Old 2015 and new 2016

Slightly handicapped by a whiplash injury, perfectly in line with Saturn in Sagittarius (my sign) square my Ascendant, so in the hip region, I can hardly walk and have to use medication against the pain. Still I want to celebrate New Year and have a home made brunch. You can imagine that that will take some energy. It is why there are fewer posts on Astropost these days. Nevertheless, here is something about the chart of New Year.

New Year is not a particular astrological moment. It takes place after Midwinter (December 21) and before Astrological (and astronomical) New Year (March 21). It is, however, a special moment for almost all the world. We’ll see fire work, happy wishes and people coming together where people are free to say goodbye to 2015 and welcome 2016. Every place on earth has it’s own chart for that moment. It goes too far to read all those charts, even if you DO believe that New Year is the birth of 2016 and that the chart of that moment will last till 2017. I consider it to be the chart of party time. There is more to say about 2016. Like the fact that Saturn is in Sagittarius and those born between December 2 and 9 will notice most of all. Don’t worry. You won’t all be whiplashed, Sagittarians! It is a matter of more than 3 indications, remember? Last time when I had transit Saturn conjunct my Sun, I moved to another place. It just ended a period in my life.

On New Year’s Eve we also end a period in life. We look back and start all over with fresh energy. Some worry about Mercury retrograde in January, but I don’t. I recently got a parcel delivered 4 weeks too late and it wasn’t even Mercury retrograde yet. Some will say that it was because of Pre-retrograde, but I think 7 weeks is too much PRE for an order. Look at your own chart (natal, transits and progressions and solar return) to get an idea about the future, but not without knowing that time changes and so do circumstances. Twenty years ago I wouldn’t have imagined what is happening today. Though I could have found some indications about pain in December 2015!:) With the same certainty I see the still active Uranus square Pluto in 2016 as a signal for continuing complications in politics, requiring strong nerves.

When it is 12 o'clock tonight, we all hope that 2016 will be better than 2015, for us and for our family and friends. With the Moon conjunct Jupiter and Node we have the support from above to make it a nice and happy start of 2016. I wish you a happy end and a good beginning!
This is the chart of New Year for Greenwich.

Chart Johan Cruyff today

On Astropost you can find the reading of the chart of Johan Cruyff: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/04/65th-birthday-johan-cruijff.html that I published when he became 65. Today there is a less pleasant message about him. He is seriously ill (lung cancer, they say). In the chart with progressions and transits you see a number of aspects, but I want a point at one of them, because this aspect relates to what is going on, strongly.

Transit Saturn, ruler of his 6th house of illness, is opposite the midpoint Sun/Moon in Gemini (the sign of the lungs). Here is the chart:
There is also the progressed Sun almost square Mars and semi square Ascendant, Progressed Ascendant inconjunct Midheaven and Pholus opposite progressed Venus in Gemini. Progressed Mars in Gemini had an opposition of Saturn earlier this month.

Schengen Agreement: the astrological situation

I wondered: how is chart of the day of the implementation of the Schengen Agreement (that provided free traffic in the countries of the European Union) today, now that the borders are getting closed following the enormous numbers of immigrants trying to reach Germany. Here you see the chart of March 26, 1995 with transits and progressions of yesterday:
Transit Saturn is on the Ascendant, Chiron is on IC and transit Pluto is square progressed MC, inconjunct progressed Descendant. In other words: trouble. Also, the progressed Sun and Moon are getting closer and closer to a square with Neptune. Such a square means confusion and sometimes decay. Saturn will be trine the natal Sun in November, maybe creating a more stabile situation, though the stress and  pressure continues (Pluto still square Progressed MC).

Isn't it amazing that Saturn is opposition MC, Pluto on the Ascendant and Chiron on MC when Schengen became effective? The 'corner stones' of the chart (Saturn, Pluto and Chiron) are in aspect with the angles again. Transits and progression with Saturn, Pluto or Chiron happen to be very important because they are important in the natal chart, especially Saturn, because Saturn also rises before the Sun. This all marks an important period in 'Schengen's life'. Usually they don't mean easy times.

