Football with Neptune, like the Titanic sinking

Yesterday, the Dutch football team failed in many ways. They are out! It is interesting that this happens with a lot of Neptune in the charts involved (posted below):

1. Danny Blind (coach) has a progressed Sun trine Jupiter (so maybe he keeps his job), but transit Neptune is also inconjunct his natal Sun.

2. The chart of the Netherlands has transit Neptune inconjunct progressed Sun (and progressed Sun trine Saturn). Though the economy is getting better, this result and the high number of refugees have a negative influence. There is also transit Uranus inconjunct the progressed Midheaven (a number of incidents disturbing the status quo).

3. Yesterday, transit Sun was conjunct Neptune in the Dutch national chart. Transits of the Sun color your day. Neptune is often the sign of deception.

4. Robin van Persie, who shot the ball passed his own keeper, has transit Neptune opposite his Mercury now (for miscommunications), AND transit Pluto inconjunct Sun (for stress).

5. Wesley Sneijder: transit Neptune inconjunct progressed Mercury (wrong communications with a loss involved) and transit Uranus square progressed Sun (making him nervous)

Such a lot of Neptune leads a national team into the mist or maybe more like the Titanic sinking (the ship sank with Neptune inconjunct Ascendant).

Or was the Czech Republic better?:)

Chart d.o.b. and the 2015 of Forecaster Martin Armstrong

Martin Armstrong is a financial forecaster who developed his own system based on history to predict all time highs and lows, and crisis in nations. Although it is common knowledge that results from the past don't guarantee those of the future, I am interested after seeing The Forecaster (http://forecaster-movie.com/en/the-movie/ )

He forecasted a problem with the states debts in October 2015 (a close down) and - in 2014 - he saw indications for a world wide war and/or the fall of Europe after clashes with immigrants. It is not hard to predict problems in Europe, but ... in February 2014 there weren't those amounts of immigrants to house, feed and more, like today. It is a migrant crisis (see Wikipedia), during Neptune in the first 10 degrees of Pisces, like the Migration Period of 376 (see: http://www.astromarkt.net/astrology_to_study-html/neptune-in-pisces-html/ )

How are Europe, the USA and Putin doing today according to the charts?

The chart of Europe (Treaty of Rome, January 1 1958) has Neptune conjunct progressed Sun right now and that is in line with confusion, invasion and uncertainty.
Transit Pluto is opposite the USA Sun and this describes how the leading position of the USA is being challenged today.
Transit Pluto is square Vladimir Putin's Sun, even on his birthday:)

It is stressy.

Shortly, transit Neptune will hit the USA Progressed Sun as well. Neptune always offers mist and obscurity, if there is no strong ideal to 'go for' (and end up in the mist as well, sometimes:). So, the 'stars' aren't favorable. But we can all see that.

Neptune is all around. I mentioned this before here http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2015/09/syria-merkel-germany-and-astrology.html and I quote myself:

...The chart of Germany (United Germany, October 3, 1990, Berlin, zero hours) has transit Neptune in Pisces inconjunct the natal Sun in Libra. That is exactly the kind of aspect that makes it hard to deal with all the Neptunic things such as refugees, the sea, idealism, beliefs and the media. This aspect demands clarity, openness and open eyes when there is little balance and too much confusion. It is hard to do. The chart of the leader of the nation is in line with that.

As Angela Merkel's Progressed Sun is in the 24th of Virgo, quindecile (165d) transit Neptune, there will be a strong focus..

Martin Armstrong however, will see Jupiter trine his progressed Sun later this month, just like in 1989 when he forecasted the all time high (going low). There is no time of birth available, so that all I can tell you about his chart is this:

- Saturn doesn't make major aspects in sigh or orb 5 degrees. Parents! Ambition! Business!
- Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Pisces: discretion and secrets (he never gave away his source code, even not in jail and under pressure)
- Jupiter/Neptune = Sun (speculations, fans and followers, beliefs)
- Jupiter 157.5 Pluto (minor aspects, major impact; this increases confidence)

Well, time will tell if the system of Martin Armstrong can forecast major problems like wars and crashes always or if those who have been warned will be able to prevent this or...that it is just speculations. I'd rather believe that...

