Erika Leonard or E.L. James' best seller writer chart

Just like the charts of movie stars often reflect their main characters, the chart of an author may have aspects in line with his or her main characters or subjects. I found the day of birth of E.L.James (Erika Leonard). Her 'Fifty shades of Grey' is a Best Seller with capital B. It is an erotic trilogy.

Now look at that chart of March 7, 1963. There is a potential for a writer of erotic drama.

WRITER
Mercury is 'calling' (no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees) which means: communications (writing, singing, speaker) at any possible level. It is like in the chart of the author of Harry Potter, who also writes with her name in initials: J.K. Rowling.
FANTASY
- Sun trine Neptune: good for fantasy (and hiding behind a pseudo). This aspect is sort of repeated by the placement of the Sun in Neptune-ruled Pisces, with Moon in Sun-ruled Leo.
PASSION
- Venus opposition Mars (passion)
SWEET TENSION
- Venus inconjunct Uranus (desiring tension and surprise in love)
PROFIT
- Venus biquintile Pluto (creative way to earn money and a creative way to deal with intense desires)
SUCCESS
- Jupiter/Pluto midpoint is square natal Sun and that is one of the signs of success. It takes more, but strong self confidence is a good start!

It takes more (like an hour of birth) to complete the picture and find the aspects with Midheaven and Moon. Not every born on the 7th of March 1963 wrote such books. Here are three names of those born on March 7, 1963, too:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_7
They don't mention E.L. James on this page, yet, but here is the source:

Mercury calling Marian Keyes

As always when I spend the spare time during my holidays reading, I consumed 1 book/day and needed to buy more. The 'remedy ' is to buy books in foreign languages, because it takes more time to finish them. In the French town Crest (medieval 51 mneter tower) I was looking for one and myastrologer's eye noticed an appropiate title: The brightest star i th sky by Marian Keyes with lots of pages to turn I very much enjoyed the story. I spent only 12 euro for a week fillled with hours of pleasure, just because of that book. Boy, can she tell a lobg story and keep you interested! I read in the hot sun, in the shadow, when the moon was rising and by the light of a candel. Of course I wanted to know where the author was in her chart, but I couldn't find more than her day of birth. Sometimes the positions on the day of birth are already a big part of the key to what you know of a person. Her Virgo Sun and Gemini Moon are both ruled by Mercury, the writer's planet. And as to be expected: her Mercury is prominent. There are no major aspects with Mercury. That means: Mercury calling! And translated from 'astrological' to English: communications at any possible level. The important Mercury is one of the ingredients of the recipe for a writer. Of course, you need more of those in you chart (with hour of birth) and ... you need to have at least pen and paper, to be educated, to be among those who like your style, to find an editor and to have an audience. Unless you like to write for yourself... Did you read the post about best selling authors, yet? My examples shared Mercury and aspects between the Moon, Jupiter and Pholus, what could also be the case in the chart of Marian Keyes, if she is born after 3 am and before 9 pm. Here is the link: http://astropost.blogspot.com/2011/06/best-seller-writers-charts.html

PS sending posts from an Iphone is not easy:) I resent this post to give the link and alter moticed into noticed...Maybe there are more faults to find, but remember: it is Mercury retrograding and while I write this the Moon is inconjunct Mercury, rather an inappropiate time to send a message anyway:).

Best seller writers' charts

How to be a best seller writer like for example J.K. Rowling, now in the news with Pottermore? It takes more than the chart (the right time and place and editor, for example), but what chart is the best? You are to late to change your time and place of birth but you are still in time to see if at least your chart has the same qualities as the three million selling authors Agatha Christie, Barbara Cartland and J.K. Rowling. Today it is Mercury trine Neptune and that is good for story telling (mixing facts and fantasy or communicating fiction). Those who were born today won't have problems with inventing tales. Here is a story about 3 writers and what their charts tell us.

REQUIRED...
Lots of people want to be a famous writer and trillions of concepts and scripts are never to be published or sold. Apparently it takes more than the ability to write to become a million selling writer like JK Rowling! Unlike singers you need not to be beautiful. But you need fantasy, sense of 'what people want to read', the right publisher (who takes time to read your book), a great idea, originality, education (...) and writing skills and if you have all that: LUCK. That is why you need a good Jupiter (for luck), Mercury (for writing), Venus (for style), Neptune (for fantasy)... You also need to be patient, waiting for the right moment to launch your script. It is rather complicated...The qualities (communicating skills, style and more) can be used in many other professions, too. So Neptune, the planet of fiction, must be very important in the charts of people with such an overwhelming fantasy.

WRITERS' CHARTS
Charts of writers are not alike at all. They are as different as their books and the examples on this blog were not born in the same generation. But maybe there are some things that those famous writers have in common...even if they write about different things. I found this:

- a prominent Mercury (for example 'calling' = no aspects within orb 5 degrees or within sign; for example conjunct Sun/Moon or both)
- pattern of professional artistic talent (aspects between Moon, Venus, Neptune, the signs Taurus, Libra, Cancer and Pisces, with direct or indirect connection to Midheaven
- keys to success (aspect-and midpoint combinations with Jupiter, prominence of Jupiter) and possibly important: Moon with Pholus and Jupiter
Neptune, of course
- ...and a surprise: Moon with Jupiter and Pholus

Of course I have examples.

