When your (progressed) chart met your partner's...

When you met your partner, did your progressed charts connect with each other or with the partner's natal chart? It is often so. When I met my husband, his progressed Saturn*) was exactly conjunct my natal Descendant (and that is how we got stuck together:). Also, my progressed Mars was trine his natal Sun. There is a time for everything, and maybe there is a time for meeting each other, too...
This month March the interaction between two charts will be in the spotlights here. And just like in a love story I start with 'meeting each other'.
" People meet or get to know each other at the moment that they share the same kind of situation or period in their life. Both partners are at the same time searching for hapiness or are sharing a good or bad moment and that 'connects' them. At least, you would think so when you see their progressed charts! The moment of meeting a person seems to be connected to the moment that your were born. That is what the astrology of meeting is about: to see the right time for loving."
I wrote that on Astromarkt, in: The Astrology of Meeting People and of course you find examples there, about all kinds of relationships and meetings.

Here is another one about love: the meeting of King Harald of Norway and his wife Sonja.
When King Harald V met his wife Sonja, his progressed Sun was conjunct Saturn, ruler 7. Her progressed Venus was inconjunct his Mars. His progressed Mars was trine his progressed Sun and Saturn and his progressed Venus was square her progressed Sun. A rather complicated picture, but it shows controlled passion and a period of strong love.

Of course, in order to meet somebody, you must be prepared to meet somebody, or you just don't notice the man or woman. And vice versa! It hurts when you fall in love and the other doesn't.  Take for example the first time that Prince Charles and Camilla met and he didn't notice her. Quote:

In June 1971, during a polo match, Camilla and Charles met for the first time. She had progressed Venus conjunct natal Saturn and semi square progressed Uranus. He had no special progressions at all. Her progressed ascendant is at the time of the meeting exactly sesqui square his progressed Jupiter. This all means that she had a bad period for love and was limited in her choices, but that she had met a chance for being happy (Jupiter), too soon (sesquisquare).

Sometimes, people meet without starting a relationship, yet. A semi square with Venus describes a senseless love. Bernadette Brady refers to semi squares as a 'frustrating not'. Sesquisquares with Jupiter however are supposed to bring advantages in a later stade!

Apparently Charles and Camlla had to marry someone else, first. It is not only for the sort of aspectation that love was not answered at the time. Saturn and Uranus together refer to limitations of freedom and independency. Venus with Uranus often points at falling in love. Saturn is the planet of responsibilities, status and 'timing'. Shall we see this as 'untimy falling-in-love'?

And, if that is so, was all this 'ment to be' or just coincidence?

Minor aspects, major impact

More and more I see the impact of minor aspects. They refer to hidden capacities and qualities. Major aspects are easy to see, minor aspects need more calculating. It is the same thing with the reflection of those aspects. The major aspects reflect the visible character and talent; the minor aspects reflect what the others don't see at first sight. It takes examination.

Take for example the chart of O.J. Simpson. The major aspects in the chart show us what was easy to see: a capable actor, somebody with success. The minor aspects however refer to the anger, aggression and criminal behavior that were not known to the public until he supposedly killed his wife and her friend. He didn't look like a criminal, but now he is in jail. See the post about 'the chart behind his chart'...

The chart of Susan Boyle has a strong pattern of talent that is not represented by major aspects. Instead, we see Venus connected to Moon and Neptune with quindeciles. The quindecile shows a strong focus, a fanatic objective, an obsession even. There is a quintile between Sun and Saturn and a biquintile between Sun and Pluto to indicate the creative die hard*). This combination of talent and perseverance is part of the road to her success. She didn't look like being a successful artist, but she is. See the reading of her chart...

Josef Fritzl, the man who abused his daughter and hid her and their children in the cellar, could do what he did for years, because nobody suspected him. He has Sun biquintile Neptune and Venus biquintile Mars for creative passion and a creative fantasy. He also has Mars quindecile Uranus. This aspect might - in the most evil sense - indicate an obsession with controversial sex. Those qualities and obsessions enabled him to create a double life, acting as a common father and grandfather. See the posts about the Fritzl case...

Inconjunctions show us where we need to let go, or where we find little balance, or what we simply need to accept in order to continue our life. It takes time to become aware of the impact of an unhealthy situation or attitude. The inconjunction is not a Ptolemaic aspect, but a minor aspect. The effect of the inconjunction is strong, however. See the posts about inconjunctions.

Semi squares and sesquisquare are hard aspects and hardly 'minor'. Yet, they are not Ptolemaic aspects and listed as minor aspects. Their effect is on a longer term and not directly visible. Bernadette Brady explained the semi squares and sesqui squares in her book 'Predictive astrology'. She says that semi squares refer to a 'frustrating not'. Sesqui squares should bring advantages in a later state! A good example of the effect is in the article about meeting people (on Astromarkt). Camilla met Charles with progressed Venus conjunct Saturn and semi square Uranus (restricted freedom in love). Her progressed Ascendant was sesqui square his progressed Jupiter. The impact of the meeting was not yet visible (for the public eye).

To find the minor aspects in our charts we need to do more calculating. To find the hidden personality behind the daily mask we need to dive deeper into a personality. It takes longer to express the qualities represented by the minor aspects, but one day they surface or erupt.

*) The combination with Saturn and Pluto refers to the 'die hard'. See the article on Astromarkt.

Famous couple: Charles and Camilla

Today Prince Charles met the Pope with transit Jupiter square his Sun. That is a good sign for a trip abroad. And now that I mention him, let us see how he matches with Camilla.

CHARLES
Charles married Diana first. In his chart Venus conjunct Neptune shows the possible divorce. He has Sun/Moon in aspect with Saturn and that is a reflection of breaking up a family in our days (it means: a distant family life).

CAMILLA
Camilla married Mr. Parker first. In her chart Sun is semi sextile Uranus, a weak sign for a divorce. But Sun/Moon is 22.5 degrees from Saturn and from Uranus. Restricted and stirred up family life...

MATCH
I like the way that their charts match.
His Sun is trine hers (within 1.5 degrees)
Their Ascendants are close together, just like their MC's

They can easily join lifes, they share the same kind of approach and goals and as the Moons are in agreeable signs, they are able to live together. There are no conflicts, although the signs of Venus and Mars don't match. There is compensation for that: her Sun/Moon is square his prominent Venus. His love and sympathy have an effect on her family life and is what she wants most of all. How romantic.

Her Descendant is inconjunct his Saturn and that reveals some of the problems. Is "a disproportionate (inconjunct) delay (Saturn) of marriage (Descendant)" a good translation of the astrological message, perhaps?

The couple is also mentioned in the article about the moment of meeting the man or woman of your life...on Astromarkt.

I wrote in that article: "In June 1971, during a polo match, Camilla and Charles met for the first time. She had progressed Venus conjunct natal Saturn and semi square progressed Uranus. He had no special progressions at all. Her progressed ascendant is at the time exactly sesqui square his progressed Jupiter.

It is not only for the sort of aspectation that love was not answered at the time. Saturn and Uranus together refer to limitations of freedom and independency. Venus with Uranus often points at falling in love. Saturn is the planet of responsibilities, status and 'timing'. Shall we see this as 'untimely love'?"

Charles and Camilla both have Venus and Mars in aspect with each other and with Neptune and Pluto for mysterious or discrete passion. More about Charles and Camilla and Venus-Neptune, on this blog...
