The Iran deal and Jupiter

It is amazing how the symbol of success, Jupiter, pops up in charts related to the IranTalks deal yesterday. Here is a list:

- Jupiter is conjunct the Sun of Barack Obama, manifesting his happiness.
- Jupiter is quindecile the Sun of Hassan Rouhani, showing some kind of strong determination for success.
- As the USA's Pluto is conjunct the Progressed Sun of Rouhani, the same quindecile of Jupiter hits the USA's Pluto.
- Israel's leader Netanyahu has transit Jupiter in minor aspect with Progressed Sun (75 degrees), but it is still Jupiter.
- Jupiter is inconjunct the progressed Sun of the State of Israel and that sounds more like a success with a loss involved, even more because the Progressed Sun is opposition Pholus (turning point made by others).

 It is Jupiter all over! And Jupiter is a positive sign. That may be the reason why the deal is considered to be a good deal by almost all involved. The inconjunct with the chart of Israel is the symbol of lost balance that adds 'but...' when it says 'OK'.  The 75 degree aspect in Netanyahu's chart is in between the sextile and the square and in between OK and resistance.

This, BTW, doesn't give a judgement on the deal itself. Jupiter popped up in the chart of serial killer Marc Dutroux any time that he was released by a nice judge (see for example 'Jupiter the jolly judge'). Jupiter signals how one feels at that moment in time (from joy to relieve). Just click here to find many examples of (transits of) Jupiter...

Minor aspects, major effect and Kim Kardashian's transit Uranus

I like November, especially when I am in my house:). Outside it is stormy weather and it smells a bit like decay and rotten leaves. It is getting darker all the time.. So it is nice when there is something light and funny to talk about this time. It is about Kim Kardashian's behind, of course. Everybody is talking about that picture. So why not me? I wondered if there was a Uranus (typical this name) transit to explain the fact that the world is so obsessed about one woman's oily bottom. And of course, there was. It is a minor aspect and it is a special one. The quindecile (165 degree aspect) is the aspect of obsession and strong focus. The world has it's focus on her, right now. It is unexpected, it is controversial, people laugh about it and it is in the news. What more do you need to cry: Uranus? 

Kim Kardashian’s birth chart is AA-rated on Astrodatabank, so the time must be right. With that Pluto rising before the Sun, and Moon opposite Jupiter on the meridian, her chart 'covers' the popularity and fame. I wouldn't dare to point at the Ascendant for the behind, but it IS a Sagittarius Ascendant with Jupiter prominently on MC! Maybe you see more clues to the story. If you do, tell me, please. Here is the chart for you to see and calculate. Transit Uranus 14th degree Aries. Sun 29th degree Libra. 209-14=195-360=165. There you are.

 

Such a transit on the right moment makes me happy to use minor aspects.

Aries astrologer Dane Rudhyar

It is Aries time, time for the chart of an Aries astrologer. In 2008 I wrote about the chart of Dane Rudhyar, born March 23, 1895. I mentioned the creative quintiles, the musician and the astrologer in his chart. There is always Jupiter-Uranus in charts of astrologers and they were generous with Jupiter-Uranus combinations when Dave Rudhyar was born. Quoting myself:

 " In the chart of Rudhyar we see the Moon in Aquarius trine Jupiter, the combination of the calling Uranus and the ascendant in Sagittarius, but most of all the midpoint combinations with Jupiter and Uranus as an indication for the metier.

a. 157.5 is the well known sesquisquare (135d) + half semi square (22.5). It is a minor, but not to be overlooked aspect.

b. a 'calling' planet is a planet without major (Ptolemaic) aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. These planets show up at any kind of level, somehow and anyhow.

The Fukushima disaster chart and progressions

When I studied the progressed chart of the Fukushima disaster, I noticed how speedy Mercury was in those days. See the chart, and you know what I mean. There was an applying Mercury-Pluto square (nearly 5d orb) that perfected almost 2,5 days = 2,5 years after March 11, 2013. That is now, now that they communicated (Mercury) about a problem (Pluto) and danger (Pluto), that was 'born' on March 11, 2011.

I will have a special eye for applying aspects from now on to see if they have more impact later, than separating aspects have. 

Here is the chart with transits and progressions.

The Astro ID of the chart is:
- Sun in Pisces in 8th house is 'calling' (separating quintile with Pluto)
- Mars in Pisces in 8th house is 'calling' and rising before the Sun
- Neptune ruler 8 + ruler Sun and Mars is 'calling'
Sun/Neptune=Mars (Mars between Sun and Neptune)
The important Sun, Mars and Neptune sort of scream about a day when the god of the seas was at war, a day for a disaster. But the chart doesn't scream 'disaster'.