1. AGATHA CHRISTIE was born on September 15, 1890 in Torquay at 4:30 a.m. At that moment Saturn (ruler 5th house) was rising, Neptune and Pluto were elevated and Mercury didn't make any aspect at all. She wrote (Mercury!!!) about solving mysteries (Neptune/Pluto). But let's stick to the pattern of the million selling writer:

- Mercury is calling (and biquintile Midheaven)
- Full pattern of artistic talent (Neptune conjunct MC, trine Moon in Libra and inconjunct Venus)
- Moon tightly trine Jupiter and opposition Pholus

Neptune is elevated in her chart (conjunct Midheaven).

2. BARBARA CARTLAND
Another million seller of quite a different kind of books (romance) is Barbara Cartland.

- Mercury is also calling in her chart! Sun/Moon is semi square Mercury (motivated to write, at any possible level.
- Neptune is sextile Moon and semi quintile Venus (but I don't see the direct connection with MC....though there is Venus/Neptune(romance) is in hard aspect with AC/MC (the crosspoint of time and place) and Jupiter conjunct Midheaven is in in aspect with Moon, Venus and Neptune)
- Moon 112.5 d Jupiter (=square+ half semi square) and square Pholus

Neptune rises before Barbara Carland’s sun…

3. JK ROWLING
An Astro ID tells us about the most prominent and interesting placements and positions. In the chart of JK Rowling they are for Merucy, Venus, Sun (all three 'calling') and Jupiter (the planet rising before the Sun). You see:

- Mercury calling! Mercury doesn't make any aspect in sign or orb 5 degrees: communications at any possible level (Venus NA (the conjunction with Uranus is >5d): style at any possible level and Sun is 'calling', too...:drawing attention at any possible level)

- There is also Neptune biquintile Jupiter and quintile Venus with Venus 75d Jupiter,  indication for possible success in art or love

- Jupiter rises before the Sun and is semi square Sun, pointing at positivism, the international, being convincing and self confidence.

- Moon square Jupiter and inconjunct Pholus
The time of birth of JKR is unknown, but it would be great if she was born at 10:55 a.m. with Sun/Moon conjunct Mercury, Moon with Jupiter/Uranus and Jupiter/Pluto, A/M with Neptune and the Midheaven in Cancer sextile Venus, sesquisquare Neptune and in minor aspect with the Moon.

Earlier JKR revealed that she had a period of depression and I contributed that to Moon opposition Saturn and conjunct Pluto.(see that blog: http://astropost.blogspot.com/2008/03/jk-rowling-survived-depression.html)

Lately, JK Rowling started a new site with Progressed Sun about to square Jupiter. Whatever she will do, it may be great...In the natal chart there is also a Sun-Jupiter combination, so this progression is resonating the natal aspect and having greater 'effect'. It will increase her confidence.

If she was born at 10:55 am Neptune would be of crucial importance (square AC/MC) and the ‘force’ that motivates her (Sun/Moon/Neptune combination: http://astropost.blogspot.com/2011/05/sunmoonneptune-midpoint-combinations.html)

4. Three examples is not enough for statistics. For some more writers (like Celine, Stephen King, Jorge Luis Borges, Vaclav Havel (playwright):

Sun-Neptune, Bernhard Frank and Mark Gould

The very very old Bernhard Frank has been ' exposed' by Mark Gould, member of a Jewish family that suffered under the Nazi regime. Gould interviewed Frank, pretending to be a Neo-Nazi, and he managed to get vital information about Frank's role in the holocaust. Gould says that Frank signed the first ever order to kill Jews (that it was his idea). In the video I hear Frank say that he signed a confirmation of an order by Himmler, however? It is very unclear and you know what is the symbol of mystery and of the media? It is Neptune! Sun-Neptune in the progressed and natal chart accompany this story. With the progressed Sun in aspect with Neptune it is heard to be seen or to see clearly. This is taken from Astromarkt:
PROGRESSED SUN-NEPTUNE
Your illusions will be in the spotlights and so are your secrets. If you have Sun-Neptune in your natal chart, this moment in time might shed a light over the other side of you, the private life or the secret life (an affair, your nick name).

When the progressed Sun is in a hard aspect with Neptune, you may experience a period of isolation (and inspiration, if you are an artist) or you may ‘get lost’, ‘disappear’ (in the eyes of the public) or experience gossip and slaunder. Most of the time the person involved was mistaken, hiding something vital or debilitated and and easy victim.

The more harmonious aspects of Sun and Neptune make it easy for you to dream on or relax. Don’t expect this to be a fortunate aspect, always. Sometimes this aspect releases you from your identity as an individual and turns you into ‘one of the guys’, like in prison or you may have enough time available for fantasies and dreaming because you no longer have a job. Progressed Sun trine or sextile Neptune only makes it easy to hide away from reality, society or life as it it. When you are an author or an actor, this aspect helps you to empathize with the characters in your book or play. And sometimes with this aspect romance really comes into your life and if you are lucky, it won’t go away again.

