Today Swedish Princess Madeleine is getting married and I just HAVE to write about it, because it seems as if she used astrology to set the date. First she announced her engagement with Transit Juno on her progressed Ascendant. And look at her chart, transits and progressions now:
1. Transit Uranus in the 5th house is trine her progressed Ascendant (excitement, change of name and/or situation, new perspective)
2. Transit Uranus in the 5th house is conjunct her natal Sun/Moon midpoint (new motivations, children?)
3. Progressed Midheaven is sextile Neptune (romance?)
4. Progressed Sun trine progressed Moon (a traditional marriage combination)
5. Transit Saturn sextile Juno (confirmation of marriage?)
6. Transit Jupiter in the progressed 7th house is trine progressed Midheaven (happy conditions)
7. Last but not least: progressed Venus ruler 7 is conjunct natal Sun within a few weeks! Translated it is about the love of or in your life, starting a live with a loved one!
Now isn't that nice? For the synastry, see: http://astrology-love-romance.blogspot.nl/2013/06/famous-couple-synastry-princess.html
Here is the chart of Madeleine:
PS
(added on June 9)
Transit Pholus is opposition her Sun and inconjunct her progressed Sun. This is reflecting a turning point in life with a loss or having to give up on something, involved.

Divorce in the chart
As charts are to be seen in the context of history, genes, gender, social position and culture there is no world wide guide line for marriage or divorce. A chart mirrors what is below. ('So above, so below' is also 'So below, so above').
Astrologer Ram found a pattern in the charts of divorced persons and in the charts of those who never get married at all. That was in the first half of the 20th century, so that we need to see the pattern in the context of history. It was exceptional to divorce in those days.
Today, it is much easier to divorce and (at least in Western Europe) nobody cares if you marry or not (and still live together as one). So things have changed. Also, the rich and those who live in the world of 'stars' find it less easy to stay married and easier to divorce. That is why they don't need that much of the found indications as in those days.
The indications
For men and women it is not good for long lasting marriages to have conflicts between the Ascendant and Descendant (the first and seventh house. So when there is a conflict between ruler 1 and ruler 7 or positions in the 1st and 7th house, there is problem in living together as one couple.
Difficult hard aspects for men are:
- Moon in conflict with Saturn
- Moon in conflict with Neptune
- Venus in conflict with Neptune
- Mars in conflict with Uranus
Difficult hard aspects for women are:
- Sun in conflict with Mars
- Sun in conflict with Uranus
- Venus in conflict with Uranus
- Mars in conflict with Saturn
More of those afflictions increase the possibility of separations. With 2 or more of those indications it is harder to stay with the first marriage partner or… it is harder to get married at all. Almost every time that I write about divorce, here or on Astrology&Love, I mention these findings.*)
AND...
Venus in Aries and Mars in Libra aren't stimulating relationships, I noticed. Venus is the mundane ruler of Libra and the 7th house. Mars is the ruler of the 1st house and of Aries. When they are in each other's sign, that is a weak placement for relationships.
LINKS
1. In 'How long will this love be going on?' I mention the power of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) in holding on to what they 'got', so that it takes them longer to decide that separation is the best. (http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/03/how-long-will-this-love-be-going-on.html ) But it is never the other way around. Barbara Streisand has many placements in fixed signs and she divorced.
2. In 'Multiple marriages, double bodied signs and Jupiter in 7' there are examples of divorce related to the 7th house cusp and Venus in the movable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces).
a. Barbara Streisand 'had enough' on Mars semi sextile Saturn and ruler 7 Venus in Pisces, quintile Uranus. But she is star.
b. Zsa Zsa Gabor (6 February 1915, 20:08 CET Budapest) married 8 times. Her chart has Venus in Capricorn square Aries Point, but she has Pisces on the cusp of the 7th house and the ruler of Pisces (Neptune) is 'calling', biquintile Mercury ruler 1. Picture it: ruler 1 Mercury biquintile the 'calling' Neptune ruler 7 for a creative (biquintile) way to relate at any kind of level...
So there are also creative and 'easy' aspects pointing at divorce.

