons who love me if they would be pleased if I stopped smoking and if they would help me do it. OK, I said, I smiled and I walked on. A minute later I tried to find him back to say thanks again, realising that this kind of advice was MY kind of advice but he was gone! I followed his advice, they all supported me (Jupiter is for support) and I haven't smoked since April 3, 1986. If he can see me: TXS, mr. Jupiter!:)

What if Obama just asked his girls?..

Chart of Serena Williams explaining behaviour?

Serena Williams didn’t take it well when she lost her placement for the US Open Finale (see the You Tube video). She smashed her racket and looked aggressive. Emotions seemed not to be in control. How could that happen? Does her chart explain the behaviour? Yes it does! She is first of all following her emotions (Moon rising before the Sun) and right now the progressed Moon is in the final degree of a sign, without aspects. Emotions are being highlighted. Behaviour (the way that you do things) is also symbolized by the Ascendant. The natal Ascendant is inconjunct her natal Sun: 'starlike' behaviour that is not always been accepted by the outside world, just like now...

It is easy to see the star in this chart and the strong will to be a winner (‘calling’ Sun and Pluto are both in aspect with AC/MC, for example). It is also easy to combine circumstances (training all her life), genes (her sister is also a tennis player) and the chart to get a super star. Speaking of stars: how about the effect of Sharatan? Here is more about the chart of Serena Williams...

MOON for MOODS
The Moon is rising before her Sun and is square Neptune. She may be overly sensitive. In the progressed chart the Moon is in the final degree of Virgo, a Void Moon opposition Aries Point. Emotions – at any level, moods – are shown to the public…

MERCURY for COMMUNICATIONS
Mercury is on the Descendant and not making major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees: this is reflecting ‘communicating at any possible level’.

MARS for FIGHTING
Mars is inconjunct Midheaven: sport and enterprise, but…it costs energy or involves aggression (too much).

SUN for STAR
Her natal Sun doesn’t make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees: it is a ‘calling’ Sun, drawing attention at any possible level. The inconjunction is reflecting the risk to loose balance. And the Ascendant is the gate to the outside world. Sun inconjunct Ascendant: arrogance and possible lost of honour are two of the interpretations. The attitude helped her to be a star, perhaps, but the outside world doesn’t always ‘buy’ the starlike airs, even if she IS a star).

SHARATAN
What the drawing above doesn’t show is, that Sharatan is on the Ascendant. The fixed star Sharatan means: violence, defeat, accidents, injury, danger, honors (according to Astrologycom.com). The Ascendant shows how we present ourselves. Serena Williams is a famous top tennis player and honors have come her way. But every professional sports man or woman will be defeated one day. And no one wants to be defeated, so: beat it?:)

Chart of Barack Obama, update

For the second time Barack Obama made a wrong joke. First he offended a former first lady by confusing astrologers with clear voyants, now he compared his bowling abilities with those of a Special Olympics athlete. From time to time he seems to talk too soon. As a president is a 'heavy weight' the words of a president weigh a lot.

Transit Saturn is right now inconjunct his natal Ascendant. Any wrong presentation will be disproportionally in his disadvantage. But, lucky Obama, he also has Jupiter near the Ascendant right now and that is a great help. He is being supported anyway. The combination of Jupiter and Saturn is reflecting ups and downs.

There is an aspect combination active right now that explains the quick and wrong joke. Mercury and Uranus are opposition his natal Mars. Mercury, Mars and Uranus together reflect the quick (and sometimes too quick) answer. His presentation was very sharp, smart and resourceful, but...Saturn was there.

For more about the inconjunction and 'but'...see 'The effect of the inconjunction'.

The exemplary natal chart of Emperor Nero

This is the (real or supposed to be) natal chart of Nero. History tells us that he became emperor by murder and that he was responsible for the death of thousands. Eventually, he died by force, too. His natal chart is a good example of how angular placements*) give the right impression at first sight. I used this chart on my Dutch site Astrostudie (as a test) because it is quite clear what kind of a person owns this kind of a chart and what the effect would be in the first century A.D.

Now look at the chart of Nero. How would you describe a male person with these crucial marks, in thAt moment in history and with thAt kind of power? I indicated the special marks in the chart below.