A hard progressed aspect tells you that your dreams are not easily to be realized. A soft progressed aspect makes your dreams come true, but you have to be careful what you dream about. Because somewhere in the closet might be a hidden nightmare. That is in particular true when the aspect is an inconjunction. That aspect often refers to health problems. Health problems take you out of society and into isolation and they reveal a weakness.
http://www.astromarkt.net/index.php?id=102

In the period of his 'friendship' with Mark Gould the progressed Sun of Frank was square Neptune and that seems a perfect description of the aspect: being seen in a negative light, a double-life, a masquerade, fraud and mist around you...etc. Gossip and bad press accompany this aspect…With Sun conjunct Neptune in the natal chart, the effect of the progression was stronger than strong...

On Astromarkt you may also read that 50% of the very old persons had a Sun-Neptune-aspect in the natal chart (see links below). There is no hour of birth, so the chart shows only part of the picture. BTW, Jupiter/Uranus is opposition his natal Sun. This 'helicopter view'  combination is found in the charts of astronauts, astrologers, modern popes and winners of the lotery. I also found it with some frequence in the charts of those who become very old.

MORE NATAL CHART
Bernhard Frank's natal chart has Pluto rising before the Sun and 'calling' (without major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees). Pluto is novile Mars (rejoycing to push one's physical resources to their limits and affect others with one's dedication; see http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/201926.html
and I think it is also rejoycing the use of influence, power and force).

When Pluto rises before the Sun there is a strong orientation on strategies (politics, knowing the right kind of people - I learned that one from Noel Tyl). Frank knew 'the right guy': Himmler loved him, he says in one of the interviews.
A very tight aspect in his chart is Sun square Orcus (the symbol of the oath). He also has 2 biquintiles:
- Mercury - Jupiter (creative exaggeration of facts; lots of words- he is an author)
- Uranus -Pluto: the revolutionary aspect combination of Sun-Uranus-Pluto is often involved with arrests and other dramatic changes.
(- Sun half semi square (22.5 d) Pluto)

LATER EVENTS
Frank is well known for the arrest of Goering on April 25, 1945, but the SS (and he) didn't follow the next order of Hitler: to execute him. His progressed Sun was square progressed Ceres in that final year of the Second World War.

When he confirmed the order given by Himmler (to prosecute the Jews) his Progressed Sun was square Pholus. That is a life turning point...(July 28, 1941) with the risk of shooting your own foot. Now progressed Pholus is trine natal Sun and that makes it easy shoot your feet again. It is the sign of another turning point in life.

NOW
Now that I write this transit Quaoar is inconjunct the natal Sun and trine natal Orcus, effecting the Sun-Orcus square in the natal chart, giving an unbalancing new perspective to broaken oaths and promises. Here is the chart:
chart without hour of birth!

The progressions of Lily Allen

This is the drawing of the natal and progressed positions for Lilly Allen, with transits and without hour of birth. The progressions show us how the changing progressed sunsign and the transit of Jupiter and Pholus with the progressed Sun, in the same period of time, turned her into a celebrity.

I read that Lily Allen created a MySpace account in November 2005 (with transit Saturn square natal Sun) to launch her music, after being introduced  to London Records - without results - using her father's connections in 2002*). That was just before her progressed Sun sign was changing. When the progressed sunsing changes, life changes.
One month later, in December 2005 transit Pholus was opposition progressed Sun and transit Jupiter also was opposition progressed Sun. That is a statement for a positive (Jupiter) turning point (Pholus) in life's development (progressed Sun)...shortly after 'changing lifestyle'.  Those three indications together were for a boost in her career.

Isn't it nice that so many famous persons seem to have listened to the ' tides of time'?

Charts offer more than one chance or direction, mostly and they should always be seen in the light of situations, conditions, gender, genes and education, for example. If you want to know more about the positions on May 2, 1985, continue...

Mercury trine Uranus and Progressed Sun square Mars

Mercury-Uranus: learn to count to 10
Whenever I read about controversial discussions, I think of Mercury-Uranus. It is an aspect for provoking discussions and communicating political incorrect opinions or ideas in the wrong company, before having counted to ten. This post is about a Mercury trine Uranus.
A trine is a harmonious aspect and offers chances. The trine shows what you can do (and often you choose the easy way and do what you can do). Astrological aspects don't show right or wrong. They just show possibilities. In this example Mercury trine Uranus made it possible to write a shocking book named ' Deutschland schafft sich ab'. A complete controversy followed...

The author is Thilo Sarrazin, a controversial German politician (SPD, socialist democratic party) born on February 12, 1945 in Gera. His Mercury is trine Uranus with a 2 degree orb. In progression Uranus has now reached natal Mercury and perfected the trine. This year his progressed Uranus is trine his Mercury. Exactly this year he is in the news (Uranus) with his books (Mercury), ideas (Mercury) and opinions (Mercury).
Trines enable events. A trine between Mercury and Uranus enables you to rebel with words and Sarrazin wrote a political incorrect book. Now mrs. Merkel wants him to be fired. This happens with his Progressed Sun square Mars. One of the meanings of Mars is...fire.

Moon opposition Moon

Clara Rojas’  "Testimonio de un secuestro" describes her six years in the hands of FARC, living in sad and sickening circumstances in the jungle of Columbia, after being captured together with her former friend Ingrid Betancourt. The development of the friendship between Clara Rojas and Ingrid Betancourt is a good example of the effect of conflicting moon signs. In the jungle their friendship turned into distance. Why? First of all because circumstances changed for a longer period. And also, because of their moon signs.

