Sun in a starring role

The Sun is a star. When you have an important Sun, you may want to play the starring role. I wrote about the dominating sun before and gave examples of people with a 'calling' Sun.
(a Sun without major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees), like:
- Roseanne Barr (see the chart and the story on my other blog, Art&Astrology
- Adolf Hitler,
- Hillary Clinton,
- J.F. Kennedy
- John Lennon and
- Youssouf Islam (Cat Stevens)

They and many others will want to draw attention or be in the center of it all, anyhow, somehow. They will be the leader (of the band) or the star. When you are born with the sun in a starring role, you will shine and be in the spotlights even as a minister. Jim Bakker also has a 'calling' Sun. He drew attention! So had Mao Tse Tung (Mao Ze-dong). His dictatorship was in the natal chart: calling Sun quintile Saturn for the creative way to be the sole leader at any possible level.

There are more ways to draw attention than just by being you, being proud and showing leadership (or being bossy:). With a Sun on the Ascendant you won't enter a party unnoticed. A conflict with Uranus will certainly cause upheaval sometimes. Neptune may be so confusing that a person with (temporary or natal) conflicts with Neptune almost certainly will be subject to gossip. A Moon in Leo will draw attention, by having the manners of a queen (or king). The Leo Sun and Ascendant naturally show off:). And a Leo Sun/Moon midpoint is very motivated to be in the center of attention, too. But no one will manage to be the star, as there can be only one in our solar system: the Sun.

You need not be a star or a leader when you have a 'calling' Sun, but people tend to see you. Leadership doesn't acquire a 'calling' Sun, always.  Bill Clinton was the leader of the USA and his Sun is sextile Jupiter and not angular. George W. Bush has the square between Sun and Jupiter. The present President of the USA is Barack Obama and his Sun is square Neptune. It takes more than 'drawing attention' to become a leader and to become one, you don't need to draw attention all the time or be a star (in whatever).
However, if your Sun is 'calling' you may want to be 'on stage' somehow, anyhow, even if your sun is in a modest enough sign.

When two persons with dominating Suns meet, one of the two may have to surrender. It is like two Alpha wolves fighting for leading the troop! This is especially nasty if there is no other place to go, or if you are married to each other. Who is the boss?

The progressions of Lily Allen

This is the drawing of the natal and progressed positions for Lilly Allen, with transits and without hour of birth. The progressions show us how the changing progressed sunsign and the transit of Jupiter and Pholus with the progressed Sun, in the same period of time, turned her into a celebrity.

I read that Lily Allen created a MySpace account in November 2005 (with transit Saturn square natal Sun) to launch her music, after being introduced  to London Records - without results - using her father's connections in 2002*). That was just before her progressed Sun sign was changing. When the progressed sunsing changes, life changes.
One month later, in December 2005 transit Pholus was opposition progressed Sun and transit Jupiter also was opposition progressed Sun. That is a statement for a positive (Jupiter) turning point (Pholus) in life's development (progressed Sun)...shortly after 'changing lifestyle'.  Those three indications together were for a boost in her career.

Isn't it nice that so many famous persons seem to have listened to the ' tides of time'?

Charts offer more than one chance or direction, mostly and they should always be seen in the light of situations, conditions, gender, genes and education, for example. If you want to know more about the positions on May 2, 1985, continue...

Chart of Willie Brandt, Saturn, Pluto and the museum

As I said before today, Saturn-Pluto CAN have a positive effect. That is when you are gaining respect and that is another boomerang effect...
Willie Brandt (mayor of Berlin) has died long ago, but now they name a museum after him. Look at the transits!

Transit Saturn has been square Midheaven (and will be back)
Transit Pluto will soon be conjunct Midheaven
Transit Pluto will also soon be square progressed Sun
Transit Saturn recently was opposition progressed Sun (and will be back)

This is completed by Progressed Sun square Midheaven (and that is like a spotlight over your career and status).

Here is the chart of Willie Brandt. His Pluto (symbol of politics) doesn’t make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees and is opposition Midheaven. That makes the symbol of the politician a prominent one in this natal chart.

March 1, 1971: Robert Freegard, master conman born

I am reading a book about a master conman, Robert Freegard, who managed to control and exploit a group of students by pretending to be a spy. For over 10 years !!! They were manipulated by him, giving him all of their money. Of course, there is no hour of birth. It is only known that he is Pisces born March 1, 1971. He was only 21 when he started his 'game'.

On March 1, 1971 the Sun doesn't make major aspects within 5 degrees orb. That means that the Sun is very prominent and you can read that as the reflection of a leader, someone in the centre of it all, drawing attention. Uranus doesn't make major aspect. Neither does Saturn. Here we have the Sun-Saturn-Uranus prominence that is so frequent in the charts of those who deal with restricted liberty. First Robert Freegard stole the lives of young students. Later he was sent to jail. Now he is free again. Read the book ('Deceived' by Kate Snell), see the pictures in the book and beware!

The most important planet is Mars. Mars also doesn't make aspects and Mars is the first outer planet rising before the Sun. (You know: Mercury and Venus are inner planets, moving between earth and Sun. The other planets are outer planets). The creative Fire-Earth combination in his chart contributes to the other signs of creativity.

