It is April 10, the birthday of Joan Quigley, one of the most noted astrologer's in the USA, because she was Nancy Reagan's private astrologer since 1973 (her progressed Midheaven trine her natal Uranus). Astrodatabank mentions that unsuccessfully tried to start a dot.com business in 2001 (with Progressed MC semi square Pluto and progressed Sun square Uranus). She is 87 now and the transits of Uranus, Pluto and Jupiter all hit her progressed Sun lately.
The importance of the angular Mercury, the angular Jupiter and the 'calling' Uranus*) would already point at the 'helicopter view mind' that is required to study (Mercury) astrology (Jupiter-Uranus), but also shows how important communications (Mercury), techniques (Uranus) and guidance (Jupiter) are in her life, apart from family matters (Ceres). The Aries Sun shows enterprise and the Leo Moon is for the glamour. Being the advisor of USA's First Lady is of course something to be proud of. The cool Virgo Ascendant is trine Venus, corresponding with the fact that she was pretty. Perhaps Sun in 8 inconjunct Ascendant shows us that she was 'a star' in the eyes of many, but (inconjunct = 'but') exaggerated, or at the cost of her own lifestyle.
Her Pluto is conjunct the Sun of Nancy Reagan, whose Saturn is inconjunct the Sun of Joan Quigley and opposition Quigley's Jupiter. So there is a Sun Saturn side for Nancy Reagan and a Sun Jupiter Pluto side for Joan Quigley, corresponding with the fact that the relationship was a success for the astrologer while people mocked Nancy Reagan for consulting an astrologer (even Barack Obama did).
Well, let's not be sad about the lack of appreciation and let's find the astrology in her chart that you see here with transits and progressions for today, her birthday.
1. Uranus is 'calling' (no aspects in 5 dg orb or in sign) and rising before the Sun + at Aries Point.
2. Jupiter is opposition Ascendant.
So both Jupiter and Uranus are important
Midpoint Jupiter/Uranus is in the 25th degree of Pisces, square Mars in X (and square the Galactic Center)
I also like Neptune/Pluto midpoint semi square Midheaven for the discretion that was required in her position.
Here is an interview with her in 2002 called 'The cosmos of Joan Quigley'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4T-Cxh5SPWI
I hear her say that she entered the mass market in the early 90's and found that she couldn't deal with it, because there is no mass astrology (very true) and that one day astrology will be recognized (I have my doubts…but I am glad that I did:).

Getting back to Jodi Arias
NATAL CHART, SYNASTRY
You can see the post about his and her chart and the synastry here, but in short on the synastry:
- Her Mars was 112.5 d his Mars (that is a square + half semi square).
- There was also a shared minor Mars-Uranus aspect in both charts: explosive fights and ditto sex.
-Mars quindecile Eris in her chart and (as he was her age) his Eris also quindecile her Mars symbolized the obsessive war of the sexes.
Her Mars is so important because Mars is opposition Aries point and 'calling'. It means that the energy and drive of Mars can show up anyway, somehow and at any possible level!
I also mentioned that her progressed Sun was semi square Mars and that is reflecting time for ' manifest aggression'.
MARS EVEN MORE IMPORTANT
Now the time of birth of Jodi Arias has been published by Astro.com (1.52 a.m. on July 9, 1980).
1. First observation
With the birth time at hand, it is obvious that Mars was even more important at the moment that she was born.
- The midpoint Sun/Moon is square her 'calling' Mars opposite Zero Aries!
- Her very important Mars is sesquisquare Ascendant.
- Her most important planet Mars is quintile Sun for a creative way to manifest the energy and drive of Mars.
2. Second observation:
Saturn is conjunct the midpoint Ascendant/Midheaven and trine Midheaven. This issues the need to be respected. (see: http://www.astromarkt.net/sunmoon-ascendantmc.html ) Saturn is also inconjunct Midheaven in the progressed chart. Read about this: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/05/saturn-inconjunct-midheaven-and-lost.html
It means lost status. That might be even more important for someone with a key need to be respected.
Now we have a very important Mars and a crucial Saturn. Together they are the symbol of discipline, punishment, dead ends and death. (And how about that lonely, not aspected Juno in the 5th, inconjunct Midheaven? Transit Juno was square her progressed Saturn at the time of the murder.)
TRANSITS AND PROGRESSIONS
On the specific day we see:
1. Progressed Mars (her important Mars!) trine progressed Ascendant (taking action, opportunity to act)
2. Transit Mars was square natal Ascendant (hurt; active or passive)
Remember the natal Mars-Ascendant aspect?
3. I already mentioned: Progressed Sun semi square Mars (manifest aggression)
Remember the natal Sun-Mars aspect?
4.. In the progressed chart Mars is almost exactly opposition Eris (wartime)
Remember the natal Mars-Eris and the synastry Mars-Eris?
5. Transit Pluto is sesquisquare progressed Ascendant (forcing changes, frustrating stress). Pluto rules her 7th house of partners and is the natural ruler of the 8th house.
6. Transit Neptune conjunct Progressed Midheaven (confusion, seclusion). Neptune is in the 8th house of sex, crisis, life and death of the natal chart.
There are 2 aspects between Mars and Ascendant (one transit/natal, one progressed) and there is a natal aspect already. The Sun-Mars quintile is being enforced by the P Sun semi square Mars.
Important events are reflected by the resonation of natal aspects by progressed aspects or by transit.
There were 3 hits with the important Mars in total. This is a strong signal for anger, being assertive and taking action. In a woman's chart it is also a signal for the importance of males.
Besides, there are 'supporting' aspects. They don't help much.
Maybe you find even more when you see this chart with transits and progressions for the day that she killed her former lover, Travis Alexander. It was on June 4, 2008.

