Mars-Uranus and the terrorism in Omar Mateen's chart

A lot of killed and injured visitors of a gay bar in Orlando are  the vicims of Omar Mateen, sun of Afghan parents and born in the USA.The perpatrator of the Orlando massacre was, like his father, a fanatic moslim. The call of any imam to kill infidels fell in fertile soil with him. His chart shows a fiery character while transits and progressions repeated *) the fiery combinations:

• Sun is square Mars, transit Mars is almost exactly conjunct Sun.
• Mars is sextile Uranus, transit Uranus is now sextile natal Mars and 
• transit Uranus is almost exactly inconjunct (150d) his natal Sun and trine progressed Sun.

Again, the pattern of Sun-Mars-Uranus is clear.

Now there is such a connection, again. 

There is also Mars square Saturn in the progressed chart above. This aspect often relates to death. It is a terrible pattern. And again someone who was already a suspect managed to act before he could be arrested. I feel so sorry for the victims, their family and friends,

More persons were born on the day that this murderer was born, of course. The difference with them is that they weren’t born amid hate against those who believe or live differently or against homosexuals or women, like this man, who was known for his homophobia and who used to beat his ex-wife. They may also have nice aspects with the Moon, Ascendant or MC. These aspects are only known when the hour of birth is know. Still, those persons should be carefull now, because the transits and progressions show a risk connected with surgery, knives, guns and violence in general. Take care!

*) When a transit or progressed aspect connects two planets in aspect in the natal chart, there is a strong effect! I call that 'resonance'.

Saturn: dead ends and facing hardness

This week I noticed two examples of transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Sun and how different were they!

The first one was of a farmer who is in 'Farmer seeks wife' in my country. The people of his home town declared that they were ashamed because of his behavior towards the 3 women who are competing to become his one and only. He even got a nick name: Horny Geert (Geile Geert) and there is a little scary movie starring this man (see: http://www.luckymedia.nl/luckytv/2015/01/geile-geert/ ). In fact, he isn't that bad at all. He just faces hardness.
I wrote about his chart on Astromarkt (see: http://www.astromarkt.net/boer-zoekt-vrouw.html ) But, fortunately, the farmer lives in my country. He won't be punished, beaten or killed for kissing the ladies. It is so unlike what may happen when you live in the Middle East.

The second one was yesterday. Yesterday the world was confronted with another horrific criminal murder committed by ISIS. The cruelty and sadism of this crime made me cry. I know that we are in changing times of Uranus-Pluto and I know that Neptune in Pisces started ideological revolutions. But that doesn't change the sentiment: it felt as if they burned a neighbor's son. Muath al-Kasasbeh, a Jordan pilot in ISIS captivity,  was executed in the most cruel and painful way possible. CNN tries to explain why this might be a strategy. It seems that ISIS' supporters were asked how to kill the pilot and this might be the result of it. It is incomprehensible and goes against rule number 1 in the world: don't do to another what you wouldn't want for yourself. My transit Saturn opposition progressed Moon makes me feel very sad about what happens in the world today.

Does the chart explain why this happened to Muath now? Can a chart give us information on not natural deaths in times of war?

No. More persons were born that day. There is no hour of birth available, so that there is no information about Midheaven, Ascendant and Moon's degree. But, we know the transits and we know the progressions. but there is always a combination of indications for good or bad times. Even if we knew the hour of birth, we'd have to consider circumstances. Charts are not fate. They show us the nature of things and perspectives.

Unfortunately, the perspective of the Jordan pilot was colored by transit Saturn.

1. Transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Sun,
2.  Transit Saturn moving to a square with Mars and
3. Also progressed Sun inconjunct progressed Neptune (like in the natal chart's quincunx between Sun and Neptune).

Both Saturn and Neptune bring bad luck and sadness. Together they are the combination of involuntary detachment. Mars-Saturn is the aspect of discipline, heroes, death and all acts related to duty and discipline.  Saturn-Sun aspects often confront you with criticism (correct or not), mistakes and with endings.

It depends very much on where you are (and how old), in what condition, and in what episode of history how transits of Saturn will manifest. Your personal situation and position depends on the nations' situation. When the nation is at war, your hard transits and progressions feel and come harder (see the links below).

