Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: perfect match?

On DNAIndia.com Kim Kardashian tells us how astrology helped her realize that Kanye West is her perfect match. She mentions a thorough study of sun signs Libra (hers) and Gemini (his) to come to that conclusion. It is not exactly a secret that the air signs do match, but it take a bit more to be a perfect match. Unfortunately there are no verified hours of birth for Kim or Kanye and the charts produced by Astro.com have a low rating. The means that I can't use the Ascendant, MC or Moon position to see how perfect the match might be. The C-rated chart of Kanye is based on an hour of birth given by Matthew Currie, no source mentioned. I'll use that one,. Here is the chart of Kanye West with transits of the day of birth of his wife Kim Kardashian.

She doesn't seem to have an indication of divorce, but he does. The Moon square Neptune isn't a solid aspect for long lasting relationships in the chart of a man. Because it is only 1 aspect, perhaps that is not enough to create a divorce. If the time of birth is right, the Saturn of Kim is on the Descendant of her husband.  Saturn sticks like glue! Or like a stamp to a letter... There are not many aspects in synastry.Venus in Taurus matches with Venus in Virgo, but there is no narrow trine. Mars in Taurus doesn't match with Mars in Sagittarius. And yes, Libra Sun is a perfect partner for Gemini Sun, even without an aspects between them. The charts are not perfectly matching, but as long as that Saturn-glue keeps sticking, they will be together. It doesn't take a long study to see that. It is basic knowledge. BTW I know couples who had a perfect sun sign match and didn't stay together because of other influences. But it helps when your sun sign matches.

Second date and astrology

There is a conservative politician in my country who is fighting against Second dating sites. You know, those sites where you can subscribe in order to find a partner to date with, even though both of you are involved in a relationship or married. A diver's watch has a second date, too. You have to get above water in time, when you are diving deep...
In 2014 a second date agency published that 13,4 percent of the members was born under Capricorn. That may not be the usual suspect, but if you want some security and do it in an organized way, you might end up on an internet site seeking a suitable reliable partner for being untrue. There were fewer Sagittarians (5,6 percent) and Scorpios (5,7 percent) among the subscribers in The Netherlands (see article). Perhaps that is because they do it less organized:).
Apart from the 'suspected signs' there are 'suspected aspects'. In ancient astrology books Venus-Saturn aspects were considered to have a negative effect on remaining true in a marriage. I think that that is because in those days it was harder to get a divorce. The couple had to stick together, even if there was no love between them. Venus-Saturn wants to keep the relationship safe and yet, it is rather hard and boring if you don't have a hobby, like astrology, for example.
I mentioned cheating ladies before (see the links). They almost all had Venus and/or Mars without major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees, so that passion could reach any level (100% or zero). All or nothing. Second dating is very different. It is deliberately seeking adventure for your own pleasure, instead of desperately falling in love. We don't know any data about the subscribers, only sun sign percentages. But I can imagine what the charts could be like. It almost always takes more than 1 indication, like in the chart of John F. Kennedy, the Gemini with Moon-Venus, Venus-Neptune and Mars-Uranus aspects to need love, love romance and accelerated fire. He had his wife, he seems to have had Marilyn Monroe and still this was not enough.
It is probably hard to be fiery and romantic in a long and boring marriage, without TV or an interesting hobby. Venus is not just the planet of love, but also the planet of what you love, like your hobby. I wouldn't be surprised if Venus-Saturn was the equivalent of lack of hobby!:) That explains, LOL.

Valentine's Day 2015

Happy Valentine!

The chart of Valentine’s day 2015 looks good for lover’s fun. Why? Because Venus is biquintile Jupiter and that's good for creative parties and marriages. Those who celebrate their birthday or will be born on February 14, 2015 may have more than one reason to congratulate themselves. It is the weekend before Carnaval and that is a weekend of music and funny events in the southern part of my country.

It is a good day, but of course: not for all of us. Life and love happens to depend more on genes, situation and circumstances beyond our choices than on our character, feelings and astrology chart. And not to mention: age! I had Progressed Sun conjunct Venus when I was 6 and could have met the love of my life!:)

This year’s Valentine’s day starts in Western Europe with Juno elevated conjunct MC. Juno, you know, is the symbol of the wedded wife and marriage. Meanwhile, Venus and Mars in Pisces are in the 5th house of ‘the other gender’ or playmates, so it is a nice chart to start with.

This Valentine’s Day it is not true that blonds have more fun. Any hair color will have a nice Valentine’s day if their birthday is on March 12 or 13, and Venus is on your natal Sun. Peter Doherty , who completed rehab in January this year, is such a lucky person. But, dear readers, there is a DISCLAIMER!
Transits of Venus are fast, go bye in a second and are light hearted. So if you happened to look the other way, you won’t even notice the beauty when she goes. Important things like meeting a partner happen in important astrological times. That is when there are more than 2 indications.

So, Venus should best be accompanied by progressions in case of serious plans in love. If you just want to have some fun or send a kind little present, Venus’ transits will do.