PS The picture is of the place where they kept Martin Armstrong for 7 years without sun or rain on his face, trying to make him give away the source code of his system (according to the movie). From the way that he has been treated you can tell how scary it is for some people if a person can really 'forecast' the future of those in power and with money.

Neptune and Max Gradel

Max Gradel, Bournemouth football player, was injured and can't play for six months. Now his Ivorian family says that this happened because they bewitched him.

If he believes that, their influence will increase, of course. Neptune is the symbol of all things that you are not certain of and can't lay your hand on: fantasy, beliefs, dreams, heaven, romance, and mysterious things like witchcraft. Both aspects refer to a negative press, too. His family complaints about him and would like to get financial help. Now they told him that they can hurt him at distance and that they are to be blamed for 6 months of misery. Wonder if that makes him send presents...:)

Sad birthday for Bobby Brown

His daughter is in coma, with little chance to recover. No birthday celebration yesterday for father Bobby Brown. I wrote about his chart and life before ( http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2010/04/bobby-brown-lives.html ) so I will limit this post to the transit and progressions relatd to his sad situation. Look at transit Saturn ruler 1, opposite Progressed Moon in V (house of children), for example. This is a sign for sadness, in most cases.

Of course, Bobby Brown's chart has more indications at the same time, or else it wouldn't be that bad. Transit Pholus on pr MC, for example, refers to a turning point and transit Pluto near AC mirrors stress. There are benefics as well, coming from Saturn. Saturn ends, Saturn earns respect and Saturn is the symbol of parenthood, too. In short, the chart tells us about worries for others or because of others (Moon opposite Saturn) with stress and intensity around (Pluto-AC) at a turning point in family or social status (Pholus-MC). It is not so that the chart is predicting anything. The chart is just in line with the feelings right now.

Daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has Neptune in 8, just like her late mother Whitney Houston, who drowned in a bath. It seems that Bobbi couldn't live with the death of her mother. On February 2 I tweeted about her chart:

Aquarius astrologer Carroll Righter

On Astropost you find charts of astrologers for almost every sun sign. They tell us about the indications for interest in astrology (or better: for a helicopter view) and they tell us in what way the sun sign of the astrologer is in line with the way that he or she practiced it. Carroll Righter's sun sign was Aquarius. He was an astrologer in the days that astrology was booming and 'The age of Aquarius' was a hit.

What he did was not new. Astrologers have been advising politicians and kings for ages and in some nations, they still do. It is an enormous responsibility and it requires some notion of politics and strategy. I remember a sad case of some years ago of an astrologer /clairvoyabt whose advices left him so poor that one of his famous clients bought him a carpet because he couldn't afford one. Some astrologers give million dollar advices for 100 box! So, amazing how wealthy Carroll Righter was! (Maybe his Venus ruler 2 in 12 square Pluto ruler 8 helped him? Or maybe American celebs are more generous:).

THE ASTROLOGER'S PATTERN
Astrologers usually have a Jupiter-Uranus 'connection', consisting of a narrow aspect between Jupiter and Uranus, the Sun or Mercury in aspect with both Jupiter or Uranus. a Jupiter/Uranus midpoint combination with Sun, Mercury or Midheaven and/or an Aquarius Sun in aspect with Jupiter (or a Sagittarius Sun in aspect with Uranus). Mostly they have more of these connections, completed with a prominent Pallas (for patterns) and either Jupiter or Uranus in a prominent position. Let's see if Carroll Righter, who was a famous and successful astrologer, had this, too. Here is the chart:

There are 4 Jupiter-Uranus combinations.
1. Jupiter is conjunct Uranus
2. Jupiter and Uranus are sextile Mercury
3. Sun in Aquarius -ruled by Uranus- is sextile Uranus in Sagittarius (ruled by Jupiter) AND
4. Sun in Aquarius is in a 67.5 degree minor aspect*) with the ruler of the 10th house, Jupiter.
That is more that the rule of 3!

