Rescue of first miner

In 2010 there was a mining accident in Copiapo. People all over the world were excited when the first miner was rescued.

This is the chart of the moment that the first miner was rescued and arrived above earth (at 00:10 today). What is in the chart?


1. Uranus and Jupiter are elevated. The combination is reflecting the relief...All over the world people are happy with the rescue. 
2. Ceres and Moon are on either side of the horizon, mirroring the return to the family (Ceres is the symbol of roots and genes, Moon is the symbol of home). 
3. And we see Venus and Saturn without major aspects in sign; there is joy and there are concerns at any possible level (sic...) There is a strong concern for the results and there are great responsibilities (Saturn is rising before Sun and Mercury). They go together with the relief and joy.
4. I particulary like Sun square Venus/Jupiter, for joy. It is a perfect day to get married, by the way...
5. And how about the moon in the very final minutes of Sagittarius? It is a void of course Moon (a Moon that will not make any more aspects in sign). There is a myth about the bad effects of a Void Moon in the charts of inaugurations.  
I doubt that the family of the first miner would agree with a ' bad'  void moon.... 

If a Moon is without major aspects in sign, the Moon is ' calling' (IMO). That means that emotions are without control, at any possible level. And that is perfectly understandable here....

Faisal Shahzad, Mars-Uranus and terrorism

Terrorism is related Mars-Uranus (the short fuse). There is an article on my site Astromarkt about Mars-Uranus . I quote:

"....Suicide killers of the London Subway Blast (July 7, 2005). They were born:
a. October 20, 1974: a conjunction of Sun, Mars and Uranus and Sun conjunct the midpoint Mars/Uranus

Faisal Shahzad,the man arrested for the incident on Times Square (trying to explode a car) was born on June 30, 1979 if Wiki is right. On June 30, 1979 Mars was quindecile*) Uranus. It is not that you have to become a terrorist with a Mars-Uranus affliction, but this aspect is always there in the charts of terrorist (statistics don't work vice versa!). In this specific case Mars is the first rising outer planet (the oriental planet), if we skip Varuna: an activist, a soldier, an entrepeneur, someone who acts first (and maybe thinks later?).
If we don't leave Varuna out, we get the picture of a person with an orienation on 'fame' by action. The effect of the aspect combination should be seen in the light of the man's background, of course.

Watch the 'soft' aspects of the Sun with Saturn and Uranus, the combination of restricted freedom. Maybe that is reflecting that it was easy to find him. This d.o.b. might be right.

Landing on the Moon

This is the chart of an important moment in history: the moment of the landing of Apollo 11 on the surface of the Moon as seen from Houston. For such a moment you would expect an extreme chart, but it is a rather ordinary one. It is not the chart of the event on the moon. It would be nice to have a chart with coordinates of the Moon and the position of the earth and the planets, but there is no such chart (and I cannot calculate one). Houston was the center of activity, home for the astronauts, so I took this chart.

WORRIES FOLLOWED BY EMOTIONAL CONTACT
In the chart the Moon is inconjunct Saturn but that aspect has already been tight and so the critical moment had gone bye. The meaning of Moon inconjunct Saturn is misbalanced and extreme worry (and we know why!:). There is an increasing quindecile of Moon and Node, connecting emotions and groups. Soon after the landing Neil Armstrong would step down the ladder and tell the world about it.

JUPITER AND URANUS
Jupiter and Uranus are opposition Aries Point, and that is important, because astronauts (like astrologers) frequently (if not always) have an important combination of Jupiter and Uranus in their charts. The combination of Jupiter, Uranus and Aries Point is reflecting the positive change for the world and the world watching the new developments. JUPITER
These guys are true travelers. They boldly went were no man had gone before and they safely returned. Jupiter is the planet for those who travel. Jupiter is connected to the Midheaven (career) of the two astronauts who's Midheaven we know.

BUZZ ALDRIN
The conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus is trine the Sun of Edwin Aldrin, who has Jupiter sextile Uranus in the natal chart. His Jupiter is square Midheaven and the elevated Uranus is semi quintile MC.
Pallas is elevated in the natal chart. At the moment of the landing Pallas was tightly conjunct his Descendant. Pallas perhaps symbolizes the importance of patterns, but Pallas is also Pallas Athene.
Aldrin is a religious person (Neptune opposition Ascendant and square Jupiter).

