The Taurus astrologer in the chart of John Frawley

The combination of the helicopter view is Jupiter-Uranus. Jupiter-Uranus combinations are frequent in the charts of astronauts, modern popes and …astrologers. The chart of British astrologer John Frawley is such a good example! Here it is:

Jupiter conjunct Uranus,
Sun sextile Uranus,
Jupiter sextile Sun
Also, Jupiter and Uranus are in a wider trine with Midheaven in Scorpio.
Jupiter and Uranus are in hard aspect with Venus, too.

That is a lot of Jupiter/Uranus, and it is all connected to Pallas, the symbol of patterns.
Here is his chart, with transits and progressions, the Porphyry way.
Need one know more? Well, John Frawley is a classical astrologer.

SATURN FOR CLASSICS
He teaches traditional and horary astrology and wrote ‘The Real Astrology’ (a satirical approach of modern astrology).
Saturn doesn’t make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. His Saturn is on Midheaven. That is why Saturn is the most prominent planet in the chart. Saturn is the symbol of ‘classical’… and in this chart Saturn is ‘calling’!

John Frawley is a famous astrologer.

JUPITER PLUTO MC FOR SUCCESS
Jupiter and Pluto are in aspect with the MC, promising public success.

There is also a Jupiter-Neptune aspect, connected with the Sun, that explains the dedicated audience/students and the number of fans that he has.

TAURUS WAY
Now how does the sun sign Taurus mirror his life style? It may be in the price of a consultation  Well, isn't Taurus supposed to like making money?:) But there are more ways to demonstrate that you are a Taurus. Earlier I wrote about the correspondence between Taurus astrologers Deborah Houlding and William Lilly:

Because now I have to find out what William Lilly and Deborah Houlding share. I found this site (http://www.skyscript.co.uk/pdf/CA_preface.pdf ) with Lilly's 'Christian Astrology' retyped and with comments of Deborah Houlding. Perhaps that it is the continuity of working on that basic material that demonstrates the fixed and earth side of Taurus?
Now I can add John Frawley (also recommending Lilly's Christian Astrology): Taurus and continuity of working on basic material.

PS
It is his 60st birthday today and there are a 3 transits of Pluto with his natal and progressed chart.
1. Pluto is conjunct Progressed Midheaven,
2. Pluto is inconjunct natal Mercury and
3. Pluto is conjunct natal Ascendant.
Transits of Pluto might be more disturbing if you are not a traditional astrologer, but what if there are 3 of them? This usually means: challenges and stress.
Perhaps that was (only) because of the failing website? On April 21, 2015 he wrote:'My website's come  back to life'. Interesting that Pluto is the symbol of come backs, crisis and matters of life and death...:)

Innovative science; Jupiter-Uranus + Mercury-Saturn

Today I read about Leslie Dewan, born November 27, 1984 and already a celebrated scientist. She is one of the two co-founders of Transatomic Power - innovative way to use nuclear waste for clean and safe energy-. Now what if that could be a success?

In astrology innovations are part of the vocabulary related to Jupiter+Uranus and science is Mercury + Saturn.
Dr Dewan's  chart is in line with that.

There are keys (Jupiter-Uranus) to being innovative, surprising or 'different' in a positive way:
1. Sun in Sagittarius with Moon in Aquarius. Sagitturius is ruled by Jupiter, Aquarius is ruled by Uranus. This combination of Sun and Moon adds to a helicopter view.
2. This goes with Jupiter semi sextile Uranus for innovations, sudden windfalls and a helicopter view

Mercury and Saturn (the combination of science) are special.
3. Mercury and Saturn are  'calling' (not making narrow aspects in sign) for science
4. Saturn rises before the Sun (the classics, status and management come first)
5. Mercury is Out of Bounds (declination 25°42' 6" S), just like Moon and Venus

So, on that particular day in 1984, there was a big chance for a scientist to be innovative! It doesn't mean that everybody born that day was to be a scientist, but whatever that person does will be serious and ambitious and somehow innovative, surprising or 'different' in a positive way. It very much depends on the hour of birth and circumstances, genes, culture and social position in whAt way...

dHere is the chart for that day:

Phrenology and Jupiter-Uranus

Yesterday I watched the comedy 'Hysteria'. One of the characters was a phrenologist. A what???Google and Wikipedia helped me on the way. Now I found the date of birth of Franz Joseph Gall, the first phrenologist.

Phrenology was considered a science and part of psychology. By examining the head the phrenologist could tell the character (and future) of someone. Bump feeling, yes? That is amazing, isn't it?

On this blog you find a number of examples of astrologers with either Jupiter/Uranus midpoint-Sun combinations or aspects of the Sun with Jupiter AND Uranus or ...well: with Jupiter and Uranus, the symbols of the helicopter view, helping them to get involved in astrology. Now I found the date of birth of Franz Joseph Gall, the first phrenologist. Phrenology was considered a science and part of psychology. By examining the head the phrenologist could tell the character (and future) of someone. That is amazing, isn't it?