I posted about the mediocre charts of main disasters before (http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/02/mediocre-chart-positions-of.html ) and commented lated that there was a Pholus/Quaoar/Varuna midpoint combination in the charts of the Laki*) and Krakatau disaster. There is no such combination in the Fukushima chart, but there is a different and more complicated 'link'. There are minor and major aspects between Pholus, Quaoar and Varanu, created by Sun, Saturn and Pluto:
- In the Fukushima chart there is an inconjunct aspect of Quaoar (22d52 Sagittarius) and Varuna (21d10 Cancer), while Pholus is at 17d54 Sagittarius.
- Saturn is biquintile Quaoar and 157.5 d MC.
- Midpoint Quaoar/Varuna is square Pluto and Pluto is quintile Sun.
- The Sun is square Pholus/Quaoar and trine Varuna.
(Nessus and Sedna are also involved in this picture.)

MORE ASPECTS
An event chart requires narrow orbs, especially the orbs with MC and Ascendant. This is the chart of a special moment in time and place that had it's consequences. The minor aspects and the 'unusual' guys seem to make a difference in this chart.

The Moon is in the very first minutes of Gemini. There is an applying sesquisquare with Saturn, and that is a nasty aspect to look forward to, perfecting within a few hours on that day and within a few months in the progressed chart.
There is also a trine with Pallas, even closer.

Saturn is biquintile Quaoar. This mirrors the creation of a finale. Saturn is 157.5 d MC and that is a sesquisquare + half semi square.

The strongest aspect is that of Quaoar sesquisquare Midheaven.

In total the MC gives the tightest and strongest message.
Midheaven is trine Pluto, sesquisquare Quaoar and Juno, quintile Varuna, 75d Nessus, quintile Ceres, novile Lillith, half semi square Moon and there is the mentioned 157.5 d aspect with Saturn. The IC is quindecile Eris.

If you'd only consider the major aspect of MC trine Pluto you'd only notice an intense, challenging and dangerous moment THERE, causing stress and pressure. Such a moment happens every day, everywhere.  Here is was a moment for an earth quake, relieving stress and pressure. It takes more information to qualify the event. That shows that one single aspect doesn't tell the story...

BIRTHS IN DISASTER TIME
The aspects of charts are valid for more hours and minutes, some even for a major part of the day. Charts should be read in their context. When you were born with the above chart, you are probably someone who knows how to be in the center of attention, who can be very productive and/or very lazy (depending on what you do) and who knows how to deal with challenges and danger (simply by choosing an easy way out). It doesn't mean that you are 'a disaster':).

*) The Laki disaster 1783 chart also has Mars rising before the Sun.

The chart for talking for hours (re: Wendy Davis)

When I read that Wendy Davis talked for 11 hours in an attempt to stop the law against abortion in Florida, I wanted to know about her chart. Talking for so long is exceptional! What in her  chart indicates perseverance and communications, I wondered. So I produced her chart on Astro.com (without hour of birth) and I noticed that it is (again) a combination of skills, character and the right moment to show it.

You see:

1.  She has 5 to 6 positions in fixed signs. You know that the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) are the signs of strong will and being determined? She has Sun, Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Neptune and possible also the Moon in fixed signs!  It means that she will not stop when she meets resistance.

2. Talking about communications is talking about Mercury. Mercury is in Taurus, widely square Saturn (orb 4d+), conjunct Sun and maybe square the Moon (depending on the hour of birth). Mercury is also biseptile (2x septile = 2x51.42=102.8) Pluto. The Mercury-Saturn-Pluto combination is the political combination of strategic talking. It definitely served a political goal to talk for hours!

3. Why now? She has transit Uranus square Progressed Sun and transit Pluto sesquisquare natal sun. The Uranus-Pluto combination is the combination of revolt and protest. Uranus-Sun often brings a person 'in the news' and hard aspects with Pluto show stress situations.

PS The chart of  the day of birth of Wendy Davis has Jupiter rising before the Sun and calling! (no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees). That is a statement of conviction, optimism, the international... at any possible level.  There is also a tough Mars opposite Saturn to deal with.

Chart of Ted Bundy

Ted Bundy was born on November 24, 1946, just like Penelope Jones Halsall, a romantic novelist (passed away December 31, 2011). Ted Bundy became a notorious serial killer. Here is some information about the chart of Bundy and about the astrological situation on the day that he died. I'm not presenting a complete reading here. I just want to show you some of the keys to what happened.

Many others born on November 24, 1946 were decent, nice folks. The combination of circumstances, education, genes (!) and the hour of birth made the difference. Those born in the afternoon and evening of November 24, 1946, all have the Sun 'calling'. It means that they or their life styles will draw attention at any possible level, somehow, maybe as a star, or as a leader. Ted Bundy drew our attention by killing and by being executed.

Maybe the importance of the theme of death (Mars-Saturn) rises because of Ascendant sesquisquare Mars/Saturn (meaning the frustrating dead end on the horizon). He had the strength (Mars trine Pluto) and the energy (5 placements in fire signs) to do it and the desire for excitement (and falling in love again and again). He also wasn't afraid of 'discord' (Venus sesquisquare Eris). 

 Women, love and desire had a key position in his chart (AC/MC-Venus). It is strange to find Ascendant/Midheaven opposition Venus here, but it is true: women were of crucial importance. 

MOON, VENUS, NEPTUNE and ASCENDANT (artistic presentation)

He managed to look like a nice guy. The combination of Moon, Venus and Neptune is the combination of artistic talent. All three were in aspect with the Ascendant. His appearance and behaviour was a 'work of art'. He acted. Women thought that he was polite and when he asked them to help him get some books into his van, they were willing to help him.