NEIL ARMSTRONG
The moment of the landing is exactly with transit Mars on the Descendant of Neil Armstrong. Even the local Ascendant of Houston was opposition his. It is a moment of action, of 'hitting the target'. In his progressed chart Mars was close to the Ascendant as well. Mars is sesqui semi square AC/MC in his natal chart, reflecting the importance of the military (action, sports etc.).

Pallas would be conjunct his natal Moon shortly after the landing.
The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction is quindecile his Uranus (ruler of his Midheaven). In the natal chart Jupiter is inconjunct the Aquarius Midheaven and that is another Jupiter-Uranus combination. In the progressed chart Jupiter already had been square Uranus and the combination of Jupiter and Uranus was in the first degree of Gemini, sextile Aries Point.
Armstrong was born to draw most of the attention (Sun opposition MC).

MICHAEL COLLINS (31 October 1930 Rome, no hour of birth)
The progressed Saturn of Collins (the man who remained in the Apollo 11 and who was responsible for the safe return on board of the 'moonwalkers') was exactly trine Midheaven of the landing. Progressed Uranus was inconjunct the MC of that Moment (for the tension, I guess).

Chart of the earthquake in L'Aquila (Italy) and Uranus

This is the chart of the moment of the Italian earthquake today at 3:32 a.m. Mid European Summer Time. Uranus is the symbol of shocking (...) events. Uranus is important in this chart for 3 reasons:

1. Uranus is the first outer planet rising before the Sun: there is an orientation on an accident or a shocking event
2. Uranus does not make Ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees (in other words: Uranus is 'calling'! and that means that Uranus can be shocking at any possible level)
3. Uranus is exactly square the midpoint Sun/Moon so that there is 'a reigning need' to shock the world

As Uranus is exactly trine Midheaven, there is a way to express the meaning of the combination of these 3 reasons: an orientation on a substantial shock at any possible level. Apparently there was a potential for a shocking event and it was in aspect with the local meridian.

Dunblane Massacre, 13 years ago

Yesterday it was 13 years ago that on 13 March 1996 in Dunblane (Scotland) Thomas Watt Hamilton killed 16 children and one adult on a primary school. The killer, who was probably a pedophile, was 43 at the time. You see the chart of the moment of the event and on the outer side are the positions on the killer's day of birth at noon (as his birth time is unknown).

Notice that the killer has Sun square Pluto and a Scorpio Moon. It seems that anger about allegations about pedophily were a reason for 'revenge' and that is corresponding with the nature of Scorpio and Pluto. With 60% of his placements in fixed signs he ws likely not to forget easily and will hold on to his objectives. At the final moment his Mars in Scorpio (that is opposition Venus, reflecting passions and sexual tension) was exactly square the Midheaven of the time and place of the event.

The chart of the event has Uranus in the eight equal house, conjunct Midheaven and ruling Midheaven. Mars is the most elevated planet, rises before the Sun and is square Ascendant. Astrology chart of Mumbay, November 26, 21h15 IST

An event chart draws the picture of a moment in time with a range of possibilities or potentials that need not happen. But most of the time, IF something happens the event chart corresponds with the event. The terror at Mumbai is astrologically represented by minor aspects and midpoints in what I name 'the chart behind the chart' and in particular by: Uranus square Mars/Pluto and 75 degrees from the midpoint ASC/MC. The midpoint of Ascendant and Midheaven is the only true astrological connection to the place of the event, Mumbai as this midpoint corresponds with the latitude and longitude of a place on earth.

CHART AT FIRST SIGHT
At first sight, this chart is the chart of an international gathering of people in times where money or politics are somewhat 'uncontrolled' (as Pluto is 'calling'). Jupiter happens to be the symbol of hotels and travelling and the Moon of housing. Both are important in this chart (Jupiter angulare, Moon rising before the Sun).

CHART BEHIND THE CHART
At second sight you see the importance of the position of the dispositor of the MC, Mars in 22.5 degree aspect with that calling Pluto. Mars-Pluto is the combination for using force and for political struggles. And Uranus is exactly square the midpoint combination of Mars and Pluto. Uranus is always there when there is news. And news mostly is not pleasant.

Mars-Pluto's aspect is valid for all of the world at that moment in time. Uranus square Mars/Pluto, too. The only connection with Mumbai would be with the cross of the chart (ASC and Midheaven). And that connection is there: midpoint ASC/MC is 3d45 Gemini.That is exactly 75 degrees away from Uranus = Mars/Pluto.

