Swinging Gemini, using hands and feet

On Thursday May 21, 2015 the sun entered the astrological sign Gemini. It is the 'handy' sign, excellent for anything that you need to do using hand and feet at the same time. What? Well, dancing, playing tennis or cricket. Gemini is also the sign of gestures (using hands and mouth at the same time:).
This doesn't mean that any Gemini could play at Wimbledon or will be seen on TV in 'So you think you can dance'. And it is also not true that anyone who does, is a Gemini. In fact, some of them don't have any planet in Gemini at all. For example: Serena William. She is a top tennis player. Gemini is on her 2nd house cusp and Mercury (ruler of Gemini) is right opposite her Taurus (uh?) Ascendant. Even Agassi lacked support of Gemini. But, in order not to shame astrology, Roger Federer has a Midheaven in Gemini, just like cricket player Sourav Ganguly. Mr. Gangly also has Mercury in Gemini as final dispositor - ruler - of the Midheaven routing, as a strong statement. You'd almost think that Serena William shouldn't have been a tennis player at all:)
Of course, that is a joke. It is very hard to link charts to exact jobs. You also have to include backgrounds, social status and culture. In Serena Williams' case, the father pushed all of his children to become a tennis player. He managed to succeed with Serena's elderly sister Venus. And she's a Gemini! Serene has Sun/Moon in hard aspect with Ceres (symbol of genes, dynasties) and so she was motivated by family. I'm glad to have found the Gemini way, here.
Bob Hewitt is an Australian born tennis player. He was convicted last week for raping six of his pupils. He was born on January 12,  1940. Check that ephemeris and you'll see: not a tiny little bit of Gemini on that day. Perhaps it is the hour and place of birth (MC, Ascendant), just like the rapist. Although Mars in Aries trine Pluto COULD be used to win and conquer with extreme drive in a sexual way.
A besides about Hewitt. His chart, transits and progressions are mirroring the effect of resonance that I mentioned on this blog before. When you have a certain aspect in the natal chart and a transit or progression connects the same planets or points as in the birth chart, this transit or progression will manifest in a strong way. He has a natal Saturn inconjunct Neptune and opposition Node. It is the combination of involuntary detachment, (see the post) related to groups of people (like in a hospital or prison). Right now there are minor aspects repeating the natal combination. Transit Neptune is semi square Saturn. Transit Node was quindecile Saturn on the day of his conviction. Those aspects are considered to be generational aspects (because a lot of people born in the same period have them). Only if there are more indications in the same direction and when Saturn, Neptune or Node have a special place in the chart (for example: on an angle), you may expect that the Saturn-Neptune-Node theme will be mirrored in your life somehow. It might be the case in the chart of Hewitt, or it would be just coincidental that he faces a not wanted isolation now.
Just like Hewitt I don't have any Gemini planet in the natal chart. Everybody has a house cusp with Gemini on it. In my chart it is the 4th house. I like to live where there are shops, in a city or not to far from the busy road. I lived in an apartment above a mall twice. But I don't play tennis. And I don't dance!
I had a friend once, a Gemini, who persuaded me to join her on a cruise to Norway. She had been on cruises in the Caribbean before and expected to dance, dance and dance all day. But, the public on the ship we sailed on was quite different (grey hair, looking for culture and loving jazz and classics) so that the disco was empty and cold and she was in bad and sad mood. I, on the contrary, enjoyed myself. I am not fond of dancing in public (no Gemini, no!). It is rather amazing that I met my husband on a dance floor (but OK, I was young), because when we decided to learn how to dance (style dancing, I mean) we had to cover the floor with paper feet to know where to stand on! He doesn't have Gemini planets either!
In the progressed chart, however, I have an Ascendant Gemini and that is nice, when you are getting older. They say that Gemini Ascendants look younger than they are and remain mentally active. What will happen to my blog when my Progressed Ascendant moves into Taurus, I wonder? Perhaps I'll move to the country:) Anyway, meanwhile I will try to be more swinging and keep blogging in accordance to the Progressed Ascendant. Gemini swings! Just consider the fact that the Sun/Moon midpoint in Michael Jackson's chart was in Gemini, too...
PS I noticed a group of Gemini Dancers http://www.geminidancers.co.uk and here you can learn how to dance http://www.dancegemini.co.uk

