By and large: Saturn in Sagittarius

Some days ago someone asked if I was a Gemini or a Virgo (because he thinks I spend too much time on details). Time  to show you that I am NOT and time for something that is more 'by and large'. Take for example Saturn moving from Scorpio to Sagittarius.
Soon all Sagittarians will have transit Saturn conjunct Sun. Last time I had that, I started selling my appartement because we moved to a larger house and from a place by the sea to the 'big city'. Saturn ends periods in life...and starts a new one sometimes. For my chart that will be in the first 6 months of 2017, so there is time enough to prepare. I won't move!
Of course 1 transit doesn't change it all and not all persons born on the same day will have the same kind of experience. Still, they will all have to deal with Saturn, the planet of management, business, all that is cool, hierarchy, responsibility, parents and parenthood, mortgages, guilt, failure and sometimes Saturn is just boring, by and large.
Saturn is in the final degrees of Scorpio now. Late September the astrological sign for Saturn will become Sagittarius. That might be the moment when Scorpios look back in gratitude because it is finally over and done:).
Of course there is not just Saturn up there...
Are you a Virgo, Taurus or Capricorn? Then you may have some fortune, because Jupiter will bring some optimisme and trust. Traveling, to study or expansion: it is Jupiter. And there is good news for Sagittarius: Mars will be in their sign to give some energy. They will have to share it with Aries and Leo, of course. And there is a sign that looses energy, too (Capricorn, Cancer).
Sorry that I didn't mention Gemini, Libra, Aquarius and Pisces, but I was supposed to see the big picture of Saturn in Sagittarius and I went along the sideway already! Next time!:)

Second date and astrology

There is a conservative politician in my country who is fighting against Second dating sites. You know, those sites where you can subscribe in order to find a partner to date with, even though both of you are involved in a relationship or married. A diver's watch has a second date, too. You have to get above water in time, when you are diving deep...
In 2014 a second date agency published that 13,4 percent of the members was born under Capricorn. That may not be the usual suspect, but if you want some security and do it in an organized way, you might end up on an internet site seeking a suitable reliable partner for being untrue. There were fewer Sagittarians (5,6 percent) and Scorpios (5,7 percent) among the subscribers in The Netherlands (see article). Perhaps that is because they do it less organized:).
Apart from the 'suspected signs' there are 'suspected aspects'. In ancient astrology books Venus-Saturn aspects were considered to have a negative effect on remaining true in a marriage. I think that that is because in those days it was harder to get a divorce. The couple had to stick together, even if there was no love between them. Venus-Saturn wants to keep the relationship safe and yet, it is rather hard and boring if you don't have a hobby, like astrology, for example.
I mentioned cheating ladies before (see the links). They almost all had Venus and/or Mars without major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees, so that passion could reach any level (100% or zero). All or nothing. Second dating is very different. It is deliberately seeking adventure for your own pleasure, instead of desperately falling in love. We don't know any data about the subscribers, only sun sign percentages. But I can imagine what the charts could be like. It almost always takes more than 1 indication, like in the chart of John F. Kennedy, the Gemini with Moon-Venus, Venus-Neptune and Mars-Uranus aspects to need love, love romance and accelerated fire. He had his wife, he seems to have had Marilyn Monroe and still this was not enough.
It is probably hard to be fiery and romantic in a long and boring marriage, without TV or an interesting hobby. Venus is not just the planet of love, but also the planet of what you love, like your hobby. I wouldn't be surprised if Venus-Saturn was the equivalent of lack of hobby!:) That explains, LOL.
If you want to study more:
Venus-Saturn sticks like glue and makes it hard to be true sometimes http://www.astromarkt.net/astrology_to_study-html/venus-in-aspect-with-saturn-html/
Mom.me names and shames 5 possibly not so true signs and admits that every sign is a suspect...

Innovative science; Jupiter-Uranus + Mercury-Saturn

Today I read about Leslie Dewan, born November 27, 1984 and already a celebrated scientist. She is one of the two co-founders of Transatomic Power - innovative way to use nuclear waste for clean and safe energy-. Now what if that could be a success?

In astrology innovations are part of the vocabulary related to Jupiter+Uranus and science is Mercury + Saturn.
Dr Dewan's  chart is in line with that.

There are keys (Jupiter-Uranus) to being innovative, surprising or 'different' in a positive way:
1. Sun in Sagittarius with Moon in Aquarius. Sagitturius is ruled by Jupiter, Aquarius is ruled by Uranus. This combination of Sun and Moon adds to a helicopter view.
2. This goes with Jupiter semi sextile Uranus for innovations, sudden windfalls and a helicopter view

Mercury and Saturn (the combination of science) are special.
3. Mercury and Saturn are  'calling' (not making narrow aspects in sign) for science
4. Saturn rises before the Sun (the classics, status and management come first)
5. Mercury is Out of Bounds (declination 25°42' 6" S), just like Moon and Venus

So, on that particular day in 1984, there was a big chance for a scientist to be innovative! It doesn't mean that everybody born that day was to be a scientist, but whatever that person does will be serious and ambitious and somehow innovative, surprising or 'different' in a positive way. It very much depends on the hour of birth and circumstances, genes, culture and social position in whAt way...

dHere is the chart for that day:

True and not true sun signs

Interesting research done by a second date site showed that 2.5 times more members were Capricorns than Sagittarius. It seems strange that the serious Capricorns are more true than the freewheeling Sags but I think that there is more than 1 explanation. Take the horns...for example. Venus and Mars should be considered, too. But, we know that Capricorns mind their status and position and the status quo. When they would like some more adventure, they wouldn't want to risk their mortgage, pay alimony and lose a reputation. That could be a reason to search for a secret date with an odor of 'decency' (instead of sex dates). Long lasting marriages can be boring, of course. Sagittarians would, perhaps, separate sooner.

