Krissie Brown dies

When Krissie Brown was found in a bathroom, unconscious, just like her late mother Whitney Houston before, transit Neptune was on her MC. In the natal chart of Krissie Brown Neptune rules Midheaven and is in the 8th house of life and desth, just like Uranus. Now, with transit Uranus exactly square Nepune,  she died. Conflicts Uranus-Neptune are conflicts between wake and sleep.

This Uranus-Neptune conflict also pops up when there is a hoax or a hype (false news, a flash of gossip). There have been a few false announcements of death in her case lately. This time it seems to be real. In accordance with the symbols of Neptune and Uranus in 8 she suddenly passed away softly in her sleep.

Grand duchess Anastasia June18, 1901 - July 17, 1918

For years there was a rumor that Grand Duchess Anastasia survived the slaughter in Russia, but it seems that she was murdered together with her family members on July 17, 1918. Her chart shows hard transits on that day:

1. Transit Mars sesquisquare Sun (being targeted, risk to get hurt)
2. Transit Uranus ruler 8 inconjunct Ascendant (a nervous shock and possible deadly incident)
3. Transit Pluto square Progressed Midheaven (stress and dangerous position)

As there are 3 violent aspects at the time, there is a risk for a major dangerous event. With the involvement of the 8th house, this crisis could end life itself.

In the natal chart we see (apart from an angular Mars), Ceres (dynasty, genes) square the Ascendant (circumstances, name, appearances) and Pholus (turning point, trigger point) reflecting the changing circumstances related to the importance of being a member of the Tsar's family.

The body of Anastasia was lost for decades and impostors tried to make the world believe that she was the sole survivor. For more about Anastasia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Duchess_Anastasia_Nikolaevna_of_Russia

Transit Moon in 8 experience

Today, with transit Moon in my 8th house, exactly (!) square my natal Moon, I watched a little fluffy sparrow die in an old shoe box on my table. It is perhaps a bit silly to get tears in your eyes for a baby sparrow if you are not a vegetarian. And why be mad at the puppy? It is an animal and we eat chicken, too. She just snatched something interesting on the way that didn't fly away when she got near, even not when I ran to it. The puppy dropped the bird at command, but of course, it got hurt. Maybe it was hurt already, because why didn't it fly? It didn't get up, again and I didn't want to kill it. What to do now? Fortunately, there is a bird ambulance in town and they promised to come and collect the bird. But after about an hour of waiting for the bird ambulance the little one died.

I had hoped that they would have come to get her before the Moon square Moon, but unfortunately not. This transit occurs every month. Sometimes when I sleep, sometimes when I don't pay attention to transits of the Moon. But I will, from now on. Because it is rather special, this moment of death in the house.

And it was such a sweetie!

Isn't it strange that in a world full of violence and war, a little bird dying touches you? And that it happens when your chart says that you will be moved related to a case of life and death?

Sad birthday for Bobby Brown

His daughter is in coma, with little chance to recover. No birthday celebration yesterday for father Bobby Brown. I wrote about his chart and life before ( http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2010/04/bobby-brown-lives.html ) so I will limit this post to the transit and progressions relatd to his sad situation. Look at transit Saturn ruler 1, opposite Progressed Moon in V (house of children), for example. This is a sign for sadness, in most cases.

Of course, Bobby Brown's chart has more indications at the same time, or else it wouldn't be that bad. Transit Pholus on pr MC, for example, refers to a turning point and transit Pluto near AC mirrors stress. There are benefics as well, coming from Saturn. Saturn ends, Saturn earns respect and Saturn is the symbol of parenthood, too. In short, the chart tells us about worries for others or because of others (Moon opposite Saturn) with stress and intensity around (Pluto-AC) at a turning point in family or social status (Pholus-MC). It is not so that the chart is predicting anything. The chart is just in line with the feelings right now.

Daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has Neptune in 8, just like her late mother Whitney Houston, who drowned in a bath. It seems that Bobbi couldn't live with the death of her mother. On February 2 I tweeted about her chart:

Saturn and Queen Elizabeth I's chart at time of death

Queen Elizabeth I (born September 7, 1533) died March 24, 1603, age 69. That was with Transit Saturn exactly conjunct her progressed Sun. It was not the only aspect (when important things happens, there is always more..like here Mars-Uranus and Sun-Eris). Transit Saturn conjunct progressed Sun was by far the most important aspect that day, for two reasons:

1. Saturn is important in her chart, because Saturn rises before her natal Sun.
2. In the natal chart the Sun is sextile Saturn. That makes any Sun-Saturn contact of vital importance.

Sun-Saturn aspects mark the serious view of life. She happened to be depressed because of the loss of a friend and the betrayal of a man she trusted. Unfortunately, the Sun rules the 8th house and is IN the 8 house. The 8th house is the house of crisis.

The chart of Elizabeth I mirrors what happened (depressions, goodbyes) and that it had effect on her health and way of life.

Bad news for Pope Francis

The chart of Pope Francis was hit today by ruler 8 Uranus (opposite Ascendant) and the natural ruler 8 Pluto conjunct ruler 3 Mercury. In the progressed chart MC and Mercury are square now. This picture of the sky accompanies bad news (see ABC http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-08-19/three-pope-francis-relatives-killed-in-car-crash/5682610 ). Family members died in a car accident in Argentina.

The 8th house is the symbol of crisis, life-and-death moments and changes (definite ones). Uranus' transits may be shocking. Pluto refers to stress, problems and challenges. The combination of Uranus and Pluto is often the symbol of crisis. Mercury and the 3rd and 6th house are related to relatives like brothers and sisters, nephews and cousins, aunts and uncles. Mercury is also the symbol of traffic and communications.

It seems that those 3 actual aspects picture the situation, but like in every case: it's not so vice versa and there need not be a death in the family just because of those particular transits and houses. That is because the astrological vocabulary has a range of words and meanings for every single symbol. The 8th house is also the house of your partner's money, for example.

Chart of the late Robin Williams

Robin Williams, a talented and beloved movie star, died yesterday. It was:

1. when the progressed Sun had entered the final degree of Virgo (about to change sign).
It means that life or lifestyle is about to change. The period before and just after the changing sign of the progressed sun is an unstable period.

2. when progressed Mars was exactly on his natal MC. Mars is in the natal 8th house of crisis (life and death)
In the natal chart Mars is rising before the Sun. It is a position for an activist, for a do-er, for someone who is not likely to sit back and wait for the good times.

3. with transit Saturn on the midpoint Ascendant/Midheaven and almost conjunct Sun/Moon midpoint. Saturn's crucial and highlighted position marks endings, setbacks, depressions...

4. when the retrograding transit Pluto had been (again) opposition natal Mars and Uranus (and was on the midpoint Mars/Uranus); the Mars-Uranus-Pluto combination is about crisis.

5. with progressed Ascendant semi square the natal Sun/Moon midpoint and highlighted his situation.

6. with progressed Ascendant also quindecile (165 degree aspect) Pluto, for a focus on the planet of stress and crisis

6. when progressed Mercury ruler 8 was moving to an inconjunct with Jupiter. Mercury-Jupiter is the combination of successful decisions, but an inconjunct in between speaks of lost balance and loss.

7. with transit Mercury ruler 8 on natal Midheaven

8. and it happened to be a transit Sun conjunct Pluto day for Robin Williams. Those days are more complicated and dangerous than other days are. (As my site Astromarkt has been hacked, I can't link to the article about solar transits and the nature of the days, sorry.)

9. Progressed MC quindecile Jupiter doesn't seem to fit in the list, but there is often a Jupiter aspect involved when a person dies. Maybe because Jupiter is the planet of the great voyage... See 'Jupiter when you die': http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/08/jupiter-when-you-die.html

10. The important transit of Saturn had been over his Ascendant and was in the first natal house. Transits of Saturn are often depressing and force you to face the facts of life.

Also, the solar return chart for Chicago (place of birth) has Saturn on Midheaven. It might just be coincidence, of course.

