When Ringo Starr became a Beatle...

When Ringo Starr became a Beatle, on August 16, 1962, what exactly did his chart 'say'? Here is the chart:

This was after a period of highlighted contacts (Progressed Sun-Mercury) and hard works and efforts (Mars-AC in progressed chart):

1. transit Jupiter sesquisquare midpoint Sun/Moon
2. transit Pluto sesquisquare Sun/Moon midpoint
! notice that Jupiter and Pluto (and Chiron, too) were in aspect with midpoint Sun/Moon. Jupiter/Pluto can bring success. Sun/Moon-Jupiter/Pluto shows very strong motivation and confidence (and therefore more chance of success).
3. transit Pholus inconjunct Sun (strong transit because Sun is opposite Pholus in the natal chart); this signals a turning point in life that got him (and his former life style) 'out of balance'
Three minor aspects showing the major impact of that day in 1962...

As the progressed Sun got closer and closer to midpoint Jupiter/Pluto (for success!) it was to be expected that joining the Beatles would bring him luck. As both progressed Sun with midpoint Jupiter/Pluto AND the midpoint Sun/Moon with transit Jupiter and Pluto were indications of confidence and success, the transit of Pholus could only mean a 'but...' when considering a successful change in life. Wikipedia quote:
He commented on the nature of his lifestyle after having achieved success with the Beatles: "I lived in nightclubs for three years. It used to be a non-stop party.

His pattern of talent doesn't exactly follow 'the rules' (see my blog Art&Astrology) but IS there. Venus conjunct MC and Midheaven biquintile Moon and square Neptune tells us that his career and position could be related to artistic talents. Progressed Venus was retrograde and that is how the opposition Venus-MC got exact in later life.

BTW the Pluto of John Lennon's day of birth is conjunct the Moon of Ringo Starr. That might indicate the strong influence that Lennon had...

Pholus and the point of no return in chart al-Assad

This is on the importance of Pholus in natal, transits and progressions of the chart of the day of birth of Bashar al-Assad. There is a suspicion that his army crossed a red line and used (uses still) chemical weapons against the population, regardless who.

His natal chart has Pluto on Sun/Uranus. Pluto and Uranus rose before the sun on his day of birth. Uranus and Pluto = revolt and radicalism. As Pluto is the first to rise, there is a spotlight on politics, strategy and power. It is also important who your friends are, when Pluto rises before the sun.

PHOLUS 3x
1. In an earlier post I mentioned the transit of Pholus semi square al-Assad's progressed Sun. That was when the revolt started and will be repeated once that transit Pholus stops retrograding and goes direct.

2. Now there is a specific turning point and transit Pholus is square natal Sun. This transit also happened before and will be repeated when Pholus goes direct.

3. It is good to know that in the natal chart the Sun is inconjunct Pholus.
That inconjunct with Pholus is a risky aspect (check the label). Pholus is the centaur who shot himself in the foot with a poisoned arrow.
The inconjunct is a symbol of lack of balance and loss. It seems that it's Pholus' time now, for al-Assad.

When transits or progressions repeat a natal aspect combination, those transits and progressions show that it is time for the theme of the aspect combination to see the light. It means that the transit or progression is very important. The Syrian president wasn't meant to be the leader of the nation when he was born. He was studying to be an eye doctor, but didn't finish this study. Circumstances turned him into a leader. It turned out this way...

 It is terrible that innocent and not political involved persons and children have to suffer. Often the charts of leaders (and coaches) tell us about the situation of the community depending on their decisions. Transit Jupiter is now sesquisquare Barack Obama's midheaven. In October, transit Uranus will be square Obama's Eris. Let us hope that it will not be followed by new discord. Here is his chart with transits and progressions for now:

Transit Pholus in Sagittarius

Pholus is an asteroid, a small object that pops up in a chart as the catalyst. Transit Pholus often reflects the small and insignificant but irrevocable  trigger point. But what starts as a tiny thing can grow out of proportions, like the sudden rise of an X-factory star. Susan Boyle, for example, has Pholus on MC. Her career certainly has a point of no return. Pholus moves through Sagittarius. What happens when transit Pholus is conjunct the natal sun in Sagittarius?  

TRANSIT PHOLUS ON SAGITTARIUS SUN
In a few days (just before Xmas 2012) transit Pholus will be conjunct my Sun in 19d53 Sagittarius for the first time and more hits will follow in 2013. I'll pay special attention to those days of transit Pholus. It might be that someone or something will silently and slowly start changing my life. Or that someone's death will. Or... maybe nothing happens. I'll let you know and I am curious about your experiences.

Many Sagittarians had transit Pholus on their Sun in the 18th (17-18) or 19th (18-19) degree last year.  If you are one of them, please share your thoughts.

A prominent Pholus is angular, square Ascendant or on Sun/Moon or AC/MC, or on the apex of a Yod or as the 3rd party in a midpoint yod (that is the position opposite a midpoint). Also, the transit will be noticed more if you have an aspect (minor or major) between Sun and Pholus.

August 4, 1944 (Anne Frank's arrest)

On August 4, 1944 Anne Frank was arrested. Some time ago I wrote about the chart of Anne Frank and about the transits and progressions of that day in 1944 (link). Here is what I found:

1. Progressed Ascendant trine Uranus

There is one ‘harmonious’ or ‘ soft’ transit on that day of P ascendant trine Uranus, the culminating planet in her chart. It could be interpreted as ‘an easy way to independence and freedom’ and in a way she was ‘ freed’ from the attic. 

2. Progressed IC inconjunct Quaoar

But, there is also P IC inconjunct Quaoar: an unbalancing new reality related to her home…The combination of Uranus and Quaoar with Midheaven suggests sudden new realities. There was unfortunately a bad sign...

3. Transit Saturn conjunct her Sun (and about to square Midheaven)

 Saturn is on her Sun and about to square Midheaven. Saturn is the symbol of endings. A period in her life ended and it started to end her life. 

4. Pholus quindecile Saturn and Sun (the sad turning point)

Pholus is in the 21st of Capricorn, quindecile Saturn and Sun. Pholus refers to turning points and an aspect of 165 degrees informs us about obsession or intense focus: on endings and separations. 

In a 'normal' society these aspects would have been difficult, too, but they would not have brought her to a concentration camp. Sudden new conditions (Uranus and Quaoar with the meridian) and the sad focus on the beginning of the final part of life (Pholus, Saturn and Sun) could also have been a sudden and sad separation in the family and no more. That is why you need to know where a person is (in what circumstances) before you read a chart or stick to generalities like facing restrictions (Sun-Saturn), facing a turning point (Sun-Pholus), lost of perspective (inconjunct Quaoar) and a swift new and amazing status (MC-Uranus). If you read that again, you may see that in her situation, those transits and progressions were dangerous.