The second sign on top of the list is Aquarius (adventure, something new) and second last is Scorpio (deeply true). Aries and Taurus are third. Of course, people are not sun signs and stats like these can't be used to accuse any sign of being untrue. There is more in a chart, and much more in a secret dater's chart!

It is an interesting study, because apart from a few famous examples we can't really know who is true, can we?

Narendra Modi's chart

It seems that Narendra Modi, born September 17, 1950 in Vadnagar, India, will be the next Prime Minister of India. Modi is a Hindu nationalist politician. His time of birth is unknown. Astrodatabank has two possible hours of birth for us, but no confirmation whatsoever. That is why the hours of birth for the charts are DD-rated. I stick to 'unknown'.

Those who vote for him want change and a better situation. Those who are against him point at his past (especially events in 2002 when he had Progressed Sun semi square Ceres) and say he did too little to stop the riots then.

In the chart of his day of birth and in his past political years there are enough indications for the kind of PM that he will be and in what situation he is now.

His Astro ID shows us:
1. Saturn rising before the Sun (the importance of ambition, classical education, parent and responsibility)
2. Jupiter 'calling' (no aspects within the 5 degree orb or in sign) for the international at any possible level
Jupiter and Saturn are in minor aspect (157.5 degrees), so it might take some time to realize the wanted 'growth' in a hierarchic scene
3. The Moon is Out of Bounds.
The OOB Moon works like a 'calling' Moon' and tells us that emotions and needs can reach any level. An Out of Bounds Sagittarian Moon might be an unlashed person who:
may not really BE cheerful, but you think acting cheerful is a good thing always. You need progress and good news, cannot do without and when you pretend being happy you might actually become happy (you hope). Sometimes you just overdo that! When things are getting wrong or bad you become nervous and hurried"

Because of the lack of an A-rated hour of birth, the angular position are unknown.

His character is illustrated by:
1. Sun in Virgo, Moon most probably in Sagittarius (or else: Scorpio) (at least: in Western astrology. Because in Vedic it might be different...)
2. Tight aspects between Sun, Mercury, Mars and Saturn. Sun-Saturn tight aspects are in the charts of politicians like Hugo Chavez, Turkish PM Erdogan, Robert Mugabe and Putin. They like to be the one (and/or the ONLY one) in charge...
3. Venus sextile Uranus (and Mars sesquisquare Uranus) for explosive passion
4. Sun/Moon midpoint in Libra (square Pholus around noon that day)
If he was born around noon and Pholus is in the spotlights, we might expect that he is very motivated to initiate change (in his life and in that of others) by cooperation.
This is the chart of a flexible, ambitious, very driven and disciplined person who wants change and excitement and who is in heart and soul a diplomat, motivated to cooperate.
It is no wonder that he made a career:)

There is a lot of Pholus in his chart today.
1. Progressed Sun is sextile natal and progressed Pholus
2. Transit Pholus is square natal Sun
It means that he is on a turning point  (of no return) in life and that he must take care of his footsteps. Here are more examples: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2010/04/pholus-files.html

There is also a Venus-Jupiter square in the progressed chart. That is good for popularity and bad for eating too much:).

PS
The only other VIP born on the same day is John Waldo "Fee" Waybill, a singer. The Sagittarius Moon is semi square Neptune and square Venus in the hours around noon. That is a pattern for talent, see Art&Astrology.

The best days for Sagittarius in 2014

Jupiter is the planet that rules Sagittarius. It is the planet of too much, fat, let's go, positive drives and optimism. It is also the planet of the international, journeys and improvements in many ways, but only if you don't 'challenge' your fortune and avoid to cheat! Often, Jupiter is also the planet of good luck. The angle of Jupiter with your Sun gives us information about fortunate moments.

There is good luck for the person born with Sun in Sagittarius before the 15th of December in the second half of 2014 and again in the first 7,5 months of 2015 for those born between December 10 and 22. Maybe that takes too long, even though Saturn in Scorpio, rising before the Sun in Sagittarius calls for patience? Then, try the best moments with Venus! Venus is the planet of fun, joy, love and entertainment. Go for a holiday with Venus and you will likely enjoy it. Best days for such a lovely holiday:
May (2-28)August 12 - September 5November 16 - December 9Two of those periods happen to be in holiday time!

If you want MORE of those days, check your progressed Sun! For example, because of the position of the progressed Sun, the old Sagittarius could have a great holiday in March or October of 2015, too!

