Swinging Gemini, using hands and feet

On Thursday May 21, 2015 the sun entered the astrological sign Gemini. It is the 'handy' sign, excellent for anything that you need to do using hand and feet at the same time. What? Well, dancing, playing tennis or cricket. Gemini is also the sign of gestures (using hands and mouth at the same time:).
This doesn't mean that any Gemini could play at Wimbledon or will be seen on TV in 'So you think you can dance'. And it is also not true that anyone who does, is a Gemini. In fact, some of them don't have any planet in Gemini at all. For example: Serena William. She is a top tennis player. Gemini is on her 2nd house cusp and Mercury (ruler of Gemini) is right opposite her Taurus (uh?) Ascendant. Even Agassi lacked support of Gemini. But, in order not to shame astrology, Roger Federer has a Midheaven in Gemini, just like cricket player Sourav Ganguly. Mr. Gangly also has Mercury in Gemini as final dispositor - ruler - of the Midheaven routing, as a strong statement. You'd almost think that Serena William shouldn't have been a tennis player at all:)
Of course, that is a joke. It is very hard to link charts to exact jobs. You also have to include backgrounds, social status and culture. In Serena Williams' case, the father pushed all of his children to become a tennis player. He managed to succeed with Serena's elderly sister Venus. And she's a Gemini! Serene has Sun/Moon in hard aspect with Ceres (symbol of genes, dynasties) and so she was motivated by family. I'm glad to have found the Gemini way, here.
Bob Hewitt is an Australian born tennis player. He was convicted last week for raping six of his pupils. He was born on January 12,  1940. Check that ephemeris and you'll see: not a tiny little bit of Gemini on that day. Perhaps it is the hour and place of birth (MC, Ascendant), just like the rapist. Although Mars in Aries trine Pluto COULD be used to win and conquer with extreme drive in a sexual way.
A besides about Hewitt. His chart, transits and progressions are mirroring the effect of resonance that I mentioned on this blog before. When you have a certain aspect in the natal chart and a transit or progression connects the same planets or points as in the birth chart, this transit or progression will manifest in a strong way. He has a natal Saturn inconjunct Neptune and opposition Node. It is the combination of involuntary detachment, (see the post) related to groups of people (like in a hospital or prison). Right now there are minor aspects repeating the natal combination. Transit Neptune is semi square Saturn. Transit Node was quindecile Saturn on the day of his conviction. Those aspects are considered to be generational aspects (because a lot of people born in the same period have them). Only if there are more indications in the same direction and when Saturn, Neptune or Node have a special place in the chart (for example: on an angle), you may expect that the Saturn-Neptune-Node theme will be mirrored in your life somehow. It might be the case in the chart of Hewitt, or it would be just coincidental that he faces a not wanted isolation now.
Just like Hewitt I don't have any Gemini planet in the natal chart. Everybody has a house cusp with Gemini on it. In my chart it is the 4th house. I like to live where there are shops, in a city or not to far from the busy road. I lived in an apartment above a mall twice. But I don't play tennis. And I don't dance!
I had a friend once, a Gemini, who persuaded me to join her on a cruise to Norway. She had been on cruises in the Caribbean before and expected to dance, dance and dance all day. But, the public on the ship we sailed on was quite different (grey hair, looking for culture and loving jazz and classics) so that the disco was empty and cold and she was in bad and sad mood. I, on the contrary, enjoyed myself. I am not fond of dancing in public (no Gemini, no!). It is rather amazing that I met my husband on a dance floor (but OK, I was young), because when we decided to learn how to dance (style dancing, I mean) we had to cover the floor with paper feet to know where to stand on! He doesn't have Gemini planets either!
In the progressed chart, however, I have an Ascendant Gemini and that is nice, when you are getting older. They say that Gemini Ascendants look younger than they are and remain mentally active. What will happen to my blog when my Progressed Ascendant moves into Taurus, I wonder? Perhaps I'll move to the country:) Anyway, meanwhile I will try to be more swinging and keep blogging in accordance to the Progressed Ascendant. Gemini swings! Just consider the fact that the Sun/Moon midpoint in Michael Jackson's chart was in Gemini, too...

Saturn transit and the heavy load

My blog is full of examples of transits, progressions and how the mirror real life. Today, I am the example. Remember when I wrote about my mother's tragic fall? She ended in a wheelchair , would never walk again, because surgery would kill her.  Here is the link: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/09/saturn-and-hitting-floor.html*)

Now I had transit Saturn square progressed Midheaven in Aquarius (trine natal Neptune). September was the month of involuntary detachment.  I could expect limitations, a fall, the end of a condition or saying farewell to a family member (and how true that was!), finishing my job...; a range of possibilities! First my site Astromarkt.net was off line. Later doctors advised me to do a stress test (after a sort of a collapse early September). Then, out of the blue came a cuff problem, about a week before my mother died. This shoulder problem temporarily disabled me.

