Venus in Virgo and aspects with Venus

Venus is in Virgo now. When you are a Leo, Virgo or Libra, your Venus might be  in Virgo in your birth chart. When Robert de Niro was born, Venus was also in Virgo. I want to write about Venus in Virgo and about the aspects with Venus. First I want to tell you about transit Venus in Virgo inconjunct my progressed Sun last week at the office, making me extraordinary happy with the kind and efficient (yep! Venus in Virgo) contribution and explanation of someone. Venus is the symbol of pleasure and joy, and Virgo is the sign of daily work. But how to read Venus in Virgo in birth charts?

In the post about Virgo I mention more VIPs born with Venus in Virgo, like: Bob Geldoff, Andrea Bocelli, J.K. Rowling, Mick Jagger, Eminem, Vicky Leandros, Julio Iglesias and Carl Orff. So you see that just like a Sun in Virgo, a Venus in Virgo is diverse. The position and aspects of Venus are important for the nuances of Venus in Virgo. Venus is part of the complete chart and can't be considered isolated. But if we do, we see Virgo in the charts of ‘cool’ men, especially when there is an aspect with Saturn. Virgo is a cool sign, like Capricorn. Saturn is the symbol of cold.  Cool men are attractive. In classic novels for ladies the hero is often a distant, cool employer. Maybe a male Venus in Virgo is attracted to his servants? I am just thinking… Or maybe it is just the other way around: attractive men have Venus and/or the Moon in cool signs like Capricorn or Virgo and/or in an aspect with Saturn, like for example George Clooney. De Niro has Venus opposition Saturn.  

I have written about the happy Virgin Virgo, but Venus in Virgo doesn't mean that you don't get married. Here are the names of some Venus in Virgos who married more than once: Ingrid Bergmann, John Lennon, Roger Moore and François Mitterand. 

Ingrid Bergmann married twice and had an affair (a scandle in those days).

Roger Moore even married four times. 

Francois Mitterand had Venus in Virgo and Jupiter in the 7th house. He had several mistresses. Maybe he just couldn't make up his mind as there was something not perfect about every one of them? That would be sooo Virgo...:)

But it would be discriminating to put it that way. There are a lot of other symbols of possible divorce in a chart (see the PS). If Venus in Virgo had the same resonation in every chart, 1/12 of the world would be exactly the same. The names of people with Venus in Virgo already show that they are quite different. The difference is in the position of Venus, the aspects with Venus, culture, gender and social status. Example: when your Venus in Virgo is in aspect with Mars, there is passion in you or in your love life, and with Uranus there would be hot excitemtent, so where is the Virgo then? Maybe it is in the way that you demonstrate to be fond of hygiene. Or maybe it is in the way that you look at your partner's wrongly chosen combination of clothes. I don't know. People generally don’t tell us all about their intimate lives and there are no stats about it. So if you study your (or anyone’s) Venus in Virgo, consider the position of Venus and the (major and minor) aspects (also with Sun/Moon and AC/MC) and the midpoint combinations with Venus... Also never forget about the complete chart, conditions, situation, gender and culture. All that doesn't make it easy to isolate the reflection of the sign. So let's go to the aspects...

An explanation about the indications for a divorce..

In a man's chart they are:

Hard aspects between Moon and Saturn or Neptune, Venus and Neptune, Mars and Uranus.

In a female's chart they are:

Hard aspects between Sun and Mars or Uranus, Venus and Uranus, Mars and Saturn.

And in the charts of both genders:

Afflictions between the 1st and 7th house (rulers)

I found that Venus in Aries or Mars in Libra do not make relationships easy. Neither does the placement of Neptune on the horizon in the charts of females. Hard aspects between Moon, Venus and/or Mars illustrate that it may be hard to find a match (and so the nativity needs to compromise).

Small orbs

On this blog you will only find small orbs. You know, orbs are the ranges in which an aspect is said to be in play. A 94 degree aspect is still a square - a 90d aspect- with an orb of 4 degrees. And sometimes I have to use the chart of a day of birth. If you want to know why, continue...

1. Because of the wider orbs, aspects between planets and lights are valid for at least hours and sometimes even for weeks. Thousands of men and women share the same aspects. 

2. And all the work to get a specific second of birth becomes futile when you use wide orbs. What does it matter if your Ascendant has degree 2, 4, or 8 when the orb is 6 degrees? Why do all that work and than throw it away? 

3. Because of my experience with midpoint combinations. 

The chart with hour of birth tells us about key characteristics, the main tools that a person got in order to survive life. The tightest and most individual aspects are midpoint combinations with Ascendant/Midheaven and those with the Moon. They (Ascendant, MC and Moon) move fast. If you want to be more specific, for example with twins, use those key midpoints to see the difference between one individual and another (...keeping in mind that twins, in order to distinguise themselves, may select different ways to express the same energy: also see the label Twins)

D.O.B. or W.O.B. or M.O.B.?

My advice is to use small orbs and tight aspect- or midpoint combinations. Extend the orb only if there is an object between the two other objects in a -too- large orb. ,  (There is mostly also a midpoint combination then). 

Using larger orbs, will turn the chart of the hour of birth into the chart of the day, week or even the month of birth.

INTERPRETING PROGESSED MOON ASPECTS

The progressed (or secondairy) Moon is the position of the Moon on the xth day after birth for the xth year after birth. You need to know your hour of birth in order to calculate the Moon or the progressed Moon! The moon moves through the signs in about 28 months and makes aspect with the progressed and natal birth positions. Here are some ideas about how to interprete the aspects of the progressed Moon. Please keep in mind that the progressed Moon tells us more about how we feel,than about actual measurable effects. With a Progressed Moon conjunct Saturn you might just worry to much or be down, not for a particular reason. If there would be any reason, you could tell that from the other progressions and transits. It takes 3 or more indications for major events.