Notice Sun, Mars and Pluto on the Ascendant with Pluto rising before the Sun and conjunct Sun. Notice Saturn square Ascendant and square Sun, Mars and Pluto. This is not the kind of person that will be unnoticed.

The Mars-Saturn-Pluto combination is a dangerous combination. I have written about the effect of Mars-Saturn-Pluto in the post about the progressions of Barack Obama: "exhaustion, working too hard, having to deal with violent situations or using/abusing violence." And I reported that this combination is frequent in cases of unnatural death causes (as a victim, witness or as murderer), with examples.

This chart is obviously the chart of a very energetic and aggressive person with ambitions. It is someone who provokes resistance against his methods. Why?
- Mars afflicted; possible aggression (and it were aggressive times in history)
- Pluto afflicted; difficult and complicated (making it easy to be a tyrant in those days)
- Sun afflicted; possibly arrogant (and why not, with absolute power)
- Saturn afflicted; possible end to an ambitious career.
- Mars conjunct Pluto; drive to win (even by force or forcing yourself)
- Mars square Saturn; acts against what is decent (or lawful) or fighting against restrictions
- Sun on Ascendant (drawing attention immediately)
- Sun square Saturn (seeing the bad side of life or lifestyle)

Imagine a character with this position in those days and you can see the picture of an absolute tyrant who will eventually meet stronger enemies. Character and consequences are simply defined by the 4 prominent placements and the 1 square between them. You can see the picture in the blink of an eye. I think the chart of Emperor Nero is exemplary.

BTW: Nero thought of himself as a poet. If you are interested in the artist in the chart of Nero, see Art & Astrology.

*)When you see the natal chart as the astrological passport, the special marks are the angular placements. Ascendant, Midheaven and the positions square Ascendant relate the chart to the precise spot and time on earth. Tight angular positions make the difference between THIS one person and all the others born on that day (or place).

Jupiter, the Hudson miracle and the chart of Sully

On Aquarian Solutions I found the date of birth of the heroic pilot of the Hudson miracle, Chesley Burnett 'Sully' Sullenberger III as 23 January 1951, Denison. He is a former military pilot with a prominent Mars and transit Jupiter is on his Sun right now. That makes him a good fighter and do-er with a lot of luck and success today.

THE NATAL CHART
When I see a chart with an unknown hour of birth, I start looking at:

- the elements
- the planets and lights without Ptolemaic aspects
- the tightest aspects

as there are no angular placements to be regarded. There are a lot of observations:

- 70% of the placements were in air and water signs. Air + water = social behaviour (to communicate + to belong)
- Mars didn't make Ptolemaic aspects; the military, the activist, the entrepreneur or sportsman or...the workaholic
- Neptune was the first important (outer) oriental planet; he has an idealistic/ideological orientation or is an artistic person with vision, belief and fantasy. Empathy and compassion are 'ruled' by Neptune
- the Sun was tightly trine Saturn for being a responsible and correct person
- Venus was opposition Pluto and trine Neptune, sesquisquare Uranus, all very tightly. Again, I see possible talent and skills, sensitivity and a desire for alternation (and why not 'live that' as a pilot?).
- Mercury was tightly sextile Jupiter for a bright mind.

All in all this seems to be the profile of a bright, responsible, social and sensitive do-er, someone who will take action. Even without knowing the hour of birth we can see that.

NATAL CHART EXP LANES ACTION
This character is exactly the reason why 'Sully' went back a second time to see if there was any passenger left behind. It is a matter of compassion, responsibility and a strong focus on being courageous (Sun is quindecile Pluto). Accidents and rescues are always a cake baked of ingredients of circumstances, situations and human behaviour. The interaction of the astrological situation and the character of the pilot and HIS situation is being reflected in progressions and transits.

PROGRESSIONS AND TRANSITS
'Sully' is in a transformational period of his life. The progressed Sun changed sign last year. Transit Pluto is square his progressed Sun and trine his progressed Venus (as progressed Sun is also semi sextile Venus). Yesterday Jupiter was conjunct his Sun and trine his Saturn as a sort of blessing his responsible nature and as a support. Jupiter conjunct Sun is an indication for having success. Saturn at the same time was opposition Node and that is reflecting the responsibilities for a group of persons.