So, he could talk and he was creative in telling stories. But, how did he manage to make people believe his incredible stories? Mercury is in Pisces, square Jupiter and Neptune and that is the combination for a big story teller. He could have written novels! There is also a golden Yod on March 1, 1971 with Mercury as the Apex, connecting Mars and Saturn (combination of death) by quintile. Mars is biquintile Saturn. With this 'golden' combination he sure knew how to tell stories.

The master conman started with the group a few years after the change of the progressed Sun sign and the story culminated when the progressed Sun was trine Natal Neptune. The Sun-Neptune combination is the combination of the vivid imagination. You read more about the Sun-Neptune effect on my site Astromarkt, here is the link. http://www.astromarkt.net/sun-neptune.htm About the progressed (or Solar Arc) harmonious aspect I wrote this:

The more harmonious aspects of Sun and Neptune make it easy for you to dream on or relax. Don’t expect this to be a fortunate aspect, always. Sometimes this aspect releases you from your identity as an individual and turns you into ‘one of the guys’, like in prison or you may have enough time available for fantasies and dreaming because you no longer have a job. Progressed Sun trine or sextile Neptune only makes it easy to hide away from reality, society or life as it is.
This seems to fit this person!

Not every person born March 1, 1971 is a conman, of course. But they will know how to tell or sell, and they are probably creative thinkers. Wikipedia tells me that three famous sportsmen were born on that day (and Mars - energy and drive - is important in this chart). One of them is Tyler Hamilton, a cyclist who was recently banned for 9 years after a failing out-of-competition check for performance enhancing drugs. He retired last April. I suppose that crucial placements in the chart of Freegard will explain why it was so important for him to be in control, living like a parasite and ruining the lives of others.

The success of Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton is doing a great job in the Obama-government. Her progressed chart will be helping her for the next 6 months. There are two progressed prosperous aspects:
1. Progressed Jupiter is trine her Mars.
2. In or around February 2011 Jupiter will trine Pluto in her progressed chart. Those are combinations for success.

It is a pity that the correct birth time of Hillary Clinton has not been set yet. It could be the 20 p.m. or the 8 a.m., but nobody really knows for sure. What is certain is that her Sun is in Scorpio (without Ptolemaic aspects in sign) with Neptune rising before the Sun. That makes the 26th October 1947 a perfect day for a leading figure to be born.

CALLING SUN AND JUPITER, NEPTUNE RISING BEFORE THE SUN
A Sun without Ptolemaic aspects reflects 'drawing attention at any kind of level', performing as an artist or being in the centre of attention as a leader. As Hillary Clinton has 60% of her placements in fixed signs, she has 'endurance' and a strong will. Another important planet in her chart is Jupiter. Without Ptolemaic aspects, Jupiter is 'calling', just like the Sun. The importance of Sun and Jupiter contributes to self confidence and successes. And the combination of the prominent Sun, Jupiter and Neptune reflects the fact that she has a lot of devoted fans and followers.

Sun-Pluto conjunctions and oppositions

Sun-Pluto conjunctions (and oppositions) are not easy to deal with. The aspect may stimulate you to do what you always wanted to do (because you realize that life is not for ever). And sometimes you are forced to be strong and face the facts of life and death. The positive side of a Sun-Pluto transit or progression is that it makes you aware of what you value most in life. Pluto, in my eyes, is not the illness or the problem itself. Pluto symbolizes the force that you need to overcome them or to boldly face the facts. Pluto is a very small object, a dwarf planet in the darkest corner of our solar system. Only when the light of the Sun is being shed on Pluto, everybody can see it. It is just like with a problem: you need to know the how's and why's to be able to draw the right conclusion and start making the alternations needed to be able to live with the problem or to cut it out of your life or body.

NATAL CHART
Sun conjunct Pluto in the natal chart says that you are likely to be a fanatic and you can make life more difficult for yourself than life needs to be...Sun-Pluto people may be very demanding. It is difficult for you to live with authorities or to be an authority yourself. You want to resist against everybody who wants to change you or influence your lifestyle. Perhaps that was because your father was too severe. Perhaps you judge yourself too much. It seems that life for you is being a tyrant or being disciplined. The main problem is the theme of self esteem. Stress, or the intense way of living might cause health problems or it is the other way around: health problems strongly influence the way that you are living...

Sometimes it seems that the Sun-Pluto person is only happy when there is a problem to deal with. If there is none, they make one. They are the experts, the strong leaders and they want life to be challenging. At a certain moment their lives change in a dramatic or substantial way. But most of all they want to win games. The majority of the football coaches that I know have an aspect between Sun and Pluto. Some women with this aspect choose strong and dominating men as a challenge.

Examples: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Jackson (physical transformation), Achmed Sukarno (politics), Leo Beenhakker and Louis van Gaal (coaches)

PROGRESSIONS, TRANSITS AND SYNASTRY
On my site Astromarkt you find the complete article(click this link) about Sun-Pluto (natal, transits and progressions) with examples like Josef Fritzl, the Pope and Ingrid Betancourt.

Astrology chart King Carl Gustav (till he dies)

The Swedisch king (konung) Carl Gustav has stated that he wants to reign until he dies and that is a long time from now (since his ancestors lived long lives). With 80% of his placements in fire or air signs he might live just as long (see 'Old' on my site Astromarkt). He is expressive and not holding back emotions.

His Astro I.D. fits a king:
- elevated Sun (leadership, drawing attention, being in the center)
- Ceres on the Descendant for the importance of succession (genes, roots)
- Jupiter oppositiion Midheaven: travelling, success
- Moon rising before the Sun (being 'involved' or ...popular)

And he has a 'royal' Ascendant: Leo!