Mars and Eris

When I posted about the chart of Pearl Harbor I mentioned Mars and Eris, the most prominent objects in the chart of December 7, 1941 at 7:55 am. The most important objects in the chart for that exact moment in time and place were the symbols of discord (Eris) and war (Mars). And it already was a hostile and dangerous era! Mars is inconjunct Eris in the charts of Mikhail Khodorkovsky and George Michael (well in all charts of those born between June 24 and June 26 of 1963). 

This aspect doesn't seem to promiss an easy life, not even when there is a lot of fortune. Right now Mars is square Eris, and that is a challenging and angry aspect. Those who were born around the 12th of January, April, July or October might experience some kind of argumentation today. One of them is Heather Mills (see Google for all posts about her here) and another one is David Letterman. I doubt that they will tell us all about their experiences today:).

Recently the Russian entrepeneur Mikhail Khodorkovsky, political enemy of Putin, was sentenced to jail until 2017. The chart of Mikhail Khodorkovsky, has Mars inconjunct Eris, reflecting anger and discord with a loss involved. Mars-Eris in a situation of discord or war, is a very dangerous and destructive combinaton of aspects.  Mikhail Khodorkovsky was born on June 26 1963, just like Harriet Wheeler (a singer) and Richard Garfield (game designer). The aspect is even more exact on June 25, 1963. And that happens to be the day of birth of George Michael, whose chart you see here. George Michael didn't listen to his friends and had to spend months in jail. See the post about the eight weeks sentence..

Moon, Saturn and hard aspects

Oops, this post flew away before I ended it...Maybe it was high time that it went? I was just thinking out loud about Moon and Saturn.

A day before yesterday (for others yesterday) I wrote about Pat Robertson. I mentioned the Moon in Capricorn conjunct Saturn in his chart (together with his Sun inconjunct Neptune), related to blaming the Haitian victims. Later I spoke to a family member with Moon in Sagittarius conjunct Saturn, on the Ascendant. That makes the aspect important in her chart. She said she didn’t know if Robertson was right or wrong (hesitating). I also saw a comment about a fan of Mr. Robertson, also with Moon in Capricorn conjunct Saturn. It is Moon-Saturn time!
I have a family of Moon-Saturn people and some of them have Moon conjunct Saturn. From this point of view, I see Moon conjunct Saturn as emotions hiding behind a stone wall. There may be door, but the door only opens for close, intimate and trusted happy few persons. You may enter the circle if you are close, but strictly on their terms and once you hurt them, you are out (unless you are needed). Others just face the bricks and hit the wall or a decent, polite smile. When a Moon-Saturn ages, it is obvious that he/she love regularity more than others do. The Moon-Saturn seems to be happier with old age than others are. That might be because rules, limitations and restrictions simply suite them. They are not fond of surprises, big parties and a crowded living room. Consistency in habits, that is what they want, and time schedules. Moon-Saturn people are great at taking care for the elderly, too. Their old fashioned manners are a great help on the job!

WALL
Often those bricks in the wall were built with tears shed in a long forgotten period; most of the time however it is the Moon-Saturn who keeps placing new layers of bricks on the wall. They construct them with the concrete of nasty experiences and fear, felt offenses, and the fear to be rejected. This is even stronger when the Moon and Saturn are angular or rising before the Sun. It takes a lot of smiles and warmth to break the ice around a Moon-Saturn. Those who don’t follow the Moon-Saturn’s rules will never really belong to the inner circle. Rules and traditions and time plannings need to be respected in the house of a Moon-Saturn. They often don’t need a crowd around them and don’t mind being alone for a period of time. That makes it easy to shape a distance.


BAD MEMORIES
For a Moon – Saturn it is easier to remember the nasty and bad events than to have good memories. Ask a Moon-Saturn about a recent party and they start complaining about the food, the waiter and the fact that someone sat on their chair. The aspects of the Moon in a chart don’t show what really happened, they show the response and the memory. It just might be that their company had a splendid night. In a family one child can have Moon-Saturn and the other one Moon-Jupiter and though they had the same parents the first one will remember the difficulties (and feel deserted) and the last one might be the most wanted child and feel great (whatever happened).

BREAKING
It is easier for a Capricorn Moon conjunct Saturn to break up with parents and family than it would be for a Moon Cancer conjunct Jupiter person, even in the same circumstances. With a tight conflict between Moon and Saturn it is also easy to feel guilt and shame about errors of the past. That is why they like to keep a distance, stick by the rules and be as ‘ normal’ and ‘ decent’ as they can be.

KEEPING UP APPEARANCES
Even with an easy trine between Moon and Saturn it is hard not to control feelings and cry in public, for example. Believe me, I know! I have Moon trine Saturn and when I get tears in my eyes, I walk away or put dark glasses on. Of course, with a Moon-Saturn family, it is always been ‘ not done’ to cry (“ why? You are old enough not to cry, aren’t you?”) Moon-Saturns have the feeling that they were thought not to show emotions and that it is better to keep it that way and they pass this message on to the next generation. Why? They don't want to look silly. It is very important for the Moon conjunct Saturn what the neighbourhood or family members might think of them. It is a bit like mrs. Bouquet in ‘ Keeping up appearances’ (the television serie is one of Queen Elizabeth’s favourites☺. But it is not about looking richer than you are, it is about looking cooler than you are.

