On November 9, 2015 Uranus was novile Neptune. It means that Uranus and Neptune are 40 degrees apart. A novile is the kind of aspect for rejoice. In an earlier post (February 2014) I wrote about Uranus-Neptune and one of the meanings of the combination: assimilation (think of the Borg:). Perhaps this a day to be happy with assimilation, media hypes and a hoax. The novile of Uranus-Neptune makes it easy to be awake sleepy or vice versa. Uranus-Neptune is about unverified news.
There was a Uranus-Neptune conjunction when the first humanoid robot was constructed by Honda in 1993. That happens to be the same year of the Treaty of Maastricht (the foundation of Europe as it is now). The idea was the assimilation of nations in the long term. Uranus conjunct Neptune showed it.
One of the most important persons in Europe today, is Angela Merkel. Just like Barack Obama she has Sun square Neptune in her natal chart. Both Merkel and Obama have an aspect between Uranus and Neptune.Angela Merkel's chart has Uranus square Neptune. Barack Obama's chart has Uranus quintile Neptune. The square signals a struggle, the quintile signals a creative way to deal with the issue. Midpoint Uranus/Neptune is semi square Ascendant in Obama's chart and semi square Angela Merkel's natal Sun. They are both important Western leaders. Both have the aspect of assimilation.
Uranus and Neptune move slowly. The planets need to have a special place in the chart to be important for a person. In Angela Merkel's chart Uranus rises just before the Sun and Neptune is conjunct Midheaven. In Europe's (Treaty of Maastricht) and Barack Obama's chart Uranus and Neptune are in a less important position. Angela Merkel's life changed because of the assimilation of Western- and Eastern Germany. Now she is very much in favor of a united and growing Europe.
The combination of Sun with Uranus and Neptune could make a person hyper sensitive or involve the person in a media hype, according to the books (f.ex. Ebertin). I have seen examples of that. Both Derek Ogilvie (a television medium) and Sacha Baron Cohen have this midpoint combination. At a certain point in their lives, they were involved in media hypes.
Angela Merkel's is Sun/Uranus square Neptune. Reinhold Ebertin says of this combination that it warns for detrimental blind zeal. Well, it took her a long way up:). She is an idol now. Many immigrants call her 'Mother Merkel'. But just like Barack Obama, Derek Ogilvie and Sacha Baron Cohen she is a controversial idol. That is even more so, today, now that she sort of invited the refugees of the world to unite and come to Germany, thus creating a chaos and a possible danger for Europe's stability. There is also the danger of terrorism committed by Syrians. In Paris, they found a Syrian passport on one of the terrorists.
The Uranus-Neptune conjunction of Europe collides with the Uranus-Neptune square of Angela Merkel.
The progressed Sun of Angela Merkel is in a quindecile aspect with both transit Neptune and natal Eris. There will be a strong focus on uncertain issues and discord. It must be rather frustrating, even though the sextile of progressed Sun and Uranus is not long ago. She will have to wait till August 2016 for transit Jupiter conjunct progressed Sun to give her vital support. Meanwhile, her charts cries change.
Here is her chart with transits and progressions for November 13 (attack in Paris) with Saturn square her progressed Ascendant and Midheaven inconjunct Moon in the progressed chart, indications of emotions and a possible hard confrontation or serious prospect. Meanwhile Poland refuses immigrants after November 13... And it seems to be the end of Schenger and back to borders in the EU.