A sun sign is just a sun sign and not a person. Your personal chart with time of birth, transits, progressions and your personal circumstances, age, culture or position in society could inform you more about the best days to start a journey, do an exam or have a party. If you have that information (it is free on Astro.com), have a look at the interaction between Venus and Jupiter or see the transits of Jupiter and/or Venus with your natal Ascendant. Don't forget to include Mercury's position! It is way too much for a blog post, that is why I stick to the sun sign here!

The Sagittarius astrologer: Olivia Barclay

In the series of astrologers by sun sign I like to present the chart of Olivia Barclay, a horary and classical astrologer and designer who was born December 12, 1919 and died in 2001.  Her Sagittarius Sun semi sesquisquare Uranus in Aquarius and trine Jupiter represents the Jupiter-Uranus link that I find in almost all charts of astrologers. Her progressed chart for 1980 has the progressed Sun exactly in hard aspect with the midpoint Jupiter/Uranus. That is when she started her study of Lilly.

The classical theme and TIME (horary) is presented by Saturn, calling*)! In the 2nd house and semi square her Sun/Moon midpoint. Design is mirrored by the Moon sextile Venus and half semi square Neptune, trine MC (with Venus opposition MC). There is a prominent Jupiter on the Ascendant, ruling the 5th house. Speculative/predictive advice?

Now in what way was Olivia Barclay a typical Sagittarian astrologer? Almost all astrologers either publish or teach or do consultations. That is maybe enough '9th house stuff' for a Sagittarius. This astrologer also founded a correspondence course for prediction using horary astrology.  Here is her chart (click to enlarge):

Also visit: Astromarkt.net about Jupiter-Uranus: http://www.astromarkt.net/jupiter-in-aspect-with-uranus.html Perhaps one of the reasons why Jupiter-Uranus is so frequently found in the charts of astrologers is that they use to give advice or teach (Jupiter) about astrology and it's techniques (Uranus).

Sagittarius' advice

Sagittarius is my sun sign. I have written about Sagittarius before (see that post) and now I like to tell you about Sagittarius giving and getting advice.
Sagittarius shows you the way. THIS direction is obligatory...
Sagittarius job is to show the way as a guide or a guru. A good Sagittarius shares his or her 'wisdom' by given advice! Yes, sometimes they do so unwanted, o when nobody asked for a 'good' advice. It is not their fault that nobody listens or follows the advice. They understand. That is because Sags tend to ask for advice (what would you do if you were me?), knowing that nobody  could know what to do if they were a Sag. Most of the time the Sagittarius simply goes his or her own way, neglecting the advice. They say that the advice helped them to make up their mind! Perhaps you can see the Sagittarius as a person who helps you to make up your mind...

This bird eats snakes. Name is Sagittarius Serpentarius
Now that the time of the Sag has come, I thought it wise to tell you this and not without an advice for you how to deal with Sagittarius:)! When I say Sagittarius, I mean the sign and not all persons born with Sun in Sagittarius. You can have a lot of placements in Sagittarius, a Sun/Moon midpoint in Sagittarius or a prominent Jupiter to explain your persistance in telling the world what is best for them:).

FAMOUS SAGITTARIUS PEOPLE
Beethoven is one of the most well known Sags and here is something on the loudness in the music and the chart: http://art-astrology.blogspot.nl/2008/12/loudness-and-charts-of-beethoven-and.html Recently I went to see a concert and heard the Fifth.

On this blog you also find
Tina Turner

And here is the one of Sagittarius Ozzy Osbourne (Moon sextile Venus square Neptune and trine Midheaven for the pattern of the artist):
I can't help it that they are loud. It seems that the voice of a Sagittarius is also loud. Maybe that is the connection with the teacher and the preacher and the singer?

QUESTION
Are you born with Sun in Sagittarius? How do you deal with giving and getting advice?

Another Mars-Uranus terrorist

This is a quick post about an observation that I made when I read the news today.
It is Mars-Uranus linked to terrorism, again.

Today I found one more example: Samantha Lewthwaite, nick name The White Widow (her husband Germaine was one of the London 7/7 2005 terrorists). She is wanted by Interpol because she may be involved in the terrorist attack in the Nairobi shopping mall.

She was born on December 5, 1983 . On that day Uranus was rising just before the Sun and Uranus was exactly sextile Mars.

The aspect of the short fuse and the drive to make changes asap, may be just one of the reasons why a person commits such cruel crime, but I mention it here because it is that one reason that she shares what the other terrorists whose chart I calculated: a prominent Mars-Uranus combination. (And yes: there is more in the chart, like the cluster in Sagittarius and the 'calling' Saturn in Scorpio just as there is more to say about her road to terror, perhaps).

Here is her chart:
natal, transits and progressions of Samantha Lewthwaite
PS
- When she was 17, her progressed Sun sign changed sign to Capricorn (a sign that life style changes). That is when she converted to Islam.
- The Uranus-Pluto square 'hit' her Mars-Uranus lately and will hit her Mars again.

LINKS
Also visit: Astromarkt.net and see the article on Mars-Uranus (the short fuse) with the list of examples of terrorist with narrow and prominent Mars-Uranus combinations.. Of course, Mars-Uranus doesn't turn a person into a terrorist. It is the other way around: terrorists have it.