On important moments in life, we use to see a lot of transits and progressions. The list above shows the amount of them on August 11, 2014. At least 5 of the above mentioned points are related to the 8th house of death, but still this wouldn't have to mirror the end of life. Astrology, like statistics, doesn't work the other way around. And it takes a natal chart to start with.

Robin Williams' natal chart has an usual pattern of artistic talent compared to the artists on my site Art&Astrology. The sensitive and amorphous Moon in Pisces opposition the planet of art, Venus is in a way (as Pisces is the 'house sign' of Neptune) a variation on the theme Moon-Venus-Neptune. Leo MC is for the star. The culminating Mercury tells us about the importance of communications. He 'quickly mastered dialects', says Wikipedia and Mercury's prominence mirrors that. Mars rising before the Sun and Out of Bounds is in line with the fact that he was called 'hyperactive' when he was young. The inconjunct of Sun and Chiron shows us that there is something wrong and healing was needed (from the start).

Here is the chart with transits and progressions for yesterday.

The start of World War 1, the chart of Gavrilo Princip

One hundred years ago Gavrilo Princip, a nationalist Bosnian Serb, assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and Sophie, his wife. It happened on June 28, 1914 in Sarajevo.  A newspaper said today that he is the most successful terrorist ever, because eventually he reached his goal, long after death, however. Let’s see his chart with transits and progressions for the day of the murder.

What kind of a chart has he? Here you see the natal with transits and progressions for June 28, 1914.

I think that first of all he wanted to be significant (Sun calling!) and successful. A key characteristic is that he is o do-er (active, aggressive) and serious, too. He is a believer/follower or has followers with Jupiter/Neptune angular.
The most personal and individual points in a chart are the midpoints AC/MC and Sun/Moon. They show us what might happen. His AC/MC is in hard aspect with the Northern Node, telling us about the importance of groups and being part of it.
His Sun/Moon is in hard aspect with Mars/Uranus (the midpoint of acceleration and accidents, surgery, taking measures right away, terrorism and freedom fighters).  Sun/Moon midpoint semi square Quaoar definitely gives away what he intended to do and what motivated him: shaping a whole new reality, a new world, by means of an act of surprise.
Also, the tight aspect 'Sun square Pholus' seems to fit the idea of shooting your own feet being the catalyst.

A key aspect is Mars opposite Saturn on the meridian (discipline, the importance of death and death ends, ‘heroism’). It is an aspect for a warrior or a soldier, someone with a deathly weapon. The placement on the meridian tells us about the importance of this aspect.
Eris, exactly square his Ascendant, symbolizes discord and disharmony.

There are more details, like the placement of the 'calling' Sun in the eight house, but why mention all the details? We could also have a look at the situation. He was very young and part of a group named 'The Black Hand'. He was ill. He was small and he was weak. And still, he managed to became notorious (Sun), a questionable hero (Mars opposite Saturn) and a person who succeeded (Jupiter transits/progressions) to become the symbol of a turning point in history (Sun square Pholus) when he acted on impulse with heart and soul (Sun/Moon - Mars/Uranus) to create (Quaoar) a change.

Killing a monarch is not the way we like to change the world. This killer had Uranus inconjunct Pluto on the day of his birth in the year of the Dreyfuss affair (see: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/04/w.htmlOn the day that he successfully assassinated the (in his eyes) suppressor of his people, he had transit Jupiter sesquisquare progressed Midheaven and opposite progressed Sun.
He was content.  One hundred years later most of his goals have been reached.

THE DAY OF HIS DEATH
He died within 4 years of tuberculosis. Previous to his final day, transits of Saturn and Neptune had already weakened him. They even had to amputate his arm. See the chart:

On his final day he had an astrological significant aspect combination for a final day: the progressed ruler of the 4th house (ruling the Moon, ruler of the 8th house) was conjunct the Moon, ruler of the 8th house. The 8th house is the house of crisis, life and death. The 4th house is about (as I see it) ‘going home’ (back to basics).  There is again a Sun-Jupiter aspect. The progressed Sun sextile Jupiter ruler 1 made it easy to move on to a better place.