Europe and Euro today
Heavy transits are tormenting the charts of the Euro and Europe (Treaty of Rome)! The problems with Greece are being reflected by the astrological situation:
1 Saturn is semi square Pluto points at boomerang effects and frustrating setbacks of values (Euro goes down)
2 Saturn in Scorpio is inconjunct the Midheavens of Euro and Europe, in ths final degree of Gemini. As Saturn is Retrograde, this aspect will come back!
3 Pluto is quindecile the MCs of Euro and Europe, stressing the markets to a point of obsession
In the progressed chart we see Sun conjunct Venus as a sign of peace and harmony while the inconjunct of Saturn shows the end of a period and lost status. For some reason it is hard to post 2015 pictures, so:

Transit Pluto inconjunct Pluto (and Mario Draghi (EU))
When you
are about age 67 (more or less) transit Pluto will be inconjunct your natal
Pluto and challenge or stress your left over potential and strength. It is when
you loose some of your authority. Often people quit their job or stop their
business (at least, in Europe) at that age. This happenes to the generation of
1947 this year and it will happen to me in 2018. If your Pluto is in aspect
with personal planets, an angle or Sun or Moon (either in the birth chart or in
the progressed chart) it may have a more specific or special meaning.
An
inconjunct of Pluto is often a sign of a price to pay, having to give in and
loose power, lack of balance when it comes to values and authority or …
winning, BUT not without pain or challenges. I remember a Pluto inconjunct Mars
of a sports man who was completely exhausted and gave up his career
(sport=Mars). Hilary Clinton will have this transit Pluto inconjunct her
possible ruler 1 in the months before the 2016 elections, causing exhaustion
and stress. So she’d better prepare.
These kind
of transits happen to all of us one day, just like the Saturn transit cycle.
They remind you of your age and time running out. Nothing special, usually, but
it is a transit to consider when you are or want to be in a position of
authority or as a winner or when lots of money are involved.
I have two
Dutch examples. A TV reporter in a late night show stopped his late night
activities and the final show was with transit Pluto exactly inconjunct his
Pluto. Then we have the great coach Guus Hiddink. With transit Pluto inconjunct
Pluto there were question marks regarding the results of the Dutch team and the rumors were that he
was getting too old for the job.
This situation is in line with the chart of Europe (see: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2014/05/europas-birth-chart-and-elections.html ). I quote myself:
However, transit Neptune will be conjunct progressed Sun in 2015. It is a very undermining aspect that will be accompanied by the inconjunct Sun-Uranus.Pluto is part of the word 'Plutocracy'...meaning the power of wealth (and as you see on the picture above wealth comes with power, too:). With Pluto, you pay (and you pay less when you are rich enough:).

Jean-Claude Juncker's Saturn and Chiron
Usually,
uneasy transits and progressions with Saturn mark the end of a period, with
saying goodbye and farewell. Jean-Claude Juncker however, chooses to start in a
top level function in the European Union, in spite of criticism that is
supposed to happen in Saturn times. Here is his chart (day of birth, transits and progressions). There is no hour of birth, but it is easy to see the importance of Saturn rising before the Sun on December 9, 1954 in Redange (Lux).
Look at his chart: transit Saturn is now
square progressed Sun. As Juncker is about 60 years old, he faces his second Saturn return (time to face your age, memento mori). Progressed Mars is inconjunct natal Saturn. Transit
Uranus is inconjunct natal Saturn (and trine natal Sun). He could still
withdraw, but nobody expects him too. He has ambitions...But given the composition of transits and progressions, he is having hard times now. The chart mirrors more endings than beginnings. How does it feel to start this way? I guess that it hurts (see transit Chiron square natal Sun).

Saturn is the
symbol of management and ambition. Saturn is important in his natal chart. If Jean-Claude Juncker was born before 18 hours (6 p.m.) Saturn rises before a ‘calling’ Sun (the Sun in a starring role). The Sun is semi sextile Saturn all day. It is
the signature of a person ‘in charge’, a leader with ambition, a manager who
draws attention and could tend to be an autocrat.
There are more people born on December 9, 1954. One of them is a popular Dutch comedian who was given an estimate 10-15 years left in 2010 when he was diagnosed with leukemia. The other one is a Dutch football manager. Managing to be in charge is one of the things that Sun-Saturn does. Apparently, it doesn't have to be in politics, though Phil Bryant (Republican Governor) is definitely a politician, like Juncker, who is also a conservative.
Jean-Claude Juncker is very much in favor of
more Europe and doesn’t really seem to care about democracy. His answer to a No
in a referendum:
If it's a Yes, we will say 'on
we go', and if it's a No we will say 'we continue'. If it's a Yes, we will say
'on we go', and if it's a No we will say 'we continue'.
This man
will probably become Chairman of the European Commission. This in spite of
questions about his drinking habits (see Daily Telegraph). Earlier, a Dutch minister mentioned this... See the denial of Jean-Claude Juncker: http://www.lessentiel.lu/de/news/luxemburg/story/30109450
Anyway, Mr Juncker
has the full support of Angela Merkel and most of the members. David Cameron*) seems to be alone in
his criticism. This won’t stop Europe, …yet. Maybe it will keep Britain out of the Euro forever? There is more coming up for Europe.
There has been tension before (Uranus-Pluto
square in 2012-2013) and it is a bit easier now. But in 2015 transit Neptune
conjunct progressed Sun will be an undermining aspect. In 2018, when the Union is 60 years old (like Juncker now), Saturn will be conjunct the natal Sun of January 1958. That may be an important moment in history. With progressed Sun then inconjunct Uranus there will be an overdose of tension.
These kind of ‘democratic’
appointments and decissions defenitely won’t help to make the European Union
more popular, meanwhile...
*) Hungarian Orban will also vote against Juncker.

Europa's birth chart and the elections
There are
elections in Europe in May and we will know the results after 10 p.m. (8 p.m.
UT) on May 25, 2014, with Mars conjunct MC inconjunct Neptune (wasted energy…).
There is a number of important moments for ‘the birth of Europe’, but after
seeing the interaction between transits and events I think that the chart of
the day that the Treaty of Rome came into force (January 1, 1958) is the real
one. Studying the charts of important moments of the history of the European
Union I came to the conclusion that there are no astrologers in Brussels. They
manage to choose bad days for ment to be great moments.
The 1958 Treaty of Rome has Sun inconjunct
Uranus in the natal chart and right now Progressed Sun inconjunct Progressed
Uranus. The January 1 Sun has been subject to nasty hits of Uranus and Pluto so
that the European Union fully participated in the crisis.
The Euro
was introduced on a day with Sun inconjunct Saturn. If any aspect makes you
fall of your pedestal, it is that one!
The Treaty of Lisbon’s Saturn was inconjunct the progressed
Sun of Rome’s Treaty at the time of the ratification, mirroring the depression
of 2009. The same Saturn was conjunct the Neptune of the Maastricht’ Treaty.
When the members of the European parliament first got
together, the Sun was inconjunct Neptune, as if to illustrate the fading
ideals, the illusions and the negative press that they would get in the future.
EUROPE’s BIRTH CHART
Let’s say that January 1, 1958 is the day of birth of the
European Union. The chart has a very important Saturn, rising before the Sun
and without major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. This ‘calling’ Saturn
points at the importance of the State and of the past and of structure, while
the Sun inconjunct Uranus mirrors an overdose of tension and change. Or is it a
signal that the nature of the Union doesn’t match the nature of Independence,
Freedom and Equality? It is also a sign of ‘being too soon’.
EUROPE NOW
The tension of 1958 has his follow-up in the progressed
chart with Sun inconjunct Uranus. Again, Europeans consider the Union as a ‘stranger’,
an outsider who wants to reign sovereign countries. It is in the nature of a
Union of sovereign and sometimes completely different nations, perhaps.
The 11th degree of Capriocorn has been hit by the
Uranus-Pluto square in 2012 and 2013, but we can see the light at the end of
the tunnel. However, transit Neptune will be conjunct progressed Sun in 2015.
It is a very undermining aspect that will be accompanied by the inconjunct
Sun-Uranus.
ELECTIONS
No matter who chooses what, there will be a Europe after the
elections and not much will change anyway. Not now. In 2018, when the Treaty of
Rome is 60 years old, Saturn is conjunct the Sun and the progressed Sun will be
inconjunct natal Uranus. That is a serious sign to end this post with.