Jacqueline Bouvier, chart of a widow
Following my tweet about Jacky Kennedy's chart and the publication of interviews with the former First Lady, here is the Astro.com A-rated chart with transits and progressions for today and a story about the widow in her chart.
CHART
Above is the chart with transits and progressions for now. Resonating the Neptune-MC conjunction in the natal chart, right now transit Neptune is opposition her Midheaven. That is a strong moment for revealing secrets and increased media activity. Transit Neptune is also inconjunct her progressed Venus with progressed Venus inconjunct natal IC and progressed IC inconjunct Saturn.

That is a strong moment for revealing secrets and increased media activity. Transit Neptune is also inconjunct her progressed Venus with progressed Venus inconjunct natal IC and progressed IC inconjunct Saturn.
I included Juno (close to her Ascendant, like in the charts of Prince Albert and George Clooney). In a female's chart Juno's angularity might point at the importance of 'being someone's wife'.
JUNO AND 7th HOUSE
Maybe it is because of Juno on the Ascendant that we know Jacqueline Kennedy mostly because of her marriages: the first with John F. Kennedy and later with Aristoteles Onassis (see post about him and Maria Callas. The importance of marriage is also visible in the seventh house, with Jupiter (an important signal for both 'the international' and 'more than one or once'...), Ceres (symbol of motherhood and dynasties) and Orcus, the symbol of broken promises.
TWO MARRIAGES AND NO DIVORCE
Jacqueline Kennedy married twice. We see Venus in Gemini, opposition Saturn. It is a contradictio in terminis.
Venus, symbol of love, is in a double bodied sign (and that says: more than once, see that post...).
Saturn, however, tends to stick to a love like a stamp to a letter.
With Venus-Saturn there are responsibilities, mortgages, children and parents to consider when love has ended and it will be hard to separate. Material things are important in a Venus-Saturn marriage.
Also, Pluto rising before her natal Sun tells us about the importance of power, influence, politics, values and the persons that you know. She had a relationship when she met JFK, with a man who didn't make enough money in her mother's eyes. It was on her mother's advice, they say, that she stopped seeing her fiancé. Venus-Saturn*): men with such an aspect are (more than women) untrue in such a dead marriage (or should I say: a love commitment with duties and obligations).

Jackie Kennedy had a husband who cheated on her and her second husband also wasn't true. But in the interviews she mentions the faults and mistakes of M.L. King and General De Gaulle and L.B. Johnson...Maybe it was too soon after the death of her husband to even slightly mention it (he was an idol!). Did she really not know about her husband's sexual adventures? There are a number of astrological reasons why she would never mention them.
1. Venus-Saturn will do anything to keep up appearances in marriage.
2. Neptune on Midheaven might help her to see the world from an idealistic or romantic point of view.
3. And all those trines and sextiles tend to prefer the easy way out instead of nasty processes as a divorce.
4. Even more important is the Northern Node opposition Ascendant and Juno. That strongly connects her situation and relationships to the family and the larger community. Her relationships and marriages were important for more persons that just herself...
5. Circumstances, gender, situation, culture
She was rather conservative and the sixties hadn't roared, yet, when she was married with JFK. Ladies were supposed not to see their husbands' mistresses and prostitutes at the time.
There are numbers of reasons why women don't divorce their unfaithful husbands. In her natal chart we don't see the usual 3 ' suspects' (indications for divorce): afflictions of Sun-Mars, Sun-Uranus and Venus-Uranus, either.
TWO TIMES A WIDOW
It must have been painful, just as watching her husband's violent dead. Perhaps that is the meaning of Chiron conjunct the Descendant...She became a widow twice.
BTW I just 'discovered' that the symbol of the turning point (and change), Pholus, is quindecile (165d, symbol of obsession and focus) the Sun/Moon midpoint of marriage and square Aries Point. Does that mean a strong focus on family life and the risk of the experience of important turning points in that family life?

DEATHS OF HUSBANDS
On November 22, 1963 transit Saturn was almost exactly square her natal Ascendant/Descendant. That is when her first husband died, a few months after her two day old son died. It was a hard year for her.
Here are the charts of both important moments (death of JFK and death of Onassis).

Uranus, Uranium and the arrow of time
The chemical element Uranium, discovered in 1789 by the German chemist Martin Heinrich Klaproth, was named after the newly discovered planet Uranus. ...That is on Wikipedia. Uranium is the fuel of the nuclear plant. Right now there is a lot of attention for radiation levels, following the earthquake in Japan. Right now Uranus is in the first degree of Aries.
Earlier I studied the historic events during Uranus in Aries (in the first degree) and I found few Historic Events, except for the invention of the first accelerator. There were no nuclear plants in those days. That is a new situation.
A week ago I watched Professor Brian Cox about the Second Law of Thermodynamics related to the universe. If I understood him well, he said:
- entropy increases
- from order to disorder
- past will change
- future won't return to past
That is the arrow of time. Everything must eventually end. And when it ends, we can't get things back as they used to be. Change is all around.
Picture this: a piece of ice falling of a gletscher will never get out of the water again and manage to stick to that wall like before. (The idea about the universe is, that in the end there will be nothing left but a minuscule dark spot.)
That is what happens with history and the positions of planets, too. Nothing is the same as it was before.
When Uranus was named 'Uranus' (a few years after Herschel spotted the planet), there was shortage of food in Europe (because of dust of the vulcano Laki). The French Revolution followed, a few years later than the outburst of Laki. There was no Uranus-Pluto or Uranus at Aries Point. And there was no nuclear plant.
That is what crossed my mind...

Zero Aries (Aries Point)
Soon Jupiter and Uranus will be conjunct the first degree of the Zodiac, nick named Zero Aries. It should be Uno Aries, unless you consider the final degree of Pisces to be conjunct Zero Aries, too. Zero Aries or Aries Point is supposed to be the degree that shows you how you are 'known' or what you are known for and how you interface with those outside of your social circle/family. That is said, but is it true? This post offers some material for your study and gives examples. Continue if you are interested..

