Transit Pluto inconjunct Pluto (and Mario Draghi (EU))

When you are about age 67 (more or less) transit Pluto will be inconjunct your natal Pluto and challenge or stress your left over potential and strength. It is when you loose some of your authority. Often people quit their job or stop their business (at least, in Europe) at that age. This happenes to the generation of 1947 this year and it will happen to me in 2018. If your Pluto is in aspect with personal planets, an angle or Sun or Moon (either in the birth chart or in the progressed chart) it may have a more specific or special meaning.

An inconjunct of Pluto is often a sign of a price to pay, having to give in and loose power, lack of balance when it comes to values and authority or … winning, BUT not without pain or challenges. I remember a Pluto inconjunct Mars of a sports man who was completely exhausted and gave up his career (sport=Mars). Hilary Clinton will have this transit Pluto inconjunct her possible ruler 1 in the months before the 2016 elections, causing exhaustion and stress. So she’d better prepare.

These kind of transits happen to all of us one day, just like the Saturn transit cycle. They remind you of your age and time running out. Nothing special, usually, but it is a transit to consider when you are or want to be in a position of authority or as a winner or when lots of money are involved.

I have two Dutch examples. A TV reporter in a late night show stopped his late night activities and the final show was with transit Pluto exactly inconjunct his Pluto. Then we have the great coach Guus Hiddink. With transit Pluto inconjunct Pluto there were question marks regarding the results of  the Dutch team and the rumors were that he was getting too old for the job.

More dangerous is, that Mario Draghi, who is in charge of the European Central Bank and whose progressed Sun is square Saturn now, faces transit Pluto inconjunct his Pluto right now in the week of Greek elections when there are to make decisions about a possible Grexit (exit of Greece, with the loss of billions of Euros for all countries participating in helping Greece stay in the EU). The inconjunction doesn’t promise a rose garden... Things might be too difficult and too complicated. Here is the chart of his day of birth with transits and progressions:

This situation is in line with the chart of Europe (see: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2014/05/europas-birth-chart-and-elections.html ). I quote myself:

However, transit Neptune will be conjunct progressed Sun in 2015. It is a very undermining aspect that will be accompanied by the inconjunct Sun-Uranus.
Pluto is part of the word 'Plutocracy'...meaning the power of wealth (and as you see on the picture above wealth comes with power, too:). With Pluto, you pay (and you pay less when you are rich enough:).

The Pluto-MC renovation

Next week my house will be upside down. The old kitchen will have to make place for a new one. That sounds simple, but it isn’t. Things got more complicated due to an inflammatory condition of my lungs, the start of pneumonia. (Not bad enough to stop me from blogging…)

The chart says:
- Progressed MC opposition(
- transit Mars conjunct Neptune ruler 1 on the eve of the works

This happens shortly after Progressed Moon square Pluto (and transit Saturn involved in this). This also happens right after Mars square Sun/Moon and transit Saturn opposition progressed Moon. And yes, Venus is retrograde, but she wasn't mid November, when the kitchen was bought. I think that Pluto has the starring role now.

When Pluto is around, it becomes difficult, complicated and challenging. How else can you have the promised stress?:) In my case the aspects are even more important. That is because I have an exact natal trine between MC and Pluto, ruler 8 in 6.  So, MC-Pluto lands in fruitful ground and as an astrologer, I am happy to see how the symbols correspond with my condition. Still, I have some objectionsJ

Time, money and schedules. Every renovation has time and money complications. Ours, too.
We tried to call, mail, SMS and write to the builders, contractors and renovators in vain, for weeks, starting mid November. They kept us in the dark about prices and schedules. Pluto is for the price to pay and I had no idea that I would follow the footsteps of all those renovating families on TV and have to add 25%.

There is also more work to be done than expected. And why do I have all that stuff? They say that it is good to throw away something old when you buy something new (or better, to start cleaning in order to make place). Yes, I threw away things that I hadn't used in 15 years! I recently cleaned and organized the garage, too. But somehow it is full again! It just happens… With Pluto, you have to go to the bottom of it (and right now 80% of the floor is occupied).

The latest complication is my health (starting pneumonia, more seriously if the medication - Prednison, for example - fails).  A couple of days ago - transit Mars and Saturn-Moon - we caught a virus. After that I couldn't breath like I used to. I have to avoid any dust next week (and wonder how!). So now I am rather tired and in bed a lot, hoping for better times soon.

Next year Progressed MC will be opposition natal Pluto (and no more other Pluto's). I hope that it will be about the bathroom…and only the bathroom.

Renovations… It is just supposed to be fun with a happy end and it probably will.

Question:
When you renovated (part of) your house, did you have a Pluto progression or transit?