In general, Moon-Saturn is afraid of personal emotional commitment, to avoid grieve. They start worrying when they have feelings for a person. So it is good for a Moon-Saturn person not to feel close and not to care unless the law or parenthood or feelings of guilt make it a necessity. Is that wrong? Is that hard? Is it cruel? Maybe. And yes, it is hard to hit a wall.

Let me give an example. A Moon conjunct Saturn lady noticed a woman, silenty crying over her food in a senior resident’s restaurant. ‘Oh, there she goes again’ she said with tight lips. ‘Her husband died two weeks ago and she hasn’t been able to stop crying, she says. But when she does, why in the restaurant? Is it just to draw attention…? Why doesn’t she move over to the ladies room when she feels it coming? How can she be so sad about a man who wasn’t even kind to her? You know, she complained about him a week before he died and now she misses him.’ No, she didn’t reach out. A professional did and gave the sobbing lady a handkerchief. ‘Ah’ said the Moon-Saturn, reaching for her bag, ‘ if you need some more, here they are…’. Moon-Saturn is very efficient in supplying what is needed, except when it is about emotions. Often they have had their share in their eyes and that is enough. Imagine that nurses would show and feel emotions all day. It would be unbearable (at least, in a Moon-Saturn’s eye:). They keep a certain emotional distance for professional reasons. Moon-Saturns do it for personal reasons, too.

MORE EXAMPLES

Another Moon conjunct Saturn (in Cancer), lost her mother when she was a young mother herself. She had broken with her mother soon after marriage, but they got together again (Cancer! They need a family). It is very hard for her to get connected to the remaining family members. She is only child and lives miles away from the rest. But, with Moon conjunct Saturn she also never shows feelings or mentions them.

Famous Moon - Saturns? I don’t know many of them, and that is because Moon-Saturn people are rarely popular. Like late Theo van Gogh, murdered because of his sometimes offending opinions by a muslim terrorist: Moon opposition Saturn. And like J.K. Rowling: Moon opposition Saturn. She manages to keep her private life for herself. Amanda Knox has the Moon and Saturn in Sagittarius (and that probably is of influence in the way that people see her; they don’t understand the lack of emotion on her face). George W. Bush has Moon 112.5 Saturn (square + half semisquare!).

And of course there is a seemingly exception: Princess Maxima of the Netherlands, with Moon in Aquarius square Saturn (and Sun conjunct Saturn). People often mention her spontaneous and cheerful ways. Venus trine the Sagittarian Ascendant gives her beauty and charm. That compensates a lot of what is efficient and cool, especially now that she is still ‘young’ and not in function as a queen. (Saturn is rising before her Sun, too: duty, protocol, ambition and status first, always with a charming presentation). It is a so much different style and moods than those of Princess Diana (who also had a late Aquarian Moon, but opposition Uranus.) It is all in control, and when she cried at the wedding it was one tear, caught in a handkerchief, and silent, of course, very decent. Royalty doesn’t cry. Nelson Mandela has a 12th house Scorpio Moon square Saturn. He also has a compensating Venus opposition Ascendant. That makes him a beloved person. Final example: Queen Mother Elizabeth (born August 4, 1900 at 00:30 GMT) had Moon in Scorpio semi square Saturn. Read about the relationship with her daughter in law…

CONCLUSION
Is there something good about Moon-Saturn? Yes there is. They are orderly and they are caring parents, though they won’t demonstrate their feelings. They use to stick to the law and the rules and they won’t keep you awake in the middle of the night because they are having a party. When they commit themselves, it is enduring and consistent. That is what I see in a Moon conjunct Saturn. It is just one little aspect in the complete picture of the chart. But when the aspect is prominent (on an angle, oriental) it is very very important for personal relations.

Jupiter and Neptune (now conjunct in Aquarius)

Jupiter is conjunct Neptune in Aquarius this year. As you may see in the picture above, they are not really close. They are in the same degree of Aquarius and we see them in one vertical line from earth and almost at the same height (they are 'parallel'). I am not an astronomer, so I advice you to see for example this site for more information about the astronomical facts: Space.com or go to the site of NASA.
This post is about the astrological combination of Jupiter and Neptune.


JUPITER
Jupiter is in the news today because of the dark spot discovered by an Australian amateur astronomer by telescope. (I think they should name the spot after him (Anthony Wesley). The spot reveals that there was an impact by an asteroid or a very large piece of ice. Had this struck earth, life on earth would have been in serious danger. Jupiter saved us again.

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. The gravitational field of Jupiter is massive and protects the earth. Jupiter is our guardian against asteroids. Jupiter 'catches' them before they reach the earth. I could not write this without Jupiter. Steven Hawking said that intelligent life on earth had a chance thanks to Jupiter.

'What has kept the Earth 'safe' at least the past 65 million years (....) it the massive gravitational field of Jupiter, our cosmic guardian (....)"

!How convenient that Jupiter has always been the symbol of protection and help in astrology. Jupiter symbolizes growth and prosperity!

NEPTUNE
Neptune is not visible from earth and remained unnoticed until telescopes improved. 'Tele' in the words telescope and television is related to Neptune. Tele is another word for 'far'. Neptune is also related to gasses, chemicals, fantasy, art, visions, poison, psychics, movies, plastics, drugs, alcohol, ideology, photography, mediums, the media and dreams. There is an explanation for the reason why for each of those words. Everything that has no real shape or matter or that is fugal is part of the Neptunian atmosphere. Mist, for example.