It is always better to avoid being in an act of war or in a situation that might harm you. It is even more urgent when you have hard transits and progressions.

They say that the murder was on January 3. ISIS published their horror movie on February 3, when the progressed Sun of the victim was exactly inconjunct transit Saturn. Transit Saturn will be exactly square Mars later. In the progressed chart, the natal Sun inconjunct Neptune got closer. It is an aspect that sometimes refers to heroes (see http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2009/05/heroes-angles-and-sun-inconjunct.html ) or should I say: martyrs?

I am grateful to live in a place where farmer's kisses lead to 'funny' movies. It is such a different movie than the one that was shown to the world yesterday...

Bad moment to act: Mars - Saturn and TV intruder

On January 29, 2014 an intruder demanded to be enabled to speak to the public on TV (see BBC for the news). Nothing much happened, except that there was no TV at all for a while and the young man quickly surrendered. He had a fake pistol. What he wanted to tell the public remains unknown.
It seems to have been a chemistry student with complot theories who lately told a friend that he 'wasn't well'. The threats (radio active bombs, hacker attacks) were as fake as his gun.

He had some serious progressions and transits (like everyone born on February 14, 1995*), repeating aspect combinations in the natal chart. The effect of transits and progressions between the same planets/lights are stronger when there is a natal aspect (however small).

It is the same in this case.

NATAL
In the natal chart we see Sun opposite Mars and Mars quatronovile Saturn.

PROGRESSED (chart of 1 day=1year)
In the progressed chart we see Sun conjunct Saturn and Sun inconjunct Mars and Mars inconjunct Saturn.

TRANSIT (actual position of Sun, Moon and planets)
Transit Mars was exactly conjunct Saturn

Mars-Saturn combinations signal  action or inactivity based upon duty, age, fear or caution, with different results 

There are two quincunxes in the progressed chart (Mars inconjunct Sun and Saturn) and there is a Mars-Saturn transit. These progressions and transits work harder because there is already such an aspect in the natal chart. What he did could have killed him. But this act definitely stopped his way of life, his study and his career. With Saturn, periods of life end. Inconjunct Mars it might be in an aggressive and unbalanced way.

There is one more repeated aspect. In the natal chart the Sun is inconjunct Chiron. On the day of his appearance on television transit Chiron was conjunct his Progressed Sun and progressed Saturn and inconjunct his Progressed Mars, to make the situation extra painful. 

Last but not least: transit Pholus sextile Sun makes it easy to shoot your own feet at a point of no return.

The lot of quincunxes (4) tell a story of giving up, being out of balance and loss. When there are 3 indications pointing in the same direction, it happens more often that there is an important situation in your life. In this case, it was a situation of decline.

In this post I don't analyse the positions on the day of birth of this young man. There are keys to the way he acted (Moon Leo for drawing attention, Sun quintile Jupiter for a creative way to make your life more than it is and other indications). 

*) If you were born that day, too, that doesn't mean that you will live a similar life or have the same kind of problems. Genes, gender, situation and circumstances color the chart. It is, however, wise to take extra care, watch out for infections and depression this year.

Chart of Harrison Ford's broken leg

Harrison Ford fell and broke his left leg on June 11, 2014.  It is a way to wish an actor good luck when you say ‘break a leg’, but generally it is not meant to happen. Let’s see if his chart is in line with the event.

There are a number of transits and some of them look like ‘breaking a leg’, but most are not exact on the day of the accident. The transits and progressions warned for being hasty, for working too hard and for minding the footsteps, but he didn't have to break a leg, as far as his chart was concerned. The situation helped. Or, do YOU have more indications than mentioned in this list:

A

Transit Saturn (transit in 2) square Mars was exact on June 4 (working too hard, perhaps)

Transit Mercury square Ascendant (on June 4, too); risk of mistakes (where is your head?)