Darts and astrology

I am not a darts fan, even though throwing arrows would fit my sun sign. But as my husband likes it, I see a lot of it. Yesterday I saw Michael van Gerwen against Garry Anderson and a part of Phil Taylor against Raymond van Barneveld. Of course I checked their birth data, transits and progressions, even though there are no known hours of birth. The astrological situation of Michael van Gerwen was clearly nasty and he looked tired and sad. His day of birth is April 25, 1989. His progressed Sun entered Gemini this year and the planet of blockades, Saturn, entered Sagittarius on December 24. That is an opposition. To make it even worse, progressed Mars was exactly opposite his natal Saturn. To finish it, transit Pluto joined his natal Saturn and was opposite his progressed Mars as well. More than 3 difficult aspects to symbolize difficulties in real life were enough, even though he made it to the semi finals. And I don't even know what kind of transits and progressions there were for the Moon, MC or Ascendant! He had bad bad luck.

His fellow country man Barney (Raymond van Barneveld) didn't make it to the finals, either. He was born April 20, 1967 and had transit Mars square Neptune. He was very tired, too.

Phil Taylor had transit Pluto and Uranus in aspect with progressed Sun, so it wasn't easy for him and there was a lot of stress. However, transit Mars sextile Jupiter and Jupiter himself on his natal Sun are a big big help. He might be the champion. Don't bet on it (I don't know his Ascendant, MC or Moon!).

Garry Anderson (December 22, 1970) will see progressed Sun-Saturn next year. Stressful Pluto is for now. The fact that he won was more related to the nasty positions in Van Gerwen's chart than to happy transits in his. But again, no hour of birth, and the fact that the future changes while I am writing. Speaking of darts, have you ever read that post on the Arrow of time?

Marathon, the Sphinx, Jupiter and fixed signs

November 4, 2007
MARTIN LEL WINS NY MARATHON

This is what I wrote in 2007:

With 60% of the positions in the fixed signs on his birthday (29th October 1978 in Kapsaber, Kenya) Martin Lel is born to be persistent. That seems a good sign for a marathon man.

Today he won the New York Marathon with transit Jupiter semi square to the Sun.
When you are a runner and transit Jupiter is in aspect with your Sun, you might win...That is because Jupiter means help, success, satisfaction and progress.

FIXED SIGNS
When you are a marathon man, you'd better have indications for persistence in your chart. Placements in the fixed signs are such indications. Fixed signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. They go on and on.

The famous Sphinx has a human head (Aquarius) and we see the lion (Leo), eagle (Scorpio) and ox (Taurus) in the sculpture.

Just a short post to point at the positions of Sun, Moon and Progressed Moon in the chart of Mubarak (still the President of Egypt, born May 4, 1928) and the eternal sphinx, the combination of all four fixed signs in astrology (see this link to Astrology weekly, about it)...Fixed signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. They share a strong will and persistence. President Mubarak has the Sun in the astrological tropical sign Taurus, Moon in Scorpio and at present the Progressed Moon in Scorpio and we can't accuse him of giving up immediately, can we?

In 2008 I wrote about Hillary Clinton and not giving up. Why not? Of course: her fixed signs!
Quote:

Hillary Clinton won in West Virginia and she won't give up. This determination is not surprising. She has 60% of her placements in fixed signs (in her case in Scorpio or Leo). Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Pluto are in fixed signs. And now that we are looking at qualities and elements: she does not have any placement in an earth sign! It points at the need to gather material things, security, certainty. For more info...