JUPITER AND NEPTUNE
Jupiter and the sign Sagittarius go together. Before the discovery of Neptune, Jupiter was considered to be 'ruling' Pisces. In some ways Jupiter and Neptune have the same meaning. They are both related to religion, beliefs, traveling and overdoing things. I have no idea what the planets really have in common, except for clouds and spots on the surface that grow appear and disappear.

Anthony Wesley, the Australian astronomer, watches Jupiter about 20 hours a week. He is a true follower of the planet. Fans and followers are symbolized by the combination of Jupiter and Neptune (the great ideal). Another reason to do a post about Jupiter-Neptune!

The combination of Jupiter and Neptune (aspects, midpoints, transits) combines what they reflect. Jupiter/Neptune enlarges (Jupiter) fantasies (Neptune) and successfully convinces those who belief, who empathize and who 'can imagine'. I found the combination in the charts of religious people (see Astromarkt, the chart of 18 popes)'.... One can be considered 'holy' with Jupiter/Neptune prominent in a chart!

Here are some of the possible meanings of the combination of Jupiter and Neptune:
- great idealism, propaganda
- the visionary
- successful fraud
- confidence unlimited
- mystic belief (see the charts of popes).
- illusionary happiness
- big (Jupiter) idol (Neptune)
- great (Jupiter) scandal (Neptune)
- Reinhold Ebertin names 'speculations'

With a conflict between Jupiter and Neptune the world witnessed the conflict between religion (Neptune) and conviction (Jupiter) in the 'cartoon riots'. Any aspect between Jupiter and Neptune in your chart reflects idealism. Conflicts show the disappointments…They are even greater because of Jupiter.

Here are a few examples of the possible effect of combinations of Jupiter/Neptune with a third position in the chart:

MERCURY + JUPITER/NEPTUNE
With Mercury, Jupiter/Neptune creates the great story teller because you communicate (Mercury) with the help (Jupiter) of fantasy (Neptune).
This combination is also useful for those who want to sell cars or clothes. Jupiter presents the facts as better than they really are. Neptune covers up and creates a dream. 'Yes, you really look great in that dress!'

When Neptune is in aspect with Mercury/Jupiter the negative side of the combination has a greater chance to manifest itself. An example is Dutch Princess Margarita, who was part of media scandal a few years ago after unproven accusations. Brigitte Bardot and Hillary Clinton have the same combination (Neptune semi square Mercury/Jupiter).
Gandhi, Marcel Proust, Jack Nicholson and Einstein have Mercury in aspect with Jupiter/Neptune. In the chart of Guy Verhofstadt (former Belgian Prime Minister) the combinations appears three times! Richard Chamberlain has Mercury biquintile Jupiter and opposition Neptune; Dustin Hoffmann has Mercury conjunct Neptune and trine Jupiter. John Cleese (Mercury trine Jupiter and sextile Neptune with Jupiter opposition Neptune), Elvis Presley (Mercury sextile Jupiter and trine Neptune and Jupiter conjunct Mercury/Neptune) and Bill Clinton (three times the combination of Mercury, Jupiter and Neptune in the 22.5 degree range) are other examples of people who were helped by fantasy or visions and who had or have many fans or followers because of what they said or wrote. They were able to make others belief in their words.

When you deal with 'ordinary' people with this combination of Mercury, Jupiter and Neptune in their chart, please check and double check what they said. And if you have this combination: try to be as realistic as you can be whenever you make plans.

VENUS + JUPITER/NEPTUNE
In combination with Venus, Jupiter/Neptune creates the fairy tale marriage in the charts of those who married a future king or a famous idol. With Venus you get the highly romantic and social successful marriage (in the eyes of others). The combination of Venus, Jupiter and Neptune is very lucky if you have to pretend to be a great lover or to be in love, for example as an actor. The fairy tale marriage of the tabloids that is subject to gossip is one of the reflections of Venus, Jupiter and Neptune working together. Another possibility is that the nativity is in love with an idol (instead of with a person of flesh and blood). It is a very lucky combination in the charts of artists, because they can use their fantasy, empathy and vision to be successful (Jupiter) in the world of arts Venus-Neptune). They often have female fans and followers or they are very popular idols. They find it ‘wonderful to be here’ and they ‘love you’ from stage.

The dark side of this combination is 'keeping up appearances' of beauty or the happy marriage.

It is frequent in the charts of those who did a lucky marriage, like Prince Bernhard, Prince Claus, Princess Máxima who has the Ascendant related to Venus/Neptune and Venus/Jupiter, Mercury/Neptune and Mercury/Jupiter. Her sister in law, Mabel, has Venus semi square Jupiter/Neptune. Boris Becker also has Venus in aspect with Jupiter/Neptune, Michael J. Fox, Oprah Winfrey, Robert de Niro, Walt Disney and Cyrano de Bergerac have Jupiter in aspect with Venus/Neptune.

MIDHEAVEN + JUPITER/NEPTUNE
With Midheaven the career is involved; a devoted audience supports you from a distance (you have a lot fans and followers). Example: Pim Fortuyn, the murdered Dutch politician (who was a devote catholic ánd became a sort of an idol in a short period of time). Four of the 18 popes in my article on Astromarkt have Midheaven in aspect with Jupiter/Neptune.

ASCENDANT + JUPITER/NEPTUNE
The Ascendant - your presentation and situation - in combination with Jupiter and Neptune can reflect a religious environment or a devoted person. Sometimes this combination is reflecting a religious or ideological environment (like in the chart of Putin) or the world of the movies.