Notice that the natal aspect of Sun and Pluto (quindecile) is begin activated by the transit of Pluto with progressed Sun, just like the natal aspect of Venus opposition Pluto.

Later this year Sun will be opposition Saturn, so I wonder if there is a possibility that his career ends or that he will be (partly) blamed for the accident itself. Saturn is tricky and the transit of Jupiter is always fading away too soon...Somehow there will be farewells and goodbyes in his life coming up. As he is in a period of change and owns his own business already, perhaps he will start focusing on his own company.

DEPARTURE AND LANDING (WITH JUPITER

This is the chart for the moment of the landing, about 3 minutes later. The actual ascendant was exactly trine the Jupiter of Sully. I like Jupiter:) Soon after, transit Jupiter is semi square the actual Midheaven and salvation is near.

PS As 'usual' Uranus is elevated in the chart of the moment of the accident. Click on the label 'accident' to find more examples of Uranus position at the time of an accident.
PPS There were no placements in fire signs on the day of the accident and that is indicating that there was energy at any kind of level with strong ups and downs. In a natal chart this has the same strong effect as Mars 'calling'. To read more about missing elements and aspects, see Astromarkt 'Conspicuous in absence'...

GIACOMO CASANOVA
Smooth operator with Mars in Pisces

Casanova was a superman who managed to impress a lot of ladies. He had and has a mythical reputation. He is a real historical controversial person who was very skilled in seduction and getting into trouble (and out again). He had Mars in Pisces. When Mars is in Pisces, action won't be direct. There will be persuasive action and energy to get things done. Mars in Pisces sometimes is a smooth operator, especially when Mars is 'calling'. And his Mars called him! There are no Ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degree with his Mars.

MANIPULATIVE
I think his 'calling' Mars in Pisces, quindecile Pluto opposition Aries Point inconjunct the Ascendant is a perfect description of a sexually/agressively obsessed person with misbalanced behaviour in that matter. He lead a dangerous life and spent months in prison*). Casanova was manipulative. This manipulation goes together with Neptune square Ascendant (a double or dubious presentation).

MYSTERIOUS
Neptune and Pluto both aspected the ascendant and the midpoint Neptune/Pluto is sesquisquare MC: he had a mysterious way of doing things and actually made belief that he had occult powers for a while. And he is still a mythical person.

TALKING ABOUT SEX
Pluto is on the cusp of the eight equal house (inconjunct the Ascendant) and Pluto is opposition Mercury. 'Let us talk about sex', that is the song that comes to my mind, when I see this. But, Casanova did not just talk, as it seems.

ARTIST
Should it be just coincidence that transit Saturn is now square his MC and opposition his Mars? There is also transit Jupiter sextile his prominent Mars. So let me end with saying something nice about the man:). In everything he did, he was an artist. He wrote part of a libretto. He was the son of a violinplayer and his mother was acting! He had an artistic background and music is in his chart. His Sun/Moon semi square Venus and square Uranus tell us that he is in heart and soul a diplomat with artistic aspirations. Undoubtly, Casanova was an artistic, creative person (Venus<>Neptune, dispositors of the Midheaven), Sun/Moon with Venus...
Maybe the 4 planets in Pisces in the first house (Venus, Mars, Mercury and Jupiter) opposition Pluto say enough about having an enormous succes with his stories about passion. It is because of his stories that we know him up till today. The 'calling' lack of placements in air signs may have contributed to that**)
Still, it seems that his adventures were not invented or just fantasy, but real experiences.

See his picture with bedroom eyes and his CV in Wikipedia.
He doesn't look like attractive males of today. For the charts of those males, see:
Post about Happy Valentine (David Beckham)
Actors and politicians and Rudolfo Valentino
Actors playing James Bond
Chart of Brad Pitt

*) Saturn quintile Uranus, ruler Ascendant could be related to his escape from the prison of Inquisition after 15 months of imprisonment. The midpoint ASC/MC is related to Jupiter and Saturn for ups and downs.