These days, Valentine's Day is the day that you celebrate with your loved one. Once it was a friends' day. And there was a time when Valentine was a secret lover.  Valentine is flexible. So am I. I use not to use sun signs, but let me have some fun and tell you about your sun sign Valentine day:

ARIES
Lots of Valentine's Days, Aries have a Venus in the 12th house position and that is great for sending flowers, chocolate and cards to secret loves.

TAURUS
Celebrating Valentine's Day with friends? Have a party!

GEMINI
You may use Valentine's Day to ask or be asked to get married this year. If you already found your love, why not tell the world about it?

CANCER
Your home is your castle, but maybe this year you should ask your partner for a ride or a flight. If you are single, find your love in a library, a plane, abroad or in a travel agency. No gain, no pain.

LEO
Don't buy diamond rings if you can't afford them!

VIRGO
Looking for passion? Or is the romantic dwell of Venus and Mars in Pisces too much? In that case, go to the cinema and see a movie like Fifty Shades. Afterwards, have an ice cream.

LIBRA
Though you like to take it easy, the best way to demonstrate your love is to serve others this year. My advice is to find an easy and clean way to do so.

SCORPIO
Bet you are the most desirable and passioned lover this Valentine's weekend! Or maybe you always are?

SAGITTARIUS
Love is in the air of the bar, dancing place or cinema for you this Valentine.

CAPRICORN
Talking about love and sex this Valentine weekend? Talk to someone special...

AQUARIUS
Find your love and passion in a bank or in the country this Valentine! And if you have one, show your appreciation!

PISCES
Perfume, roses and a good movie complete Valentine's Day. You are in the mood!

Your personal horoscope can be matched with the advices above, easily, wherever you are.
Keep it cool, be nice and have a great weekend!

Use the links for when you are in the mood for romance…

Synastry Tony Blair, Rupert Murdoch and Wendi Deng

Maybe this post is a bit cynical. It is about an alleged affair that sparked the 3rd (…) divorce of Rupert Murdoch.

A 'devastated' Rupert Murdoch divorced last year after he found out that his wife had very warm feelings for Tony Blair. Tony Blair had an affair? It rhymes, but he says: no.

With Pluto opposite his progressed Sun and Uranus/Pluto midpoint semi square his Sun/Moon there is reason to expect some turbulence and stressful challenge in his life right now, still or again. Venus square Uranus in his natal chart and an out of bounds Pluto in the 5th may be a problem when you want to be true. But that is all speculations.

What I really want to know is: how is the synastry of Rupert Murdoch and Tony Blair? Does their synastry show the influence that Tony Blair had on the divorce of Rupert Murdoch? And how about the synastry with Wendi Deng?

Rupert Murdoch has Jupiter in the 7th house and conflicts between the 1st and 7th. That is a key to divorce, anyway. He also has a 'calling' Venus and lots of money, and so he married a very young woman. It was his 3rd marriage. Tony Blair married only once.

SYNASTRY TONY-RUPERT

The Venus of Tony Blair is conjunct the Nodes of Rupert Murdoch: that is good for relationships and maybe that is how they became close. Rupert's Venus is trine Tony's AS: that is sympathy again.
Saturn of Rupert is conjunct Tony's Chiron and Ruper's Chiron is conjunct Tony's Sun, a recipe for real hurt. There is also Saturn square Saturn (generational or age difference).
The Neptune of Rupert Murdoch is square the Mars of Tony Blair. That is a negative synastry.
And last but not least:
Sun/Moon of Tony Blair is quindecile the Uranus of Rupert Murdoch.
I think that that is the most devastating and disturbing interaction between their charts, because now transit Pluto hits that particular point. Transit Pluto is square the Uranus of Murdoch and in between Sun and Moon of Tony Blair. What Rupert Murdoch says now, will of course damage the family life of Tony Blair. There is no solid proof of any affair, however and Blair denies it.
This synastry aspect shows me that it is good to check quindecile (165 degree) aspects with Sun/Moon (or AC/MC or any position) in future.

Wendi Deng's Sun (December 8, 1968) is inconjunct the Sun of Tony Blair, signifying attention in an disproportional way (and the risk of loss). His Venus was (…) trine her Sun and her Jupiter trine his Mars. That is OK for liking each other. However: their Moons never matched and neither did their Venus (Aries-Capricorn). They were worlds apart in many way.

Rupert and Wendi weren't the perfect match, either. Their Suns didn't match (Pisces for him, Sagittarius for her) and their Moons neither (Sagittarius and Cancer). Mercury square Mercury doesn't help communications much. Venus Aquarius for him and Capricorn for her (but septile, so they managed to like each other). Her Mars in Libra square his Pluto in Cancer might have been a problem, too, but most of all her Venus opposite his Mars…that is for questionable passion. The fact that there is Venus-Mars says that there was sexual attraction, but the opposition often separates.

So all is well that ends, well…except for the upheaval, that is:). However, there is also a Cherie Blair, with her Sun quindecile Tony's Venus and her Venus opposite his Sun. Will long-lasting love win in the end?