Jupiter/Uranus is inventive. So was Franz Joseph Gall, I presume. Here is the chart of the day that he was born.

Gemini Astrologer Alice Ann Bailey

Alice Ann Bailey wrote about 30 books on various ancient subjects and was an occult (esoteric) astrologer. With Jupiter/Uranus midpoint conjunct Sun, and both Jupiter and Uranus connected with Midheaven, she has a key to astrology. Her MC-routing ends in Mercury ruler 3, her Sun is in Gemini and her Moon is in the 3rd house. This all leads to writing.

In the time of Alice Ann Bailey, there was much interest in the occult. Maybe she was triggered to study this subject by the 'calling' Virgo Moon, ruling the 12th house. Neptune square and Pluto quintile the Ascendant help to create the right atmosphere for mystery. I can imagine that her Gemini Sun was curious enough to have a look...

The Sagittarius astrologer: Olivia Barclay

In the series of astrologers by sun sign I like to present the chart of Olivia Barclay, a horary and classical astrologer and designer who was born December 12, 1919 and died in 2001.  Her Sagittarius Sun semi sesquisquare Uranus in Aquarius and trine Jupiter represents the Jupiter-Uranus link that I find in almost all charts of astrologers. Her progressed chart for 1980 has the progressed Sun exactly in hard aspect with the midpoint Jupiter/Uranus. That is when she started her study of Lilly.

The classical theme and TIME (horary) is presented by Saturn, calling*)! In the 2nd house and semi square her Sun/Moon midpoint. Design is mirrored by the Moon sextile Venus and half semi square Neptune, trine MC (with Venus opposition MC). There is a prominent Jupiter on the Ascendant, ruling the 5th house. Speculative/predictive advice?

Now in what way was Olivia Barclay a typical Sagittarian astrologer? Almost all astrologers either publish or teach or do consultations. That is maybe enough '9th house stuff' for a Sagittarius. This astrologer also founded a correspondence course for prediction using horary astrology.  Here is her chart (click to enlarge):

Also visit: Astromarkt.net about Jupiter-Uranus: http://www.astromarkt.net/jupiter-in-aspect-with-uranus.html Perhaps one of the reasons why Jupiter-Uranus is so frequently found in the charts of astrologers is that they use to give advice or teach (Jupiter) about astrology and it's techniques (Uranus).

*) Calling means : no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees

Cosmic awareness and: Yuri Lonchakov quits

Astronaut Yuri Lonchakov resigned. He said he found a better job. Let us see about the transits and progressions for now and let's find the 'helicopter view' or 'cosmic awareness' in his natal chart of March 4, 1965.

JUPITER-URANUS
The combination of Jupiter-Uranus is the combination of cosmic awareness (the helicopter view, seeing things from a higher perspective). That is why this combination is so prominent in the charts of astronauts, astrologers and some modern popes.  It's not different in the chart of Russian astronaut Yuri Lonchakov. His natal Sun in Pisces is opposition Uranus and in minor aspect with Jupiter (a 67.5 degree half sesquisquare aspect).

URANUS-PLUTO
Saturn rises before his Sun and is conjunct Sun. First of all he is ambitious, cautious and serious. That is hardly in line with the hectic and impulsive Uranus-Pluto conjunction. But, right now Uranus is square Pluto. It is a wake-up call for the natal aspect. It is time for a change...

PLUTO = MARS/URANUS
Lonchakov's Pluto is on the midpoint Mars/Uranus. He was born with Uranus conjunct Pluto. Both Uranus and Pluto are opposition his natal Sun. These aspects tell us about urgency, turbulence and sudden measures. Maybe it is also the kind of aspect combination for a man who needs some stressy, risky and new excitement from time to time.

T&P
Progressed Mars is opposition Saturn: there is a dead end (he quit)
Transit Pholus is square Node: there is a turning point in his network
The Progressed Sun changed sign to Taurus: his life style changed
Transit Neptune is conjunct Venus: there is some kind of financial or romantic thing going on
Transit Uranus is conjunct progressed Mercury: accelerated decision making (a sudden idea), unusual  decision. (In the progressed chart Mercury is inconjunct Uranus)

This all doesn't explain why he said that he found something more exciting to do. But it certainly shows that what he said (Mercury) surprised others (Uranus) when he stopped (Saturn) working (Mars).

One more Cancer astrologer

I know Adrian Duncan as the author of World of Wisdom, a program that I bought many years ago, also for the colorful chart drawings. Unfortunately, I use Apple products now, so that I can't show you a chart with these colors.