Orcus, John Edwards and Andrew Young

Orcus, the symbol of the punishment for broken oaths, is what binds the charts of Andrew Young and John Edwards.  Or, do we see Orcus as another exponent of Plutonic reflections? Their names will be linked by a strategy to cover up the birth of a baby that stood in the way to power.

Andrew Young, assistant of John Edwards, first covered up the affair of John with Rielle Hunter. And later he acted as if he was the father of Rielle Hunter’s baby (born February 27, 2008).

Recently he showed up in Oprah Winfrey’s show with his wife, telling about his book ‘ The politician’.  They are now making a movie...
Andrew Young is a very serious person (Saturn rising before the Sun) and dedicated (Sun square Vesta). Perhaps that explains what he did, before he started publishing about the affair. That Saturn, and of course the quindecile between Sun and Pluto (obsessive fanatism, problemous self esteem, wanting to win at any price). It was important to him that Edwards would be the next president of the USA, as he was part of Edward’s team. They say that the film will reveal important secret details  (see: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i70816729b031dfa876faae66cce8af82)
Now, who is the star now?

Mercury calling...

Twitter is a typical product of Mercury. Mercury is the planet of birds, talking, speaking, words, communications, messages, blogging, transportation and…twitter. Especially when Mercury is ‘calling’ (that is: not making major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees) people want to talk just for the sake of talking, write just for the sake of writing and twitter just for the sake of twitter. A ‘calling’ Mercury makes it difficult to be silent or count to 10 before opening the mouth.
Examples? General McChrystal; Oriana Fallaci; someone I know who keeps you on the phone for hours, talking about nothing special…and I suppose a lot of twittering folks on Twitter.

It is not bad when your Mercury is calling. It is just that you need to send messages and inform the world about your ideas. It is just bad when you twitter or say the things that your bosses (or worse: the authorities) don’t like to hear. This week a reporter joked on Twitter about a singer and he was fired because his job was to report about the singer on a contest. He had progressed Sun inconjunct Pholus to illustrate the lost (of a job) because of shooting his own foot or biting the hand that fed him. But could he have counted to 10? He had Mercury calling! sort of a drive to tell the world what you think, like bloggers do:)

Mercury ‘ calling’ can be very helpful in sales. It is also perfect for a writer. The words won't fail you! Mercury ‘ calling’ is a prominent Mercury and one of the astrological tools for succes in communications. Mercury ' calling' is about communicating, somehow, anyhow. Mercury calling is to be preferred over Mercury-Uranus afflictions (that is when you keep joking or saying the wrong, offending or shocking things in the wrong context and in the wrong place, like Berlusconi does, or when nobody understands your irony).  Nevertheless, Mercury can call you to be the messenger whose head is chopped off. That is when you say what nobody wants to hear, just like with a Mercury-Uranus affliction.

HOW ABOUT YOU?
If your Mercury is ‘ calling’, don’t answer until you counted to 10 and write things down, read it, think it over and decide wether or not to tell the world about it. Just hum or whistle if you have to make noise:). And when you do the talking, say political correct and social things. It will be hard, but when your chart shows hard times it might be better to fight your first impulse and consider more profitable ways to use your talents (writing, singing or selling:)... Sounds easy, but try to repeat this whit your mouth shut!!@$!

Oriana Fallaci (born June 29) and Vesta

This is about the natal chart of Oriana Fallaci, a very controversial – Sun square Uranus - journalist and author (Sagittarius MC and Mercury final dispositor of Midheaven) who died in 2006. See Wiki about her life. The hour of birth was mentioned on Luigi Stocchi’s site here… Scroll down for the drawing of that chart (with transits and progressions for the day that she died). It is said that she was born on a June 29, in 1929. Some sources mention June 24. I think that the chart below might be the correct one. The prominence of Mercury,Jupiter and Pluto is reflecting the famous author. The opposition of Saturn in Sagittarius and Vesta showed that her 'most cherished beliefs ....in opposition to cultural traditions and authorities' (quoting Members.wizzard.net).

VESTA
Instinctively I added Vesta as an additional object in the chart drawing and see: Vesta is opposition Midheaven (on the IC). Vesta is the symbol of the keeper of the domestic fire and of dedication. This dedication goes together with the symbol of 'background and home' (the IC).

The Romans related Vesta to Capricorn.