Aries Point or Zero Aries and your Sun
Aries Point or Zero Aries is the first degree of the zodiac (0-1 Aries). It is the position of the Sun when spring begins (for the northern half of the globe). This important position can reflect some of the impression that others have of your way of presenting yourself, for example as a serious and ambitious person (Saturn, like Christina Onassis and Saddam Hussein) or as a leading figure (Sun), just like Tony Blair and Prince William. Just read the article on Astromarkt for more about Zero Aries....
Your Sun is at Zero Aries on 20,21 or 22 March (and you are supposed to draw attention somehow, be a leader, show off or have a special fysical appearance). Hard aspects like squares and oppositions between Sun and Aries Point exist when you were born on:
3, 4 or 5 Februari
5, 6 or 7 May
21, 22 or 23 June
7, 8 or 9 August
22, 23 or 24 September (that is an opposition, when it is springtime in Australia)
6, 7 or 8 November
21, 22 or 23 December
Maybe you were born on such a day. Are you a Sun-Aries Point person and is it true that people don't fail to notice you? Or (perhaps because of a shy Ascendant) have you never noticed that you have a Sun-Aries Point aspect (and hasn't the outside world really noticed you)? Please use the poll.

Mars-Uranus, sparks and Uranus in (Zero) Aries
Mars-Uranus is the combination of the short fuse. On Astromarkt is an article about Mars-Uranus and on this blog you find examples starting with this post when you use the label Mars Uranus. I think that the Prodigy's 'Firestarter' is a perfect illustrtation of an extreme case of Mars-Uranus:). Just watch the video on YouTube and you will see why.

Jupiter-Neptune and speculations
Jerome Kerviel has been convicted. He got a few years in prison, but he probably won't have to live a life of misery till he dies. The billions that he lost when he speculated with the bank's money probably won't have to be returned. It would take him 177.000 years of hard labour to do so, anyway...This is the news and here is Wikipedia about Kerviel....
The conviction is 2,5 years after his losts. Kerviel has Venus biquintile Pluto (for a creative way to earn money) and Sun trine Jupiter (for self confidence and successes). He also has Jupiter biquintile Pluto. It is a combination for big money and I think billions are big enough. But why did it go wrong? When it went wrong the progressed Sun was square Jupiter and Neptune was square natal Jupiter. He did too much. Transit Saturn opposiion Venus mirrored the deception and lack of money, transit Pluto 75 Pluto made a problem of values.

Uranus in Aries, 1927/1928 and 2010
This year May 27 and on March 11, 2011 Uranus will be on 0.0 degree Aries (Aries Point). On April 1, 1927 and on January 13, 1928 Uranus was on 0.0 degree Aries, too. And what happened? I checked the internet and found 3 important events having impact on life on earth today: the independence of Iraq and Saudi Arabia and the invention of the first (primitive) particle accelerator. And how about you? Uranus-Uranus aspects by transit or progression tend to accelerate YOU!
WHAT HAPPENED?
The 1st automatic record changer was introduced by His Master’s Voice. That is all. On January 13m 1928 Uranus was on 0.0 degree Aries again. What happened in between? Chiang-Kai-shek started his counter revolution. Saudi Arabia became independent of Great Britain*) on May 20 (Treaty of Jedda; never knew that Saudi Arabia was once part of the British Empire). On July 14 in Hawaii there was the very first commercial airplane flight and six days later Lindbergh begon his NY flight. The first iron lung was installed on July 29 in NY. On November 12 Stalin became the undisputed dictator of the USSR (Trotsky was expelled from the Sovjet Union). Iraq became independent *)of the UK on December 14 and the first air conditioned office was opened in the USA.
You can find these facts on Brainyhistory.com http://www.brainyhistory.com/years/1928.html*)

SO WHAT?...
What do these facts tell us about Uranus at Aries Point, the starting point of the Zodiac?
It seem that the introduction of Uranus in Aries is not very special for the entire world, at first. But, the final degrees of Pisces offered indepence to Iraq and Saudi Arabia and that was of importance to the inhabitans and to Great (but getting smallerJ) Britain. Now, with Uranus in the last decade of Pisces again, we see the impact of that event. So watch the news and look back after 82 years to see if anything happens now that will be important in 2092.
- JUPITER CONJUNCT URANUS 1928
What does it mean that Jupiter joined Uranus on January 23, 1928 and that that was the day of ‘ Brave Soldier Schwejk’s premiere? On that day Chico Carrasquel (Baseball Venezuela) was born and so was Jeanne Moreau (actress, Frane). But the world didn’t change much, even though Russia and Japan agreed to allow Japanes fishermen in Russian waters on that day. German Wikipedia mentions
“Auf den Färöern wird die sozialdemokratische Partei Javnaðarflokkurin („Gleichheitspartei“) gegrĂĽndet.
OK..is that all?:)
There is one invention that caught my eye, however. In 1928 Wideroe published a dissertation about the first particle accelerator ever. http://www.waloschek.de/pedro/pedro-texte/wid-e-2002.pdf
And didn’t the Swiss start an accelerator (CERN) lately?
WHAT COULD/SHOULD OR MIGHT IT MEAN? JUST GUESSING...
Sometimes it is easy to draw conclusions about a position in the sky and start associating. Uranus in Aries, what could it be? A fresh new start for astrology? Introduction of new techniques? An incident that awakens the world? And Uranus conjunct Jupiter, shouldn’t that be a sudden windfall for the world united? Looking back in history is sometimes like a cold shower, but it helps to see that relating events to positions is easier when you don’t use exact dates and positions. Or else I could refer to Uranus move to Aries as the prelude to disaster (October 1929, Wall street crash), caused by high expectations in the summer of 1929, but…Uranus had moved about 10 degrees into Aries by then. Or I could name the rise of the Nazi-party, but in 1928 (the period of Uranus at Zero Aries) the party had the lowest possible seats in parliament. The party started growing after the crash!
CONCLUSION
My conclusion is that the impact of inventions or independence of nations in the period of Uranus move to Aries is visible about 80 years later. And most of us don’t live long enough to witness and understand the impact of the first and the results in the second move to Aries. That is it. Or am I accelerating?
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Few of us will experience a Uranus return. Some of us will experience a progressed Uranus return (when the retrograding Uranus goes direct in the first 2 or 3 months after birth). Transit Uranus opposition with Uranus is more frequent. I had it in a hectic month and year that changed my prospects. Sort of a midlife crisis, an wake-up call and bit of alarming change, but kicking! Or should I say: accelerating?
PS about the data of Brain History for Iraq and Saudi Arabia:
The official indepence dates were years later. The British troops didn't immediately leave Iraq, for example. And the 'independence' date of Saudi Arabia is the date of the Treaty of Jeddah (permitting indepence to the King for part of the country). The official natal charts have other data.