3. Danny de Vito was talking about divorce. There were very few indications for divorce in the natal chart, but it is harder for a rich man:)

Here are some examples of following 'the rules' of Ram:
I. In 'Divorce and the charts of women' you see the pattern in the charts of Caroline and Stephanie of Monaco
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/07/divorce-in-charts-of-women.html
II. Elvis and Priscilla Presley divorced. Elvis had Venus sesquisquare Neptune and Mars-Uranus biquintile.
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2009/03/famous-couple-elvis-and-priscilla.html
III. Roger Vadim and Brigitte Bardot had 'the indications' as you may see in this post on Astrology&Love that I quote here:
" Vadim married more than once. Moon square Saturn and Mars square Uranus are two of the indications for divorce in a man’s chart. Bardot has Mars opposition Saturn and a double bodied sign on the seventh house cusp to illustrate the risk of divorce or separation. She married three times. She is now still married with number three, a right conservative politician."
Use this search label 'divorce to find that story and more on Astrology&Love: http://astrology-love-romance.blogspot.nl/search/label/divorce
IV. More personal example: a family member (female) with Sun and Venus square Uranus and ruler 1 in conflict with ruler 7. She married and divorced twice.
V. Princess Anne of England married twice. Her natal charts has 3 out of the 4 indications for divorce for women*) and a conflict between the rulers of the 1st and 7th house. That is enough for at least one divorce.
VI. Princess Irene has all of the four aspect combinations of possible divorce in her chart, but only 2 of them are difficult (the square and the quindecile):
As I said, it is the context (the culture) that 'does it'. It is also the character that does it. Sometimes there is a 'happy divorce'. Sometimes circumstances change very much and it is the progressed chart that contains the indications for separation or divorce. People are individuals (most of them:). Yet, maybe sometimes, the natal chart is involved:).
*) PS I find it interesting that the conflicts between Moon, Venus and Neptune are also found in the pattern of artistic talents… (see Art&Astrology).

Saturn in Libra
This year and next year (till October 5, 2012) Saturn is in Libra and that means that for whoever is born with Saturn in Libra it will be hard to decide anything. But also for others, because Saturn is serious company. So: time for tossing and turning, throwing coins, asking oracles and horaries...
SATURN, LIBRA AND 7th HOUSE
With Saturn in Libra in the 7th house the field of the hard choice is relationships. For someone with Saturn in Libra in the 7th it will not only be very hard to be sure if the partner is the really really one and only Mr. or Mrs. Right. He or she might have to make a difficult choice one day, a go or no go, or a stay or leave. And most often the sense of duty, or parenthood, will keep them in their position. Saturn in Libra will eventually find a balance, but until then it might be hard to weigh it all.
A good exemple of someone who didn’t seem to hurry to officially get married, is Prince Albert of Monaco. He already has children with two women and a fiancĂ©e and he married in 2011, age 58! He has Saturn in the 7th house (but not in Libra). Of course, you have to be cautious who to marry when this woman will be the mother of the next Prince...

In some parts of Europe people use NOT to get married these days, even if there are children. They don’t get married because they feel they don’t need an official license (and they don’t, as there are other ways to make financial commitments). Maybe it is also because of the fact that the church has less and less influence in the last decades of the Age of Pisces. In Denmark 60% of the children are born out of wetlock. Parenthood and marriage has split. Fathers and mothers call each other their ‘ friends’. Two generations ago they called each other ‘ mother’ and ‘father’, sometimes even when the children weren’t around! The roles of the individuals in a relationship changed. They are no longer parents, they are partners. That is what started with the Pluto in Libra generation, at least: that is when the crowd followed the pioneers. Read about it here:
But, when you are the King-to-be, you should get married, even or especially with Saturn in Libra, the symbol of the contract in the marriage, the duties, obligations and responsibilities for a partner and the endurance of relationships, ' in sickness and in health'. That is why it is so hard then to select the right one.