The new year with Venus conjunct Pholus

This blog is about the chart of New Year 2013. It is a different chart in every other country, of course, but some things remain the same amid the firework. Venus conjunct Pholus in 20-21 Sagittarius is one of those things. If you have the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, MC or sun/moon midpoint in your natal, solar return or progressed chart and in the 20th - 21st degree of Sagittarius, Virgo, Gemini or Pisces you start 2013 with Venus and Polus in aspect with your chart. What does it mean? A desire to make a change, but: with the risk to throw your own glasses or shoot your own foot. It may look pretty difficult to make choices and start changes with Venus-Pholus, but somehow, on or around New Year's day the desire starts growing. It is a desire to make things better, nicer, more comfortable, more peaceful and more beautiful. And this desire is in the chart of New Year's day for everyone,  if you like to see the chart of New Year as valid for your 2013.  At least, that is what I hope that it means. It might be the first time that Venus is conjunct Pholus in the chart of a new year, so let us all watch what happens next!

This is the chart of 2013 starting in Tokyo, Japan:

1 WE have PHOLUS
Pholus is the symbol of the turning point, the creation of a change in future that you may not be aware of during the transit or progression, but that you recall later. Example: the impact of the death of JFK on young Obama was reflected by Pholus. It is like a marking point. Maybe Obama would still have had the ambition to be a President anyway, but he remembered that specific moment as an important key point, later.

2 WE have VENUS
Venus is the planet of wishes, of fun, pleasure, desire, synpathy, love, style, and sweetness.

3 WE have VENUS conjunct PHOLUS
Venus and Pholus join forces to start changing your ideas of what is nice, fun, good and lovely.
Those who will be born around New Year's day may have the power to change people's style and taste, just by being who they are: catalyst when it comes to what is considered to be good and nice.

20-21 MUTABLE SIGNS
Venus is in the 20th degree and Pholus in the 21st of Sagittarius on New Year's day. If these degrees mean something to you, and IF you consider the January 1 chart valid for 2013, you may be interested in the possible meaning. When Venus is on your Sun or MC or Ascendant, something nice comes your way. When Pholus is on your Sun, MC, or Ascendant, your world starts changing but you don't notice immediately. If they come together, hand in hand, it might be something pleasant that starts the change.

Maybe the 20-21 degree Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius or Gemini will meet someone who starts changing their world, with kindness. Perhaps they watch a movie or get a present that changes their views (Sun), ideas (Mercury), position (MC), motivation (Sun/Moon) or situation (AC). I don't know. I am one of them with Sun and Midheaven hit by Venus and Pholus.  Venus will be on my Sun and MC on New Years day. I expect it to be a nice day:). I will be back later next year to tell you if the January 1 chart with Venus-Pholus hitting my chart meant something for me. I am also interested in your experiences, so I will remind you of this post in the months to come and ask you to tell me what you found to be the meaning of Venus-Pholus on New Year's day.

2013
Fact is, that at 00h00 local time on January 1, 2013, Venus and Pholus are opposition Midheaven in Iceland. I wish the Icelanders a prosperous start of the new year and I hope that something started to make life better over there! Or will it be nice fire work only?:)
We will see...

HAVE  A WONDERFUL START OF 2013!

AND HAVE A GOOD, HEALTHY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.

The Venus and Pholus of Whoopi Goldberg

Oops, Whoopi Goldberg confessed that she has been untrue, too! I couldn’t believe it just like that, I just had to see her chart. And there he was: Pholus, now conjunct her progressed Mercury (symbol of communications). It was perhaps a statement that was ‘ bubbling up’; sort of a message in bottle, uncorked just like that...
The conjunction of Progressed Mercury and natal Pholus reveals a mental turning point. Pholus is also semi sextile her progressed Sun and transit Saturn is semi square her natal Sun/Moon midpoint (and that might make her family life a little colder today).

THREE MARRIAGES
Of course it takes a marriage or a relationship to be able to cheat.
In the natal chart we see Jupiter in the 7th house (multiple marriage), conjunct Pluto (perhaps for an awful lot of marriages). I checked the internet and found out that she married and divorced three times. For more about multiple marriages, click this link to see the post on this blog.
BTW Jupiter and Pluto are in hard minor aspect with the midpoint of Ascendant and Midheaven and that is a statement for success.

LOVE AND ROMANCE
Her Venus is ‘ calling’ on Midheaven; this is reflecting entertainment and style at any possible level, related to her career. The Moon is also important (in Scorpio, rising before her Sun and quintile Jupiter; she has a strong need to defend those of her party, side, family etcetera). Neptune is the first outer planet rising before the Sun. Moon, Venus and Neptune are important. That is how I see the pattern of artistic talent in her chart. There is also a novile between Venus and Neptune.

