Getting back to Jodi Arias

On May 10, 2013 I wrote about the importance of Mars in the case of Jodi Arias and Travis Alexander. Her chart WITH hour of birth shows an even more important Mars! In the natal chart of Jodi Arias, Mars is the most important object. I'll tell you why... And I counted 4 (four) transits and progressions with Mars in the days before and after the murder. Mars is the symbol of men, sex, procreation, muscles, wounds, hits, weapons, sport, aggressions, being assertive and of getting hurt or hurting others.

NATAL CHART, SYNASTRY
You can see the post about his and her chart and the synastry here, but in short on the synastry:

- Her Mars was 112.5 d his Mars (that is a square + half semi square).
- There was also a shared minor Mars-Uranus aspect in both charts: explosive fights and ditto sex.
-Mars quindecile Eris in her chart and (as he was her age) his Eris also quindecile her Mars symbolized the obsessive war of the sexes.

Her Mars is so important because Mars is opposition Aries point and 'calling'.  It means that the energy and drive of Mars can show up anyway, somehow and at any possible level!
I also mentioned that her progressed Sun was semi square Mars and that is reflecting time for ' manifest aggression'.

MARS EVEN MORE IMPORTANT
Now the time of birth of Jodi Arias has been published by Astro.com (1.52 a.m. on July 9, 1980).

1. First observation
With the birth time at hand, it is obvious that Mars was even more important at the moment that she was born. 

• The midpoint Sun/Moon is square her 'calling' Mars opposite Zero Aries! 
• Her very important Mars is sesquisquare Ascendant. 
• Her most important planet Mars is quintile Sun for a creative way to manifest the energy and drive of Mars.

Sexuality, work, energy, action: this all motivated her, but (I think, in this case) most of all MEN.

2. Second observation:
Saturn is conjunct the midpoint Ascendant/Midheaven and trine Midheaven. This issues the need to be respected. (see: http://www.astromarkt.net/sunmoon-ascendantmc.html ) Saturn is also inconjunct Midheaven in the progressed chart. It means lost status. That might be even more important for someone with a key need to be respected.

Now we have a very important Mars and a crucial Saturn. Together they are the symbol of discipline, punishment, dead ends and death. (And how about that lonely, not aspected Juno in the 5th, inconjunct Midheaven? Transit Juno was square her progressed Saturn at the time of the murder.)

TRANSITS AND PROGRESSIONS
On the specific day we see:
1. Progressed Mars (her important Mars!) trine progressed Ascendant (taking action, opportunity to act)
2. Transit Mars was square natal Ascendant (hurt; active or passive)
Remember the natal Mars-Ascendant aspect?

3. I already mentioned: Progressed Sun semi square Mars (manifest aggression)
Remember the natal Sun-Mars aspect?

4.. In the progressed chart Mars is almost exactly opposition Eris (wartime)
Remember the natal Mars-Eris and the synastry Mars-Eris?

5. Transit Pluto is sesquisquare progressed Ascendant (forcing changes, frustrating stress). Pluto rules her 7th house of partners and is the natural ruler of the 8th house.

6. Transit Neptune conjunct Progressed Midheaven (confusion, seclusion). Neptune is in the 8th house  of sex, crisis, life and death of the natal chart.


There are 2 aspects between Mars and Ascendant (one transit/natal, one progressed) and there is a natal aspect already. The Sun-Mars quintile is being enforced by the P Sun semi square Mars.
Important events are reflected by the resonation of natal aspects by progressed aspects or by transit.
There were 3 hits with the important Mars in total. This is a strong signal for anger, being assertive and taking action. In a woman's chart it is also a signal for the importance of males.
Besides, there are 'supporting' aspects. They don't help much.

Maybe you find even more when you see this chart with transits and progressions for the day that she killed her former lover, Travis Alexander. It was on June 4, 2008.

Mars trine Saturn, Nessus and Ariel Castro's chart

Ariel Castro was born on July 10, 1960 in Puerto Rico*) with an exact trine of Mars with Saturn. Driver, meringue player and abductor, divorced after domestic violence. How does that match up with a trine? Well, trines make it easy.
Mars-Saturn is for punishment, disciplining actions and discipline in general. Trines don't mean that you use the quality for good things only. The fact that his Mars is trine Saturn doesn't mean that this date of birth is not correct. So here is the chart:

In his progressed chart Mars was inconjunct Saturn at the moment of the first abduction (Michelle Knight's on August 22, 2002). Mars-Saturn is the kind of aspect that can be used to overcome difficulties and in the army or as a hero. Mars-Saturn is also the combination of death, limited energy and drives and slapping (see http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2010/04/mars-saturn-and-slapping.html )

PROGRESSIONS AND TRANSITS
Some 10 years ago his progressed Sun was changing sign and so was his life style. Between 9 and 11 years ago he abducted three young women/girls and kept them in chains. It started on August 22, 2002 when there were the following transits and progressions:
1. Progressed Mars was inconjunct Progressed Saturn, resonating the natal Mars trine Saturn. The self discipline was lost.
2. Transit Pluto was inconjunct natal Mars (violent act, the extraordinary - inconjunct - drive to dominate)
3. Progressed Sun square Nessus (in mythology a rapist). Nessus rises even before Mars...
4. Progressed Mars trine Pholus (turning point in sex life?)
5. Progressed Mercury conjunct Uranus (nervousness)
6. Transit Saturn opposite Jupiter

The combination of Mars, Saturn and Pluto is always difficult and threatening. Sometimes this combination is seen in cases of violent death or suicide or other 'unnatural' causes of death.

