Jeremy Corbyn, 2020 and astrology

Jeremy Corbyn is the new leader of Labour and he is an old style socialist, grown in the belly of the unions. There are plenty of messages on the internet about his sympathies and opinions. He has strong friends and ditto enemies in his own party, so he is a controversial persion. How nice would it be, for the astrologer, if he had a Sun-Uranus aspect…but he has not. What he does have, is a Uranus semi square Pluto aspect that is likely to have been activated in the past 4 years of Uranus square Pluto (see this link: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/08/resonance-of-uranus-pluto-and-jupiter.html )
It is rebel time! Time for the rebels!

CHART DAY OF BIRTH
Air, no water, Sun Gemini/Moon Taurus

The chart of the day of birth of Jeremy Corbyn is not so extraordinary. What is missing in the chart, are placements in water signs. There are a lot of placements in air signs (Gemini, Virgo, Aquarius). That is an important characteristic. In my article about not aspected planets, and missing placements in elements (http://www.astromarkt.net/astrology_to_study-html/unaspected-planets-and-missing-elements-html/ ) you may read this about having no planets in water signs (Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces):

No water:This calls for looking for emotions and the feeling to ‘belong’. This person is sometimes sentimental, other times without much empathy.

There isn’t much ‘control’ of sentiments. He is ‘all air’, talkative, communicative and reasoning. That is what he does best.

As his hour of birth is a big question mark, I can’t see if the Moon or Mars is the first to rise before the Sun on the day of his birth. The Moon would indicate involvement, the party-member. Mars would be for the activist. And the conjunction rising before the Sun would make him long for action.

Now we have a communicative person with a desire to ‘belong’ to a family or party somehow, anyhow, and with a need for action. The Moon in Taurus explains the Marxism (Taurus focuses on material things), the Gemini Sun makes him communicate about it.

BORN SAME DAY AS...
Now Jeremy Corbyn has an astro-Twin,  Scottish Mrs McGuire, also Labour party member, born on the same day and in the same year. She wanted to be able to speak freely on the subject of disabilities. Unlike Mr. Corbyn, she is an extreme loyalist (!). So what position in the natal chart could show the tendency to vote against the party’s wishes? Uranus (controversy) or Eris (discord) must be important.

CONTROVERSY
As he is a controversial person, elected on a ‘Sun inconjunct Uranus-day’ (a day with a enormous surprise) and because Uranus doesn’t make any aspects with Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars (surprisingly) I suppose that Uranus has a corner position in the chart (either on the horizon or on the meridian). And the party communicator…the journalist, too, are in the chart, but where is the leader in the chart

TIME OF BIRTH?
Warning: what follows is all speculation!

A birth time of 23 hours would place the Sun in the 5th house (for leadership) and bring Uranus on the Descendant, in the 7th house, still in Gemini in the final degree*). Meanwhile, the Sun/Moon midpoint is semi square Saturn, to illustrate ambition and the motivation to be a manager. This also motivates him to be careful with other people's money (Saturn in 8). But OK, his real time of birth is unknown...

On September 12, 2015, the day that he became Labour’s leader:

- transit Jupiter would be trine progressed Midheaven (a key indication for success) with
- the progressed Moon on natal MC,
- Moon-MC quindecile transit Uranus for the emotional excitement because of an unbalancing surprise.

Let me give it a try for the exact (or almost exact) aspects for that day, without time of birth…

- Transit Neptune inconjunct progressed Sun
- Transit Saturn square Saturn and inconjunct Uranus
- Transit Jupiter conjunct progressed Venus

Doesn’t sound like a victory at all… except for the Venus-Jupiter joy (and he married in 2015). It takes a time of birth to see if the Moon, MC and Ascendant mirror yesterday's election.

GENERAL ELECTION 2020
On the day of the next General Election in 2020, May 7… does his chart show a winner?
Jupiter will be quindecile the progressed Sun (strong focus or obsession with success) before May 7, while transit Pholus inconjunct the Sun seems to indicate that he shot his own foot (a turning point in life with a loss involved – maybe just lost life style). That doesn’t offer much insight, does it?

But Transit Jupiter would be square Ascendant, inconjunct natal descendant, however, if he was born at 11 pm. Maybe because he didn’t win, maybe because that is when the progressed Sun conjunct natal Pluto makes him face problems. His life style will change due to politics and stress

Perhaps it helps you to know that while the natal Moon is in bounds (20th degree) his Progressed Moon is Out of Bounds and on top level in 2020, but about to decline and going down in May. His best years are coming, still. But they will be over in/after 2020.

CAMERON 2020
Will David Cameron be his opponent then? Let’s see about David Cameron’s positions on May 7, 2020.
-       Pluto opposition progressed Moon and
-       Pluto semi square progressed Sun,
-       Transit Saturn trine Ascendant and
-       Progressed Moon trine Saturn
-       Transit Saturn inconjunct Midheaven
-       His OOB Progressed Moon went ‘down’ in 2019

Predicting is difficult, especially when it is about the futureJ. But Saturn inconjunct MC is pretty bad in election time. However, times are changing all the time. Maybe in 2020 both mr. Corbyn and mr. Cameron have left the stages for other reasons.