Chart and life of Evita Peron

One of the most interesting lives of women is the life of Evita Peron. Her natal chart for May 7, 1919 at 5h15 LMT Los Toldos is perfect for this woman with sense of drama, glamour and persistence. She was an idol and her life revolved around politics, sex, power and influence. Like in the case of Princess Diana her death and funeral became a public drama. What in het chart shows this? And how do the progressions (and transits) correspond with her life?
The most remarkable things in her chart (considering what we know about Evita Perron) are:
1. Neptune is ‘ calling’ and angular (close to the IC). This makes us think of romance, an idol, mystery, scandal, charity and art…all this at any possible level. We know that Evita Peron wAs an idol. But there is another side on Neptune on IC and that is for a negative background.
2. Fixed signs are important in her chart. 50% of the positions are in fixed signs, reflecting will power.
3. Leo Moon for the need to show off and for the drama queen. The Moon conjunct Saturn is reflecting the way she remembered her childhood (cold and hard).
4. Sun/Moon semi square Pluto shows us that she was motivated by power and influence.
5. Sun square Saturn (wide aspect, but the Sun and Saturn are both in aspect with the Moon).
Her father never acknowledge his daughter and died when she was only 7 (and the square had grown tighter in progression). Like a lot of other persons with Sun-Saturn she managed to be in charge... (click for more examples).
6. Mars semi square Aries Point en conjunct Sun reveals an assertive woman, the importance of men (and soldiers) and her enterprise. She would marry an important man and the army would block her attempt to become the vice-president.
7. Venus (final dispositor of Midheaven) is biquintile Midheaven for a creative way to improve her status (with the help of beauty, talent and charm)
8. Pholus sesquisquare Ascendant might reflect how her situation changed. The midpoint AC/MC is square Pholus in this B-rated chart (source Astrodatabank) and seems to be correct because she definitely altered her state of being (from poor peasant girl to First Lady). Pholus is in her 8th house of life and death, revealing the importance of her death for who she would be in the end (she became ‘ immortal’).
When she was born she didn't exactly have the kind of chart that promissed a glorious life. The tightest angular placement is for Vesta on IC: she was dedicated to her goals!
PROGRESSIONS
9. She left her home town for Buenos Aires at age 15(!). That was a right decision at the perfect time. The progressions of that year are: P Sun trine MC, P MC square Sun, P Moon trine Venus, sesquisquare Jupiter and trine Pluto – successful combination for an artist – and P Venus conjunct Jupiter. It is an abundancy of nice and shiny aspects, completed by transit Pholus trine progressed Ascendant (the small start of a new presentation). Also, her progressed Sun had changed sign and that is an indication for a change in lifestyle. The first aspect in the new sign was a quintile with progressed Juno. The next period of 30 years of her life started with the symbol of the married woman in a creative aspect with her sun. In the progressed chart Mercury (ruler of the progressed 5th house of entertainment, the other gender, and show) was on the Ascendant. There was one little nasty thing: P Moon opposition P Saturn, reflecting hard or bad feelings, feeling alone.
10. When she met Juan Peron she had P MC trine Venus (ruler of the seventh house), an appropiate aspect for finding a partner. Shortly after meeting him, the progressed Moon was conjunct Jupiter and that is a fortunate aspect. Her progressed Sun was opposition Pholus, reflecting a turning point in life achieved by others, when Juan Peron was elected President and she became First Lady.
11. Her Pluto was inconjunct the Northern Node and afflicting her Moon. As soon as she could she took revenge on the middle class people who looked down on her when she was younger and less important. She abused her position of power to get this revenge.
12. There were only 6 years of glory. In November of 1951 (with progressed Mars quintile Saturn) she was told that she had advanced cervical cancer. She was creative enough (quintile) to use iron (Mars) constructions (Saturn) to keep herself up right until the end.
13. She passed away on July 26 1952 at 20h23. There are several indications in the solar return chart. I won't name all of them (who would like to know?). 1. Pholus crossed over the Midheaven and Pholus is in the natal 8th house of life and death + pointing at a turning point in her condition. Since she was already seriously ill, this was a bad sign. 2. Also P MC was sextile Orcus (the symbol of the underworld). 3. Transit Saturn sesquisquare Progressed Ascendant and afflicting progressed Sun/Moon. 4. Transit Jupiter -ruler of the progressed 8th house- is semi square natal Sun/Moon.
MATCH WITH JUAN
Evita had several indications for a possible divorce and I wonder if she would have divorce Juan Peron if she had not died so young. Her Sun is conjunct Mars and 75 d Uranus with Mars in a wider square with Saturn. Those are 3 of the 4 possible indications. Juan Peron (born October 8, 1895) also had Sun conjunct Mars. As soon as the common enemy would be beaten they would start competing. Their Suns are inconjunct and her Mars is inconjunct his. His Chiron is inconjunct her natal Sun. Three inconjunctions bind them. It is a sort of a statement of ‘ lost’ and loosing each other. Nevertheless the popularity of Evita Peron was important for her husband. In his chart Venus is on top, inconjunct Neptune. The planets who are most prominent in the chart of Evita are angular in his chart. Perhaps they shared the same romantic ideal and what is more romantic than a sad love story? Here you see her chart. The positions of the transits are for the day of birth of Juan Peron.