Astrology of Alfred Dreyfus' case

In some cases 'good' and 'fortunate' aspects or ' benefics' like Jupiter don't seem to help. Or do they?
I found the case of Alfred Dreyfus (October 9, 1859), whose worst and better days were reflected by a variety of aspects.  Those aspects don't seem to give a simple and clear answer to the question: what happened and was it nice? After studying the astrology case of Dreyfus, I think that :
a. transits and progressions of/with prominent natal planets are more important than other transits and progressions
b. trines and Jupiter are not always beneficial at first sight (but they are, given the circumstances)

DREYFUS CASE
It was in the 19th century in France when Alfred Dreyfus was accused of treason. In fact he had been framed. It was easier to blame him, because of Anti-Semitic sentiments (Dreyfus was Jewish).

Here is the chart with transits and progressions of the day of the arrest:

There is transit Neptune trine the Sun and Transit Jupiter opposition progressed Midheaven with transit Uranus inconjunct Progressed Ascendant on the day of his arrest. A trine, Jupiter and that inconjunct Uranus... It looks as if the latter was the most important. He lost his freedom and it took 7 years to be freed of all charges. How did the trines and Jupiter 'help'? He was supported by Emile Zola who started an international campaign. Zola's Jupiter was in hard aspect with Dreyfus' midpoint Sun/Moon. Dreyfus' Mercury was opposition the Sun of Zola, who set the spotlights on his case. They shared a Sun-Neptune aspect (Zola the sextile, Dreyfus the quatronovile).


NATAL CHART
His chart corresponds with what we know about him.
a. He was a soldier.  We see that possibility in the positions of Mars and Saturn.
Mars rises before the Sun for orientation on arms, activism, action and energy. Before Mars is Saturn and Saturn is 'calling' (duty, responsibility and hierarchy at any possible level). The combination of Mars and Saturn is the combination of discipline (and being disciplined).
b. He lost his freedom.
Both Saturn and Uranus don't make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees.  As these planets are what I name 'calling', the issue of 'breaking free' and 'restricted freedom' will be demonstrated at any possible level, somehow and anyhow.
c. Commotion and upheaval were definitely part of his career (Uranus-MC), but on the other hand he also apparently was an outsider (Uranus) among the officers.
d. In my opinion a distance of 127.5 degrees between objects in the chart, is an important distance. In this chart that is the distance between Sun and Uranus. The Sun-Uranus combination is nice for an individualist, but in a group it is often difficult not to become 'the outsider'.
e. Sun is quatronovile Neptune.
f. Mercury is quatronovile Neptune, too! There are many cases of Mercury-Neptune accusations on this blog. See the links.

A quatronovile is 4x a novile and 160 degrees. A trine is 3x40 degrees. Noviles are supposed to be 'harmonious' aspects. I think that harmonious aspects refer to smooth relationships between objects in the chart.

OCTOBER 15 1894: arrest
1. Sun-Neptune
As quatronoviles are 4x40 and trines are 3x40 they are suppused to be 'friendly', 'easy' or 'harmonic'. Use the labels to find examples of the contrary! Trine and noviles, sextiles and binoviles or quatronoviles make it easy to relate one planet to another, or in this case: the Sun and Neptune. It makes it easy to be seen (Sun) in a diffuse light (Neptune). This can be done as a hero or an angel. It can also be done the negative way.
That happened when transit Neptune was trine his natal Sun. It was easy to place him in a negative light. This transit resonated the 'sound' of Sun quatronovile Neptune. He was being framed with transit Neptune trine Sun.
2. Progressed Ascendant inconjunct transit Uranus 
Inconjunct (loss) Uranus (freedom).
3. Progressed Midheaven opposition Jupiter (is this fair? that is the question of opposition Jupiter)
Jupiter symbolizes support. He got support. Emile Zola even risked prison for him! Zola's Jupiter is semi square the midpoint Sun/Moon of Dreyfus and that helps!

Maybe, if there was not Jupiter-Midheaven things had been worse for Dreyfus and he would have been convicted without anyone asking questions. And maybe even the trine of Neptune helped:an idealist and artist voluntarily helped him. Neptune, at best, is the symbol of idealism, art, belief and all that we do without gain.
Remember that Uranus is 'calling' in the natal chart! That increases the importance of transits of Uranus.

SEPTEMBER 19, 1899
He was pardonned and released out of prison on September 19, 1899. It is nice for the case of astrology that that was the day that transit Uranus was exactly conjunct his Midheaven. He got his freedom back, conditions changed and of course he was in a nervous state. The transit of Uranus was so important for Dreyfus because in the natal chart Uranus is opposition Midheaven. It means that something that is already an issue in life, is being activated.

JULY 13, 1902: free of all charges

Watch the trine of transit Jupiter with natal Sun! That is a classical happy transit. This transit was leading! You see, there is also transit Pholus inconjunct Progressed MC, symbolizing a turning point in the development of the career, with a loss involved. He could return to the army, the place where he had been framed. (Pholus was in hard aspect with transit Node and transit Chiron). What he lost were more than 7 years of his life, spent in very nasty conditions. The pain is illustrated by transit Mars sesquisquare Midheaven. But Jupiter ruled!

