Calling planets, more explanation

I just tweeted about calling planets as I noticed that I have to explain a bit more about what it is, what major aspects and what orbs are. I use the term frequently because I find it as important in a chart as a scar is in the face, like a sort of an Astro ID.

WHEN?
Planets make aspects. Aspects are specific distances with other planets or angles in the chart. The major aspects are conjunction 0d) sextile (60d), square (90d) trine (120d) and opposition (180d). An aspect needs not to be exactly the mentioned distance. There is an orb. I use a 5 degree orb (with exceptions). A calling planet doesn't make such an aspect within orb or sign. (I don't say that there is no aspect when there is an aspect within 5 degrees orb, but out of sign. I just use these indications for 'calling planets').

WHAT?
Calling planets tend to present their energy at any kind of level, somehow, anyhow.

HOW?
When it is your Sun that doesn't make major aspects within 5 degrees orb and/or in sign you will draw attention, somehow, anyhow as a leader, performing, showing off, whatever it takes.

Here is the quote from my site Astromarkt:

CALLING SUN

Sun without aspects: leadership, show, performance (as an athlete, for example), drawing attention at any possible level

CALLING MOON

Moon without aspects attrackts children. Everything related to children (education, care) will be highlighted. The Moon is of importance for memorising, like in history and when you play a certain role on stage, but also for cooks.

CALLING MERCURY

Mercury = seeking for contacts and ways for communication as a writer, reporter, or transporter (delivering messages).

CALLING VENUS

Venus = seeking for love, kindness and sympathy. Style, beauty, charm and diplomacy will be used in the profession, if possible. Venus is important in the charts of diplomats, stylists, beauties and those working in the field of entertainment and pleasure.

CALLING MARS

Mars without aspects will be strongly dedicated to the job, often in sports, in the military, industry or as an entrepeneur. If Mars is not working, the energy will find a way out in adventures, activism or by showing very high and very low levels of energy and drive.

CALLING JUPITER

Jupiter = seeking for a conviction or religion and wants development. An unaspected Jupiter will be an international, a traveller, someone with a strong conviction, showing the way (sometimes as a coach, sometimes on a trip).

CALLING SATURN

Saturn = seeking for stability and security, status. Of course an unaspected Saturn will be found in the charts of those who work in the government, construction, with the elderly or in any hierarchy.

CALLING URANUS

Uranus = seeking for sensation, new items and news. That is why the unaspected Uranus will likely be driven to gadgets, the latest findings, technology, inventions and ...news. Journalists, inventors, engineers, computer freaks and technocrats are among those with an unaspected Uranus. Sometimes it is the signature of the outsider or rebel.

CALLING NEPTUNE

Neptune = seeking mystic, romance, rest. All that you can't touch or feel, but smell sometimes is Neptunic, like the perfume industry and chemistry. Drugs, the movies, religion, spirtiuals and spirituality are part of the world of Neptune.

CALLING PLUTO

Pluto = seeking challenges and influence by using force and authority or values (money). Strong men (with or without muscles) have unaspected Pluto's, but Pluto is also 'calling' those who work in cases of life and death, and where strategy is needed (in politics, for example).

A CALL FOR...

Those planets, Sun or Moon strongly influence your career, because they manifest themselves at any possible level, somehow or anyhow and strongly drive you into a certain direction.

And of course, you can have more than one 'calling planet' or an MC without major aspects (so that your position can reach any level) or a dito Ascendant (a presentation at any level).

That is the theory. There are examples on this blog. The latest is Betty Ford, who had the Sun without major aspects and who became the nation's First Lady.

Chart, progressions and transits of Betty Ford

Betty Ford died. She was the wife of Gerald Ford, who died in 2006. She died with Progressed Midheaven conjunct Mars, ruler 8th house of life and death and with transit Neptune quindecile (165d) that same Mars. There is also a Jupiter inconjunct Ascendant from the 8th house in her progressed chart. Betty Ford died at age 93. I think that Jupiter/Uranus opposition her Sun was one of the combinations in her chart that contributed to the length of her life.