*) Gemini is a double bodied sign and on the 7th house cusp this sign might signal more than 1 marriage. Uranus is a disruptive symbol that doesn't stand for continuity in the house of relationships. He married 3 times, and 2 times with someone not born in the UK.

Supercentanarians' charts, like Besse Berry Cooper

Even though my grandmother used to say 'Old?!!! The devil is old', some people do get real old. People like Besse Berry Cooper, for example. She is a supercentanarian born August 26 1896. Let's see if the positions on her day of birth correspond with those of the very old persons in my study 'Astrology and Age' on Astropost. Well, they do. Just like the average old person she has more positions in Earth and Air signs than in Fire and Water. Of course there is more...Jupiter rises before her Sun (optimism) and with Saturn inconjunct Pluto she is a real 'die hard' without much balance (a bit too old). Sun inconjunct Ceres refers to the importance of genes and food. The square between Jupiter and Uranus might be important because of angularity, but how can we know without hour of birth?:) not...

So here is the chart for her day of birth. The positions are valid for everyone born on that day. They didn't all become as old as Mrs. Besse Berry Cooper. That is because there are more factors than a chart.

Charts have their meaning for the character, but genes, circumstances, wars and other dangers are just as important as character is. Positions in a chart (the complete chart with hour of birth of the chart of the day of birth) should be interpreted with the situation and the genes in mind. If you are interested in the charts of centenarians, first read the article on Astromarkt (link below) and then use the label OLD for more examples .

Videla, Saturn and Uranus

I have written several posts about limitations of freedom as a central issue in the charts and lives of persons with a prominent Saturn-Uranus complex. (Use the label 'Saturn Uranus' to see them all and see the links to older posts below). A new example of this combination of freedom, restrictions and the struggle in between is Jorge Videla (August 2, 1925). Recently he has been sentenced to jail for his part in the disappearances and deaths of thousands of young opponents of his severe regime.

TO BE RESTRICTED
Jorge Rafael Videla is the former leader of the junta in Argentina. In his chart the Sun is square Saturn and sesquisquare Uranus with Uranus opposition the midpoint Sun/Saturn (and Saturn-Uranus in a sesquisquare). The combination of Saturn-Uranus, highlighted by the aspect with the Sun, is the combination of limited freedom. That is correct. He is in jail now.

TO RESTRICT
His junta was guilty of many crimes and restricted the freedom of the people. Not all of the crimes have been solved, yet. This is the chart of the day that Videla was born. The positions of his birthday contain a lot of information about the potentials and possibilities of suppression, like Sun square Saturn (managing to be in charge, preferably on your own). He is not the only dictator with a Sun-Saturn aspect. Chavez has it, too. The natal Sun of Videla is also sesquisquare Uranus. That makes Saturn-Uranus (the theme of the restricted liberty) an issue in his life.
AND:
  • The chart lacks placements in air signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius). Communications at any possible level, and sometimes you can't argue with him (he is not reasonable), that is what it means...
  • The ambition is obvious with Sun in Leo and Moon in Capricorn*) , but he is also controversial (Sun sesquisquare Uranus.
  • Pluto rises before the Sun. That is for a strategic and political orientation. He started with looking forward to having much (Jupiter’s opposition to Pluto) power and influence.
  • Mars inconjunct Uranus for the drive to change and revolt with a lost in the end.
In fact, the chart shows an ambitious strategist with an urge to make immediate changes (with the risk to loose the fight in the end) and with the issue of restrictions as a main theme in his life.

He happened to be a general and he happened to become a president (with the support of many, mirrored by the Moon's aspects with Jupiter and Pluto) so that he was enabled to fully take hard and immediate measures (Sun square Saturn and Mars 75 degrees from Saturn, and inconjunct Uranus). You can see acts (Mars) to restrict freedom (Saturn and Uranus), to be limited in independence and freedom and/or to break free (Saturn-Uranus). It is a dangerous chart when it is the chart of a leading politician.

*) Sun Leo (wants to be in the center of attention), Moon Capricorn (need to be respected), Sun square Saturn (wants to be in charge)

100 year old birthday party

Yesterday I saw a television item about the birthday party of a 100 year old woman who was also reunited with her son after a separation of 20 years, so that she could celebrate her birthday in the presence of all her children. She, or should I say the chart of her day of birth, is such a nice example of how astrology works.

One of her 'recipes' for getting old, she said, was 'keeping interest in the other gender' and 'having fun'. The birth chart has a tight Venus quintile Jupiter.*) The quintile is a creative (and inventive) aspect. Venus-Jupiter is the combination for popularity, parties and pleasure. Now that she is  100 year old the progressed Sun is conjunct Venus, highlighting the nice sides of life and ...bringing peace with her child.

Here is the chart of August 18, 1910. Watch the percentage of placements in the Earth and Air signs. That is in line with one of the findings that I published on Astromarkt ('The astrology of getting very old')  and with the examples that you find when you click the label 'old'.

*) Besides: with the Moon in Aquarius, Venus and Jupiter would not be making Ptolomeic aspects in sign and/or orb 5 degrees and be 'calling' (that is: very prominent and expressing their energies at any possible level).

Chart of John Wooden (99)

The LA Times has 99 things about John Wooden, famous basketball coach, on his 99th birthday, things that you can read here...