RIP Sue Townsend (on her chart)

Do you remember 'The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole?' Well, I do and when I do, I smile. It was such fun! The author, Sue Townsend, died yesterday. She had diabetes and had lost eyesight lately. Here is the chart with transits and progressions for yesterday and what do we see:

The book on a teenager is being reflected by the 'calling' Mercury (communications!) in the third house, close to the Moon (children, a.o.) rising before the Sun.

For diabetes: Venus opposite Jupiter and Ceres is 'calling'.

For the day of death:
- Progressed MC inconjunct Mars in 8 (definitely lost energy)
- Progressed Sun conjunct Uranus and trine Jupiter (for a relief)
- Transit Jupiter and Uranus in aspect with the natal ascendant (relief again).

The Pluto-MC renovation

Next week my house will be upside down. The old kitchen will have to make place for a new one. That sounds simple, but it isn’t. Things got more complicated due to an inflammatory condition of my lungs, the start of pneumonia. (Not bad enough to stop me from blogging…)

The chart says:
- Progressed MC opposition(
- transit Mars conjunct Neptune ruler 1 on the eve of the works

This happens shortly after Progressed Moon square Pluto (and transit Saturn involved in this). This also happens right after Mars square Sun/Moon and transit Saturn opposition progressed Moon. And yes, Venus is retrograde, but she wasn't mid November, when the kitchen was bought. I think that Pluto has the starring role now.

When Pluto is around, it becomes difficult, complicated and challenging. How else can you have the promised stress?:) In my case the aspects are even more important. That is because I have an exact natal trine between MC and Pluto, ruler 8 in 6.  So, MC-Pluto lands in fruitful ground and as an astrologer, I am happy to see how the symbols correspond with my condition. Still, I have some objectionsJ

Time, money and schedules. Every renovation has time and money complications. Ours, too.
We tried to call, mail, SMS and write to the builders, contractors and renovators in vain, for weeks, starting mid November. They kept us in the dark about prices and schedules. Pluto is for the price to pay and I had no idea that I would follow the footsteps of all those renovating families on TV and have to add 25%.

There is also more work to be done than expected. And why do I have all that stuff? They say that it is good to throw away something old when you buy something new (or better, to start cleaning in order to make place). Yes, I threw away things that I hadn't used in 15 years! I recently cleaned and organized the garage, too. But somehow it is full again! It just happens… With Pluto, you have to go to the bottom of it (and right now 80% of the floor is occupied).

The latest complication is my health (starting pneumonia, more seriously if the medication - Prednison, for example - fails).  A couple of days ago - transit Mars and Saturn-Moon - we caught a virus. After that I couldn't breath like I used to. I have to avoid any dust next week (and wonder how!). So now I am rather tired and in bed a lot, hoping for better times soon.

Next year Progressed MC will be opposition natal Pluto (and no more other Pluto's). I hope that it will be about the bathroom…and only the bathroom.

Renovations… It is just supposed to be fun with a happy end and it probably will.

Question:
When you renovated (part of) your house, did you have a Pluto progression or transit?

Jupiter when you die

If a chart, calculated for a time of birth, would give us the time of death, precisely, we wouldn't be happy but scared.  We are lucky that there aren't such charts. Being born on the same day, place and hour doesn't mean you will die on the same day (see that post: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/02/born-same-day-die-another-day-time-twins.html on time twins).

Charts can be read only in the context of culture, gender, genes, age and condition/situation. Changing the context helps a lot when a chart receives hard transits. That's, by the way,  an encouragement to make the world a better place and to try to have some peace.*)

We expect hard and nasty aspects for a day of death, but the truth is, that there is often a transit of Venus (to make things easier) or Jupiter (to improve a situation). When people say 'it was better for him (or her)…' there is often a Jupiter transit. Jupiter helps. Jupiter is the symbol of the doctor. But Jupiter is also the symbol of a passage, a voyage, moving on…

Yesterday Prince Friso, King Willem Alexander's brother died, age 44, while transit Jupiter was trine his natal Moon (11th Scorpio) and in the 8th progressed house (where the progressed Moon was, too). Jupiter trine Moon is one of the best aspects a person can get. And sometimes Jupiter simply accompanies death. Prince Friso was in coma for 1,5 years following a ski accident.