SUN SEPTILE NEPTUNE RULER 8 (inspired by fantasy of death)
There is a minor, hidden aspect that tells us more about that acting and about what was hiding: Sun ruler 1 septile Neptune ruler 8. Can I read this like : he was inspired (septile) by acts (1) of life and death (8)?

SUN/MOON square SATURN/NEPTUNE (motivated by/used to sadness and sickness)
As Ted Bundy is not an ordinary person, his chart can't be read as that of normal persons. Sun/Moon (249,98) square Saturn/Neptune (159,5) sounds like being motivated by sickness and sadness. It might be 'part of the picture'. Sadness and sickness might always have been part of his life experiences, too.

DEATH

When he committed the first of the eerie of rapes and murders, transit Saturn was opposition his Progressed Sun and the progressed Sun was moving to Capricorn. He ended a period in life.

When his life on earth ended, there were more than 10 transits and progressions at the same time. When there is a very important period, there are almost always many indications. 

Bundy had two trines when he died (transit Jupiter trine Progressed Ascendant, transit Venus trine Midheaven) as if a wish came true. Five inconjunctions told us about a heavy loss:
. Progressed Midheaven inconjunct Sun/Moon
. Transit Saturn inconjunct Saturn
. Transit Mars inconjunct Sun
. Progressed MC inconjunct Sun/Moon
. Transit Pallas inconjunct Progressed Ascendant

There were two exact aspects:

1. Progressed Sun conjunct progressed Mars, ruler 8 in the progressed chart, in the progressed 4th house.
2. Transit Mars sextile Progressed Moon

When your (progressed) chart met your partner's...

When you met your partner, did your progressed charts connect with each other or with the partner's natal chart? It is often so. When I met my husband, his progressed Saturn*) was exactly conjunct my natal Descendant (and that is how we got stuck together:). Also, my progressed Mars was trine his natal Sun. There is a time for everything, and maybe there is a time for meeting each other, too...

This month March the interaction between two charts will be in the spotlights here. And just like in a love story I start with 'meeting each other'. 

" People meet or get to know each other at the moment that they share the same kind of situation or period in their life. Both partners are at the same time searching for hapiness or are sharing a good or bad moment and that 'connects' them. At least, you would think so when you see their progressed charts! The moment of meeting a person seems to be connected to the moment that your were born. That is what the astrology of meeting is about: to see the right time for loving."

Here is another one about love: the meeting of King Harald of Norway and his wife Sonja.

When King Harald V met his wife Sonja, his progressed Sun was conjunct Saturn, ruler 7. Her progressed Venus was inconjunct his Mars. His progressed Mars was trine his progressed Sun and Saturn and his progressed Venus was square her progressed Sun. A rather complicated picture, but it shows controlled passion and a period of strong love.

Of course, in order to meet somebody, you must be prepared to meet somebody, or you just don't notice the man or woman. And vice versa! It hurts when you fall in love and the other doesn't.  Take for example the first time that Prince Charles and Camilla met and he didn't notice her. Quote:

In June 1971, during a polo match, Camilla and Charles met for the first time. She had progressed Venus conjunct natal Saturn and semi square progressed Uranus. He had no special progressions at all. Her progressed ascendant is at the time of the meeting exactly sesqui square his progressed Jupiter. This all means that she had a bad period for love and was limited in her choices, but that she had met a chance for being happy (Jupiter), too soon (sesquisquare).

Sometimes, people meet without starting a relationship, yet. A semi square with Venus describes a senseless love. Bernadette Brady refers to semi squares as a 'frustrating not'. Sesquisquares with Jupiter however are supposed to bring advantages in a later stade!

Apparently Charles and Camlla had to marry someone else, first. It is not only for the sort of aspectation that love was not answered at the time. Saturn and Uranus together refer to limitations of freedom and independency. Venus with Uranus often points at falling in love. Saturn is the planet of responsibilities, status and 'timing'. Shall we see this as 'untimy falling-in-love'?

And, if that is so, was all this 'ment to be' or just coincidence?

Tudor Henry VIII (Bluebeard)

Recently seen 'The Tudors'? I can't watch it, it is just too horribly true. It is about the life of Henry VIII, nickname Bluebeard, who didn't only had two of his wives murdered, but also had many others killed, tortured and banned. And often that was because of his desires. This selfish and completely unpredictable English king didn't have an astrologer, as far as I know. But he had a chart. The chart doesn't immediately show his true character. We see Venus on Midheaven and Jupiter rising before the Sun (the optimist,the international - he spoke a few languages -). Venus and Jupiter, that is a party! And he liked to eat a lot and have a lot of wedding parties. Venus was square the Ascendant and Jupiter quintile, so the ladies loved his looks. He wrote his own music, too. Such a charming young man. And so cruel. 

He became the king of England on June 23, 1509, just 18, soon after his brother died and married the woman who was supposed to be his brother's wife. In June Progressed Mercury is square Midheaven and transit Pluto is inconjunct the natal Sun (self esteem problem, too much stress, matters of life and death).  Transit Pluto had just been opposition progressed Midheaven. It is an intense period in his life. 