Netherlands in the World Cup 2014

Yesterday, the Netherlands won the match against Costa Rica by means of penalty. At the moment of the official end of the second half, the Descendant of the that moment and place pointed at the Pluto of Louis van Gaal, indicating stress. But, it was a transit Sun - Jupiter day, so he won. Now what about Netherlands-Argentina? The chart of the official final moment on July 9, 2014 compared with the positions of the coaches (Scorpio Alejandro Sabella and Leo Louis van Gaal) shows Sabella's Jupiter square MC while it is Saturn semi sextile MC for Van Gaal on a transit Sun - Neptune day. Also transit Jupiter is trine Sabella's progressed Venus (signaling party time). So, I am not optimistic for the Netherlands. However, this method is experimental and Van Gaal's transits of Uranus surprised us and gave him the title 'Genius' (very well in line with Uranus). So don't bet your money on it! And if you'd like another result: there are many many predictions, even by animals. I do, because I hope that the team of Van Gaal wins (sorry, Argentinos!)

Astrology of Netherlands-Chili June 23, 2014

Use the label 'Football' and you find a lot of posts related to an experiment: finding a correspondence between charts and results in football. Here is another try.

On Monday June 23, 2014 there is the match Netherlands-Chili and I think that it will be undecided but a typical short fuse match. Why?
1. A peculiar Midheaven of the final moment with only one aspect (inconjunct Neptune, the planet of confusion and doubt),
2. The MC of the final moment is exactly square the natal Neptune of Sampaoli (the coach of Chili). Sounds like disappointment and he wants to be the pool number 1
3. Mars opposite Uranus (short fuses), tightly and
4. Eris-Mars-MC and Van Gaal (football is war sometimes)
5. Double Sun-Mars synastry between the coaches. This shows competition.

But, nothing is certain and predicting is difficult, especially when it is about the future:). So don't put your money on it, just study the charts. Any other idea? Let me know before the match!

BTW The chart of the Netherlands had transit Jupiter sextile Sun in 1988 (when the Netherlands became European champion). On July 13 (finale WC2014) Jupiter will be 5 degrees too far for a perfect trine with the Dutch natal Sun. The Netherlands are not favorite in the Top10. Hope keeps them going!:)

This is the chart of the final moment with the transit positions on the day of birth of Sampaoli.
PS
The picture above shows that in Greece in ancient times there was football, too, just like astrology. Did these two meet?

Sochi Winter Games, chart of the start

Soon there will be the kick off for the Winter Games of Sochi, 2014. It seems that the men and women who are to compete have nice accommodations but that the journalists have to deal with unfinished hotels sometimes. Never mind, the show must go on! Let's have a look at the chart of the kick off.

The official starting moment of the Olympics in Sochi is Friday, February 7 at 20:14 hours local time, with Mercury square Midheaven and conjunct Neptune on the Descendant, opposition Pallas.

Here is the chart for that moment with the planet of achievement, competition and fighting (Mars) without major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. When Mars is 'calling' there will be efforts at any possible level. The other side is that there might be aggression or attacks, too. ,The Moon in Gemini elevated and sesquisquare Venus and Pluto (rising before the Sun), hopefully intensifying the good mood. The Venus-Pluto conjunction in the 5th house of games and entertainment is still opposition Jupiter in the 11th. Perhaps the costs and the price of the games are higher than was to be expected.

Click for a larger picture

And here is the chart for President Putin on that specific day.
Click for a larger picture
There are 3 important aspects:

transit Jupiter quindecile Mars
transit Jupiter trine Venus
These two transits of Jupiter mirror growing passion. The first transit shows a strong focus (if not obsession) to succeed and for a party.

transit Saturn square Pluto is more complicated (read about the boomerang effect here: http://astromarkt.net/saturn-in-aspect-with-pluto.html ). This transit shows the danger of the nasty sides of politics. The good thing about this transit is that it has already been exact when the games start. Saturn-Pluto combinations are frequent in the charts of individual sports men and women.