The same pattern also shows romantic feelings (Moon and Venus for feelings, Neptune for romance). Thats one of the reasons why there are so many divorces in the world of entertainment. The fact that Venus is calling on Midheaven and in the sign of Sagittarius ' helps' to ' hunt' in love. Sagittarius is not the most faithful position for Venus. A Venus in Sagittarius in a bad marriage loves to pack her bags or take a short trip if she can. Whoopi could.
You see, her Uranus doesn’t make major aspects in 5 degrees or in sign and that makes her Uranus ‘ calling’, too. Uranus is the symbol of rebellion, independence and upheaval, now and then. Did I already mention that Mars in Libra is ‘ calling’? With Venus and Mars ‘ calling’ this is what you get: passion, anyhow, somehow. Seven positions in fixed signs didn’t keep her in her marriages and even didn’t stop her from seeing others or from keeping this a secret, in spite of her Scorpio Sun, Moon, Mercury and Saturn. That is how strong a ' calling' Venus, Mars, Moon and Uranus are.
(With a bit of fantasy you could read the prominent four like this: need for passionate adventures... or driven by falling in love again and again...It all depends on who and where and in what age (and time or place) you are with such a combination. The combination and in particular the prominent Venus is also reflecting the fun that she has and that she gives us with her characters.)

SUPPORT FOR TIGER WOODS
What Whoopi said was related to the troubles of Tiger Woods and she probably ment to support him. His Jupiter is biquintile her Sun and her Jupiter is quintile his Mars and square his Venus. Jupiter is the reflection of support and in this case of mutual help.

Charles Dickens positive Jupiter and Moon in Sag

On the way to Xmas and the Winter Solstice I like to pay attention to related charts. One of the authors who contribute most to Xmas atmosphere is Charles Dickens, a great talent who managed to end books in a positive way, always. Why? Jupiter is on top and doesn't make major aspects in sign or 5d orb. That makes Jupiter a prominent planet in the chart and Jupiter is sort of the symbol of Santa Claus himself. Also the Moon is in the sign ruled by Jupiter, Sagittarius. That is a statemtent for always wanting to see the bright sides of life:)...or pretending to do so:) LOL
Yet, with Saturn rising before his Sun he had an eye for poverty, too. And for status. Somehow his characters are always saved because they were of noble birth! There have to be social differences, of course, certainly in that age. There is an other side of Dickens, that I wrote about on Astrology & Love and that is about his relationship with women... He lived in one house with his sister in law when his wife left him and he had a mistress, too. But he had to keep things 'decent', not just because of the oriental Saturn, but also because of the time in history...

TALENT
The artistic talent is obvious. Charles Dickens's Venus in Pisces on the Descendant is related to the Moon, Neptune and Midheaven. With the Midheaven in Gemini and Jupiter on top, 'calling' (= not making aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees) the publishing and writing becomes part of the pattern. Another interesting observation is that the Sun is right in the middle of Mercury and Venus (Sun = Mercury/Venus) and that means that he was a communication talent. The prominent placements of Jupiter and Pluto make us aware of great success. A success that is being repeated each December, the month of his Sagittarian Moon and the signs ruled by Jupiter and Saturn.

Richard Hammond (TopGear), his chart and crashes

On September 20, 2006 Richard Hammond had a serious accident and he was only lucky to survive and to be able to continue life in good shape. That was with progressed Sun square progressed Jupiter and transit Mars conjunct Uranus. Mars + Uranus together reflect the incident or accident and driving to fast. Various examples on this blog may be found under the label 'accidents'.

CRASH
Yesterday Richard Hammond's precious car bumped into another car and the car was hurt more than Richard was. Now we don't see any transit to accompany this incident (but perhaps his Ascendant was 'hit'). Without hour of birth there is no insight in the placements on the Ascendant, its degree etc. But this example shows that serious accidents that cause physical damage go together with corresponding transits. I had an accident that completely ruined my car and left me without a noticeable scratch with transit Uranus semi square Mercury (23'orb), Saturn biquintile Saturn (13'orb) and Saturn semi sextile Uranus (3'orb). Mars was septile my Ascendant and the transiting Midheaven was exactly 157.5 degrees (sesquisquare + half semi square) Uranus. I have Jupiter semi square Mars/Uranus and conjunct Ascendant, perhaps that combination of planets contributed to the ‘happy’ ending. Richard Hammond has Mars sesquisquare Jupiter/Uranus.

SAG's and MARS-URANUS= rushing horse powers!
The Sagittarians are more often involved in accidents than for example Capricorns. That is astro-logical. Sagittarius is the sign of the hunter, rushing away like the arrow that flies and of the horse and horsepower. But let's see what we can find in the positions of the day of birth of Richard Hammond. Why does speed attract him so much? Mars is biquintile Uranus. That is why! It is THE aspect combination that reflects the drive to rush things (see Astromarkt)...Such an aspect in the chart of a Sagittarian will of course rush the horse powers!

DARING EXCITEMENT (anyhow!)
On December 19, 1969 Venus and Uranus didn't make major aspects. That is mirroring a desire for excitement at any possible level. The combination of Sun Sagittarius (ruled by Jupiter) and Moon in Taurus (ruled by Venus) characterizes him as the 'party animal' (with horse power!).
With Sun square Pluto he is likely to be a fanatic, willing to win and daring to face dangers if needed. He doesn’t make life easy on himself…Sun-Pluto afflictions might live life dangerously and intense, forcing yourself...It is the tightest aspect in his chart, except perhaps for Mars sextile Saturn, a soft warning to take precautions. I think that the positions on his birthday were in line with his later position in public: making a lot of (sometimes dangerous) fun…

Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson both have Mars in Pisces and both do their job for the media (television, glossy magazines).