Chart of Rupert Murdoch:
Rupert Murdoch is a media tycoon. The scandall with one of his papers, News of the World, is indeed news in the world, today. Uranus-Pluto-Midheaven resonates the revolution in his career. (Transit Uranus is trine Progressed Midheaven. Pluto is sesquisquare MC in his progressed chart.)
Uranus and Pluto together with MC are always causing intense nervous problems because of the dramatic change that often accompanies the combinations of Uranus and Pluto.
Now we have a sudden (Uranus) dramatic (Pluto) turn (Pholus) in his career (Midheaven) and 3 indications of change and tension, because: there is also Pluto with Pholus. Quoting Astromarkt:
"Pholus+Pluto: dramatic turning point: the prize (or the price to pay) forcing a turning point (?), the pyrrhic victory"
Interesting coincidence is, that the Pholus of News of the World (first published October 1, 1843) is in the 6th degree of Capricorn, just like the Pholus of Murdoch, so that both Murdoch and the newspaper have Pluto conjunct Pholus.
ASTRO ID
Here is the chart of birth with transits and progressions:
The chart has a few marking points: Mercury (communications), Venus, Neptune (both 'calling' for sense of art and sensitivity at any possible level), Pholus, Quaoar and Vesta (the importance of extraordinary qualities), with Saturn - parents, ambition, management - orient(ation)al: the importance of status, parents and being serious. Venus in the second house of earning money could mean a comfortable financial position and/or the love of earning money.
Here is the progressed chart with transits. I like to point at Uranus rising before the Sun here. Uranus means news, change, upheaval and technology. But Uranus rising before the Sun is also frequent in the charts of very old (and still active) persons. They are exceptional, like Murdoch is.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
Jupiter, the multiplier, is in the 7th house of marriage and yes: he married more than once.
Uranus is inconjunct Midheaven in the natal chart: that is for a lot of upheaval with a loss involved...(News related to the career in a disproportional way). The fact that transit Uranus is now trine Progressed Midheaven illustrates that combinations in the natal chart that are being repeated by transits or progressions are very important. The news with a loss involved is now.

Divorce in the charts of women
The Grimaldi sisters (the daughters of Princess Gracia of Monaco) aren't happily married right now and separated/divorced before. They are not very lucky in selecting partners, up to now. They were born with in their charts many, if not all of, the indications of possible divorce for women.
Afflictions between Sun and Mars, Sun and Uranus, Venus and Uranus and affliction between Mars and Saturn are the specific indications for divorce or an ended marriage in the chart of women. Men's charts with afflictions between Maan-Saturn, Moon-Neptune, Venus-Neptune and Mars-Uranus are more often the charts of divorced men. In general the position of Venus in Aries and Mars in Libra, and hard aspects between (the rulers of) the first and seventh house resonate difficulties in marriage and relationships. There are many examples on the blog Astrology&Love. This blog is about the Princesses Caroline and Stephanie and divorce in their charts.
CAROLINE
When she was born the chart of Princess Caroline of Monaco had all the indications of difficulties in marriage and relationships that women can have:
1. Sun afflicting Uranus
2. Mars sesquisquare Saturn
3. Venus 157.5 Uranus (that is a sesquisquare + a half semisquare)
4. Jupiter is in Libra and in the 7th house (multiplying the number of marriages)
(5. Sun is (wide) square Mars. This aspect is out of sign.)
Caroline Grimaldi first divorced. Her second husband died in a car crash. She is now living separated from her third husband. Here is her chart.
Her sister Stephanie married twice and divorced twice. Her third child has an unnamed father. In her chart we see 3 of the indications for women and an affliction between the rulers of the first and the seventh house. She has Saturn in the 7th house instead of Jupiter. There is a quintile between Saturn and Jupiter, illustrating a creative way to deal with hierarchy.
Sun sesquisquare Mars
Sun inconjunct Uranus (orb 1.35)
so also: Ruler 1 inconjunct ruler 7
Mars 157,5 (135+22.5) Saturn
Saturn in the 7th house, without major aspects (!calling!)
Quoting my article about sharing aspects:
Sun and Uranus shared in aspect might indicate joined rebellion. How long this will last in a proper family home in a suburb, especially when the aspect is hard? But in a group of inventive people or in a place where news items are made you certainly can go for ‘sensation’ together. This relationship could have an unusual start. But too much tension could lead to stress, even if the surprises are nice. Both being independent and willing to be free it will be hard to stay together as a couple. With harmonious aspects this tendency for doing things the way you want it, will be tempered.
There was a period when Stephanie was not allowed to see her family.