From time to time I like to add charts to the list of other examples that I have of indications for getting old. John Wooden has a lot of positions in air signs. That is in favour of getting old (just like earth signs). On his day of birth Uranus was square Sun/Jupiter. He has Sun conjunct Jupiter and square Uranus for being inventive. The Sun-Jupiter-Uranus combination has a good influence on age. For more about aging, see the article on my site Astromarkt...

The Sun/Jupiter combination is square Pluto for successes. Lots of coaches have an aspect between Sun and Pluto. He has a wide trine, with Jupiter as the bridge between Sun and Pluto. They often also have an important Venus, because they need to be diplomats even though they are authorities. Wooden had an orientation on sports (Mars is rising before his Sun to show that). Activity, energy and being driven is prominent in his chart, also because of the lack of placements in fire signs.

His progressive Sun is changing sign, so his life style is or has already been changing (what is to be expected at a certain age) and because of the square between Sun and Saturn in the progressed chart, this might have been hard. It is exciting perhaps to be in the (positive) news today, with transit Sun square natal Uranus...The daily motion of the Sun over your natal position is reflecting the 'style' of the day. And Uranus is the planet of the news and excitement!

Henry Allingham died age 113 year old

Mr. Henry Allingham was the last man who was alive and fought in the First World War (1914-1918). He died today.

It is amazing to see that there is a Yod in his natal chart that is connecting Mars, Saturn and Pluto. The apex (the planet that the yod seems to 'point at') is Saturn (the planet of old age). Mars, Saturn and Pluto together are the components of the combination of unnatural death (either your own or that of others) as a (rather unbalanced) issue in your life. I can imagine that Mr. Allingham was being confronted with his early past throughout his life and even more when he became 'the last man standing'. Also his father died when he was 1 year old. His mother died when he was 18. Death was important in his life, but...it was not his own. He survived them all.

Saturn does not make major aspects. That makes Saturn a prominent part of the chart, too. The inconjunction of Saturn with Pluto is reflecting the 'excessive die hard' and maybe that is enough to explain why he became so old. Another indication is Aries Point opposition Jupiter/Uranus (so that we know him because of his special prosperity). The Sun is septile Jupiter and Jupiter is 105 degrees apart from the 'calling' Uranus. The prominence of Uranus makes life exciting enough to continue it. As far as I know, he was more an engineer than a fighter in the army (see the 'calling' Uranus without major aspects, also symbol of cars - he was an employee of Ford in the interbellum). He was able to support himself until 2006, when he was about 110 years old!

Air signs like Gemini (the sign of ‘forever young’) contribute to longevity, as you may read in the article about getting old on my site Astromarkt. He credited 'cigarettes, whisky and wild, wild women — and a good sense of humour" for his longevity. The humor is obvious (50% in air signs); Sun conjunct Neptune symbolizes the alcohol and cigarettes.

???
But...All of those indications were shared by the thousands of others who were also born on June 6, 1896 and who died earlier. I can hardly refer to genes as important part of the picture, as his parents both died at an early age. Still, with Ceres exactly opposition Jupiter/Uranus I like to think that he had lucky genetic material. He did not live without enjoying pleasures and he was in the army in times of war and still he survived all that: he must have had a guardian angle on his shoulder.
That makes me curious about his hour of birth and about the positions in his natal chart. It would be nice if Jupiter and Uranus were on the angles of that chart. If he was born at 22:15 hours he would have had ASC/MC square Jupiter/Uranus. That would mark his time and place of birth as a special fortunate one. Unfortunately, his hour of birth is unknown, but we do know the exact time of death. The chart that you see below is the chart of that moment, with the natal positions of Henry Allingham on the outside.

How long will your relationship last?

This post is about the effect of the elements and the length of a relationship. The composition of elements in your natal chart is one of the indications of how long you and a partner will be together. Of course there are other indications, too*). But the elements certainly have a big role to play.

Earth signs are the signs of realism and the wish to be respected. They are contributing to the length of relationships. Air signs are the signs of communications (and flirtations:). The fire signs are full of passion and the water signs are to be seduced (even though they like to belong to someone). The elements don't indicate if you will be faithful and true!:)

Capital signs take the initiative. The fixed signs hold on to what they have got. And the movable signs? They are not very stable.

Here are some famous examples:

Mel Gibson has 60% in fixed signs and that might be the reason why his marriage lasted more than 20 years.

Rihanna (20 February 1988) has Moon, Venus and Mars in fire signs, the signs of passion.
Chris Brown (5 May 1989) doesn't have any position in fire signs. He has Sun, Moon and Venus in Taurus, 60% in earth signs all together.
See my blog Art&Astrology for more about their relationship.

Dr. Robert Schuller (the television minister) has Moon, Venus and Mars in earth signs and that contributes to the length of his marriage.

Dutch Prince Bernhard (two daughters with two mistresses) had Venus and Mars in passionate fire signs. He did not divorce. He was a Cancer with 40% in watersigns.

His wife, Queen Juliana, had Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars in fixed signs. She knew about her husband's affairs and didn't divorce him after all.

John Kerry has Sun in Sagittarius, Moon and Mars in Gemini and Venus in Scorpio square Pluto. That is 3 times a flexible sign. He divorced and remarried a rich woman.