There is a perfect trine between progressed Mars and natal Saturn (an act of duty, a matter of death). And we see transit Jupiter trine natal Moon to show us how happy the memorable moment was....It is the mix of duty, stress, death and glory that is in line with the event. He married 12 days earlier, with transit Neptune (ruler 7) inconjunct the Ascendant, with his death brother's wife (who said that the marriage had not been consumated). It seems that he even loved her for a couple of years. She was the first, but not the last and not his everything...

From that moment on he turned into a man abusing his power. Read it on the internet (links are here) or see ' The Tudors'. 

Where is the hidden tyrant in the chart? It is in the minor aspects, as all hidden characteristics are. And it is in the circumstances (he had full and absolute power over life and death, though there was a so called judge). We see the combination of Sun, Mars, Saturn and Pluto (unnatural deaths) Mars half semi square Pluto and trine Saturn in the progressed chart (when the blood shedding started). But it is also in the natal chart. The Sun is square Mars/Pluto

Sun is 157.5 (sesquisquare + half semisquare) Saturn and quintile Mars  and 105d Pluto

That is the combination of 'unnatural death' as an issue in life. There is a long list of deaths in his name.

Also Venus opposition Mars/Saturn is not the nicest combination in love as it means death end sympathies and ending passions.  We see Venus inconjunct Pluto, tightly, for the money issue (and for intense desire at a certain price). And it were the wives who paid the price. Venus = Mars/Saturn and inconjunct Pluto.

It is not that a person has to become a tyrant and a Bluebeard with these aspects. It is that he had the chance to use the darkest sides of his personality.  The most important 'finding' is that is good to have democracies. But we don't need astrology to know that.

Lot of children

What is the astrological recipe for having many (more than an average number of) children? I think that it takes a combination of indications like:

- an important Mars (for production), 

- planets in the 5th house of children

- and for enjoying it: Venus-Jupiter! 

That is what I see in the example charts. Of course, it is important to know circumstances (where you live, what is 'normal'). In China you ought to have 1 child, and in other parts of the world women keep getting as many children as they can (wanted or not). I don't have their charts, unfortunately, but I have the charts of two persons in my Western world whose number of children was important enough to be mentioned in the press. The example charts are those of Nadya Suleman (14 children) and Rod Stewart (7 up to now). He is in the news these days, because he is expecting his 8th child in March 2011 (with Transit Saturn on his Ascendant). That is when he will be 68! 

Chart of Anna Chapman's day of birth

Anna Chapman is a Russian/British business woman recently deported back to Russia in a spy ‘trade’. With transit Jupiter conjunct the progressed Sun, traveling could be included…J Jupiter is the symbol of the international. Anna Chapman was hot international news.

Anna Chapman was born Anna Kushhenko in Volgograd and this is about the chart of her day of birth, with transits and progressions for today. Wikipedia mentions that she is well educated and that she married twice. She grew up in Russia and worked in London in 2001 (age 19). The Sun square Uranus, both afflicted by Mars, and the semi sesquisquare Sun-Neptune are part of her chart and life story. They show us how she was/will be a stranger in communities and how she was/is not always clear about herself.... Her Mars-Uranus affliction is shared by two famous spies: Mata Hari and Christine Keeler. 

Spain's national chart and the championship

Of course you know that Spain won the WC2010 in South Africa! Enhorabuena! The Spanish team is now  the champion in the world of football!

Isn't such an event a perfect moment to find the true national astrology chart? I thought it was. So, I had a look at the national charts of Spain (there exist more than 1) to see which one is corresponding with the present Spanish victory and joy. I based my choice on the fact that there is a strong indication for success in the transits and progression for this chart of Spain (minor transits of Pluto and Jupiter with progressed Mars )  in the one of 1975 (inauguration of King Juan Carlos).

Gary Coleman and the Pholus-Uranus transit

The Uranus-Pholus combination that I mentioned in the post about David Laws and his lost job (and a father losing his child) can be seen in the chart of Bryant Neals Vinas and shows up in the transits of GARY COLEMAN’s death:

transit Pholus 13.75 d Sagittarius is 75 degrees (minor aspect) from Uranus (28.65 d Virgo) and 75 degrees from transit Neptune, while transit Neptune is inconjunct Uranus. It is a Uranus-Neptune-Pholus combination.

Uranus and Pholus together mirror a sudden turning point. Neptune and Uranus are the symbols of sleep and awakening and an inconjunction between them shows problems or fluctuations in the processes (being in trance, coma or unconscious). That was one of the symptoms on the final day of Coleman.

PS Astrological symbols have many associated meanings. When Uranus-Neptune is not fysical, the transits and/or progressions often reflect a ' bad press'.

'Grey Owl' Archie Belaney and Neptune

Archibald Belaney pretended to be ‘ Grey Owl’, protected the environment (and beavers), fooled King George (even tapped him on his shoulder), was a bigamist and an alcoholic and died too young, 49 years old and disabled with progressed Sun square Saturn. Saturn is the first planet rising before his natal Sun, so that the progression resonated (hit harder). He was an author, too, btw.