THE WIFE OF...
Her natal chart shows the importance of the marriage partner, family life and ' the party': Juno is conjunct her Sun and the Moon is important, too (angular and the first large object rising before the Sun). With her Ascendant in Virgo and knowing about her Juno and Moon, you would expect her to humbly serve the family and husband, but...there is Sun inconjunct Ascendant.

Betty Ford is a good example of someone with the Sun without major aspects, a ' calling'  Sun. With such a sun in your chart you are likely to draw attention, somehow, anyhow. She married a President to be...and became the First Lady. Her Sun and Juno are in tight aspect with Midheaven (it was her job to be the 'wife of...'). In that job she had more impact on the American society than her husband had. She also fought for women's rights (see Mars - symbol of the activist - on the Ascendant opposition Moon). And later, when her husband lost the elections, she took over. BTW, it was her second marriage (ruler 1 Mercury is square ruler 7 Neptune and Juno - conjunct Sun- is inconjunct Mars).

Continue for the story of her life related to progressions and transits.

Juno conjunct Ascendant: George Clooney and Prince Albert

Aphrodite and Adonis
George Clooney married once and promised himself never to do it again. He seems to keep that promise. His relationships are short. He is 50 and single. That made me think of Prince Albert, who was a 53-year old single till he got married lately. I had a look at their charts and found Juno on the Ascendant of both. And then I found more, see this:

George Clooney left his Xth lover and he is 50.
Prince Albert of Monaco just wedded for the first time (and fathered 2 before) and he was 53 when he got married

George Clooney has Juno conjunct Ascendant
Prince Albert has Juno conjunct Ascendant
Does this mean that you are a wanted bachelor or does it mean that you are married with yourself?

George Clooney has Moon in Capricorn
Prince Albert has Moon in Capricorn
Capricorn and Virgo are those cool signs that make a man attractive in the eyes of women. See
http://astropost.blogspot.com/2008/09/male-attraction-venus-saturn-taurus-and.html Of course you are more attractive when you are 'on the market'.

George Clooney has the movable (Pisces) Ascendant in aspect with Uranus (quatronovile=160d) and trine Neptune
Prince Albert has the movable (Gemini) Ascendant in aspect with Neptune (sesquisquare) and Uranus (semi square)
Ebertin mentions this combination in 'Combinations of Stellar Influences' : trouble through others, suffering from contacts with restless people, being sad together with others.

George Clooney has Venus quintile Saturn and Moon conjunct Saturn
Prince Albert has Venus semi square Saturn
Venus-Saturn doesn't make it easy to avoid difficulties in love life

George Clooney has Venus rising before the Sun
Prince Albert has Venus rising before the Sun
Lots of people have Venus rising before the Sun. But Albert has Venus and Mars rising before the Sun (indication of passion) and George has Venus in Aries (ruled by Mars)

George Clooney has ruler 5 in 11 conjunct Saturn
Prince Albert has ruler 11 in 5 septile Saturn

George Clooney has Mars in the 5th house
Prince Albert has Jupiter and Neptune in the 5th house

Here are the charts:

Neil Diamond and the kiss

After all of those heavy criminal cases it is time for a less serious post. I want to talk about Neil Diamond's kiss and talent (and kissing talent?). The minor aspect between Venus and Neptune (105 degrees) means that underneath there is romance, always. On June 30, with Transit Neptune inconjunct progressed Midheaven a long lasting kiss with a fan demonstrated this romance, but a little out of balance (Neptune is for romance, inconjunctions lack balance). The public didn't seem to like it much (some were shocked). Neptune's inconjunctions always include negative response. And of course there is more in the chart of Neil Diamond today.

Women and love happen to be part of the deal today, when you look at the transits and progressions.

There is the Moon (symbol of needs, women and experiences).
1. With Pluto conjunct the Moon maybe there was a strong need or intense experience:)
2. Transit Node inconjunct Progressed Moon was exact and
3. still sextile Uranus for a public adventure.
I wonder who the woman was (and about her chart). Anyway, it was time for something new and it drew attention. Was it real? Perhaps. Because there is also Venus! The Progressed Ascendant trine Progressed Venus might just introduce beauty, women and love...
When there is a trine between Ascendant and Venus in the natal chart, men are attractive to women (and women are most often charming or beautiful). When the trine is in the progressed chart, it is a period of meeting nice and good looking people. In that period you are likely even more attractive and popular than ever...And he is already popular (Moon exactly trine Jupiter and Venus square Ascendant, Venus-Jupiter-Midheaven and the 'cool' Venus and Moon in Capricorn.