J.W. Jones, had Moon Venus and Mars in fire signs. Perhaps that explains the need for a lot of women.

John F. Kennedy had Sun and Venus in Gemini, Moon in Virgo (three times flexible signs) and he had Mars in Taurus. One woman was not enough for him.

Camille Parker Bowles waited all her life for the moment of her marriage (6 April 2005). She was the mistress of Prince Charles when they both were married. She has 50% in water signs.

Elisabeth Taylor has 50% in watersigns. She also has Gemini on the cusp of the 7th house of marriage. Gemini is an air sign and a double bodied sign. But that is another story. Read about that in the earlier post on this blog about multiple marriages and double bodied signs.

*) Strong indications for divorce are in the aspects between the 1st and 7th house and:
for women, afflictions between Sun-Mars, Sun-Uranus, Venus-Uranus or Mars-Saturn
for men, afflictions between Moon-Saturn, Moon-Neptune, Venus-Neptune or Mars-Uranus
When there are more 3 or more of these indications it is hard to get or stay married.

A 115 year old

Gertrude Baines was born April 6, 1894 in Shellman, Georgia (USA) and she is still alive. Yesterday she celebrated her 115th birthday.

Just like many very old persons, she has a lot of positions in the socialising air signs (50%) and in the flexible movable signs (50%). Unless she is born after 23 hours, she has no positions in earth signs. There are no inconjunctions in her chart (not within 2 degrees of orb). That is nice, because it means that there were no illnesses at birth.

Of course, she is the only living person born on April 6, 1894. Genes and circumstances must have contributed to the length of her life. And there must have been crucial positions in her chart that strongly influenced her health. That makes me think of Ceres, the symbol of roots and genes. Ceres is making the tightest aspecgt in this chart (square Neptune). Perhaps it is Ceres that has a prominent position on the horizon or the meridian.

Chart of Yvan Colonna, convicted for killing Claude Erignac

Yesterday Yvan Colonna was sentenced to life imprisonment, in appeal, for the murder of the Corsican prefect Claude Erignac. That happened on February 6, 1998, at 21:15 (some sites also mention 9:05 p.m.)
Yvan Colonna, a nationalist and the son of a former recipient of the Légion d'Honneur (a socialist deputy)l, was born 7 April 1960 in Ajaccio. He became a militant nationalist in 1981. He says that he is innocent. Fact is that he was militant and joined in actions. Another fact is, that his life is strongly connected to the murder case and to the wish of separatist in Corsica is clearly shown in the chart. Astrology doesn't judge. Many judges and lawyers have the same kind of aspects as their suspects have. Astrology only shows that there is an important theme to deal with. In this case: deadly danger and limited freedom or indepence.

The themes of unnatural death and restricted freedom (and resistance against it) are very importent in his chart. They are shown by tight aspects. Mars, Saturn and Pluto reflect the danger of death. Saturn and Uranus together show the issue of the limited indepence and the end of freedom (linked also to communications: freedom of speech).

Venus is an important planet in this chart. Venus doesn't make Ptolemaic aspects in sign so that Venus is highlighted. Venus is half semi square Mars and that means: passion. Venus is strongly connected to the theme of unnatural death.

A. Mars-Saturn-Pluto (theme of forced death)
1. Venus is half semi square Mars and that means: passion. Venus is semi square Mars/Saturn and sesquisquare Saturn/Pluto. Venus is also sesquisemisquare (67.5 degrees) from Mars/Pluto.
2. Mars opposition Pluto for the isssue of the use or abuse of violence
3. Mars semi square Saturn for hard actions
4. Saturn quindecile Pluto for a strong focus on the disadvantages of politics
5. Saturn sesquisquare Mars/Pluto for unnatural death as an issue
6. Venus semi square Mars/Saturn and sesquisquare Saturn/Pluto and 67.5 degrees from Mars/Pluto: for relationships, sympathies and pleasures related to deathly danger
7. Sun is sesquisquare Pluto for the frustrated fanatic (the will to win)
8. Sun is semi square Mars (for being an activist or for fysical activity; he used to be a teacher of physical education and sports.*)

B. Saturn-Uranus (theme of restricted freedom)
1. Sun square Saturn for highlighted mistakes
2. Saturn inconjunt Uranus: there is no balance in the theme of restricted freedom
3. Sun is trine Uranus: the will to be free
4. Saturn sesquisquare Mercury/Uranus: limited freedom of communications
5. Uranus opposition Mercury/Saturn (a midpoint yod pointing at Uranus)

BTW There are no placements in air signs ('communications at any possible level, but sometimes you just cannot reason with him').

DATA
1. Militant in 1981: progressed Sun opposition Neptune (question of ideals and ideology; isolation) and progressed Mercury square progressed Saturn (separation).

2. Murder 6 February 1998 at 9:05 pm (shortly later later he fled)
. His Jupiter is 15 degrees from transit Venus.
. Transit Mars is semi square his natal Pallas
. Transit Jupiter is 15 degrees from his Ceres.
. Transit Saturn is sextile his Ceres
. Transit Mars 051°42'40 (septile) his natal Saturn
. Transit Venus is 67.5 his Saturn/Pluto, 22.5 his Mars/Saturn and 135 his Mars/Pluto
. Transit Venus is semi square Colonna's Mars
. Transit Venus is semi square Collona's Pluto
. Transit Venus is conjunct his Saturn.
In other words: transit Venus was connected to the Mars-Saturn-Pluto combination in Colonna's chart! And to his natal important Venus.