Example of 5 times transit Pluto at once

Today I had the sad opportunity to see how transit Pluto changes the life of someone close. She went to see the  cardiologist because she was tired and had a strange feeling on the chest. What happend was that he found an almost completely closed coronary artery.  He placed a stent. This was exactly what she was afraid of. And it was with 5 transits of Pluto:

  • Pluto conjunct her Sun
  • Pluto conjunct her Moon
  • Pluto conjunct her midpoint Sun/Moon
  • Pluto inconjunct het progressed Descendant
  • Pluto opposite Ceres (heart issurs are in  the family)

All 5 transits were within less than 0,5 degree orb...

Those transits were accompanied by:
Transit Chiron (healer/pain) conjunct progressed Sun.
Transit Saturn inconjunct progressed IC

And:
Very soon transit Saturn will be square MC and inconjunct Progressed IC

All three (Pluto, Chiron and Saturn) are hitting the lights and the angles, the key points in the chart.
It is the reflection of dangerous, changing and hard times. The 8th is involved, too. Pluto is in the progressed 8th house. She is safe in hospital tonight and her family hopes for her safe return home, feeling better.

Question is now: is transit Pluto reflecting the surgery (and in a way that saved her life...)? Or did the conjunctions mean that she is starting a difficult period in life, with medication and in the 'survival' mode?

Transit Pluto is always complicated. As an astrologer, you see it coming and all you can do is make a wish that this force is WITH the person and not against. Even if transit Pluto is considered to be helping you get rid of a problem, it is still difficult to deal with. May this force with be you:)!

With transit Pluto conjunct Sun something in your life might be destroyed. A vital problem will be highlighted and action is needed. Sometimes your life or lifestyle is in danger or health issues demand action. Physical challenges, a problem with an authority or enemies force you to be strong and brave. You will have to learn to live with problems and forces beyond yourself, often related to life and death*) issues. Stress is with you, all along the period of the transit.

Transit Pluto with the Moon intensifies emotions and habits/needs. Getting back to usual (at home) is difficult and challenging with such an aspect, even if it is a trine (though you might feel stronger than ever).  It often gives stress at home or in the family. Sometimes this is because of a family problem or a memorable event regarding life and death. Michael Moore had this transit after his chemo therapy (and with his son in jail).

The Pluto trine transit

On September 12,  2012 there were elections in my country and the winner had transit Pluto trine Ascendant on the very day of the elections. Pluto with a trine often reflects winning. This transit doesn't say that it will be easy, after winning. Instead, you face a lot of challenges. This liberal PM has to try to work together with the socialists and their first challenge is how to pay for all the debts.

I have another example, also of a politician. On September 25, the chairman of the Dutch parlement was chosen by the members and the winner was a woman who's Northern Node (symbol of a group or party or nation) was trine transit Pluto. That is another winner with Pluto's trine! The day after she was confronted with political problems (curious? http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archives/2012/09/confusion_as_queen_is_invited.php ).

But what about 'civilians'? I went back in history to see when I had transit Pluto trine Ascendant.
When I had transit Pluto trine Ascendant I was not in any kind of competition.

Pluto is reflecting force, strenght, intensity, profit, power and politics. Politicians may win with an exact transit of Pluto.

Pluto is also mirroring stress. The Pluto trine is like a big waving flag on life's path or on someone's horizon. But perhaps that is when the race is starting?

Chart of Princess Diana

PRINCESS DIANA's chart is the chart of a well known divorced and early deceased royal wedded wife. The chart should indicate trouble in marriage and status and perhaps also the accident that ended her life. Does it? The chart data: born 1st July 1961 at 19h45 in Sandringham, married 29th June 1981, eldest child William born 26th May 1982. Diana died caused by an accident on 31st August 1997.

A WELL KNOWN MARRIED WOMAN
Diana was known for her marriage. She shortly worked with little children. You can find that in the aspect of the dispositor of the MC with the Moon in the third house. She has the MC in Libra in the 22nd degree, a degree of carelessly and without much effort becoming rich (or... through marriage...). Probably that was her ambition: to do a good marriage. There are several indications for that.
1. Six (midpoint) Yods! These yods point at important issues.
2. Nine midpoint combinations indicating success.
3. Tree of the midpoint combinations are on Zero Aries! (Venus/Jupiter, Venus/Neptune, Jupiter/Neptune, variying on the theme of Venus/Jupiter/Neptune that I found in the charts of those doing a fortunate marriage).
4. There is also a small trine. Jupiter disposes of the first house and is connecting several yods. Pluto is on top of the chart. Jupiter and Pluto are in aspect. The Jupiter-Pluto combinations indicates ambition and success and challenges. The MC in Libra also points at the importance of beauty, grace or diplomacy in her public function. At the same time it indicates that her goal is to find balance, peace and cooperation.

