The friendship in the synastry of Putin and Schroeder

Thirty percent of the Dutch and perhaps even a larger percentage of Eastern Europeans are afraid for a next World War. That is because of the crisis in Ukrain and the possible threat coming from Russia in the Baltic region (Nato territory). Meanwhile, former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and Vladimir Putin are good friends. Schroeder sort of defended his friend in an interview and now he is 'under fire'. Where in the charts can we see that?

First the relationship between the charts of Putin and Schroeder.
Here is the chart of Gerhard Schröder and the transits are for the day of birth of Putin. There is more on Putin's chart and on his Sun on the Grand Square in an earlier post.

When I look at the compatibility of charts, I always include the 'shared' aspects. In this case, both Schröder and Putin have a 'calling' Venus. When Venus 'calls' the ladies keep calling you:), but there is more. Venus is the symbol of diplomacy and charm. When Venus doesn't make an aspect in sign or orb 5 degrees, Venus is 'calling'. That means that you may manifest style, charm, diplomacy and perhaps a bit of vanity at any possible level, somehow and anyhow. As they both have this calling Venus, they share the same tendency to be kind to persons they like (in a special way). Venus of Gerhard is sesquisquare the Venus of Vladimir, so even though they like each other, there may be some kind of frustration because they don't always have the same preferences, even though they are 'compatible'. It is pleasant that the Venus of Putin is close to the Ascendant of Schroeder. That makes him feel comfortable and loved. So let's say that there is mutual sympathy (sometimes frustrating, but still pleasant).

Putin is a Libra, Schroeder is an Aries and that shouldn't match (if they were partners). Gerhard Schroeder's Moon is in Libra, however, and the Sun/Moon midpoint of Schroeder is close to Putin's Sun, as a sort of a compensation for their different nature.

Sympathy can't be enough to keep these VIP-politicians 'going', so what's more?

A. Putin's Pluto is exactly conjunct the Midheaven of Schroeder. There is a certain kind of authority or something that impresses Schroeder. 

B. The Saturn of Putin is conjunct the Sun of Schroeder. Even though there is a barrier or something that stands in the way (like age, status), there is at least respect. 

So that Putin impresses Schroeder and Schroeder is impressed, while Putin respects Schroeder.

It is a mix of liking and admiring each other. This friendship isn't liked or admired in Germany today, re the crisis in Ukrain. That is obvious, when you see the chart of Gerhard Schroeder, with transits and progressions. He is in the news (Uranus) the bad way (inconjunct) and subject to criticism. Friendship with the 'enemy' is not done. 

1. Saturn on his way to square Midheaven (criticism, end of a certain status) for the 2nd time
2. Progressed Midheaven inconjunct Uranus (alienation, upheaval with a loss of status)
3. Transit Saturn is about to make an inconjunct with progressed Venus (hurt feelings)

Putin and Surkov, the synastry and Orcus

Last week there was a very interesting development in Russia. Putin appointed Surkov in his government. Surkov is the founder of a radical pro Putin movement named Nashi (see Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nashi_(youth_movement). He is also the 

architect of Putin's policy to 'manage democracy' (see Wiki). The reason that I write about their chars is because of the synastry with Orcus and the similarity in their charts. And because of the strange timing of the appointment.

THE CHARTS AND THE MEN

It is clear that Surkov and Putin are strategic political comrades. What they share is the will to be in control, always (and what they don't want is criticism). 

Both have a Sun-Saturn conflict in the natal chart (Putin the conjunction, Surkov the inconjunction). You know that Sun-Saturn conflicts have a problem with criticism and want to be in control, always. The fact that they share this aspect means that they will join forces to keep the status quo as it is. They are managers and they manage to be in control. 

Quoting myself on Astromarkt about sharing aspects http://www.astromarkt.net/sharing-aspects:

Sun and Saturn shared makes you worry a lot if the aspect is hard. Maybe you do this, due to sharing nasty life experiences or feeling the same limitations and responsibilities. Nice trines or sextiles make you the serious couple, the parents perhaps. You go for a long time relationship and for getting old together and you are consistent in that! Your perseverence is highlghted. 