Inconjunct synastry

Inconjuncts (aspects of 150 degrees) between a couple's chart positions are difficult to deal with. The quincunx in synastry makes me think of a seesaw with both parties sitting on one side, trying to get each other up by moving down. In a balanced position there is no fun at all. Depending on the nature of the aspects involved, there is a lack of balance in a certain area of the relationship. I take 2 degrees orb (very small) for the inconjunct. When it comes to signs you may as well take the whole sign as inconjunct (Aries-Scorpio, Aries-Virgo, Taurus-Sagittarius, Taurus-Libra, Gemini-Capricorn, Gemini-Scorpo, etc.) but you need to take into account that there ARE aspects contradicting this 'verdict'. For examples, see Astromarkt.

Please understand that it takes more than just one inconjunction to split you up! You don't NEED a quincunx to separate.
The inconjunction simply says that it is hard to stay on each others' level and still enjoy the interaction. That is why I added this picture of a seesaw. Picture that… Try to climb up a seesaw and you will see how easy it is to slide down.

Two charts, one experience

A long time ago I wrote 'When one chart is up and the other one is down'. It was about the correlation between the charts of couples sharing experiences such as the wedding day, when children are born or parents die. As the lives of couples are sort of intwined, you may expect to see the reflection of the event or situation in both of the charts (natal or progressed).  Couples almost always have tight connections between their charts. They often experience the same transits, like this happy couple.
Personal examples:
  • My Sun/Moon midpoint is exactly square the Sun of my husband. My AC/MC midpoint, too. And there are more synastry aspects. When his Sun was hit by an opposition of transit Uranus the other day, this transit Uranus also hit my midpoints Sun/Moon and AC/MC.  What happened was an accident with hot water. It happened to him, but Uranus shocked me, too. More on that accident in the next post.
  • Mid August transit Jupiter was square his Sun, was Jupiter opposition my Sun/Moon. That's when he did that hole-in-1
  • When my sister was dying her progressed Sun was conjunct mine. It made us share transits and brought us closer together.
Such interactions between charts mirror shared moments of crisis or joy.

Of course you can have the same transits with a stranger, too. You don't know him or her, but if you did, you would empathize and 'feel along'. Charts: they should be seen and read in the light of the situation and the circumstances.

PS ON THE ASCENDANT-DESCENDANT
The axis AC-DC connects the houses 1 and 7 (house of partners). Transits may refer to things that happen to your partner and have an effect on you, personally. Jupiter may make you happy for him/her, Neptune may make you sad, Saturn worries etcetera.

Divorce in the chart

As charts are to be seen in the context of history, genes, gender, social position and culture there is no world wide guide line for marriage or divorce. A chart mirrors what is below. ('So above, so below' is also 'So below, so above').

Astrologer Ram found a pattern in the charts of divorced persons and in the charts of those who never get married at all. That was in the first half of the 20th century, so that we need to see the pattern in the context of history. It was exceptional to divorce in those days.
Today, it is much easier to divorce and (at least in Western Europe) nobody cares if you marry or not (and still live together as one). So things have changed. Also, the rich and those who live in the world of 'stars' find it less easy to stay married and easier to divorce. That is why they don't need that much of the found indications as in those days.

The indications

For men and women it is not good for long lasting marriages to have conflicts between the Ascendant and Descendant (the first and seventh house. So when there is a conflict between ruler 1 and ruler 7 or positions in the 1st and 7th house, there is problem in living together as one couple.

Difficult hard aspects for men are:
- Moon in conflict with Saturn
- Moon in conflict with Neptune
- Venus in conflict with Neptune
- Mars in conflict with Uranus

Difficult hard aspects for women are:
- Sun in conflict with Mars
- Sun in conflict with Uranus
- Venus in conflict with Uranus
- Mars in conflict with Saturn

More of those afflictions increase the possibility of separations. With 2 or more of those indications it is harder to stay with the first marriage partner or… it is harder to get married at all.  Almost every time that I write about divorce, here or on Astrology&Love, I mention these findings.*)
AND...
Venus in Aries and Mars in Libra aren't stimulating relationships, I noticed. Venus is the mundane ruler of Libra and the 7th house. Mars is the ruler of the 1st house and of Aries. When they are in each other's sign, that is a weak placement for relationships.

LINKS
1. In 'How long will this love be going on?' I mention the power of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) in holding on to what they 'got', so that it takes them longer to decide that separation is the best. (http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/03/how-long-will-this-love-be-going-on.html ) But it is never the other way around. Barbara Streisand has many placements in fixed signs and she divorced.