CINDERELLA
Pluto is on top in the 7th degree of Virgo, a degree of the Cinderella complex. The picture Janduz had is that of a man and a woman, who is in the pillory. An arrogant Madame de Pompadour looks down on them and a poor woman is being shy on the side. Diana was the princess of the common people, the simple lady and the rich woman in the pillory. The Cinderella complex shown in Pluto on top in that 7th degree of Virgo. According to Janduz you need to leave the world of glamour behind with this degree in prominence.

RELATIONS
Unfortunately Venus, ruler of the MC and strong in Taurus, is afflicted. These hard aspects point at the divorces. They are: Venus semi square Sun, Venus square Moon, Venus square Uranus (!). Also Mercury, ruler 7, is inconjunct Jupiter, ruler 1. Enough indications to assume that in her life and culture there must be a divorce.

Her ex, Charles, has Saturn in his second house of money, almost exactly conjunct her prominent Pluto (the Cinderella complex joins his status). He gave her status and money and he could take it away, too. A connection between Saturn and Pluto in a relationship is not easy and indicates traumatic divorces because both are linked to status and authority, to money and blame. Is not it typical that Charles was blamed and he has Saturn in this relationship, while she had Pluto (and died).

At the time of the marriage Venus trined her progressed ascendant and was conjunct her Cinderella-Pluto!. She looked fabulous that day and must have felt being appreciated and acknowledged. Venus was fulfilling a heart desire! There was also Jupiter and Saturn square the progressed Ascendant and Transit Saturn trine Jupiter: she was moving.

But...the most important aspect around the marriage was: Transit Pluto on the MC and semi square Pluto. A difficult time started. She had to see to maintain her position or gain her proper place and meet challenges. Exactly that what she valued most in life (sex, power, money and influence, Pluto on top!) added the other side of Pluto: problems, enemies, changes for worse, being forced to do things you do not like. And her Sun changed sign! Another way of living! About 5 weeks later the Moon trined the Sun in the 7th house. The honeymoon was over and they started to live together. And even before Wiliam was born Sun Arc Jupiter was conjunct Moon and Progressed Jupiter semi square the ascendant. Transit Venus squared natal Moon at the time of birth. These are common aspects for having a first baby and being happy with it.

So it seems there were problems from the start, but she decided to go on and experienced happy moments. Yes, her chart does not only show bad times!

GROWING IN SOCIETY
Jupiter opposed to Sun/Mars, Jupiter opposed to Sun/Node and Jupiter opposed to Mercury/Pluto: these are tree midpoint Yods with the finger pointing at Jupiter, ruler of the first house. Pluto is also making a midpoint Yod: exactly at Venus/Ascendant (being loved by many). Also the MC has a midpoint Yod with Sun/Jupiter! There are supportive midpoint combinations for success also, like f.ex. Moon semi square Jupiter/Ascendant, Venus sesquisquare Jupiter/Ascendant, etc.etc.

Look at the Yod involving Jupiter (1), Mercury (7) and Pluto (12) connected with each other in sextiles: a fatal marriage? She had the ambition to marry rich and had five midpoint Yods at the time to become a princess and royal mother, apart from lots of other indications.

CHARACTER: WILFULNESS and NEEDING A LOT OF LOVE
Diana is a mixed type of earth and water (introvert, easily concerned and bothered). The Sun in Cancer, Moon in Aquarius and both of the rulers of Sun and Moon are in opposition! There is hysteria, but also clairvoyancy and foresight. Cancer Sun is emotional. Moon in Aquarius looks indifferent sometimes or tries to stay reasonable. But the emotions and experiences Diana had, were rather special. The T-square of Moon and Venus and Uranus is repeated tree times in midpoint combinations! Love affairs, falling in love over and over again, and sometimes motherhood out of marriage are part of the meanings this combinations might have.
The chart of Diana does not show a victim. It shows that she chose her own ways of doing things, and that she needed a lot of love.

INDIRECT
There is a significant lack of aspects with the ascendant. It means she was not very direct in the way she acted. Or she did things through others, or deviously. Her way of looking and acting could have nothing to do with what she felt inside. And on the other hand each event could have deep impact, because there were no ways to deal with it and give it direction and a place. It seems she was the play ball of events and situations and had little grip on it.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS, DANGER
Mercury and Venus are oriental (as is the case with most of us) but so it the Moon. The Moon is walking away with her: emotions walk away with her. Moon is afflicted in the 3rd house of communications and transport and rules the 8th house of sex, life and death and other people's money. The main afflictions are with Mars (conjunct Pluto) and through the translation of light with the Node connected with Uranus. All in the ninth house of other countries, travel and publicity. For the accident we see even more clues. Mars, Uranus, Pluto close together in the equal ninth house of travelling. Afflicted Moon in 3. Ruler 8 in 3 opposed to planets in 9. Node exactly opposed to the midpoint Uranus/Pluto (radical relations, accidents together with others). And the supposed to (and always present) Vulcanus is almost exactly opposed to the midpoint Ascendant/MC.

