Bruce Jenner, Uranus and the Porphyry house system

This morning I was studying the chart of a man who's in the news: Bruce Jenner, an athlete who is about to change gender.

In 'The Chart and Sexuality' I compared the charts of 5 transsexuals. I noted that:
1. all had the Sun strongly related to both Venus and Mars
Bruce Jenner's chart has Sun semi square Venus and sextile Mars.
2. 3 out of 5 had Venus in aspect with Pluto or in Scorpio and the 4th had Venus exactly trine Pholus
Bruce Jenner's chart has Venus trine Pluto and semi quintile Pholus.
3. MC or the midpoint AC/MC was in strong aspect with Sedna always
Bruce Jenner's chart has Sedna/MC midpoint sesquisquare Ascendant instead.
3. Pholus was either conjunct or inconjunct or semi sextile MC or midpoint AC/MC
Bruce Jenner's chart has Pholus/MC square the Ascendant instead.
I also wrote that a number of 5 transsexuals is not enough for statistics and that the aspects refer to problems and change more than to transsexuality.
There is also the fact that every change of gender has it's own specific story and chart. Bradley Manning (December 17, 1987) has Sun semi sextile Venus and novile Mars (with Venus half semi square Mars) AND Sun conjunct Uranus. Somehow, a Sun-Uranus aspects almost always mirrors estrangement, alienation, and being 'different' one way or another.

This is not 'just' the reading of the chart of Bruce Jenner. His chart and the position of Uranus reminded me of the years of experimenting with house systems (and deciding to avoid houses if possible:).

I read that this process started at age 60 and noticed that:
a. his natal chart has a perfect trine between Sun and Uranus (symbol of controversy, 'the news maker',  independence and change)
b. his progressed Sun was opposition Uranus at age 60
c. Uranus was in Placidus 9th house
and then I decided to change house system.
In the Porphyry house system Uranus is in the 8th house of sexuality. Right now, the progressed Moon of Bruce Jenner is in the 8th house, too.

 I like the Porphyry house system because this system also puts the Mars in Scorpio of Bill Cosby in the 8th house instead of in 7 (nothing wrong with that 'an sich': Barack Obama's Mars in Virgo also moves to the 8th house in Porphyry's house system).

Wikipedia mentions about this system:
"Each quadrant of the ecliptic is divided into three equal parts between the four angles. This is the oldest system of quadrant style house division. Although it is attributed to Porphyry of Tyros, this system was first described by the 2nd-century astrologer Vettius Valens, in the 3rd book of his astrological compendium known as The Anthology.<sup>[ci"

In my own chart there are 6 moves! Moon from 12 to 11. Mercury from 11 to 10, Mars from 12 to 11. Juno from 8 to 9. Neptune from 7 to 8. And Uranus from 5 to 4. This system also changes house rulerships.</sup> 

The fact that there are so many house systems makes me think that there is no perfect one.  But for a number of reasons, I like this one.

Mars fighting (chart of today July 17, 2014)

My progressed Moon is moving to a trine with Mars, and that is a good sign if you need some energy and action. The actual chart of today, however, shows that Mars is in trouble. Why? Well, Mars is square Sun and in conflict with Ceres, Sedna and Eris. There is also a link (by means of minor aspects) to the Saturn inconjunct Uranus aspect (see that post). It is vibrating with heat.

Sun square Mars and Eris is an aspect combination for war (see the chart of Pearl Harbor http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2010/12/chart-of-pearl-harbor-december-7-1941.html )  The Sun is now highlighting the tendency to start fights and wars. 'Make love not war' is not in the air tonight.

Here is the chart, drawn for Rotterdam, but the aspects are valid all over the world. This chart mirrors the problems.

Besides Sun- Eris Mars must deal with Saturnus inconjunct Uranus (related to the chart of Israel) . That is, because there is a 112.5 degree minor aspect with the Sun and a 157.5 degree minor aspect with Eris. 

Moreover: Mars is conjunct Ceres (basics, food, dynasties and genes) and Vesta (dedication). Sedna is inconjunct Mars and sextile Sun. Sedna is seen as the symbol of the feeling of betrayal.

How complicated! It is the perfect mirror of the situation in the world today. If the present Sun or Mars is in aspect with your natal or progressed chart, you could expect to be affected by the overheated and speeding nature of Mars and get involved in conflicts or suffer an injury (depending also on your individual chart and situation). Take care!

This weekend the fighting Mars sees the Moon in Aries. Mind your eyes and head and wear something red if you want to join the party up there. If you can't join them, beat them! Maybe it is a good idea to start counting to 10.