I very much hope for safe games with a happy ending for all involved and maybe even a good influence for the sake of Russian homosexuals and for the people of Sochi.

Transits and progressions of Michael Schumacher's accident

The German F1 racer Michael Schumacher had a terrible ski-accident and is now in coma. The doctors say there is nothing more they can do but wait. Accidents don't come alone: they are accompanied by more than 2 important transits or progressions, always. The former Stigg had a number of dramatic aspects yesterday. They indicate being confused or isolated, warn for getting hurt and needing a cure. They also include challenge, danger and problems.

1. Progressed Sun is exactly square progressed Neptune.
This aspect often accompanies a period of withdrawal or isolation. In the natal chart the Sun is semi square Neptune and Neptune is angular. That increases the importance of this progression.
He is in coma and in hospital and that seems to correspond with the nature of Neptune.

2. Progressed Mars and Progressed Pholus both semi square transit Pluto
This aspect warns for danger of injuries.

The two aspects above are valid even if the hour of birth is not completely correct. For the other transits and progressions, it takes more than that.

3. Transit Pluto on natal Sun/Moon midpoint (if the time of birth given by Astrodatabank is correct)
Sun/Moon is the point of heart and soul and of being motivated or not. Pluto intensifies motivations. The Sun/Moon-Pluto combination highlights crisis, issues of life and death and challenges in general.

4. Transit Mars square natal Moon
This is for a moment with a risk of getting hurt.

5. Transit Chiron is conjunct Progressed Moon, mirroring the need to heal.

6. Progressed Venus is inconjunct Progressed IC and in a growing sesquisquare with progressed Neptune.

There is no involvement of the 8th house, except for Pluto (natural ruler of 8) and Mars (ancient natural ruler of 8). In January and April/May transit Jupiter will be on the Progressed Ascendant (provided that the hour is correct!). Jupiter is the symbol of doctors, helpers and sometimes of hope that things will be getting better. His Jupiter, however is the ruler of the 8th house of life and death and of crisis. Given the situation, we will have to wait, see and hope for the best…

Here are the charts (a click to enlarge them):

Dennis Rodman: very Uranus

Dennis Rodman is such a perfect example of Sun square Uranus. See Astromarkt & attached chart

That is what I tweeted before (in February). It is because Dennis Rodman has Sun exactly square Uranus for being controversial (and he is! again and again).  Right now we see transit Uranus square his progressed Sun. When a transit or progression highlights a natal aspect, you may expect that this original tendency will be highlighted. To call Kim Jong-un, the North Korean dictator a 'friend for life' IS controversial.

Glory of a hole-in-1 and the chart

A successful moment in life shows in the chart and it doesn't have to be a world wide success or a career advancement. You may have transit Jupiter on your side on a golf course.

My husband learns to play golf since 1 year. After 2 'birdies' in the past half year, he now had a 'hole-in-1'. There was excitement, a publication and a lot of congratulations! His chart joined the party, in many ways.

Jupiter is an important key to success. Transits of Jupiter sometimes do nothing at all. I think that is also, because it takes more than 2 (say 3:) indications for success in a chart to really reflect something memorable. On the hole-in-one day, my husband had:

- transit Jupiter square Sun (new success)
- transit Jupiter trine Moon (happy moment to remember)
- transit Venus (ruler 5th house, house of plays and games) on Progressed Midheaven (wish coming true)
- transit Pluto conjunct Progressed Mars (winning strike:)
- transit Mercury conjunct natal Pluto
- transit Venus conjunct Uranus (ruler 5)

There is always an important Pallas in the charts of those who play these games. You must have an eye for patterns, for 'how things swing'. He has. He has Sun/Moon semi square Pallas.

It seems that there are insurances for the risk of a hole-in-one, as there are tournaments with the rule that you must buy all members a drink when you hit that. He was just playing with another member, so the fact that Jupiter is his ruler 2 in 2 will only lead to a big pie party in the club house. I think...

