Today I read about Leslie Dewan, born November 27, 1984 and already a celebrated scientist. She is one of the two co-founders of Transatomic Power - innovative way to use nuclear waste for clean and safe energy-. Now what if that could be a success?
In astrology innovations are part of the vocabulary related to Jupiter+Uranus and science is Mercury + Saturn.
Dr Dewan's chart is in line with that.
There are keys (Jupiter-Uranus) to being innovative, surprising or 'different' in a positive way:
1. Sun in Sagittarius with Moon in Aquarius. Sagitturius is ruled by Jupiter, Aquarius is ruled by Uranus. This combination of Sun and Moon adds to a helicopter view.
2. This goes with Jupiter semi sextile Uranus for innovations, sudden windfalls and a helicopter view
Mercury and Saturn (the combination of science) are special.
3. Mercury and Saturn are 'calling' (not making narrow aspects in sign) for science
4. Saturn rises before the Sun (the classics, status and management come first)
5. Mercury is Out of Bounds (declination 25°42' 6" S), just like Moon and Venus
So, on that particular day in 1984, there was a big chance for a scientist to be innovative! It doesn't mean that everybody born that day was to be a scientist, but whatever that person does will be serious and ambitious and somehow innovative, surprising or 'different' in a positive way. It very much depends on the hour of birth and circumstances, genes, culture and social position in whAt way...
dHere is the chart for that day:

See Super Moon?
I recall that I was on a parking place when I noticed a strange sort of cloud in front of the Moon. It was earth. Nobody else was looking up. Everybody was busy eating, drinking, stretching or minding the children. How many people in the world will be looking up and see any difference in the seize of the moon tonight? I wonder if the "Super Moon" will shine on that mountain in Iraq, too. How many people will watch Super Moon in Syria, Gaza, Ukraine or Israel? Does it help them to know the chart of today? I wonder... Perhaps that is because the super moon is in my 12th house. Or it is because there are too many clouds to be able to see any moon at all. And: the moon isn't SUPERB at all (see: http://m.space.com/26782-is-sunday-s-supermoon-full-moon-really-that-super.html ) This is the chart of Super Moon.
1. Sun inconjunct Chiron (painful insight)
2. Jupiter inconjunct Neptune (imbalanced beliefs)
3. Saturn inconjunct Uranus (breaking free or loosing freedom, either way)
Inconjuncts mirror a state of imbalance with the risk of having to give up or losing. More than 2 of them in a chart don't contribute to stability and pleasure.
Astrology is like meteorology. There is a weather report and depending on your position and situation the weather is either good or bad. Apparently, being in the Middle East right now is not being in a good situation. Those inconjuncts don't help. It is a situation with a sliding scale, but the chart won't tell who wins and who dies. It is simply pointing at unstable weather with losses involved.
For those born on the 9 or 10th of February, May, July or November, this full moon promises personal change in the next 14 days. It depends on where and who you are, what kind of change it will be. I hope it is a good one!

Aries astrologer Dane Rudhyar
" In the chart of Rudhyar we see the Moon in Aquarius trine Jupiter, the combination of the calling Uranus and the ascendant in Sagittarius, but most of all the midpoint combinations with Jupiter and Uranus as an indication for the metier.
Here we go:
Sun 157.5 Jupiter/UranusJupiter 157.5 Uranus/Nodes and 135 Asc/MCUranus 157.5 Moon/Jupiter and 90 d from Jupiter/MC"HOW did Dane Rudhyar show being an Aries? He was a pioneer in humanistic astrology!
PS
a. 157.5 is the well known sesquisquare (135d) + half semi square (22.5). It is a minor, but not to be overlooked aspect.
b. a 'calling' planet is a planet without major (Ptolemaic) aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. These planets show up at any kind of level, somehow and anyhow.