2. In 'Multiple marriages, double bodied signs and Jupiter in 7' there are examples of divorce related to the 7th house cusp and Venus in the movable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces).
a. Barbara Streisand 'had enough' on Mars semi sextile Saturn and ruler 7 Venus in Pisces, quintile Uranus. But she is star.
b. Zsa Zsa Gabor (6 February 1915, 20:08 CET Budapest) married 8 times. Her chart has Venus in Capricorn square Aries Point, but she has Pisces on the cusp of the 7th house and the ruler of Pisces (Neptune) is 'calling', biquintile Mercury ruler 1. Picture it: ruler 1 Mercury biquintile the 'calling' Neptune ruler 7 for a creative (biquintile) way to relate at any kind of level...
So there are also creative and 'easy' aspects pointing at divorce.
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2009/02/multiple-marriages-double-bodied-signs.html

3. Danny de Vito was talking about divorce. There were very few indications for divorce in the natal chart, but it is harder for a rich man:)
http://astrology-love-romance.blogspot.nl/search/label/divorce

Here are some examples of following 'the rules' of Ram:

I. In 'Divorce and the charts of women' you see the pattern in the charts of Caroline and Stephanie of Monaco
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/07/divorce-in-charts-of-women.html

II. Elvis and Priscilla Presley divorced. Elvis had Venus sesquisquare Neptune and Mars-Uranus biquintile.
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2009/03/famous-couple-elvis-and-priscilla.html

III. Roger Vadim and Brigitte Bardot had 'the indications' as you may see in this post on Astrology&Love that I quote here:
" Vadim married more than once. Moon square Saturn and Mars square Uranus are two of the indications for divorce in a man’s chart. Bardot has Mars opposition Saturn and a double bodied sign on the seventh house cusp to illustrate the risk of divorce or separation. She married three times. She is now still married with number three, a right conservative politician."
Use this search label 'divorce to find that story and more on Astrology&Love: http://astrology-love-romance.blogspot.nl/search/label/divorce

IV. More personal example: a family member (female) with Sun and Venus square Uranus and ruler 1 in conflict with ruler 7. She married and divorced twice.

V. Princess Anne of England married twice. Her natal charts has 3 out of the 4 indications for divorce for women*) and a conflict between the rulers of the 1st and 7th house. That is enough for at least one divorce.

VI.  Princess Irene has all of the four aspect combinations of possible divorce in her chart, but only 2 of them are difficult (the square and the quindecile):
- Sun binovile Uranus (going your own way, regardless of other’s opinions),
- Venus quintile Uranus (creative adventures in love) and
- Mars square Saturn (seperation from a man, dead ends) with
- Sun quindecile Mars

As I said, it is the context (the culture) that 'does it'. It is also the character that does it. Sometimes there is a 'happy divorce'. Sometimes circumstances change very much and it is the progressed chart that contains the indications for separation or divorce. People are individuals (most of them:). Yet, maybe sometimes, the natal chart is involved:).

*) PS I find it interesting that the conflicts between Moon, Venus and Neptune are also found in the pattern of artistic talents… (see Art&Astrology).

Golden oldies - 2 - about women and luv

Love posts about luv? Here are some of the golden oldies that I collected for you. The first 2 aren't that old. They are written in 2011.

1. Catherine the Great had a lot of lovers.

The two inconjunctions between planets related to sex and love life point at lack of balance (hormones, perhaps). Together with the prominent placements of the planets of love and sex (Mars, Moon and Venus) in aspect with Pluto (apex of the Yod) in the eight house of sex, life and death we get the picture...
Just like Henry VIII abused his power, Catherine did. She didn't marry her lovers, she 'only' used her officers. And perhaps she killed one husband, but she was very generous to her former lovers. One of those lovers was 40 years her junior. You see her chart and his natal positions (the transit positions) here:

http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/02/love-life-of-catherine-great.html

2. Coco Chanel had a German lover. That wasn't OK in the Second World War, in France...But they had Venus quindecile Venus in synastry: an obsessive love!
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/08/coco-chanel-in-love-and-war.html

3. Maria Callas loved Onassis, but he preferred Jacqueline Bouvier. She didn't get over it.
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2009/02/astrology-of-maria-callas-and.html
My Conclusion: they were made to not get together (for long).

4. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert had a lot of children together.
There are a lot of challenging aspects between them and there is little compensation in synastry. His Juno trine her Moon and Midheaven is nice, though. We can see the importance of marriage in her chart: Juno is exactly square the Ascendant

They share aspects and that helps! For example: both have Venus trine Uranus. That means that they shared a sort of an excitement about each other, a repeating sensation of falling in love. They also shared Venus trine Neptune: romantic feelings. And Mars-Jupiter (overproduction?:): she has Mars sextile Jupiter, he has Mars sesquisquare Jupiter.