Above is the event chart of the moment of the first attack in Mumbai showing 'the chart behind the chart'. Notice the active minor aspects (Sun-Saturn 75, Mars-Neptune 75, Saturn-Neptune 150) and midpoint combinations (Uranus almost exactly square Mars/Pluto for the potential of radical action). And compare the chart with the one below, showing only the major (Ptolemaic) aspects.


At the same moment somewhere in Mumbai there might have been a party going on, people celebrating their birthday or wedding. But there is a potential for violence (is not there always?). That potential is shown in the tightest midpoint combination of the moment: Uranus square Mars/Pluto (rebels using violence) and in the minor aspect Mars 22.5 (half semi square) Pluto.

Another observation is that Pluto (in the final degree of Sagittarius) is 'calling' (not making Ptolemaic aspect in sign or orb 5 degrees). Pluto is the dramatic component in event charts, pointing at the use of force, power or politics. I dare not hope that this was the final case of religious fanatism. But this one will be remembered because of the amount of the killed and injured people and because of the international effect with so many tourists involved. Also the attack was committed by foreigners. Jupiter is exactly on an angle for 'the crucial international' component.

To me it seems that the 'chart behind the chart' holds the key to not very obvious information that becomes apparent at the moment that something 'triggers' the potential. On the other hand, this event must have been prepared and coordinated a long time ago. One might wonder why the terrorist choose this moment and day over others and what relationship there is with this moment and the charts of the terrorists, like there was with Atta and September 11.

SATURN, NEPTUNE AND 1989

It may not be a hot topic, 1989, but yesterday this year drew my attention. It was a very important year. It was the year of the fall of the Berlin Wall. It was the year of a new episode of the Internet. And it happened to be the year of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, too. That combination of planets seems to be involved with Internet and communism.

BERLIN WALL

There are several historical moments related to the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989.

1. Minister Schabowski said at 18:53 hours, in answer to the question of a journalist, that the borders should open at once ("Dass tritt nach meiner Kenntnis ...ist das sofort, unverzüglich"). Hot news and that is why Uranus is right on the Descendant.
2. At 21:30 hour people started to cross the border. They lost their passport if they did,however. The MC is conjunct Jupiter (for joy, international, travel) opposition Saturn and Neptune.
3. At 23:30 hour Pluto is on the IC (opposition MC). Pluto is the most prominent planet of the day already, strong in Scorpio, sesquisquare Aries Point and oriental (rising before the Sun). At 23:30 hour the first Eastern German is allowed to travel and cross the border and allowed to get back if he wants to.
4. The official timing was supposed to be on November 10, at 4 a.m. That is with Chiron on the MC and Jupiter on top.
The event chart above is the chart of 23:30 hours and shows the changes this way:

1. Sun in Scorpio semi square Uranus and Sun 22.5 Uranus/Pluto; a day of frustrating changes and an impuls
2. Pluto's position (oriental, sesqui square Zero Aries and crucial (angular) for a prominent change
3. Jupiter opposition Saturn (orb 36 minutes): travelling (Jupiter) with limitations (Saturn) and a question of moving
4. Jupiter opposition Neptune (orb 23 minutes): question of ideological conviction
5. Saturn conjunct Neptune (orb 13 minutes): start (conjunction) of fall(Saturn) of an ideology (Neptune)

SATURN-NEPTUNE
The aspct of Saturn conjunct Neptune comes back with an interval of about 36 years. Before 1989 that was in 1953, the year that the Russian dictator Stalin died. That ended a period of severe supression. In the year 2026 it is time for the next Saturn-Neptune conjunction. The opposition of Saturn and Neptune was in 2005/2006. That was when Angela Merkel became the prime minister of Germany. She grew up in Eastern Germany! It seems that Saturn-Neptune conjunctions and oppositions are related to communism.

Neptune is the symbol of ideology and belief, the collective and all things that go 'beyond', far or 'without limitation'. Saturn's symbol could be that of the fall and the end (of a period in time). The conjunction is the aspect of the beginning. Jupiter in opposition with Saturn/Neptune adds joy.

INTERNET
In 1989 ARPANET stopped and the Internet became the standard for the world wide web. In 2005 (Saturn opposition Neptune) the second fase of WWW, Net 2.0, started. Web 2.0 will somday end the need to have personal software. It will be available on the Internet!