Dilemma

Remember the post 'When one chart is up...' with the sub title 'How can you laugh, when you know I'm down'? It is here: : http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/05/when-one-chart-is-up-and-other-one-is.html

Now my chart will be up, when my dog's chart will be down, exactly in the summer of 2016, when I consider to make a trip to Eastern Europe. As it will be hot there and there will be many excursions to palaces and city centers, it will be better for the dog and us to leave the dog behind, in a pension with only Frenchies, in the hands of a nice lady. I could think of it as a sort of a vacation for the dog, but I know that while my chart has Jupiter-P Venus during the trip, hers has transit Saturn square Sun and Progressed Sun. And that is an uneasy thought. Especially since the latest example of Saturn with Sun and Progressed Sun was that of a well known singer in my country who ended in hospital on a Greek island, after being hit by a car, while walking on the street. So, maybe that explains my concern.

Usually there is some correspondence between charts of partners and if not, it is a sign of not being in line, at least. Imagine that they don't tell me how sad my dog is (just to keep me happy) and that I'd never know if I hadn't studied astrology... Or am I 'tripping' the bad way?

What would you do? The transits remain the same if I go or if I don't. Perhaps I'd better not? It is just a silly dilemma in turbulent times, I know...

PS the dog was born September 2, 2014 (time unknown)

By and large: Saturn in Sagittarius

Some days ago someone asked if I was a Gemini or a Virgo (because he thinks I spend too much time on details). Time  to show you that I am NOT and time for something that is more 'by and large'. Take for example Saturn moving from Scorpio to Sagittarius.
Soon all Sagittarians will have transit Saturn conjunct Sun. Last time I had that, I started selling my appartement because we moved to a larger house and from a place by the sea to the 'big city'. Saturn ends periods in life...and starts a new one sometimes. For my chart that will be in the first 6 months of 2017, so there is time enough to prepare. I won't move!
Of course 1 transit doesn't change it all and not all persons born on the same day will have the same kind of experience. Still, they will all have to deal with Saturn, the planet of management, business, all that is cool, hierarchy, responsibility, parents and parenthood, mortgages, guilt, failure and sometimes Saturn is just boring, by and large.
Saturn is in the final degrees of Scorpio now. Late September the astrological sign for Saturn will become Sagittarius. That might be the moment when Scorpios look back in gratitude because it is finally over and done:).
Of course there is not just Saturn up there...
Are you a Virgo, Taurus or Capricorn? Then you may have some fortune, because Jupiter will bring some optimisme and trust. Traveling, to study or expansion: it is Jupiter. And there is good news for Sagittarius: Mars will be in their sign to give some energy. They will have to share it with Aries and Leo, of course. And there is a sign that looses energy, too (Capricorn, Cancer).
Sorry that I didn't mention Gemini, Libra, Aquarius and Pisces, but I was supposed to see the big picture of Saturn in Sagittarius and I went along the sideway already! Next time!:)

Hulk Hogan: Saturn, Pluto and Pholus

Suppose that you are Hulk Hogan, a tough, strong and rich guy. Suppose that you have Mercury ‘calling’ and Mars, too. Mars is also rising before your Sun. That is the picture of the kind of guy who ‘calls’ and says things while working and fighting and fast…and all this at any kind of level, somehow, anyhow. Mercury and Mars prominent lead to discussions. There is a lot of discussion around Hulk Hogan today. People want him out after his racist 10 year old rant appeared on the internet. His name is no longer on the WWE Wall of Fame. Exit Hulk Hogan even not after saying sorry.

He said it. Now what does his chart say?

1.    Astrothème gives him Pluto conjunct Ascendant. That means that the present square of transit Pluto with his progressed Ascendant is twice as heavy as the usual Pluto (who is rather nice, with that big heart but also icy cold). Pluto means crisis, challenges and problems, often, just like Pluto means strength, power, influence and value. Pluto has two sides.