CLAUDE ÉRIGNAC was the prefect who was murdered. He was born in Mende, France, on October 15,1937 (age 60 at the moment of the murder). Uranus of Colonna's chart is biquintile the Mars of Erignac's Uranus. Their Saturns are 72 degrees apart. Their charts are creatively linked by the theme of restricted freedom and/or independece.

When he was shot, the Descendant of the moment was conjunct the natal Saturn of Erignac. His progressed Pluto was inconjunct the Midheaven of the moment. Saturn-Pluto connections tell us about the bad side of politics. Untimely death could be the translation of the joined force of Saturn-Pluto on that moment. It happened to be a moment that triggered Saturn and Pluto in his natal chart.

The progressed Venus of Colonna was trine the natal Sun of Erignac. Venus is an important planet in the chart of Yvan Colonna. Venus is related to Mars-Saturn-Pluto (the danger of death). The progressed Mars of Erignac was square the progressed Sun of Colonna. This illustrates a sort of a political fight or competition in the year of the murder.

3. Arrest 4 June 2003
In 2003 his progressed Sun changed sign and his lifestyle changed. He was arrested. Progressions: Mercury square Mars and Pluto and inconjunct Jupiter; Mars inconjunct progressed Neptune. Transit Mars was conjunct progressed Mars (for being a target).

4. Final conviction yesterday
Transit Saturn inconjunct natal Sun for a depression; transit Uranus opp. Node for upheavel in the family or community and Pluto conjunct Jupiter and trine Pluto (a political success?).

*) The strong energy of Mars-Pluto can be used in a positive way, in sports and in political (more verbal) competition.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EXPLANATION of PROGRESSIONS
Simplefied explanation of progressions:
Progressions are based upon the daily movement of the earth. In one day you 'see' the universe in a 360d panoramic view. In one year the earth moves around the Sun for the same sort of panoramic view:). So what you see in one day reflects what you will see in a year time. One day = one year. The Sun moves about 1 degree in a day.

Calculation: for every year you add about one degree to the natal position (or see the ephemeris for the true positions). At a certain moment the progessed Sun moves to the next time. The years before and after are often periods of transformation to another lifestyle. (Any transit or progressions at that time strongly influence the nature of the lifestyle to be).

On the left you see links to sites that offer a free calculated chart, also for progressions and transits.

For more charts related to crime, imprisonment or politics, click the labels below this post. For more information about the aspect Mars opposition Pluto (the strong drive, the use or abuse of influence, force, power or...having to defend yourself) see my site Astromarkt.

Chart and progressions Enzo Ferrari

Today I saw a (romantic) documentary about the life of Enzo Ferrari, born 18 February 1898 (official date 20 February, but that was because it took his father 2 days to announce his birth) It was at 3 a.m. in beautiful Modena, Italy, the place were the Ferrari factory still is. He built the most beautiful car in the world. His chart is showing the successes and the bad moments in his life…

YOUTH
His youth wasn’t a happy one. His parents preferred his elderly brother. This is very typical of Saturn on the Ascendant. It is as if from the very start you had a disadvantage or a handicap. But there is another side of it and that is that he was a very serious and ambitious person and rather reserved himself. The picture in the chart shows him with dark glasses on and they seem to have been on very often. He did not like to show his feelings. There are several indications for hiding feelings: Moon in Capricorn (calling!), Saturn on the Ascendant and Neptune opposition Ascendant. In the documentary they make him say that the fact that he did not show emotions did not mean that he did not have them. But notice the lack of placements in water signs and the cool Moon and you will see that it was at least difficult to deal with emotions…

THE DREAM STARTS
In the documentary he is 10 years old when he sees the first car in his life and starts dreaming. His father got ill and died not very long afterwards. And see how astrology matches with history! At age 10 he had progressed Sun inconjunct Jupiter and progressed Midheaven was trine Neptune. This symbolizes the disproportional self confidence that he had and the dream (Neptune) that easily (trine) influenced his career (Midheaven). The progressed inconjunction also shows us that he won a race by wooden car without engineJ, beating his elderly brother. He won, but (inconjunct Jupiter in the 3rd house...). The 'but' was that this moment intensified the bad relationship that he had with his brother. He also had progressed Moon trine Jupiter in those days and that is the best progressed aspect a person can get. This was the moment that he started dreaming about being a racer in the future.

CONFIDENCE
He always strongly believed that he would be rich and famous one day. Notice that Jupiter (ruler 1) is on the Midheaven trine Pluto on the descendant: Jupiter and Pluto are prominent in this chart! That reflects a lot of confidence and success as a result of that and all this in a prominent way! He was born to be a success. Mercury is opposition Jupiter/Pluto and conjunct Sun/Moon to express that he was great at convincing others (to invest in his dream). Uranus is also related to Sun/Moon and to Ascendant/MC: he was all in all a technician, innovative, an engineer.