SO

When he got back all that he lost, transit Jupiter was trine the Sun. Jupiter rules the 10th house.
When he was arrested there was P MC opposite Jupiter, so P IC conjunct Jupiter.


When he was arrested, there was Neptune trine Sun.
In the end - free at last, cleared of all charges - he had the confusing transit of Neptune opposition Sun/Moon midpoint. He got the rank of Major later, but his health had suffered because of the years in prison.

Sextiles, trines and crime (re: Fernandez de Souza)

Are sextiles and trines*) really symbols of harmony? Or are they the symbols of the easy way out? And is the easy way out, in certain situations, the criminal way? Do these aspects tend to 'give in' and 'give up' (with the hard aspects as symbols of 'resistance' and 'effort'?)
I have some examples on this blog and a recent one: Bruno Fernandez de Souza.

The Brazilian professional football goalkeeper Bruno Fernandez de Souza had the mother of his son killed because he didn't want to be a father and didn't want to pay. A friend suggested to have her killed and (as he says) he accepted this. It is a horrible story. Bruno Fernandez de Souza tried to kill himself in prison in September 2010, but he failed. Now he has to stay in prison for 22 years. That won't be easy.

This is the chart of the day of birth of Bruno Fernandez de Souza. Count the blessed sextiles and trines…

There is only one stress aspect within 5 degrees orb and that aspect happens to be a wider Mars square Saturn (the symbol of the issue of death, discipline and punishment). There is also the combination of Mars in aspect with both Saturn and Pluto, illustrating the issue of unnatural death. But: there are 7 sextiles and trines!

RESEARCH
There has been research in the world of astrology, almost always concentrated on stress aspects. But I saw an overdose of easy going aspects in the charts of those involved in crime (victims AND killers). Here are some links:

It is not that trines and sextiles have to lead to crime. It is that they tend to find easy ways out. And there are indeed many criminals with stress aspects, too.
What I mean to say is, that soft aspects don't mean easy lives and nice persons.
In order to make it easy on themselves they may damage others or themselves, just like those with hard and stress aspects do. Lots of trines and sextiles also don't stop that one stress aspect and they are no guarantee of easy living and happy ever afters.

- a trine is an aspect of about 120 degrees

Into the wild with Mars TRINE Neptune (Chris McCandless)

Recently I saw parts of the movie 'Into the wild' again. It is about Christopher McCandless (picture above), who got into trouble and died of starvation on a road trip to Alaska, alone. They estimated that he died on August 18, 1992, now 20 years ago. He left a diary and notes and a book was written about his experiences, followed by a movie. I think that much of what happened, happened because of the tightest aspect in his chart, the trine between Mars and Neptune.

Don't get me wrong! I know that there is more! For example: the Sun semi square Saturn and inconjunct Pluto (die hard combination; difficulties and restrictions), Sun biquintile Uranus and semi square Saturn (breaking free), the Sun square Neptune and inconjunct Pluto (the silent force, the mystery), or Sun conjunct Pholus (risk to shoot your own foot; the catalyst).  Sun in Aquarius biquintile Uranus means a creative way to be independent and free. It is a sort of an ultimate Aquarian dream that turned into a nightmare when being different and independent turned into being an alien in a hostile environment. 

It is 'Mars trine Neptune' what I like to discuss here, also because of the effect of transit Neptune - Progressed Mars later.  This trine again raises questions about the harmony of trines.

IMPORTANCE OF MARS TRINE NEPTUNE HERE
Mars trine Neptune is important in the chart of Chris McCandless. Mars trine Neptune is the tightest aspect. Tight aspects are most important, IMO (if time of birth is important, how couldn't the tightness of aspects be?) Moreover: this aspect is between important planets in the chart. Neptune is important because Neptune rises before the Sun (spotlight on ideals, dreams and illusions). Mars is in Pisces (ruled by Neptune).

The combination of Mars and Neptune is being repeated in the transits and progressions of an important moment: when he left home. In fact: all the while, during his odyssey, the transit was valid! In June 1990 Neptune was in the 14th degree of Capricorn. In december 1990 Neptune was in the 14th degree of Capricorn, again. In september 1991 the retrograding Neptune was in that degree.
I've experienced more than once, that aspects in transit or progressions between the same couple as in the natal chart are very important, even if the distance is different. It is a repeating, resonating theme. The transit or progression fits the natal chart, like the glass shoe fitted Cinderella.

MARS+NEPTUNE
Mars-Neptune is perfect for those things that don't require too much energy. Mars-Neptune stimulates fantasy, artistry and ideals. It is good for people who work with those who are weak or ill and have to use drugs or medication. It is a nice trine for sailors, people who live isolated lives or for people working in a bar. This Mars-Neptune is a trine. I wrote about the hard aspects before:

" I have a bad example of a count in Holland who was naive enough to believe that he would be spared, but he wasn't. Natal Mars-Neptune opposition. Soon after transit Neptune conjunct Sun (being seen in a negative light, gossip) he was convicted and sentenced to death. Those were the days...a mistake, literally loosing your head... Don't I have a nice Mars-Neptune example? Yes, the chart of Rod Stewart (on Art&Astrology). He has Mars square Neptune and they didn't chop his head off!

Maybe you have some more? If you have Mars square Neptune, what is your experience? I read about a man who kept losing his job because of not 'matching with the expectations'. I have seen examples of people working in or with crime (as a lawyer, for example, fighting crime). It seems that Mars-Neptune makes you 'do it' in another world, the world of imagination or the world that the common people don't see. Perhaps they work with animals, in hospitals, as a volunteer, for their ideals? It is a complicated aspect, very confusing (...)." 