One year Pope Francis and 20 degree Libra
One year ago, on March 13, 2013 Pope Francis was elected to be the new pope. From the start he showed to be modest, friendly and caring, as if he wants to impersonate the principle of Cancer Ascendant (doing it, keeping it simple). The Sagittarius Sun and Aquarian Moon contribute to the helicopter view needed in his position as a leader (Sun is 'calling'!) in a modern world. But the most important position in his chart is for Mars.
His Mars is important in 3 ways:
1. Mars rises before the Sun,
2. Mars doesn't make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees (Mars 'calls' )
3. Mars is square the midpoint Sun/Moon. It means that he 'goes for it', and is motivated by action and being active.
You could expect an athlete with such a Mars, but as Mars is in the 20th degree of Libra, his work includes books, libraries and studies. The Sabian symbol of the 20th degree of Libra speaks of a Rabbi (a man of God) surrounded by books and manuscripts. The activities of Pope Francis are of an intellectual and spiritual order, even though he loves football and he supports the San Lorenzo de Almagro football club. Pope Francis is a Jesuit (the most intellectual order in the Roman Catholic Church). On March 11 1958 he joined the order, rejecting his love for a girl (progressed chart Venus inconjunct Ascendant…for giving up on a love relationship), with transit Saturn on his Sun (as a symbol of a period ending and facing responsibilities). Watch that progressed chart, with Mars in a key position with Mercury, Pluto and the Ascendant. It was 56 years ago.
Today, his transits and progressions are reflecting his extraordinary popularity by means of the Moon. The progressed MC is inconjunct Moon and the progressed Moon is now inconjunct Midheaven. Also transit Jupiter conjunct progressed MC and inconjunct progressed Moon helps to be supported. It is a good start, but will it last?
Look at the future transits and progressions.
- Transit Pholus (important in the natal chart, sitting on the Descendant) is getting closer to his natal Sun, reaching a point of no return, while
- transit Uranus is getting closer to a square with Progressed MC (upheaval).
- Saturn will hit his Mercury, Venus and Mars (making it all harder),
- there will be a progressed Mercury-Mars square (for discussions) and
- in the progressed chart Mars will be inconjunct Venus to signal losing balance with passions (not necessarily sexual or love related, more like if an overdose of passion and loving fire ceases a bit).
In the progressed chart Midheaven is opposition Pholus (turning point at home - in Rome) and transit Eris was recently on his progressed Descendant (discord on the horizon).
Luckily for him, there will still be support. Jupiter will reach the progressed MC, trine the progressed Sun and enter the progressed 10th public house and the natal first.
One of the characteristics of Pope Francis, in my opinion, is the capacity of mingling the rules and practice, not fighting the status quo, without becoming one of 'them' in the eyes of the people and still being the catalyst (Pholus opposite Ascendant) of changes. How does that show in his chart? Perhaps in the Moon and Venus in the 7th house of relationships in the friendly Aquarius explains? A need to be kind and keep the friendly peace? Feeling love for all others, in an Aquarian way (for the community of men)? And all the while creatively (quintile) achieving success through perseverance (Jupiter-Saturn)?
Anyway, I think that the importance of Mars in the 20th degree of Libra explains a lot of the importance of living like a monk or priest. According to Janduz, this is the degree of the religious mind. She described this degree like this: the sun setting and shining into a hallway in a convent where a monk (holding a book in his hands) is reaching a small altar with an incensory.
That picture looks like that of an old rabbi, sitting in a room with books, doesn't it?
How do you see the Sabian degree of your most important planet?
================================================
PS
I promised to pay more attention to 'out of bounds'. In Pope Francis' chart, Mercury is out of bounds. Mercury is in the 12 degree of Capricorn ('Miracles of nature scientifically painted'). This is a degree of cosmography (and training dogs, as it seems:). I like the out of bounds (unusual) rather unearthly degree for this pope's opinions.

They may not have the same Sun/Moon midpoint (with Mars) so that maybe the Sun is more important than Mars (and an other Sabian symbol), but they share the 20th degree of Libra for Mars in some way.

Ada Muir, a Gemini astrologer
In October 2012 I blogged about Margareth Hone, a Libra astrologer. I intented to write about an astrologer each month, but I forgot. Here is another try to start a series of posts on sun signs and astrologers, to begin with the natal chart of Ada Muir.
What Gemini can do for astrology, is communicating about it. That is what Ada Muir did. She wrote books, is know for The Torch and was a member of the AFA. She was a nurse and wrote a lot about herbs and health related to astrology, too. For this, I like to point at Ceres rising before the Sun. Ceres is (among other meaning) the symbol of nutrition and motherly care. There is also a Sun in aspect with Neptune and Saturn. The Moon is also important as the Moon doesn't make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees.
Now where is astrology in her chart?
JUPITER AND URANUS
I always find an important combination of Jupiter and Uranus in the charts of astrologers. Jupiter and Uranus together reflect the helicopter view. They are also important in the charts of astronauts and a number of popes. That is because they, like astrologers, see the world and people from another perspective.
Jupiter is important in Ada Muir's chart, because Jupiter is exactly square Ascendant. Uranus is important because Uranus is 'calling' (not making aspects in 5 degrees or sign). Jupiter is semi square Uranus and biquintile the MC in Aquarius (ruled by Uranus).
So, in short: the important Jupiter and Uranus are semi square and both related to Midheaven.
MORE INDICATIONS
The Moon is 'calling' in Aquarius.
Mars is in aspect with both Jupiter and Uranus.