PAUL NEWMAN DIED
WITH JUPITER ON THE ASCENDANT

Paul Newman died today with transit Jupiter conjunct Ascendant in a period of a changing progressive sun sign (for a change in life or way of living*). In his natal chart Jupiter is in the 12th, conjunct his Ascendant**). Jupiter is the symbol of the doctor (help), of happiness and the symbol of travelling (passing away). The presence of Jupiter in times of death is not uncommon when suffering ends. See the chart drawing below for more transits and progressions at the time of his death. Click for more about the natal chart and life of Paul Newman

*) Sometimes, in certain circumstances or at a certain age, the progressive sun changing sign terminates life as it was before.
**) At important moment in life (such as death is, for example) natal aspects are being 'activated' by transit or progression. Jupiter-Ascendant with Jupiter in 12 could be considered as a 'way out'. In the study of Ken Gilmore ('Who will survive?')Jupiter on the Ascendant is present in the chart of the survivers of a shooting. They were close to a way out (a door or a room). I have Jupiter on the Ascendant and most of the time in public situations I sit at a place with space (end of the table) or near a doorway. The 'way out' seems to be one of the meanings of the Jupiter-Ascendant combination.

OBESE AND ASTROLOGY
Why we are fat and what part of the chart is to be blamed for it...

I found this lovely demonstration of evolution on a Belgian site about moving and dieting. Yes, ‘we' have grown (me, too!), but some grow faster than others do. A recent study showed that women get the shape of an apple and that we have 18 centimeters more (horizontally:) than our grandmothers had. In about 50 years the bodies of women will have the same shape as that of men (from behind). I think Ceres (see picture below) can be blamed for that. I bet she did not have 88-58-88!

Ceres – symbol of nutrition - has evolved from asteroid to dwarf planet. At the same time, people are growning and governments are more and more aware of it. Today it was published that (in the UK) schools will warn the parents when their children have extreme overweight (due to too many pizza's)!

LET US BLAME OUR CHART...
The birth chart shows your talent for growing by eating. And the birth chart gives you the keys to stop growing, too. But let's first blame our chart for the weight that we already have. Let us blame Venus, Jupiter, the Moon and the Ascendant and let us prove it! There are enough examples. And on the bottom of this post there is an advice that will motivate all star signs in their own way.

Blame VENUS, for all the nice and sweet things in the world
The planet Venus makes things pretty, nice and sweet. Do you love sweet things too much? You might have a conflict with Venus in that case. Venus is also the planet of love and affection. And if you need love and affection, but you don't get it, there is an easy way to sooth the desire with sugar. A conflict between Venus and Jupiter points at too much sugar. And when Venus is afflicting the Ascendant, you not only look 'too sweet' but you also use to much sweetness or make-up. Examples?

Elvis Presley with Venus quintile Jupiter ruler 1
Roseanne Barr with Venus in Sagittarius inconjunct Jupiter in Taurus
Theodore Roosevelt with Venus in Sagittarius opposition Jupiter in Gemini (conjunct Ascendant)
Pope John Paul 23rd with Venus in Taurus square Jupiter in Leo

It is OK to be fond of nice and sweet tasting things, but when it gets fat...That is when Jupiter comes around.

Blame it on JUPITER, the one that makes you fat
Jupiter is the symbol of everything that is great, big and fat. That is because Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system. Astrology sometimes has simple messages:) Jupiter rules fat, progress and fortune. In many cultures, up till today, being fat is a good sign. That is the positive side.

When Jupiter is conjunct the Ascendant, in the first house or afflicted by Sun, Moon, Venus or Ascendant, there is a chance that you get overweight. This is especially so when Jupiter is in gluttonous sign like Pisces or Cancer. There is a slight chance that being fat won't harm you. In that case there is no affliction, just an aspect. Or should it be more easy to gain weight? Do you want examples?