Both have Pluto rising before the Sun (and then Uranus) for strategy and policy first (and for a certain amount of radicalism). Now the synastry…and the starring role for Orcus.

They have Mars biquintile Mars, for cooperating in a creative way. They have Venus square Venus for a sort of a mutual sympathy, even though their sun signs don’t match (and neither do their moon signs*). Notice that Orcus of Putin is square the Sun of Surkov and vice versa. It says that vows, oaths and promises will be a key issue in their relationship. (There is more, like the Jupiter of Surkov inconjunct the Mars of Putin. That makes me think that the support of Surkov lead them to success but with a loss for Putin on the way). 

Why did Putin make him the First Deputy Chief (see the news: http://english.ruvr.ru/2011/12/27/62994237.html) now? Isn’t it strange that this happens now that Surkov’s progressed Sun is sextile Pluto (come back, survival) and trine Orcus? And that that is shortly after transit Neptune inconjunct Surkov’s Sun? Inconjunctions of Neptune show deceptions and rumors or bad press. Demonstrations in Moscow show that the strategy isn't perfect. Surkov's progressed Sun of Surkov is applying to a square with Neptune and in my eyes, that is a sign for a bad press within 1,5 year. Again...(but maybe his personal chart with hour of birth has a better prospect for him...).

Here is the C-rated (! Take care, that means that the hour of birth might not be correct) chart of Putin. The transits are the positions on the day of birth of Surkov.

*) Which means that they are not two of a kind and that they shouldn’t get married but as there is also no conflict between the suns there won’t be a question about ‘who is the boss’.

Putin's grand square and 14th degree of Cardinal signs

There is a Grand Cross in the air: Jupiter in Cancer oppositie Pluto in Capricorn, square Mars in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries. It is like a high speed crossing point with a problem: who is first, who has the right to move first. Vladimir Putin has his Sun at one of the points of the crossing, in 13.9 Libra. He is part of the 'game'.

The 14th degree of cardinal signs includes the 14th of Libra, a degree affected by the transits of Mars, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto at the same time. The Grand Cross means busy days for anyone with the Sun, Midheaven, Ascendant or Moon in a 14th degree of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn...and lots of tension.
The tension in Ukraine seems to mirror the tension in the chart of the Russian leader. Why? Because the charts of leaders (and coaches) very frequently show what happens to the people (or the team).

The 14th degree of Libra is pictured in Zodiac Images. Janduz speaks of a scene with a man and a woman spying on each other like in a play.

Putin was a member of the KGB before he became a politician. Both jobs include strategies. Pluto is the symbol of policy, strategy and power. It is the first (dwarf)planet rising before Putin's natal sun and - if the time of birth is correct -, Pluto is also the planet on Midheaven. That is how important strategy, politics and power are in this chart. 

As Pluto and Midheaven are in the 22/23 degree of Leo there, transit Saturn in the first house is square his Midheaven.  It  could just be personal (he divorced last year) but with Saturn-MC there is always the sense of being alone, being aware of your responsibilities and mistakes, the public fall (of your pedestal or a real fall with consequences). But as his hour of birth could be wrong, I'd like to focus on the 14th degree of his Libra Sun and the Grand Square

OOB MOON CALLING SCORPIO ASCENDANT
Putin's chart has a 'calling' and out of bounds Moon in Gemini (perhaps inconjunct the Scorpio Ascendant). That Moon is a signal for a need to communicate and for needs and at any possible level, with surprising reactions.
So, his Moon is highly unpredictable.

B. Quoting myself about the Moon not making ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees:

The Moon is of importance when you want to keep memories alive, like with historic facts or when you play a certain role on stage, but the Moon is also important for cooks. This calling Moon will shine on habits and daily needs.

The other side of the calling Moon is that what you need is so important, that sometimes you are overruled by your needs. If this Moon rises before the Sun, the person involved will be lead by needs and emotions.

This important, unpredictable 8th house (!) Moon tells us of his need to keep memories and history alive and to communicate that. The inconjunct with the Ascendant shows overreaction. The sentimental (Moon) journey (Gemini) comes in the shape of a Scorpio Ascendant, defensive by nature. It is what happens and what the Russians say: they feel that they are defending their interests and the Russians in Ukraine and Crimia. A historical after-cold-war mistake now creates tension.