Neptune on IC and the 12th house Pisces Moon square Neptune/Pluto for a famous astrologer? Famous astrological advisors work behind the scenes..,So the combination is a perfect symbol for someone who discretely communicates with celebrities in the paranormal field. See how that Moon in Pisces 12 square Neptune/Pluto is reflecting the 'secret force' and paranormal sensitivity that a lot of people are afraid of? Did he really advice the Reagans?*) Or was it Joan Quigley? Or did they both?

Neptune on IC is a Neptune opposite Midheaven. This position symbolizes a career related to beliefs, ideals/ideology, media and/or mediums or... the movies! Neptune is the symbol of television and all that can't be smelled, seen or touched. It is the symbol of fantasies and what is fake.
His career started when he moved to Hollywood, a very Neptunic place...

Neptune rules his first house (Ascendant Pisces) and is calling (no aspects in orb 5 degrees), just like Saturn is. Midpoint Saturn/Neptune is connected to Midheaven and Sun by means of hard minor aspects. Saturn/Neptune is the midpoint of involuntary detachment So I found it interesting to read that he hardly ever left his spacious house in the late sixties**). That is also in line with the 12th House Moon and Pisces Ascendant. It takes some study and being alone to study charts:).

Anyway, Carroll Righter had the Jupiter-Uranus 'helicopter view' connection and Pallas in 10 for using patterns as tools to be an astrologer. He had a lot of influence and probably loved the idea (Sun trine Pluto). He made astrology popular, too. With Mars in Aquarius in the 11th house, rising before the Sun and sextile Jupiter, he also had the energy to promote astrology. This combination mirrors a drive to convince others (just like we see in the charts of the preachers in this post: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2010/12/preachers-charts.html).
There is also an important Saturn (no aspects in sign within orb 5 degrees) for an important amount of ambition.

THE GOOD MOMENTS
But it also takes good opportunities and starry moments. Righter had his one with Transit Jupiter trine his natal Sun, when Marlene Dietrich became his devoted client after having ignored his warning for an accident (and breaking her ankle).

A long long time ago, in the year that I was born, Carroll Righter became a columnist. That was with progressed Midheaven and transit Jupiter conjunct his natal Sun AND Progressed Ascendant opposite Jupiter, all that, for a golden opportunity.

Neptune and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann

There is a lot of media (Neptune) attention (Sun) for the case of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann right now. It is still a mystery what happened to the little girl. Mysteries are often accompanied by transits and progressions of Neptune. In this case there is a lot of Neptune and that is confusing. Neptune is the god of the sea who loved to make it uneasy by means of storm and mist! In the mist, spotlights may be blinding. What happened to Madeleine? It must me horrific for the family not to know the answer and never to be able to end the search. Let us hope that the attention for the case provides an answer.

You know Neptune? Neptune is the symbol of all that disappears, is fake, immaterial, fantasy, mystery, dream, beliefs and media/mediums. It means that whenever Neptune appears, there is a mist. It is like watching a movie or television: you sort of imagine yourself to be part of the play, but you are not. With Neptune, you can never be sure. Rumors: it is one of the words in the astrological vocabulary under the N of Neptune! So is gossip and bad press. Is there anything Nice about Neptune? Not much, except for romance, sweet dreams and illusions or visions that help create art. That is why Neptune is part of the astrological pattern of artistic talent that I found in so many charts of artists (see Art&Astrology). Neptune is not fit for daily life and sometimes unreal. What you see may not be what you get. When dreams turn into nightmares, a tricky Neptune may be confusing those around you and... you.

Neptune is abundantly present in the charts of Maddie and her father. Her mother's day of birth is not known. Perhaps there is a lot of Neptune in her chart, natal, transits and progressions, too. As you may see in the links, there are more of such cases with Neptune and/or intense synastry. The lives of parents, family members, partners, friends and those involved in the case are of course changed or influenced by such a case and media circus. This shows in the related aspects.

WHY SO MANY NEPTUNE?
There are a number of transits and progressions that relate people in a case (see the link and the quotes). When Madeleine McCann vanished with transit Neptune square Sun, her father had transit Neptune inconjunct Progressed Sun. Her progressed Sun was opposition his Neptune.