I saw a little piece of an old documentary about his life and I immediately thought of Sun-Neptune. Then I had the chart calculated by Astro.com and I noticed that the Sun didn’t make any major aspects in sign o r orb 5 degrees (that can be interpreted as " drawing attention somehow" ). There was however a minor aspect between Sun and Neptune: 112.5 degrees (that is a square and a half semi square). Am I who I think that I am or am I who others say that I am, that is often the question with Sun-Neptune. In extreme cases life can be an act in itself. Archie Belaneuy was a fraud pur sang, no mistakes about that, with a double life. Minor aspects are often reflecting the less notioned characteristics of a person. See for example ' The chart behind the chart' about O.J. Simpson. Archibald Belaney is regarded to be one of the first environmentalists.

It would be nice to have his hour of birth but I couldn’t find it on the internet.

Could Stieg Larsson write?

Stieg Larsson (real name: Karl Stig-Erland Larsson) is a famous Swedish author. He wrote best sellers like 'The girl who played with fire'. He died five years ago and his long time partner, Eva Gabrielsson, was left without a penny. She now wants part of the millions saying that she did more than just editing his detectives...Now a journalist (Anders Hellberg) says that Stieg Larsson couldn't even write! So the question is: what does his chart say about writing talents?

WHAT DOES HIS CHART TELL US?
There is no hour of birth for Stieg Larsson. Here you see the chart with the positions at noon on his birthday and the transits for the day that he died with transit Saturn exactly inconjunct Mars ('unbalancing end of energy, with a lost involved'). There were a few calling planets in his birth chart: Mercury, Venus and Jupiter. This trio is the combination of having a talent for communications. He was a communicator at any possible level (Mercury without major aspects), he was talented (Venus calling) and he was a success (Jupiter). There are 2 quintiles on his day of birth: Sun quintile Saturn and Venus quintile Uranus. Quintiles promise creativity in a certain field. His chart shows possible talent and success. The isolated Moon in Pisces with the ' calling' Venus in Libra is part of the pattern of artistic talent that is so common in the charts of authors, artists and musicians (as you can see on Art&Astrology).

It is also clear that he would write detectives or mysterious books. The Sun is sextile Neptune and conjunct Pluto. The combination with Neptune and Pluto is the combination of the 'silent force' and is often seen in the charts of discrete people who deal with secrets and mysteries, like Agatha Christie. I also like to point at the combination of Sun quintile Saturn and sextile Neptune (illnesses) and Sun quintile Saturn in combination with the conjunction with Pluto (the 'die hard'). The effect of the combination don't only show up in the nature of his books, they also match with the way he lived (on a secret address because of death threads coming from ultra right extremists; Larsson was a communist.).
The first planet rising before his Sun is Mercury, 'calling'. Next is Uranus. He was a journalist first, communicating news items. Later he started writing thrillers (very Uranian).

NOT A WRITER?
Maybe the syntax really was mad and the language as bad as Dagens Nyheter journalist Anders Hellberg says on Lesley Riddoch's site. Maybe it is true that Larsson asked him to have 'a look 'at what he wrote, because he was a weak writer. And maybe it was his partner who did most of the writing. But then, how did he manage to become a famous and wealthy author? Was he so good at delegating? Mercury is semi sesquisquare Neptune in his natal chart. It is a combination of planets that seems to be part of suspicion and rumours. It is also the combination of miscommunications (weak - Neptune - writing - Mercury-). Also the Sun is quintile Saturn. That is the combination for a creative manager, someone who is creative in being the one in charge. The minor aspects in his chart show us a man with fantasy who might communicate (write and speak) at any possible level, with a frustrating 'mist' around his words. He was successful in finding editors. Jupiter is 'calling' and Jupiter is the planet of the helpers and...editors.

SO...
His critics say that he was good at research and a bad writer. Perhaps that is true. But he was also a creative person with great ideas (Mercury and Jupiter 'calling') and he managed to earn a lot of money (Jupiter semi quintile Pluto) with HIS name on the cover. The chart of the day of his birth shows the potential of a creative writer or at least a messenger with talents.

Charts don't judge. Charts show potentials. Charts also show controversies. The chart of the day of his birth shows the potential of a creative writer, someone with great ideas or at least a messenger with talents. It's also the chart of a creative manager and of someone who doesn't write or speak clearly. I would have loved to have his hour of birth and to know the day of birth of his partner Eva Gabrielsson to see how they cooperated and matched. It is an interesting mystery...

There is a lot of upheavel in Sweden about the position of Larsson's 'widdow' and there is even a site that asks you to donate for her.

The Lunar Eclipse and Mrs.Robinson's past affair

The Lunar Eclipse of last December (at 9CAP15) was conjunct the Jupiter of PM Robinson. This eclipse might have the potential to twist his political (and domestical) fate. And the eclips certainly revealed a big problem, coming from the past. His wife admitted that she had an affair two years ago. Allegations about financial affairs related to this, forced her to tell the world about it. Peter Robinson’s political enemies are very willing to benefit from the situation, of course. Mrs. Robinson (what is in a name?) suffers from depression now. How important can an affair be in poliics?