MERCURY, JUPITER & PLUTO
Mercury, Jupiter  and Pluto are the combination of a ' treasure of words'. This combination is prominent in the chart of Fallaci.
  • MERCURY ‘ calling’
Fallaci decided not to obey and to say no to oppression for the rest of her life. She also decided not to choose her words very carefully in doing so. Just like General McChrystal (see the post here…) she had a ‘ calling’ Mercury (Mercury without major aspects in sign). A 'calling' Mercury is reflecting the issue of communications, at any possible level...(About missing elements and aspects, see Astromarkt:Conspicous by Absence)
  • JUPITER ‘oriental’ (rising before the Sun)
Jupiter, ruler of the MC, is the oriental planet (that is the first outer planet rising before the Sun). Jupiter’s keyword is ‘ international’. She lived in New York and in Tuscany and interviewed VIPs all over the world form Kissinger to Khomeini and Sean Connery, too. Transportation (the axis of Mercury-Jupiter) was important and so was convincing others (also Mercury-Jupiter).
  • PLUTO ‘calling’
When Pluto calls you can’t resist power, influence and politics.
Mercury, Jupiter and Pluto are prominent. The prominence of these three promises an impressive vocabulary and success in the field of communications (using words, books...talking and writing). As Jupiter rules the MC and Mercury is the final dispositor or Midheaven, the career is related to convincing with words. It is more then ‘reporting’ only. And Saturn in Sagittarius also has a role to play...
SATURN
In the article about sun signs and planets on Astromarkt (click to see the article http://www.astromarkt.net/Basics.htm) I wrote this about Saturn in Sagittarius:
"Hypocrite? Maybe, but then Michael Jackson, Madonna and Prince are too. You have a great sense for justice, and religion or conviction might play a heavy role in your life."
Translation:): you have a great sence of justice. Religion and/or conviction might play a big part in your life.
And that is in line with the importance of religion for her position and status in the years after 9-11. She was agnostic, but she spoke with the Pope and with Khomeini and she wrote a lot about Islam, as a professional (Saturn is on Midheaven) but with a sort of a dedication that makes it an issue of greater personal importance.

MORE
There is an opposition between Saturn and Vesta on the Meridian, perhaps showing a (public or professional) polarity.

When WWII started, the progressed Sun of Fallaci was conjunct Pluto (her ‘calling’ planet) and that is a sign for stress and challenges. It is also a sign of vital change (and being impressed, a period with great impact).

Her chart is pretty clear about it: she used a lot of words in her job and her position and the reputation is strongly related to the Sagittarian field of convictions and opinions.

HOW ABOUT YOU AND VESTA?
When Vesta is prominent in your (progressed) chart (f.ex. because of angular or oriental placement, or because Vesta is ‘ calling’ – without major aspects-), the word ‘dedication’ is your keyword. You ‘ go for it’ when you belief in it. Vesta also indicated what not to do in order to ‘ recharge’ and in order to avoid 'getting drained'. In the chart of Oriana Fallaci that is ‘ writing, speaking’ …her job! But the third house is also the house of the lungs (she was a heavy smoker).

When your progressed Sun or Midheaven is in aspect with Vesta, you might get dedicated to a project or commit yourself to something that might drain you, if you are not careful enough.

ALSO BORN June 29, 1929: Pat Crawford Brown (actrice)

Chart, progressions, transits of Anne Frank

Almost everybody knows who Anne Frank was and what her short life was like. Many of us grew up with the diary of Anne Frank.

Here below is her chart. The chart doesn’t inform us about her actual circumstances and about the war and the holocaust. So, we have to read the chart giving the circumstance that she was a Jewish girl in a country occupied by an army sent by people who wanted to eliminate Jews. Hard and difficult transits and progressions are harder for those in difficult circumstances. See for example the post about transit Saturn in times of war that I wrote before. In this post I want to show how the transits and progressions corresponded (and are still corresponding) with her life and legacy.

ARREST
On August 4, 1944 Anne Frank was arrested. There is one ‘harmonious’ or ‘ soft’ transit on that day: Progressed Ascendant trine Uranus, the culminating planet in her chart. It could be interpreted as ‘an easy way to independence and freedom’ and in a way she was ‘ freed’ from the attic. But, there is also P IC inconjunct Quaoar: an unbalancing new reality related to her home…The combination of Uranus and Quaoar with Midheaven suggests sudden new realities.

There was unfortunately a very bad sign: transit Saturn is on her Sun and about to square Midheaven. Saturn is the symbol of endings. A period in her life ended and it started to end her life. Pholus is in the 21st of Capricorn, quindecile Saturn and Sun. Pholus refers to turning points and an aspect of 165 degrees informs us about obsession or intense focus: on endings and separations.

Here is her birth chart with transits and progressions for the day of her arrest.

DEATH
She didn’t die that day. She died in March 1945, of typhus. In those days Pholus was square her progressed Midheaven and transit Neptune was square progressed Sun and sesquisquare natal Sun. Neptune was also close to the IC. She was ill and weak and Neptune rules the 8th equal house, the house of life and death.

We all get such aspects and transits sometimes, but then there is a doctor, antibiotics and we haven’t been starved to death before. That is why the Saturn and Neptune in Anne Franks’ case hit that hard: awfull circumstances. It is the oriental Jupiter that is reflecting the positive and international known girl that she will always remain. Transit Jupiter was inconjunct progressed Midheaven (and trine Pholus) when she died. The inconjunction is always unbalancing and sometimes refers to a lost.