And his Mars is also out of bounds (for the workaholic).

GRAND CROSS DEGREES
The tension of the Grand Square maybe makes him very nervous and stressful, but also brings him success. He (and because of his position: Russia) choose to support Al Assad in Syria and Assad is winning. He invaded Crimia and he is allowed to keep it. There are indications for his successes.

1. In the progressed chart Mars is square Jupiter (and the square is getting tighter)
2. Jupiter and Pluto square his natal sun means midpoint Jupiter/Pluto on his Sun = success
3. Jupiter and Uranus in hard aspect with his Sun contribute to relief and unexpected progress
4. Mars and Jupiter in hard aspect with his Sun help him to move on
5. Uranus and Pluto in hard aspect with his Sun force changes (and rebellion)

The pictures of the Grand Cross degrees are:

1. A man coming out of a wine cellar, toasting, and a dog and a lion looking at each other, rather friendly (14 Aries)
2. A serene sky with a beautiful star above flowers. A crowned lamb nearby, decorated with a star (14 Cancer, a degree for fame)
3. 14 Libra is that degree of the spying couple, acting
4. 14 Capricorn is a degree of a frog playing the harp and means harmony

Now, who's afraid of the Grand Cross in such friendly, starry, harmonic and (OK) spying/acting degrees? The Wine Cellar 14 degree Aries man has Uranus for a surprising taste. The serene sky has Jupiter for even more success. The frog has Pluto (very convenient for the symbol of frogs). Only that Mars in Libra might be a problem, because there will be competition between the spying man and woman.

It is obvious that the Grand Cross brings tension. But, the 14th degree doesn't harm Putin up to now. In fact: he seems to get what he wants. He got the Olympics, he got Crimia. He sees his friend Assad win. And though it's lonely at the top, there must be compensation for that. Here is the chart with transits and progressions for now (click to enlarge):

Meanwhile, how is Obama (leader of the West) doing? The Grand Cross doesn't hit his chart at all. It is Saturn.

OCTOBER 2014 SATURN AND JUPITER
Saturn will be semi square his AC/MC midpoint (again) late in October 2014, when Putin gets transit Saturn square MC. It the same 'coincidence' that occurred in early March, when I wrote about 'Lots of Mars' in their charts and synastry. I have no idea what to expect, but I know that Obama will have Jupiter on his Descendant mid October and that Putin will see transit Jupiter on his Midheaven in November. AC and MC of Putin is less sure than of Obama's!

How to interpret this? Only if you know what happened between now and October you can be certain that it means a successful ending for both. Let's hope that it is a successful ending of the new cold war. BTW:

Meeting of Obama and Putin on July 6, 2009

Next week, on July 6, President Obama of the USA will meet PM Putin of Russia in Moscow. Both leaders have the Moon in Gemini and their Moons are very close. Usually that means that they are 'soul mates' or friends. Let us hope that that is true and that their meeting will be in a good atmosphere. Mr. Putin and Mr. Obama are good diplomats. Their Venus doesn't make major aspects and that is telling us that they are charming (if they want to:) at any possible level.

SATURN-URANUS
Today I read that Barack Obama had said that Putin is still having one foot in the past and that Putin answered that he is not. As it happens (...) both have an aspect between Saturn and Uranus in the natal chart. Limited liberty, independence with restrictions, old and new, hanging on to the past...all that is part of the concept of Saturn-Uranus. It is a concept that they share. MARS-URANUS TRANSITS
Mr. Putin has transit Uranus square Mars (so maybe he needs to take some tranquilizers to remain calm - Progressed Midheaven conjunct Neptune:).
Barack Obama has transit Mars square natal Uranus and will perhaps not be as diplomatic as usual, too. As he also has Venus conjunct Uranus in the progressed chart, perhaps he will meet nice new friends or he just loves the adventure of being in the former USSR.

