A blogger/journalist in my country couldn't leave Turkey. If you want to know why, read this:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/dutch-metro-journalist-ebru-umar-arrested-in-turkey-a6998286.html She is one of the many persons who got arrested for insulting the President of Turkey, Recep Erdogan. Because he has the key in hands to allow migrants to enter Europe or not, the EU permits him to prosecute anyone who doesn't agree with him. Mr Erdogan is in the news often these days. Recently he ordered that members of the parliament are no longer immune for prosecution (see the Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/may/20/turkish-mps-vote-lifting-immunity-from-prosecution ) and a few weeks ago the Turkish' PM had to quit because of disagreement with this President. who lives in a a palace like a sultan in the Ottoman days (it is a palace 50 times larger than the White House, see the picture).
Anyway, the question is why doesn't he want to be offended thAt much?
1.
First of all, he is a Sun-Saturn man. Many dictators have a Sun-Saturn aspect. Dictators use to demand respect. They also want to rule alone, without being disturbed by those with other opinions. It seems to me that people who want to rule others don't like others to tell them that they are or do wrong at all, as if any disagreement nibs a bit of their amount of respect. The way people on the internet use to offend others these days is rather rude, and without much respect and so even more offensive to those who have high opinions of themselves or of their leader.
2.
Second: he is a Sun-Mars conflict man. With Sun-Mars you tend to get angry easily and when you do, your enemies have to start worrying about getting hurt, as you respond immediately.
3.
Third: he has progressed Sun inconjunct Mars now. It is not a good aspect for health because many with such a progression get injured, suffer from heart attacks or have to endure some kind of surgery. In such days you are more irritable than ever. So if you have the intention to say something bad about Recep Erdogan...don't do it now.
4.
He was born with an OOB Moon. Can we predict what an OOB Moon will do? The OOB Moon rolls the dice and doesn't play by the rules (see: http://www.forrestastrology.com/resources/articles/general-astrology/215-the-out-of-bounds-moon ) With this OOB Moon conjunct Mars emotions join anger.
When you try the color horoscope for Erdogan (see Astro.com), you may see the list 'Roles you play' ending in 'Sensitivity' (easily hurt by others). This sensitivity is now highlighted and with such a power, you can pay back all those evil creatures that make nasty comments or draw dirty pictures to show how angry they are about the lack of free press (even for 16 year old teenagers). Of course, no one wants to be offended publicly and of course, it is a bit foolish to do that just before you decide to go to a nation that apparently allows the President to be in charge for the full 100% and arrest anyone who is 'against' you. Right now his Sun inconjunct Mars may cause outbursts of anger. Warrior planets Mars is so very important in his chart already! Mars is rising before the Sun. People with Mars before the Sun are active and often are activist. They are do-ers or use their energy to play sports. Recep Erdogan used to play football and that s a good sport for someone with a prominent Mars. But now that he reached the highest position in the nation, I doubt that he will ever play these kind of games again. He is very very serious and getting more serious every day. The progressed Sun will be opposition Saturn within a year. As he took over the control over the army and gets more and more power every day, I wonder what kind of opposition Saturn will bring. Maybe bad elections? Here is the chart with transits and progressions for May 5 2016.
His Progressed Moon is now at the lowest level, ready to climb again.
Maybe you can predict the next steps in his career? I choose to wait a while until Mars moves on...:) And I remind you that the charts of the leader in many ways is the chart of a nation. Sun inconjunct Mars in the leader's chart isn't a peaceful aspect.

A lost battle and Mars inconjunct Eris
It is hard to believe today, but on August 30, 1799 a joined force
of British and Russian soldiers defeated the entire Dutch fleet and invaded a
part of Holland. Eventually, they had to give up and were allowed to leave the
country unmolested. Now how did the Dutch chart look that day?
![]() |
For a better view, click the chart |
When a war or a battle is concerned, I always look for Mars-Eris combinations as Mars is the symbol of war and competing, while Eris is the goddess of disharmony. I use to find that combination.
Transit Varuna (ruling the seas) was trine Eris (perfect
time for a sea battle) but…
Transit Mars in the 12th degree of Virgo was inconjunct
natal Eris, which is a perfect statement for a lost war incident.
Transit Eris was inconjunct natal IC (and Saturn inconjunct
natal DC).
That completes the rule of 3. Watch transit Jupiter moving on to make a
trine with Midheaven. That is why the victory couldn’t lastJ.]