It seems that trines and squares between Mars and Neptune are almost one of a kind. They can lead you  into trouble.


FEBRUARY 12, 1968
 On February 12, 1968 many more persons were born, like Josh Brolyn (actor), Gregory Charles and Chynna Philips*) (singers). They didn't  go into the wild. I don't know what happened to them, but I know what happened to Chris McCandless when the Mars-Neptune combination reappeared in his chart.  And I know his background. A study of history and anthropology had given him ideas about society. He wanted to leave society and he did, with transit Neptune square progressed Mars. He died after an odyssey with transit Neptune again square Progressed Mars, almost two years later. The period just before he went 'into the wild' was a Neptune-Mars period. In that period he didn't contact his family .

WHEN HE LEFT: T Neptune square P Mars
McCandless was born February 12, 1968 in El Segundo, California and he studied history and anthropology. He left home, after donating all of his money to Oxfam, end of June, 1990. That was with transit Uranus square his Saturn, on a moment of 'breaking free'. See the chart for the other transits and progressions. And see that transit Neptune was square progressed Mars. 
Here are the positions on the day of birth with transits and progressions for when he left. Watch transit Pluto trine natal Sun: he was still strong and healthy then and determined to go.

He was last seen alive on April 28, 2012. He disappeared. And when he wanted to come back, it was too late.

DEATH
This is the chart of the estimated day of death. The situation (he couldn't cross the river and was completely alone) caused his early death.
Even when he died there was a Mars-Neptune issue. On August 20, 1992 (two days after the estimated day of death) Mars was inconjunct Neptune in the 17th degree. On the 17th Mars had been inconjunct Uranus in the 15th degree. His progressed Mars was in the 16th degree. Transit Uranus/Neptune was inconjunct transit Mars and square the progressed Mars of Chris McCandless.

When he died, transit Jupiter was opposition his progressed Sun and transit Neptune sextile. The Jupiter-Neptune combination is the combination of belief and faith. These transits may have comforted him in the lonely wild in his final hours. That is why he wrote:
I HAVE HAD A HAPPY LIFE AND THANK THE LORD. GOODBYE AND MAY GOD BLESS ALL!"
It looks like an act (Mars) of faith (Neptune).

Mars-Neptune isn't the kind of aspect to help you survive in the wild. It is the aspect for the poet, the dreamer, getting lost...  There is nothing romantic about dying alone, sick, thin and cold, starving. But there is something mysterious about his last years and days that inspired artists to make (Mars) a movie (Neptune) about his walk to infinity. If it is one thing that the trine 'achieved', than it is the fact that his story became a legend.

Charles Manson appeals again

Charles Manson again tries to get out of prison: he appeals, even though his lawyer says that he is now totally institutionalized. I have written about Manson and Sharon Tate before (see links), but that was in 2008 and 2009. Meanwhile, you learn and see more (at least, that is what I hope)... So, here is another reading.

First of all:

Charts don’t mean destiny. Charts are telling us how to deal with the challenges of life (your mental health!, gender, genes, social circumstances and culture). There is no need to identify yourself with Manson, just because you were born on the same day or hour. It is what you do with the chart position, what you make of it, given the circumstances! I couldn't find a celebrity born on November 12, 1934 as an example of an alternative way to deal with the same kind of aspects.

Anyway, this is the chart with transits and progressions for the fatal day: August 9, 1969. 

Charles Manson got tools to become the leader of a gang. He managed to break free from the social circumstances of his parents’ home. He also had the tools to make a mash of his life, ending up in jail. What astrological themes are highlighted in his chart?

1.  JUPITER
Jupiter is the most important planet in the chart of Charles Manson. Jupiter is on an angle and Jupiter rises before the Sun. Usually this is an indication for confidence, conviction and the importance of having social successes. In a way, considering his social background, there was a period when he ‘made it’. He had followers and he had influence.

2.   MERCURY
Mercury is angular, pointing at the importance of communications and opinions.
Together, the importance of Mercury and Jupiter increase the power of communications. He has written several song texts (see here: http://leeaaron.tripod.com/manson-lyrics.html)  And it seems that he gets thousands of letters of people who want to become a member of the Manson family.

3.  MOON
The elevated Moon in Aquarius (square Ascendant and conjunct Northern Nodes) points at the importance of moods, needs, habits and family. His gang was named the Manson Family.

Charles Manson’s chart is not easy. He has Sun, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio. And all(!!!) of his planets are heavily afflicted!  The tightest aspects are Moon square Mercury and Mars conjunct Neptune. The first (Moon-Mercury) describes a conflict between sense and sensitivity or at worst a habit of lying. The second (Mars-Neptune) can easily lead to using and/or abusing drugs. There is almost no harmonious aspect, it is all struggle, trouble and fighting, except for Venus sextile Mars (passion, and that doesn’t help much in this case). With Sun square Saturn in Aquarius (ruled by Uranus) and Sun quatronovile Uranus we see a double Saturn-Uranus theme, mirroring the issue of restricted freedom and the will to break free.

CRIME

Charles Manson had been in jail a few times before he got life. Crime is hidden in the details of the chart of the specific hour and place:

1. In the chart of the famous Dutch drugsdealer Klaas Bruinsma, Uranus and Neptune are very important. So it is in the birth chart of Charles Manson. Mars is conjunct Neptune and semisquare Uranus for being explosive under the influence of drugs. The combination is repeated several times in midpoint combinations.