ACCIDENT
When she died there were these aspects:
Transit Uranus conjunct ruler 1 Jupiter (mostly a 'thank God'relief aspect, but in transit an alarming signal) ;
Tansit Jupiter opposed to Progressed Sun (being happy, but with some side notes);
Transit Uranus opposed to Progressed Mercury (nervous aspect, indicating the plan to speed ahead and connected to accidents involving 'hurrying' and technical problems);
SunArc Pluto square Mars/Vulcanus (a life in danger)
; Transit Mars septile Vulcanus (another indication for danger).
There are no transits involving the ascendant or MC except when you make a correction in birth time towards 19h46m22 (not unreasonable). Then the primary ascendant is sesquisquare Plyot and the progressed Mars is exactly moving from the ninth into the eight house. That is why I think she was born 80 seconds later than officially mentioned in her birth certificate.
In the lunar chart previous of her death Saturn is on the descendant and Neptune, ruler 4, is on her IC. The strange thing is converse progressed Sun is exactly trine natal Jupiter, conv. progr. Uranus is inconjunct Pluto and conv. Progr. Saturn is almost exactly opposed to the natal Moon, ruler 8.

All ingredients of the conjunction of Mars, Uranus and Pluto in the birth chart are mixed up that dramatic day!

Diana was not driving and had no influence on the events at all. Still I think the transits and progressions for the accident are not plenty. Only her rush and taking risks can be found and maybe that is just her share in the event.

MORE PLUTO
Pluto is on top with Venus/Ascendant for the power of being beautiful and being married. Pluto is disposing the 12th house of discretion and secrets and in the 9th house of publishing. Pluto is part of the Yod with Jupiter and of the small tine with Sun and Neptune . Diana was an idol (Sun-Neptune effect) and that was even more so after she died (Pluto). Pluto is semi square the MC. So her position was in a negative way related to life and death, money and power and sex...A lot of people already seem to have forgotten that in the beginning the gossip magazines did not stop talking about the way Diana and Sarah Fergusson were spending heavy lots of money!
And that brings us back to Pluto on top in a Cinderella degree... (c) http://astropost.blogspot.com

Sun/Moon/Pluto midpoint combinations

Sun/Moon is the midpoint of motivations. With Pluto you are motivated by money, power, influence and the more challenging things in life (danger, life and death)...You need or live in a world of challenge and stress. Perhaps the person with Sun/Moon/Pluto combinations in the chart suffered from a traumatic event. That might cause a state of constant alert. Here are some examples:

  • Anne Frank with Sun semi square Moon/Pluto will be remembered because of the fact that she died too young in Nazi time.
  • Jacqueline Kennedy with Moon square Sun/Pluto will be remembered because of the death of her young husband.
  • Grace Kelly (Princess Gracia) had Sun opposition Moon/Pluto (a midpoint yod with the Sun as the apex). Her death shocked the world.
  • David Koresh had Sun square Moon/Pluto.
  • If the chart of Hugo Chavez is the correct chart, he has Sun/Moon with Uranus and Sun with Moon/Pluto. The Sun/Moon combination with Uranus and Pluto easily leads to radicalism. There would be a situation of stress and nervous problems, too.
  • Tony Blair and Prince Andrew have Sun in hard aspect with Moon/i
  • Terry Schiavo's husband has Sun sesquisquare Moon/Pluto and dealt with the tragedy of his wife's situation (in non-reversal coma and not allowed to die).
Sun/Moon and Pluto motivates by means of values, policy's or strategy, sometimes by force. The need to be strong, powerful or rich is apparent and that is because money or force could bring in vital changes. In a less extreme situation Sun/Moon/Pluto midpoint combinations are challenging for family life and marriage. Problems between man and woman could be inherent to this combination and require (at least) therapy. When Venus is part of the combination, those problems could be money problems.

I don't have a famous example of Sun/Moon with Pluto, but on Astromarkt (article about Sun/Moon, progressions and transits) you find this:
Michael Douglas has transit Pluto semi square Sun/Moon, following the transit of Saturn over Sun and Moon and midpoint Sun/Moon. We all know about his challenging period right now (trying to conquer cancer).
Pluto on Sun/Moon shows that you need strength and courage.

Michael Douglas' son is in jail and his wife had therapy while he had treatment for cancer. This was indeed an intense and difficult time for him. When you were born with Sun/Moon/Pluto you might have experienced a problem at the beginning of life. The fact that you survived made you more vulnerable and yet stronger, because you value life more than others do. That is the impact of a dwarf planet, Pluto.

Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen and Pluto

Tomorrow, just a few minutes after posting this (starting on Friday September 10, 2010) there is Magnus Carlsen vs the World on Internet. Here is the link to where you can try to beat him:). ..