There is an explanation for his wish to continue his 'job' until death. Just like football coache he has an aspect between Sun and Pluto. That means that he wants to win and dominate (very much, it is a square). This square is in fixed signs, the signs of strong will and perseverance. Sun-Pluto aspects are for fanatics!:)

Astrology chart of Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi is a holy man to many and Jupiter-Neptune shows it. Mahatma Gandhi's glasses were sold at an auction today. Time to have a look at his chart.

I saw this: the chart of a man with will power, an emotional involved leader with a disproportional effect related to an ideal or vision, who (in the given situation - Ascendant) became a sort of an icon (Jupiter-Neptune). It is easy to see the issue of violence, too.

How did I come to this conclusion? I used my usual method for quick readings as follows:

1. Astro I.D.
I see a calling (unaspected) Mercury on the Ascendant, Node on the MC, Moon rising before the calling (unaspected) Sun.
The calling Sun refers to a vocation to be drawing attention at any kind of level (perhaps performing or as a leader). Gandhi was a leader.
He was above all busy for a community of people (family, folks, a nation) and that is shown by the conjunction of Midheaven and Northern Node.
He was emotionally involved and behaving like a king or leader, too. He had a need to be leadig and to be in the centre of attention.
He was a person with an important message (calling Mercury on the Ascendant) in his eyes.

2. Quick scan
60% of the placements in fixed signs: he had a strong will and perseverence
Calling Sun Libra, oriental Moon Leo, Asc Scorpio conjunct Mercury: we see a very strong willed diplomat with a message

3. Moon square Jupiter and Pluto: he was used or became used to successes, a very popular man. With Venus square Pluto he had strong sympathies and antipathies and equally strong needs and habits. It was not an easy person to live with (and he had serious problems with his children). Moon and Venus are related to Pluto and so is Mars. Mars opposition Pluto is almost the tightest aspect. Bernadette Brady says that opposition refer to what others are doing (related to you). Mars - Pluto is the use and abuse of violence. Gandhi fought (Mars) against (opposition) violence (Pluto). And he died in a violent way. He was murdered.

Mars inconjunct Neptune is very important in this chart. This aspect is reflecting the disproportional effect of acts related to a religion, vision, ideal or belief.

4. Jupiter and Neptune quindecile ASC...really, they are on either side of the descendant. Here you see the combination of devoted followers (fans) and of religion or idealistic conviction. It is sort of a pointing finger at Mercury. Mercury is quindecile Jupiter and Neptune, too. This combination of Mercury, Jupiter and Neptune is perfect for a great story teller or for anyone who wants to convince others of a dream. The quindecile reveals a very strong focus on the issue of the successful dream.

BTW Moon-Jupiter aspects are frequent in the charts of top politicians who need to be popular to be elected.

Ben Stiller and Joaquin Phoenix: Sun conjunct progressed Sun

Ben Stiller imitated Joaquin Phoenix's appearance (in the David Letterman show, 2 weeks ago) during the Oscar-night. As it happens, the progressed Sun of Joaquin is conjunct the natal Sun of Ben Stiller and square his Saturn. That is because Stiller has a Sun square Saturn in his chart. What does it mean?

To keep it simple: Joaquin Phoenix progressed Sun is conjunct Ben Stiller's natal Sun. That means that they will share the same transits for a while. The transit that they share is a minor difficult aspect with Neptune. Ben and Joaquim are linked by the media and in a frustration way.

SUN CONJUNCT PROGRESSED SUN
The Sun conjunct progressed Sun of another person links your life and well being to the life of the other person. I have experienced a Sun conjunct progressed Sun with a transit of Pluto (conjunction) and this linked two lives in danger and transformation. The other person died of the same illness that I had and had that not been so, I would not have been warned and had a check up. So our lives got intwined.

CONCLUSION
They shared a moment of media (Neptune) attention (Sun). You knew that already, of course, but did you know that there was an astrological link between the two persons?

For more information about the astrology of meeting each other, sharing a period for a while or longer, see the article on my site Astromarkt.

David Boyle , Saturn and the chart of his day of birth

Often transits of Saturn force a person to face the facts, take responsibility, step back even...But sometimes Saturn comes as a blessing. That is when you worked very hard to earn it.
It happened to Danny Boyle today. Transit Saturn square Progressed Sun. And...transit Pluto square progressed Mars, for competition and winning it. Those are not easy aspects. But they come at the moment of winning an Oscar. Perhaps Jupiter or Venus was in contact with natal or progressed Midheaven, but we don't know without hour of birth.

UNESPECTED SUN AND MERCURY
On the day that movie director Danny Boyle was born, the Sun did not make Ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. I name that a 'calling' Sun (a Sun that reflects a vocation to lead and draw attention). The conjunction with Neptune is just out of sign, but reflects that he lives in a imaginary or empathic world (the world of the movies). When he was a boy, he wanted to be a priest (note that Neptune is the symbol of the amorphous worlds...).
Mercury is rising before the Sun and does not make any major aspects at all. Communication is prominent in this chart. An unaspected sun is perfect for a director, because it means that he is in the center of attention. An unaspected Mercury is a good thing for people with a message.