Multiple marriages, double bodied signs and Jupiter in 7

This Astropost is about Jupiter in the 7th house and about Venus in double bodied signs like Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. They are seen as an indication for multiple marriages or serious relationships. I explain what a double bodied sign is and I give some famous (controlable) examples (Ira von Fürstenberg, Jacqueline and John Kennedy, Hugh Hefner, Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon, Tina Turner, Barbara Streisand and more...).

DOUBLE BODIED SIGN
The mutable or movable signs are double bodied signs. Two of them are related to twins or look-a-likes: Gemini (the twins) and Pisces(2 fishes). Two of them figure a human being and an animal: Virgo (maiden and bird) and Sagittarius (man and horse). I suppose we should expect a difference in the effect of these double bodied signs. Dualism (Virgo and Sagittarius) or 'two of a kind' (Gemini and Pisces), that is the difference. But there are more differences, related to the element of the sign.

MOVABLE IN FIRE, EARTH, AIR AND WATER
Gemini is an air sign, a sign that belongs to the trine of communications, relationships and communities (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius). Virgo is an earth sign, a sign that belongs to the trine of materialism, efficiency and realism (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn). Sagittarius is a fire sign, a sign that belongs to the trine of energy, vitality and spirit (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius). Pisces is a water sign in the trine of Cancer (emotions and memories), Scorpio (processing, continuation) and release (Pisces). Of course other words can be used in the astrological vocabulary. What difference could there be between having Venus in Gemini or Pisces or a Venus in Virgo or Sagittarius. And how can these double bodied signs be related to marrying more than once? I will give some examples of men and women with Venus in double bodied signs. These examples will also show the flexibility (...sic) of charts. One placement in one sign does not tell it all...It remains possible, for example, to get married and divorced several times even when Venus is not in a double bodied sign or with Saturn in the 7th house instead of Jupiter! More about that at the end of this post.

VENUS IN GEMINI
Venus in Gemini is Venus in an air sign and in a flexible sign. Gemini reflects youth (the first contacts). Venus in Gemini has a preference (Venus) for what is young and for the period of youth in general. When you marry young or when you marry the person you loved when you were young, the chance of marrying again was great in the Middle Ages. Women died young (having a baby, for example). In the chart of males Venus in Gemini would start seeking a replacement, someone just like the lost person, someone young. In the chart of women Venus in Gemini would prefer to marry young and to look young. But there would always be the chance of marrying twice. They are the young woman and you look younger when you marry an older man.
BTW You don't need to divorce to have multiple partners. How about dancing?

JACQUELINE KENNEDY
Think of Jacqueline Kennedy. She married John F. Kennedy when she was 24 and that is not extremely young. When he died, she married an older man (Onassis). Her Venus is in Gemini and opposition Saturn. Jupiter is in her 7th house. There are two indications for marrying more than once (Venus in Gemini and Jupiter in the 7th). The usual indications for divorce are not found (they are: Sun afflicting or conjunct Mars or Uranus, Venus afflicting or conjunct Uranus and/or Mars afflicting or conjunct Saturn and/or afflictions between the 1st and 7th house). We see Venus (ruler 7) in the 8th house and in the 22nd degree.

So maybe Jaqueline Kennedy's Jupiter and Venus are bad examples. But although her second husband was older, he looked like Kennedy in one way: he was just as rich and enabled her to travel (Jupiter in the 7th house).

(Astrology.com has a site to release stress coming from the 22nd degree.

JOHN F. KENNEDY
John F. Kennedy married only once but he had several 'relationships' while married. It is said that he hired a dozen of prostitutes once and a while. Moon square Venus in double bodied signs reflect the need for women. And Jupiter is in his 8th house (of sex) and not in the 7th (of marriage). Had he still lived and stopped being a president, he would likely have had a divorce. There are two out of four indications for a divorce: Mars is square Uranus, Venus is semi square Neptune.

IRA VON FÜRSTENBERG
Socialite and actress Ira von Fürstenberg has Venus in Gemini and she married twice. She also has Jupiter in the 7th house. Again we see two indications for 2 marriages. However, this lady also has Saturn in the 7th house. Fortunately for her, Jupiter is more important in her chart as Jupiter is rising before the Sun.

Ira von Fürstenberg married when she was only 15 and her husband was 31! (Venus conjunct Mars often makes a quick start!). The marriage ended in divorce after 5 years and was annuled 9 years later. The second time she married an even older man (24 years older) and divorced less than 3 years later.

There are little indications for divorce in her chart, except for the half semi square between Venus and Uranus. So this Venus in Gemini might be a good example of marrying young and twice. The presence of Sun, Saturn and Jupiter in the 7th house is also pointing at the importance of partnership.

VENUS IN VIRGO
Different kind of relationships are to be expected with Venus in Virgo. Ingrid Bergmann, John Lennon, Roger Moore and François Mitterand had Venus in this flexible earth sign. Practical art and a cool look are other ways to express Venus in Virgo.

INGRID BERGMANN (Venus in Virgo)
Ingrid Bergmann (29 August 1915 at3h30 CET Stockholm) was born with Venus in Virgo and Jupiter in the 8th house. She married twice and in between she had a nine year affair that caused a scandle in those days. There are no indications for a divorce in her natal chart. So the position of Venus seems to be a good example for this post.