Chess prodigy Magnus Carlsen was born on November 30, 1990, just like Antoine N'Gossan, an Ivorian football midfielder and the Swedish football player of Beninese decent, Yosif Ayuba. Tactics and strategy are necessary in chess, football and politics. These qualities are represented by
Pluto.

Pluto is important in the chart of these three men. Pluto is the planet of orientation (the planet that rises before the Sun) on November 30, 1990. It means that tactics and strategy (and winning!) come first...
The importance of Pluto for his career is shown by the progression/transit at age 13, when Magnus Carlsen became a Grandmaster. That was with transit Pluto conjunct Progressed Sun (in a year of transformation and challenges)...

Continue for the other qualities in the chart of November 30, 1990 and see the links to more about Sun-Pluto and another prodigy.

Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott: authority and rebellion

There is no clear result after the elections in Australia, where the (left wing) socialist Gillard and the (right wing) liberal Abbott were trying to become the next Prime Minister. The result of the elections is that the keys are in the hand of smaller parties, like the Green and that it takes more than one party for a government. The transits and progressions are almost just as unclear. The hours of birth of the candidates are unknow, too.

The charts of the days of birth are those of an authority and a believing rebel.
Julia Gillard is the PM of Australia and she has the chart of the authority. Her time unknown chart reveals why she is a politician. Pluto is prominent. On her day of birth Pluto, the planet of strategy, power, influence, money and politics, was rising before the Sun (in other words: Pluto was oriental or orientational if you like). That also means that she seems to know the right persons...and to be 'playing chess', like having elections at the right moment:).
If she was born in the late afternoon or evening (later than 14:00 hours), the Sun would be 'calling' and indicate leadership and drawing attention, somehow, anyhow*). That is why I posted this 18:00 hours chart. It is just a time and not the official or estimated birth time! Continue to read about her chart and Tony Abbott's....

Plutonic aspects in the Spanish royal family

The Spanish King and his son have transits and progressions with Pluto. Crown Princess Letizia also has ' signs of transformation and change' in her chart, but it seems to be another kind of challenge...
Pluto is refleting power and authority, too. Today, the royal power of Juan Carlos was given to his son, because King Juan Carlos had a - successful- long surgery (see the news). This happened with transit Pluto semisquare natal Ascendant and progressed Ascendant conjunct Pluto. More transits and progressions are accompanying this (see the list*).

For a few hours Felipe was ' in charge' . Today Felipe has two Plutonic transis/progressions:
1. transit Pluto on the Descendant and
2. the progressed Sun opposition Pluto.
It seems to be a time of problems, stress and challenges for both father and son.
Crown Princess Letizia, will also ' meet' Pluto soon (transit Pluto inconjunct progressed Ascendant). It seems that her transformation is of another kind: beauty surgery and the dentist!

BEAUTY SURGERY AND PHOTO SHOPPING (?)
The wife of Felipe, Letizia, has progressed Midheaven oppositon Venus (question of esthetics and beauty). Her progressed Sun recently changed sign (life or lifestyle changing) and is trine transit Chiron, the healer. Also transit Pholus is exactly sextile her Mars (turning point in competition) and transit Pluto will soon be inconjunct her progressed Ascendant (defending or changing your circumstances with a certain lost or unbalance).. You see that there is a matter of beauty, change and stress in her chart. And in her solar return chart for this year, Quaoar is on Midheaven: a year with a new perspective or creating new concepts in her career and public position (or a new image being created...).
It seems that the royal couple had a photo shopped official photo and that Letizia had her nose and teeth ‘ done’ lately. Maybe that explains the changes, challenges and the opposition of Venus! See the photoshop picture here.

PS About Felipe and Letizia:

The midpoint Sun/Moon of Letizia is in aspect with her Venus and with her husbands' Sun. When the Sun of a man hits the midpoint Sun/Moon of a woman, it means that he is the one for her (the one she wants to belong to). For more about the midpoint Sun/Moon, click the label! -----------------------------

*List of transits and progressions of Juan Carlos reflecting the surgery:
The complete picture is of a revolutionary change in - physical- conditions with relief and difficulties, maybe in getting back to 'usual' after alert and stress. In a few months time progressed Midheaven square Pholus rx; the social position at a turning point.