In a chart, success never comes alone. And when you have a success, many want to be part of it. Even my chart joines in it! Transit Jupiter is opposition my Sun/Moon midpoint. The opposition often refers to 'others'. Spotlights (sun/moon) on the success (Jupiter) of others (opposition).  This post is one of those spotlight:).

So, if you have 2 Jupiter transits AND one of Venus, you may have a lucky day. And that is the lesson of this:)

PS You may notice that his Sun must be square my Sun/Moon midpoint. The Sun/Moon midpoint of a woman is often related to the Sun  of her husband, like with Victoria and Albert, Onassis and Jackie, or other planets in the husband's chart... or vice versa. Chart of Arthur Ashe (born July 10, 1943)

Arthur Ashe was born on July 10, 1943. He was a successful tennis player who unfortunately suffered from hereditary heart disease. He died because he became infected with AIDS when they operated him in 1979 and 1983.

NATAL CHART
His natal chart has Saturn rising before the Sun (pointing at ambition and the importance of parents and parenthood). This Saturn is exactly inconjunct Pholus in the 4th house and rules the 4th house of family matters. In the 8th house of death Uranus (surprise) is conjunct Ceres (genes). There is also Mars/Saturn midpoint semi square Descendant to show the issues of both discipline and death on the horizon.

It is no surprise that he wrote a book. Mercury is elevated and 'calling' (no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees), so communications is ringing.  Mercury is also important for tennis as Mercury rules the arms.

SUCCESS
I like to point at Mars square Jupiter and Pluto. The combination of Mars, Jupiter and Pluto increases energy and drives. This is one of the key combinations for success. Jupiter and Pluto are in the 10th house of career, also stimulating and empowering ambition.

SURGERY, AIDS and MOON-SATURN
The surgery of 1979 (december 13) was with transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Moon and transit Neptune was square Progressed Venus*, natal ruler 1 and 8).
When he found out that he had AIDS transit Saturn was opposition progressed Moon. Saturn-Moon transits go together with nasty moments to remember. In line with the alarming message, transit Uranus was square his progressed Mercury in September 1988, when they told him.

Here you see natal with transits and progressions on December 13, 1979.

Super Bowl two brothers and astrology

When you click on the label 'football' you find a few posts in which I try to 'predict' the results of a match or game by using the MC of the final moment to see if there is a 'hit' with the coach's natal chart.
I also use the transits and progressions of the coach. I wanted to try it on the Super Bowl of February 3, 2013. It is a special match, because the two coaches are brothers (John and Jim Harbaugh).

SUPER BOWL CHART?
I thought it would be very interesting to see who wins and to see how the charts of the brothers are reflecting this. The problem with the chart of the SuperBowl is, however, that there is no indication for the eact time of the end of the match! The average SuperBowl lasts for about 3,5 hours, but it could be more (or less), depending on the length of shows and commercials. That makes it hard for to use my method. But I still want to have a look at the charts of the brothers.

THE HARBAUGH SYNASTRY
The sun signs of the brothers don't match. Their synastry is sun square sun. Both are starts, both want to draw attention and both want to be the boss. It must be very hard to be their mother and give both of them the attention that they need! They are two superstars fighting each other in the Super Bowl!
Also, Uranus of Jim is conjunct the Pluto of John. That is stimulating for tension and stress. Perhaps they are the sources of each other's level of adrenaline:)! They will certainly feel the heat on February 3, 2013, day of the match.
Position of day of birth John with (transit) those of Jim Harbaugh

JIM

Jim Harbaugh, San Francisco 94ers, was born on December 23, 1963.  In the natal chart Jim has a tight trine between Mars and Pluto, for the strong drive to win, strong muscles and tremendous energy. He is a typical 'strong man'.

Here is what is in his chart right now:
1. The match takes place on a day with transit Sun conjunct his Pholus. That is a yearly 'turning point' day. Mine was on Friday January 18, when the pedicurist hurt my foot. So Jim, don't stamp your foot!:)
2. Transit Pholus is sextile progressed Sun: an easy way out to a point of no return.
3. There is a minor Jupiter transit (105d) with progressed Sun: a merely visible success.