Unclarity and suspicion is part of the deal when Neptune is around. HER disappearance (Neptune) turned him into a suspect (Neptune). Right now there is media(Neptune)attention(Sun) for Madeleine again. Progressed Ascendant of Gerry McCann is square Neptune. There is a negative tendency coming with Neptune and sometimes Neptune means a bad press.

Neptune: you can see it coming. But what is it? And when will we know?

They said that DNA of Madeleine was found in his house (which doesn't seem to be true after all). When he confessed a murder that he never committed, a man had transit Neptune square Sun (being seen in a negative light). In the natal chart Mercury is in conflict with Neptune.

Transit Neptune conjunct my Ascendant

When Neptune crosses your horizon (Ascendant/MC), things might turn misty. Your perspective is fading, things become unclear and all kinds of ghosts (and secrets) might come out of the closet. Is that true, in my experience?

Transit Neptune is on my Ascendant and I am trying to find the meaning of it. I find myself in hospitals, doctor's offices and nursing homes more frequently than ever before. Does the nurse in me come out of the closet?:)

First hit: UNCLARITY
It happened for the first time, when I went to buy new glasses with transit Neptune crossing the Ascendant, in March. I was told that I had a serious eye problem (cataract). The consulted eye doctor said that I didn't have any eye problem at all! It was just because the person who tested my eyes used wrong material. She was not an eye doctor at all and shouldn't have mentioned it. The first hit of Neptune was about real every day focus and vision (glasses).

Second hit: HELPING
I had the second experience on September 4, when transit Uranus was square my Sun/Moon at the same time that transit Neptune was on my Ascendant. This second hit was exactly on the day that I witnessed an accident and started helping.

Clearly (sic...:) Neptune led me to doctors twice. First to consult the eye doctor (for nothing), then for another person (for something more serious).

Can't wait for the final hit, mid January 2014...:(

PS Neptune is rather important in my chart. Neptune rises before my Sun and is involved in a small trine with Sun, MC and Pluto. Neptune rules Pisces and that is my Ascendant sign. So Neptune is my ruler number 1. All this makes the transits of Neptune more important for me than for those who don't have a prominent Neptune.
For those interested in houses and rulers: Neptune is in my 7th house.

Astrology of Alfred Dreyfus' case

In some cases 'good' and 'fortunate' aspects or ' benefics' like Jupiter don't seem to help. Or do they?
I found the case of Alfred Dreyfus (October 9, 1859), whose worst and better days were reflected by a variety of aspects. Those aspects don't seem to give a simple and clear answer to the question: what happened and was it nice? After studying the astrology case of Dreyfus, I think that :
a. transits and progressions of/with prominent natal planets are more important than other transits and progressions
b. trines and Jupiter are not always beneficial at first sight (but they are, given the circumstances)

DREYFUS CASE
It was in the 19th century in France when Alfred Dreyfus was accused of treason. In fact he had been framed. It was easier to blame him, because of Anti-Semitic sentiments (Dreyfus was Jewish).

Here is the chart with transits and progressions of the day of the arrest:

There is transit Neptune trine the Sun and Transit Jupiter opposition progressed Midheaven with transit Uranus inconjunct Progressed Ascendant on the day of his arrest. A trine, Jupiter and that inconjunct Uranus... It looks as if the latter was the most important. He lost his freedom and it took 7 years to be freed of all charges. How did the trines and Jupiter 'help'? He was supported by Emile Zola who started an international campaign. Zola's Jupiter was in hard aspect with Dreyfus' midpoint Sun/Moon. Dreyfus' Mercury was opposition the Sun of Zola, who set the spotlights on his case. They shared a Sun-Neptune aspect (Zola the sextile, Dreyfus the quatronovile).