DEATH AND SATURN AND PLUTO
Enzo Ferrari did not have placements in water signs and there is a calling Moon (a moon without major aspects) in Capricorn. He had 70% of his placements in air signs. This combination makes him a thinker and a communicator with sentiments at any possible level, but always in control (in Capricorn). In the documentary that lack of showing emotions is explained in the moment of the death of his father, who tells him not to cry. I almost forgot to mention: progressed Sun square Saturn and later square Pluto for the period after the death of his father. This Saturn and Pluto square comes back in times of death. In the First World War (1914-1918) his brother died and he broke his own arm to escape the front lines. Notice that the progressed Mercury is square Saturn and Pluto in 1917. And when his son Dino died in 1956 he had progressed Moon square Saturn and Pluto. Dino was born 29 January 1932 (progressed Sun trine Uranus), when he already had started the long lasting relationship with Lina.
Saturn is opposition Pluto in his chart and both are angular. That is why progressive aspects with Saturn and Pluto mark important painful goodbye’s in his life. Saturn-Pluto conflicts symbolize hard confrontations, intense ambition and the price you pay for that...

FACTS
In 1948 he founded the Formula 1 team of Ferrari (Scuderia Ferrari). That was when his progressed Midheaven changed sign. In 1929 (with progressed Midheaven inconjunct Pluto) he had already founded Scuderia Ferrari but then he worked with Alfa Romeo. Only after the 2nd World War he was allowed to use the name Scuderia Ferrari for his own team.

Enzo Ferrari was more often in the company of his friends and the racing team than with his wife Laura. Later he had a mistress (Lina). The son born out of the relationship with Lina on 22 May 1944 is now 15% owner of Ferrari. His name is Piero Ferrari.

PROMINENCE
Back to Enzo: he had an oriental Mars, Jupiter on the Midheaven, Uranus in aspect with Sun/Moon and ASC/MC, Mercury on Sun/Moon, Neptune and Pluto were on either side of the horizon and just as crucial was Saturn (conjunct Ascendant). The Moon was calling! There is almost no object in this chart that does not have a special place. Only the Sun and Venus and they are 'rushing into Pisces' but still in Aquarius as if reflecting the technical visionary. With so many prominent placements he was bound to be special. With Jupiter and Pluto angular he had enough confidence, too. And there were more then 10 midpoint combinations in the 22.5 degree range to support the statement of success in his chart, for example with Mars square Jupiter/Uranus. That is an excellent combination for an inventor.

DISCRETION: NEPTUNE+PLUTO
I like to mention Neptune in the 7th house and the Neptune/Pluto combination with the Descendant, pointing at the secret relationship with Lina. In those days in Italy divorce was not easy and in the first half of the last century living with a married man was scandalous. The Moon in Capricorn kept him with his wife and Venus in Aquarius and square Uranus (out of sign) provided the adventurous 'free' love with Lina.

HIS DEATH
When he died transit Jupiter was exactly opposition his Uranus (read about this aspect and death) and as Uranus was related to Sun/Moon and ASC/MC, Jupiter was also in aspect with the cross of the chart and the cross point of the lights.

Astrology chart Johanna Sigurdardottir

Johanna Sigurdardottir will be the first lesbian Prime Minister in the world and she will be that in Iceland. She was born October 4, 1942 and is 66 years old today.

Transit Pluto is now inconjunct her progressed Uranus, reflecting stress and tension. Iceland is in trouble since the monetary crisis and the government has fallen. Sigurdardottir has Venus and Neptune rising before the Sun and opposition Aries Point (marking the way people see you). Isn't it interesting that she is first of all seen in the light of her romantic preferences (Venus-Neptune)? She is an idealist (Neptune oriental) and she has the attitude of a leader (Moon in Leo). Sun conjunct Mars tells us that she is an assertive, energetic promoter.
With Sun trine Saturn and sextile Pluto (and Sun square Saturn/Pluto) she will likely be the kind of 'die hard' who will be able to survive this political crisis.

BTW: notice her looks: perhaps that is also part of Venus - for representations, style and beauty - opposition Aries Point.

Without hour of birth this is all, except for this: 50% of the positions on her day of birth in air...that is reflecting communications at any level. Maybe she uses a lot of words (Mercury square Jupiter)and when she does you will know why:)...See the post about Mercury's aspects. Of course, Mercury-Jupiter also reflects successful communications.

Astrology chart Nancy Pelosi (no HOB)

Nancy Pelosi will continue her job as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. She doesn't have placements in air signs in her natal chart and that means that she can and will communicate at any possible level (and sometimes will be unreasonable:).

Nancy Pelosi has a Scorpio Moon. Many women with power have a Scorpio Moon. It gives a woman the courage and strong will to pursuit and a desire to have influence. Nancy Pelosi has that influence now!

In the House she also is in the centre of attention often and that is what a person with a 'calling' Sun wants to be: leading or performing.
Jupiter is 'calling', too. It is an indication for an international or for someone who is very convincing.

The combination of Sun, Moon and Jupiter promisses fortune in family life (she has 5 children and 7 grandchildren and has a long lasting marriage with Paul Pelosi, born April 14 1950 with his Venus exactly conjunct her Venus and Uranus.