I had noticed a strange pain in the biceps and started to train my shoulder. I also did a lot to get my site Astromarkt.net back on the internet after a hack. And I walked with my mother when I found out that I had to push so hard because of flat tires. All that, but most of all the effects of what I did before caused the sudden malfunction of my right arm. I am unaible to lift my arm. If I was a dog, I'd be crippled. The pain was nasty. It lasted for 3 days. Then my arm started functioning again, bit my bit. I can now raise my hand 110 degree.

It was a horrific idea to be unable to drive. It was and is a problem to get dressed. It hurts when I lay down and it keeps me awake at night. It's sad news for blogging (using one hand), again. Saturn sort of robbed me of my independence (well, of course the planet didn't. Transit Saturn only mirrored the situation!)

Meanwhile, another family member prepares to die and to complete the depressing scene, Pluto will be on my Sun/Moon midpoint and  this will be exact mid November.

Maybe the transits of Jupiter trine my MC and Sun come for the rescue...

So, if you see Saturn coming, take care of yourself. In spite of the positive views (like imagining that Saturn makes you wise), it hurts. Saturn symbolizes that you carry a (too) heavy load on your shoulders.

*) On September 21 my mother passed away. Medication mixes (heart and pain) were fatal in the end. I wrote about that in 'Danger of Pluto, not on guard'. I miss her.

Saturn Neptune and involuntary detachment

Saturn-Neptune aspect combinations, says Reinhold Ebertin, carry the principle of suffering, renunciation and asceticism. They refer to poor, sick or depressed persons. The note on page 249 of his book 'The combination of Stellar Influences' says that Saturn-Neptune is the illness axis. There are several posts on this blog with examples (use the label Saturn-Neptune). What illnesses do, is keeping you in bed, inactive and in involuntary detachment.

In 2011 I had transit Saturn conjunct Neptune and was struck with neuritus vestibularis (a sudden extreme vertigo that keeps you flat on your back for days if not longer).  There are still remains of that 'attack' and I experienced this again and again whenever there was an overload of tasks or movements. The transit is being repeated by transit Neptune inconjunct Saturn. I also had a dental problem that was cured (I hope) mid January, with transit Neptune inconjunct Saturn and conjunct Jupiter (for the 3rd and last time). I think that the dental problem and the vertigo are related, but even though there is no scientific source of what causes neuritis vestibularis, the doctors say that there can be no link between an infection in the jaw and vertigo. What remains is the astrological link: Saturn-Neptune, Neptune-Saturn.

Saturn-Neptune is often a statement for involuntary detachment. I also found this aspect in the natal chart of a Dutch professor in criminology (born December 5, 1933) who was haunted by the press and activists after he started a study about the biology of criminals. In those days (early 80's) this was considered to be political incorrect. He got ill and depressed. Ultimately he left the world of science and went to Spain (he also had the international Jupiter rising before the sun).

Involuntary detachment: that is how Robert Hand 'translated' this aspect. Those two words seem to be the right words for Saturn-Neptune.

Saturn and hitting the floor

My mother broke her hip with transit Saturn on her Midheaven, soon after transit Saturn square her Sun. In her natal chart the Sun is inconjunct Saturn. That is perhaps why she hit the slippery stones real hard when she made a wrong move. Saturn's hard aspect is astrological for falling, biting the dust, hitting the floor and ... endings. She just left the operating room now that I write this, succeeded surgery. She is lucky if she is home before Xmas.

Earlier I wrote about Progressed Saturn conjunct natal Saturn and 'memento mori'.  I had noticed transit Saturn square her Sun at that time and saw that Saturn was on his way to a conjunction with MC. That worried me, because I know that Saturn is about aging, falling, ending periods…  One day she suddenly forgot who I was and, trying to avoid problems, I started with visiting her doctor and I hoped that it was finished for a year or so now that she got more aid, a perfect stable chair and bed and even better slippers. She was in good hands, in good order and taken care of. But: Saturn hadn't finished yet. Maybe you simply can't avoid Saturn. Especially not when there are more of such indications, like:

- Transit Chiron square Jupiter (ruler of the Ascendant), a symbolic word about healers around.
- Progressed Sun/Moon sesquisquare Uranus and semi sextile transit Saturn seems to reflect the excitement and nerves, the surgery and the limited possibility to move around.
- The fact that she was already unstable and she is old.

Of course, the situation is being mirrored in my chart.
When they called me, I was spending time in the caravan by the sea. It was with Transit Uranus exactly semi square my progressed Sun and Transit Neptune was inconjunct progressed Saturn. Uranus suddenly changes everything, like an alarm ringing in the morning. And Neptune-Saturn is the combination for illnesses and hospitals. I planned to have heavenly times by the sea and I end up by the side of a hospital bed. Hey, care taking and the sea, that is both Neptune and Pisces. Hospital must be the right spot for me in Saturn's eyes:)…
I am on the way to hospital!