PERSONAL SATURN-NEPTUNE
In personal charts a close aspect of Saturn and Neptune often refers to illnesses, if not your own, than of illness as an important issue in your life or carreer. When you compare that to the way Saturn-Neptune combinations effect the world, you could see same resemblance (the decay of a system). Noel Tyl tried to describe Saturn-Neptune in a positive way. In Solar Arcs even Tyl speaks of 'suffering, losing focus, giving up, denial, depression' etc.

Still, I have seen Saturn-Neptune being mentioned in connection with the Internet, as well. That might be because of the unlimited business or because of the viruses that circle the net:)

If in close aspect (within 1,5 degree) and if Saturn or Neptune has a prominent place in the chart (for example: angular or oriental) the issue of illnesses could be important in your life, just like losing focus or control at some moment in your life.

In 1989 Saturn was conjunct Neptune within 1.5 degree of orb at different moments between mid February and December 6. That was also between November 1952 and Septembder 1953. See your efemeris or Astro.com for the right moments and positions.

SEPTEMBER 11, ATTA, BUSH AND QUESTIONS LIKE: WAS IT FAKE OR FATE?

In 2006 I wrote a special about the attack on the Twin Towers on the 11th of September 2001. I looked back at the event chart, the chart of the president and the chart of one of the terrorists involved. The article cannot be reproduced on the Internet (on my site Astromarkt)and it should be rewritten anyway. Besides: I read that a majority of USA citizens believe that it was not Atta con suis who did it or Osama bin Laden was not behind it. So: time for a new version.

ATTA: UNREASONABLE RADICAL
Mohammed Atta is said to be the main suspect and the leader of the group of terrorists involved. As it happens, the chart of Mohammed Atta, one of the terrorists, is the chart of a radical and a person you cannot reason with. The chart lacks, for example, placements in air signs and Mercury (important on Aries Point, planet of communications), is also heavily afflicted by the conjunction of Uranus and Pluto. The combination of Mercury, Uranus and Pluto is good for getting radical ideas as you can see in the post about Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson.
Mars is oriental and ‘calling’ in his chart. This position is common in the charts of persons who are prominently active or aggressive at any –sometimes not controllable - level.
He shares a Sun with the midpoint Mars/Uranus *)with other terrorists and activists. So if someone was making up his I.D., it must have been a good astrologer to choose this birthday for a terrorist.
In the year 2000 he had progressed Sun semi square progressed Neptune (for the frustrating connection with ideology, being isolated and disappointed) and in 2001 his progressed Mars was sesquiquadrate Saturn, a symbol of energy ending (death).

(When a tape was found (with Atta laughing and joking) Transit Neptune (18th degree of Aquarius) was opposition his natal Mars in the 18th degree of Leo. Transit Uranus (in the 12th degree of Pisces) was opposition his progressed Mars (progressed to the 12th degree of Virgo).


SATURN CONNECTING ATTA AND BUSH
Note that Atta’s Saturn (26th Aries) is conjunct the MC of president George W. Bush (25th Aries). And that his natal Saturn is on the descendant of the very moment of the attack (8:46 , that is when Atta died). Saturn is connecting their charts and most of the time being connected by Saturn is being connected by bad news.

THE SOLAR OF BUSH

The solar chart of George W. Bush for his 2001 birthday has Mars and Pluto opposition Saturn and Vulcanus in the eight house. It is a combination of danger. Transit Pluto was inconjunct the president’s Sun at the time. Stress and impressive events force him to make changes or change him, involuntarily.
Charts of leaders are very important for the charts of the people of the nation. This transit tells us about a confrontation of life and death with a lot of loss.

THE EVENT CHART (ATTACK)

VULCANUS WITH MARS/URANUS, URANUS AND PLUTO ON ASC/MC
I found Vulcanus (the supposed to be planet) exactly sesquisquare Mars/Uranus.
Vulcanus symbolizes terror (public violence) and Mars/Uranus symbolizes the terrorist.
This dangerous midpoint combination lasts all morning and is still active when the last tower falls, at 10:30 a.m.

That is the moment when Uranus has traded places with Pluto on the time/place-related midpoint Ascendant/Midheaven. Uranus and Pluto combinations quickly and completely change things, cause revolutions and sometimes: destruction and demolition. It is the combination of force (Pluto) with explosives (Uranus).