SUN + JUPITER/NEPTUNE
In various posts on this blog I have given examples of how Sun and Neptune combinations go together with the love for animals. Add a bit of Jupiter and you get the protection (Jupiter) of animal (Neptune) life (Sun). That is not because Neptune means 'animal'. Neptune cares for the weak ones because Neptune is a softie.
With the Sun idealism is highlighted, like in the chart of Mother Theresa. With Jupiter/Neptune in aspect with the Sun you live by your ideals (and sometimes that is because of a negative attitude towards success).

The Dalai Lama (born July 6, 1935) has the Sun tightly trine Jupiter and sextile Neptune, square Jupiter/Neptune. Jupiter is square Sun/Neptune. Neptune is conjunct Sun/Jupiter. His chart mirrors devotion, spirituality and idealism and is a great example of the effect of Sun-Jupiter-Neptune combinations.

JUPITER CONJUNCT NEPTUNE IN AQUARIUS
This year there will be two conjunctions (in May and in December) and that strongly influences 2009. The idealistic combination of planets in the sign of change, revival and hope might produce new hope, new ideals and a revival of religious devotion and spirituality. New heroes and idols might show up. (Perhaps one of them is Jupiter, the planet who saved earth:)

PS Jupiter and Neptune together seem to reflect moments of hope (found remedies and vaccins, for example). There was the announcement of a vaccinn in January 2006 (against avian flu) with Jupiter square Neptune. A vaccin against Mexican Flu has been announced around June 11 (Jupiter was conjunct Neptune end of May).

Sun-Pluto conjunctions and oppositions

Sun-Pluto conjunctions (and oppositions) are not easy to deal with. The aspect may stimulate you to do what you always wanted to do (because you realize that life is not for ever). And sometimes you are forced to be strong and face the facts of life and death. The positive side of a Sun-Pluto transit or progression is that it makes you aware of what you value most in life. Pluto, in my eyes, is not the illness or the problem itself. Pluto symbolizes the force that you need to overcome them or to boldly face the facts. Pluto is a very small object, a dwarf planet in the darkest corner of our solar system. Only when the light of the Sun is being shed on Pluto, everybody can see it. It is just like with a problem: you need to know the how's and why's to be able to draw the right conclusion and start making the alternations needed to be able to live with the problem or to cut it out of your life or body.

NATAL CHART
Sun conjunct Pluto in the natal chart says that you are likely to be a fanatic and you can make life more difficult for yourself than life needs to be...Sun-Pluto people may be very demanding. It is difficult for you to live with authorities or to be an authority yourself. You want to resist against everybody who wants to change you or influence your lifestyle. Perhaps that was because your father was too severe. Perhaps you judge yourself too much. It seems that life for you is being a tyrant or being disciplined. The main problem is the theme of self esteem. Stress, or the intense way of living might cause health problems or it is the other way around: health problems strongly influence the way that you are living...

Sometimes it seems that the Sun-Pluto person is only happy when there is a problem to deal with. If there is none, they make one. They are the experts, the strong leaders and they want life to be challenging. At a certain moment their lives change in a dramatic or substantial way. But most of all they want to win games. The majority of the football coaches that I know have an aspect between Sun and Pluto. Some women with this aspect choose strong and dominating men as a challenge.

The effect of the Moon inconjunct Pluto

In this post I am brainstorming about Moon inconjunct Pluto. In Dutch astrologer Martin Boot’s book ‘Van Ram tot Vissen’ the inconjunction of Moon and Pluto is referred to as ‘seeing submission as a way to express love’. Moon inconjunct Pluto reflects disproportionate emotional or psychological transformation.

MOON WITH PLUTO
One of the effects of Moon in aspect with Pluto is that the aspect intensifies habits, reflects the need of obedience (or control) and easily leads to psychological problems because of the strength of emotions. The Moon is the symbol of memory and memorising (the way we are being thought to behave and eat). Moon-Pluto is the aspect of the issue of the strong personality, but it might be the chart owner or someone else who is the impressing person.*) Sometimes fanatic needs and behaviour leeds to success. Habits are often forced upon others in the house or being forced on the chart owner*). There is the need to be strong and to defend oneself, from the very start. Grace Kelly had Sun and Moon trine Pluto. Her life, lifestyle and domestic environment changed completely when she married the Prince of Monaco. That is the transformational effect of Pluto. The trine made it easier to get used to (Moon) the changes (Pluto).

INCONJUNCTION
With the inconjunction it is easy to get out of balance. It is more difficult (Pluto) to get used to (Moon) changes. Sometimes you are just not in the mood, but you must behave and do as you are told. So you behave more and more 'forced'.

Sun inconjunct Pluto makes it hard to have a balanced self esteem. Moon inconjunct Pluto makes it hard to behave like you should. The effect is that a person sometimes looses control over the way of living (Sun) or the way of behaving (Moon). In severe circumstances other persons (or an intense need) may take over...

The individual chart shows what kind of need and problems influence behaviour in a disproportionate way. Pluto always reflects 'the price to pay' and with Moon the price is very personal. The Moon symbolises 'what you are used to', 'where you feel at home', 'what you like and desire'. When you want to be in control over your behaviour, you will have to give up on a habit or anything else.

EFFECT
The Moon inconjunct Pluto has a range from a (too) strict diet up to problemous behaviour and habits, a sort of a submission to danger or sex. It all depends on the rest of the chart, circumstances, positions and situations (and not to forget: genes). That is why I prefer to read a chart as a whole, instead of commenting about aspects in a chart. It is so often like talking about the leaf or the branche of a tree, without seeing the tree as a whole. But, the inconjunction is a very tight aspect (orb maximum 2 degrees), the Moon is moving rather fast compared to other objects in the chart and the Moon is a very important object, especially in the chart of women. Women generally are submitted to rules about behaviour more than males are (and that is so, around the world). Any affliction with the Moon makes it difficult to behave like one 'should' or like the world considers 'normal'.
Psychological problems (depression, for example) might be the ultimate effect of a Moon-Pluto affliction. With the inconjunction it is even more easy to get out of balance. When a person is aware of the possible dangerous effect, they can be on guard.