PUBLICATIONS
Through her diary the memory of Anne Frank has been kept alive. Her progressed chart keeps corresponding with events related to her and to her diary. On the day that her diary was first mentioned in a newspaper (April 3, 1946) her progressed Sun was exactly square Midheaven and transit Jupiter was about to be in opposition with progressed Midheaven (that when a publisher was found). With P Sun trine Saturn and Uranus trine P MC in July 1999 she became one of the 100 most important persons. And when a group of persons tried to save the tree before her house, transit Jupiter was opposition her natal Sun with transit Saturn inconjunct natal Midheaven. Even today Anne Frank is an important icon. CNN writes about ‘ her’ tree today (see the picture of it above). (Link to CNN about the tree and Anne Frank

L.Ron Hubbard's chart (again)

LAFAYETTE RON HUBBARD, founder of Scientology, was born 13 March 1911, 2:01, Tilden, Nebraska USA. I had a look at his chart before (related to the chart of Tom Cruise, one of his followers), but it is almost Easter and time for fresh new looks, isn't it? Also, Scientology is news again (and Uranus is square his progressed Sun), and I like to see where Pholus is in charts.
Did you know that Jupiter is conjunct Pholus in his chart and that this is the tightest applying aspect? It is the reflection of a twist in conviction with a bubbling effect:). In May 1950 the (science fiction) writer Hubbard published his theory of unhypnotising, a method to get rid of the influence of traumatic memories. That was with his progressed Sun sign changing (a sign for a change in lifestyle)! And that in 1951 when he turned from pop therapist to religious leader, transit Pholus was square progressed Sun.
L. Ron Hubbard has always been controversial (Sun/Moon semi square Uranus).

The pattern of artistic talent in the chart is:
Venus angular (opposition the Libra Midheaven) sesquisquare Moon and square Neptune.

LOT OF STORIES
The tightest aspect is Mercury trine Jupiter and both are connected to Neptune, making it a grand trine. The grand trine involves the Jupiter-Neptune connection for having fans/followers and for growing in the immaterial field. Mercury is in opposition with the midpoint Jupiter/Neptune; we see a lot of fantasy and religious (Jupiter/Neptune) ideas, devoted audiences and fans. It is not just the Mercury-Jupiter-Neptune connection. What about Sun in Pisces and Sagittarius Ascendant? How about Moon in the equal ninth house? Click on the label Jupiter/Neptune for more about the combination of devoted audiences.

BESIDES...
MONEY
Scientology is often related with money issues. They show in the chart of the founder: Venus and Pluto are angular, reflecting the importance of the money axis.

MARRIAGES
L. Ron Hubbard's has a Mars-Uranus conjunction with Venus square Neptune. Those are two out of the four aspect combinations that make it hard to get or stay married for men. He married three times and had 7 children.

PS With Quaoar trine Ascendant and Venus it was rather easy for him to create new realities (also about himself).

Wrong ideas and silly comments (Mercury-Uranus)

President Silvio Berlusconi has a Mercury-Uranus conflict in his natal chart and that is why we know him as a man who says the most controversial things. Another Italian, Beppe Bigazzi has been suspended from 'Ready Steady Cook' earlier this month. That was because this top food writer recommended cat meat and said that he ate it quite often...At least, that is what the audience think that they heard him say. He says that he was explaining that cat meat was eaten in Italy in the 1930-1940's.

Here above is the chart of the day of birth, with progression and transits. Transit Uranus is now exactly conjunct his progressed Mercury. And in the natal chart he has Mercury square Uranus. That explains, doesn't it? With a Mercury-Uranus conflict eccentric, silly or controversial ideas sometimes pop up just like that...

For the story, see the Daily Mail...See for Berlusconi this link...And for the astrological recipe for famous chef cooks, see this one .

Could Stieg Larsson write?

Stieg Larsson (real name: Karl Stig-Erland Larsson) is a famous Swedish author. He wrote best sellers like 'The girl who played with fire'. He died five years ago and his long time partner, Eva Gabrielsson, was left without a penny. She now wants part of the millions saying that she did more than just editing his detectives...Now a journalist (Anders Hellberg) says that Stieg Larsson couldn't even write! So the question is: what does his chart say about writing talents?
(For more background info about the controversy, see the links below.)

WHAT DOES HIS CHART TELL US?
There is no hour of birth for Stieg Larsson. Here you see the chart with the positions at noon on his birthday and the transits for the day that he died with transit Saturn exactly inconjunct Mars ('unbalancing end of energy, with a lost involved'). There were a few calling planets in his birth chart: Mercury, Venus and Jupiter. This trio is the combination of having a talent for communications. He was a communicator at any possible level (Mercury without major aspects), he was talented (Venus calling) and he was a success (Jupiter). There are 2 quintiles on his day of birth: Sun quintile Saturn and Venus quintile Uranus. Quintiles promise creativity in a certain field. His chart shows possible talent and success. The isolated Moon in Pisces with the ' calling' Venus in Libra is part of the pattern of artistic talent that is so common in the charts of authors, artists and musicians (as you can see on Art&Astrology).

It is also clear that he would write detectives or mysterious books. The Sun is sextile Neptune and conjunct Pluto. The combination with Neptune and Pluto is the combination of the 'silent force' and is often seen in the charts of discrete people who deal with secrets and mysteries, like Agatha Christie. I also like to point at the combination of Sun quintile Saturn and sextile Neptune (illnesses) and Sun quintile Saturn in combination with the conjunction with Pluto (the 'die hard'). The effect of the combination don't only show up in the nature of his books, they also match with the way he lived (on a secret address because of death threads coming from ultra right extremists; Larsson was a communist.).
The first planet rising before his Sun is Mercury, 'calling'. Next is Uranus. He was a journalist first, communicating news items. Later he started writing thrillers (very Uranian).

