Astrology chart Michel Nostradamus

Michel Nostradamus was born December 14, 1503 in St. Remy Provence at noon. I wonder if that is true, but of course, it is possible. I will start reading his chart without taking the hour of birth into account. What you see is this:

1. Pluto is rising before the Sun (first of all: strategy or survival)
2. The tightest aspect is Moon trine Saturn (perseverence)
3. Sun is in Capricorn, Moon in Scorpio (the 'die hard')
4. Jupiter is opposition Sun/Neptune (a believing audience)
5. 50% of the positions is in water signs (going with the flow)

Using the hour of birth, there is also:
6. Sun on top (and square Aries Point) (leadership, show or 'performance')
7. Moon is sesquisquare Aries Point (an act)
8. Neptune is semi square Sun/Moon (arts, or religion)
9. The MC is between Neptune and Pluto (the paranormal field)

Maybe you noticed that Nostradamus was born December 14 and that his Sun is in Scorpio? The Julian calendar is the reason for the difference.

BTW: Nostradamus was wrong about having a French pope in the '90s of last century and he falsely predicted that a woman would be President in the USA (around 2000). (I very much doubt if he ever predicted THAT since their were no United States at the time that he lived). And I also wonder why he never predicted elevators, the growth of economy or the present financial crisis, or 09/11...
Even for Nostradamus predicting must have been difficult, especially when it was about the future. And the longer away that future was, less chance that people would have discovered that he was using his imagination about a future that he could not possibly see completely as he missed vital information about technical progress.

Pluto was conjunct his Midheaven one year ago and will soon be conjunct his Sun. And that could indicate an important, intensifying transformational and dramatic moment for his name and status. We will see about THIS 'prediction':)

Bettie Page, the first pin-up ever, died and this is her chart. The planet of arts and beauty (Venus) is rising before the Sun and 'calling' (not making major aspects in sign). Uranus square the Midheaven is illustrative for the upheavel around her. Uranus is semi square the 'calling Sun' and this makes you think about drawing attention and wanting to be in the center of attention at any possible level, being controversial if she had to. Breaking free most have been a central theme in her life (Sun quindecile Saturn and semi square Uranus). I suddenly remember that she was famous for bondage...

Betty Page has a prominent Sun, Mercury (semi square Aries Point), Venus (not aspected), Mars (dito), Jupiter (sesquisquare AP) and Neptune (dito).

Her Moon is strong in Cancer and final dispositor of the Midheaven. The Moon in Cancer is telling us about the need to 'pretend' or 'act' or to be the 'model'. Education of kids is related to the Moon and little children imitate the model (the mother for example). Many actors have a prominent Moon as they mirror the behaviour of the main character. This Moon conjunct Pluto on the cusp of the 5th house could be read as 'being a model strongly related to sexuality for entertainment'.

In fact, Boy George is an act. That is the conclusion of my post in Art and astrology, my new blog about patterns in the charts of artists.

Had I not known his profession, I would have thought that this was the chart of a man with self confidence, imense artistic talents (see the lines in the chart between Venus, Jupiter and Neptune) and technical skills, a man who wants to draw attention (Sun opposition MC). And to whom sexuality, influence, politics or money are of crucial importance. But I would also notice the price to pay for the status and reputation (ruler 10, inconjunct Pluto).

THE PRICE TO PAY FOR FAME
The most important planet in his chart, as far as the professional and public field is concerned, is Jupiter, ruler 10. Jupiter is tightly inconjunct the angular Pluto. Inconjunctions mean misbalance. In this case there will be a price to pay for a reputation. Sometimes with this aspect people earn their money in a way that conflicts with their moral (or with that of others).

CONVICTION AGAIN
In December 2008 Boy George was convicted for the abuse of a male escort (remember Mars conjunct Uranus for the hot head). Now transit Uranus was square Midheaven: for an upheavel and for being hot news.*) The 20th degree of Sagittarius (the degree of his Midheaven) will be visited by Saturn a few times and most of the time old Saturn has a punishment for 'bad' boys. His Saturn! is prominent (calling, no major aspects in sign). From time to time he warns others for the effect of drugs. (

The smoker in Obama's chart

Barack Obama is not able to quit smoking up to now, but he promised not to smoke in the White House (in order not to make it the Grey House, I suppose).
What in his chart shows the addicted smoker? In short: Neptune on top and the Moon opposition MC and in Gemini (sign of the lungs) and Mars semi square Neptune... But there is help on the way!

1. Neptune is the planet of vision, fantasy and ideology. But it is also the planet of mist, smoke and addiction. Tobacco came from the Native Americans. They smoked a pipe as a symbol or ritual in their religion.
Neptune is not only on top of this chart. Neptune is also square the Sun in Leo. Barack Obama should consider his health and stop to keep his hearth and veins in order. But he cannot.

2. The Moon is the symbol of needs and habits. There are prominent needs in a chart with a prominently placed Moon. This Moon is also square Pluto, intensifying needs and habits. It is strange that a person in control cannot control his needs, but he is not the only one.

3. Mars semi square Neptune illustrates a drive that 'goes to far'. Any addiction is overacting.

Now we have 3 good astrological reasons for smoking. I can even find a fourth one in the crucial placement of Ceres (nutrition and food, seeds and grain) square the ASC.

But are there tools for ending an addiction too? I know that I quit with Jupiter transiting my Ascendant. Obama will see Jupiter on his Ascendant end of March 2009. A perfect moment to give it a try and feel real good about it because Jupiter helps you do what is good for you. And Jupiter makes you grow weight, of course.

Progressed Sun/Moon midpoint

The midpoint Sun/Moon is a most important midpoint. Not just because it is the point in the middle of the lights in the sky. Also, because this midpoint symbolizes the marriage of heart and soul, the crossing point of spirit and soul and the integration of body and soul. An aspect with this midpoint offers insight in the heart desires of a person and what this person really wants out of life.

The progressed midpoint Sun/Moon, I thought, might be related to a changing and growing development of the hearts desires by transits of the moment or by aspects with the natal chart. I give some examples below.

A few days ago I illustrated the importance of the progressed chart using the progressed chart of Obama. This progressed chart has prominent placements for Saturn and Pluto, the symbols of government and policy. People grow and progressed charts show us in what direction.

In a progressed chart the positions of Sun and Moon change, of course, as the progressed chart shows positions of 1 day = 1 year later. Sun/Moon also changes with the rest of the chart. When I found out that on my wedding day transit Jupiter was conjunct the progressed midpoint Sun/Moon I was encouraged to find out more about it. On a first working day after a period of rest, Pallas was conjunct my Progressed Sun/Moon. I had to live in a pattern again...

Joe Biden had T Pluto at 29d22 Sagittarius semi square his progressed Sun/Moon in 14d16 Aquarius on Election Day. Pluto crossed the progressed Sun/Moon midpoint several times in the last months of 2008. He was confronted with the death of a family member and his son left for Iraq in an intense period of political confrontations! It was transformation time.

So: don't just look at the natal midpoint Sun/Moon but have a look at the progressed Sun/Moon midpoint, too. It might be a usefull tool to find or select a perfect day. Mine will be on January 6, 2009: Venus opposition Sun/Moon. Sometimes New Years speaches are real fun, I guess.

BTW As the Moon moves quickly, the Sun/Moon midpoint moves about 8 degrees each progressive year. When planets like Venus or Mercury or Mars move over this midpoint, it won't have a long lasting effect.