ARTISTIC PATTERN
We see Moon oppposition Neptune (for sensitivity) with Venus semi square Neptune (for artistic talent)...that is an artistic pattern like the ones in the charts of artists (on my blog Art&Astrology). There is more...Notice the combination of Sun in Libra and Moon in Taurus, both ruled by Venus, planet of beauty and style! And the tight semi square between Jupiter and Uranus is telling us that a pleasant surprise and change in life would sometimes happen. And yesterday it happened to him.

MIDPOINTS
Let us not forget that he has midpoint combinations for success, like Sun semi square Jupiter/Pluto, Mercury conjunct Jupiter/Neptune and 67.56 Mars/Jupiter, 22.5 Venus/Jupiter. Venus is half semi square Sun/Jupiter and square Mars/Jupiter, 22.5 Jupiter/Neptune. Here we have 7 indications and we don't even know the positions of Moon, ASC and MC!

David Boyle is the only famous person born on October 20, 1956, as far as I know. The road to fame is carved by genes, circumstances, social position, education and fortunate meetings. I find it interesting that in the year of his first awarded movie ('Shallow Grave') progressed Saturn was conjunct progressed Sun. And that the present great success goes together with Transit Saturn square Sun. Saturn sometimes gives a present and to Boyle he gives awards.

Astrology chart George Washington (born 22 February)

George Washington was born 22nd February 1732 at 10:05 LMT in Westmoreland, according to my files (but others say 10 sharp). It is a perfect birthday for a leader who will be remembered. The prominence of Sun and Venus tells us that he is a leader and a diplomat. He has a political mind and self confidence. And ambition, of course. Seven important reasons together helped him to be a president.

1. Prominence of the Sun
The Sun symbolizes leadership or at least: to draw attention. The Sun in Washington's chart does not make Ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees, so the Sun is prominent (what I name 'calling' for a call for leadership or performance). The Sun is half semi square the midpoint Ascendant/Midheaven, confirming the crucial importance of 'being in the center of it all'.

2. Prominence of Venus
Venus symbolizes art, skill and diplomacy. Washington's Venus is in the final degree of Pisces, conjunct Aries Point. The conjunction with Saturn is a conjunction 'out of sign'. So Venus does not make Ptolemaic aspect IN sign or orb 5 degrees and that is why I name Venus 'calling' in this chart. When your Venus is calling, you are likely to be loved or liked and that is a good thing for a president in a democracy (or he would not be choosen). Choices btw are related to Venus, too.

3. Combination of confidence
The combination of minor aspects of Sun biquintile Jupiter and sesquisquare Pluto reflects great self confidence and is a sign of success.

4. Combination of enterprise (and the military)
Mars (on the descendant) is exactly semi square Jupiter for successful enterprise. Mars crucial position on an angle shows the importance of the military (energy, muscles and drives). George Washington was a successful officer in the army before he became a president.

5. Need to be in control
The Moon in Capricorn is rising before the Sun (Moon is 'oriental') and square Pluto, 75 degrees Saturn. That is the combination for a 'die hard' administrator, a strategical servant of the state with keen ambition (and the need to be in control, too:). The orientation on the Moon reflects an orientation on the nation (Moon), emotional involvement (with a group of persons).

6. Political mind (strategy)
Saturn is 112.5 degrees from Mercury/Pluto. Pluto is 135 degrees from Mercury/Saturn.The combination Mercury, Saturn, Pluto is frequent in the charts of American presidents (and in fact of politicians in general). It shows the strategic political mind (telling what they want to be known and no more). See the article about USA presidents on my site Astromarkt.

7. Pluto for politics
Pluto is exactly 112.5 dg from Sun/Moon and 157.5 dg from ASC/Midheaven. That means that he was a politician in heart and soul and that power/money/politics were of crucial importance in his life.
The midpoint ASC/MC is the exact point where meridian and horizon are crossing the place of birth. Any aspect with this cross of angles reflects what is of crucial and vital influence.
The midpoint Sun/Moon is the crosspoint of who you are and how you were raised and symbolizes will and desire. With Sun/Moon = Pluto there will be a reigning need to be in control.
The Moon is also involved in an aspect with ASC/MC. So: Sun, Moon and Pluto are related to ASC/MC. The reigning need to be in control is of crucial importance in this chart. And that is how he became a president.

The exemplary natal chart of Emperor Nero

This is the (real or supposed to be) natal chart of Nero. History tells us that he became emperor by murder and that he was responsible for the death of thousands. Eventually, he died by force, too. His natal chart is a good example of how angular placements*) give the right impression at first sight. I used this chart on my Dutch site Astrostudie (as a test) because it is quite clear what kind of a person owns this kind of a chart and what the effect would be in the first century A.D.

Now look at the chart of Nero. How would you describe a male person with these crucial marks, in thAt moment in history and with thAt kind of power? I indicated the special marks in the chart below.

Notice Sun, Mars and Pluto on the Ascendant with Pluto rising before the Sun and conjunct Sun. Notice Saturn square Ascendant and square Sun, Mars and Pluto. This is not the kind of person that will be unnoticed.

The Mars-Saturn-Pluto combination is a dangerous combination. I have written about the effect of Mars-Saturn-Pluto in the post about the progressions of Barack Obama: "exhaustion, working too hard, having to deal with violent situations or using/abusing violence." And I reported that this combination is frequent in cases of unnatural death causes (as a victim, witness or as murderer), with examples.