NOT A WRITER?
Maybe the syntax really was mad and the language as bad as Dagens Nyheter journalist Anders Hellberg says on Lesley Riddoch's site. Maybe it is true that Larsson asked him to have 'a look 'at what he wrote, because he was a weak writer. And maybe it was his partner who did most of the writing. But then, how did he manage to become a famous and wealthy author? Was he so good at delegating? Mercury is semi sesquisquare Neptune in his natal chart. It is a combination of planets that seems to be part of suspicion and rumours. It is also the combination of miscommunications (weak - Neptune - writing - Mercury-). Also the Sun is quintile Saturn. That is the combination for a creative manager, someone who is creative in being the one in charge. The minor aspects in his chart show us a man with fantasy who might communicate (write and speak) at any possible level, with a frustrating 'mist' around his words. He was successful in finding editors. Jupiter is 'calling' and Jupiter is the planet of the helpers and...editors.

SO...
His critics say that he was good at research and a bad writer. Perhaps that is true. But he was also a creative person with great ideas (Mercury and Jupiter 'calling') and he managed to earn a lot of money (Jupiter semi quintile Pluto) with HIS name on the cover. The chart of the day of his birth shows the potential of a creative writer or at least a messenger with talents.

Charts don't judge. Charts show potentials. Charts also show controversies. The chart of the day of his birth shows the potential of a creative writer, someone with great ideas or at least a messenger with talents. It's also the chart of a creative manager and of someone who doesn't write or speak clearly. I would have loved to have his hour of birth and to know the day of birth of his partner Eva Gabrielsson to see how they cooperated and matched. It is an interesting mystery...

PS
Now that there is a movie based on one of his books (see this link: http://www.stieglarsson.com/the-movies) and his partner is demanding her part of the millions, transit Uranus is inconjunct his Sun, Pluto and Neptune. There is a lot of upheavel in Sweden about the position of Larsson's 'widdow' and there is even a site that asks you to donate for her.
*) (I wonder why she didn't ask her lover to acknowledge her as a co-writer when he lived? And why she didn't ask for an arrangement in his will? Well, too late now...)

Charles Dickens positive Jupiter and Moon in Sag

On the way to Xmas and the Winter Solstice I like to pay attention to related charts. One of the authors who contribute most to Xmas atmosphere is Charles Dickens, a great talent who managed to end books in a positive way, always. Why? Jupiter is on top and doesn't make major aspects in sign or 5d orb. That makes Jupiter a prominent planet in the chart and Jupiter is sort of the symbol of Santa Claus himself. Also the Moon is in the sign ruled by Jupiter, Sagittarius. That is a statemtent for always wanting to see the bright sides of life:)...or pretending to do so:) LOL
Yet, with Saturn rising before his Sun he had an eye for poverty, too. And for status. Somehow his characters are always saved because they were of noble birth! There have to be social differences, of course, certainly in that age. There is an other side of Dickens, that I wrote about on Astrology & Love and that is about his relationship with women... He lived in one house with his sister in law when his wife left him and he had a mistress, too. But he had to keep things 'decent', not just because of the oriental Saturn, but also because of the time in history...

TALENT
The artistic talent is obvious. Charles Dickens's Venus in Pisces on the Descendant is related to the Moon, Neptune and Midheaven. With the Midheaven in Gemini and Jupiter on top, 'calling' (= not making aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees) the publishing and writing becomes part of the pattern. Another interesting observation is that the Sun is right in the middle of Mercury and Venus (Sun = Mercury/Venus) and that means that he was a communication talent. The prominent placements of Jupiter and Pluto make us aware of great success. A success that is being repeated each December, the month of his Sagittarian Moon and the signs ruled by Jupiter and Saturn.

The contradictions in the chart of Rudolf Steiner

How to educate children? There are some theories. One of those comes from Rudolph Steiner, born in 1861. Naturally, those theories have to be seen in the light of his days. His theories are in the news in Europe today. A mother in Belgium found out that the Steiner school of her daughter uses corporal punishment for children (and that is forbidden in most Western countries). Her daughter was forced to step up and down the stairs 100 times, for laughing…Other Steiner schools wash mouths with soap after dirty words, make children wear 'big ears' (for not listening) or lock them up in small cabinets. Who would have thought that anthroposophy allowed to hurt other people, however small? This seemingly controversy is reflected in the chart of the founder, that you see here.

The founder of anthroposophy, the basics of the Steiner schools, is the versatile Rudolf Steiner. He is a famous and controversial person (Sun square Uranus, tightly) for his innovative creative ideas (Mercury quintile Uranus). Here is his chart with the patterns of success, art, 'the die hard' and the issue of limited freedom (let us say...karma). A blog is too short to do a complete reading and explain 'it all'. But a blog is long enough to show the main structure of the person who is a successful artist and visionary, the controversial nature of his ideas and the rather strict and thorny presentation of them (the Scorpio Ascendant opposition Pluto). But first: about educating children and using physical punishment.

CHILDREN
The final dispositor (end ruler) of the Midheaven routing is Neptune (on Scheat) conjunct Mercury in the fifth house of children and (pro-)creation. This locates his professional activities.
The Moon does not make Ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. I name that a ‘calling Moon’. He had a vocation to educate and to keep memories alive (like actors do). The Moon is strongly related to children and to behaviour. In our early years we learn to 'behave' as we should (according to our family or group).