2.    Another painful point is transit Pholus sesquisquare his Mars (how about hurtfully shooting your own feet?).

3.    On top of this, transit Saturn square his midpoint Sun/Moon is depressing and demotivating.

4.    And there you have Pluto again: sesquisquare Sun/Moon to complicate things. You can’t have them all, but Hulk Hogan sure has a lot.

He was hit by Pluto, Saturn and Pholus at the same time: that is like a hard boomerang point of no return.

Here is the chart with transits and progressions. These bad transits wouldn't hurt anyone born at another time and place on that day, even though they also have Mercury and Mars 'calling'.

See the labels for more examples of Mercury ‘calling’ and opinions or remarks that cause trouble. And see http://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Hulk_Hogan for the data.

Sunny Saturn? Rarely (#Michael Glifford, #Sofia Hellqvist, #Princess Cristina)

Michael Glifford plays the guitar in the band '5 Seconds of Summer'. He got too close to fire works and burned his head (see the news ). Mars is the planet of fire. The incident happened on a day with transit Sun square his Mars, Mars square his Mars (too) and transit Chiron square Mars in a year of progressed Sun square Saturn. Those aren't the sunny kind of years. If you want to check it: Michael Glifford was born November 20, 1995 in Sydney.

There are few sunny Saturns.

That is why it doesn't look so good that the Saturn of Sofia Hellqvist is square the natal Sun of Prince Carl Philip, as it means that there are barriers and limitations and restrictions regarding their relationship. She became a Duchess when she married, yesterday. That was the day that Spanish princess Cristina was a Duchess-no-more. Her brother, the king, took her title from her with transit Saturn square progressed Mercury (symbol of brother). They are probably friends no longer... She has to face the judge again because she is suspected of fraud, together with her husband. That started with transit Saturn inconjunct her Midheaven (read it here: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/05/saturn-inconjunct-midheaven-and-lost.html ) which is the equivalent of falling off your pedestal, even though the inconjunct is considered a minor aspect (and some astrologers don't consider the aspect at all).

Back to Sofia Hellqvist and Saturn. There is a minor**) Sun-Saturn aspect in her chart (157.5 degrees), so that she fits in the list of royal spouses with Sun-Saturn aspects in an earlier post. Now she marries the man whose Sun is in hard aspect with her Saturn. She did it with progressed Sun conjunct Jupiter (success) and Venus sextile Neptune in the progressed chart (romance). Here is the chart of her husband with (in transit) the positions on the day of birth of Sofia.
I'm not planning a complete analysis of their synastry or their charts. It is just that Saturn-Sun aspect that caught my attention. Saturn has rings. It seems to have been hard to put the ring on Sofia's finger yesterday. Maybe that was just all:).

FIFA, the arrests, the election and astrology

FIFA is big news today (http://edition.cnn.com/2015/05/27/us/fifa-corruption-investigation-why/ )

A 'head in the sand', obstinate, busy loner with concealed fear, that is what FIFA would be if FIFA was a man. Fortunately, FIFA is an organization: Féderation Internationale de Football Association International. Many millions of dollars and important decisions are made in that organization. Today 8 officials, including 2 VPs, have been arrested on charges of corruption. This happens now that Transit Saturn keeps hitting the natal Sun in the first degree of Gemini. It is not over, yet...The Swiss government announced a second investigation. And Saturn will be back, too...
It may end a period in history for FIFA, but it will not be the end of FIFA. This Saturn transit happened before and FIFA survived it.

Of course, any international big organization risks fraud and corruption, especially when large amounts of money and prestige are involved.

This happens now that FIFIA President Sepp Blatter wants to be re-elected (it would be his 5th term) on Friday with transit Jupiter exactly square his Midheaven (and transit Pluto trine Midheaven). Jupiter+Pluto: that is a great combination when you want to win any contest. Transit Pluto is also trine his progressed Moon. I don't know what transits and progressions the other candidate has, but he 'd need a lot of fortunate aspects to conquer this. And...although Sepp Blatter is a Political Exposed Person (PEP) in Switzerland, were the 'raid' took place, and even though he is the 'CEO', he was not arrested. Whatever happens, Blatter seems to be immune (with the help of Sun square Jupiter and semi square Uranus perhaps).