There is no hour of birth, so there is no complete info. However, there is some insight in the situation by comparing their natal positions.. I wouldn't want to add more to the fire, so I stick to linking to the relevant posts on this blog. They managed to stick together in spite of the revealed secrets and yes, their suns are matching. There is information on Astromarkt about sharing Mercury-Neptune (sharing secrets?) and Sun-Saturn aspects (for consistency). That explains. Also see the posts with examples about Mars opposition Mars in a relationship. Conflicts between Mars seem to have an effect that starts with stimulating each other and easily ends up with competition and fighting each other. In the charts of Iris and Peter, Mars doesn't make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. That contributes to the impact of the opposition between their Mars.

The positions on the day of birth show the conflict between the status of marriage and Iris Robinson falling in love (Venus 105 Uranus), but hidden (minor aspect). At least, it was hidden until the Lunar Eclipse.

The Moon and the women in Tiger Woods' chart

Again and again I see minor aspects having major impact and I see how minor aspects reveal the real person behind the chart. In Tiger Woods’ chart Jupiter in the 7th house is reflecting a trend to have more than one partner (see the post about that), but at first sight he doesn’t have the usual aspects for divorce*) in the chart of man. But, at second sight…

Tiger Woods’ prominent Sagittarian Moon (opposition Midheaven) IS afflicted by Saturn and Neptune. There are parallel aspects. Moon is parallel Neptune and contraparallel Saturn. That gives him 2 out of 4 potential problems to keep a relationship going. It means that parallels and contra parallels have an effect. It is as if there is a need to escape (Moon-Neptune) and a lack of sens of responsibility (Moon-Saturn).
David Letterman has the same kind of afflictions and he also came to confessions during aspects with Uranus.

INTENSE NEED TO BREAK FREE (discretely)
There is another difficulty. That is Moon quintile Pluto. This aspect expresses strong needs and a creative way to submit to these needs. He is rich and famous enough to be able to get whatever he needs. The intensity of habits can be a domestic problem. See the post about Moon and Pluto…
Uranus on his Descendant disturbed his relationship in a shocking way. Uranus is semi square the Moon in the natal chart. Perhaps he needs tension, excitement and adventures. He needs changes and different stages. His personal life is rather hectic. Maybe he found those needs in matches, before. The combination of minor aspects of Moon with Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto could be read as a need to break free in a discrete way. Unfortunately, Uranus is for exposure. And with transit Uranus opposition Ascendant there is a slight chance that your ‘ ways of doing it’ will be exposed.

AC/MC and Pallas
There is hard aspect between the crucial midpoint AC/MC with Pallas, symbol of patterns. I think that his abilities on the field are related to being able to see patterns. Pallas is often important in the charts of artistic and talented persons who need to be able to see matching lines and structures. On Art&Astrology you may find several examples of that. The transit of Uranus is about to hit Pallas and later AC/MC. Maybe a certain pattern (Pallas) will change and maybe there will be a completely new Tiger Woods when Uranus moves on to find another celebrity to be the next hype on the internet. In the meantime Uranus has offered both Tiger and Elin a chance to make a fresh new start.

I want to point at the earlier post about Matt Damon. Matt Damon is a man in control. Matt Damon has Moon trine Saturn and that makes it easy to control needs. Tiger Woods’ Moon contra parallel with Saturn works as an opposition. It is a ??? if he manages to control his needs…Apparently he can’t.

*)What are those aspects? They are: Moon afflicted by Saturn and/or Neptune, Venus afflicted by Neptune and Mars afflicted by Uranus, according to late Dutch astrologer Ram (and indeed, it is still valid). (A conjunction with difficult planets should be regarded as an affliction.)

Chart of Mackenzie (and John) Philips

Just saw Mackenzie Philips (daugther of John Philips - Mamas and Papas) being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey because of the release of her book (High on Arrival) about the incest with her father.*) Yes, Oprah's shows come late in my country...:)
I noticed that several astrologers have been discussing the matter. I see that some use her chart to call her a fraud. (With transit Neptune semi square progressed Sun you are often seen in a negative light and Mackenzie has that transit right now...)

One of the arguments for calling her a fraud is, that there is no aspect between Mars and Pluto. Indeed, no major aspect! But: in fact there IS an aspect...In hers and in his: a minor hard aspect!

SHARED MINOR MARS-PLUTO ASPECTS
John has Pluto rising before the Sun. Mackenzie has Mars rising before the Sun. She has a minor aspect between Mars and Pluto (67.5 d, a sesquisemisquare) and so has he: a 112.5 degree aspect (square + half semi square)!
They share a minor Mars-Pluto aspect.
And each of them has one of the planets involved rising before the Sun!

The Mars-Pluto connection is often illustrating the use and abuse of power and force, and having to defend oneself. On Astromarkt I write about sharing such aspects:

Minor aspects often give insight in the person behind the person that we see (or the chart behind the chart, see the links, scroll down). Minor aspects between Mars and Pluto show concealed problems with aggression.