JOHN LENNON (Venus in Virgo)
John Lennon married twice. Once when he was young (Mercury in the 7th house), divorced and married someone older than him. In a period of this marriage he left her for a very young girl. His chart shows a disproportional need for love and women (Moon inconjunct Venus). Mars in Libra is (IMO) related to divorces because Mars is not in the right place in Libra and 'fighting each other' might be the effect when cooperation ends.

He had Venus in Virgo, a flexible earth sign. Venus did not make any Ptolemaic aspect in sign or orb 5 degrees, so Venus was 'calling'. His Venus was inconjunct Moon in Aquarius and 22.5 degrees (half semi square) Saturn. Venus (ruler 7) and Mars (ruler 1) are semi sextile. There is an opposition of Mercury in the 7th with Saturn and Jupiter in the 1st house. That is the indication for possible divorce.

John Lennon was an artist. Artist tend to divorce more often than others (and they can afford it:). He could not find a balance between his preferences and his needs. Venus in Virgo is reflecting two DIFFERENT kinds of marriages.
About John Lennon and his relationships, see an earlier post:
http://astropost.blogspot.com/2008/10/astrology-chart-of-john-lennon-and.html

ROGER MOORE (Venus in Virgo)
Roger Moore married four times. He has Venus in Virgo and ruler 7 is Uranus at Aries Point. Moon opposition Saturn is an indicaton for getting divorced, but it is only one. So Venus in Virgo seems to be a good example for this post about double bodied Venus-signs related to several marriages. BTW, Moon is in Gemini on top of his chart.

Roger Moore is one of the James Bonds in my article on Astromarkt about the astrological pattern that James Bond shares with James Bond: http://www.astromarkt.net/artbonduk.htm

FRANCOIS MITTERAND (Venus in Virgo)
François Mitterand (26 October 1916 at 4 GMT in Jamac France) had his own way to have several relationships. He even had them at the same time. His Venus is in Virgo AND Jupiter is in the 7th house.
See for more about Mitterand: http://astropost.blogspot.com/2008/10/when-ladies-smile-like-in-chart-of.html

VENUS IN SAGITTARIUS
As Venus is in a flexible fire sign, the second marriage partner should be different or there would be a completely different kind of relationship the second time. You can see that in the charts of Tina Turner, Jeanne Moreau and Albert Mol.

TINA TURNER
Tina Turner married once. She never married again but...She is living with EMI record executive Erwin Bach since 1986.

She had multiple indications for divorce (Sun ruler 1 tightly square Mars and quindecile Uranus ruler 7, Venus biquintile Uranus and Mars septile Saturn) in her chart when she was born. This amount of indications in the chart of a woman usually point at being self sufficient and independent enough to be able not to marry. See Uranus ruler 7 on top of her chart, too. With Mars in the 7th house inconjunct Pluto and 75 degrees from Uranus the chart is reflecting the abuse in her first marriage.

Venus ruler Midheaven AND 5th house of pleasures, entertainment and the other gender, is in Sagittarius. Venus is square the oriental Neptune. This is a statement for an artist and for sensitivity. Sagittarius is a flexible fire sign (and she moves enthusiastic, doesn't she?:). Her Venus is also square Jupiter. The combination of Venus-Jupiter and Neptune is telling us that she has a devoted audience (Jupiter-Neptune) related to beauty or arts (Venus). See Art & Astrology...http://art-astrology.blogspot.com/2008/12/astrology-chart-tina-turner.html
Venus in Sagittarius made her relate to a different kind of person in a different kind of relationship (not officially married, but in a long lasting relationship; Venus trines Saturn).

JEANNE MOREAU
Jeanne Moreau, the French actress, married twice (briefly) and had several spouses. She has a Sagittarian Venus, ruling her Ascendant. An indication for possible divorce is the aspect of the Sun semi sextile the oriental Mars. And how about the independent Moon in Aquarius on top of the chart? She is rich and famous enough to be able to divorce when needed and wanted. Perhaps that is why it takes no more than a double bodied Venus to marry more than once.
See her chart on Art&Astrology: http://art-astrology.blogspot.com/2009/02/astrology-chart-jeanne-moreau.html

ALBERT MOL
Dutch comedy actor Albert Mol had Venus in Sagittarius. He was homosexual but married a woman and had children with her. Mol (born 3 January 1917 at 3 AMT in Amsterdam) also had Moon in Taurus. Perhaps having children was a reason to get married at the time. Indications for divorce are Moon in the 7th at 75 degrees from Saturn and the half semi square between Mars and Uranus.

VENUS IN PISCES
Venus in Pisces is a flexible Venus in a double look-a-like sign. But Venus is also very sensitive, empathic and romantic in Pisces. That is why so many artists have Venus in Pisces or Venus related to the ruler of Pisces. Examples? See my other blog: Art&Astrology.

RICHARD NIXON
Richard Nixon (9 January 1913, 21h30 PST Yorba Linda) had Venus in Pisces. He never divorced, but often left his wife Pat alone in the White House while he spent his days with his friends. Is it surprising that Neptune, the ruler of the house of marriage (the 7th) is in the 11th of friends? Also notice that the Moon is in Aquarius, not making Ptolemaic aspects within 5 degrees. That is an indication for a very strong need to be in the company of friends and equals. It also illustrates a need to be independent and free. There are no indications for divorce in his chart. And he seems to have appraciated his wife and his marriage.
There is an article on Astromarkt about the chart of Richard Nixon, that I wrote in 2005: http://www.astromarkt.net/artnixon.htm.