Mars-Uranus is the combination of impulses. Let us see if they are top politicians enough to manage their impulses. And let's hope that the conjunction of their natal Moons means that they feel comfortable with each other. Mars-Uranus CAN be used for teamwork. ... We will know the results after the 6th! Obama-Putin today: lots of Mars

You know that Mars is the planet of competition, struggle and war (with Eris, IMO). Yesterday Barack Obama, President of the USA had a long phone call with Vladimir Putin, President of Russia and it was about Ukraine. In that republic they got rid of the leader, who was pro-Russia. In the republic is a large population of Russians AND there is a strategic harbor, so Russia wants to protect it's interest. On the other hand, the new government wants to be liberated from the Russian influence and join Europe. The eastern part of Ukraine is more willing to support Putin. What now? I don't know, I just know that right now Obama and Putin are under the influence of Mars. Putin just had his Venus return, but there is also transit Mars on his Midheaven. Obama's progressed Mars is conjunct Putin's progressed MC and also conjunct transit Mars. They are both activated, irritated and in a state of competition. That doesn't sound peaceful. But maybe John Kerry can be the bridge between them. His Prg Venus (symbol of balance and diplomacy) is square transit Mars, the progressed Mars of Obama and the progressed MC of Putin.

December Venus and November events

It is amazing how the Venus in Scorpio of Vladimir Putin is trine the Venus in Pisces of Recep Erdogan! This should mean 'mutual sympathy' (at least!) but there are complications. Venus of Erdogan is inconjunct the natal Sun of Putin. On Astromarkt (http://www.astromarkt.net/astrology_to_study-html/synastry-inconjunct-html/ ) I wrote about that:

‘Sun inconjunct Venus synastry: loving a person who just doesn’t seem to deserve it.’

First of all they are (I think) hetero sexual males and second (but not last): they like to rule and don't like to be offended. Their charts are part of this post, but first I like to mention that Venus in Scorpio rules December and that that is good for Scorpio, Pisces, Capricorn and Virgo. There is also Jupiter in Virgo, very nice for Virgo, you'd think. But as Venus in Scorpio and Jupiter in Virgo are not at all in their own sign, they are weakly placed. That is why you might expect to get Christmas presents like towels with a sexy guy or girl or even socks with the text 'I am sexy'. I am just warning! It is because Venus in Scorpio is:

"Challenges in love and relationships...It is all or nothing for you in love. Some persons with this placements had problems and decided it will be a Venus in the desert forever. But when the aspects are good: strong and fanatic love and deeply true!"

Here is the chart of the Turkish' president (source Astro.com) with transits and progressions. The prominent positions of Uranus and Mars is the prominence of the short fuse. Sun in Pisces and Moon in Sagittarius tell us: ‘Your greatest resource is faith’ according to http://universal-tao-eproducts.com/mp/files/sun-moon_pisces-sagittarius.pdf. 

When the Russian SU-24 was shot, his Saturn was opposite the Moon and his Sun in conflict with transit Mars (inconjunct), Saturn (square) and Neptune (conjunct). Even though the transits reveal a bad move, Erdogan will be supported by Obama and the NATO. Even the migration crises seems to help him (visa free entry to Europe for the Turkish people). It might be that the elevated position of Jupiter in his solar return of 2015 helps him. But it won't last forever. Erdogans progressed Sun will be inconjunct Mars within a year. It looks like transit Mars inconjunct Sun repeating itself. And there will be progressed Sun opposite Saturn and quindecile Neptune. The same transit combination of the incident will come back in progression and show loss and isolation. His progressed Ascendant is now square Uranus (tension) and transit Uranus will be conjunct progressed Ascendant in March 2016, for more tension and surprise. 

AND HOW IS PUTIN?

Vladimir Putin has to deal with Pluto (see: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2014/04/putins-grand-square-and-14th-degree-of.html ) again. A while ago I wrote on Astromarkt (http://www.astromarkt.net/horoscooplezingen-html/horoscoop-vladimir-putin-html/) about his solar return with Sun square Pluto and mentioned stress related to Syria.

Politics are complicated. But the fact that Putin's Neptune is in hard aspect with Erdogan's Sun shows that he was mistaken in the man who doesn't like opponents, just like he doesn't. 