Transit Pluto semisquare natal Ascendant +
Progressed Ascendant conjunct Pluto; stressful circumstances, something being removed or amputated; physical comeback

Transit Uranus trine Ascendant; easy and sudden change of circumstances; a physical intervention

Transit Uranus inconjunct Progressed Moon; extraordinary upheaval; something happens that creates nervousness

Progressed Sun square natal Chiron; facing a healing

Transit Neptune exactly semi sextile Midheaven; unconsciousness

The midpoint of transit Jupiter/Uranus conjunct progressed Sun; a relief (a successful intervention or positive change)

Transit Pholus sesquisquare Pluto and Midheaven; a frustrating and challenging turning point

Gordon Brown and the Elections
of May 6, 2010

The chart below is the natal chart of Gordon Brown with transits and progressions of Election day (May 6, 2010). On September 30, 2009 when it was expected that the elections would be in June, I wrote about the astrological situation and that prognosis hasn't changed. The past few months I have been especially interested in Pholus and now I like to add that transit Pholus is sesquisquare his progressed Sun. That is reflecting a turning point in life. As his progressed Sun sign is changing, another way of living is to be expected (his life style is changing). The third sign of change comes from the transit of Pluto on his natal Midheaven. Third time lucky is not the case...
A chart is hardly needed when there are polls, but still: the correspondence between the polls and the astrological positions is interesting. Now let us wait and see what happens...

Here is what I blogged before. I quote:
There are more and more signs that Gordon Brown will loose the elections and that he will have to get used to another life style, just like his progressed Sun (changing sign!) tells us that he will. The combination of transit Pluto on Midheaven and Progressed Midheaven inconjunct Saturn is at least a difficult one. There is stress (Pluto) and there is a big chance of losing status (inconjunction with Saturn). Saturn-Pluto-combinations in politics often reflect the hard sides of politics. Falling down is a hard thing. And there are no helping transits whatsoever
.
Unless a miracle happens, Labour will see of lot of the voters switch to another party.

Here are a few of the posts about Gordon Brown, who managed to make a big mistake yesterday when he insulted a lady who voted for Labour before. Here is the link to the posts with ‘Gordon Brown’ in the text: http://astropost.blogspot.com/search?q=gordon+brown

And here are some of the posts strictly about Gordon Brown and the elections.
Gordon Brown and the elections
Dated Sep 30, 2009
Nevertheless, even with such difficult aspects Gordon Brown made it to the top of the UK, just like George W. Bush managed to be in charge of the nation. See the topic about Sun and Saturn, managing to be in charge. ...

Astropost: Sun inconjunct Saturn (like Gordon Brown)
Dated Feb 21, 2010
When I read about Gordon Brown and his complaining staff, I remembered his natal Sun inconjunct Saturn. This inconjunction is about finding balance (inconjunction) between you and your position and life/lifestyle, however high or low, ...
Synastry Brown-Blair (Mars inconjunct Saturn
Dated Feb 25, 2010
Did, by any chance, Tony Blair ruin the life of Gordon Brown? Perhaps. With Mars inconjunct Saturn and Moon opposition Moon there are enough problems to solve between then, in spite of the Venus and Jupiter of Blair. ...

ALSO: about his opponents:

Astropost: David Cameron on June 3
Dated March 13, 2010
You see, his opponent, Gordon Brown, also has the progressed Sun in the final minutes of the sign. The inconjunction with Saturn in his chart is just as unpleasant as the transit of Saturn is in the chart of Cameron. ...\

(!Attention: the transits and progressions are for June 3, while the Elections are on May 6…)

Astropost: Liberal Nick Clegg
Dated Apr 16, 2010
The people of England have more than just two choices on May 6, election day. There is Gordon Brown, there is David Cameron and there is the winner of the debate today: Liberal Nick Clegg, born January 7, 1967, time unknown. ...

Yves Leterme had a chance to fall

Again, the government of Yves Leterme has fallen. I found the birth data on Astrology.blogo.nl (with thanks to Zus Luycz) (link). Yves Leterme was born Octboer 6,1960 at 10:18 in Wervik, Belgium. See his chart (scroll down) with transits and progressions.

BAD PRESS
The combination of the bad press (Uranus and Neptune, in mutual reception) is now in aspect with his progressed Midheaven (inconjunction and trine) and natal Sun (sesquisquare and quindecile). It must be a tragedy for a man with such a prominent Pluto (on Midheaven and rising before the Sun): the prototype of a politician. Transit Pluto is now trine his natal Midheaven (transformation time; come back time, too?) Belgium is of course a difficult country so he can’t have all the blame. But with Sun square Saturn he does have the aspect of being (found) responsible. He was in charge, after all. When he started this period of government he had transit Saturn sextile Sun, resonating the Sun-Saturn square and offering him the chance to fail again. Politicians with Sun-Saturn afflictions (like Putin and Chávez) tend to want to be ruling alone and control it all.

Also interesting is the conjunction of Mercury,Neptune andVenus trine Mars and Pluto. The talent to make up stories, discussion techniques and the ability to change opinions ….those are the kind of tools that politicians can use. But, one of the things that the Wallons (the French speaking part of Belgium) holds against him is that he is not flexible. With 50% of his positions in fixed signs and the Moon in Taurus it is hard to believe that they are wrong. In a country divided by two languages flexibility might be even more needed....But that is beyond astrology: let us just note the positions and see what happens...