NATAL CHART
His chart corresponds with what we know about him.
a. He was a soldier. We see that possibility in the positions of Mars and Saturn.
Mars rises before the Sun for orientation on arms, activism, action and energy. Before Mars is Saturn and Saturn is 'calling' (duty, responsibility and hierarchy at any possible level). The combination of Mars and Saturn is the combination of discipline (and being disciplined).
b. He lost his freedom.
Both Saturn and Uranus don't make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. As these planets are what I name 'calling', the issue of 'breaking free' and 'restricted freedom' will be demonstrated at any possible level, somehow and anyhow.
c. Commotion and upheaval were definitely part of his career (Uranus-MC), but on the other hand he also apparently was an outsider (Uranus) among the officers.
d. In my opinion a distance of 127.5 degrees between objects in the chart, is an important distance. In this chart that is the distance between Sun and Uranus. The Sun-Uranus combination is nice for an individualist, but in a group it is often difficult not to become 'the outsider'.
e. Sun is quatronovile Neptune.
f. Mercury is quatronovile Neptune, too! There are many cases of Mercury-Neptune accusations on this blog. See the links.

A quatronovile is 4x a novile and 160 degrees. A trine is 3x40 degrees. Noviles are supposed to be 'harmonious' aspects. I think that harmonious aspects refer to smooth relationships between objects in the chart.

OCTOBER 15 1894: arrest
1. Sun-Neptune
As quatronoviles are 4x40 and trines are 3x40 they are suppused to be 'friendly', 'easy' or 'harmonic'. Use the labels to find examples of the contrary! Trine and noviles, sextiles and binoviles or quatronoviles make it easy to relate one planet to another, or in this case: the Sun and Neptune. It makes it easy to be seen (Sun) in a diffuse light (Neptune). This can be done as a hero or an angel. It can also be done the negative way.
That happened when transit Neptune was trine his natal Sun. It was easy to place him in a negative light. This transit resonated the 'sound' of Sun quatronovile Neptune. He was being framed with transit Neptune trine Sun.
2. Progressed Ascendant inconjunct transit Uranus
Inconjunct (loss) Uranus (freedom).
3. Progressed Midheaven opposition Jupiter (is this fair? that is the question of opposition Jupiter)
Jupiter symbolizes support. He got support. Emile Zola even risked prison for him! Zola's Jupiter is semi square the midpoint Sun/Moon of Dreyfus and that helps!

Maybe, if there was not Jupiter-Midheaven things had been worse for Dreyfus and he would have been convicted without anyone asking questions. And maybe even the trine of Neptune helped:an idealist and artist voluntarily helped him. Neptune, at best, is the symbol of idealism, art, belief and all that we do without gain.
Remember that Uranus is 'calling' in the natal chart! That increases the importance of transits of Uranus.

SEPTEMBER 19, 1899
He was pardonned and released out of prison on September 19, 1899. It is nice for the case of astrology that that was the day that transit Uranus was exactly conjunct his Midheaven. He got his freedom back, conditions changed and of course he was in a nervous state. The transit of Uranus was so important for Dreyfus because in the natal chart Uranus is opposition Midheaven. It means that something that is already an issue in life, is being activated.

JULY 13, 1902: free of all charges

Watch the trine of transit Jupiter with natal Sun! That is a classical happy transit. This transit was leading! You see, there is also transit Pholus inconjunct Progressed MC, symbolizing a turning point in the development of the career, with a loss involved. He could return to the army, the place where he had been framed. (Pholus was in hard aspect with transit Node and transit Chiron). What he lost were more than 7 years of his life, spent in very nasty conditions. The pain is illustrated by transit Mars sesquisquare Midheaven. But Jupiter ruled!

SO

When he got back all that he lost, transit Jupiter was trine the Sun. Jupiter rules the 10th house.
When he was arrested there was P MC opposite Jupiter, so P IC conjunct Jupiter.

When he was arrested, there was Neptune trine Sun.
In the end - free at last, cleared of all charges - he had the confusing transit of Neptune opposition Sun/Moon midpoint. He got the rank of Major later, but his health had suffered because of the years in prison.

Neptune inconjunct Varuna and the water drain

Or should the title be: Neptune inconjunct Varuna and leaking lavatories? I didn't want to be rude, but in fact: this IS about dirty water and more during Neptune-Varuna progressions.