The chart of Pope Francis
In 'Habemus...' I wrote about the chart of Pope Francis or Papam Francisco aka Jorge Maria Bergoglio:
- Sun is 'calling' = leadership
- Mars is rising before the Sun (activism, energy)
- Sun in Sagittarius and Moon in Aquarius (like me, so that is what I like about him:)
- and Jupiter trine Uranus
so this pope will be one with a helicopter view.
Now we all know his hour of birth (9 p.m.). Here is the complete chart with transits and progressions for the day that he was elected by the cardinals in Saint Peter's in Rome (March 13, 2013):
Now that I now his hour of birth, I can add this:

Now that I now his hour of birth, I can add this:
- His Cancer Ascendant is in line with his way of doing things: the simple way.
- Pluto is important. There are no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees with Pluto. Pluto 'calls'. When Pluto is important, cases of life and death, sexuality, values, authority and stress will be important at any possible level, somehow and anyhow. Pluto is in his first house. Together with the NA Sun, Pluto shows the leading authority that he is today.
- Transit Pluto is in aspect with his Ascendant (for stress and pressure).
- Transit Pluto is also in aspect with his progressed MC (sort of a forced change in the career)
- Pholus holds an angular position in the natal chart (on the Descendant), signaling a possible important change of situation.
- Progressed Midheaven had been opposition Pholus before the election, starting a - at the time unnoticed -change in the position and status.
- Sun/Moon midpoint is square Mars. He is motivated by doing things, an activist and driven do-er.
- Sun/Moon midpoint is in Capricorn. This means that the career is important (in heart and soul someone serious and ambitious).
- AC/MC midpoint is conjunct Orcus, the symbol of oaths and promises.
- Sun and Moon are in hard aspect with midpoint Jupiter/Neptune. See the article on Astromarkt about Jupiter with Neptune Quote: t is the combination of the devoted audience and...the remedy.
What is important in the chart of this pope is the fact that he is a man drawing attention, a 'star' (Sun NA) who does things the simple way (Cancer Ascendant) even though he is ambitious and serious (Capricorn Sun/Moon). His Saturn in Pisces almost makes him feel obliged to suffer or to be lonely. Faith is serious when Saturn is in Pisces. It is a position that makes it harder to be a celebrity. Jupiter in Capricorn and Saturn in Pisces might (together) point at the conservative in the chart of Pope Francis. That seems at odds with the Aquarian Moon, but I always say that Aquarius is not the sign of happy renewal. It is the sign of change in the way that the Aquarian sees it as a must. Rick Santorum has Moon in Aquarius. Retro-progression is also change...

Rick Santorum's Aquarius Moon
When I had a look at the natal positions in the charts of Rick Santorum I noticed that Moon in Aquarius first. Did you know that Rick Santorum has the Moon in Aquarius? Aquarius, Aquarius? The man whose ideas scare off women (says the not-republican Washington Post)? And did you know that Sarah Palin (also a Conservative, like Santorum) has the Moon in Aquarius? Just like Dutch Queen Beatrix? Queen Beatrix changed the palace habits when she became queen by immediately changing the staff and the way that the queen was spoken to. Her mother said 'please call me Mrs', she said 'call me Majesty'. That is different! And different costumes, that is Moon Aquarius! (More on the similarities of the charts of Palin and Queen Beatrix, who are very different:)...
The Aquarius Moon longs to change the world in a personal way and it is not about equality, liberty or socialism. Rick Santorum's way is the masculin way. Not just because he is a man, but also because his Mars is 'calling' (see what I mean by using the link). And Mars rules his Venus (sic:).
I think that Moon in Aquarius is about the need to change habits and roles. And as a conservative there is only one way: the retro-progressive way of change, going back to the fifties, when he was born. The Stepford Wives times....?
Would that Moon explain all about Santorum's desire to keep married women in the house? There is probably more. But for now, I like to stick to the Moon in Aquarius.
PS I am sorry if the quality of the chart drawing doesn't match your standards (and mine). For some odd reason (maybe Mercury retro:) this is what I get when I upload a chart drawing.