Chart of Rik Mayall
At the age of 56 years the man who made me laugh so often, Rik Mayall, suddenly died on June 9, 2014. It is still unclear what was the cause of death.
Rik Mayall was born on March 7, 1958 in Harlow (UK) at 3.30 a.m. (says Astrodatabank). That gives him a chart with a clear pattern of artistic talent*). Look at the charts below and what you see is:
- Venus trine the elevated Moon in Libra and
- Venus square Neptune
- Venus square Midheaven
- Neptune on Midheaven
This in combination with the Pisces Sun in the second house of public performance. Also watch the creative (bi)quintiles of Sun and controversial Uranus with Ascendant..joined by Jupiter and Neptune for the fans.
Rik Mayall worked hard to gain his status. Saturn is 'calling' (no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees) and highlighted (square Sun/Moon midpoint) as an indication of ambition, all that is 'official' and serious, and of the importance of parents (and parenthood), business, management and duty. His parents taught drama and he studied drama at the University of Manchester. Saturn is for classics...
It's rarely enough to have talent and ambition. Rik Mayall had Sun sesquisquare Jupiter and quatronovile Pluto (a combination for self confidence and success). The Venus-Jupiter-Neptune aspect combination is a key to popularity.
TRANSITS AND PROGRESSIONS 1998 and 2014
![]() |
Click for larger picture |
The transits and progressions at the time of the serious quad bike accident of 1998 were rather clear about injuries. See transit Saturn square Mars (dead end) and transit Chiron inconjunct P IC on that day. Transit Mars (not visible in the picture) was conjunct Progressed Sun.
![]() |
Click for larger picture |
There are only a few transits and progressions on the day of his death
1. Transit Saturn semi square Ascendant for a frustrating delay or end.
2. Transit Mars inconjunct progressed Sun (Mars was in the 12d of Libra that day) for an attack with a loss or imbalance involved.
3. Transit Uranus semi sextile natal Sun (a shock or surprise)
That is a trio for an unexpected dead end (but not always!).
(The progressed Sun had already been perfecting a sesquisquare with Saturn 4 months earlier).
Just like on the day of the accident there was a transit of Mars with Progressed Sun. In 1998 - accident - it was a conjunction. In 2014 - when he died - it was an inconjunction.
*)
The pattern consists of aspects between Moon, Venus, Neptune and Midheaven, often related to the signs Taurus, Cancer, Libra and Pisces, More examples of artistic talent on Art&Astrology.

Percy Fernandez inconjunct Mars
Mars is the symbol of sexuality, male action, drives and aggression. Mars hurts, violates and cuts. Mars also grabs. Mars takes his chances. With Progressed Sun inconjunct Mars the mayor of Santa Cruz (Bolivia) grabbed the tight of a married woman, a journalist, on television (see YouTube). Wrong move!
It was not for the first time that he went too far. Before, he kissed a woman, obviously against her will, but those were other days. Now he had to apologize, but that may not be enough for the man who was chosen for the 5th time to be an authority. He is very popular, apparently. But he has political enemies, too.
Day of birth is February 14, 1939. He is 75 now, maybe it is time to retire. Giving up on something with a quincunx is not uncommon, even not for people with a 'calling' Saturn (Saturn NA in sign, orb max 5 d). When Saturn calls, who can resist duty, status and the urge to manage?
WHY did he do it? Maybe because he can or thought that he could... Men with power do this all over the world and all through history. Boris Jeltsin did it, too. He had Venus 'calling'. (Who can resist a 'calling' Venus?:)
This is the chart of the day of birth of Fernandez with transits and progressions. If you want a better picture, click it!
Fernandez has Moon conjunct Venus, rising before the Sun. Women and his need for them and for appreciation and love, come first. He also has Mars square Jupiter, tightly, so let's say: overdrive. And isn't it funny that he was born on Valentine's day?
More observations: Sun = Neptune/Pluto, Venus/Mars square Neptune*).
Anyway, now his progressed Sun is inconjunct Mars. I tweeted about transit Mars inconjunct Sun a few days ago and said:
#Taurus born April 30 might be too fast and furious today (Mars inconjunct their Sun). Take care!
I should have warned Percy Fernandez, too:)

Getting hurt with transit Mars (and Uranus)
My Mars is exactly inconjunct my mother's Midheaven, so that we both had a transit Mars experience today.
1. Mars inconjunct Mars
I had transit Mars inconjunct natal Mars resulting in a complete energy drain. I slept about 10 hours, only interrupted by half an hour in the middle of the night. An inconjunct brings you out of balance. I was... Mars inconjunct Mars: loss of energy, not productive actions
2. Mars trine Midheaven
My almost 84 year old mother had transit Mars exactly trine Midheaven and transit Uranus quindecile Midheaven, too, today. This was a great opportunity (trine) to show what she could do (Mars), all by herself, without any help (Uranus). So she wanted to fetch her mobile phone (that she can hardly use) and fell very hard, again. Now her left arm has a big bubble and she has medication for the pain. Mars-Uranus for an incident and sudden pain.
Fortunately, she didn't break anything, this time. After August 31, 2012, when transit Saturn on her Midheaven (see that post named 'Saturn and hitting the floor') and she broke her hipbone in two places, she hasn't been able to walk without help any more. Another fracture and more surgery will be the end.
Mars trine MC: demonstrating that you can (but what if you can't?)
Uranus quindecile MC: strong focus on independent status or being determined to take a risk?
Falling isn't funny. But here is a link to YouTube about funny old ladies falling down (hopefully without injuries): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWrWF2Ft3wE