GEMINI FOR TWINS
The Moon was in the final (…) degree of Gemini, symbol of the Twin and in the 8th house of transformations when the second tower fell down at 10:30 a.m. Saturn and Vulcanus were also in Gemini.

THE FIRST PLANE
At 8:46 the first plane hits the building in Manhattan. Pluto is then exactly at the midpoint Ascendant/MC. Pluto is the planet of terror and destruction.

SECOND TOWER COLLAPSES
It is 10:30 when the Moon is in the eight house of life and death and Uranus is in aspect with the midpoint of Ascendant and MC. Uranus is always there when something explodes or collides or when something shocks the nation. In the chart of the bomb dropping on Hiroshima Uranus is on top, too. See that chart here.)

FATE?
Every single day Pluto and/or Uranus make aspects to the midpoint of Ascendant and Midheaven and every single day Neptune or Uranus is conjunct the IC or MC at a certain moment and place. Accidents and sad things, earth quakes and disaster happen every day. Most of them could have been prevented.

The Moon is in Gemini only about 2 days in a month. Saturn and Vulcanus are in the 8th house for 2 hours a day. Every month the Moon is conjunct the fixed star Betelgeuse, announcing disaster and calamities. That is during 2 hours.
Less frequent is the aspect that Vulcanus makes with Mars/Uranus, but still this occurs a few times a year.

The chance that all of this will happen within 2 hours is however another chapter…The chart of 0911 is the chart of a horrible and unique disaster that didn’t have to take place at all. The idea did not come from the stars (des astres...).

PS September 18, 2008
*)The Mountain Astrologer mentions that Edward Gillam pointed at the septile connection between Sun-Mars-Uranus-Descendant in the chart of the moment of the first hit at the Towers. Septiles make it easy to connect planets. Mars-Uranus is frequent in the charts of accidents, terrorism and in military actions. That makes the timing even more special than it already was in my astrologer's eyes.

A BOMB EXPLOSION IN CALI reminds us of August 7, 1956

Today a car bomb cost the lives of 4 innocent people in Cali, Colombia. Cali has been the scene of an explosion before. It is still not certain whether it had been a terrorist or political act or an accident. Seven trucks loaded with explosives destroyed part of Cali on August 7, 1956 at 1:05 a.m. The astrological chart of the incident has a calling Sun right at the midpoint of a prominent Uranus and dito Pluto. Uranus and Pluto are in combination the planets of immediate change (and sometimes also: of disaster).

Here you see the chart of that moment in time, with the Midheaven in Aquarius, ruled by the oriental and calling Uranus (N.A. in sign or orb 5 degrees) while Pluto is on the IC. Uranus and Pluto: it is a revolutionary combination of prominent planets.

The Sun does not make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees and is sesquisquare Aries Point, and is calling for attention, right in the middle of the important Uranus and Pluto.

(BTW Notice that Uranus is sextile the Ascendant. IMO that sextiles do not mean 'harmless' or 'harmonious', but 'easy ways', 'letting go').

That explosion in 1956 took the lives of at least 2000 persons. And it ended the political life of General Rojas Pinilla. This chart of the moment in time that changed the lives of thousands of people who were at the place of the explosion has a prominent place for the symbols of an immediate urge for change and revolution: Uranus and Pluto. It does not mean something had to explode this way. It was just a perfect moment for an explosion or any other accident or sudden change.

CHART EVACUATION NEW ORLEANS

Today the people of New Orleans have to be evacuated for the second time, this time for Gustav, a hurricane even more destructive than Katrina already was.And that was only 3 years ago. Late Monday or Tuesday they expect the 'mother of all storms' to make landfall. And later on Tuesday (about 2 p.m.) Gustav will reach city of NO.

The chart of the moment of the planned evacuation is here below.

Notice Ascendant and MC in the 26th degree of Movable Signs (Virgo and Gemini) with Uranus in the 22nd of Pisces and Pluto in the 29th of Sagittarius. It reads like ASC/MC = Uranus/Pluto...a stressful moment of complete move and change is starting.

KATRINA AND GUSTAV

The chart of Katrina has Pluto in the 22nd of Sagittarius. The chart of Gustav has Uranus in the 22nd of Pisces. It seems that the 22nd degree of movable signs is important in the chart of NO, the USA or for storms.