One of my aunts is 88 years old and lives in a so called appartment building for the elderly. "So called" because lately they started filling the old and never renovated building with ex-detainees. The tattood guys live amid the feable and ill oldies. It is affordable, but since a year there are more and more problems. The carpets curl, the elevators are out of order and/or there are water problems (veteran disease risks). Worse is that this Virgo lady, who is very very clean and hates dirt, had to endure a "renovation" of the drain pipes because they were leaking from above (...) , later her toilet refused to flush and now she told me that the plumber was in her house to fix a dirty problem coming from the pipes of the upper appartments.

Of course I wondered how this was reflected in her chart. It was in her progressed chart (so it won't last forever) like this:

- progressed Neptune (sea, drain) inconjunct Varuna (waters)
- progressed Sun was trine Neptune since 5 months (she accepted that she doesn't leave her house any more now that she is ill*)
- progressed Sun square Varuna (the battle with the god of waters)

Isn't it accurate of that chart?

*) Pope Benedict also has a Sun trine Neptune progressed aspect now that he retreats.

Robert Freegard, Thierry Tilly and astrology

This blog is about the striking similarities in the charts of two conmen with a sort of a similar way to control a group of persons by imposing as a hero who is saving their endangered lives. It is an amazing story! But even more amazing is, that their Astro ID*) look so much alike! On the days that they were born the same planet (Mars) rises before the Sun and they also share four not aspected ('calling') planets (Sun, Mars, Saturn and Uranus).

Thierry Tilly, a French conman, has been sentenced to 8 years in prison this week. I read a few lines of his story and I immediately thought of Robert Freegard. In 2009 I wrote about master conman Robert Freegard. This young man managed to keep a group of students under control for more than 10 years (!!!) by imposing as a sort of a James Bond. They would only be safe as they did what he told them to do and remained isolated from the rest of society. They were poor, lonely and sad for years. It is an incredible story for those who were not part of that group.
Freegard was born March 1, 1971.

Thierry Tilly, his French counterpart, was born on March 29, 1964. He controlled a rich French family of aristocrats. In 10 years time he got 4,5 million euro to save them from ' evil'. There are links below for those who wonder how he did that. It is unbelievable that he succeeded, but he did.
I find it interesting that it isn't just the crime that has the same ingredients! Here is the picture of the positions on their days of birth and a list of similarities.

1. Sun 'calling' (no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees). That makes them 'leading'. They draw attention and are in the center of it in any possible way. They have strong ego's. People born on March 1, 1971 or March 29, 1964 want to be 'seen'.

2. Mars is also 'calling'. That is for the workaholic and the person whose energy can reach any possible level (up or down).

3. Mars rises before the Sun. That means that they have an orientation on action. People with such a position of Mars tend to be aggressive, assertive and 'do-ers'. They are the activists and the driven kind of people.

4. Saturn is 'calling' for ambition at any level.

5. Uranus is 'calling', too. Add this to Saturn and what you get is the issue of limited freedom or breaking free. They both saw prison from inside.

Robert Freegard and Thierry Tilly are both active and driven 'leaders' with an issue: they wanted to cross borders. And they did!

FANTASY WORLD
Interesting is, that Freegard is a Pisces and that Tilly has un unaspected Neptune. It takes at least SOME fantasy to create a new reality for others.
Tilly also has Sun quindecile Quaoar (an obsession regarding creating a new world). Freegard was only 21 when he started his 'game' in a period of Progressed Sun semi square Saturn and conjunct Pallas.
Tilly was already 34/35 in 1999, when he met one of the family members and was introduced in the family, during Progressed Sun trine Pluto. It was 'game over' in 2009, with Progressed Sun inconjunct Quaoar (lost brave new world:) and Transit Neptune square Progressed Sun (isolation, confusion).

DISCLAIMER
Of course not everybody born on the same day as these conmen are cons! There are many ways to break free, be in the center of attention etcetera. Gender, genes, social position and culture, together with the chart (with hour of birth) produce a variety of possible characters and lives.

It is thought provoking that two persons born on different days with an almost completely similar Astro ID did the same thing and that not everybody born on their days of birth did that same thing. Two sides of a coin?