Have I shown the talent in the chart of Neil Diamond, yet? Probably (on Art&Astrology!), but I will repeat it here. The pattern of artistic talent in the chart is found in the MC in Cancer, the important positions of Venus (angular), Moon (rising before Sun), Neptune ('calling') and the aspects between them.

1. Venus square Ascendant
2. Moon rising before the Sun
3. Neptune no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees (Neptune is 'calling'!)
4. Minor aspect between Venus and Neptune (105 d)
5. Venus opposition Midheaven
Moon
6. Neptune 67.5 (sesquisemisquare) MC
7. MC in Cancer (ruled by Moon)

PS I wonder if the continuing pain in his back is resonating the Mars-Saturn-MC golden yod (Mars on Apex).

A Sun-Saturn pattern (in chart of Fedele Bisceglia)

Jehan Georges Vibert, Preparations for the procession (Txs Wiki Commons)
It doesn't seem to stop raining abuse stories in the Roman Catholic Church. Today,
father Fedele Bisceglia was sentenced to 8 years, convicted for the rape of four nuns. Bisceglia shouted that he is innocent (but it seems that there are incriminating phone tapes). Fedele Bisceglia was born on November 6, 1937 and pretty famous in Italy, because 10 years ago he converted a porn star.
But, what does the chart of the day of his birth tell us? I want to show you how the chart, transits and progressions are an example of a repeated pattern: Sun-Saturn natal aspect with Progressed Sun in Capricorn, sextile Saturn, today.
This Sun sextile Saturn tells us that sextiles aren't easy at all.

He has Venus square Mars and Jupiter, tightly. That is a statement of a lot of (Juipter) passion (Venus+Mars). It doesn't seem easy for a monk. There are more examples of abuse by religious persons on this blog and they all have strong Venus-Pluto or Venus-Mars aspects. The demand not to marry is more difficult for a person with a lot of passion. And with some authority (in this chart: Pluto 'calling'!), there is a thin line between that person and abuse.
But, I like to point at the Sun-Saturn pattern. The aspect Sun-Saturn in the natal chart is related to Mars and Uranus (Sun sesquisquare Saturn and quintile Mars, opposition Uranus). That immediately brings discipline into mind. Discipline, limited freedom and restricted independence (and the trend to break free). He found all that in the convent and now in prison.

SUN-SATURN
Fedele was born with Sun sesquisquare Saturn. That is hard for a 'common boy', because it means that life was harder for him than it was for others or that he started with seeing the disadvantages in life. Fedele Bisceglia lost his mother at age 6 (P Sun-Neptune) and entered the convent at age 13 (P Sun-Mars-Saturn). He didn't have much of a normal youth or family life.

Right now the progressed Sun is sextile Saturn...in the year of his trial and conviction.

You know, a natal aspect combination repeated in transits and/or progression resonates harder than other aspects do.

NOVEMBER 6, 1937
Fedele Bisceglia didn't have to become a monk and a rapist, of course. The chart of the day of birth doesn't tell us that. There are others born that day (a deceased writer, a deceased photographer and Eugene Pitt - 'the most underrated soul singer in America'-). Neptune rises before the Sun of November 6, 1937. Neptune is the symbol of beliefs, art, fantasy and the spiritual. Making music or photo's or writing or being a monk is all 'Neptune'. There is a range of possibilities. The musician didn't have to vow that he wouldn't marry. (I don't know if he ever did).
I hope that Pitt is OK and fine.
BTW, I noticed that when Bisceglia entered the convent, Eugene Pitt's mother passed away (age 13).

PS
There was no Jupter/Uranus to help him out, today, and Jupiter-Uranus is not prominent in his chart.  I tell you this because of the earlier post about DSK, OJ and Casey Anthony and the Jupiter-Uranus ' connection' when there was a happy change in their life or an acquittal. There was none for Bisceglia.