The chart of Albert and Victoria are a perfect example of not matching signs and the effect of sharing aspects.
http://astrology-love-romance.blogspot.nl/2010/11/famous-couples-queen-victoria-and.html

5. Brad Pitt loved Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston. How do their charts get along?
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2008/10/link-between-angelina-jolie-jennifer.html

6. A life without luv with a happy virgin in the end...
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2008/10/happy-virgin-with-venus-in-virgo-clara.html
She had Venus in Virgo...:)

The synastry in the Petraeus affair

A few days ago I wrote about the Venus-Saturn synastry in the Petraeus affair. The Saturn of Paula Broadwell is opposition David Petraeus' Venus. Paula's Venus is 112.5 degrees from her Saturn (that is a square + half semi square) and general Petraeus has Venus sextile Saturn. So, the couple shares a Venus-Saturn connection. Now I know that there is even one more Venus-Saturn connection. Mrs. Holly Petraeus was born July 17, 1952 and that means that her progressed chart has Venus conjunct Saturn this year. That completes the triangle of Venus-Saturn.*). But how about the rest of the synastry between the three of them?

Here are the positions on the days of birth of David Petraeus with in green (transits) the positions of his wife Holly.

It is interesting to see the match between the charts (he Scorpio, she Cancer, Venus in Sagittarius and Venus in Leo). Her Neptune opposition his Mars may be difficult, but there has to be some difficulty to get going, doesn't it?:)
The present difficulty is named Paula. Paula's Mars is straight square the Sun of Holly and that means: competition! And hurt, of course.

Holly's chart only has Mars semi sextile Saturn as an indication of divorce. Unfortunately Petraeus' chart has more of the aspects that are frequent in the charts of divorced men (Moon-Neptune, Moon-Saturn, Mars-Uranus...). Time will tell how they deal with this. And if they stay together, the synastry between the signs in their charts won. At present, Paula and David's natal charts and Holly's progressed chart contain a Venus-Saturn aspect. They are all connected by the Venus-Saturn painful situation.

Petraeus-Broadwell and Venus-Saturn: love hurts

There is much commotion about the extramarital affair of general David Petraeus and the author of his biography: Paula Broadwell. She was his protege (his Jupiter opposition her Sun). A look at the astrological positions of their birthdays shows us that their love affair was a matter of Venus-Saturn. Venus-Saturn aspects are in their charts and between their charts.

1. Paula Broadwell's natal chart has a minor aspect between Venus and Saturn in the natal chart (112.5 degrees, square and half semi square).
2. David Petraeus has Venus sextile Saturn.
3. Paula's Saturn is opposition his Venus.
The Venus-Saturn issue manifested in their relationship.

Chart d.o.b. Broadwell, transits for d.o.b. Petraeus

Both David Petraeus and Paula Broadwell have a Venus-Saturn aspect in their charts. They share a Venus-Saturn aspect and a Venus-Saturn experience. Quoting myself:
Venus-Saturn: staying together as long as possible because love is a serious thing. And if you break up (possible with conflicts and supported by more indications) the pain is long felt."
Venus-Saturn is about:
- keeping up appearances in love
- everlasting ... uh....love?
- marriage of convenience
- love hurts (especially when you are young)
- the hard side of love
See http://www.astromarkt.net/saturn-in-love.html )

With Venus-Saturn there are children, a mortgage, parents, matters of status or other reasons for NOT separating and staying together, sometimes long after love has gone. A marriage of convenience, from the start or in the end, is often reflected by Venus-Saturn. What is decent and what will 'they' say? That is the question for Venus-Saturn. Guilt, tears, remorse and hurt loved ones are around those who face the facts of a Venus-Saturn aspect combination when the marriage or relationship fails.  Venus-Saturn is for when love hurts (you or your loved ones) and when affairs are painful.

PS Her Saturn is also inconjunct the Mars of David Petraeus. Mars-Saturn relationships CAN hurt.

Juno and the engagement of Princess Madeleine

Princess Madeleine of Sweden is engaged, again (Daily News reports: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/sweden-princess-madeleine-engaged-article-1.1191850 ). Juno is on her Progressed Ascendant now.

In 2010 her long time relationship with fiancé Jonas ended. I blogged about that moment (here is the link) and showed you that there was a complicated composition of sad transits and progressions with one exception: JUPITER
Jupiter is the symbol of traveling, having success or being supported. Jupiter is a positive sign and often indicates the bright side in a bad situation.  Transit Jupiter was opposition her Midheaven and so she went to the USA. That is where she met Christopher O'Neill. Happy again!

I studied the chart, progressions and transits and found an interesting transit of Juno (symbol of marriage) exactly at the progressed Ascendant (horizon…). Marriage IS on the horizon when you get engaged. Juno, in mythology, is Jupiter's wife.

Does Juno reflect Mr or Mrs Right, I asked myself in an earlier blog. I mentioned a few examples and one of those was... myself. Juno is important in my chart. She rises before the Sun and that is a prominent position. I am married, yes, since many many years. Juno was square my Moon and trine my Ascendant when I first met him. But in December 1977 transit Juno was on my Sun/MC when I moved (we moved closer to my family in law). And on other occasions I can't remember what happened. It would be dramatic if transit Juno  indicated 'Mr. Right' every time. That is because Juno moves quickly. Every 4 to 5 years transit Juno is conjunct my Sun and MC, for example. She will be conjunct my Sun and MC on November 20/21 2012 and that is very very soon....!!!