22nd DEGREE MOVABLE SIGNS
I took a look in the Koppejan book of images and degrees (based upon the visions of Janduz) and I found 3 times a oourtisane or other sort of a Delilah and 1 time the picture of men fighting. That one was the 22nd of Sagittarius, the degree were Pluto was at the time of Katrina. Now Uranus is square that point in heaven. We might say that Uranus is reviving Katrina.

Still, 22nd of Sagittarius is a much more violent picture than 22nd of Pisces is, though both of the degrees are connected to fixed stars symbolizing haste and wasting energy. I hope for the residents of NO that they won't see there recently redecorated houses being devastated again. And that Uranus force in 22nd of Pisces won't be able to beat the strength of Pluto in 22nd of Sagittarius.

MAJOR CHANGE
No matter what the storm in NO will do, the transitting square of Uranus and Pluto cannot be whiped out just like that. This aspects has a sudden transformative impact. More about that in another post.

TRANSIT URANUS, MORALES AND MICE

As a Sagittarian I will have Uranus square Sun this year, for the second time. The first hit was a close encounter with a little mouse in the house (SHRIEK!@#$). They say that the final hit is the worst one. Maybe then it will be a BIG mouse!?:) Uranus is for adrenaline...And in a few days time Mitt Romney will have T Uranus conjunct natal Sun. What little mouse will make HIM jump at the couch?

I have several examples of the intense force of a Uranus transit and of the position of Uranus on the MC or on top (square Ascendant) in an event chart. Whatever happens with transit Uranus, it will be a surprise and it might be shocking to yourself or others. In a big way, when you are a public figure. And sometimes in a tiny way when you are a simple astrologer, blogging. Maybe doing that is enough adrenaline and Uranus does not want to make it worse?:)

EXPERIENCES
I have seen several examples of the effect of transit Uranus in the charts of public figures. Most of the time they make news, often it is not pleasant news. Today's example is the transit of URANUS square the progressed Sun of Evo Morales. Over 60% of the population of Bolivia supports his policy. But his greatest enemies stay in function...And maybe that caused the same shock as seeing a mouse running in your living room. Evo Morales was born October 26, 1959 in Bolivia, time unknown. Reyes, his enemy (born April 20, 1954), has his Mars conjunct the Saturn of Morales, like a nail on a coffin. Uranus produces adrenaline...

A LIST OF URANUS
In 2006 I noted for Uranus on my site Astromarkt:
- Uranus conjunct MC at the moment that an ice hall in Germany collapsed and
- Uranus conjunct MC at the moment of a bomb in Israel
( In history see the chart of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima with Uranus on top, square Ascendant).
- Revelations, like those about Einstein and his affairs with women, in the news when transit Uranus crossed his MC.
- T Uranus square, opposition or inconjunct (progressed) Sun for Dutch 'top' criminal Willem Holleeder and George Michael at the time of their arrest and for Dave Brown at the time of the trial. Transit Uranus was square the Sun of the Israelian minister Katsav when he was being accused of undesired intimacies. And Litvinenko had both Uranus and Pluto in aspect with his Sun when his life was in danger and his skin changed dramatically.
- T Uranus conjunct the Sun of an entertainer with a secret affair.
- A Dutch minister had to quit because of an affair caused by others, when he had Transit Uranus sesquisquare Sun.
- A Dutch television personality had progressed Sun conjunct Uranus when she had a car accident.
- Transit Uranus inconjunct progressed Sun of Madonna accompanied the discussed adoption of an African child (together with T Saturn semi square progressed Sun).
- There was an exciting transit of Uranus conjunct the Sun of Daniel Craig during the release of his first James Bond.
- Transit Uranus square Sun in 2006 was what the Belgian Prince Laurent had, when it became known that he used marine funds to decorate his apartment.
- Sun-Uranus afflictions Uranus afflicted the Ascendant of Robin Williams and also the Ascendant of Günther Grass when something out of the past became news.
- And with Transit Uranus conjunct Venus a Dutch author became a centerfold in Playboy.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCES
So I had expected more than just one little mouse. There is another chance for Uranus to make me shake on the 2nd of October (my natal Sun, square) or later in October, on the 16th (square Progressed Ascendant and inconjunct both Pluto and Neptune). Last time T Uranus was opposition the midpoint of Neptune/Pluto I had a very very minor surgery on my foot, when the aspect was exact. Uranus is in Pisces (like my Ascendant is) so that fits! BTW, have I mentioned before that in my chart exact transits and progression have made me a fan of tight aspects, yet?