If the accusations are true, the fact is that he was in charge all the time and in a way this 'communicative busy bee and pilar of strength' (color horoscope Astro.com agan:) is formally responsible and the organization as a whole is to blame. Criticism comes with Saturn. Saturn hits FIFA's and Saturn hits the natal Moon of Blatter, too (transit Saturn semi square Moon). One of the interesting aspects between the charts of Blatter and FIFA is Pluto of FIFA square the natal Sun of Sepp Blatter. FIFA influences his life and life style and FIFA causes stress, too. I bet that it does, right now! Saturn-Moon transits makes you feel bad. But for how long? Transit Uranus will be conjunct the important Jupiter of FIFA soon and this aspect is the symbol of relief.

Above is his chart with transits and progressions.

PS BBC news mentions that his tenure as president outlasted three marriages. It is a man of status and duty first (Saturn rising before the Sun), a true manager. He is now motivated with the drive to win always (Sun/Moon midpoint in hard aspect with Mars semi square Pluto in the progressed chart). Pluto doesn't make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees in the natal chart, so that power play, strategy, stress and authority is highlighted, just as the Mercury-Venus-Descendant position helps him communicate with diplomacy and kindness. And how about the Leo Ascendant? This gives him the attitude that it takes to be a President. There is more in that chart, of course (like Ixion in hard aspect with Sun/Moon), but the Astro ID says it all:
- Saturn rises before the Sun
- Mercury and Venus are angular
- Pluto is 'calling'
And then you get a communication strategy that fits a politician and a die-hard in love and relationships. Plus financial management.

Time will tell what happens next and if transits of Jupiter and Pluto help you win no matter what.

Resonance of Sun-Saturn: when Saturn comes back

Today there is a very old ex-Nazi on trial. His name is Oskar Groening. He was a sort of a bookkeeper in Auschwitz, where he counted the money in the pockets and bags of the victims and sent it to the SS-top. Astrologically, he is a good example of my theory that when the planets involved in natal aspects are making an aspect by transit or progression, these transits and progressions have a strong meaning, stronger than usual. They mirror important moments in life. I name that natal aspect being repeated: resonance. It is in the story of the train robber (see http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/08/resonance-and-odd-man-out-in-chart.html ), it is in the story of Britt McHenry (see links) and it this happens in Groenings' life/chart, too.

DATA
Born June 10, 1921 in Nienburg, Germany with natal Sun square Saturn
Transit Saturn on Sun and progrssed Sun in his Auschwitz days and later, fighting.
Now with Progressed Sun conjunct Saturn, and on trial

Saturn often mirrors a fault, guilt or blame, criticism and 'life is hard'. When you did something bad or wrong or when you made a mistake during Saturn Time, you might be confronted when it is Saturn Time again.
Gröning sort of confronted himself first by opening up on his past in answer to holocaust denial. Maybe it is, with Sun-Saturn, a matter of self respect, facing the facts of your own life. He doesn't think he is a criminal, still, but he worked with them. Many others did, too. Maybe they don't have a Sun-Saturn issue in the chart.

For more of such Sun-Saturn stories: see the links.

Britt McHenry was born on May 28, 1986 in Mount Holly NJ... Last week she had transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Sun, which symbolizes a good moment to fall off your pedestal. As in her natal chart the Sun is opposition Saturn, this transit worked harder than in the charts of other persons*). Saturn happens to have the meaning of 'to criticize and be criticized'...

You could see 'bad luck' in the fact that there was a video tape:).

Sad birthday for Bobby Brown

His daughter is in coma, with little chance to recover. No birthday celebration yesterday for father Bobby Brown. I wrote about his chart and life before ( http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2010/04/bobby-brown-lives.html ) so I will limit this post to the transit and progressions relatd to his sad situation. Look at transit Saturn ruler 1, opposite Progressed Moon in V (house of children), for example. This is a sign for sadness, in most cases.