JOHN
John Harbaugh, Baltimore Ravens, was born on September 23, 1962. In the natal chart of John, Pluto rises before the Sun so that he has a strong focus on strategy and strength.

His transits and progressions are:
1. Progressed sun in minor (75d) aspect with Saturn (merely visible set back?)
2. Transit Pluto trine Pluto offers a great challenging moment for a win and stronger value
3. Progressed Venus trine Mars is good for passion
4. Progressed Sun conjunct progressed Venus (great for love life)

RESULT?
How can these lists offer any insight in the results of the Super Bowl? They can't because I don't have the chart of the final moment. I want to know who is happy in the end. I think that Jim has 'better astrological cards' because of the Jupiter and because of the fact that his team is favorite while John has a minor Saturn progression. On the other hand, those trine see to bring luck, too (and John has them). So:

Can anybody give me the hour of that final moment please?

Anquetil in 1957 (and more Tour de France)

Like in every summer, it is Tour de France time again. I am not fond of sports (sorry!), but even a reluctant observer like I am remembers the name of Jacques Anquetil, the man who won the Tour de France 5 times, first on July 30, 1957. Here is the chart and here are the observations about the winner in the chart.

His chart has Jupiter rising before the Sun (the international, the traveller). Many bikers have Mars-Uranus aspects (they have to accelerate speed!) and so has he: Mars is in minor aspect with Uranus (75d) and in Aquarius. Mars and Uranus are in mutual reception, too.

This chart has no angularities but as AC/MC midpoint is semi square Mars we know about the importance of competition (drive, muscles, speed and energy) .

On July 30, 1957 the Progressed Sun had been trine the Moon and semi square Midheaven. Progressed Midheaven was conjunct the Sun. There was a double Sun-MC connection, highlighting the status and position. Transit Pluto square natal Sun/Moon and Chiron, with transit Chiron conjunct Saturn tell us about exhaustion and stress, too. He didn't win in luxury...but he repeated it 4 times!

LINKS
There are a number of blogs about Lance Armstrong, Bertrand, Contador, Landis and Kohl, Sun-Jupiter and doping. They tell about the charts, transits and progressions in times of competition, winning, falling down and losing.

DOPING
Doping is related to Sun-Jupiter. When you want more than your body can do, you need some help to be successful...Here are posts about the Sun-Jupiter correspondence with doping cases.

COMPETITION (AND ARGUING) AND MORE ABOUT ARMSTRONG
Lance Armstrong and Alberto Contador keep arguing and wrangling...It is a matter of Mars!

When Lance Armstrong fell hard in the Tour, there was a strong Mars-Saturn connection....

Floyd Landis accused Lance Armstrong of having used doping, too. (May 2010)

Bad times in March 2009 for Lance Armstrong. They showed up in his chart.

Mars (changing sign to Gemini) square Neptune

Canals on Mars?
In the blog about Mars in the progressed chart I wrote that nothing much changed when my progressed Mars changed sign, just another kind of activities. Today, Mars changes sign from Taurus to Gemini. That must be quite a change, from the lazy cow (not easily to offend) to the busy double-active always doing-two-things-at-the-same-time Gemini. Mars in Gemini is good with hands and so this position is perfect for Wimbledon: competition using hands and a lot of 'doubles'. However, the square with Neptune will immediately confuse the double-tasking promoter so that he makes mistakes or swings to the wrong side. I wonder in what way and if it will be at Wimbledon. It would be very astrological if there was something wrong, misunderstood or simply cancelled right at the very moment of Mars in Gemini square Neptune. It would also be very naive to believe that the rain will stop Wimbledon like last year, just because of the square between Mars in Gemini and Neptune in Pisces. It takes more than just one aspect, always...