Let's move over to VenusOver naar  Venus in december…

VENUS IN DECEMBER

Venus  is the planet of beauty, love, fun and everything that is nice. If you want to know how nice your holidays are going to be, check Venus! And for the positive idea, see where Jupiter is. The fact is, that both planets are in the wrong sign in December. Venus is in Scorpio. That makes love intense and rather complicated. Jupiter is weak in Virgo. It is the jolly good Santa bringing you a stockings or shirts! And this time, Venus in Scorpio will be there to add a text like 'I am sexy' on your socks. I am just warning!:)...

Venus in Scorpio is pleasant for Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio, Capricorn and Virgo (double blessed, with Jupiter in Virgo, too, especially those born between September 14 and 17). Those signs know how to handle Venus in Scorpio! Did you know that Bruce Springsteen also has Venus in Scorpio? 

On Xmas Eve there is a nice sextile between Venus and Jupiter around 22d54m. If your chart (or progressed chart) has any position in the 23rd degree of Virgo, Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, Gemini or Capricorn, than plan your party on December 24 2015! Venus-Jupiter aspects are great for fun. Also check the midpoint Venus/Jupiter or your natal midpoint Venus/Jupiter for very nice moments (and not just in December). The not so nice effect of Venus-Jupiter might be 'gaining weight' but you won't notice until later:).

BIRTH CHART PUTIN AND MEDVEDEV Change of roles...

With transit Neptunus tightly (0.o orb) opposition Midheaven, president Putin became prime minister Putin today. Neptune is the planet of giving up and hiding away. But maybe, as Neptune is in his 12th house, he is in charge on the background. In his progressed chart the Midheaven is going to join progressed Neptune, and later, next year: progressed Saturn.

His successor, Dmitri Medvedev, has transit Uranus opposition Sun right now. Medvedev (14th September 1965) promisses changes and more freedom. He has Pluto oriental (for being a politician in the first place) and conjunct Uranus, both sextile Mars(for being somewhat impulsive and radical, forcing changes). Jupiter is square Aries Point for the international.

Putin's Jupiter is trine the natal sun of Medvedev (for his support) and his Venus is septile the sun of Medvedev (for this sympathy). Jupiter of Medvedev is connected to the Sun of Pluto in a quindecile 105 degree aspect.
Maybe the Moon of Medvedev is conjunct the descendant of Putin?

Vladimir Putin, artist in the progressed chart

This is the progressed chart of Vladimir Putin. Neptune is conjunct the Libra Midheaven, trine the Moon and square Venus. And that is a pattern of (public) artistic talents like the other ones on my blog Art & Astrology.

Recently I demonstrated how Barack Obama's progressed chart tells us that he grew into his position. Now I have another example of how the progressed chart works.

Vladimir Putin is a man with an oriental Pluto on Midheaven in the natal chart, a top politician. Now he sold his (first) painting, see this link. Pluto's prominent position in the natal chart tells us that he is above all and first of all a politician, someone with power and influence. This is his natal chart:
There is no artistic pattern in the natal chart. But there is a prominent artistic pattern in the progressed chart*). In the course of his life, he developed sense of beauty.

You see that in the aspects of Moon, Venus and Neptune and in their signs, related to the Midheaven. Remember that the positions in the progressed chart move on. The Moon moves fast. The progressed chart shows a period in time and a development, but the natal chart is the fundament of it. So I don't think that Putin will give up his power and start making paintings for a living:)

Sochi Winter Games, chart of the start

Soon there will be the kick off for the Winter Games of Sochi, 2014. It seems that the men and women who are to compete have nice accommodations but that the journalists have to deal with unfinished hotels sometimes. Never mind, the show must go on! Let's have a look at the chart of the kick off.

The official starting moment of the Olympics in Sochi is Friday, February 7 at 20:14 hours local time, with Mercury square Midheaven and conjunct Neptune on the Descendant, opposition Pallas.