My conclusion was that it takes more than a transit of Juno to meet Mr. Right, but IF you make an announcement or IF you have an important moment regarding marriage, watch Juno. She might be there...

(If anything important happens, I will let you know...)

Venus quindecile Venus: obsessive love?

Venus is about to make a quindecile with my Venus (and an opposition with my midpoint Sun/Moon). It happened before, but I never noticed the aspect. A quindecile is the symbol of obsession and strong focus. Venus is about love and pleasure. It seems OK to love to have fun and it is still weekend:). Maybe it is about the choco softies?

I remember a Venus quindecile Venus synastry and today is a perfect day to tell it again.  Today is the birthday of late Coco Chanel. During the Second World War she fell in love with a German officer and it is believed that the relationship continued even after war. She never married. Her Venus was quindecile his Venus, obsessive love...Is that good or is that bad? It certainly was difficult in WW2.

LINKS
I have written about her controversial love before. His Uranus - her Sun and vice versa seems a very efficient way to mirror how shocking their love was in those days. http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/08/coco-chanel-in-love-and-war.html

Though it is good sometimes to have a strong focus, it is sometimes bad. Ahmadinejad has Mars quindecile Pluto and that provides him with a very strong focus on political struggle, use and abuse of power etc.  Portugese Carlos Cruz has Venus quindecile Pluto in the chart.
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2010/09/carlos-cruz-venus-quindecile-pluto.html
I quote:
Carlos Cruz, a Portugese television celebrity, has been found guilty of child abuse in the Casa Pia Child sexual abuse scandal. The orphanage children came forward with their stories in 2002. Cruz was arrested in 2003. On September 3, 2010 Cruz got 7 years and I read that he might be released in 2014, with progressed Sun -> Jupiter. Just like in a few other cases of abuse*), there is aVenus-Pluto aspect in the chart of Cruz: Venus quindecile (165 degrees**) Pluto.

PS Today is also the birthday of Bill Clinton, who has transit Venus square his natal Venus and semi square the natal Sun today.

What happened in 1958 ? This...

One blog ago I presented a guess chart and asked you to to try to find out what happened to the lady with that chart in April 1958. Here is the answer to that question.
(See the guess chart here http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/07/guess-what-happened-in-1958.html if you want to give it a try). Here is that chart again:

CIRCUMSTANCES AND NATAL CHART!
Of course, you can't just start making a guess. You need to know about gender, culture, social position and natal chart before you start looking at the transits and progressions. I should have told the readers of this blog that it is about a not western high society lady.

1. Radix
Venus inconjunct MC: this is the aspect pointing at a position in society (MC) too much (inconjunct) related to wealth, beauty, women or being a woman (Venus). Venus is in the 5th house of children and 'the other gender' This woman didn't have children. She also never had a lover (again). But she was very rich and had a 'jet set' life.

2. Radix
Neptune square MC with Venus inconjunct MC: this combination relates the position in society (MC) to romance (Venus-Neptune) or art (Venus-Neptune). As both Venus and Neptune aren't well aspected, the nasty side of romance turns op: disillusion in marriage.

It is the chart of Princess Soraya, who married the Persian Sjah and had to leave when she didn't give him an heir. She had to leave the country, but was overloaded with money. She was never seen with another man.

Transits and progressions
1. Transit Saturn inconjunct Progressed Sun is one of the most difficult and saddest aspects. It is about losing balance because of losing status or control. The transit is EXACT on the day of the official divorce.

2. Progressed Ascendant inconjunct progressed Neptune
Neptune is confusing, but this aspect clearly shows us what is happening. She lost (inconjunct) her partner (AC/DC) and there was a negative and confusing situation. This aspect was also EXACT on the day of the official divorce.

5. Transit Juno with Sun
Juno is the symbol of partnership (Juno was the wife of Zeus). The transit shows: spotlights (Sun) on partnership (Juno). But it was not a beginning!

6. Transit Jupiter on Sun/Moon midpoint and trine Ascendant
There is help and support in the middle of the devastating situation: Jupiter. Jupiter is the planet of traveling (she went to Italy), progress and success (she became rich).

7. Solar Arc Saturnus is spot on on natal Ascendant (EXACT again)
Saturn is for departure, diverse, endings and the axis AC/DC points at relationships (again).

Now we have two inconjunctions (quincunxes: loss) and two times Saturn (endings, barriers) Sun and Neptune relate to the 7th house of marriage. We have 3 bad signs EXACTLY for april 1958. When there are more than 2 indications in a certain direction, there is the 'rule of 3': it might just happen. She didn't die. Her husband remarried and had his son (who never became a sjah). They separated. That is what happened! And the transits and (most of all) progressions are clearly indicating that something sad happened in a relationship. If you want to learn more about progressions, just use the label below to find more examples.