EXAMPLES
I have a few examples on this blog of the sometimes heavy effect of this aspect in the charts of women. The need to obey and submit might also shows up in the chart of males, of course. And the way to express submission might be less dangerous in the chart of the majority.

ROYAL EFFECT
I still remember how shocked I was when Sarah Fergusson (an asumably moder woman) promissed Andrew to 'obey him', on her wedding day July 23, 1986 in Westminster Abbey, London, as if there hadn't been 'womens lib'. It was archaic (read the discussion on Gather.com about the wedding vow).
Sarah Fergusson has the Moon inconjunct Pluto, tightly. Sarah Fergusson had an eating disorder for years - and was a big spender, too - . Now she is in control as a Weight Watcher. Pluto is conjunct Midheaven ruling the Ascendant and the Moon is in the 5th house.

EFFECT IN TWO CRIME CASES
Natalee Holloway, who might have been attracted to dangerous males, has Moon inconjunct Pluto in her chart.

SEXUAL LIFE OF MILLET
My latest post was about Catherine M. In the natal chart of Catherine Millet, an author who wrote about voluntary gang bang, We see a personality with strong and intense disproportionate need for pleasure (prominent Moon in 5 inconjunct Pluto, tightly). In her book she submits herself to unknown males, as a sex object.

MALE EXAMPLE
I have the chart of a male actor who was born in The Netherlands, educated in the United States and who returned to Holland again later. He also may have to get used to other habits and rules and may have difficulties with that.

SO...
The effect of Moon inconjunct Pluto is (or may be...) that it forces a person to change behaviour and habits in such a way that it makes it difficult to keep control always.

For example, Sarah Fergusson was submitted to the rules of the royal family (and the protocol) as a citizen. She had problems to keep obeying them. Soon after marriage she started to eat and eat, perhaps because she was out of balance. The same inconjunction is in the chart of the Dutch queen to be: Máxima. She has the Moon in Aquarius, inconjunct an elevated Pluto (tightly). She moved to another country and continent and had to (Pluto) get used (Moon) to different habits. Recently she and her husband bought a house in Argentina (where she was born), to spend her holidays there. She is very popular.

*) Mars-Pluto is the issue of using or abusing force, influence or violence. This aspect is as frequent in the charts of assaulters as it is in the charts of victims. See the article on Astromarkt...

Sir Edward Kennedy's progressed chart trine Saturn

Whenever a person gets well deserved respect, Saturn is involved. So it is in Edward Kennedy's chart. Transit Saturn is now exactly trine his progressed Midheaven and trine the progressed Sun. And what happens? He will receive an honorary knighthood and become Sir Edward Kennedy. Gordon Brown will announce the award today. One of the reasons is his involvement in the dispute over Northern Island.

Saturn has an important role in the chart of Ted Kennedy. At the time of his collapse lately, there was a threefold involvement of Saturn. (Read that post). Why is Saturn that important? It is because Saturn rules his Ascendant (in Capricorn). And because Saturn does not make Ptolemaic aspects in his natal chart. I name that a 'calling' Saturn. It means that business, administration, responsibilities and ambition are highlighted in his life at any possible level. Up to knighthood:)

Slow answers, lies and Mercury's aspects

It takes longer to tell a lie, than to speak the truth. That is what British scientist discovered. As Mercury is the symbol of messages and information, and Saturn is the symbol of time, I started thinking about Mercury-Saturn's effect and all combinations that influence the way that people communicate. It is a long story:)

There are several ways of lying. You can simple not give any info, you can lie as a habit and you can twist the facts. Here are a few ideas about Mercury's aspects and the effects, with examples.

MERCURY-SATURN
To start with slow answers, I know persons who speak the truth very very slowly, mostly because of a desire to be as accurate as can be. They are not lying, then. Most of them are specialized educated persons who are aware of the impact of what they say or of the responsibility that they have as an official spokesman. That is why they are careful and that is why they like to limit themselves to established facts only. It is the Mercury-Saturn-effect with a lot of 'uh's' between the words:) Of course, Mercury-Saturn CAN be an aspect that reflects lying. Saturn happens (...) to be the symbol of time...and of restrictions. You just don't tell it all, sometimes because it is not official, or allowed or decent.

Statistics often don't work the 'other way around' and sometimes tests in artificial situations are not similar to the effects in the real world. Sometimes slow answers are true. A certain percentage is just thinking before speaking: the Mercury-Saturn effect. In fact, some of those Mercury-Saturn-speakers deliberately hesitate to make the other aware of the importance of the answer!:)

OTHER LIES (with examples)
MOON-MERCURY
Moon-Mercury lies are the lies you tell because they are being expected in your group. You simply adept your story to the public. The Moon-Mercury lies are the every day, common lies. The way you behave shows that you are lying when you have a Moon-Mercury (= emotions-brains) conflict in your chart. Sometimes it is very obvious. Then you shake your head saying yes, for example.
Only in serious case there might be a habit (Moon) of lying (Mercury). For example, Joran van der Sloot is known for his incredible changing stories and if he was born in the morning, his Moon is opposition Jupiter and inconjunct Mercury. Or what about the case of Josef Frizl? This man has Moon square Mercury (and Mercury at Aries Point).