Transit Node conjunct progressed Moon in VI (orb 30’) (group event)

B

Midpoint Progressed Sun and progressed Mars conjunct Ascendant (if 1.95d)

And if the Ascendant 4d, progressed Mars conjunct Ascendant (showing the risk of injuries)

C

More exact were:

Transit Venus ruler 1 square Mars (passion)

Transit Neptune conjunct cusp VI and trine Jupiter (stumbling over the doorstep of the house of illnesses, but getting help)

Transit Jupiter conjunct natal Moon (popularity, feeling great)

Transit Saturn trine progressed Moon in the days after (modesty, dealing with limitations)

D

The progressed Sun moving to the next sign (Libra) within a month, tells us that his life style is changing in this period.

E

Mind if I add transit Pholus (point of no return, shooting own foot) inconjunct ruler 10 in 10, the Moon, so: a turning point with a loss or having to give up on public activity? That forced him to give up and give in for a while.

What do these transits and progressions tell us? He is in a period of change to ‘another way of life’ and also in a period of risking injuries (an active period, perhaps doing it too fast, too soon). Saturn-Mars blocks energy and action (being tired).  Neptune over the door step of the house of illnesses and daily matters might stumble and fall. The trine with Jupiter helps to heal and so do the transits with Moon and progressed Moon. In fact, they increase his popularity and help him gain respect. 

So there is pain, and risks of injury but there is also passion, popularity and lots of action. It sounds like the main character in one of his movies! 

As transit Saturn will be back in the first half of September, this is not the end of the blockade of Mars (energy and activities), not yet. Later (second half of October) there is more help coming from his most prominent planet Jupiter.

The start of World War 1, the chart of Gavrilo Princip

One hundred years ago Gavrilo Princip, a nationalist Bosnian Serb, assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and Sophie, his wife. It happened on June 28, 1914 in Sarajevo.  A newspaper said today that he is the most successful terrorist ever, because eventually he reached his goal, long after death, however. Let’s see his chart with transits and progressions for the day of the murder.

What kind of a chart has he? Here you see the natal with transits and progressions for June 28, 1914.

I think that first of all he wanted to be significant (Sun calling!) and successful. A key characteristic is that he is o do-er (active, aggressive) and serious, too. He is a believer/follower or has followers with Jupiter/Neptune angular. 

The most personal and individual points in a chart are the midpoints AC/MC and Sun/Moon. They show us what might happen. His AC/MC is in hard aspect with the Northern Node, telling us about the importance of groups and being part of it.

His Sun/Moon is in hard aspect with Mars/Uranus (the midpoint of acceleration and accidents, surgery, taking measures right away, terrorism and freedom fighters).  Sun/Moon midpoint semi square Quaoar definitely gives away what he intended to do and what motivated him: shaping a whole new reality, a new world, by means of an act of surprise.

Also, the tight aspect 'Sun square Pholus' seems to fit the idea of shooting your own feet being the catalyst. 

A key aspect is Mars opposite Saturn on the meridian (discipline, the importance of death and death ends, ‘heroism’). It is an aspect for a warrior or a soldier, someone with a deathly weapon. The placement on the meridian tells us about the importance of this aspect.

Eris, exactly square his Ascendant, symbolizes discord and disharmony.

There are more details, like the placement of the 'calling' Sun in the eight house, but why mention all the details? We could also have a look at the situation. He was very young and part of a group named 'The Black Hand'. He was ill. He was small and he was weak. And still, he managed to became notorious (Sun), a questionable hero (Mars opposite Saturn) and a person who succeeded (Jupiter transits/progressions) to become the symbol of a turning point in history (Sun square Pholus) when he acted on impulse with heart and soul (Sun/Moon - Mars/Uranus) to create (Quaoar) a change. 

Killing a monarch is not the way we like to change the world. This killer had Uranus inconjunct Pluto on the day of his birth in the year of the Dreyfuss affair (see: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/04/w.html ) On the day that he successfully assassinated the (in his eyes) suppressor of his people, he had transit Jupiter sesquisquare progressed Midheaven and opposite progressed Sun.

He was content.  One hundred years later most of his goals have been reached.

THE DAY OF HIS DEATH

He died within 4 years of tuberculosis. Previous to his final day, transits of Saturn and Neptune had already weakened him. They even had to amputate his arm. See the chart:

On his final day he had an astrological significant aspect combination for a final day: the progressed ruler of the 4^th house (ruling the Moon, ruler of the 8^th house) was conjunct the Moon, ruler of the 8^th house. The 8^th house is the house of crisis, life and death. The 4^th house is about (as I see it) ‘going home’ (back to basics).  There is again a Sun-Jupiter aspect. The progressed Sun sextile Jupiter ruler 1 made it easy to move on to a better place.