THE POTENTIAL OF A CHART and the Earthquake of Lisbon 1755

This is a philosophical post about potential, the astrologers’ pitfall and the positive idea that I got out of it all. Yes, it is Sunday!

Basically, all issues have a place in a chart. All of the possible sunsigns, planets, asteroids and midpoints have their place. The potential is there for ALL possible events. . Think about an earthquake, an accident and a wedding. At the same moment, maybe not even far away, there is a birth, a first kiss or a funeral. The chart of that funeral and of that wedding would almost be the same, like those of time twins or twins born soon after each other. And because it is possible to have a wedding and a funeral on the same time and place, there is a potential for both! Look and you will find?

THE DIFFERENCE
I started thinking that if that is so, in what way is one chart different from another? (if all is there, if every possible issue is present?) I had to think about that when I almost fell into the trap that sceptics have more than once prepared for astrologers: the chart that fits, but has the wrong moment!

I was looking at the chart of the earthquake of Lisbon*) on November 1, 1755 between 9:30 and 9:40 a.m. I accidentally typed 10 instead of 11. And you know what? I found Saturn and Uranus both in hard aspect with the midpoint Asc/MC in the chart of October 1. And that is corresponding with a hard (Saturn) shock (Uranus), is not it? It is! Somewhere, any time there is an earthquake,, maybe even right now. And there might have been a minor shock before or after the big one. Who knows? But is sure was not a PROMINENT earthquake.

On the right moment on November 1, the Midheaven is square Pluto/Vulcanus and Uranus/Vulcanus AND square Saturn/Pluto (67.5 degrees away from Uranus!).There you are! This is a potential for an earthquake or for any disaster and something activated that potential. That activating force was Uranus. Uranus is of crucial influence down under in the chart (below the earths’ surface, on the other side) and is trine the crossing point of horizon and meridian of Lisbon. Uranus is the planet for a shock. Pluto is conjunct Ascendant for power. Moon is on the Midheaven and opposition Zero Aries is indicating the floods and is right in the middle of the combination for use of power (Mars/Pluto).

So on the specific day, we see the prominence of Moon, Uranus and Pluto (angular/crucial). Saturn calling (no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degree) in Capricorn points at the serious side of the event. And Jupiter on the MC tells us that the earthquake was great. Jupiter is ruler 1 and on the MC. This event became a famous event. As the capital of Portugal was on the right place and candles were burning because of All Saints (maybe symbolized by Jupiter) the city was struck AND burned down until the flood came. About 40.000 persons lost their life!

I don’t want to be cynical, but it is a fact that Lord Byron was right about astrology and the ‘pitiless, passionless eyes, Cold fires, yet with power to burn and brand, His nothingness into man’. When a disaster of nature force happens, you will not be compensated and you cannot blame any of these stars and call them to the courtroom.

MY CONCLUSION
What I learned of those two charts (the one of October 1 and the event’s chart) is that there is a potential in each chart. But some of the potential is prominent and ‘shows off’. Other potentials might have grown in the right situation but could remain unused. Everybody can be a potential killer. But in certain conditions (a nice environment, nobody around whom you would like to kill, good genes), you may never use that potential. Even if a person is very aggressive there is a way out (working hard, sports, the army, therapy, hunting…). Suppose that you are a potential singer, but you do not have good looks…If you don’t happen to be the cousin of a manager in the music business and you don’t have the money for plastic surgery, you will have to keep singing in the bath room. But, in the right conditions and provided that you can playback, you might make it. I have written a little book about the way to find the natural potential (Astro I.D.) by looking at the most prominent lights and planets.

PS The idea that you can become anything you want is not correct, of course. It would take a lot of tablets or pills to make a craw sing. But within the potential that you have, you have various possibilities. And that idea might be the power of positive thinking!

CHART OF THE EARTHQUAKE LOS ANGELES 29th JULY 2008

Shaking, rythm, shock, excitement, news...all of these words belong to the astrological symbol Uranus. Uranus was tightly trine the Midheaven of the moment of the earthquake in LA, yeasterday. Ceres, mother Earth, is on the Midheaven. Luckily no one was injured and there was little damage.