CHART
Here you see her natal chart (data by Astrodatabank) and the positions on August 30, 1935, the day that Papa John was born. Pluto is of importance in the synastry. It must have been a tense relationship, indeed.

MUTUAL PLUTO ASPECTS
Pluto is the symbol of all that is related to 8th house affairs like sexuality, for example.
- His Pluto is on her Ascendant
- Her Pluto is conjunct his Sun
(John's Mars and Jupiter are conjunct her Sun).
The strong aspects with Pluto are indicating a tense relationship and possible questions of authority and power.

GOLDEN YOD
On Cafe Astrology you can find that Sun quintile Pluto might mean: 'You have a creative drive that gives you the ability to express yourself with a little extra zip and impact than most people. " Astrology Weekly speaks of 'developing self-punishing styles of behaviour'. I think that both interpretations met in the interview that I watched!:)

Mackenzie Philips has the Sun quintile Pluto and both are biquintile Midheaven.
So, Mackenzie has a 'golden yod' between Sun, Pluto and Midheaven. Perhaps that is illustrating the possibility to be a 'survivor' and create a carreer based on that or that you have the ability and talent to find a way to survive or come back. But as Pluto is involved, it implies that it won't be easy...

TALENT
Mackenzie is a singer and a writer. She has Venus in Libra and Cancer Ascendant, with the Moon opposition Venus and biquintile Neptune (Venus is semi quintile Neptune). That is the complete pattern of artistic talent and the connection is with creative quintiles! Also, with ruler Midheaven (Jupiter) in the 5th house, she is bound to look for expression and creativity in her career.

Mercury semi square Sun/Moon expresses being motivated by communicating and using the voice or pen.
Pluto square AC/MC tells us that the issue of life and death, power, money, sexuality and influence is of crucial importance in her life. Pluto is connecting Midheaven and Sun by quintiles. And there is the creative touch again!

LIFE CHANGING MOMENTS
When he died (in 2001) her progressed Sun changed sign and her lifestyle started changing. The first progressive aspect was a square with natal Moon on Aries Point: she had to find a whole new 'modus vivendi'.
When the affair started (in 1988) it was her father's progressed Sun that changed sign...

JUPITER AND PLUTO ON INTERVIEW DAY
On the day of the interview with Oprah, transit Jupiter was exactly square her natal Sun, to indicate a successful day. Jupiter rules her sixth house and is in the fifth. Jupiter is the final dispositor of Midheaven, too. It is obvious that the attention for her creative product was fortunate. Also the Progressed Ascendant was conjunct natal Pluto, ruler of the 5th house of creations. Jupiter and Pluto often indicate a great moment of growth. In the progressed (secondary) chart, the positions of Sun and Neptune would create a sextile in 6 weeks time (perhaps it was about time to relax now that the work was done).

Hidden problem with agression (Mars-Pluto minor aspect)

Staf van Eyken is a Belgian murderer who killed three women. The first one was murdered on October 13, 1971 with progressed Mars conjunct natal Mars and transit Pluto inconjunct natal Sun. This combination of transits activated the existing semi-and biquintile combination of Sun, Mars and Pluto in the natal chart. This apparently also activated a hidden (minor aspect) problem (Pluto) with aggression (Mars)*). His nickname is 'The Vampire' because he also bit them. He got the death penalty but that was changed into life in prison.

Today he heard that he will never leave jail for the rest of his life. In this period the issue of restricted liberty is symbolised by the transit Saturn conjunct progressed Saturn and Uranus square his progressed Sun**).

His hour of birth is unknown, so we can only see the potential for violence for the day of birth. First of all, he has Sun sextile Jupiter and sextile Uranus, tightly, with an oriental Jupiter. Perhaps that makes him optimist enough to ask for permission to have weekends off (from jail). There is a tight combination of aspects between Venus, Saturn and Neptune that I have seen more often in the charts of killers. Perhaps it is the reflection of lack of empathy with the victims. Van Eyken has Venus opposition Saturn and inconjunct Neptune. This goes together with Mars semi quintile Pluto and biquintile Sun, for a creative way to use or abuse violence or force.

Circumstances like the abuse by his steph father probably activated this potential in the wrong way. Tony Danza was born 21 April 1951 in Brooklyn. He is an actor and used to be a wrestler and a professional boxer (using force and strength). It is also the day of birth of a famous mathematician, a drummer and a hockey player. The personal chart (with hour) + the circumstances + genes are the ingredients for the mix that creates the individual. Without an hour of birth we don't know the Ascendant, the degree of the Moon, the midpoints Sun/Moon or ASC/MC or the angular positions. They are extemely important for an Astro I.D. As you may see on this blog, circumstances, education, gender (hormones!), genes and social culture have a hughe impact on the individual. They make the difference.

Alan Turing, the chart of a genius

June is the month of birth and death of Alan Turing. His name was mentioned in a lecture about cryptanalysis and I quickly noted it. Here is his chart. Several sources mention this day, place and hour of birth.