Here is something on the astrology in his chart for 11:46 on a Sunday July 17, 1949 in York, England (by Astrodatabank). I am glad to see a Jupiter-Uranus combination in this chart again, because IMO that most astrologers have that. It is in the chart of Adrian Duncan like this:

1. Uranus is conjunct MC (a prominent position). Jupiter is in minor aspect with Midheaven (157.5 d = half semi square + sesquisquare). MC with Jupiter and Uranus is one of the indications for having a helicopter view just like astronauts, some popes and many astrologers.

2. Jupiter is opposition Sun and Sun is half semi square (a 22.5d aspect) Uranus. Here we have the Sun-Jupiter-Uranus mixture!

3. Moon is opposite midpoint Jupiter/Uranus: good intuition, says Reinhold Ebertin in his famous book Combination of Stellar Influences (COSI). That is a third Jupiter-Uranus combination!

Three times ought to be enough. But there is more:
4. Uranus is the most important planet in the chart. Uranus is elevated, conjunct MC, and rising before Sun and Mercury. Uranus is the planet of techniques. As Jupiter has a special position in the planet pattern of the chart. Having an important Jupiter + Uranus contributes to the pattern that suits an astrologer.

It is his birthday now. Here is the chart with progressions and transits.

Transits: Jupiter (trine MC), Saturn (trine MC), Neptune (trine MC), Vesta (inconjunct IC) and Pholus (quindecile MC) are in tight minor and major aspect with his Midheaven. In the progressed chart the Sun is almost exactly trine Pholus.
Such a lot of transits with the meridian, together with Pholus could mean that a change is being prepared or made. Perhaps a domestic change, perhaps in the professional field. I bet that he knows best what it means!:)

Another lucky winner's chart

Like a lot of people I’m interested in lottery winners and their charts. Not just to see if I make a chance, but also to see what their charts have in common. I have already studied a few of these charts (see Astromarkt: http://www.astromarkt.net/astrology-and-winning-lottery.html) and I noticed that there are a number of similarities in the natal charts of lottery winners. The most important was that they all have midpoint - or aspect combinations of Sun, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune. As Jupiter-Uranus is the combination of the sudden windfall, this must be the key aspect. Jupiter-Neptune is the combination of speculations. And that is not all. A lucky fixed star and a lot of trines complete the picture.

This new lucky lottery winner’s chart was provided by Astro.com and has an A-rating. We see the same kind of combinations in the natal chart as in the charts of the earlier study. Have a look:

1. Just like the other winners he has a Jupiter-Uranus-Neptune combination (Sun square Jupiter and square Uranus and biquintile Neptune). This is a combination for those with hope, believing in sudden change. Probably that is what it takes to buy a ticket!

2. There is more. He has a prominent Mars in Sagittarius (opposition Midheaven), mirroring the Mars-Jupiter aspects of the other lucky winners (a positive attitude?).

3. Also, ruler 5 (Saturn) is in the 9th house. The combination of the houses 5 and 9 are just as lucky as the combination of Sun and Jupiter. This relationship between 5 and 9 is important. On the day of the lottery transit Jupiter on the 5-9 Saturn resonated the natal lucky position.

And I like to add that the midpoint Jupiter/Uranus is square the midpoint Quaoar/Pholus. This happens to all persons born in the same week and can’t be more than an addition. More individual: Venus/Jupiter midpoint on Midheaven promises social advancement.

On the lucky day we see more than just one lucky aspect! Here they are:

1. A 5-9 houses combination
Transit Jupiter was conjunct ruler 5, Saturn. Remember that the 9th and 5th houses are the lucky houses? The fifth house is the house of games! This is the transit that resonated the natal 5-9 relationship.

2. A Uranus influence for surprising change
2 a Transit Uranus opposition the progressed AC/MC: surprise, excitement!

2.b Progressed AC/MC = natal Sun/Moon to indicate an important development regarding motivation and life style.

2.c Transit Uranus is also opposition Sun/Moon (an indication of sudden change).

3. Joy!
Transit Venus and transit Jupiter were inconjunct Moon to indicate an extreme joy. Transit Neptune trine Moon makes it a fairy tale lucky moment.

4. More change…
Transit Pholus inconjunct MC and semi sextile Moon: a joyful turning point that completely alters the position.

5. More fortune and joy…
5.a Progressed Jupiter square the Sun (on his way): fortune ahead…

5.b Progressed Sun 75 degrees from Venus is a minor aspect that tells us about a wish coming true.

6. He won on a day with transit Sun opposition his Jupiter (oh happy dayJ.

There are even more aspects, but it seems enough to mention the above.

So, you have to have a lucky natal chart AND lucky transits/progressions. And that's not all. In order to win millions you need to buy a ticket at the right moment. This lucky winner did that. That makes him what he is: a lucky winner.