Here is the progressed (!) chart of Prince Friso, with transits and progression of yesterday.
*) See about Sun-Saturn square in time of war: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2009/05/transit-saturn-square-sun-during-war.html

LINKS
I like to see Jupiter in the charts of moments of death as the symbol of the assistance (comfort, guiding) of those around and as the symbol of passing away/on.  There are several posts on this subject (http://astropost.blogspot.nl/search/label/Jupiter.%20Life%20and%20death)

There were a lot of heavy transits and progressions on the day of the ski accident. See that post: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/02/accident-and-chart-of-prince-friso.html
It is a long list of unfortunate transits and progressions for a man who went out in the snow when there was a high risk of avalanches. An accident never comes alone...'

In 'The reflection of difficulties' you read about the transits and progressions with the chart of Princess Mabel, now Prince Friso's widow: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/02/reflection-of-difficulties.html
Her birthday was on August 11, one day before her husband died. Her solar return chart has Neptune on the Ascendant and this Neptune is inconjunct ruler 7. This goes together, among other indications, with Progressed Mars inconjunct natal Moon and Progressed Moon + P Ceres square Sun.

Chart of Arthur Ashe (born July 10, 1943)

Arthur Ashe was born on July 10, 1943. He was a successful tennis player who unfortunately suffered from hereditary heart disease. He died because he became infected with AIDS when they operated him in 1979 and 1983.

NATAL CHART
His natal chart has Saturn rising before the Sun (pointing at ambition and the importance of parents and parenthood). This Saturn is exactly inconjunct Pholus in the 4th house and rules the 4th house of family matters. In the 8th house of death Uranus (surprise) is conjunct Ceres (genes). There is also Mars/Saturn midpoint semi square Descendant to show the issues of both discipline and death on the horizon.

It is no surprise that he wrote a book. Mercury is elevated and 'calling' (no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees), so communications is ringing.  Mercury is also important for tennis as Mercury rules the arms.

SUCCESS
I like to point at Mars square Jupiter and Pluto. The combination of Mars, Jupiter and Pluto increases energy and drives. This is one of the key combinations for success. Jupiter and Pluto are in the 10th house of career, also stimulating and empowering ambition.

SURGERY, AIDS and MOON-SATURN
The surgery of 1979 (december 13) was with transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Moon and transit Neptune was square Progressed Venus*, natal ruler 1 and 8).
When he found out that he had AIDS transit Saturn was opposition progressed Moon. Saturn-Moon transits go together with nasty moments to remember. In line with the alarming message, transit Uranus was square his progressed Mercury in September 1988, when they told him.

Here you see natal with transits and progressions on December 13, 1979.

The sex incident in the chart of John Wayne Bobbitt

John Wayne Bobbitt was born March 23, 1967. We know him because his wife cut off his penis on June 23, 1993, now almost 20 years ago.

There are few men who beat up their wives and get such a violent answer. Most of them get away with it. So there must be some sign of 'punishment' in his natal chart and there is.  It is Mars inconjunct (quincunx) Saturn and Sun.
Saturn rules the 8th house of life, death and sex. Mars is the ancient ruler of the 8th house and rules the male sexual organs. Inconjuncts reflect loss. So Mars inconjunct Saturn ruler 8 is a perfect way to describe discipline (Mars-Saturn) or being disciplined  and losing (inconjunct) a sex organ (Mars).***)
This is of course not the only indication for getting hurt, related to the other gender. Let's see how his chart looks like.

  • No placements in air signs, except for the Ascendant. Means that you can't always reason with him. On Astromarkt you find this:

No air:Social contacts are an issue. Sometimes unreasonable, sometimes very bright...

  • Saturn rises before the Sun and is conjunct Sun. Both are inconjunct Mars. Means that the issue of death, discipline and punishment is a theme in his life, however: with a lack of balance (his way to punish his wives, and the punishment that he got).  Sun-Saturn is the aspect of the will to be in control (like managers and dictators are). With Saturn rising before the Sun he faces restrictions related to discipline, being disciplined and matters of life and death.