PPS The 28th degree of Aries: ' Large disappointed audience' says this site about sabian symbols...It is the Ascendant degree of Evita Peron, if this is indeed the correct HOB.

Chart of day of birth Herman van Rompuy

The latest post was about J.P. Balkenende, possible candidate for the European Presidency, but with a handicap in the chart (an inconjunct between Saturn and MC, activated by transit) that seems to have turned into a real handicap: his French is not sufficient and the Dutch population is not as pro-European as it was before. His chances don't grow...
So now there is another name on everybody's lips: Herman van Rompuy. He is a Belgian politician and no one is against his candidacy. Here is his chart. There are no important transits and progressions at first sight, but as it is a chart without hour of birth, the Midheaven position might change everything. What you see is the chart of a leader (the Sun without major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees), who wants to make changes (Uranus 'calling' too). In September 2007 I wrote about his chart because of his involvement in the formation of the Belgian government. He is a conservative with a 'calling' Neptune rising before the Sun. Neptune is the symbol of ideology and religion. But it is also a prominent planet in the charts of artists. Herman van Rompuy makes 'haiku's' (Venus semi square Mars/Jupiter and Jupiter/Pluto is reflecting successes and ...a lot of support). There are many positions in fixed signs (for a strong will). Mars is conjunct Pluto and sesquisquare Aries Point, mirroring the use of power, and political struggle. In 2007 he had a progressed trine between Jupiter and Pluto. Venus in Scorpio explains his second study: economics. If he becomes the European chairman and if I get to know his hour of birth, I'll be back on this chart.

Landing on the Moon

This is the chart of an important moment in history: the moment of the landing of Apollo 11 on the surface of the Moon as seen from Houston. For such a moment you would expect an extreme chart, but it is a rather ordinary one. It is not the chart of the event on the moon. It would be nice to have a chart with coordinates of the Moon and the position of the earth and the planets, but there is no such chart (and I cannot calculate one). Houston was the center of activity, home for the astronauts, so I took this chart.
WORRIES FOLLOWED BY EMOTIONAL CONTACT
In the chart the Moon is inconjunct Saturn but that aspect has already been tight and so the critical moment had gone bye. The meaning of Moon inconjunct Saturn is misbalanced and extreme worry (and we know why!:). There is an increasing quindecile of Moon and Node, connecting emotions and groups. Soon after the landing Neil Armstrong would step down the ladder and tell the world about it. JUPITER AND URANUS
Jupiter and Uranus are opposition Aries Point, and that is important, because astronauts (like astrologers) frequently (if not always) have an important combination of Jupiter and Uranus in their charts. The combination of Jupiter, Uranus and Aries Point is reflecting the positive change for the world and the world watching the new developments. Jupiter and Uranus are also in hard aspect with the crucial midpoint ASC/MC exactly at the moment of the landing. More examples of Jupiter-Uranus on this blog...
JUPITER
These guys are true travelers. They boldly went were no man had gone before and they safely returned. Jupiter is the planet for those who travel. Jupiter is connected to the Midheaven (career) of the two astronauts who's Midheaven we know.
Chart of the astronauts

BUZZ ALDRIN
The conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus is trine the Sun of Edwin Aldrin, who has Jupiter sextile Uranus in the natal chart. His Jupiter is square Midheaven and the elevated Uranus is semi quintile MC.
Pallas is elevated in the natal chart. At the moment of the landing Pallas was tightly conjunct his Descendant. Pallas perhaps symbolizes the importance of patterns, but Pallas is also Pallas Athene.
Aldrin is a religious person (Neptune opposition Ascendant and square Jupiter).
NEIL ARMSTRONG
The moment of the landing is exactly with transit Mars on the Descendant of Neil Armstrong. Even the local Ascendant of Houston was opposition his. It is a moment of action, of 'hitting the target'. In his progressed chart Mars was close to the Ascendant as well. Mars is sesqui semi square AC/MC in his natal chart, reflecting the importance of the military (action, sports etc.).
Pallas would be conjunct his natal Moon shortly after the landing.
The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction is quindecile his Uranus (ruler of his Midheaven). In the natal chart Jupiter is inconjunct the Aquarius Midheaven and that is another Jupiter-Uranus combination. In the progressed chart Jupiter already had been square Uranus and the combination of Jupiter and Uranus was in the first degree of Gemini, sextile Aries Point.
Armstrong was born to draw most of the attention (Sun opposition MC).
MICHAEL COLLINS (31 October 1930 Rome, no hour of birth)
The progressed Saturn of Collins (the man who remained in the Apollo 11 and who was responsible for the safe return on board of the 'moonwalkers') was exactly trine Midheaven of the landing. Progressed Uranus was inconjunct the MC of that Moment (for the tension, I guess).

Chart of Maria del Carmen Bousada and twins (no Hob)

Maria del Carmen Bousada was the oldest mother ever and she died of cancer less then three years after giving birth to her twins. Her date of birth is January 5, 1940 and it was in Cádiz, Spain, but there is no time of birth known. On the day that she was born Mars was conjunct Jupiter on Aries Point, trine Pluto as if to illustrate that the world would know her for her successful production or labour. This combination comes back in the combine chart of her and her twins (Sun square Mars and inconjunct Jupiter, Mars sextile Jupiter).
The Moon rising before the Sun gives an orientation on what is close to yourself and on for example children. She did not have them before she was almost 67, on December 29, 2006 in Barcelona, when transit Saturn was trine her natal Saturn to make it easy (trine) to be old (Saturn) and a parent (Saturn).
Transit Mars was inconjunct progressed Mars for being out of balance, hurt or being in labour (Mars). It is not uncommon to see an active Mars in the synastry with our children because of pain, cuts, injections and scars. Transit Saturn was also semi sextile her progressed Neptune at that time, when she perhaps was feeling the first symptoms of her later fatal illnes. In her natal chart Saturn is inconjunct Neptune as well. That transit activated the existing possiblity of serious illness (Saturn-Neptune).
CERES
If she was born with a Gemini Ascendant (possible, because she managed to lie about her age, so she looked young) Ceres is square Sun/Moon and when she discovered the possiblity of getting pregnant her progressed Sun was square Ceres. That would motivate her strongly, because Ceres is the symbol of motherhood and Sun/Moon is the symbol of what motivates you. For more examples of the effect of Ceres, click the label. More about Ceres? Click here...
TWINS
It will be a shocking change for her children, who deal with heavy transits like transit Uranus square natal Pluto (the symbol of sudden change) and transit Saturn square progressed Mars and inconjunct progressed Neptune (for the lost related to death).

