Three steps to analyze natal charts

Using a certain self developed method helps you to analyze natal charts. I think that my method quickly shows the most important qualities of a chart. This blog is about that method. I also published it on Astromarkt.

Almost 4 years ago I published about the method in "4 steps to read a chart" and I used the chart of Sir Winston Churchill as an example. In the following years I learned, and now I use 3 (giant) step: Astro ID, character and 'special patterns'. Sometimes the first giant step is enough. Let me show you what I mean. You'll see that you get a clear picture of that difference, almost immediately.

STEP 1
What does the chart show us? The Astro ID…
The ID of a person describes special marks. The Astro ID is about special marks of the chart. The special position is for:
- the planet without major aspects like conjunct, sextile, trine, square and opposition within 5 degrees of orb or within sign. That planet is 'calling!' (drawing our attention and working at any possible level). The 'calling' planet is the most important prominent planet.
- angularity: the planet in a sharp and narrow angel with the Ascendant-Descendant line (conjunct, opposition or square) and the planet on Midheaven. Those are the cornerstones of the chart.
- the planet of orientation: the first (outer) planet rising before the Sun (that is the planet that you see first when you move your finger from the Sun clockwise). Skip Venus and Mercury (unless they are important because of another indication here).

There is at least one important position in your chart! If you have more than 3, it will be more difficult to focus.

HITLER: Sun and Uranus are calling, Mercury is angular = crucially rising before the Sun...That tells us that we deal with a : controversial - URANUS - communicator - MERCURY - and leader - SUN -. or someone with controversial opnions that are being noticed.  Jupiter rises before the Sun. He is a controversial leader with an international orientation and oratory skills.

CARTLAND: The Astro ID shows a lot of prominent planets here, too. Venus, Jupiter and Mercury are calling! and Neptune is rising before the Sun. She has Moon, Jupiter and Saturn angular.

(You immediately see the Moon-Venus-Neptune prominence and realize that there could be some sort of artistic talent in the air, but maybe not art because there is no connection between Venus, Moon and Neptune).
Most important is Mercury-Venus-Jupiter combination 'calling', of course. It is a statement for successful and talented writing/talking, sweet stories etcetera, or for example for a popular (Venus-Jupiter) author (Mercury).
The difference between Hitler's chart and that of Barbara Cartland is obvious. The first chart shows a will to be special, a leader, someone who changes the world at any possible level. The second wants to talk or write nicely and kindly. That difference added with the circumstances (he a man, she a woman, he poor, she rich) makes a lot of difference.

!Not so well known people have important placements, too. They use them at any kind of level. The fact that their are a number of important placements doesn't always mean that the owner of that chart is a VIP. It is more that your see the main issues and the most important qualities!

Sometimes one step is enough, like with the charts of Adolf Hitler and Barbara Cartland. The first one brought  us destruction and war, the other one romance... You could stop here (and come back tomorrow) because you just found the essential information in the chart. The Astro ID gave you just as much information as their official pictures do!:)

How long will this love be going on?

How long will this last?
One of the first posts on Astrology-love-romance.blogspot.com is about this question and the effect of the elements on the length of a relationship. The composition of elements in your natal chart is one of the indications of how long you and a partner will be together. Of course there are other indications, too*). But the elements certainly have a big role to play.

Earth signs are the signs of realism and the wish to be respected. They are contributing to the length of relationships. Air signs are the signs of communications (and flirtations:). The fire signs are full of passion and the water signs are to be seduced (even though they like to belong to someone). The elements don't indicate if you will be faithful and true!:)

Capital signs take the initiative. The fixed signs hold on to what they have got. And the movable signs? They are not very stable.
EXAMPLES:

Mel Gibson has 60% in fixed signs and that might be the reason why his marriage lasted more than 20 years.

Rihanna (20 February 1988) has Moon, Venus and Mars in fire signs, the signs of passion.
Chris Brown (5 May 1989) doesn't have any position in fire signs. He has Sun, Moon and Venus in Taurus, 60% in earth signs all together.
See my blog
Art&Astrology for more about their relationship.
Dr. Robert Schuller (the television minister) has Moon, Venus and Mars in earth signs and that contributes to the length of his marriage.

Dutch Prince Bernhard (two daughters with two mistresses) had Venus and Mars in passionate fire signs. He did not divorce. He was a Cancer with 40% in watersigns.

His wife, Queen Juliana, had Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars in fixed signs. She knew about her husband's affairs and didn't divorce him after all.