2. Sun/Moon conjunct Lilith? Has this motivated him to enter ‘the wild side’ of life?

3. Midpoint AC/MC is sesquisquare Uranus and square Pluto. This is indicating a sudden transformation of conditions (like an arrest).

Also:

- Saturn opposition the midpoint Mars/Pluto mirrors the issue of unnatural death. This midpoint combination can’t be used for judging, because it is in the charts of victims and in the charts of killers or witnesses. Jupiter trine Pluto

Monday, March 12 Jupiter is exactly trine Pluto. That is astrologic for something
real big.
That is why I like to add this 'Bacchus' of Rubens every time that I think of Jupiter-Pluto. Because that is what happens when you grow the intense way, perhaps:).

Last time that Jupiter was trine Pluto (end of October 2011) a European agreement in Brussels raised trust on the financial market (but not for long!). Now is the second time and maybe it is a second chance. According to Chairman Van Rompuy last Friday (a day with Sun square Pholus) the crisis in Europe was then at a turning point (having reached an agreement about Greece again). Jupiter is the symbol of trust and hope and growth. Pluto is the symbol of intensity, power, money and values. According to Reinhold Ebertin in COSI the Jupiter-Pluto combination is socially related to economy and speculating. A trine makes it easy to intensify trust and cultivate power.

I know,  it is also Mercury retrograding time. I am curious about the way that this could alter the process of stimulating the economy. Meanwhile my optimism is growing, perhaps because that Jupiter-Pluto trine is trine my natal Mercury (and my Mercury is in aspect with Jupiter/Pluto midpoint). So let's see and take the opportunity to see a brilliant Venus-Jupiter conjunction in the sky knowing that this conjunction is trine Pluto.

Yes, this is the perfect time to observe the effect on the market and for yourself to see if this Venus-Jupiter-Pluto combination 'touches' your chart (Sun, Moon, MC, Ascendant, progressed Sun, progressed Moon: whatever near 9.35 degree of the fixed signs or in Capricorn or Virgo, for example or if you like: try the semi- and sesquisquares*).

Princess Estelle's fairy tale chart

This is about the chart of Princess Estelle of Sweden, born on February 23, 2012 at 4:26 a.m. in Stockholm. She is the first granddaughter of the King of Sweden and supposed to be the Queen one day. She was born with the Sun square the midpoint of Ascendant and Midheaven so that her star will shine...It is a midpoint combination for a leader or someone drawing attention, and she will, of course. She will be in the center of the attention, wherever she goes.

There is something special about the chart. The natal chart has no tight squares, not within 5 degrees of orb. That means that there might be a tendency to choose the easy way out and avoid conflicts. However, there is compensation for that. There is a minor aspect (Mars quindecile - 165 degrees- Uranus) telling us that she might be impulsive, have a short fuse sometimes and is prone to taking risks (driving fast, for example). The Mars-Saturn-Pluto midpoint combination also tells us that it is good to be careful and take precautions. But for the rest: it is the chart of a fairy tale princess. 

Fairy tale princesses are basically beautiful, kind and romantic even if they are Princess Fiona in Shreck. Estelle will be a fairy tale princess, too. She will be charming at any possible level (that is because Venus doesn't make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees: Venus calling!). Maybe even, she will have a special kind of beauty (that is because Uranus is 'calling' too). An overdose of passion (Venus inconjunct Mars) and a romantic/idealistic approach of life (Neptune rising before the Sun) in combination with the Sun and Moon in Pisces make her a very sensitive person when it comes to love and emotion.

Anyway, she is a princess, so she will be the kind of person that we see in magazines and newspapers or from a distance. In fairy tales they often show up in a tower, with the knight or hero looking up at her. In reality we watch them in magazines, on tele and in the papers: from a distance. The 26th degree of Sagittarius on her Ascendant seems to be related to illusions and... bravery when it comes to defending the nation.

Jeopardy: charts, Prada, Callas, Gies, elevated Uranus?

The answer is: ' Subjects of posts on Astropost on February 15, 2009'. Was that easy? I wish I could give you ' Jennings' or 'Rutter' or 'Watson'  so that you could ask: "Who won Jeopardy on February 16, 2011?". But I can't. I don't have hours or places of birth for the three of them and I don't know at what hour and minute the final moment of the competition is, tomorrow. Also, I keep waking up at about 2:45 a.m. (since the Mars return, but now I FEEL it) and so I take it easy tonight...This post has some links to earlier posts and an alinea about Jeopardy. I will start with the links.

On February 15, 2009 I had a more productive day than today: 4 posts. One about Jaya Prada, politician and Bollywood Actres who was attacked on that day but fortunately not hurt. She was born April 3, 1962 and had transit Jupiter conjunct Saturn in that period and the transit Sun trine progressed Venus. It was, in other words, a good day and there was some help (Jupiter) in hard times.