Here is the chart for that moment with the planet of achievement, competition and fighting (Mars) without major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. When Mars is 'calling' there will be efforts at any possible level. The other side is that there might be aggression or attacks, too. ,The Moon in Gemini elevated and sesquisquare Venus and Pluto (rising before the Sun), hopefully intensifying the good mood. The Venus-Pluto conjunction in the 5th house of games and entertainment is still opposition Jupiter in the 11th. Perhaps the costs and the price of the games are higher than was to be expected.

There are 3 important aspects:

transit Jupiter quindecile Mars
transit Jupiter trine Venus
These two transits of Jupiter mirror growing passion. The first transit shows a strong focus (if not obsession) to succeed and for a party.

transit Saturn square Pluto is more complicated (read about the boomerang effect here: http://astromarkt.net/saturn-in-aspect-with-pluto.html ). This transit shows the danger of the nasty sides of politics. The good thing about this transit is that it has already been exact when the games start. Saturn-Pluto combinations are frequent in the charts of individual sports men and women.

I very much hope for safe games with a happy ending for all involved and maybe even a good influence for the sake of Russian homosexuals and for the people of Sochi.

Chart d.o.b. and the 2015 of Forecaster Martin Armstrong

Martin Armstrong is a financial forecaster who developed his own system based on history to predict all time highs and lows, and crisis in nations. Although it is common knowledge that results from the past don't guarantee those of the future, I am interested after seeing The Forecaster (http://forecaster-movie.com/en/the-movie/ )

He forecasted a problem with the states debts in October 2015 (a close down) and - in 2014 - he saw indications for a world wide war and/or the fall of Europe after clashes with immigrants. It is not hard to predict problems in Europe, but ... in February 2014 there weren't those amounts of immigrants to house, feed and more, like today. It is a migrant crisis (see Wikipedia), during Neptune in the first 10 degrees of Pisces, like the Migration Period of 376 (see: http://www.astromarkt.net/astrology_to_study-html/neptune-in-pisces-html/ )

How are Europe, the USA and Putin doing today according to the charts?

• The chart of Europe (Treaty of Rome, January 1 1958) has Neptune conjunct progressed Sun right now and that is in line with confusion, invasion and uncertainty. 
• Transit Pluto is opposite the USA Sun and this describes how the leading position of the USA is being challenged today.
• Transit Pluto is square Vladimir Putin's Sun, even on his birthday:)

It is stressy.

Shortly, transit Neptune will hit the USA Progressed Sun as well. Neptune always offers mist and obscurity, if there is no strong ideal to 'go for' (and end up in the mist as well, sometimes:). So, the 'stars' aren't favorable. But we can all see that.

Neptune is all around. I mentioned this before here http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2015/09/syria-merkel-germany-and-astrology.html and I quote myself:

...The chart of Germany (United Germany, October 3, 1990, Berlin, zero hours) has transit Neptune in Pisces inconjunct the natal Sun in Libra. That is exactly the kind of aspect that makes it hard to deal with all the Neptunic things such as refugees, the sea, idealism, beliefs and the media. This aspect demands clarity, openness and open eyes when there is little balance and too much confusion. It is hard to do. The chart of the leader of the nation is in line with that. 

As Angela Merkel's Progressed Sun is in the 24th of Virgo, quindecile (165d) transit Neptune, there will be a strong focus..

Martin Armstrong however, will see Jupiter trine his progressed Sun later this month, just like in 1989 when he forecasted the all time high (going low). There is no time of birth available, so that all I can tell you about his chart is this:

- Saturn doesn't make major aspects in sigh or orb 5 degrees. Parents! Ambition! Business!
- Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Pisces: discretion and secrets (he never gave away his source code, even not in jail and under pressure)
- Jupiter/Neptune = Sun (speculations, fans and followers, beliefs)
- Jupiter 157.5 Pluto (minor aspects, major impact; this increases confidence)

Well, time will tell if the system of Martin Armstrong can forecast major problems like wars and crashes always or if those who have been warned will be able to prevent this or...that it is just speculations. I'd rather believe that...

PS The picture is of the place where they kept Martin Armstrong for 7 years without sun or rain on his face, trying to make him give away the source code of his system (according to the movie). From the way that he has been treated you can tell how scary it is for some people if a person can really 'forecast' the future of those in power and with money.