MERCURY-MARS
Mercury-Mars is speaking too fast and too soon, sometimes it lead to stutter and sharp words in discussion. People who work with words often have this aspect in their natal chart: words are being used Mercury-Mars is about information used as a weapon: and of course you only select the sharpest and fastest ones.

MERCURY-JUPITER
Mercury-Jupiter's effect is that the message is exaggerated in order to convince the other. Big mouths, big words and sometimes great ideas are born with Mercury-Jupiter contacts in the sky. The other side is that the receivers of information tend to notice that too many words are being use to convince them. The vocabulary is large, always. Take for example Barack Obama, who is a great speacher. He has Mercury opposition Jupiter(1).

MERCURY-URANUS
Mercury-Uranus' effect is 'hectic' as the combination means 'information on impulse' (re: Mars-Uranus for acting on impulse) and provocative information (just a little different from what the others think). Uranus is the planet of change and Mercury of info, so lies of the Mercury-Uranus-kind are quick lies and often communication techniques like changing subject when it comes to telling the truth or at worst by twisting words and facts to end up with a completely different story.

Prominent Mercury's and Uranus are in the charts of David Cern`, artist and Hitler.

MERCURY-NEPTUNE
In the scientific test mentioned above, fantasy was used and the symbol of fantasy is Neptune. Neptune is also the symbol of what is 'unlimited'. And fake. Mercury-Neptune hides facts (remains silent), invents facts or simply misunderstands the information and is confused. Lying with a Mercury-Neptune is easy and is done by giving misty information or by 'pretending' facts.
Sometimes people with a prominent Mercury-Neptune combination in their charts become the victim of false information or others simply don't believe what they are saying because it sounds like if the person is inventing it (thinking too long, known for having a fantasy etc....). When you have to invent stories because you are an author, this aspect can be a blessing, but in real life it is not easy. For an example, see the charts of Gerard and Guillaume Depardieu. BTW, Brad Pitt (actor) has Mercury sextile Neptune, tightly.

MERCURY-PLUTO
Mercury-Pluto's effect is that in order to impress the audience facts are being manipulated (for the stronger effect), a sort of communication strategy that makes the receiver of the message feel uneasy. Often the information is 'inside' information, by an expert or a politician. In few cases this aspect reflects the possibility of the power of words and knowledge (dangerous information). Example?
The author of James Bond..., Ian Fleming, who was the personal assistent of the Director of Naval Intelligence of the Royal Navy in World War II. He was telling 'strong stories' with inside information.

COMBINATIONS OF ASPECTS WITH MERCURY
Combinations of aspects or midpoint combinations with Mercury alter the interpretation or give us more insight. Take for example the late Dutch prince Bernhard with Mercury conjunct Pluto and inconjunct Uranus for very strong and controversial (political) opinions. This combination also reflected his traffic accidents. Sometimes he just wanted to be too fast.

(1) Barack Obama's Mercury is related to more objects in the chart, by major and minor aspects: a septile with Mars, opposition with Jupiter, half semi square with Uranus. This combination can be interpreted as the combination of an inventive (Jupiter-Uranus) debater (Mercury-Mars).

Effect of the inconjunction

Inconjunctions tell us to have to give up on something because there is no balance. Or about losing balance because you lost something. Sometimes inconjunctions represent the 'but' in a story. LIke in the match Gemany-Turkye. The Midheaven of the final moment of Germany-Turkye (football match in June 2008) was inconjunct the natal Sun of Ugur Boral, symbolizing lost (although he was the star of the match).

With more inconjunctions and together with more hard transits the inconjunction symbolizes lost, like in the chart of Obama when he lost his grandma. When Barack Obama's grandma died, Saturn was inconjunct his Ascendant, Uranus was inconjunct Descendant and Pluto was inconjunct the IC. (Saturn and Uranus were 105 and 75 degrees away from the natal Moon in the 4th house, too, BTW).

When Saturn and Neptune are involved, too, illnesses are almost inevitable. The inconjunction is the kind of aspect that requires to be accepted. Sometimes you just have to learn to live with the theme that is reflected by the planets making a 150 degree aspect or accept the consequences of that specific subject in your life. The effect is always disproportional. Take for example Jupiter inconjunct Uranus. This aspect is tight in the chart of Mrs. Schavio. The theme is ´Thank God, but...´. Jupiter rules her 8th house of life and death, Uranus is in the 4th of endings. Yes, she stayed alive, but...in coma.

Another example of Saturn-Neptune and inconjunction is Mrc. Ballesteros. Mr. Ballesteros was taken to hospital. For his condition we see that in the last year, the progressed Midheaven was inconjunct Neptune (placed down under in the chart). Transit Saturn is disposing of the 6th house and about to make an inconjunction with the natal Sun, after being square to Mars (ruler of the Sun). It is easy to see the present pattern of illness(Saturn-Neptune). And the inconjunction that these planets make.

MORE EXAMPLES
The transit inconjunction was apparent in the chart of John Travolta when his son died (transit Venus in natal eight house inconjunct ASC), together with squares and semi squares from Neptune (ruler 8th house) and Saturn.

We see transit Uranus inconjunct the Ascendant of Paula Abdul when she found a stalking fan dead in his car, in front of her house. Transit Neptune was inconjunct MC and Jupiter square Ascendant (note that Jupiter+Neptune relates to 'fans and followers'). Her progressed Sun was inconjunct Jupiter and Jupiter inconjunct progressed Mars. There were 3 inconjunctions at the time for an incident or shock (Uranus), a sad event (Neptune) but it also stopped an unpleasant episode of stalking and that is why Jupiter is involved.