JEOPARDY

Today's post could have been about Jeopardy only, but I can't make up my mind about who wins:). How could I, without hours of births, hours of the final minute and without the 'natal chart'  of the computer, Watson? And without being able to watch the show!? 
All I can tell you is, that the battle is between two human beings  and a computer. Their names are:

• Brad Rutter (born on January 31, 1978 and the biggest all-time money winner in Jeopardy) and 
• Kenneth Jennings (born May  23, 1974 and not only a Jeopardy record winner. He also won the Rookie Divisioin of the American Crossword Puzzle Tournement in 2006)
• Watson, an artificial brain

The men both have a wider trine between Sun and Pluto and that they share Venus square Uranus. That tells us that they have sense of rhythm and that they love excitement and surprises (Venus-Uranus). They will also find ways to self esteem and authority (and they did, didn't they, with Sun trine Pluto). Because they SHARE these aspects it also tells us that they are able to join forces against a shared enemy. And that they will have fun together! 


When they broke a record a few years ago they had a minor aspect between Jupiter and Sun (see their - progressed - charts) and one of them had a Mars-Uranus trine. On February 16, only one of them has a transit Mars trine Uranus. The other one has transit Jupiter opposition Pluto. And for the rest: only difficult aspects, like Progressed Sun inconjunct Progressed Neptune or transit Pholus conjunct Neptune...I don't know about Watson...:) I heard one of the man say that Watson doesn't have nerves or emotions, like humans do. But he also doesn't have a compact brain. Anyway, may the best 'man' win! Tomorrow we will know the name.

There is life after death in charts, progressions and transits, as I have noticed before. An example is the chart of Jim Morrison today. See his chart.  There is transit Uranus trine Midheaven and Progressed Sun almost trine Saturn. It means: positive (trine) change (Transit Uranus) in reputation or position (Midheaven) for the late singer of the Doors. The growing trine between the progressed Sun and Saturn is resonating 'getting respect'. What happens? 
He might be pardonned for indecent exposure during a concert in Miami in 1969!

General McChrystal's Mercury called

General Stanley McChrystal was born on August 14, 1954 (no place and no time known). He was not very nice about President Obama (said he was not impressed) and pretended not to know who Vice President Biden is. Apperently the general is not a fan.
Now he has to face the President. See the story on CNN... Why do I mention this? To show you how the transits and progressions seem to indicate the perfect timing of this incident...There are 4 heavy transits and progressions indicating restrictions and upheavel. And the strong role for Mercury-Pholus in transit and synastry shows how the President and the general communicated and got hurt.

TRANSITS AND PROGESSIONS
1.Transit Saturn is square natal Mars
Dead end...Being restricted in action
2. Progressed Mars is square natal Neptune
Mistake...doing the wrong thing
3. Transit Uranus is quindecile progressed Sun
Being in the news in an obsessive way
4. Transit Saturn semi square natal Mercury
Goodbye...(frustrating bad news)

And that is without hour or place of birth, so maybe there is even more.

How come that a general makes such stupid remarks in a public magazine like Rolling Stone? Perhaps it is because of the calling Mercury (Mercury without majour aspects, sesquisquare Mars (sharp words...)
When Mercury 'calls' this sometimes leads to talking too much, at any possible level. It is a good tool to use in communications, too. A 'calling' Mercury just needs a little control.

And then there was the transit of Pholus, the catalyst, the symbol of the turning point...

MERCURY-PHOLUS
There is a strong interaction between Mercury and Pholus in Obama-McChrystal's synastry.There is also an active transit.

Transit: Transit Pholus was trine the calling Mercury of McChrystal and offered an opportunity for a mental turning point or: for shooting your own foot just by communicating like you do.

Synastry with Obama: The general's Mercury is opposition the Pholus of Obama, by the way, and vice versa! Maybe that explains why the words of the general hurt so much and why the general will now be hurt by the anger of Obama.

Happy Carlos Quieroz

Just a quick glance at the time unknown chart of Carlos Quieroz, the happy coach of Portugal (defeating North Korea with 7-0) was enough:

- progressed Sun in the 11th degree of Pisces is sextile natal Jupiter in the 11th degree of Taurus and Jupiter is for success;
- transit Northern Node is at 12 Capricorn and that is pretty close to the natal Sun (how about reading this as 'starring role in a community?)
- transit Jupiter is sextile the natal ('calling'!) Pholus.
I tend to see Pholus (shoot, foot) as a symbol of football. Jupiter sextile Pholus than means: succesfull or international (Jupiter!) football.

The Portugese coach has Sun trine Jupiter in the natal chart and that is great (think this over...:)

HOW ABOUT YOU?
It is hard to believe, but a nice aspect with Jupiter sometimes means ... nothing special. I mean: you can't count on an effect. See the posts about Jupiter and Jupiter in the 12th house about this and don't expect too much. If you don't your chances of feeling great will grow, even without promotion, success, travelling or 'being published'. Jupiter sometimes means being helped by a good advice or doctor, meeting a coach or counting your blessings...(especially when Jupiter is in the 12th house of the natal chart or by transit).

Kevin Garn, applause and Sun trine Jupiter

Kevin Garn (born January 14, 1955) must have indications in his personal chart for leaving the political scene, but he also has progressed Sun trine progressed Jupiter and trine natal Saturn. Jupiter is the symbol of support and Saturn (with good aspects) for respect. In combination they often reflect ups and downs and with the trine they probably made it easier to step back. Because support and respect, that is what he got when he confessed that he had been in a hot bath with a 15 year old nude girl when he was 28 and a Mormon bishop and that he should resigns: there was applause! Very Jupiter!

Patricia Paay: Venus trine Pluto

Patricia Paay is 60 years old and she is in the middle of attention and controversy since her husband (DJ Adam Curry) left her with transit Saturn square natal Sun. She didn't exactly sit back and cry...She became a hype after she was asked for a photo session, by Playboy. People either judge and condemn her for this or they applaud her.