CHART OF ALAN TURING

Alan Turing was a mathematician, logician and cryptanalyst. We owe him a lot because he broke German ciphers during WWII using the Enigma machine, one of the first steps to computers. However, there was no gratitude of the authorities, since they prosecuted him for being homosexual. His death is named suicidal but his family doubts that. It could have been accidental death because he died after consuming a poisoned apple...Or did he know too much?
(Unnatural death cause might be reflected by the minor aspects between Mars and Saturn (75 degrees) and between Mars and Pluto (semi square). Minor aspects are sometimes of great importance. They reveal obscure aspects. Find out more about that on this blog...*)

Posthumous recognition came in 1966. There is now an annual Turing Award given by the Association for Computing Machinery.

PALLAS, JUPITER AND URANUS (inventive patterns)
Turing had Pallas conjunct IC, Uranus on Midheaven and Jupiter on the Descendant. Pluto was rising before the Sun, conjunct Venus and the Sun was inconjunct Midheaven. The prominence of Pallas refers to the prominence of PATTERNS (...). Uranus with Midheaven is not only for being controversial in a disproportionate way (inconjunct Sun). Uranus also refers to techniques and mathematics. Mathematical patterns were of crucial importance.
Turing was inventive. He is one of the persons who founded a basis for computer technology. Jupiter and Uranus (symbols of the inventive mind) are angular, with Pallas...That means that he is inventive in finding patterns.

He had an orientation on Pluto-related affairs: money, influence, power, politics, danger, cases of life and death and sexuality, strongly going together with the earning money and intense sympathies and desires. Venus and Pluto are semi sextile Saturn, reflecting a possible disadvantage regarding the axis of money and love-sex nature. He had to undergo cruel chemical castration as a sort of a punishment for being gay; otherwise he had to go to jail! That was in the year before he died, in 1954.

PROMINENT
It takes a lot of prominent planets to become prominent. Alan Turing had six 'calling' planets (planets with no aspect within 5 degrees and within sign):

Sun without major aspects
Mercury without major aspects
Jupiter without major aspects and conjunct Descendant
Saturn without major aspects
Uranus without major aspects and conjunct Midheaven
Neptune without major aspects

Those are 6 out of 10 planets! This offers many chances and abilities. Jupiter and Uranus are the most important planets. So is Pluto (because Pluto rises before the Sun). Just like in the chart of Igor Stravinsky (see my blog Art&Astrology http://art-astrology.blogspot.com/2009/06/astrology-chart-igor-stravinsky.html), the prominence of the Uranus-Pluto combination lead to an arrest.

INCONJUNCTIONS
There are two inconjunctions: Mercury is inconjunct Jupiter for exaggerating facts. The Sun is inconjunct Uranus for being controversial (different from the rest) in a disproportionate way. Inconjunctions refer to 'lost'. The lost of a dear friend in 1930 (with Venus inconjunct MC in the progressed chart) hurt him deeply. Inconjunctions also refer to a 'but...'. The Mercury-Jupiter combination involves successful communication. But...the inconjunction tells us that he talked too much or...knew too much, just as the title of the book about him (written by David Leavitt) mentions...

PS MC is 157.5 degrees from Neptune/Pluto, Sun is conjunct Pluto (out of sign) and half semi square Neptune. The Neptune/Pluto combination reflects the theme of the silent force, hidden power and the dangerous secrets that is often found in the charts of magicians, and of detectives, too. The broken arm of Margareth Thatcher

Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (age 83) broke her arm on June 12. In the tertiary horoscope she had Jupiter trine Midheaven. Also, in her progressed chart Jupiter is conjunct the Ascendant (a growing aspect). So perhaps they take well care of her...The indications for a possible incident are rather obscure. They are to be found in the minor aspects and in the primary chart. Also the charts tell us that it was a sort of a hectic day in combination with a period of incidents and upheavel in her life. An explanation is that maybe the incident is just as 'minor' in her own experience and eyes and already forgotten. She has dementia. Here are the findings:

1. Hectic day
It was a day of a solar transit*) with Mercury and Uranus (transit Sun square natal Uranus and opposition natal Mercury). In her natal chart Mercury is inconjunct Uranus. This aspect does not only imply differences of opinion or controversial ideas. It is also an indication of 'changing your mind' rather abruptly with the possibility of losing balance (inconjunction) and accidents (Uranus). The solar transit activated this aspect. It was a day of being distracted somehow and a day for unpleasant surprises.

2. Forcing a limb
There is a quindecile of transit Mercury (trine Ascendant) with Saturn, perfectly reflecting breaking (Saturn) a limb (Mercury) forcing (quindecile) things.

3. Falling down
Transit Saturn 75 degrees from Progressed Midheaven: condition or status getting worse.

4. Life changing the hard way, by means of sudden incidents
Primary Sun (26.55 Sagittarius) square transit Uranus (26.465 Pisces): this is again an alarming signal of possible incidents/accidents, especially at her age.

5. Relief, but...
Primary Jupiter semi sextile transit Uranus (a relief, but...)

6. Hurt feelings
Transit Venus was exactly inconjunct Mars. I have no idea what that aspect has got to do with it, except that it points at extraordinary passion with possible hurt feelings. And indeed, she got hurt.