This chart is obviously the chart of a very energetic and aggressive person with ambitions. It is someone who provokes resistance against his methods. Why?
- Mars afflicted; possible aggression (and it were aggressive times in history)
- Pluto afflicted; difficult and complicated (making it easy to be a tyrant in those days)
- Sun afflicted; possibly arrogant (and why not, with absolute power)
- Saturn afflicted; possible end to an ambitious career.
- Mars conjunct Pluto; drive to win (even by force or forcing yourself)
- Mars square Saturn; acts against what is decent (or lawful) or fighting against restrictions
- Sun on Ascendant (drawing attention immediately)
- Sun square Saturn (seeing the bad side of life or lifestyle)

Imagine a character with this position in those days and you can see the picture of an absolute tyrant who will eventually meet stronger enemies. Character and consequences are simply defined by the 4 prominent placements and the 1 square between them. You can see the picture in the blink of an eye. I think the chart of Emperor Nero is exemplary.

BTW: Nero thought of himself as a poet. If you are interested in the artist in the chart of Nero, see Art & Astrology.

*)When you see the natal chart as the astrological passport, the special marks are the angular placements. Ascendant, Midheaven and the positions square Ascendant relate the chart to the precise spot and time on earth. Tight angular positions make the difference between THIS one person and all the others born on that day (or place).

Project: reading the chart of Churchill -part 2-

Winston Churchill’s chart step by step… This is the follow up of part 1 of this project

STEP 1
What does the chart show us? The Astro ID…
The first outer planet rising before the Sun is Jupiter, the international, symbol of the traveller, the wise guy, the academic, positive and optimistic person, someone who wants to make progress in life, someone who wants to grow (and maybe in horizontal direction). Go to Step 2 if you want to keep it simple. What we want is a cartoon, not a picture with pixels 8.2.

(BTW In the chart of Winston Churchill I notice the V on the descendant. Is not that funny? He always held his fingers so that he showed the V of victory. In this chart it is the V of the 'supposed to be' planet Vulcanus and that Vulcanus appears where the v of violence is involved. Maybe it is just coincidence, but it caught my eye.

Another special spot in the chart is Ceres on top. Ceres is the big mama, nurture, genes, seeds, roots and heirdoom. Later you will notice the importance of that placement. But let us skip Ceres and Vulcanus and focus on the more excepted objects in the chart. Let us have a look at the oriental planet.)

STEP 2
What is the character in general (Sun, Moon, ASC, tight aspects, if possible in combination
50% of the positions in fire signs and another 50% in fixed signs makes one think of Leo (fire and fixed sign): show, performing, leadership.

Sun in Sagittarius, Moon in Leo and ASC in Libra produce a fluent mixture of expression and leadership. Sagittarius is the sign of conviction, Leo likes to be the boss and Libra is the diplomat.

Interesting is that the Moon is trine Neptune and in Leo, for the need to have ideals and dreams, and to show them:).

The tightest aspects are Venus sextile Jupiter and inconjunct Pluto. Earlier we decided only to read aspect combinations and not to read aspects one by one. The combination of Venus, Jupiter and Pluto refers to great popularity, and success in art for example. Note that he was an amateur painter and a writer, too and that you see the pattern of artistic talents in this chart. If not, check the post on Art&Astrology.

SUM 1+2
We found a Jupiter/Leo/Venus-Jupiter-Pluto. Let us face it: we already get the picture of an optimistic and artistic popular leader. Let us not forget that when we do step three.

STEP 3: Vocations and goals
Now we want to know what he does for a living or what is the meaning of his existence.

In this chart we see a Cancer Midheaven with the Moon in Leo, Sun in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Libra in mutual reception with Venus in Sagittarius. Jupiter is sextile Venus (the tightest aspect, remember?).
We see joy (Venus-Jupiter), blessings and a great talent, in an atmosphere of ‘keeping memories and the past or habits alive’. Cancer refers to the domestic, national, educational and historical field: all that relates to ‘home’, ‘background’ and ‘memorizing’ /’reproducing’ (early education and basic needs).

We already had an optimistic popular leader with an international orientation with a successful career in the field of memorizing or reproducing. Notice that some patterns seem to be coming back again and again.

STEP 4: And more...
We look for Aries Point, ASC/MC, Sun/Moon, midpoint combinations confirming patterns of aspects or being repeated, Yods, midpoint yods.

1. We see Cancer on Midheaven, square Aries Point: he will be known (AP) for his career and position (MC).

2. In the chart of Winston Churchill Mercury is square ASC/MC: this is the chart of a communicator, someone with a message to be written, spoken or sung (note that he was a brilliant author).

3. Very important: the Sun is 112.5 degrees from ASC/MC (drawing attention), Mercury square ASC/MC (messenger). Again Sun, again Mercury. Again performance and leadership. Again communications.

4. The “finger of God..”
There is an important Yod in this chart: Venus and Jupiter are inconjunct Pluto, making Pluto the axis of the Yod. The 'finger of God' is pointing at Pluto, the most elevated planet in the chart.Pluto is the symbol of sex, danger, money, force, influence, politics and strategy.
(This Venus-Jupiter-Pluto combination is repeated by Venus sesquisquare Jupiter/Pluto). He was successful and talented, but it is indicated that he was a politician or policy maker.