Astrological New Year (Spring!) 2009

Astrological New Year is near. It is the moment that the Sun is at exactly Zero Aries, when spring starts! Above is the chart for that moment and it is a nice chart. The most prominent placements are for the elevated Moon, the not aspected Jupiter and for Uranus, rising before the Sun. Jupiter and Uranus reflect astrology as you may see in the post about Jupiter, Uranus and the charts of astrologers. And... Jupiter/Uranus is what Ebertin called the 'Thank God combination'! The symbols of relief are important in the natal chart of 'our' new year!
Together with the elevated satelite of the earth we see Moon, Jupiter and Uranus prominent, reflecting positive change. It is a sign of hope, just like spring itself. Let us hope that this chart (for Zero Aries in the worlds' economical capital New York) will indeed be the trend setter for the rest of 2009.

Astrology chart Jaya Prada and the escaped attack

The car of Jaya Prada, leader of the Samajwadi Party in India and Bollywood actress, has been attacked but she escaped unhurt. This happens to her on a hectic day with solar transit opposition Uranus, and with Venus and Mars both inconjunct her Pluto. That is reflecting disproportional (inconjunction) passions (Venus and Mars) in politics (Pluto). The lucky escape is shown by transit Jupiter conjunct Saturn (an advantage going together with a disadvantage) and by the solar transit trine progressed Venus.
What in her chart shows the actrice and the politician? As her hour of birth is unknown, we will have to use the chart of the day of her birth (April 3, 1962) and see if there is any important placement or aspect. This is what you see:
Mercury is on Aries Point, reflecting the importance of communications
Moon is in the artistic sign of Pisces
Moon rises before the Sun, for emotions and senses first
Venus is quindecile Neptune to show the focus on artistic talents
Venus is 'rushing into Taurus' (in the final degrees of Aries). Taurus is a good sign for artists
Jupiter does not make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. A 'calling' Jupiter tells us that there will be development and successes and that travelling around is important
Pluto does not make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. A 'calling' Pluto tells us about the importance of money, sex, power, influence, danger and politics.
The combination of Jupiter and Pluto promisses great success. Beauty helps (she has Venus trine Uranus).
Any person born on April 3 1962 has this promissing profile, but it depends on where you were born and how you were raised, too. The profilel will be stronger when there are important angular placements and/or when the midpoints Sun/Moon or Ascendant/MC confirm what has been found in the chart of the day of birth. For your information: Jaya Prada was born in a middle class family. Her father was a film financier and her mother thought her how to dance. When she was 14 years old she performed a dance at school and was 'discovered'. That was with progressed Sun trine Uranus and progressed Mercury conjunct Venus.

Astrology chart Johanna Sigurdardottir

Johanna Sigurdardottir will be the first lesbian Prime Minister in the world and she will be that in Iceland. She was born October 4, 1942 and is 66 years old today.
Transit Pluto is now inconjunct her progressed Uranus, reflecting stress and tension. Iceland is in trouble since the monetary crisis and the government has fallen. Sigurdardottir has Venus and Neptune rising before the Sun and opposition Aries Point (marking the way people see you). Isn't it interesting that she is first of all seen in the light of her romantic preferences (Venus-Neptune)? She is an idealist (Neptune oriental) and she has the attitude of a leader (Moon in Leo). Sun conjunct Mars tells us that she is an assertive, energetic promoter.
With Sun trine Saturn and sextile Pluto (and Sun square Saturn/Pluto) she will likely be the kind of 'die hard' who will be able to survive this political crisis.
BTW: notice her looks: perhaps that is also part of Venus - for representations, style and beauty - opposition Aries Point.
Without hour of birth this is all, except for this: 50% of the positions on her day of birth in air...that is reflecting communications at any level. Maybe she uses a lot of words (Mercury square Jupiter)and when she does you will know why:)...See the post about Mercury's aspects. Of course, Mercury-Jupiter also reflects successful communications.

Chart of Tiger Woods (and what he has in common with Sourav Ganguly)
Tiger Woods will be one of the speakers on Inauguration Day, in the morning. Interesting that his Mercury, symbol of communications and dispositor of his Midheaven and Ascendant, is conjunct the MC of the moment of Inauguration...

Tiger Woods is a very successful golf player. Sourav Ganguly is a famous cricket player. The tools are in both cases a stick and a ball (as you may notice, I am not an expert in sports:). In both cases there was a great influence of the father in the career. I wondered in what way their charts would be alike and I found a lot. There is a complete list when you scroll down. But first, the highlights!
You will find that both have an important Saturn, Pallas and Moon. And that they share a Gemini Midheaven. Saturn is the symbol of the parent (and ambition:) and the Moon reflects among other things, education and early years. Sourav an Tiger both have an important Pallas. Pallas is the symbol of patterns and often of importance in the charts of artists. I think Pallas is the symbol of associating (bringing together, linking, to unite ideas and experiences from the past).
Moon and Neptune are important in the pattern of artistic talents that you see on my blog Art & Astrology. They reflect imagination and vision. A golf player has to be able to 'have a vision' of the future routing of the ball. Both have Moon and Neptune close to the meridian. Here are the charts:

And here you see what they share:
1. Gemini Midheaven
2. Prominent placement of the Moon (Sourav on top,Tiger on IC)
3. Prominence of Saturn (Sourav oriental, Tiger 'calling'*)
4. Important Pallas: Pallas sesquisquare ASC/MC and on DESC, square Midheaven (Woods) and Pallas semi square Sun/Moon and conjunct Mercury ruler ASC and MC (Sourav)
5. Both have Moon and Neptune close to the meridian
Moon on ASC/MC for Tiger, Neptune on ASC/MC for Sourav
6. Moon in movable sign
7. They share major aspects between:
- Sun and Uranus
- Moon and Mars
- Mercury and Saturn
- Venus and Saturn
- Jupiter and Pluto
8. Aries Point is involved in a midpoint combination that includes Jupiter and Pluto
Woods AP sq Sun/Moon, opp Venus/Saturn, semisq Jupiter/Neptune, conj Sun/Mars, sesqu Mars/Pluto and semi sq Mars/Jupiter
Ganguly AP sesquisquare Jupiter/Pluto, 157.5 Mercury/Jupiter and Mercury/Pluto, square Jupiter/MC and sesquisquare Pluto/MC and AP square Jupiter
BTW, Jupiter is the symbol of support, joy and a positive attitude. Woods' Jupiter is square Ganguly's ASC/MC, Ganguly's Jupiter is conjunct Woods' Sun/Moon. And this is the picture of the two together.
*) 'Calling' = without Ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. Oriental means: rising before the Sun as first important planet

Astrology chart Indira Gandhi,
born November 19

Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917 in Allahabad, India. She was the only child of the first prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. Here you see the natal chart of Mrs. Gandhi with an angular Uranus and Saturn (sesquisquare Zero Aries), Mars oriental, and Ceres the first planet to rise before the Sun, angular and crucial on the IC. Mrs. Gandhi was born in an influencial and important family. Her father and the dynasty (Saturn and Ceres) were important for her position in life. Seen in the light of that position we could read Cers on the IC like this: mother (Ceres*) of the nation (IC).

MOON IN CAPRICORN: Need to be in charge
Moon in Capricorn is 'void of course'. I use that term for the natal moon, even though it is generally being used in horary charts. I mean that the Moon will not make any more aspects in sign. The latest aspect was the sextile with the Sun. Moon in Capricorn shows a need to be in control and is symbolizing an urge for a career. Given the importance of Saturn (being related to Zero Aries and close to the Ascendant and 'calling') this Moon in Capricorn tells us a lot about the personality of Indira Gandhi. Saturn is often prominent in the charts of people involved in the administration.
Together with the Sun in Scorpio, this Moon gives the ability to withstand political adversities. The rulers of Scorpio and Capricorn are Saturn and Pluto. Those planets symbolize the 'die hard'.
SANJAY
Indira Gandhi lost her son Sanjay due to an aero plane crash on June 23, 1980. Observations of the transits, progessions and the solar return chart show a Mars-Uranus connection, indicating shock and injury.
That day Mars was inconjunct her Uranus, symbolizing the accident. Transit Mars was also opposition her Midheaven and transit Uranus was sextile her ASC, while transit Sun was square Mars.
Ceres is in her solar return 8th house of life and death in the year of her son's death, 1980. That was also the year in which her progressed Sun changed sign for a change in life or lifestyle.
MURDERED
She did not die a natural death. She was murdered by a Sikh guard a few months after she ordered to attack a temple, an attack that cost the life of about 1000 persons. On the day of her death the tightest aspect was that of transit Saturn opposition the Midheaven. For the issue of unnatural death we see several indications:
- Mars semi square the midpoint Saturn/Pluto and
- Vulcanus 67.5 degrees from ASC/MC and semi square Pluto/MC.
When she died, it was with the Moon conjunct Midheaven (change!) in the progressed chart and the progressed ASC was opposition progressed Sun/Pluto (for a life endangering situation). The progressed Uranus and Pluto were sesquisquare for a revolutionary change.
ABOUT CERES
*)Ceres, btw, also symbolizes inheritance. The angular position of Ceres points at the crucial importance of the symbol of Ceres in her life. For more about Ceres, see the earlier post.

Chart of Josef Fritzl, the man of cellars and attics
Josef Fritzl is in the news again these days. An Austrian newspaper says that the psychological report reveals that Fritzl held his abusive mother on the attic for over 20 years, without daylight, until she died, out of revenge. Before, he was arrested for keeping his daughter and their children locked up in the basement. And nobody noticed...His chart has the same structure as the chart of O.J. Simpson has: harmonious major aspects, difficult minor ones. Just like the attic and the cellar were conceiled for the public eye, so were his crimes.
Fritzl lived in a large house. That was one of the conditions that allowed him to act as he did. Only a combination of character, situations, conditions and genes, mixed with an obedient and impressed family living in a play conducted by Fritzl himself could have produced this affair. Even without HOB the potential blue print is visible in the chart. But there were others born that day#), and they have a different life story. Apart from the fact, that an hour of birth completes the picture, there are other components for his life story.
In the wrong hands, in the wrong place and in the wrong time, this chart has the potential for family abuse, indeed. All of those wrong conditions were available in the life of Fritzl. There was abuse in his family, he lived in a place where nobody asked question and maybe these days the authorities would have been more alert. His intimidated family didn't stop him. Neither did the authorities. Maybe the lesson is that an abuser should be controlled always (also mothers hurting children), that creative talents should be allowed to grow and that no person should be allowed to have the power that Josef Fritzl had at home.
CHART OF THE DAY OF BIRTH

