Pisces astrologer Susan Miller

Pisces Susan Miller is a very popular contemporary (sun sign) astrologer with a crowd of dedicated and sometimes depending followers. What in her chart helped her to become an astrologer and a famous one, too? And what in her chart tells us about the lack of sleep to do all that she does (daily horoscopes, celebrity horoscopes, consultations, interviews, hosting Astrology zone etc.et.)
Let’s see.

I’ll use my usual method to read charts (also see: http://www.astromarkt.net/chart-analysis.html

1.     Astro ID
Uranus conjunct Ascendant and Pallas (symbol of seeing patterns) on the MC. Jupiter doesn’t make aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. Now we have a prominence of Uranus (angular) and Jupiter (calling!). Jupiter-Uranus is the combination that is linked to (many if not most of the) astrologers, mirroring a helicopter view (‘from above’). For more examples, see Astropost (http://astropost.blogspot.nl/search/label/astrologers for more charts of astrologers)

Mars is also ‘calling’ (no aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees) AND Mars is rising before the Sun on her day of birth. That points at the importance of the planet of energy twice and mirrors the active workaholic, someone who is very productive. An entrepreneur pur sang.

Now we have the Astro ID that could fit on an astrologer or an astronautJ

2.    Character
50% in mutable signs, Sun Pisces, Virgo Moon*) and a Gemini Ascendant, Sun/Moon midpoint in Sagittarius, square Mercury
Mutable =movable
J Sensitivity and mediagenic Pisces with ‘at your service’ Moon and communicative (forever young) Gemini Ascendant.
The midpoint Sun/Moon in Sagittarius square Mercury combination will be motivated by doing it her own way, by ideas and success and because of Mercury this involves communications.

Sun in a narrow square with Uranus and Uranus quatronovile (160d) Jupiter connect the important Uranus and Jupiter (see 1. Astro ID) and repeat the combination of the helicopter view that I found in the charts of (some modern) popes, astronauts and astrologers.
There is Mars inconjunct Saturn as a warning for working too hard!

A dedicated communicator with a helicopter view, motivated by successful communications and: with a tendency to work too hard!

3.    Patterns and points, specials
There is an OOB Pluto biquintile the Sun. Biquintiles are double quintiles and quintiles are the symbols of creativity. A creative way to be a master? Strong willed creativity? You name it.

Aquarius is the sign on cusp X (Midheaven) and Uranus is prominent (angular) in Pisces, so we have independence and originality coming out.
Successful combinations in astrology are of course those with Jupiter involved. Jupiter-Uranus combinations help you to look far ahead (your helicopoter view) and see what is needed (like in case of astrology) and that is a help. Jupiter-Pluto combinations intensify confidence and so: success (Jupiter in Scorpio – ruled by Pluto – is ‘calling’). A lot of followers and fans will be shown by Jupiter-Neptune (her Jupiter/Neptune midpoint is semi square her Sun/Moon midpoint). Mercury-Jupiter helps to spread the word (and she has the Moon conjunct Mercury/Jupiter midpoint).

Venus opposition Saturn in 3-9 is very tight, but not part of this article that concentrates on the astrologer in the chart. And on how the sun sign manifests itself. She said that Sun Pisces = philosophical and that led her to astrology. With the Pisces Sun biquintile Pluto we get a spiritual compound in her chart.

Of course, with her chart she didn't HAVE to be an astrologer. Circumstances, situations, culture: it all contributed to her chosen career.

Pisces Ascendant: catching

My Ascendant degree is 4 Pisces. With Saturn in early Sagittarius I keep falling! It is almost amazing how my knees don’t break! And how I manage to stand up…Anyway, it is almost Pisces time and with that Ascendant I feel obliged to pay some attention on Ascendant Pisces. The Ascendant is the symbol of how you present yourself and how you see the world. Well, in modern times Neptune rules Pisces and Neptune makes all things vague, diffuse, unreal and idealistic. I am an awake sleep walker, sort of, with colored glasses on. Fortunately, in ancient times Jupiter ruled Pisces and Jupiter is more positive, happy and protecting. The combination of Jupiter and Neptune is the combination of fans and followers, the believing audience and great imagination or illusions. As Jupiter is conjunct my Ascendant but in the 12th house (Pisces house) I surely combine both on my chart’s horizon.

Pisces is one of the signs that pop up in the charts of artists (see my blog Art&Astrology for the pattern of artistic talents). That is because it is a visionary’s sign. Art needs imagination and dreams, to see things that aren’t yet there. You can use the Pisces influence for anything that hasn’t yet materialized. Mediums, media (like the internet and television) and movies belong to Pisces. So does romance, because you see the loved one like no one else sees him or her. Your angel is another person’s devil, perhapsJ.
Pisces Ascendants are a bit fake, perhaps. Let me think aloud a bit...