BEING STRICT
The aspect combinations of Sun and Mars with Saturn and Pluto and the Scorpio Ascendant opposition Pluto strongly contributed to the rather harsh approach. It seems to contradict the opposition of Venus and Jupiter on the meridian. One side of Steiner is tolerant and kind. The other side of Steiner is strict and severe. The same contradiction is being reflected in the policy of educating children with love and arts and punishing them by hurting them or making them look foolish.

CONTRADICTIONS
There are more than one contradictions in his chart. Mercury conjunct Neptune is one. Sun in Pisces and Moon in Virgo is another one. Oppositions like Venus-Jupiter and Sun-Saturn are also indicating contradictions. He combined science and arts, observations and visions.

ASTRO ID
On the angles are Jupiter and Pluto (an indication for his success, even 150 years later) and Venus, planet of the arts. Jupiter conjunct Midheaven is telling us about the way that his career is related to publications. Pluto on the Descendant makes us aware of the influence and power in presentations. I read that he almost never smiled. Also see the picture in the chart for his appearance.

The midpoint ASC/MC is in aspect with Venus and Uranus (arts and 'changing the world'). The midpoint Sun/Moon with Venus (talents) and Jupiter (success, publishing, traveling, spreading the word).

SATURN AND PLUTO COMBINATIONS
Sun is in Pisces, opposition Saturn and sextile Pluto. Mars is conjunct Pluto and trine Saturn. It is easy to see the 'die hard' and the vigorous measures in the way Saturn and Pluto are tightly in aspect with Sun and Mars*). The combinations are not repeated in the midpoint combinations. The issue of unnatural death is not a theme in his life. But Midheaven is semi square Saturn/Pluto and Mars/Saturn...another combination for being strict and perhaps severe.

Steiner has Sun opposition Saturn, tightly. For more about the aspect between Sun and Saturn, see http://astropost.blogspot.com/2009/03/sun-in-aspect-with-saturn-managing-to.html. In that post I give some examples of managers (and dictators) with this aspect, such as Ceausescu (Rumania). This aspect in the hands of a leader in an undemocratic nation or organisation (...) easily leads to total control and one headed management.

Leo is on Midheaven and the final dispositor is Neptune in Pisces, conjunct Mercury, in the 5th house of children. I read this as: an idealistic (Neptune) theory (Mercury) about children (5th house).

SATURN AND URANUS COMBINATIONS
Saturn square Uranus, both in aspect with the Sun, reflect the subject of limited freedom (free will and/or karma***). Saturn and Uranus are not prominent in his chart, so that the issue of restrictions in his chart never resulted in physical limitations (such as a period in jail, for example).

One of Steiner's ideas is that every human being has a 'spiritual free will'. He wrote about it: The Philosophy of Freedom (see Wikipedia and the defense of his theories. The author states: 'Thus, in Anthroposophy there is simply no excuse for harming others." I .wonder how pulling children’s' hairs or ears fits the concept. It is another contradiction…(see above)

MERCURY CONJUNCT NEPTUNE
The final dispositor of the MC, Neptune, is conjunct Mercury. Cafe Astrology describes the conjunction of Mercury and Neptune. It is the aspect that joins facts and fantasy. Also read my blog, where I mention the aspect Mercury-Neptune:
"When you have to invent stories because you are an author, this aspect can be a blessing, but in real life it is not easy. For an example, see the charts of Gerard and Guillaume Depardieu. BTW, Brad Pitt (actor) has Mercury sextile Neptune, tightly. More about Mercury-Neptune on this blog Astropost:
about the Friedman case." (i.e. Mercury inconjunct Pluto)

FOLLOWERS
He has lot of followers. For this you see Jupiter conjunct Midheaven with Neptune final dispositor of Midheaven. Sun and Venus are (in the 22.5 degree range) in aspect with Jupiter/Neptune. Jupiter-Neptune is the combination of devoted listeners and readers that is found in the charts of those who are on stage or have a public like in arts and religion.

ART
Eurhythmy has been developed by Rudolf Steiner. He also was an architect (the Goetheanum). The astrological artistic pattern****) is:

- The Moon is ‘calling’
- Moon inconjunct**) Venus (sense of art, but...)
- Venus opposition Midheaven (style, diplomacy, charm or talents used in a career)
- Neptune in a creative biquintile with Midheaven (using visions or fantasy in a profession)
- Venus 67.5 midpoint Sun/Moon (in heart and soul an artist or talent)
- Venus 135 degrees from ASC/MC (talents of crucial importance)
- Neptune is the final dispositor of Midheaven (career involves arts, or an ideology)
- The final dispositor of Midheaven is in the 5th house of (pro-)creation (and children and games)

PS SCHEAT
The final dispositor of the Midheaven is Neptune. In the days of Steiner, Neptune was conjunct the fixed star Scheat. That doesn't seem to be a good position for the ruler of his 5th house (of children). At least, that is what I read here....http://theastrologypage.blogspot.com/2007/03/oh-sheat.html

PPS Scheat was important in the chart of the troubled genius John Nash (Beautiful Mind). Read this British blog about it: Visual astrology/