Her hour of birth is not known, unfortunately, but we know the day :April 7, 1949, Rotterdam. On that day Jupiter was tightly inconjunct Saturn, a statement for late (and somewhat disproportional) success.

On April 7, 1949 Venus exactly trine Pluto, reflecting the power of beauty and style and…the ease of earning money. She got 150.000 euro for the pics, they say! Patricia has Venus conjunct Mars, rising before the Sun for guts and passion. With Pluto it is being rewarded. The opposition of Mercury and Venus with Neptune refers to artistic talents and ‘ poses’ related to communications. Good day for a centerfold to be born...

Ronnie Biggs: no more jail

Ronnie Biggs is allowed to spend the rest of his life out of jail. It is official now, perhaps as a birthday present (his 80th birthday is on the 8th). Transit Pluto sesquisquare the natal Sun tells me that he has health problems in this life changing period. Pluto is an important planet in his natal chart. Ronnie Biggs chart has Pluto rising before the Sun. Pluto symbolizes politics, power, sex, challenges, transformations and money. Biggs'life has changed because of money. Four sextiles and two trines guided him to the 'easy way' to make a fortune: robbery.

Biggs was one of the Great Train Robbers. He got 30 years and served 10 of them in prisson. The Great Train Robbery was on August 8, 1963. A 15-men gang robbed the equivalent of 58 million US Dollars without killing anyone.

LUCKY JUPITER
It was on Biggs's 34th birthday when it happened, in the year of Biggs's progressed Mercury trine Jupiter. On the day of the robbery transit Jupiter was square progressed Pluto. The combination promisses success (big money). Biggs was convicted and jailed but managed to escape on July 7, 1965 (with transit Uranus square Jupiter and inconjunct Uranus for happy change, but...with tension). He underwent plastic surgery in Paris and moved to Australia and later to Brazil.

On May 7, 2001 he voluntarily returned to England and was sent back to jail immediately. That was with Uranus opposition his Mercury, Jupiter sextile and Pluto trine Sun in the year of progressed Mars inconjunct Uranus (perfectly reflecting losing - inconjunction - freedom - Uranus-).

SATURN-URANUS (the issue of restricted freedom and breaking free)
With transit Uranus square his progressed Saturn he was allowed to go home after breaking a hip earlier this year. The Saturn-Uranus combination is reflecting the theme of restricted freedom and resistance against it (see the label for more examples).

This year the progressed Sun will be trine Venus (for peace and rest). Perhaps all is well that ends well? Earlier reports said that he will live in a nursing home (payed by the State). There have been protests of taxpayers who don't want him to be in a nurse home at their costs. Pluto, the planet of money, power, and jealousy!, is indeed important in the natal chart of Ronnie Biggs...

Chart of the earthquake in L'Aquila (Italy) and Uranus

This is the chart of the moment of the Italian earthquake today at 3:32 a.m. Mid European Summer Time. Uranus is the symbol of shocking (...) events. Uranus is important in this chart for 3 reasons:

1. Uranus is the first outer planet rising before the Sun: there is an orientation on an accident or a shocking event
2. Uranus does not make Ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees (in other words: Uranus is 'calling'! and that means that Uranus can be shocking at any possible level)
3. Uranus is exactly square the midpoint Sun/Moon so that there is 'a reigning need' to shock the world

As Uranus is exactly trine Midheaven, there is a way to express the meaning of the combination of these 3 reasons: an orientation on a substantial shock at any possible level. Apparently there was a potential for a shocking event and it was in aspect with the local meridian.

Demjanjuk; small trine and 3x Mars/Saturn/Pluto

Today the US sent John Demjanjuk back to (Germany) to be on trial (see PPS). All about the chart of Demjanjuk can be found in a postdated May 2008. The main message of that post:

1. Saturn and Pluto progressions and transits relate the episode of the Second World War to the moment of punishement now.
(It is often so that the same sort of aspects of the past come back when the event is of importance in the present).

2. There is a small trine formed by Mars, Saturn and Pluto in his chart. Mars, Saturn and Pluto are the combination of unnatural death. Apparently that was the theme on April 3, 1920, the day that he was born in Kiev. This combination was repeated 3 times (Mars - Saturn/Pluto; Saturn - Mars/Pluto; Pluto - Mars/Saturn). The midpoint combinations show hard and dangerous methods and the danger of death or the disadvantages of using violence.

The post was also about the effect of the small trine (tight aspects) related to the 3 midpoint combinations that are always the result of the tight small trine*).

In the post I gave my opinion about the effect of the small trine:

"I think that the midpoint combinations point at actual events and hard times. And that the small trine symbolises the way you deal with it.
(...)
He could get away with it for a long long time. And that is the effect of the small trine."

*) That is so because it is a combination of a planet (A) that is connected to two other positions by means of a trine and a sextile. The planet that makes the sextile (C) is also 60 degrees away from the planet connected by a trine (B) For example:
A = 80 d B = 200 d C = 140 d. That means that planet C is 60 degrees from A and B and right in the middle of A and B. C = conjunct A/B. A = square B/C and B = square A/C
So every tight (2 d orb) small trine has 3 midpoint combinations to make. And when the small trine involves difficult planets, there will be 3 difficult midpoint combinations related to the 'harmonious' aspects.