Is the Pisces Ascendant like a doormat? I think it is sometimes, but not for long. It is just the Ascendant, your door. When you have a Pisces Ascendant your entry is covered in mist, looking soft and slippery. You may have no idea what’s next. You may even be able to bend that door and shape it like you want it and then wipe your feet. The other side of it (the way the Ascendant sees the world) is that it is tricky outside so that you’d better hide or be invisible, be anonymous or on your guard for the emergency exit while seemingly tolerating and understanding it all.  The octopus is one of the creatures that changes color in defense.

The world outside is not what it looks like and there may be more than what you see. That is the message, when you have a Pisces Ascendant. So perhaps there is an overdose of paranoia among those with this Ascendant, as well as an overdose of idealist following on idea or belief and a lot of Pisces Ascendants believing in ghosts.  I don’t know if anyone ever tested this. So it’s just a guess. Isn't that a good end for a not so sure Pisces Ascendant sign story? But, I have another way to look at Pisces. I think of the fisherman, who silently waits for the prey or the beautiful Syren to be caught. Isn't he/she also part of the Pisces story?

Pisces astrologer Alfred Witte

What is true about the story that Hitler used astrology to guide him trough the war (and into defeat)? Louis de Wohl http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2008/03/birth-chart-of-louis-de-wohl-astrologer.html made a living as a spie, telling the British what move was to be expected if Hitler followed the advice of an astrologer. It wasn't Alfred Witte. Alfred Witte was a victim of the Nazi terror.

The astrologer is in his chart like this:
-       Sun in Pisces (ancient ruler is Jupiter)
-       Moon Aquarius
-       Sun semi square Jupiter
-       Sun quindecile Uranus
-       Jupiter inconjunct Uranus (helicopter view with a loss involved)
-       Midpoint Jupiter/Uranus is semi square Sun

Pisces Astrologer Alfred Witte, the man who introduced the midpoints (a+b)/2 in astrology again, was arrested by the Nazi’s in 1941 and killed himself subsequently. Some of his students ended in concentration camps. The theme of (the danger of) unnatural death is in his chart: Mars conjunct Pluto, sexile Saturn (see the links for more information). On the day of his death transit Saturn was square Venus, Mercury and Moon.

Jupiter-Uranus is the astrologer’s combination. Uranus is the focal planet and perhaps Jupiter is opposite MC.

I deliberately avoid to use house positions or rulers here, because I  wonder if Witte corrected his natal chart so that it would be conjunct fixed star Spica. Robson says that Spica rising means good fortune (more than to be expected) and given Alfred Witte’s tragic end I dare to say that this is wrong.  Maybe the 9:12 was also related to that Jupiter on IC…?
The source note of Astrodatabank says that Wangemann gave a time of 7:54 p.m. but Astro.com uses a chart with a quoted hour of birth of 9:12.  In the 7:54 chart Quaoar is on MC. You see the Astro.com chart here, with transits and progressions for the day of his death:

PISCES AND HIS ASTROLOGY
In the series of astrologers and their sun signs I like to point at the impact of the sign in the work of the astrologer. His sign is Pisces. Witte was victimized. It might be very Pisces, this sacrifice (and hopefully  rare) but there was also an element of Pisces in his work. He believed (Pisces!) in a range of calculated positions for imaginary transneptunian or Uranian planets named
Hades, Zeus, Kronos, Apollon, Admetos, Vulcanus and Poseidon.

Saturn, Pholus and Erdogan

Istanbul as seen from the Bospurus, May 2012
Some time ago I wrote about Saturn and Pholus related to retirement. Soon afterwards, Queen Beatrix announced her retirement (http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/01/pholus-and-saturn-when-you-retire.html)
Pholus marks the turning point (the beginning of it0 and Saturn relates this to age, career or status. As you may see in this chart with transits and progressions of Recep Erdogan, prime minister in Turkey, he  has:

1. Transit Saturn opposition progressed Sun; hard confrontation with reality, facing the facts
2. Transit Pholus sesquisquare progressed Sun; turning point in life, risk of shooting own feet
Saturn is semi square Pholus right now! It is maybe the prelude to stepping back, but Erdogan's political career 'survived' many transits and progressions of Saturn. I wrote about Erdogan and Turkey in 2010, when he had Saturn inconjunct his Sun and the supposed to be Ascendant in the chart of Turkey received hard transits of Uranus and Pluto*).

Here is the chart (no time of birth) with transits and progressions.