King Juan Carlos (Spain) and Saturn

The Spanish king Juan Carlos broke his leg after shooting an elephant (!watch Sun conjunct Pholus - the one who shot himself in the foot in a fight- in his natal chart!:). He apologized for this yesterday. His progressed Sun is conjunct Saturn now. You know Saturn? On Twitter I mentioned the correspondence between the word ‘breaking’ and the meaning of ‘Saturn’ in astrology. Saturn is also reflecting the hard times in his country, where unemployment and debts rule the headlines. The chart of a leader often mirrors the nations’ situation and/or vice versa, just like the chart of a coach is in line with the results of the team*). Hence, there are also family problems. Two of his sons in law are involved in scandals, too…It is Saturn time...

SATURN and THE ROYAL COUPLE
At the same moment that Juan Carlos said sorry for shooting the elephant, the press spoke of his mistress, a princess, and of the fact that she is not the first one.

On Astromarkt I mentioned their marriage in an article named ‘Saturn in love’: http://www.astromarkt.net/saturn-in-love.html# On Astrology&Love there is more about the couple and the way that they do or don’t ‘match’. Saturn is the glue in a marriage. Often Venus-Saturn mirrors the ‘dulce (sweet Venus) decorum (decent duty)’ of the façade of a long lasting but practically dead marriage. Saturn is about obligations, parenthood, mortgages and other kind of glue that keeps the couple together for business sake or because of responsibilities and decorum. Saturn rules Capricorn. Juan Carlos has Sun and Venus in Capricorn. Sofia has Venus trine Saturn.

SATURN's TRANSITS AND PROGRESSIONS
I like to have a look at the present positions (transits and progressions) of their charts.

The charts seem to be in line with the social position of Juan Carlos, who is being criticized because of his behavior in times of trouble. Yesterday, his wife returned from Greece (where she uses to spend her holidays) and she went to the hospital to see her husband for no more than 15 minutes. Short! That is Saturn in astrology.
  • Transit Saturn is on Sofia’s descendant.
  • Earlier transit Saturn was square her Progressed Sun and
  • Transit Saturn was inconjunct Progressed Midheaven.
Saturn can be depressing and cold (like a 'dementor'). Her husband knows, because he has Progressed Sun conjunct Saturn (and trine Pluto, so he will survive anyway as it is the 'die hard' combination).
Yes, Saturn is so conspicuous in their transits and progressions right now that you can't miss him.

! Even the chart positions of the wedding day (on May 14 it will be 50 years!) has difficulties: progressed Sun trine Neptune might make it a 'fairy tale' but there is and inconjunction of progressed Sun with Saturn and ... transit Saturn inconjunct the Sun of May 14 doesn't help much, either. I wouldn't like to invite a disproportionate Saturn on my party! (Having a broken leg when you should be dancing is never nice:).

PS about the natal chart of Juan Carlos:
- the Moon is calling (not making Ptolemeic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees) for the importance of his needs and habits and for 'involvement' at any level
- Jupiter and Pluto are angular (and the Jupiter-Pluto combination is a statement of succes);
- Neptune in the 5th house 'calling' for idealism and religion or romance...at any level;
- Saturn trine Pluto (a harmonic relationship between concentration and focus, being a 'die hard' (also for yourself) and having control): it is the tightest aspect combination and Pluto is opposition Midheaven for the importance of authority. He doesn't seem to have a problem with maintaining his status.
- the element fire is missing and maybe that is a sign for energy and drive at any possible level

The unaspected Moon and Neptune point at feelings of empathy and commitment at any possible level (up and down) and could also refer to the affairs that he had (Neptune in the 5th). Conflicts between Moon and Neptune are one of the 4 indications for divorce, specifically for men.

Romance, progressions and transit Neptune

This post is about progressions in the (no time, no name) chart of a member of a government. He is in love and the subject of discussions in the papers and on the web. It is because he is so much older*) than she is...His transits and progressions are completely in line with what happens.

The progressed chart shows development and how we grow during life. Transits with the progressed chart influence the development and the way that we grow. This example shows how the transits and progressions go along with real life events. In short:

Venus (love) and Juno (spouse) came in to join the Sun and introduce a partner. There are three indications in the progressed chart for love and three transits of Neptune (romance and ... rumor). They color the picture (rose, pink), even without hour of birth. Neptune's inconjunctions put a high weight on romance and make it 'cost you'. Inconjunctions get you out of balance.
For the longer version, continue...

Jacqueline Bouvier, chart of a widow

Following my tweet about Jacky Kennedy's chart and the publication of interviews with the former First Lady, here is the Astro.com A-rated chart with transits and progressions for today and a story about the widow in her chart.

CHART
Above is the chart with transits and progressions for now. Resonating the Neptune-MC conjunction in the natal chart, right now transit Neptune is opposition her Midheaven. That is a strong moment for revealing secrets and increased media activity. Transit Neptune is also inconjunct her progressed Venus with progressed Venus inconjunct natal IC and progressed IC inconjunct Saturn.

I included Juno (close to her Ascendant, like in the charts of Prince Albert and George Clooney). In a female's chart Juno's angularity might point at the importance of 'being someone's wife'.