The Fukushima disaster chart and progressions

When I studied the progressed chart of the Fukushima disaster, I noticed how speedy Mercury was in those days. See the chart, and you know what I mean. There was an applying Mercury-Pluto square (nearly 5d orb) that perfected almost 2,5 days = 2,5 years after March 11, 2013. That is now, now that they communicated (Mercury) about a problem (Pluto) and danger (Pluto), that was 'born' on March 11, 2011.

I will have a special eye for applying aspects from now on to see if they have more impact later, than separating aspects have. 

Here is the chart with transits and progressions.

The Astro ID of the chart is:
- Sun in Pisces in 8th house is 'calling' (separating quintile with Pluto)
- Mars in Pisces in 8th house is 'calling' and rising before the Sun
- Neptune ruler 8 + ruler Sun and Mars is 'calling'
Sun/Neptune=Mars (Mars between Sun and Neptune)
The important Sun, Mars and Neptune sort of scream about a day when the god of the seas was at war, a day for a disaster. But the chart doesn't scream 'disaster'.

I posted about the mediocre charts of main disasters before (http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/02/mediocre-chart-positions-of.html ) and commented lated that there was a Pholus/Quaoar/Varuna midpoint combination in the charts of the Laki*) and Krakatau disaster. There is no such combination in the Fukushima chart, but there is a different and more complicated 'link'. There are minor and major aspects between Pholus, Quaoar and Varanu, created by Sun, Saturn and Pluto:
- In the Fukushima chart there is an inconjunct aspect of Quaoar (22d52 Sagittarius) and Varuna (21d10 Cancer), while Pholus is at 17d54 Sagittarius.
- Saturn is biquintile Quaoar and 157.5 d MC.
- Midpoint Quaoar/Varuna is square Pluto and Pluto is quintile Sun.
- The Sun is square Pholus/Quaoar and trine Varuna.
(Nessus and Sedna are also involved in this picture.)

MORE ASPECTS
An event chart requires narrow orbs, especially the orbs with MC and Ascendant. This is the chart of a special moment in time and place that had it's consequences. The minor aspects and the 'unusual' guys seem to make a difference in this chart.

The Moon is in the very first minutes of Gemini. There is an applying sesquisquare with Saturn, and that is a nasty aspect to look forward to, perfecting within a few hours on that day and within a few months in the progressed chart.
There is also a trine with Pallas, even closer.

Saturn is biquintile Quaoar. This mirrors the creation of a finale. Saturn is 157.5 d MC and that is a sesquisquare + half semi square.

The strongest aspect is that of Quaoar sesquisquare Midheaven.

In total the MC gives the tightest and strongest message.
Midheaven is trine Pluto, sesquisquare Quaoar and Juno, quintile Varuna, 75d Nessus, quintile Ceres, novile Lillith, half semi square Moon and there is the mentioned 157.5 d aspect with Saturn. The IC is quindecile Eris.

If you'd only consider the major aspect of MC trine Pluto you'd only notice an intense, challenging and dangerous moment THERE, causing stress and pressure. Such a moment happens every day, everywhere.  Here is was a moment for an earth quake, relieving stress and pressure. It takes more information to qualify the event. That shows that one single aspect doesn't tell the story...

BIRTHS IN DISASTER TIME
The aspects of charts are valid for more hours and minutes, some even for a major part of the day. Charts should be read in their context. When you were born with the above chart, you are probably someone who knows how to be in the center of attention, who can be very productive and/or very lazy (depending on what you do) and who knows how to deal with challenges and danger (simply by choosing an easy way out). It doesn't mean that you are 'a disaster':).

*) The Laki disaster 1783 chart also has Mars rising before the Sun.

The chart and transsexuality

‘ Becoming Chaz’ is a documentary about the transformation of Chassity Bono into Chaz. When I saw that, I was wondering if the charts of transsexuals show sexual transformation. I started looking for example charts and studied in particular the most individual midpoint: Ascendant/Midheaven. There is no more individual spot in the chart than this. The midpoint of Ascendant and Midheaven is the midpoint of (exact) time and place of birth. Astrodatabank has a collection of charts of transsexuals. This post is about 5 of them, including the chart of Chaz Bono. Two are transgender M-F and 3 F-M. 

In astrology transformation is symbolized by Pluto, change by Uranus, turning points by Pholus and creating new realities is being mirrored by Quaoar. Sexuality in astrology is basically mirrored by Venus and Mars. Sedna is a female symbol.

Those are the symbols that I was looking for to see if the charts had similar aspects or placements, related to the individual points in the chart.

The five charts of this post all have:

A.    Sun strongly related to Venus and Mars

B.    Midheaven or AC/MC in strong aspect with Sedna

C.   Pholus inconjunct, conjunct or semi sextile Midheaven or AC/MC

Three out of 4 have:

D.   Venus is either in aspect with Pluto or in Scorpio

The fifth has an exact trine between Venus and Pholus.