Saturn is exactly square Pluto in her chart. It is the combination for the 'die hard' who survives hard (political) confrontations. See the article on Astromarkt...
Mercury is square Saturn/Pluto and that is the same combination that I found in the charts of USA presidents. It means that she has a strategic and political mind.

Nancy Pelosi seems to be made for the job. With this chart, the right family background and genes, and a country that allows women in the top, even when they are older than 65...it just took one or two crucial placements to excell. Her time of birth is unknown, so we don't know what the degree of her Moon, ASC or MC is or what crucial planets are angular. But it is certain that the strong Moon in Scorpio was rising before the Sun.

Oldest woman died (about age and astrology)

On September 1893 there were no planets or lights in fire signs and plenty in movable signs. María de Jesus, born in Corujo, Barcelas (Portugal) died today, at age 115. She had 4 placements in earth signs and 5 planets in air and that corresponds with the study I did about dying at young or old age. I found that placements in earth and air signs are more to be found in the charts of people who became very old and that in the charts of people who died at young age (due to accidents or illnesses) there were more placements in water and fire signs.
Apart from the combination of earth and air signs in her chart I see good luck in the 'calling' Venus and Jupiter. Venus and Jupiter are the planets of joy and fun.

In short: earth, air, Venus, Jupiter and movable signs attributed to the length of her life.

María de Jesus died with progressed Sun inconjunct Neptune. It is been told that she never had coffee or alcohol in het life and that she became a widdow at age 57. Transit Pluto is now inconjunct her prominent Jupiter. Two inconjunctions at the time tell us that she had to let go. And perhaps her natal chart (with a known ascendant, midheaven and position of the Moon) would show more.

GERTRUDE BAINES
Now Gertrude Baines is the oldest woman alive. She was born April 6, 1894 in Shellman and has no placements in earth signs, but ...50% in air and 50% in movable signs! She has a 'calling' Sun and Mercury with Sun semi square Venus and Jupiter. Venus and Jupiter are the planets that make life fun. And perhaps these planets reflects a pleasure in life that makes you stay on earth as long as you can.

ASTROLOGY CHART MILAN KUNDERA
and the unbearable accusation

Milan Kundera, the famous writer of 'The unbearable lightness of being', has been accused today of denouncing a fellow student to the communist secret police in 1950. The student is said to have been a western agent. Later, in the 80’s, Kundera critisized the communist government. His books were not allowed by the censor. The issue of limitations in freedom of speech is prominent in his chart. And he had a strong vocation for writing and communicating*). Today there is a lot of stress coming from Pluto, the planet of politics, opposition his progressed Sun...

PLUTO TRANSIT
Kundera was born April 1, 1929 in Brnö. I don't know at what hour. All I know is that today transit Pluto is opposition his progressed Sun. This means that he may be forced to face a challenge. Astrology-X-Files mentions 'you may have to defend yourself'. Power struggles and fundamental changes are mentioned all over the internet. I think that a transit of Pluto intensifies living dangerously: Pluto means stress.
Those stressful conditions might activate the natal aspect of Sun square Pluto.

WRITER: MERCURY AND AIR CALLING!
Where is the writer in the positions of April 1, 1929?
Answer: there are no placements in air signs! Mercury does not make aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees, so Mercury is 'calling'! Look at the article on my site Astromarkt (see link below). No aspects with Mercury or no placements in air signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius) means a focus on contacts and seeking ways to communicate (= speaking and writing). And Milan Kundera has both (no aspects with Mercury and no placements in air).
Of course there are more clues and if we knew his hour of birth, we might find others.

URANUS AND SATURN
Uranus rises before the Sun on April 1, 1929. Kundera is a reformer, someone special, a rebel perhaps. I have seen Uranus oriental in the charts of those who became very old, so that they had more 'orientation on a future' than others might have.
Saturn is square Aries Point on April 1, 1929 and strong in Capricorn.
Saturn might be conjunct the Moon, but that is not certain.
We see the combination of limited freedom. With Mercury, Saturn and Uranus prominent, the combination of limitations in the freedom of communicating is highlighted.
In 1950 that combination was activated by transit.

1950
And what made him denounce a co-student (who was arrested and spent 14 years of his life in prison)? In 1950 his Sun had changed sign (I think because of the life as a student in another town). Progressed Venus was trine Neptune for unlimited sympathies and romantic love. Who knows? And transit Uranus was opposition his prominent Saturn in that year. Here we get a key! It means that there was an issue of limited freedom**) in that year that became important. And this issue was already highlighted in the natal chart!

2008
Pluto is the planet of diving deep. In case of illnesses Pluto is the surgeon who cuts away what is no longer needed or what is dangerous for your health. But sometimes Pluto means trouble, a problem to be solved, politics making life difficult and a lot of stress. Kundera's progressed Sun (29th of Gemini) will change sign again. He is in a period of transformation. Pluto adds problems and challenges. Within 2 years his progressed Sun will be opposition Saturn and the quality of life might be less than it is now.

MASTERPIECE
The movie based on the book is a masterpiece and so it the book. He wrote it in 1982 and it was published in 1984 with progressed Moon trine Jupiter (the best progressed aspect one can get), right after Moon trine Venus.

PS in 1975 he fled to the West with progressed Moon trine Jupiter and transit Jupiter conjunct the natal Sun.