Cruises, Pisces, Neptune and Varuna

A few months ago I booked a cruise in the Mediterranean Sea. We will sail from Venice to Barcelona, via Athens, Istanbul, Izmir, Napels and Rome. It will be our fourth cruise. Earlier we went to Norway (twice) and to the Baltic (Saint Petersburg, Helsinki, Stockholm, Kopenhagen and Tallinn; we plan to 'do' all European capitals, so still some to go:).

My Pisces Ascendant conjunct Jupiter might explain why I like cruises, even though I get seasick when it storms. This position makes it easy to spoil yourself, too! So it is perfectly in line with a relaxed (I hope!) trip at sea.

The sea is part of Pisces in the astrological vocabulary and so is Neptune. Disasters at sea happen now and then, but this ship (Costa Concordia) and the Titanic hit something solid with a (not exact) minor aspect between Neptune (god of the sea) and Varuna (the symbol of the god of the waters). The Titanic disaster had Neptune sesquisquare Varuna. Costa Concordia had Neptune biquintile Varuna. Also, the position of Varuna on January 13, 2012 is square the Ascendant of the moment when the Titanic sank. And there was Sun opposition Varuna on January 13...

It might just be coincidence. But it was reason enough for me to have a look at the astrological positions during my cruise, as Neptune (and Varuna) move slowly. Luckily there is no connection between them.

Now I wonder about captains: are Neptune, Pisces and Varuna good positions for a captain or an officer on board? Will they be attracted by the sea? Or do people with these influences act like I do: avoid a profession with lives at risk and try to have important data checked by another person, because they know that it is hard not to 'drift off' or forget about things. Neptune/Pisces is very distracting. For example: I should have done that checking when I thought to have found the day of birth of the captain of the Costa Concordia. He looks younger than he is!:)

Putin and Surkov, the synastry and Orcus

Last week there was a very interesting development in Russia. Putin appointed Surkov in his government. Surkov is the founder of a radical pro Putin movement named Nashi (see Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nashi_(youth_movement). He is also the

architect of Putin's policy to 'manage democracy' (see Wiki). The reason that I write about their chars is because of the synastry with Orcus and the similarity in their charts. And because of the strange timing of the appointment.

THE CHARTS AND THE MEN

It is clear that Surkov and Putin are strategic political comrades. What they share is the will to be in control, always (and what they don't want is criticism).

Both have a Sun-Saturn conflict in the natal chart (Putin the conjunction, Surkov the inconjunction). You know that Sun-Saturn conflicts have a problem with criticism and want to be in control, always. The fact that they share this aspect means that they will join forces to keep the status quo as it is. They are managers and they manage to be in control.

Both have Pluto rising before the Sun (and then Uranus) for strategy and policy first (and for a certain amount of radicalism). Now the synastry…and the starring role for Orcus.

They have Mars biquintile Mars, for cooperating in a creative way. They have Venus square Venus for a sort of a mutual sympathy, even though their sun signs don’t match (and neither do their moon signs*). Notice that Orcus of Putin is square the Sun of Surkov and vice versa. It says that vows, oaths and promises will be a key issue in their relationship. (There is more, like the Jupiter of Surkov inconjunct the Mars of Putin. That makes me think that the support of Surkov lead them to success but with a loss for Putin on the way).

Why did Putin make him the First Deputy Chief (see the news: http://english.ruvr.ru/2011/12/27/62994237.html) now? Isn’t it strange that this happens now that Surkov’s progressed Sun is sextile Pluto (come back, survival) and trine Orcus? And that that is shortly after transit Neptune inconjunct Surkov’s Sun? Inconjunctions of Neptune show deceptions and rumors or bad press. Demonstrations in Moscow show that the strategy isn't perfect. Surkov's progressed Sun of Surkov is applying to a square with Neptune and in my eyes, that is a sign for a bad press within 1,5 year. Again...(but maybe his personal chart with hour of birth has a better prospect for him...).

Here is the C-rated (! Take care, that means that the hour of birth might not be correct) chart of Putin. The transits are the positions on the day of birth of Surkov.

*) Which means that they are not two of a kind and that they shouldn’t get married but as there is also no conflict between the suns there won’t be a question about ‘who is the boss’.