The bankruptcy in the chart of Patricia Kluge-Rose
Patricia Kluge divorced John Kluge 20 years ago and
had a lot of money, but now she filed for bankruptcy. Millions (and some say
billions) have gone...What does the chart say?
I won’t start with the transits
of Pholus and Saturn (nasty turning point). I start where it starts: with the
natal chart. And with her marriage
with John Kluge. That is when her lifestyle changed in a dramatic way. Here is
her chart with the transits for now:
LIFE AND MARRIAGE
Her name was Patricia Rose and she was a pauper
before she was a belly dancer and porn star. Then she met a rich man who fell
in love with her. Her 'Midas' was John Kluge. He was married and she had a
relationship, too, when they met.
I like to point at Pholus in the 7th
house of marriage. Her marriage (7th house) was a turning point in
life (Pholus)! John Kluge turned her life into gold in a fairy tale marriage - in the eyes of the public - (Venus/Neptune square Jupiter). And when he died, the
economic crises was repainting her life again…Both times Pluto was there! Continue for the synastrie with John Kluge, the repeating pattern of Pluto and Orcus and the list of indications for bad financial times.

Prince Albert (really? really!:) getting married

Just like the last time (in 2008) there are strange transits and progressions accompanying the announcement of a future wedding of Prince Albert II of Monaco and his long time friend Charlene Wittstock. For example:
Venus has recently changed sign to Aries and is now receiving a conjunction from the planet of surprise: Uranus en close to an inconjunction with Pluto. Sounds like an impulse…
Transit Uranus is also inconjunct the ruler of the 7th house (Jupiter). That sounds like ‘ a relief and positive change, however, but….’ There might be considerations.
Last but not least: Progressed Ascendant is exactly square Neptune and transit Pluto is inconjunct the progressed Descendant. This combination is very mysterious…
There is one happy progression: progressed Venus at Zero Aries is in aspect with Jupiter, but…it is an inconjunction. So there is a party, but it might be a bit overdone?
JUNO
Albert is one of the most desirable ‘royal bachelors’ . Maybe that is why Juno, the symbol of marriage, is conjunct his Ascendant. It didn’t help him to get married, but he has two children with two former lovers. He has acknowledges that he is the father of these children, but they will not the next Prince or Princess of Monaco.
SATURN ON DESCENDANT
His Saturn in the 7th house, on the Descendant seems to be the living proof of the astrological idea of restrictions, barriers and AGE related to marriage. Moreover: his Venus is semi square Saturn!
Recently I posted on Astrology&Love about Saturn's role in a post named
A little married and more...Saturn and Pluto in Libra' re: the book about the trend not to marry (but live together). The effect of Saturn in Libra and Saturn in the 7th are often similar (when related to the 7th house or Venus).
MATCH?
Will Charlene Wittstock be the final partner? Let us see how the match is. I wrote about them before:
http://astropost.blogspot.com/2008/09/astrology-chart-of-prince-albert-of.html
There is a strong Sun-Neptune connection between them.
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Happy and pleasant wedding parties benefit from a Venus-Jupiter aspect by transit or progression. Venus-Jupiter is one of the most pleasant combinations of planets, because it multiplies (Jupiter) fun (Venus) and joy (Venus). Even in bad times, Venus-Jupiter helps because you feel the love and support of many. As you can see on the right, Jupiter is today in the 2nd degree of Aries. People with Venus there, or in any other 2nd degree might enjoy this transit. Venus is now (June 23, 2010) in the 11th degree of Leo.
Click the label ' Venus Jupiter' to see some eamples of the effect of Venus-Jupiter.