Now about the blueprint, the chart...
The chart shows us that Fritzl had a strong need for family life (Moon in Cancer***) and that he had an obsessive sexual 'overdrive' (Mars quindecile Uranus). He knew how to use and abuse power (Mars/Pluto with Sun) and his status and security (Saturn oriental) were important to him. Being a creative liar (Moon-Mercury, Neptune calling) and a successful (Jupiter trine Pluto) 'die hard' (Saturn-Pluto-Aries Point), it was not hard for him to create a theater play. Back stage it as a different story.
SATURN-PLUTO
The publication of the psychological report happens with transit Saturn inconjunct Fritzl’s natal Sun and Pluto opposition his progressed Sun. With Saturn-Pluto**) combinations sometimes the disadvantages of inquiries and research become an issue and it is a moment of testing your self esteem.
In the meantime, his name is synonymous to abuse and horror. Zero Aries is connected to the midpoint of the die hard (Saturn/Pluto is semisquare Zero Aries), the double life/suspect (Sun/Neptune is square Zero Aries), and the extreme male (Mars/Uranus 112.5 d Aries Point).
ABUSE: MARS-PLUTO
I have written about Fritzl before (see link below). In the earlier post about the Fritzl case I pointed at the tight midpoint combination of Sun sesquisquare Mars-Pluto (Sun is in the middle of an oppositon with Mars and a square with Pluto), for use and abuse of physical power. And how his daughter has Sun conjunct Mars and inconjunct Pluto (unbalanced self esteem). The fact that she has Mars biquintile Pluto offers the opportunity to revenge herself.*) Maybe in the family of Fritzl this combination of planets goes from one generation to another and shows a hormonal effect in the genes.
THE FAÇADE: SUN-NEPTUNE
It is hard to believe, looking out of my window, seeing the sun and blue sky, that any person could be held without anyone knowing about it. He could held his mother, because there were no brothers, sisters or other family members asking questions. His wife seems to haven been deaf, blind and dumb and his children too. How can that be? He locked his daughter in the cellar in 1984. He kept his mother in the dark between 1959 and 1989. Did Rosemarie or Elisabeth ever notice the presence of an old woman in the house? And what did he do with the body when his mother died? He had told the world that she died in 1959...
It is a strange story. But not unbelievable. It reminds me of the recent conviction of a mother in an Eastern Europe country. She used to watch her sons suffer on the monitor in her pretty citchen, cooking the food that they would not get. Her neighbour (who had not suspected such a thing) catched the picture on HIS monitor and that is how the world found out about it. It takes a lot of acting capabilities and being a good liar to keep this façade up. And he had those capabilites. Fritzl has Moon square Mercury and a prominent calling Neptune biquintile Sun (for telling what they want to hear and for creativity). So should we believe what he says?
THE MINOR ASPECTS for THE PERSON BEHIND
Even though he was not perfect, most of the people who knew Josef Fritzl believed in the picture of him that you see on the photo.
I have noticed before that the major aspects seem to correspond with the major idea of ‘the others’ about a person. And that the minor aspects tell us more about the person behind the person (the chart behind the chart, see the post about O.J. Simpson). It is the same with the chart of Fritzl. The tightest major aspect (the Ptolemaic aspect) is Venus opposition Jupiter. It is an opposition between the planets of fun and joy and offers a way to be popular or successful as an artist, for example, or with money. Josef Fritzl loved (Venus) to travel (Jupiter) and from the fact that he had friends who joined them in Thailand on holidays, we may believe that there were persons who liked the man.
Now look at the tight minor aspects.
1. Neptune tightly sesquisquare Northern Node; negative frustrating relationships
2. Venus 75 degrees away from Saturn; obsessively sticking to the disadvantages of marriage
3. Mars is quindecile Uranus (165 degrees) for obsessive sexual overdrive.
4. Two creative biquintiles: Venus-Mars and Sun-Neptune, creative in passion, able to realise his dreams by creative fantasy.
He has an indications for more than one marriage or a divorce (Mars-Uranus( but with Venus-Saturn, he never divorced. He started another family life keeping the first one intact. Circumstances allowed that his extreme sexual practices could take place without anyone noticing this. His neighbours didn't know, his family didn't suspect this...Would any astrologer have know, even if they had his HOB? I wonder. Most of the most challenging aspects CAN be used to be creative. Unless your genes (!), circumstances and situation (for example the situation at home as a child) forbid it. It is the combination, the mix, that does it, like a recipe with ingredients, that cannot do without a mixer, an oven and a cook.
#)There were others born on his day of birth, for example:
1. actor (Neptune calling!) Avery Schreiber who died in 2002 and suffered from diabetes (Venus-Jupiter). He had a heart attack in 1994 and had surgery (Mars-Uranus quindecile) but never recovered.
2. Alies Sallinnen, a Finnish composer (Neptune calling!) who's last work of art was created in 1999.
3. The prominence of both Saturn (oriental) and Neptune (calling) makes us think of an illness and of being 'sick'. Or is it lack (Saturn) of empathy (Neptune)? One of the persons born on April 9, 1935 was a museum manager and I think that person creatively used his Astro I.D. to manage (Saturn) arts (Neptune). Cellars and attics, aren't they symbolized by Neptune (the planet of hiding away?). Neptune is 'calling' in the chart of Fritzl. He used his fantasy and creativity the wrong way. It could have been different.
*) See how Mars-Pluto with Sun-Pluto worked in 'Manuelgate'.
**) Read about the effect of Saturn-Pluto on my site
***)Moon in Cancer, is not that the desire of keeping memories and emotions alive (like an actor does, or the manager of a museum)? Moon in Cancer also sticks on to his family and mother...Keeping her locked up in the attic seems to be a rather extreme way.
BTW (a besides): JAIL BIRDS AND HARMONIOUS ASPECTS
One of the most interesting things about the chart of Josef Fritzl is, that there are no tight squares. It seems that there are more inmates without squares in their charts than those with hard aspects. That might be, because soft aspects seek for the easy way out. In the life of Fritzl, who was aware of his sexual disorder, using and abusing his child and mother may have looked like such an easy way out.

My earlier post about Josef and Elisabeth Fritzl

He had told the world that she died in 1959...It is a strange story.