In Erdogan's natal chart Sun is square Mars and trine Saturn. That highlights discipline. He is a self made manager.

You may notice that the Turkish' PM has Sun in Pisces and Moon in Sagittarius. The signs are ruled by Neptune and Jupiter. The combination of Jupiter-Neptune and Sagittarius-Pisces is related to religion and believing audiences. See the article on Astromarkt. Some of the people on Taskim square have their doubts about the question if the state will remain secular with PM Erdogan and his party.

Anyway, Saturn and Pholus together seem to be announcing a goodbye in some situations. But as charts should always been seen in the light of age, gender, class, history, situation etcetera, and as the time of birth is unknown (not allowing us to see what the MC does), we will simply have to wait and see if Saturn-Pholus has other means to show that time are about to change.

*)That is why I expected riots in 2012, related to the trial against the military top. However, it didn't happen and as I said in that post: the ascendant is strictly related to the TIME of the birth of the nation. One quarter of an hour difference and all that is left is Uranus-Pluto with Mars (a revolutionary change in the army).

Nasty Pisces (2) like Speer and Eichmann

Some time ago I wrote about 'Sweet Pisces' criminals. Among them: Mengele. This post is about Adolf Eichmann's chart and a bit about the chart of Albert Speer.  Signs are not human. People are not their sun sign. Charts are about more than sun signs. And some born under Pisces aren't as soft and compassionate as they are supposed to be. Where is the shark in the charts of these Pisces?

Someone said, in a documentary, that Nazi criminals looked just like ordinary people. Their charts also look like the charts of ordinary people. That is because you have to see charts related to their background. In critical periods in (mundane or personal) history the progressed chart shows how a person grew into his position. Certain nasty characteristics may turn into nazi characteristics in certain circumstances. This is about the chart of Adolf Eichmann. His background is Nazi-Germany. His education was unfinished. He joined the Nazis in the early years and worked his way up. He was executed in 1962, as a war criminal. Adolf Eichmann managed the deportation of Jews to extermination camps and ghettos in German-occupied Eastern Europe.

EICHMANN
Adolf Eichmann managed the deportation of Jews to extermination camps and ghettos in German-occupied Eastern Europe. His background is Nazi-Germany. His education was unfinished. He joined the Nazis in the early years and worked his way up. He was executed in 1962,  as a war criminal.

Saturn - the career - was rising before his Sun, just like in the chart of Hitler's architect, Albert Speer. Speer, Eichmann and the cruel doctor Mengele all three had Sun conjunct Eris. Above is the chart of Eichmann. Here is that of Albert Speer.

When I read a chart I use 4 steps:
- Astro ID (based on the prominence of planets).
- Character (elements, Sun, Moon, Sun/Moon and Ascendant)
- Aspects and midpoints like Sun/Moon, AC/MC
- Specific patterns
I limit myself mostly to the Astro ID, here. That is because those 'special marks' seem to be enough to explain what brought him into his position and to explain what he did.

His natal chart is an ordinary chart with some highlights. There are 4 'calling' planets. They show the opportunities ahead, at any possible level, somehow and anyhow. There are also 4 angular position (Uranus, Pholus, Neptune and Venus). Venus with Uranus and Neptune is the combination of blinded love and sympathy, while Pholus is the symbol of the turning point.

ASTRO ID

1. CALLING MERCURY, MARS, JUPITER AND PLUTO
- Mercury, Jupiter and Pluto are 'calling' (no major narrow aspects in sign). The combination of these 3 refers to
A. a great communicator who is not always reasonable,
B. someone who tends to dominate somehow and anyhow and
C. to the 'international', occupying himself with foreign matters or living abroad. He also lived in Argentina (as from July 14, 1950) for 10 years until his abduction and arrest.
- Mars was 'calling' for drive and aggression at any possible level. Mars with Jupiter and Pluto gives a lot of energy and drive. This helps in order to gain success. He had a successful career until the war was over.

2. ORIENTATIONAL SATURN
- Saturn is rising before the Sun and will remain the planet of orientation in the progressed chart, too. When Saturn rises before the Sun a person's orientation is classical. They will follow their parents or other authorities. They are realist, earth bound, materialistic.

3. ANGULAR VENUS, URANUS, NEPTUNE AND PHOLUS
- Uranus is opposite Midheaven, showing both the importance of techniques (the mechanic) as the controversial nature of his 'name'.
- Neptune on Midheaven and Venus on the Descendant makes you think of an artist. As there is no pattern of artistic talent, these positions may refer to a certain talent in general and to a combination of skills (Venus) and vision (Neptune). Ideology prevailed (Neptune on MC). Brutus says about Venus-DC: 'willing to give other person's ideas a shot' and I think that this is in line with what happened. But was he 'gullible' or naive? I doubt it. He presented himself as a simple administrator and perhaps expected others to be 'gullible' in this…
- Pholus on the Ascendant is a statement of the turning point on the horizon.
In the progressed chart Uranus and Neptune made narrow harmonious aspects with the Ascendant when he moved to Argentina in 1950.