The MC inconjunct aspect
Inconjunctions with the MC (Midheaven) have a special effect on the status, the condition, the career or the 'name and fame'. Although this doesn't HAVE to be in a disruptive way, the lack of balance creates a certain danger.
The inconjunct of Progressed Midheaven mirrors an unbalancing development in the career or in the position in the world.
When it is an inconjunct by transit, the inconjunct shows what happened to influence the position in the world.
I have a number of examples of this in Astropost.blogspot.com (see the links in the article on Astromarkt.net) illustrating the reflection of inconjuncts with MC. Of course all these examples are strictly related to the individual of the example. Here I like to mention some more personal experiences.
a. I had the inconjunct with Progressed Midheaven and Pluto in a very stressed situation.
b. I had the inconjunct with Progressed Midheaven and Uranus in 2003. Two exciting things happened. I had a disturbing nightly anonymous nasty phone call of a stranger who apparently had access to my medical files. And I considered starting a website, but (…inconjunct) I didn't know how.
c. Later my brother offered to help me with the implementation of the very first pages of the first version of my site Astromarkt.net and gave me a date for it 6 weeks before the start with Progressed MC inconjunct Uranus, soon after T Uranus conjunct Jupiter and T Saturn inconjunct my Progressed Midheaven. As a naive starter I forgot not to use my name. Loss of status was included!:) (In my country they don't take you seriously anymore when you 'believe' in astrology)
d. On May 17, 2013, Mars was inconjunct my Sun and Midheaven. It was the day after my arrival in Rhodes and I slept almost all of that day (still recovering of flu and with heavy pain in my back). Inconjunct Mars is an energy drain.

Mars-Uranus-Pluto resonating crisis
![]() |
Chart of the moment that I wrote this, by Astro.com |
Here is the chart of the day of birth of the European politician who had to deal with the monetary crisis in Cyprus, Dijsselbloem. He is young, he is fast and they accuse him of being furious and saying that the European way to handle the bank crisis in Cyprus is a template for future crisis in other countries. He says he never said that.
You can see by the chart that there IS a crisis in his life. You can also see that there is a sort of a preposition for fast handling and wanting to make intense changes at once. It is the Mars-Uranus-Pluto combination!
He was born with Uranus conjunct Pluto and inconjunct Mars. Uranus hits his natal Sun. And today there is a combination of Uranus-Pluto and Mars, too. These transits sound the same as in his birth chart. It is as if the bell tolls for him. Mars-Uranus-Pluto is resonating the natal position. This is HIS moment of crisis, too.
Is that just coincidence?

Saturn-Neptune and less posts
The last time that I was blogging here was on October 6. There is a reason for not blogging for so long. I posted my blog, closed the laptop and only a few minutes later I experienced the effect of transit Saturn conjunct Neptune in Libra and opposition progressed AC/MC. This transit had been exact a few hours before and it was just a few weeks after transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Mars). Can you imagine what happened? I will tell you about it.
What happened was this: the world suddenly seemed to have turned into a carousel, a speedy one, with me inside. I was very lucky to be at home and not in my car*), because I was very very sick within seconds. A sort of an intense sea sickness followed in the next hours. It is (I hope) a virus. There is no cure, it simply has to go away, slowly.
Since then, October 6, I haven't been able to use the computer for more than just a few minutes. The 'punishment' is getting dizzy and sick. So, I will have what I should have when Saturn hits Neptune:...involuntary detachment until I am completely OK again. CU!
PS I have been a great example for astrology now. All books warn us to see the doctor with such transits. I saw them! When you have such aspects: take care!
*) (yeah, Jupiter transit sesquisquare Sun, too...and Jupiter conjunct Ascendant in the natal chart, a lucky bird, LOL:).

Mars, Eris and the chart of King Harald V
1. MARS INCONJUNCT MARS
'Dreadfully cut up by it' is the translation of a Dutch word ' aangeslagen' a variety of 'aanslag' = attack. I see Mars inconjunct Mars in the chart of the Norwegian King Harald V today and tomorrow. He has been taken to a safe place, out of the palace in Oslo. When Mars hits your natal or progressed Mars there is always the risk to get hurt. If it is not your body, it is your mind...
2. ERIS INCONJUNCT MARS
There is a second indication for the events of today: Transit Eris is inconjunct Mars. Mars-Eris is the combination of an act of war (see the chart of Pearl Harbor). Mars is the symbol of aggression. Eris is the symbol of discord. When they join forces, there is aggressive discord.

3. MARS SQUARE SATURN
Mars square Saturn is an attack on the status quo and a sometimes deadly combination. In the king's natal chart Mars is exactly trine Saturn. That means that he is a disciplined person, seriously doing his duty and acting with caution.