Orson Welles with Jupiter on top, square Ascendant
Pavarotti's Jupiter in Scorpio square Ascendant Leo.
Oliver Hardy's Jupiter in the first house in Pisces, opposition Moon.
Peter Ustinov: Sun sesquisquare Jupiter, Moon in Leo square Venus, Ascendant Cancer
Prince William-Alexander of the Netherlands has Moon in Sagittarius, biquintile Jupiter in Cancer and opposition Venus, with a Scorpio Ascendant
His grandmother Queen Wilhelmina had Moon in Cancer square Jupiter in the first house and ASC Pisces (and she was small and round)
Sarah Fergusson: Jupiter in the first house square Venus, ASC Scorpio, Moon in Aries inconjunct Venus and trine Jupiter (had weight problems)

Blame it on the MOON for greed and habitsYou don't get fat just like that. You have to work for it. And the activity it takes is: eating, a lot of eating! Do you like sweet food (Moon-Venus) or do you like to eat a lot (Moon-Jupiter) or do you have a problem with food (Moon-Pluto)? Do you have the Moon in a sign that makes you round (Cancer or Pisces) or large (Leo or Sagittarius)? It might be that your Moon is excessive (Scorpio) or the Moon is in a sign that like to have a kitchen filled with food (Taurus)? If any part of the chart can be blamed, it is the Moon! Examples:

Pavarotti: Moon in Aries biquintile Venus for a creative need for beauty, and sweetness
Alfred Hitchcock had Sun quintile Jupiter and Ascendant Pisces (just like me:(, AND Moon in Scorpio square Venus
Oliver Hardy: Moon opposite Jupiter
Peter Ustinov: Moon Leo square Venus
Oprah Winfrey: Moon Sagittarius opposite Jupiter

For more about the Moon, food and diets, see the article on my site Astromarkt...
Have you got the ASCENDANT in the right rising (...) sign?
You cannot help it when you have an ascendant that makes you fat. Blame your ascendant Pisces, Cancer, Sagittarius or Leo if you like to show off your wealth (Leo), feed yourself (Cancer, let yourself go (Pisces) or simply grow (Sagittarius). Especially when Saturn does not help you at all!

Hitchcock, Hardy and Queen Wilhelmina have an Ascendant Pisces
Pavarotti has an Ascendant Leo and Ustinov Ascendant Cancer
Sarah Fergusson*) and William-Alexander have a fanatic Scorpio Ascendant (so they can also slim to the edge!)

AND IS IT COINCIDENCE THAT AN EXTRA SYMBOL OF NUTRITION, CERES, HAS BECOME MORE IMPORTANT IN THE LAST YEARS?
Ceres, the dwarf planet is the symbol of nutrition. Ceres is close to the Ascendant of Oliver Hardy, opposite Venus in the chart of Roseanne Barr and Elvis Plresley and on top of the chart of Churchill. So Ceres was active all along, but now she is being taken serious!

CONCLUSION
It takes an accumulation (...) of indications in your chart to grow real fat. And it is not just caused by eating. Not moving (for example when you sit and watch this screen, like now) is very helpful, too.
How to diet? See the moon diet on my site Astromarkt! Or use the Saturn in your chart, see how you get motivated (Mars, Sun). Even with the Moon in Pisces or Cancer there are other ways to feel happy (watching movies, visiting family). Or just do as you please (Venus).

PART II
For every sign there is an option and a goal to stimulate you (if you like:).

ADVICES FOR THE SIGNS
Aries
To get the bus in time: be active, do sports, do it alone!
Taurus
To have enough space to have some extra later: sleep more and move without pasture.
Gemini
To get in contact with others, do a game! Or just start walking outside...
Cancer
To save money, buy less! And drink a lot of water.
Leo
Consider it a game, win the race to loose weight and start showing off!
Virgo
To serve yourself, just diet. Then after a few weeks time, take a look in the mirror and enjoy the results (if you can:).
Libra
Buy a good balance, to be in balance, but whatever you do, do it together!
Scorpio
To show how drastic you are, be strict, fanatic and inflexible and get in control!
Sagittarius
To be able to coach others, find your own best method, more likely a flexible one:)
Capricorn
Just be economic and save energy by eating less. You know that food don’t last.
Aquarius
Do the latest diet to show the world that they can do better, too. Don't push it too far so that you have a safe return back on earth.
Pisces
Sacrifice yourself for the mirror’s sake! Swimming does not make us slimmer, but as long as you swim, you cannot eat. That goes for dancing, too.

You don't have to take it all that serious. And I am not making fun of it. Eating is a serious thing. So is growing fat. My contribution to less fat in the world can only be: less sitting and writing. I will try to beat THAT addiction:)