PS In the earlier post about Demjanjuk I forgot to mention that when he was found guilty again in 2004, it was of being a camp guard in the concentration camp Sobibor (not in Triblinka). The American judge ruled that Demjanjuk hadn't been able to make it clear where he was in WW II. So now Demjanjuk is no longer a US Citizen. That is why he was sent to Ukrania (however, that country did not want him back and Germany 'volunteered').

PPS For the time being a judge ordered that Demjanjuk is too weak to leave the country (he is 89). He must be relieved (transit Jupiter sesquisquare Uranus). This is his chart with transits of today.

PPPS For those on the net who claim that Sobibor 'was not that bad': it was a death camp, an exterminationcamp. For info... Sobibor's gas chambers killed thousands of Jews during the Holocaust. There seems to be strong evidence that Demjanjuk participated in the murders, in Sobibor and in Majdanek.

Chart of Sharon Tate raising questions about trines, Venus and Jupiter

I was in the middle of translating the reading of the chart of Charles Manson for my site Astromarkt. Then I noticed an article on CNN about the Manson family and their demands for parole. The murder was 40 years ago now. In May of this year there will be another attempt to free Susan Atkins (who has a brain tumor). And the parole will probably be denied, again.

I wrote about the birth chart of Susan Atkins, last year. And now I wondered if their was an astrological link between the charts of Susan Atkins and Sharon Tate. The killer is Charles Watson, but Susan Atkins held Sharon Tate down so that he could stab her. She participated in the killing.

I found a lot of trines. They were abundant in the chart of Sharon Tate. She and Susan Atkins share a grand trine. And their charts are connected by trines, too.

First Sharon Tate's chart:


Sharon Tate's chart has the Moon, Venus, Mars and Jupiter without Ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. These are the planets of being a woman, of having success and of enjoying life. She has a grand trine of Sun, Saturn and Neptune, tightly. The grand trine is considered to be fortunate. And of course, Sharon Tate was a beauty, she had success and money.

The only thing is that Mars is biquintile Pluto and 157.5 (135+22.5) degrees from Saturn. Saturn is sextile Pluto. Mars-Saturn-Pluto is the combination of the danger of untimely death.

CONNECTION
The connection with Susan Atkins is found in shared aspects and progressions of Saturn and Pluto.

A. SHARED ASPECTS
Sharon Tate had Sun trine Saturn. Atkins has Sun square Saturn.
Sharon Tate had Sun opposition Pluto. Atkins has Sun square Pluto.
Sharon Tate had Mars semi square Neptune. Atkins Mars square Neptune.
Tate had Sun trine Neptune. Atkins Sun biquintile Neptune.

B. 9 AUGUST 1969
In the year before her death, the progressed Sun of Sharon Tate had changed sign, to indicate a different life style (maybe as she was pregnant). Her Sun had just been square Uranus. This is a signal that her life changed in a sudden way, related to 'life and death'. The aspect had occured already. But it says: sudden transformation related to 'life and death'.

Her Ascendant had progressed to the 14th degree of Leo, conjunct the natal Saturn/Pluto of her killer. The progressed ASC of Atkins was conjunct the progressed Pluto of Sharon Tate, who had progressed Saturn and Pluto close together. Atkikns and the victim share Sun-Saturn and Sun-Pluto aspects and the progressed angles are conjunct each others' Saturn-Pluto.

C. 22ND DEGREE, BLACK MOON AND INCONJUNCTION
The 22nd degree is not a fortunate degree. The Black Moon seems to show the dark side of the moon. And the inconjunction reflects losts and losing. These 3 are relating one chart to another.

The Ascendant of Sharon Tate is in the 22nd degree of Cancer, inconjunct the Black Moon of Atkins (in the 22nd of Aquarius) and inconjunct her own Venus in the eight house (perhaps an indication for the disproportionate way to die by the hands of a woman).

QUESTIONS
When I studied the chart of Sharon Tate, I was surprised for several reasons:
- They say that a trine is a harmonious aspect. Sharon Tate had Sun and Mercury trine Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. She had a grand trine of Sun, Saturn and Neptune.
- They say that Jupiter on the Ascendant brings you luck. In fact, the study of Ken Gilmore showed that Jupiter on the Ascendant is a rather fortunate placement. Sharon Tate had Jupiter on the Ascendant.
- They say that Venus in the eight house helps you to die the soft way. Sharon Tate was stabbed to death by a fanatic follower of Charles Manson. And so was her unborn baby.

And how about synergie?
- They say that Venus means love and sympathy, but the Venus of Sharon Tate square the Midheaven of Susan Atkins didn't help much.
- They say that a Mars-Jupiter combination is very productive and stimulating, but how about Sharon Tate's Mars conjunct Susan Atkins' Jupiter?
- Sharon Tate's Uranus and Neptune were trine the AScendant of Susan Atkins, who was under the influence of drugs.
- Atkin's Chiron (the healer) was trine the Ascendant of her defenseless victim.

Trines sometimes seem to make it easy to die (the hard way). Venus is not always nice. Jupiter doesn't always protect you. And nice trines in synergy don't seem to mean a thing, sometimes.

MEETING THE WRONG PEOPLE AT THE WRONG MOMENT
Also read the article on Astromarkt.net about meeting people at the right (or wrong...) moment. Victim and killer met when they both had a combination for hard confrontations with others in their progressed charts. And they happened to have 'hard confrontations' in their natal charts (Sun-Saturn-PLuto), too.

How to explain that? I wish I knew.