JUNO AND 7th HOUSE
Maybe it is because of Juno on the Ascendant that we know Jacqueline Kennedy mostly because of her marriages:  the first with John F. Kennedy and later with Aristoteles Onassis (see post about him and Maria Callas. The importance of marriage is also visible in the seventh house, with Jupiter (an important signal for both 'the international' and 'more than one or once'...), Ceres (symbol of motherhood and dynasties) and Orcus, the symbol of broken promises.

TWO MARRIAGES AND NO DIVORCE
Jacqueline Kennedy married twice. We see Venus in Gemini, opposition Saturn. It is a contradictio in terminis.

Venus, symbol of love, is in a double bodied sign (and that says: more than once, see that post...).

Saturn, however, tends to stick to a love like a stamp to a letter.

With Venus-Saturn there are responsibilities, mortgages, children and parents to consider when love has ended and it will be hard to separate. Material things are important in a Venus-Saturn marriage.
Also, Pluto rising before her natal Sun tells us about the importance of power, influence, politics, values and the persons that you know. She had a relationship when she met JFK, with a man who didn't make enough money in her mother's eyes. It was on her mother's advice, they say, that she stopped seeing her fiancé. Venus-Saturn*): men with such an aspect are (more than women) untrue in such a dead marriage (or should I say: a love commitment with duties and obligations).

Jackie Kennedy had a husband who cheated on her and her second husband also wasn't true. But in the interviews she mentions the faults and mistakes of M.L. King and General De Gaulle and L.B. Johnson...Maybe it was too soon after the death of her husband to even slightly mention it (he was an idol!). Did she really not know about her husband's sexual adventures? There are a number of astrological reasons why she would never mention them.

1.  Venus-Saturn will do anything to keep up appearances in marriage.
2.  Neptune on Midheaven might help her to see the world from an idealistic or romantic point of view.
3. And all those trines and sextiles tend to prefer the easy way out instead of nasty processes as a divorce.
4. Even more important is the Northern Node opposition Ascendant and Juno. That strongly connects her situation and relationships to the family and the larger community. Her relationships and marriages were important for more persons that just herself...
5. Circumstances, gender, situation, culture
She was rather conservative and the sixties hadn't roared, yet, when she was married with JFK. Ladies were supposed not to see their husbands' mistresses and prostitutes at the time.

There are numbers of reasons why women don't divorce their unfaithful husbands. In her natal chart we don't see the usual 3 ' suspects' (indications for divorce): afflictions of Sun-Mars, Sun-Uranus and Venus-Uranus, either.

TWO TIMES A WIDOW
It must have been painful, just as watching her husband's violent dead. Perhaps that is the meaning of Chiron conjunct the Descendant...She became a widow twice.

BTW I just 'discovered' that the symbol of the turning point (and change), Pholus, is quindecile (165d, symbol of obsession and focus) the Sun/Moon midpoint of marriage and square Aries Point. Does that mean a strong focus on family life and the risk of the experience of important turning points in that family life?

DEATHS OF HUSBANDS
On November 22, 1963 transit Saturn was almost exactly square her natal Ascendant/Descendant. That is when her first husband died, a few months after her two day old son died. It was a hard year for her.

Here are the charts of both important moments (death of JFK and death of Onassis).

Venus and Mars 'calling'!

With a chart with important positions for Venus and Mars, we are likely to be passionate. When neither Venus nor Mars make major aspects, passions may be river deep and mountain high. Often, that is not good for reputations and careers. A 'calling' Venus/Mars midpoint can be very demanding...It is the combination of beauty, desire and preferences with action, fire and drive: the red rose.

When I read about the escapades of a Belgian female authority (filmed when she was notably having sex on a tower somewhere) I thought of Venus- Mars = passion. She was born on a day without Ptolemeic aspects for the planets of passion. That is just like in the charts of Hugh Hefner, father Lawrence Murphy. As it seems, when Venus and Mars are 'calling', sexual activity  will be prominent at any possible level and there will be passion, somehow, anyhow...and  for the Belgian woman: now...Why?

The video was made a few years back and was published now that:
  • Progressed Mars is inconjunct her natal Sun (closer than at birth, and when there was a wide inconjunct of Sun and Mars) and
  • Progressed Sun 105d natal Mars.
  • Progressed Venus is sextile Mars, also, resonating the natal importance of Venus-Mars.
That is 3x a 'hit' with one of the prominent planets involved. That is enough (rule of 3) to make the theme of passion important today.

When both Venus and Mars are prominent passion is also prominent.
It's not that there can't be other signs of passion. It just means 'any level' from zero interest to the max and back. And often uncontrolable, too, depending on the influence of transits and progressions. A 'calling Venus and Mars' is reflecting a passionate nature, often expressed in relationships and love, and fiery desires. As always it depends on status, position, gender, time in history, culture and other circumstances wether this Venus-Mars effect will make you famous or notorious (if only in your own place or family). I don't know if 'passion calling' is about sex always. So maybe the passion means a hobby of catching butterflies in someone's chart:)!