4. A sad example (transsexual female to male and suicide) is this chart (2543 in Astrodatabank), with:

- Venus trine Mars, Sun square Mars  (A)

- Sedna sesquisquare Midheaven (B)

- Pholus semisquare Midheaven and semi sextile Ascendant (C )

The midpoint Venus/Mars is square Sedna.

Change is indicated by Uranus and Pluto in tight aspect with Midheaven. Also, A/M is semi square the elevated Moon and 105 Quaoar (Moon is sextile Quaoar).

5. CHART OF CHAZ BONO

Chaz Bono is still in the process of transgender that started in 2008. In May 2010 he officially became male. This is the chart of that moment, with transit Saturn on Midheaven (the symbol of ending a certain period or status). That was also with transit Pholus on the Sun/Moon midpoint. 

Today, transit Pholus is back again on that Sun/Moon midpoint. Right now he is planning the final turning point: to add the genitals of a man. 

I have written about the earlier period before here (link) but I didn't mention the natal chart then. The day that Chaz Bono was born, was the day that Pierluigi Casiraghi was born, too. He is an Italian football manager and in the year 1998 (when Chasity had her coming out) he had a cruciate ligament injury and never came back as an international. Lacy Rose (actress in pornography) had her last movie done in 1998. I don't know what happened to the comedian Frank Nicotero, the singer Stina Nordenstam, actor Patrick Roach or to Matt Tiliey (an Australian radio personality). They were also born on the same day as Chaz Bono. But they can't have the same combinations with Ascendant, MC and AC/MC midpoint!

ASCENDANT/MIDHEAVEN

A chart must be seen in the light of genes (!), gender (!) and circumstances or situations, always. And maybe the midpoint structure with Ascendant and MC says moreI had a look and found this: the conjunction of Quaoar  (Indian god of creations) with the midpoint AC/MC opposition Sedna.This is telling us about the vital importance of creating new realities and new worlds, opposition the female symbol of Sedna. Only those born on a specific time and place on earth with this cross point of Ascendant and Midheaven will have the Quaoar-Sedna opposition related to Ascendant-MC.

MIDHEAVEN

On the day of birth the midpoint Uranus/Pluto was inconjunct Pholus. See the picture: Uranus and Pluto are on either side of the MC. This position announces dramatic and radical changes in status and position in the world. The inconjunction with Pholus means a turning point in status including a loss (and is related to dramatic change). Venus/Mars inconjunct Sun shows a life (or body) out of balance related to passion and sexuality. It depends on the accent on sexuality or passions in general, in what way this will show up in the charts of those who were born on the same day as Chaz Bono. The fact that the midpoint Venus/Mars is semi square his Midheaven (conjunct Uranus/Pluto!) says a lot about radical transformation related to sex life.

PAIN AND DESIRE (VENUS and PLUTO)

 The chart is clear about what it takes to get the desired look. Just like the beauties in this post, Chaz has a Venus-Saturn-Pluto combinatioin with Venus-Uranus:

Venus conjunct Saturnus and inconjunct Pluto, with Venus quatronovile Uranus and Uranus quintile Ascendant. The last aspect relates the combination to personal circumstances. Uranus quintile Ascendant says that creative change in presentation will or can be achieved and/or that the situation (Ascendant) will change (Uranus) in a creative way.

This is of course not a scientific study (5 charts only...). Please remember: we are individuals and charts are to be seen in the light of genes, gender, social/cultural circumstances and situations, always. If you have the same range of combinations in your chart, that doesn't mean that you should be transgender. If you are a transsexual, you might not have the same patterns. Astrology chart Princess Märtha Louise of Norway

This post is about the special position of Sedna in the chart of Princess Märtha Louise of Norway. Sedna is a deity who was given up or sacrificed by her father in order to keep the sea monsters calm. Sedna is a planetoide, not a dwarf planet, because it is not certain if her shape is round like the shapes of planets. She is now positioned at 22d30 Taurus. In the chart of the Princess, Sedna is opposition her Moon and square her Ascendant.
(Astrology Weekly gives an official time of birth of 17.07 LMT for Princess Märtha Louise of Norway, born September 22, 1971 in Oslo. )

Why a post about the Norwegian Princess? She is hot news today because of the publication of her book about 'talking with spirits'. See the news...Before she wrote this book, she used to run classes for talking with angels. Religious persons in her country are upset. That is perfectly mirrored by the transit of the planet of upheavel, Uranus, opposition her natal Sun. 
All bad things come in three: transit Saturn is opposition the progressed Moon and conjunct natal Venus. That is perhaps limiting joy. She has Jupiter opposition progressed Sun soon for a success with question marks.