PS Now I wonder about partners winning a lottery. Does it take two lucky winners’ charts and two very fortunate progressed charts and transits if you are married? Because if one chart is up and the other one is down (read that post...) how can they both be lucky winners...

Pretty nice example

Just like statistics astrology doesn't 'work' the other way. There are a lot of influences (gender, social level, age and more) making differences. But sometimes charts 'strike'.
Yesterday I was in a perfume store where a lady (I estimated her age around 70) was buying make-up and cream. She was well dressed, had lipstick and mascara on, a nice powdered face and...she was proud to mention her date of birth (in order to get a customer's card). I noticed that it was March 5, 1923 and decided to have a look to see how the chart corresponded with this 88 year old lady's need to look good. Her chart (below) is a pretty nice example of how astrology works sometimes:)!

  • Her Venus doesn't make major aspects (like a trine or a square) in sign or orb 5 degrees (that makes it a 'calling' Venus for beauty and charm at any possible level, somehow, anyhow, because this person is looking for kindness and sympathy).
  • Her Moon is in Libra for the need for beauty, charm and decoration.
  • Sun conjunct Uranus and Uranus rising  before the Sun: that is what I have seen more often in the charts of those who reach an old age and keep their vitality (like the pope).
  • Sun in aspect with Jupiter and Uranus is one of the combinations which are frequent in the charts of the very old, too. It is a positive one!
  • Sun biquintile Saturn for a creative way to live with restrictions and ...age!

Because of her Sun Pisces, Moon Libra, calling Venus and Venus-Uranus semi square she might have been a dancer when she was young (an artist perhaps).
It was just an observation and a date, but I found what I expected to find: a lady who is young at heart and who likes the world and herself to look good corresponding with more than a few indications for vitality and charm.
And I also found this picture of a magical mirror (Louvre collection) on Wiki Commons. This mirror was used in the 12th Century in Iran to 'predict the future'. Now that is forbidden in Iran...Watch the astrological signs...

Winter Solstice chart

The narrowest aspect in the Winter Solstice chart of 2011 is the applying trine between Sun and Jupiter. That is rather nice, this symbol of prosperity, even though the next one is Mars square Pholus (a turning point in a battle). In a way this Winter Solstice chart could point at growing hope and risky competition or aggression at the same time. If this was the chart of an individual, there would be self confidence and (because of that) growing prospects together with a tendency to take risks that could cause injuries. But only if this person was a military man or in a country at war or a later young lad who lives in the kind of neighborhood where one needs to fight to keep standing.
Zeus/Jupiter is the symbol of moving forward
A Sun trine Jupiter is a jolly good aspect for a day (or 3), but the Sun moves on and so do we. Last year's Jupiter conjunct Uranus gave hope, but 2011 showed us revolutions that ended in question marks and economic ups and downs that after all brought us all at a lower level. The Sun is trine Jupiter and square Uranus on December 22. That is just like last year again a picture of hope. We can only hope that this time Jupiter-Uranus will bring us sudden windfall and relief and not just the hope for it. The expectations of 2012 are very law and there are even ideas about the world's end. Every era has those kind of ideas, but let us face it: there is a world economy in trouble and the West begins to loose the competition with developing countries like India and China. In my country thousands face the end of their job. It won't be easy in 2012, they say, but I wonder about March 12, 2012.

On the 12th of March 2012 Jupiter in Taurus will be trine Pluto in Capricorn. Sounds like growing profit and success in the material world. Sounds like a good beginning of spring. Is that just hope?...I hope not. Last time there was good news about the Euro and the market went up with Jupiter trine Pluto. So...perhaps this will happen again. But just like Sun trine Jupiter this aspect will be over and gone in a few days. And few of us will benefit from stocks rising...

I don't know what to think of this years Winter Solstice chart. The world is not homogeneous. People are different and so are countries and economies. But all human beings want to have hope for the years to come. In that sense it is great to see that there is still hope in the charts of astrological and calendar charts of importance. Hope keeps us going, so let us keep hope!

BIRTHDAY OF JULIA L. PARKER
A chart with a prominent Neptune and Pluto

Julia L. Parker wrote several books about astrology. What in her chart screams 'astrology'?

She was born July 27 1932 in Plymouth, 17:00 hours. Neptune is calling0) and on top of her chart. That reminds me: she is an expert in explaning dreams. Pluto is oriental. And here we got Neptune/Pluto for the paranormal field.

JUPITER AND URANUS
Uranus is 112.5 d away from Sun/Jupiter'; Jupiter semi square Uranus/MC and Uranus is opposition the Sagittarius Ascendant. Here you got 3 Jupiter-Uranus connnections. And Jupiter is trine Uranus. That completes the rule of 3!:) I have not seen an astrologer without the Jupiter-Uranus-combination, yet.