So it probably won't happen, and the aspect will only be significant for the babies born on June 21 and June 22, whose Mars or Neptune have a prominent place (on an angle, for example). But what IS Mars-Neptune?

MARS-NEPTUNE
Sun-Neptune is about double lives (and the question: who am I really?). Mars-Neptune is about double drives and activities (and the question: what am I doing?) The pink glasses on when playing tennis, perhaps that is the picture of a Mars Gemini square Neptune. Or double tasking with an overdose of sleep. Or an infection in something double in the body, like with pneumonia. At best: making a dream come true by working twice as hard. I might be affected by Mars in Gemini square Neptune already, because I am wondering if the picture above (a double Mars - in Gemini!- with canals = Neptune) wouldn't be the perfect image for this combination.

I have a bad example of a count in Holland who was naive enough to believe that he would be spared, but he wasn't. Natal Mars-Neptune opposition. Soon after transit Neptune conjunct Sun (being seen in a negative light, gossip) he was convicted and sentenced to death. Those were the days...a mistake, literally loosing your head... Don't I have a nice Mars-Neptune example? Yes, the chart of Rod Stewart (on Art&Astrology). He has Mars square Neptune and they didn't chop his head off!

Maybe you have some more? If you have Mars square Neptune, what is your experience? I read about a man who kept losing his job because of not matching with the expectations. I have seen examples of people working in or with crime (as a lawyer, for example, fighting crime). It seems that Mars-Neptune makes you 'do it' in another world, the world of imagination or the world that the common people don't see. Perhaps they work with animals, in hospitals, as a volunteer, for their ideals? It is a complicated aspect, very confusing (...).

Somehow you would expect the aspect to be valid when it occurs, too, not just in a natal chart, for a character, but real action at the right moment. That is why I keep my eyes on Wimbledon...Meanwhile, please   do the poll...

Rafael Nadal won again: Jupiter on his Moon

At Roland Garros (Paris, France) Rafael Nadal won again, for the 6th time. He also beated Federer for the fourth time. Rafael Nadal's chart has the Sun (in the sign of tennis: Gemini) rules the Midheaven in Leo and doesn't make aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. That is the signature of the star and performer.
Today he had transit Jupiter conjunct the Moon and that is the symbol of the great moment to remember. He also had transits of Pluto (opposition Progressed Sun and sesquisquare natal Sun/Moon), perhaps for the stress and the challenge.

An unaspected Sun makes you draw attention (performer, leader or star), at any possible level
Rafael Nadal does it on the gravel.

LINKS

Can Federer ever win this, I wondered, in a 2009 post (see here...) You see, the Saturn of Nadal is opposition the Midheaven of Federer and that won't change.

Shaquille O'Neal, retirement and Saturn

When there are important moments in life there are at least 3 indications for change (the rule of three). There are (of course) a number of indications in the chart of Shaquille O'Neal for stopping, retiring and ending his career.

1. Transit Pholus square natal Sun (now) for a turning point in life and lifestyle.

2. Transit Saturn will be square Midheaven in August. That is for a career end and depressing condition.

3. Transit Pluto semi square Progressed MC (now and in December 2011): frustrating transformation process...frustrated/difficult come back. His condition (MC) doesn't allow him to go on.

4. Transit Uranus conjunct progressed Mercury is for shocking news (right now, sudden decisions)

5. Transit Saturn trine Progressed Venus right now is perhaps about relationships or the respect that he gets from his fans.

Those are not easy aspects and that is to be expected. There is even more (like transit Neptune square Saturn ruler 10 - he needs cortisone for injuries and his achilles' heel is damaged - and Transit Pholus inconjunct natal Mars for the phyrric victory and the turning point in energy level).

Shaquille O'Neal is the best basketball player of all times.

President Obama, Saturn and stitches

Transit Saturn is exactly square Barack Obama's progressed Midheaven and see what happens: 12 stitches after a basketball misshap, an elbow in the face. Ouch!