TOTAL SUM +
A popular and optimistic communicative strategic or political leader with an international orientation in a domestic or historical (Cancer Midheaven) field. And let us not forget that he needs to show off his ideals and dreams.
Once we know the social setting and when we know the historical circumstances and consider those with our findings in mind, it is even more clear how a talented and artistic nobleman with leadership and 'the finger of God' pointing at Pluto for politics could produce those words:
"We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.". What made him say so: 50% in fixed signs for holding on and standing firm, 50% in firesigns for the drive and the pride.

WHY CONTROVERSIAL?
Why did Winston Churchill have such controversial ideas and why was his opinion often provocative?
It is because of the important Mercury in Scorpio square the rebel among the planets, Uranus. And also: have another look at the chart and see Ceres (genes, heirdoom) on top in Aries, reflecting the importance of breeding, seed, births and the homeland. That explains a lot of what he said and what shocked us.

ING Bank executive quits:
4 inconjunctions in transit...

In my post about the effect of the inconjunction (op on this blog Astropost) I wrote that inconjunctions describe a situation with disproportion or without balance and that this situation can be the result or the cause of lost. Michel Tilmant (21 July 1952) has stepped back today. He was the man in charge of the Dutch bank ING. The bank is in trouble, in spite of billions of support coming from the government. This fact AND personal conditions are the reason for leaving.

At the moment Michel Tilmant has 3 transits making inconjunction with the progressed chart:
1. Transit Neptune inconjunct progressed Sun (disproportional negative spotlight)
2. Transit Mars inconjunct progressed Pluto (to have to defend yourself or to use energy in an extraordinary way)je buitensporig moeten inspannen en verdedigen)
3. Transit Venus inconjunct progressed Pluto.
This is a very applying aspect. Venus-Pluto is the combination of financial values and the inconjunction is the aspect of 'no balance'. What is mentioned in the transits is exactly what is going on today, in his life. And that is visible even without hour of birth.

There is also transit Uranus inconjunct natal Pluto, for the dramatic change. Fortunately transit Mars is trine progessed Sun and transit Saturn trine progressed Jupiter, so there is at least some compensation for the 3+-fold indication for lost and 'having to give up'.

EXECUTIVE
Michel Tilmant's natal Sun is 'calling' (an indication for a person being in the spotlight, leading or performing). There is only a quintile with Jupiter for a creative progress in life.

Baby time for Rachida Dati

Rachida Dati is very ambitious and successful. She is also independent and she might want to be drawing attention at any kind of level and sometimes the way she does it is rather disproportional. Since she became a member of the French administration, new (Uranus) challenges (Pluto) easily came into her life. At the moment she is in the news (and controversial).
Rachida Dati is the first Minister of Justice who gave birth to a daughter (Zohra) who has an unknown or unnamed father ( The Virgin Bride, according to The Independent). Rumours say that François, Sarkozy's brother, is the father of Zohra. She is being ridiculed as 'Supermum' because it took her only 5 days to recover from giving birth and get back to the office. Blame Uranus for that! Transit Uranus is now opposition her natal Uranus (in the equal 5th house of children and ruling the equal 10th house of profession). Or should we blame the inconjunction of Jupiter with Jupiter, for the 'happy mother, but...'.

THE NATAL CHAT

MOON AND SATURN
Natal Saturn is exactly conjunct natal ASC/MC, semi square the important elevated Moon. That is a statement for a manager, someone in charge in a hierarchy. It seems that Dati is a very authoritarian person. The explanation for this is the combination of Moon in Capricorn on top semi square Saturn. This reflects the need to be in charge and responsible and...respected. Sense of business and ambition probably lead to motherhood later in life. The way that people see her attitude is also explained by the inconjuction of the Sun.

SUN, JUPITER
It is easy to see her rise, with the calling Jupiter and Sun (just out of orb opposition Saturn). Jupiter is involved in a midpoint Yod produced by the opposition with the important midpoint Sun/Moon. As Venus is 157.5 degrees from Jupiter, in the 22.5 range Venus is also involved with Sun/Moon. The combination promises success in art or...as a female. She is very good looking. But there is a certain disproportional attitude (inconjunct Ascendant), perhaps overly arrogant or 'bossy' or 'showing off' (Sun). As the Sun is 'calling' (not making narrow Ptolemaic aspects) this attitude or approach can be at any kind of level. The fact that she wore a precious diamond ring that caused some uphevel is astrologically typical. The Sun disposes of gold and diamonds.

INDEPENDENT
Uranus is 75 degrees away from the Sun, so we may expect a strong focus on being independent and free and different (and that it is often the way to be controversial). Uranus is conjunct Pluto in the natal chart. Neither Uranus nor Pluto moved much in progression. They started retrograding. So throughout her life there have been 'impulses' and sudden changes. And as they occur in the house of children, why shouldn't she have an unexpected and controversial life changing event regarding (pro-)creation.

Besides Sun 75 Uranus there are more indications for her unmarried status. Venus is trine Uranus and that reflects a desire to be surprised and live life the adventurous way.
Mars is sextile Saturn (ruler MC), very tightly. The elevated Capricorn Moon is semi square Saturn and 15 degrees away from Mars. It is a statement for an ambitious woman, working hard to get to the top.

THE PROGRESSIONS AND TRANSITS SINCE HER RISE
1. Sun
The prominent Sun was conjunct Midheaven in progression when she became Minister of Justice (May 2007) and a sort of an icon of ethnic diversity. The combination of a prominent Jupiter and Neptune is also reflecting having fans and followers.

2. Pluto and Jupiter
Transit Jupiter was square natal and progressed Pluto on the day that she became member of the Sarkozy administration and Pluto was opposition Jupiter. Jupiter with Pluto is a combination for success.