Chart of Martina Navratilova

Martina Navratilova has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is going to have a 6 week radiation therapy starting in May. She said that she was angry about losing control and that the doctors are positive about the chances to beat the cancer.

She has a typical combination in her chart reflecting the present situation: the (progressed and natal) angles of the chart are being hit by a number of transits of Saturn, Neptune and Pluto…and by Pholus.

- Pluto is in the sixth house. Transit Pluto is conjunct Midheaven (because of an illness: a challenging, stressy or dangerous condition or position, survival and forced come back or …a therapy).
- Neptune is now conjunct progressed Midheaven (isolation, negative condition)
- Saturn is square progressed Ascendant (depressing situation)
- Progressed midpoint AC/MC is in hard aspect with Neptune (dissapointment)
- Also transit Pholus in the 16th degree of Sagittarius is quindecile the progressed Ascendant of Navratilova and mirroring the fysical turning point. Pholus is retrograding and will than square Venus (again).
- Transit Chiron is opposition natal Pluto (therapeutic healing)
- Transit Jupiter is almost square the progressed Sun (and that is positive). Also progressed Sun will be square Jupiter in 2 years time, to make life better.

Martine Navratilova is a tennis legend. Mercury or Gemini use to be important in the charts of those who use their arms and hands as much and profressional as tennis players do. Navratilova has Mercury on an angle in Libra, in mutual reception with Venus. Mercury is square Midheaven. The Moon in Aries is opposition Mercury and on the Ascendant, conjunct Ceres (symbol of the genes). This shows the importance of the female roots for her fysical condition. Her mother and grandmother also played tennis! This Moon conjunct Ceres on the Ascendant is also mirroring the importance of the habits of nutrition: she is a vegatarian.

Martina is also famous for her coming out as a lesbian in 1980, when progressed Sun and progressed Pallas conjoined, transit Saturn and Neptune ‘hit ‘ natal Jupiter and Jupiter was square Saturn. The earlier post today was about the disadvantage with the advantage joined in Jupiter-Saturn combinations and perhaps that is what she experienced at the time (when she lost a few sponsors).

CHANGING REALITIES
She also changed nationality. She originated from (then communist) Chechoslovakia, went to the States in 1975 (with Saturn square Ascendant and Jupiter inconjunct Quaoar, semi sextile Ascendant: pro’s and contra’s of a new reality) and became a USA citizen in 1981, but in 2008 she gave that up again for her former nationality.

Could that be the reflection of Uranus inconjunct Midheaven or Quaoar on the Descendant or both (Uranus sesquisemisquare Quaoar and 105 d from Ascendant). This combination of Ascendant-Uranus-Quaoar feels like a sudden and repeatedly - on and off - changing creation of new concepts of being and presenting herself.

Chart of Ricky Martin's coming out

Ricky Martin’s coming out is reflected by Pholus and Quaoar (now at 21d35m Sagittarius) on either side of the Descendant, both symbols of new realities and turning points like coming outs/breaking trough, things that come out of the closet, or ... important changes in general. Pholus is semi square AC/MC: there is a vital turning point. Progresses Sun/Moon is semi square transit Pluto for being motivated to transform (and for the stress that this change brings, too). There were at least 3 signs of changing times.

Ricky Martin is 38, so he waited a long time to make this announcement. Should the amount of easy aspects (twelve narrow sextiles and trines!) mean that he ‘ took it easy’ to do so?:) There is another indication for keeping his sexual orientation a secret: ruler 8 Saturn is in Gemini in the 12th house. Also Venus and Mars are in aspect with the combination of discretion (Neptune and Pluto).

Ricky’s astrological pattern of artistic talent*) is as follows:

Moon in Pisces
Moon at Aries Point
Moon sextile Venus (out of sign)
Venus sextile Neptune
Moon trine Neptune (out of Sign)
Neptune ruler of Midheaven
AC/MC square Venus

You can see that he is a singer (Mercury – voice – square MC; Venus/Uranus – sense of rhythm - square MC).

*) The pattern of artistic talents is made by Moon, Venus, Neptune and the signs that they rule with Midheaven. More examples of this pattern on

Chart of Louise Slaughter

Louise McIntosh (now Slaughter) is a Democratic Congress woman and she is 80 years old. Her bio on Vote Louise says that she was born at midnight and I suppose that that is for 0 hours. Gemini, the sign of 'eternal youth', was rising at that hour and at that place and that seems to be very appropiate for a woman of her age, still working full time!

Why is she a politician? Pluto, symbol of power, influence and stragegy, without major aspects within 5 degrees, rising before her Sun. That is qualifying her as a true politican in the first place, at any possible level. With the Moon opposition Jupiter and biquintile Pluto there is a lot of popularity, too, so that she was elected.

She started her political activities in the early 70s, soon after progressed Sun square Pholus and inconjunct transit Pholus (indicating the turning point in life). With transit Jupuiter square Moon and Uranus, Node and Chiron in soft aspect with natal Sun, she was elected in the Congress on November 4, 1986.