  • Mars is novile Uranus. This minor aspect shows that he rejoices at fast sudden actions (like accelerated speed and sudden explosive anger). As Uranus holds a key position (square Ascendant) this is an important aspect in the chart of THIS man, born at that time and place.
  • Pholus and the Moon are angular. Moon and Pholus are symbols of change.
- Pholus (IMO) is also a phallus symbol.*). With Pholus conjunct Midheaven the social position of a person is likely to reach a turning point at some time in life. Think of Susan Boyle.
- The Moon is a female symbol and the symbol of education (in the first years), taking care and those who take care of you, needs and habits or customs.

  • Mars is novile Uranus + Moon biquintile Saturn and square Neptune + Venus is quatronovile Neptune: those are all 4 of the aspect combinations mentioned in 'Divorce in the chart' as a 'signal' for divorce in the charts of men, except that only one of the four aspects is considered to be an affliction.

- Minor aspects are 'hidden' aspects of a character or person. They don't show up at first sight. The novile is 1/3 of a trine. The quatronovile is 4x a novile. This minor aspect Venus qn Neptune says that he is a romantic guy. You wouldn't believe it, perhaps, but he kept sending Valentine cards to his ex. The biquintile is 2x quintile (Moon-Saturn biquintile = creative way to control emotions).

Midheaven and Ascendant are related to the exact time and place of birth. No other person (usually) has the same combination of Ascendant and MC degree with the Moon and Sun/moon.

  • Midheaven makes a few intersting aspects, like Neptune square Midheaven (and Lilith semi square) Midheaven. Together with the conjunctions of Pholus and the inconjunct with Jupiter, they contribute to the picture that we get from his status, career and position. (See the link to Wikipedia). Jupiter trine Neptune for example describes the movies (having an audience and fans) and being a minister and (adult) movie star.
  • The Ascendant is almost exactly square Uranus. That makes Uranus important in this chart. That is why the progression and transit with/by Uranus had such an impact.

Here is the chart of John Wayne Bobbitt with transits and progressions of the day of the incident:

SHRIEK! It's Uranus
Transits and progressions show us loss, shrieks and a world turned upside down.
- Progressed MC opposition natal Uranus
- Transit Uranus inconjunct (!) Ascendant
- Transit Neptune inconjunct (!) Ascendant
The Uranus-Neptune combination often turns up in times of a 'hype' **) and he sure was one.  Uranus is the symbol of news, excitement, surprise, accident and incident. Again there is the inconjunct for the loss.

***)
Of course, it isn't so that every person with Mars inconjunct Saturn ruler 8 will have the same experience. A chart is a description in symbols. Those symbols represent such a variety of words that in this case, for example, he could have died, too. But he didn't. He survived, was 'repaired'.

Hugo Chavez died

He was seriously ill. Now, Hugo Chavez died. He was fighting cancer.

In January I wrote about his difficult astrological positions, reflecting the situation: see that post and watch the quincunxes with Neptune, following a hard transit of Saturn (resonating the natal aspect between Sun and Saturn). All this was accompanied by the change of the progressed sun sign that indeed changed his way of life, unfortunately the bad way.

Now he died. There are a number of transits related to the 8th house of life and death, often mirroring a critical moment, and the 4th house of endings. Transit Uranus, ruler of the 8th house and transit in the progressed 8th house, too, makes 4 hard aspects. Two of them are inconjuncts (symbol of losing balance and loss). There is a third inconjunct coming from Neptune.

Here is the list, there may be even more:

- transit Uranus ruler 8th house square natal Ascendant
- transit Uranus ruler 8th house inconjunct progressed Moon
- transit Neptune inconjunct natal IC
- transit Uranus is in the progressed 8th house
- transit Uranus is inconjunct progressed Saturn
- and a sort of lost quatronovile between transit Uranus and Venus, ruler IC

If the time of birth is exact and correct, transit Neptune has just left his 8th house.

In times of trouble, when you are already ill or very weak and old, those kind of aspects are too much. As you may see in
an earlier post of January 2013

the astrological situation was far from hopeful already.

Now 3 quincunxes and 4 hard aspects of ruler 8 clearly warned for a vital crisis.