Guillaume Depardieu, son of a famous father (Gerard), born with a 'calling' Saturn and an actor like his father, died on a day that the transit Sun was inconjunct Saturn and transit Saturn was inconjunct his Natal Sun. That is a double statement for a bad day and bad health. The inconjunction shows the risk of losing your life. Time of birth is unknown.
Father and son Depardieu shared Mercury inconjunct Neptune (the aspect that you see in the chart of Friedman). It may be a good aspect for actors, but in real life it easily leads to miscommunications. Father and son had problems communicating with each other.

Natal Sun is inconjunct Saturn in the charts of Patti Smith and Berti Vogts. She lost a brother and a husband. He lost his parents at age 12.

The death of Joe Biden's first wife is reflected by Moon ruler 8th house of life and death inconjunct Neptune, ruler 4th house of endings. It is the narrowest aspect in his chart.

On September 8, 2008 a poll announced that McCain was winning and Obama started losing votes. That was on a day that transit Jupiter was exactly inconjunct the Sun of Obama. He had to let go of the advantage that he had (but not for long:).

Rui Costa ended his career as a sportsman being exhausted. Transit Pluto was inconjunct Mars for losing energy after abusing forces.

Sourav Ganguly had transit Jupiter inconjunct his natal Sun when he had to 'retire'.

Mitt Romney stopped the race as a candidate for the Republican Party in early February last year with Transit Saturn inconjunct his natal Midheaven and transit Jupiter inconjunct Pluto.

Hugh Hefner's tightest aspect is Mars inconjunct Pluto, symbolizing no balance (inconjunct) use (Mars) or abuse (Mars) of Pluto-matters like money, power, influence, politics, and potency or sexuality. It seems better to have a natal Mars-Pluto inconjunction, than a transit of Pluto inconjunct Mars.

Casanova had a 'calling' Mars quindecile Pluto, opposition Aries Point and inconjunct the ASC: a perfect description of a sexually/aggressively obsessed person without balanced behavior in that matter.

Neptune rules the eight house of Dr. Edgar Mitchell and rises before his Sun. With transit Neptune inconjunct Sun he had a bad press in July 2008, when he told the world that he believes in aliens (who visited earth).

Lately I posted about Mercury-Saturn related to science. In the post about Al Gore I write about Mercury inconjunct Saturn in his chart as reflecting 'doom theories', scientific opinions without balance. I can only hope that that is a convenient truth!:)

THE SUN-JUPITER CONNECTION WITH DOPING New case: Bernhard Kohl And about the 22.5 degree aspect range..

Sun-Jupiter connections: that is what I use to find in the charts of winning athletes and bikers who used doping. I have several examples (see below). And I like to add another one: Bernhard Kohl.

KOHL
Bernhard Kohl, born in Wien (Austria) on January 4, 1982 (no birth hour available) is in the news today because he admitted that he used Cera, a sort of EPO. He has a minor Sun-Jupiter aspect in the natal chart, had progressed Sun square Jupiter for long and recently had transit Jupiter conjunct Sun. But today it is a sad day for him. Bernhard Kohl has Transit Sun conjunct Saturn and he lost his contract for the next 3 years to come today.

WHY JUPITER?
Jupiter is the symbol of support, confidence, coaches,doctors, advisors and coaches. Jupiter symbolizes growth, progress and everything that 'helps you on the way' (horses, cars, and sponsors). A conflict with Jupiter makes it difficult to be happy as you are. In some cases it leads to wanting to be prosperous no matter how.

PROGRESSED AND TRANSIT SUN-JUPITER
This Sun-Jupiter connection of Kohl is being activated by progressions (from 2004 to now) and by the present transit of Jupiter with his Sun(transit Jupiter conjunct Sun). In his progressed chart there has been an almost constant square between progressed Sun, natal and progressed Jupiter, starting in 2004, up to 1.5 years ago. It means that he has been lucky and successful, but that successes didn't come easy.

Is that enough Sun-Jupiter?

EXPLAINING 22.5 DEGREES
67.5 DEGREES, PART OF THE 22.5 DEGREE DIAL
His Sun-Jupiter connection is 67.5 degrees. It is a mini minor aspect that I 'discovered' working with midpoints in the 22.5 degree range. Some midpoints were related to the same planets and the distance between these planets was 22.5 degrees or 67.5 or 157.5 or 112.5. I have for example Mars 158 degrees from Pluto, so that Mars = ASC/MC and Pluto is 157.5 degrees from ASC/MC.
I value the half semi square and the other distances in the 22.5 dial. I name them half semisquare (22.5), and sesquisemisquare (67.5) but I have not found more names yet and I am still searching the net. It is complicated to read these aspects, but on a certain level they contribute to the complete picture. Of course, the planets need to be significant in the chart or in the progressions in order to take them into account. I suppose that in the chart of Kohl Sun or Jupiter are angular or else this issue could not have been thát important.

SUN 67.5 JUPITER
Alfred Witte used the 22.5 degree dial for the first time. It is a frustrating distance. For example, when you want to have success (Jupiter) in life (Sun) and have to (hard aspect) perform (Sun) more and more (Jupiter).

In midpoint combinations in the range of 22.5 degrees, the Sun and Jupiter of Kohl are related to the same midpoints (in this case: Mars/Uranus and Mars/Saturn...). This combination can be read as: the frustrating will to perform even better is related to hard work (Mars + Saturn) and the drive Mars) to be fast or faster (Uranus).