She is in the news today (see the WGRZ.com) because some person threatened to harm her and her family because of her 'yes' for the Health Bill. This happens with a lot of transits at the same time:
- transit Uranus inconjunct progressed Ascendant
- transit Uranus inconjunct natal IC,
- transit Neptune conjunct Midheaven
- progressed Mars trine natal Pluto and
- progressed Mars exactly inconjunct the Ascendant on March 19.

Uranus' inconjunctions are alarming and causing upheaval. As Uranus is afflicting the horizon and the meridian, this is reflecting a phase of alarm that has an effect on the situation and position of Mrs. Slaughter, including her private life (IC).

Mars inconjunct Ascendant is reflecting getting out of balance because of being struck, hit or hurt. (They actually threw a brick through her office window two days before the voting that took place on March 21. Mrs. Slaughter earlier had proposed a procedure to pass the bill.) The number of inconjunctions makes it difficult to remain in balance during this alarming (Uranus) attack (Mars).

Transit Neptune (ruler of Midheaven) is on her Midheaven now and that is often the moment to withdraw or 'give up' on a position. In this case it might refer to isolation (for her safety), too.

Sometimes, being a politician is tricky (and dangerous) business. I don't think that Mrs. Slaughter had such treaths before, even though there is an aspect in her chart referring to the issue of having to fight or work (too) hard and meeting enemies: Mars square Saturn (ruler 8), perhaps quite natural in politics. But as it seems, it also is the kind of aspect mirroring the energy to keep going on, even in your 80s. Or, should I credit the aspect ‘Sun trine Saturn’ for that fact?

Bart Stupack is one of the other senators who have been threatened. The time of his birth on February 29, 1952 is unknown so that the information is limited. But, he has transit Pholus semi sextile Mars and in the natal chart Mars is semi sextile Saturn. Mars-Saturn seems to be the kind of aspect that requires or demands 'guts', sometimes, because someone or the law is trying to cut off your energy, stop your advancement and limit your drive. There is no way to see right or wrong in an aspect, it is just telling us that there is a wall (or a brick) on your way one day.

Ceres and Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver and his wife Juliette Norton are expecting their fourth child. Let us see where in the positions on his day of birth we can find the cook and where the father of four. He was born May 27, 1975 in Clavering, Essex, a very little village close to Saffron Walden, time unknown.
CERES
The first object rising before the Sun is Ceres. The first objects and planets tell us about a person's orientation. Ceres is very important in the charts of chefs, as you can see in the post about famous television cooks (scroll down for the link). That is in line with the meaning of Ceres: food, nutrition, motherhood, Mother Nature. See the label Ceres for more about her.

In 1999, when he was 'discovered' by the BBC, transit Ceres was conjunct his natal Sun. The progressed Sun then was in the 29th degree of Taurus, so his life and lifestyle was changing.

The progressed Sun in the 9th degree of Cancer is now sextile natal Ceres.

MARS AND JUPITER
The first outer planets rising before his Sun are Jupiter (the international) and Mars. Together Mars and Jupiter promise lots of energy and drive, possibly leading to success and ...high productivity:) He owns several companies and is funding Italian restaurants in Asia now (very international!).

When he left school at age 16, transit Pluto was inconjunct his natal Sun. There is always correspondence between the progressions, transits and natal chart. When an aspect in transit or progression is repeating the combination of the natal chart (here Sun trine Pluto), the effect is greater. The combination of Sun and Pluto is one of the combinations for change. See them all here...

PLUTO
In the present period transit Pluto is square his natal Mars and inconjunct natal Sun. That produces a lot of stress and challenges, but Pluto is also the symbol of life and death. In the natal chart Pluto is in aspect with the Sun (trine) and Mars (opposition). The opposition between Mars and Pluto is part of a 'triangle of potential' with the Sun at the apex. It means that the enormous drive and potential is motivating him to be the star, the boss and the leading figure. Perhaps Jamie Oliver has an extreme drive to 'make it' (or create it:), again?

BTW, notice how the Mars-Pluto opposition can be used in a possitive way, also because the Sun is 'redirecting' the energy, adding creativity!

The position on the day of his birth, together with transits and progressions, being the son of parents who owned a pub and practised cooking, the oriental position of Ceres (heirloom! and nutrition), the fortunate meeting with a BBC-crew...that and possible but unknown angular positions (we don't know the hour of birth), is what made Jamie Oliver the rich and famous cook that he is. Also, the biquintile between Sun and Uranus is reflecting creative ways to be 'different' than the rest. Finally, I like to mention Venus in Cancer. Cancer (and/or the Moon) is often important in the charts of cooks. Venus is the symbol of pleasure. Jamie Oliver found a way to more fun in the kitchen!