BARBARA STREISAND
Barbara Streisand has Venus in Pisces, the last of the flexible signs. Venus in Pisces is not uncommon in the charts of artists. Venus rules her 7th house and is square Jupiter, sesquisquare Pluto and biquintile Uranus. Notice the combiation of Venus, Jupiter and Pluto for the great success as an artist.

There are little indications for possible divorce in her natal chart. Mars (ruler 1) is semi sextile Saturn. And that is it. So in this case, Venus in the double bodied sign is a good example. Of course, in this chart Venus disposes of the 7th house of partnership and that might be the reason for having two marriages.

See more about her chart on Art & Astrology: http://art-astrology.blogspot.com/2008/12/astrology-chart-barbara-streisand.html

HUGH HEFNER
Is there a better example than Hugh Hefner? He has Venus in Pisces and as Venus does not make any major aspect in sign or orb 5 degrees, Venus is 'calling'. We can clearly see that. See the post about his chart: http://astropost.blogspot.com/2008/10/playboy-hugh-hefner-and-his-chart.html

JUPITER IN THE 7th HOUSE (for more than one marriage)
Jupiter symbolizes multitude, 'more and more' and growth. Either you grow in marriage or your partner does, sometimes you both get fat:) That is one way to express the influence of Jupiter. There are more. For example: getting married more than once. The reason that Jupiter symbolizes successes and overload is that Jupiter is the biggest planet of them all.

MARILYN MONROE
Marilyn Monroe was born with Jupiter in the 7th house. She married a few times. The first time she was only 16 years old and she married asap. The second time was for 9 months only. And the third time her husband (Arthur Miller) left her for someone else. She has Sun (ruler 1) quintile Uranus (ruler 7) for a creative way to be independent and free through relating. She married instead of going to an orphany! She has Jupiter in the 7th opposition Neptune in the 1st and that is an indication for possible divorce. So is the Moon in 7 opposition Neptune. Mars is trine Saturn in the 22nd degree of Scorpio at the bottom of the chart. And Venus is in Aries (like in the chart of Elisabeth Taylor).

FRANÇOIS MITTERAND
François Mitterand had Jupiter in the 7th house and Venus in Virgo (see there). He had several partners while he was married.

J.W. JONES
J.W. Jones, the notorious sect leader (13 May 1931, 22 hours in Lynn IN) had Jupiter and Pluto in the 7th house with Venus in Aries square Saturn in the first house.

In the charts of less famous people Jupiter in the 7th house may have the same meaning. But there is also the possibility that you marry to progress or travel together. Let us face it: with Jupiter in the 7th house you may be lucky to get married and there is an advantage if you do. So why wouldn't you do it twice?

MULTIPLE RELATIONS WITHOUT MOVABLE VENUS SIGNS OR JUPITER IN 7...
Finally, to prove stats wrong, I like to mention the chart of Elisabeth Taylor, the woman who married 7 times with Venus in Aries (not a double bodied sign at all). Uhm...wrong, I said? The cusp of her 7th house of partnership is in the double bodied sign Gemini...A better example perhaps is the chart of Johnny Depp (see my blog Art&Astrology). He married once and had several domestic spouses. He has Saturn (!)in the seventh house.
And how about the chart of Zsa Zsa Gabor (6 February 1915, 20:08 CET Budapest), who married 8 times has Venus in Capricorn square Aries Point, but she has Pisces on the cusp of the 7th house and the ruler of Pisces (Neptune) is 'calling', biquintile Mercury ruler 1. Picture it: ruler 1 Mercury biquintile the 'calling' Neptune ruler 7 for a creative (biquintile) way to relate at any kind of level...
Joseph Smith (23 December 1805, 18:15 in Sharon), founder of the polygamous Mormones had an unaspected Moon in the 7th house in Aquarius and perhaps other reasons to marry more than one woman (having a family with children, for example).

PS
An explanation about the indications for a divorce..
In a man's chart they are:
Hard aspects between Moon and Saturn or Neptune, Venus and Neptune, Mars and Uranus.
In a female's chart they are:
Hard aspects between Sun and Mars or Uranus, Venus and Uranus, Mars and Saturn.
And in the charts of both genders:
Afflictions between the 1st and 7th house (rulers)

I found that Venus in Aries or Mars in Libra do not make relationships easy. Neither does the placement of Neptune on the horizon in the charts of females. Hard aspects between Moon, Venus and/or Mars illustrate that it may be hard to find a match (and so the nativity needs to compromise).

CONCLUSION
Every chart is unique. And there are many ways to express Venus in mutable signs. Actors have 'movie partners'. You can have dance partners. You can even have partners in crime! But when it is about love: Venus in mutable signs is flexible. And when things aren't going, they just move on. Swifter than other signs do, they adapt to new situations in love. And with Jupiter in the 7th there is an advantage to get married, so why not...I know persons with Venus in Gemini who love to dance, but only with one special partner. The language of astrology is as multi interpretable as the flexibility of the movable signs is.