Famous couple: John & Jacqueline Kennedy

The marriage of Jacqueline Bouvier and John F. Kennedy ended with the death of JFK. This post is about the astrological relationship of the charts of this famous couple.
Jacqueline Bouvier was born with Venus and Jupiter in Gemini. Jupiter was in the seventh house of marriage. She married twice. In an earlier post about double bodied signs and Jupiter in the 7th you will find more examples of people who married more than once. They also had Jupiter in the 7th and/or Venus in a double bodied sign. Jacqueline Bouvier has a chart that tells us that there is a great possibility of marrying more than once. And the marriage with John F. Kennedy was her first marriage...
Apart from a wide quintile of Venus with Uranus, there are no indications for divorce.
I wrote about Jacqueline and John Kennedy before:
"Think of Jacqueline Kennedy. She married John F. Kennedy when she was 24 and that is not extremely young. When he died, she married an older man (Onassis). Her Venus is in Gemini and opposition Saturn. Jupiter is in her 7th house. There are two indications for marrying more than once (Venus in Gemini and Jupiter in the 7th). The usual indications for divorce are not found*).
We see Venus (ruler 7) in the 8th house and in the 22nd degree. The 22nd degree has a bad name in astrology (see for example the site Astrology in Serbia) and Astrology.com has a site to release stress coming from the 22nd degree.
(...)"
JOHN F. KENNEDY
John F. Kennedy has a chart that shows the leader.
1. The Sun does not make Ptolemaic aspects and is square ASC/MC. He was the crucial centre of attention at any possible level. More about his Astro I.D.:
2. Neptune and Pluto do not make major aspects either (for idealism and politics, discretion and ‘the silent force')
3. Saturn on top is conjunct Sun/Moon (government, management, ambition, ...possible divorce)
Indications for the way that he ended his young life are:
1. The 8th house with Sun, Venus, Jupiter (importance of danger, challenge and power)
2. Mars inconjunct Ascendant (disproportional acts or aggression)
3. Uranus inconjunct MC (unbalanced sudden changing status)
4. Saturn, ruler 4, conjunct MC (public end)
5. Saturn semi square Mars/Pluto (possible unnatural death)
6. Vulcanus semi square Mars/Pluto (possible public use of power and force)
And yes, just being a president is dangerous, too.
John F. Kennedy married only once but he had several 'relationships' while married. It is said that he hired a dozen of prostitutes once and a while. Moon square Venus in double bodied signs reflects the need for women. And Jupiter is in his 8th house (of sex) and not in the 7th (of marriage). Had he still lived and stopped being a president, he would likely have had a divorce. There are two out of four indications for a divorce: Mars is square Uranus, Venus is semi square Neptune.".
But of course, he married her, and why?
1. He shared a Mars-Pluto aspect with Jacqueline (he has the semi square, she has the sextile). His Mars is sextile her Pluto! His Mars is inconjunct his Ascendant and opposition hers. (It crosses my mind that this looks a lot like the Mars-Pluto relationship in the Holloway case, click to see that post.)
2. His Moon is exactly trine her Northern Node (for emotional relationship, taking care together)
3. in the composite chart there is Sun conjunct Moon, a strong indication for creating a family life
4. His Venus -ruler 1 - is conjunct her Sun/Moon and that is a fine end of this story. Sun/Moon is family life, heart and soul. And Venus is sympathy and love. So at a particular moment in time his love was joining her wish to have a family life.
PS Read in the post about the chart of JFK:
"Kennedy died. He was murdered in the year that his wife Jackie lost her baby Patrick in August 1963. She went to Greece to shop and cruise and met Onassis. General de Gaulle once accused Aristoteles Onassis of being the man behind the murder of Kennedy. And it is indeed strange to see that the midpoint Mars/Saturn (=death) of Onassis (born January 15 1906) is tightly conjunct the Sun of Kennedy. And even stranger that the Pluto of Onassis is tightly conjunct the progressed Mars of Kennedy on the very day of the murder! Coincidence? It might just be so... "

*) The aspects for no or more than 1 marriage in a woman's chart are:
- Sun afflicting or conjunct Mars or Uranus,
- Venus afflicting or conjunct Uranus and/or
- Mars afflicting or conjunct Saturn
- and/or afflictions between the 1st and 7th house
When there 3 or more of such indications, the woman might prefer to remain single.
In a male's chart the indications are:
- Moon in conflict with Saturn
- Moon in conflict with Neptune
- Venus in conflict with Neptune
- Mars in conflict with Uranus
- and/or afflictions between the 1st and 7th house