3. Soon afterwards there was a progressed trine with Pluto. Pluto was conjunct Midheaven in the solar return chart for 2006/2007. Pluto must have caused a lot of stress and produced enemies. Pluto symbolizes politics and strategy and a conjunction with the Sun intensifies life and life style. It gives a certain drive to go on and on and to be strong and tough. Pluto on top of any chart reflects that power, money and influence are above all of importance. Maybe it is significant that Pluto is on the opposite side of the solar return for 2008/2009.

The trine with Pluto must be related to the conjunction of Uranus and Pluto. A swift intense change in life is taking place since she became a Minister. Pluto is ruler of the 7th house and that might indicate finding a partner. The coming trine with Uranus perhaps reflects the domestic situation, as Uranus is in the 5th equal house. Uranus rules the tenth equal house. Maybe she will find or already found a new challenge in life with Uranus and Pluto. And perhaps there are more challenges on the way in April...
But first there was the baby!

BABY TIME!
Notice that in her progressed chart Ceres (symbol of genes, motherhood and other basic female issues, but also of seed) is on top with Venus and Mars (passion: man + woman) close together! It was clearly time to have a baby!

The effect of Sun-Neptune combinatons

This post is about the positive and negative effects of Sun-Neptune aspects in a natal or progressed chart. As this is a blog, this is the short version of the article that is on my site Astromarkt!, fully in Neptunic style (hidden behind a link:)...

AM I WHO I THINK I AM OR AM I WHO OTHERS SAY THAT I AM?
"It is easy to believe and it is easy to pretend with a Sun-Neptune aspect in your chart. You could be very naïve or a con man, but in a way your way of living has something ‘double’. Some of you may have a vivid dream life that can be more intense than the dull daily life you are living. Some actually have a double identity (as a spy, or having two families). And others just have a vivid imagination and create fantasies for a living. Actors with this aspect are often confused with the role that they have. And when there is gossip, it is not easy for someone with a Sun-Neptune aspect to show the truth. Read the post about missing people and the suspects in those cases: Sun-Neptune was there!"

"Am I who I think I am, or am I who other's think what I am?” said a person I knew. She had an oriental Neptune conjunct the Sun. Your image can be different from who you really are because embody the dreams and nightmares of others, you are their living fantasy. Of course this is not happening to everybody with a Sun-Neptune aspect. It only occurs when this aspect is tight and/or related to the Midheaven or Ascendant, the cross points in the chart that correspond with the individual identity."

Some of the examples in the article: Lisa Minelli, Pope Benedict, Barack Obama, Josef Fritzl and Elvis Presley.

Astrology chart Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson's appearance at the Millionaire Fair has not remained unnoticed. Perez Hilton wrote a sour blog about her body and this must have been uneasy for her to read. The consternation is demonstrated by the transit of Uranus inconjunct her progressed Sun on a solar transit - Uranus day. Here you see her chart and the positions of Perez Hilton on the outside. Notice that both have a prominent Sun (for drawing attention) and both have an aspect between Mercury and Mars (that sharpens the tongue). The positions of their Mercury's and Mars's are in conflict with each other. That is perfect symbol of accusations, discussions and verbal fights.

Pamela Anderson has the Moon rising before her starry Sun on the Ascendant and that Moon is trine Venus. This means that she is an attractive beautiful woman and that her presentation (ASC) is an eye catcher:) Her Sun is quintile Uranus for being controversial the creative way...And Uranus is quindecile her Midheaven so that there is a strong focus on being in the news.

All in all, her name IS in the papers again. And even in this blog:) It is a pity that Uranus inconjunct her progressed Sun tells us that this 'being news' has a big BUT.

Astrology chart Perez Hilton

Perez Hilton is the nickname of a famous American blogger. His real name is Mario Lavandeira. Yesterday he was rather rude against Pamela Anderson and that of course attracts lots of visitors to his blog ...and even more advertisers. He asks 9000 dollar per week for one advertisement and claims to have 9 million visitors per day (that is been disputed). Perez Hilton is successful in earning money with blogging.

What on his birthday is the potential for a famous blogger?

We see Neptune rising before the Sun.
We see 50% of his pacements in fire signs
we see Uranus without aspects within 5 degrees
And a 'calling' Sun (no aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees)

The complete picture is that of an energetic person with an immeterial orientation (arts or ideology) and a 'CALL' TO BE CONTROVERSIAL IN THE SPOTLIGHTS
The Sun is sesquisquare Uranus, so that it might be frustrating sometimes to live life with adrenaline at a high level.

His individual birth chart must have crucial placements on the angle to enforce and activate this potential, but as his hour of birth is unknown, I cannot be sure.
BTW The urge to gain money is expressed by the opposition of Venus and Pluto, the attacks with words come from Mercury square Mars and trine Saturn, but there is also (Mercury and) Venus trine Neptune...Perez Hilton makes an art of communications.

Astrology chart of Hillary Clinton and her present position

Hillary Clinton, the woman who thought she would only want to be a NY Senator, accepted to be Senator of State in the Obama administration. Maybe, maybe, her hour of birth is really 20:00 hours, or just a little later. Because between November 21, when the rumors became stronger, and today, transit Pluto was exactly opposition her Ascendant for stressful moments in time and pressure or...for the challenge she could take. Yes, there are doubts about her hour of birth. But given the fact that on the day she was born, Sun, Jupiter, Mars, Pluto and Neptune were prominent, any hour of birth on that day tells us that a person with a special drive was born.

On Friday, November 21, I wrote about the hour of birth of Hillary Clinton: "Though it is not official yet, it seems that Hillary Clinton has accepted to be Secretary of State (Minister of Foreign Affairs). As long as neither Obama nor Clinton have confirmed this, the message in the NY Times remains just speculation, but if that is true, the probability that she was born at 20:00 hours grows. That hour was initially supposed to be the correct birth time of Hillary Clinton. Later there were doubts. But using 20:00 hours transit Jupiter would be semi square her natal Midheaven today and transit Uranus inconjunct her progressed Ascendant: positive crucial change would have come into her life. We will just have to wait till Tuesday, when Obama is to present (the names of) his team."

Months ago on Astromarkt I published the reading of her chart in the light of the coming elections. I like to highlight those parts of that reading that are linked to the present acceptation of a position under Obama's thumb because they illustrate her ambition and drive.

1. SUN opposition ASC/MC for the starring role
Hillary Clinton is a (calling) Sun Scorpio in the 5th house. That means: leadership, (pro-) creativity and drawing attention at any level. The Sun is opposition the midpoint of Ascendant and MC, another indication for fame and glory, in the 20.00 hours chart.

2. MOON in the final degree of the Zodiac: Cassandra!
Her Moon is 'void of course' (does not make aspects in sign any more) in the very last degree of the zodiac. That is (according to Janduz) the degree of Cassandra, a woman with special abilities and vision. (PS: if she is not born at 20 hours, there is of course another degree for her Moon and the Moon might even be in Aries)

BTW Note that the Moon is on top and conjunct Zero Aries, though in Pisces. She is the kind of woman who wants to be on top and that is because of her ideals/ideology or dreams.

3. MARS/PLUTO SQUARE VENUS: passion for politics and power. Venus square Mars conjunct Pluto: the lust and drive for power and money and intensity in desires. She likes to use power.

4. VERY Very MUCH AMBITION
With Saturn quindecile (165d) the Midheaven of the 20.00 hours chart, she has the drive to climb. She wanted to be President, and now she is a Secretary of State. When Saturn enters Libra she will be fully aware of the disadvantages of her position, I am afraid.

I concluded that the chart of Hillary Clinton reflects the image of a woman who is eager to use her influence and very focused on for example material security. In the article about the chart reading of Hillary Clinton I mentioned her vocabulary (Mercury semi square Jupiter/Pluto) and a calling Jupiter related to Sun/Moon... for the INTERNATIONAL!!!....Those are the perfect skills and that is what it takes for a Secretary of State or: that is what it takes to BE one. She will just love to travel.

THE CHART WITHOUT HOUR OF BIRTH
PS Since there is a dispute and no certainty about the hour of birth of Hillary Clinton I highlighted the passages in the article above that remain valid, even if she wasn't born at 20.00 hours. In any chart, time unknown, the facts for October 26, 1947 are:

- Neptune is oriental,
- Sun and Jupiter ! - are 'calling'(no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees) and
- Mars is conjunct Pluto (tightly) and related to Aries Point, square Venus.

That is enough to let astrologers know that she is an idealist or someone with an ideology, a successful leading person and someone with a strong passion for politics if not a passionate person in general with a lot of strength and influence. And see: Jupiter, the INTERNATIONAL traveller of the chart, is prominent. So Obama picked the right woman for the job.

Astrology chart of cricket player Sourav Ganguly

On special request I present the chart of Sourav Ganguly, famous former captain of the Indian cricket team, who recently 'retired' at age 36 after a disappointing year with Neptune opposition progressed Sun. This was followed by an inconjunction (for having to let go) by the transitting Jupiter. I think that this retirement will allow him to do more what he really likes, since he is and was born rich enough to use all the potential of his chart, that you see here below.

The natal chart has Neptune on the IC, for the importance of the amorphous world. Whereever he goes, he takes the image of the goddess Kali with him.
Notice Moon on top and Ceres on the Ascendant: those planets represent the softer sides of human kind, the nurturing and caring side. We know that he supported younger cricket players in order to teach them (Moon on top!) and so I am happy to read that he has been appointed to be an advisor and ...that he owns a restaurant (Ceres for nutrition). But where did the success in cricket come from, apart from the fact that he had been trained by his father since he could stand? Where is the agressive player and willing coach in this chart?

First of all: he has Saturn oriental (rising before the Sun). So he first did what he had to do, make a career, please his father. Also, what I found was that Jupiter and Pluto are not making aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. I name that 'calling planets'. Jupiter and Pluto 'calling' reflect an enormous self confidence. The combination of those planets prominent in a chart promises successes with exclamation marks. This is especially so in this chart, since both are connected to the Sun and since the Sun is conjunct ASC/MC for the star who was born with the ability to win in a creative way (Sun quintile Pluto) and who had an obsession for having successes with games (Sun quindecile = 165 degrees from Jupiter in the fifth house). It must be hard for him to give this up!

The vocational routing through the Midheaven leads to Mercury in Gemini, the sign on the Midheaven. Gemini is usefull for sports like tennis and cricket, as the arms and hands are the tools. Mercury and Gemini are also the symbols of communications. I was told that he has his own column in a newspaper. Sourav Ganguly really uses all of his potential!