John Kerry has Sun in Sagittarius, Moon and Mars in Gemini and Venus in Scorpio square Pluto. That is 3 times a flexible sign. He divorced and remarried a rich woman.

J.W. Jones, had Moon Venus and Mars in fire signs. Perhaps that explains the need for a lot of women.

John F. Kennedy had Sun and Venus in Gemini, Moon in Virgo (three times flexible signs) and he had Mars in Taurus. One woman was not enough for him. See the post about John and Jackie Kennedy.

Camille Parker Bowles waited all her life for the moment of her marriage (6 April 2005). She was the mistress of Prince Charles when they both were married. She has 50% in water signs. (See the post about Charles and Camilla).

Elisabeth Taylor (see link to Art&Astrology) has 50% in watersigns. She also has Gemini on the cusp of the 7th house of marriage. Gemini is an air sign and a double bodied sign. But that is another story. Read about that in the earlier post on this blog about
multiple marriages and double bodied signs.

*) Strong indications for divorce are in the aspects between the 1st and 7th house and:
- for women, afflictions between Sun-Mars, Sun-Uranus, Venus-Uranus or Mars-Saturn
- nfor men, afflictions between Moon-Saturn, Moon-Neptune, Venus-Neptune or Mars-Uranus
When there are more 3 or more of these indications it is hard to get or stay married, especially when it is the first relationship...

PS This is of course not all...

Conspicuous by absence

The not aspected planet and the element without placements are more just as important as the person who is conspicuous by absence.

The missing link in the chart as an important clue

CONSPICUOUS BY ABSENCE

Harry Potter was written by J.K. Rowling. She has no aspects at all with the planet of communications, Mercury (apart from a very wide conjunction with Venus). How that works in her private life, I do not know. For writing and concentration you need silence and possible your contacts suffer when you are facing a deadline. But the fact she became an author is remarkable, giving this NA (Not Aspected) Mercury.
Jeanne d’Arc did not have planets in the element fire. Yet she became a warrior. And she died by fire. Oprah Winfrey has no planets in the element earth (the material element) and started very poor. Still she became one of the richest women in the world! Hillary Clinton also lacks earth signs and the Sun is only making one aspect: a quintile with Saturn. Rich Donald Trump has no placements in earth. Liz Greene has no planets in water signs but she occupies herself with the psychological side of astrology. Theo van Gogh –Dutch director - had no planets in water and was killed by Mohammed B, who has 60% of his planets in water signs. Michael Palin amuses people with his stories about travelling with anunaspected Venus in Gemini (an indication for the love of telling stories). Evita Perron did not have major aspects with Neptune and became a legend.

You see my point…That what your chart does not have is that what you seem to be looking for in life if it has not already found you…So find the missing link in your chart and see how to use it. No air, but maybe good aspects with Mercury or Venus? Like Mary J. Blige who communicates perfectly by means of her musical talent. Those who miss fire in their charts might look for the position and aspects of Mars or Jupiter. If you have a NA Mars, find the planet in Aries or Scorpio or look for another symbol of fire (like the Sun).

When you come on earth with a desire for material security because there is no such a basic security for youyou are eager to find it. Donald Trump used his Saturn, ruler sixth house of working and the conjunction with Venus (ruler of the tenth house of career) to make it in the world outside using his talent for knowing what is worthwhile. Oprah’s square between Venus and Saturn did the same. Donald and Oprah have no earth. Theo van Gogh had no water, but his chart has Sun square Neptune (a water sign ruler) andNeptune is the symbol of movies. You see people somehow compensate for the lacking element in their natal chart.

Some interpretations...

- No aspects with:
Sun = seeking for creativity, leadership and fame, health is important
Moon= seeking consistency in habits, a family, emotions
Mercury = seeking for contacts and ways for communication
Venus = seeking for love, kindness and sympathy
Mars = seeking for activities, work
Jupiter = seeking for a conviction or religion.Wants development.
Saturn = seeking for stability and security, status
Uranus = seeking for sensation, new items
Neptune = seeking mystic, romance, rest
Pluto = seeking challenges and influence

- Missing elements:

Fire = looking for possibilities to express aggression and feel vital
Earth = looking for possibilities to collect material and feel secure
Air = looking for social contacts and exchange of ideas
Water = looking for emotions and the feeling to ‘belong’

PS
Fire signs are Aries, Leo and Sagittarius
Earth signs are Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn
Air signs are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius
Water signs are Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces

For examples of the importance of the planet (or Sun or Moon) without aspects within 5 degrees of orb (or in sign), see the label ' calling planet'.