They use to say that Saturn-Midheaven is bad for a career, so if he planned to be a professional basketball player...maybe he'd better not keep on trying:)...No seriously, Saturn-Midheaven is perhaps reflecting the difficulties to maintain his position after the bad results of the elections. That hurt and now this is another pain and another 'loss of the face'.

Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen and Pluto

Tomorrow, just a few minutes after posting this (starting on Friday September 10, 2010) there is Magnus Carlsen vs the World on Internet. Here is the link to where you can try to beat him:). ..

Chess prodigy Magnus Carlsen was born on November 30, 1990, just like Antoine N'Gossan, an Ivorian football midfielder and the Swedish football player of Beninese decent, Yosif Ayuba. Tactics and strategy are necessary in chess, football and politics. These qualities are represented by
Pluto.

Pluto is important in the chart of these three men. Pluto is the planet of orientation (the planet that rises before the Sun) on November 30, 1990. It means that tactics and strategy (and winning!) come first...
The importance of Pluto for his career is shown by the progression/transit at age 13, when Magnus Carlsen became a Grandmaster. That was with transit Pluto conjunct Progressed Sun (in a year of transformation and challenges)...

Continue for the other qualities in the chart of November 30, 1990 and see the links to more about Sun-Pluto and another prodigy.

Divorce, Uranus and Tiger Woods

Natal, transits and progressions of Tiger Woods today

Transit Uranus is semi square his progressed (SA) Sun, now that Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren agreed to divorce (see the Telegraph). The news about Tiger and his marriage started with Uranus, when he had transit Uranus on the Descendant,  and ends with it...Tiger Woods has a minor aspect between Venus and Uranus: a half semi square (22.5 degrees.  Venus-Uranus. Venus-Uranus aspects are often mirroring affairs.
Minor aspects likea half semi square are not as 'obvious' as major aspects are.

There are a few posts about Tiger Woods:

(Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren didn't match and a Mars-Mars conflict illustrates the fight in the end... )

And related, about Orcus and oaths…

When partners have a strong Orcus-connection, there seems to be an oath in question.

North Korea: des astres...

It seems that when you don't control things, the asteroids are the reflection of 'disastres' (a word originating from French that means: what comes from the stars, des astres). When you are a football player or coach in North Korea you are supposed to win or...you will be tortured and sent to a prison camp! This is the chart of the day of birth of the coach:

natal, transits and progression Kim Jong-hun
The coach's name is Kim Jong-hun. When he started training the boys, the progressed Sun had recently changed to the next sign*) and  he started a new life and lifestyle. This chart shows that it takes background info to read it. You need to consider that this coach lives in an extreme world. When there is little personal choice to make and an irrational government or strict rules for society decide about your life, your life path is marked with little dangerous and sharp stones and any step can cause injuries or falling. Maybe that is why the most tiny objects (the asteroids) are so important in this chart?

Saturn and Ceres seem to illustrate the consequences of breaking unwritten society rules. The Saturn-Ceres combination is active in this case and I have a second (Japanese) example...

Lance Armstrong, doping and T Jupiter inconjunct Sun

With transit Jupiter inconjunct progressed Sun, Lance Armstrong has again been accused of using/promoting doping. Again I see the Sun-Jupiter connection in doping cases. There are other transits at the moment (Transit Saturn conjunct natal Venus for limiting joy, transit Uranus trine Jupiter for a relief, transit Uranus trine Neptune, transit Node semi square progressed Mars etc. etc.) and of course there is more in life than a repeated accusation coming from someone who has been found guilty of using doping, but the fact is that Sun-Jupiter transits and progressions keep popping up when doping is involved (or when someone is being found ‘ positive’).

The negative effect of the positive Jupiter has been described in an earlier post about Floyd Landis that you find here (see the links). The effect of the inconjunction has been described here.. You can read the inconjunction with Jupiter as: ' success and support, but...' and than start looking for what is getting lost or what it is that you have to let go. Here is the chart with the transit...