SO...
So he had a chart with opportunities and chances and he had an Astro ID with 4 key positions. He used his tools for crime without blood on his hands. He was the man who organized crime. There is no way that his chart 'intended' to organize deathly transportations. There is Mars/Saturn on Pholus semi square Northern Node that we can read as deathly common key starting point. But that doesn't mean that 'someone above' or 'the stars' planned what he did. It is the other way around.

In times of war, ambition may lead to crime. His ruler MC is the  Capricorn Moon, ruled by Saturn, rising before the Sun. Maybe that was enough in those days.

SIMILARITIES CHART ALBERT SPEER: ERIS

Hitler's architect was not executed, by mistake. He was believed when he presented himself as a decent Nazi who didn't know about the Shoah. In fact, in order to create a new Berlin, he had the Jews of Berlin transported to Poland just to be able to confiscate their homes.

Just like Eichmann, Speer had Saturn and Eris rising before the Sun. Their rise was in the war.

Just like Eichmann, Speer had Neptune on an angle. Just like Eichmann, Speer had Uranus on an angle of the chart and Pluto 'calling'. Ideologies, techniques, power and authority are of importance in both charts.

MENGELE
Is it just coincidence that Speer and Eichmann had Saturn and Eris rising before their Pisces Sun? Why does Mengele have Sun conjunct Eris? Here is his chart:

ERIS
If you are interested in Eris, see this post: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/09/eris-in-chart-of-government.html  that I ended with (quote)
If you have a prominent Eris in your chart (angular, for example or in a very tight aspect with the Sun or Midheaven) you might see more conflicts and be in the middle of it than others do. Do you?"
Speer, Mengele and Eichmann had a life with Eris...Their Sun was conjunct Eris or Eris was rising before their Sun.

Fixed stars? What about Fomalhaut...

Recently I read a bit about fixed stars, in particular Fomalhaut, and via via I sort of bumped into the chart of Jim Bakker. This minister got in trouble in 1987.  Some astrologers blame Fomalhaut for this. But: what exactly did his chart show then? And what can we learn from that? It is such a lot that I decided to divide my story in more than just one part, starting with Fomalhaut. I am very interested in Fomalhaut, as it is on my Ascendant, too. Is it as bad (or good) as they say?

This is Jim Bakker's chart for the day that the public was told about his mistakes.

Fomalhaut had nothing to do with that day. There were no transits nor progressions related to that fixed star on the man's Ascendant.
Fomalhaut, by Nasa

Fixed star Fomalhaut is in the 4th degree (3-4) of Pisces.  Janduz pictured this degree as the hermit's place or a sanctuary. Others say that there is a dark side on Fomalhaut. The charisma that sometimes comes with a special position of this fixed star will only be positive when we stick to our ideals.

It would be nice to study many more charts with a 4th degree Pisces Ascendant and see if there is indeed a special meaning to Fomalhaut on the Ascendant, benefic or malefic. Are there any more examples? I have Jim Bakker,  Fabrizio Ravanelli (football player born December 11, 1968),  Ellen Pompeo (November 10, 1968), French painter Henri Laville, Alain Lamassoure (politician), the eldest woman ever: Jeanne Calment, Pierre Paolo Passolini... And searching the web this is what crossed my mind:

If Fomalhaut on the Ascendant makes you either famous or notorious, why aren't there many more examples and why aren't there many more famous/notorious persons with Fomalhaut on the Ascendant?

Tthe chart of Jim Bakker shows me that it takes more than just Fomalhaut to explain his situation. Did I also learn that Fomalhaut is meaningless? It is just a thought, but it is one that suites my way of interpreting a chart as 'the picture of what we see on earth, including all that an astrologer chooses to use'.

How meaningful are those fixed stars? I know a person who's Midheaven is conjunct Regulus. He thinks he will or ought to be a sort of a king. But many many millions are born with Sun conjunct Regulus! We may never even notice them. (OK Maybe that is because the Sun is not align with Regulus and it takes a parallel conjunction, too. But that doesn't apply to the Ascendant…)

Fixed stars might be 'part of the picture' and they should be studied related to charts, progressions, transits and people. Fixed stars shouldn't be seen as an omen. That is what I think I learned, but ...I am curious about testimonies and examples that prove me wrong.
