The dominating sun in a chart

You can’t overlook the sun in the sky and you can’t overlook the people with an important ‘calling’ sun in the chart. Sometimes not being overlooked is not in their favor. Schapelle Corby has the Sun on Midheaven, no major aspect in sign or orb 5 degrees and at the airport she drew attention. The MC didn’t have major aspect either, so that the situation got out of her hands.
But most often those with what I name a ‘calling’ sun want to be in the center of attention and try to get that attention, somehow, anyhow, like for exempel Roseanne Barr (see the chart and the story on Art&Astrology: http://art-astrology.blogspot.com/2009/07/astrology-chart-roseanne-barr.html , Adolf Hitler, Hillary Clinton, J.F. Kennedy, John Lennon and Youssouf Islam (Cat Stevens). Sometimes they become a political leader, but with this ‘calling’ sun in your chart, you sure would know how to draw attention as a child (at school, as the leader of a group of children).
You don’t need to be the leader, you can also be the boy or girl who walks around with a golden big smile, drawing attention by being such a sunny kid! Somehow, anyhow, you will be seen and noticed with such a sun, like David Cameron.

The Sun is the symbool of the star. You can have the starring role at any possible level when your sun doesn’t make major aspect. But it doesn’t mean that you will always be the winner or that you are the one to take the lead.

How to deal with a leader with a ‘calling’ sun? They won’t want to stand in the shadow of another person, so perhaps it is better to keep a low profile. I wonder how that is between Obama and Hillary Clinton now. Hillary Clinton has a 'calling sun' and Barack Obama is a Leo, the sign ruled by the sun. Both wanted to be the leader of the USA and he won. Both are proud. Well, maybe it helps when the other person is a male and the ‘calling sun’ is a (smaller) female. And that his Venus and Jupiter are in a nice position with her chart? (Maybe it also helps a lot that the ‘calling sun’ is abroad, often?)

Small orbs

On this blog you will only find small orbs. You know, orbs are the ranges in which an aspect is said to be in play. A 94 degree aspect is still a square - a 90d aspect- with an orb of 4 degrees. And sometimes I have to use the chart of a day of birth. If you want to know why, continue...

1. Because of the wider orbs, aspects between planets and lights are valid for at least hours and sometimes even for weeks. Thousands of men and women share the same aspects.
2. And all the work to get a specific second of birth becomes futile when you use wide orbs. What does it matter if your Ascendant has degree 2, 4, or 8 when the orb is 6 degrees? Why do all that work and than throw it away?
3. Because of my experience with midpoint combinations.
The chart with hour of birth tells us about key characteristics, the main tools that a person got in order to survive life. The tightest and most individual aspects are midpoint combinations with Ascendant/Midheaven and those with the Moon. They (Ascendant, MC and Moon) move fast. If you want to be more specific, for example with twins, use those key midpoints to see the difference between one individual and another (...keeping in mind that twins, in order to distinguise themselves, may select different ways to express the same energy: also see the label Twins)

D.O.B. or W.O.B. or M.O.B.?
My advice is to use small orbs and tight aspect- or midpoint combinations. Extend the orb only if there is an object between the two other objects in a -too- large orb. ,  (There is mostly also a midpoint combination then).
Using larger orbs, will turn the chart of the hour of birth into the chart of the day, week or even the month of birth.

Al and Tipper Gore are separating

On Asrology-love-romance.blogspot.com I wrote about the long lasting relationship between Al and Tipper Gore. They managed to stick together for decades, and now they have agreed to divorce! What transits and progressions accompany this decission? And what does this divorce say about indications in the natal chart?

TIPPER
When I wrote about Tipper, I hadn't 'discovered' Pholus, yet. Pholus (the symbol of the turning point) is in her 7th house. In her natal chart the rulers of 1 and 7 are in conflict and the ruler of the 7th house of marriage is semi square Venus in the 1st house. Those are indications for possible divorce.

Right now, Tipper's progressed Ascendant is opposition transit Neptune (to see her chart, scroll down). I have learned that it is rather difficult to really separate from a partner, when Neptune is involved (ties because of parenthood or other dependencies).

Neptune is also ' active' in Al Gore's chart right now (see later). Neptune is an important factor in the relationship between her chart and Al Gore's, too. I quote from Astrology & Love:
They share a conflict between Sun and Neptune (he has the opposition and she has a semi square). On Astromarkt there is an article about sharing aspects. I write about Sun-Neptune:
"Sun and Neptune shared in aspect gives you shared ideals, dreams and faith or even a shared idol! But with hard aspects you might share the same disillusions as well or this relationship is disillusive. Cooperating could work out best in an asylum or in a non-profit organization where they can help others, and each other.
Another possible combination is between enemies and with Sun in hard aspect with Neptune shared. Ideology stand between you as was the case with the murderer of director Theo van Gogh who shared Sun square Neptune with his victim.
"
I read that they go to church each Sunday (if possible). Neptune is the symbol of ideology and religion. Perhaps the issue of sharing the same ideals is a hot item for the relationship. Life is not always a dream, but you can at least try to realise yours...perhaps that is the general idea of Sun-Neptune here.

AL GORE has a (wide) sesquisquare between Venus and Neptune and his progressed Venus is now square natal Neptune, with transit Neptune in the equal 7th house. Venus-Neptune is a romantic combination and often romance is sad. In a few cases Venus-Neptune refers to affairs. In a man's natal chart the Venus-Neptune affliction is one of the indications for a divorce. (This one proofs that the orb of a sesquisquare may be up to 2 degrees!)
Also, transit Pluto is now inconjunct his natal Ascendant (stressful situation, including a lost, a price to pay).

All in all they had 3 indications as a couple.

BTW The Gore's have stated that they grew apart and are separating on a friendly basis.

More about Al Gore ;here. Here are the charts with today's transits and progressions:
