Feel good moments with Saturn

Today my Cancer mother, on bed in hospital, hardly able to move because of her broken hip,  said: "there was a horoscope in today's paper and it was exactly right". I checked the paper, found the horoscope for Cancer and the first sentence was ;" You feel restricted". Clearly true, Saturn square the late Cancer Sun.
There are more ways to feel restricted. Now, Saturn is square my Ascendant/MC and sextile my Venus. I had to clean my mother's house, do her washes and help her brush her teeth without spilling water. That is life, that is Saturn. There is stress and of course I would prefer to take care of my mother but I have to go to work, and it is busy there.... But there is also a feel good thing about it. How can Saturn, the old devil,  make you feel good?

Well, I like to see how clean her house is now and that she has bright and shine pyamas. It feels good to take care of someone, omce you get used to the daily pattern. Maybe that is Sun/ Moon conjunct Ceres (motivated by the "big mother" principle) or Moon trine Saturn (feeling responsible) or it is my Pisces Ascendant (ok for sea and hospital). Or maybe is it just because I am a woman? In the meantime, my mother finally starts eating (I brought her a strawberry milkshake with a straw and watched her enjoy it) and now she is ready for revalidation in a nursing home. They will see if  there is room for her. Things are getting better.

That is why I wonder about the final hot of transit Saturn square my Mars on the 15th. Tooth ache? Burn out? Broken leg? Too much work to do? Out of order? Or simply the end of this period of activities? I'll let you know!

Daily transits of Midheaven and Ascendant

This post is about the daily motion of the angles of the chart, the transits of Ascendant and Midheaven. Another story about the daily motion is the article about Solar Transits (the daily motion of the Sun) on my site Astromarkt. For example, when the Sun is in the same degree as your natal Sun it is Sun conjunct Sun-day and …your birthday. There will be a spotlight (Sun) on YOU. Fortunately it is almost my Sun-Jupiter day!*)

The planets, Sun and Moon move and keep moving every day. So is the position of the Ascendant and Midheaven. The earth is moving around the axis and that is what makes the world go around. The Ascendant and Midheaven pass trough the astrological zodiac and are in aspect with your natal and progressed positions all day long. The Moon is also a fast mover, but nothing beats the movement of the Ascendant and Midheaven!

It happened to me that I had an accident (without injuries) when the Ascendant of the moment of the accident was exactly conjunct my natal Mars. Of course, that happens all the time and every day! There were other indications for accidents, but this one was exact. This sort of thing makes me aware of the ‘bad moments’ on a day. We have such moments when we drop things, forget about something or loose our patience, or enjoy a view. Nothing special, but still.

One of the best examples of the effect of the movement of Ascendant and Midheaven is giving birth. The Ascendant and/or Midheaven and/or the Moon is very often in aspect with the natal positions of the mother and father. Understandably Mars (pain, cuts) and Saturn (fear, hard labour) but also Venus (joy) and Jupiter (happiness) accompany the moment of birth (the moment that is indicated by the Ascendant and Midheaven or the midpoint of Ascendant and Midheaven. The Ascendant is the Eastern side of the horizon, Midheaven is the ‘sky above’ at the exact place of the event or birth at the exact moment of it! So don’t worry if your mother’s Saturn is on your Ascendant and ask her how it was and what happened at the moment that you were born. Perhaps she suddenly felt tired?

What sort of time is it? The daily transits show it.
It seems that when Midheaven changes sign there is more activity around you. For example: people at the door, people on the phone… I don’t have enough time to watch the transit of Midheaven all day long and in fact, nobody has...So can anybody please make an app for that so that we can have a quick look at the positions of Midheaven and Ascendant IF anything happens? BTW somebody fell real hard with transit Midheaven exactly square her natal Saturn.  But that might just be coincidence...

Astrology chart George Washington (born 22 February)

George Washington was born 22nd February 1732 at 10:05 LMT in Westmoreland, according to my files (but others say 10 sharp). It is a perfect birthday for a leader who will be remembered. The prominence of Sun and Venus tells us that he is a leader and a diplomat. He has a political mind and self confidence. And ambition, of course. Seven important reasons together helped him to be a president.

1. Prominence of the Sun
The Sun symbolizes leadership or at least: to draw attention. The Sun in Washington's chart does not make Ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees, so the Sun is prominent (what I name 'calling' for a call for leadership or performance). The Sun is half semi square the midpoint Ascendant/Midheaven, confirming the crucial importance of 'being in the center of it all'.

2. Prominence of Venus
Venus symbolizes art, skill and diplomacy. Washington's Venus is in the final degree of Pisces, conjunct Aries Point. The conjunction with Saturn is a conjunction 'out of sign'. So Venus does not make Ptolemaic aspect IN sign or orb 5 degrees and that is why I name Venus 'calling' in this chart. When your Venus is calling, you are likely to be loved or liked and that is a good thing for a president in a democracy (or he would not be choosen). Choices btw are related to Venus, too.

3. Combination of confidence
The combination of minor aspects of Sun biquintile Jupiter and sesquisquare Pluto reflects great self confidence and is a sign of success.

4. Combination of enterprise (and the military)
Mars (on the descendant) is exactly semi square Jupiter for successful enterprise. Mars crucial position on an angle shows the importance of the military (energy, muscles and drives). George Washington was a successful officer in the army before he became a president.

5. Need to be in control
The Moon in Capricorn is rising before the Sun (Moon is 'oriental') and square Pluto, 75 degrees Saturn. That is the combination for a 'die hard' administrator, a strategical servant of the state with keen ambition (and the need to be in control, too:). The orientation on the Moon reflects an orientation on the nation (Moon), emotional involvement (with a group of persons).

6. Political mind (strategy)
Saturn is 112.5 degrees from Mercury/Pluto. Pluto is 135 degrees from Mercury/Saturn.The combination Mercury, Saturn, Pluto is frequent in the charts of American presidents (and in fact of politicians in general). It shows the strategic political mind (telling what they want to be known and no more). See the article about USA presidents on my site Astromarkt.

7. Pluto for politics
Pluto is exactly 112.5 dg from Sun/Moon and 157.5 dg from ASC/Midheaven. That means that he was a politician in heart and soul and that power/money/politics were of crucial importance in his life.
The midpoint ASC/MC is the exact point where meridian and horizon are crossing the place of birth. Any aspect with this cross of angles reflects what is of crucial and vital influence.
The midpoint Sun/Moon is the crosspoint of who you are and how you were raised and symbolizes will and desire. With Sun/Moon = Pluto there will be a reigning need to be in control.
The Moon is also involved in an aspect with ASC/MC. So: Sun, Moon and Pluto are related to ASC/MC. The reigning need to be in control is of crucial importance in this chart. And that is how he became a president.