Chart of Rik Mayall

At the age of 56 years the man who made me laugh so often, Rik Mayall, suddenly died on June 9, 2014. It is still unclear what was the cause of death.

Rik Mayall was born on March 7, 1958 in Harlow (UK) at 3.30 a.m. (says Astrodatabank). That gives him a chart with a clear pattern of artistic talent*). Look at the charts below and what you see is:

- Venus trine the elevated Moon in Libra and
- Venus square Neptune
- Venus square Midheaven
- Neptune on Midheaven

This  in combination with the Pisces Sun in the second house of public performance. Also watch the creative (bi)quintiles of Sun and controversial Uranus with Ascendant..joined by Jupiter and Neptune for the fans.

Rik Mayall worked hard to gain his status. Saturn is 'calling' (no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees) and highlighted (square Sun/Moon midpoint) as an indication of ambition, all that is 'official' and serious, and of the importance of parents (and parenthood), business, management and duty. His parents taught drama and he studied drama at the University of Manchester.  Saturn is for classics...

It's rarely enough to have talent and ambition. Rik Mayall had Sun sesquisquare Jupiter and quatronovile Pluto (a combination for self confidence and success). The Venus-Jupiter-Neptune aspect combination is a key to popularity.

TRANSITS AND PROGRESSIONS 1998 and 2014

The transits and progressions at the time of the serious quad bike accident of 1998 were rather clear about injuries. See transit Saturn square Mars (dead end) and transit Chiron inconjunct P IC on that day. Transit Mars (not visible in the picture) was conjunct Progressed Sun.

There are only a few transits and progressions on the day of his death
1. Transit Saturn semi square Ascendant for a frustrating delay or end.
2. Transit Mars inconjunct progressed Sun (Mars was in the 12d of Libra that day) for an attack with a loss or imbalance involved.
3. Transit Uranus semi sextile natal Sun (a shock or surprise)
That is a trio for an unexpected dead end (but not always!).

(The progressed Sun had already been perfecting a sesquisquare with Saturn 4 months earlier).

Just like on the day of the accident there was a transit of Mars with Progressed Sun. In 1998 - accident - it was a conjunction. In 2014 - when he died - it was an inconjunction.

Mickey Rooney, life, death and chart

Mars-Saturn is one of the symbols of death (and other things*). Transit Saturn was square Mickey Rooney’s progressed Mars and semi sextile his natal Venus when he died, age 93 (!and they didn’t want him to serve in the army because of his heart!). Also transit Pluto was opposite his progressed Moon in 8. More transits and progressions accompanied him on the final journey, like transit Jupiter in 8 square Mercury and Jupiter also trine progressed Ascendant. Jupiter is often visible in the chart of someone who was very old or ill and died (See Jupiter, when you die). 

Finally, there was transit Uranus trine Mars to make it fast. 

URANUS SQUARE SUN/MOON

Mickey Rooney was an actor. First of all, he had ambition and followed his parents (Vaudeville artists) in their footsteps (Saturn rises before his Sun). In his branche he was exceptional (Uranus square Sun/Moon midpoint) because of his size. Uranus with Sun/Moon is not a guarantee for a long lasting marriage, so it is not surprising (sic…) that he married 8 times.

VENUS CALLING!

Rooney’s chart is a B-rated chart so that the Ascendant, MC and Moon may not be correct and only those transits and progressions in blue are valid (whatever hour of birth). The pattern of artistic talent is mostly formed by minor or major aspects between Moon, Venus and Neptune related to Midheaven. In this chart we see Moon 105 degrees Venus and opposite Neptune but no aspect of Moon-Venus-Neptune with MC. The Midheaven ruler is Mercury in Libra and as Venus is in Libra, too, Venus is the final ruler of the MC. That makes Venus double as important as Venus already is, because: Venus is ‘calling’. Entertainment, love, women, talent, diplomacy and everything nice and pretty would be manifested in his life, somehow, anyhow and at any possible level. Didn’t it?