Of course, Bobby Brown's chart has more indications at the same time, or else it wouldn't be that bad. Transit Pholus on pr MC, for example, refers to a turning point and transit Pluto near AC mirrors stress. There are benefics as well, coming from Saturn. Saturn ends, Saturn earns respect and Saturn is the symbol of parenthood, too. In short, the chart tells us about worries for others or because of others (Moon opposite Saturn) with stress and intensity around (Pluto-AC) at a turning point in family or social status (Pholus-MC). It is not so that the chart is predicting anything. The chart is just in line with the feelings right now.

Daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has Neptune in 8, just like her late mother Whitney Houston, who drowned in a bath. It seems that Bobbi couldn't live with the death of her mother. On February 2 I tweeted about her chart:

Saturn: dead ends and facing hardness

This week I noticed two examples of transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Sun and how different were they!

The first one was of a farmer who is in 'Farmer seeks wife' in my country. The people of his home town declared that they were ashamed because of his behavior towards the 3 women who are competing to become his one and only. He even got a nick name: Horny Geert (Geile Geert) and there is a little scary movie starring this man (see: http://www.luckymedia.nl/luckytv/2015/01/geile-geert/ ). In fact, he isn't that bad at all. He just faces hardness.
I wrote about his chart on Astromarkt (see: http://www.astromarkt.net/boer-zoekt-vrouw.html ) But, fortunately, the farmer lives in my country. He won't be punished, beaten or killed for kissing the ladies. It is so unlike what may happen when you live in the Middle East.

The second one was yesterday. Yesterday the world was confronted with another horrific criminal murder committed by ISIS. The cruelty and sadism of this crime made me cry. I know that we are in changing times of Uranus-Pluto and I know that Neptune in Pisces started ideological revolutions. But that doesn't change the sentiment: it felt as if they burned a neighbor's son. Muath al-Kasasbeh, a Jordan pilot in ISIS captivity,  was executed in the most cruel and painful way possible. CNN tries to explain why this might be a strategy. It seems that ISIS' supporters were asked how to kill the pilot and this might be the result of it. It is incomprehensible and goes against rule number 1 in the world: don't do to another what you wouldn't want for yourself. My transit Saturn opposition progressed Moon makes me feel very sad about what happens in the world today.

Does the chart explain why this happened to Muath now? Can a chart give us information on not natural deaths in times of war?

No. More persons were born that day. There is no hour of birth available, so that there is no information about Midheaven, Ascendant and Moon's degree. But, we know the transits and we know the progressions. but there is always a combination of indications for good or bad times. Even if we knew the hour of birth, we'd have to consider circumstances. Charts are not fate. They show us the nature of things and perspectives.

Unfortunately, the perspective of the Jordan pilot was colored by transit Saturn.

1. Transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Sun,
2.  Transit Saturn moving to a square with Mars and
3. Also progressed Sun inconjunct progressed Neptune (like in the natal chart's quincunx between Sun and Neptune).

Both Saturn and Neptune bring bad luck and sadness. Together they are the combination of involuntary detachment. Mars-Saturn is the aspect of discipline, heroes, death and all acts related to duty and discipline.  Saturn-Sun aspects often confront you with criticism (correct or not), mistakes and with endings.

It depends very much on where you are (and how old), in what condition, and in what episode of history how transits of Saturn will manifest. Your personal situation and position depends on the nations' situation. When the nation is at war, your hard transits and progressions feel and come harder (see the links below).

It is always better to avoid being in an act of war or in a situation that might harm you. It is even more urgent when you have hard transits and progressions.

Here is the chart of the day of birth with transits and progressions.
Click and open in new window for larger picture

They say that the murder was on January 3. ISIS published their horror movie on February 3, when the progressed Sun of the victim was exactly inconjunct transit Saturn. Transit Saturn will be exactly square Mars later. In the progressed chart, the natal Sun inconjunct Neptune got closer. It is an aspect that sometimes refers to heroes (see http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2009/05/heroes-angles-and-sun-inconjunct.html ) or should I say: martyrs?

I am grateful to live in a place where farmer's kisses lead to 'funny' movies. It is such a different movie than the one that was shown to the world yesterday...