*)Passing through messages is part of the job of Mercury (prominent in Kundera's chart). Read how important Mercury is f.ex. in the chart of Archbishop Wielgus, the man who worked as a spy for the communist...Just like Kundera he had Mercury calling and a prominent Saturn. Maybe that Saturn indicates fear...

**)Tady maji nezvratny dukaz, ze to Kundera udelal, that is what I read on the internet. As an astrologer, however, I am not able to make judgements. Sometimes even criminals, detectives and judges seem to share the same kind of aspects (ast they share the same issue in life: crime). I only show you the astrological picture!

More insight might be offered by this interesting site with information about the subject:
http://english.respekt.cz/Milan-Kunderas-denunciation-2742.html

PS October 14: Milan Kundera denies the story. The investigator, Adam Hradilek, claims to have a police report of the denounciation dated March 14, 1950, with name and date of birth of Kundera. Read the story in the Times.

ASTROLOGY CHART OF JOSEPHINE BAKER
a life for a musical...

On my Dutch site Astrokrant I posted about the life of Josephine Baker (born June 3, 1906 at about 11 a.m. in Saint Louis). That was because they announced another musical about her. I like to mention some of my findings here.

VOICE
Her voice was very special and was the core business of her career. It was also the core business of her chart.

Her Astrological I.D. shows Mercury rising before the Sun (oriental) AND calling (not making aspect in sign and orb 5 degrees), strong in Gemini. Mercury is the symbol of the voice, communicating, messages…And Mercury is on top of her chart!

Of course there is more… 60% of her placements in air signs, 50% in Gemini (that is also a good sign for dancing feet), and 50% in the 10th house of public and career. The planets in the 10th house happen to be a perfect group to symbolize success (Sun, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Pluto).

Sun in Gemini, Moon in Libra and Ascendant Virgo make us think of Mercury and Venus (the rulers of those signs). The combination of Mercury and Venus is the combination of arts and communications, beauty and the voice…

VOCATIONAL ROUTING
Venus disposes of the MC and is tightly conjunct Neptune. Venus is in a wider opposition with Uranus. There is a mutual reception of Venus and Moon (means: they are in each others’ sign). This all is very symbolic for sense of arts and singing. In a study about singers on my site Astromarkt (in Dutch) you can see how many singers have Venus related to Uranus and/or Neptune. If you like to translate it: here is the link.

The combination of all this above makes it hard to NOT see the singer in this chart. Notice that Uranus is in a midpoint Yod (opposition) Venus/Neptune; again the rocking combination for art with rhythm.

MARRIAGES
Josephine Baker was a talented and rich woman who could afford to marry several times and she did. She ended alone. With Venus - Uranus there is always another love and the impulse to get married with the wrong one. Venus-Neptune is romantic and sensitive…The chance for disappointments is evident, also because Neptune disposes of the seventh house of marriage in her chart. Saturn, ruling the 5th house is in the 7th. That makes marriage a case of serious business. And with Saturn square Sun her broken relationships show up as the other side of the blinking gold.

LIFE
Josephine had many signs of self confidence, progress and growth in her chart. But as a kid she was very poor and it is still not clear if her official father is her natural father. She left school at age 12, with Sun conjunct Mars in the sign of dancing… She must have had a lot of ambition to get as far as she came. In 1925, age 26, she worked in Paris and danced half naked, in a banana skirt. It was in the year that her progressed Sun changed sign that her life style changed completely. From that moment on she got more and more famous.

BTW it is nice to see that in the solar return chart for 1925 in Saint Louis Uranus is on the Ascendant, while in the same chart for Paris Jupiter is on the Descendant.

VOID OF COURSE MOON
I know that it is not done in Astrology land to think of a Void of course moon when analyzing a natal chart. The Void of Course moon belongs to horary chart. It means that the Moon will not make an aspect in sign any more. I happen to have found many VOC-Moons in the charts of childless women. In Josephine Baker’s chart the Moon is also: 'void of course'. The last aspect is the trine with Mars and that was before she was born. A VOC-Moon and a badly afflicted Moon make it hard to have the role of mother and caretaker. In modern times, this does not have to mean being childless involuntarily. But in 1940 it was…In the year that her Ascendant and MC changed sign in progression, Josephine gave birth to a lifeless child. Later she adopted 12 children of different ethnical background. Notice Neptune in the 11th house and Uranus in the 5th for the possibility of adopting children and surgery related to children.

END
She died in coma on April 12, 1975, with Uranus square MC, Venus (progressed ruler 8) inconjunct (!) Ascendant and T Neptune inconjunct progressed Neptune, ruler 8. The MC had recently changed sign. The planets that form the tightest aspect in her chart (Venus and Neptune) are present on her final day. She also had transit Neptune opposition natal Sun and transit Saturn semi square natal MC, Pluto (ruler IC) exactly square Uranus and Venus on the Midheaven for resting in peace.
Had this not been enough, there was also the solar return chart for her last birthday with Mercury (her top planet) and Saturn close together on the descendant, like a good bye, with Pluto on top of the chart. And there was more to see, if you have a good look. But all in all: it meant the end of the life of Josephine Baker. And now there is another musical about her life coming up!