History, astrology and computers

The best way to study astrology, in my opinion, is to check and study history. On my site Astromarkt there are three such studies:

In this study you will see that there were more revolutions starting without Uranus-Pluto in history, than with…Thought provoking, not?

Some astrologers said that there would be a world wide epidemic flu when Saturn was opposition Neptune. It turned out to be untrue. Of course, because history shows that there was never such an event when Saturn was opposition Neptune. In 3 out of 5 times Saturn-Neptune conjunctions ‘failed’ to reflect a world wide flu. Why not? Because Saturn has a 28-30 years cycle and massive epidemics are less frequent (thank God). So the Saturn-Neptune connection won’t help us to ‘see’ if there is epidemic flu coming. See the study…

Neptune is in Pisces and we are in the middle of a revolutionary time. I wondered if this corresponded with earlier positions of Neptune in Pisces, or in other words: what happened when Neptune entered Pisces in history? I didn’t find romantic dreams, I found revolutions related to ideology and religion in702, 866, 1029, 1193, 13571522, 1684 and 1848

LINK

I like to share a link to a story that shows how history could have been changed by laptops. Because that is a fact: computers help astrologers to discover more and more about the meaning of aspects, positions and charts. Thanks to the invention of the internet we have free access to a lot of information! Here you see the pictures. For better view, follow the link.

The transit Saturn opposition Moon experience

Ever experienced transit Saturn in hard aspect with progressed Moon? It is depressing! It is marking a nasty period to remember. For me it is about being ill too long and watching sad stories.

Remember that on October 6 I had an acute vertigo with Pr A/M opposition Neptune and shortly after an exact transit Saturn conjunct Neptune in Libra? It was very accurate 'Astrologic' for being ill in the field of balance (Libra). They told me that I would be cured in maximum 6 weeks. Most sites tell that and some people think that I should have been better because the books and sites say so. But it has been 8 weeks now and I am not much less dizzy and tired than it was 4 weeks ago! (Though I can write this post now and I couldn't do this in the first week, of course.) I had 3 days to remember how life was before the attack, and I had 47 days more or less seasick and tired. It's not as they said, but thanks to the internet I know that I am not the only exception at all! See the links for info and help in the UK ...It is a very interesting site about Labyrinthitis, written by two young women who have been suffering for months (or years)! I hope that I stop being 'dizzy' much sooner! But I couldn't help worrying, could I, with transit Saturn?

One day I will be OK, I know! That doesn't mean that I haven''t felt Saturn on my Moon! The aspect was exact last Sunday. That is when I watched a sad play (Ivan and the dogs, see YouTube) about the real life story of a homeless boy in Russia, who was sort of saved by dogs and in the end (unlike in the real life story) the dogs died! OMG! This didn't exactly help to make me feel happy! I love dogs (I have Sun sextile Neptune -read about Sun trine Neptune and dog lovers - and see the doggyscope on Astromarkt). It seems that I keep seeing sad stories everywhere! We are all in the middle of an economic and political depression, of course, and life is harder for others, I know, but I am glad that Saturn moves on. However, the old man is on his way to a square with Mars, just before Christmas. I will tell you what happened...

Today, I have one of those days that I would almost believe that the 'virus' (or whatever) has left my inner ear forever (but even though the Moon is in Sagittarius, I hesitate to start cheering).  I feel light and when I shake my head there is only a faint resonation of the movement. Can I see progress in the chart? Yes I can: Transit Jupiter sextile Jupiter. This should mean balance and equilibrium (that is what Hand says about this transit. For some reason there is a lot of balance in the text)! The transit will be exact very soon, on November 30. It will be exact again on January 20 2012 (with a number of transits indicating change and P Moon trine Venus). Maybe there is some progress in between! I consider the Pluto transit to be one of the indications of change and ... come backs! On December 20 transit Pluto is semi square my Progressed Sun. So, maybe just a few more weeks to go.

What happened to you with transit Saturn with Moon or Mars? And/or how for those who had vertigo once: what transits and progressions accompanied that in your life?

1. http://www.labyrinthitis.org.uk/ gives a lot of information!

2. When you have transit Saturn opposition Moon or progressed Moon it is even harder when you try to keep up appearances and look 'normal', even though the mirror shows the contrary. (Have you read the Moon-Saturn post yet?)

3. In the post about Progressed Moon signs and body care I told (myself) that I should take care with dying hair now that I have Progressed Moon in Aries. The day before I had the attack I paid a visit to the hair dresser!
4. In the post about aspect with Progressed Moon I mentined that with Saturn you tend to have low expectations and worry too much.
5. I have Prg Moon in the first house and this is what I wrote about that:
Progressed Moon through the first house: growing need to present yourself, emotional coming out
This progressed Moon changes your attitude and often also the way you look. People will tell you how you have changed and find you more attractive. Your emotional coming out might cost you a lot of handkerchiefs...