The Russian in the chart of Gerard Depardieu

Gerard Depardieu is a Russian now. The Frenchman first moved to Belgium, as a sort of a tax refugee. Then he asked for the Russian nationality and he got it. He was invited to become minister of Culture in one of the Russian republics, too. Here is the news: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-20927274 The move causes controversy. When there is controversy, we see Uranus.

The transits and progressions in his chart tell us about:

1. Change and controversy (Progressed Uranus conjunct progressed Midheaven)
2. Emotional change of position (Progressed Moon square progressed MC)
3. New worlds (transit Quaoar conjunct progressed MC)
4. Domestic situation in the spotlights (Transit Vesta square progressed Sun)

In the natal chart Uranus is in an important position, on the Descendant, inconjunct the Moon and 'calling' (not making major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees). Uranus is the symbol of change, controversy, rebellion and being different.

MOON INCONJUNCT URANUS
With Moon inconjunct Uranus the need to make a difference and be 'special' involves a loss. Sasstrology.com offers a complete article about the emotional detachment mirrored by Moon-Uranus. It is a long way from Chateauroux to Saransk.
With Moon-Uranus you are sort of used to be an emotional outsider. I see this aspect in the charts of observers. Example: dr. Phil and... mr. Putin. I am curious about the relationship between Putin and Depardieu, sharing a Moon-Uranus aspect! From what I write on Astromarkt I should advice mr. Depardieu not to move to Russia. They are better friends when they are apart:).

Moon in aspect with Uranus in both of the charts tells us about surprises. The relationship can be a flashing one or there are tensions at home all the time. Both of the partners have a desire to be different than the other and share a desire for sensation. Maybe they are both psychic and possibly they can have a special 'supernatural' contact.

Grand Crosses, Mars-Eris, nuances and New Moon chart 2015

Yesterday, I was surfing on the Internet when I found an interview with an astrologer who said to fear the Grand Cross of April, and particularly on April 15 and in the USA. I was confused. There is no Grand Cross in April.

Then I realized that it was about the Grand Cross of April 2014. On April 15 the Grand Cross wasn't exact. I think that 'April 15' was mentioned because of the lunar eclipse (visible in the America's and Australia/New Zeeland only). Well, on April 15, 2014 there was no catastrophe in the USA (not a natural one and neither in politics) but there is always one somewhere. This time, in Africa, Boko Haram abducted hundreds of girls and ruined their and their family's lives. The day after there was a disaster with a cruise ship in Korea. But nothing that changed the world in the USA.

Now I learned that major earth quakes have rather mediocre charts for the day of the event (see about catastrophic eruptions: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/02/mediocre-chart-positions-of.html Those were the kind of eruptions that caused hunger all over the world for years!). So, given these historical facts, I don’t expect a catastrophe when there is a Grand Cross, because I ask myself:

How many catastrophes happened with a tight Grand Cross? (And how many without?)**)

The aspect reflects tension, but not necessarily an event of Grand Importance on the specific day. However, here is some nuance: big events have a long shadow ahead. 

Charts of Astrological New Year and the First New Moon of the year, carry information about the months ahead. So it was in 2014.

2014 was the year when the conflict in Ukrain turned into civil war and the nations with nuclear power choose their sides. On June 29 ISIS renamed itself Islamic State and we know what happened next. And on July 17 hundreds of innocent civilians lost their lives when a rocket hit their plane above Ukraine. Nobody could have predicted these events in details. But there is a danger of conflicts in the important charts of 2014. Here are some posts on Astropost, published ahead of that danger:

1. The New Moon chart (Mars opposition Eris and Eris inconjunct Saturn)

‘Around the 10th of July Mars will be opposite Uranus and square Pluto again. And later that month Mars will again be opposite Eris. Does that promise conflicts again in July? I hope not.’

2. Putin and the Grand Cross

In April of 2014, I wrote about the Grand Square (or Grand Cross) hitting the chart of Vladimir Putin in 2014. He is still around, and there is still the danger of a growing conflict in Europe as his troops and the troops of NATO keep testing at the edge of dangerous borders. In 2014 he conquered Crimia.

3. The sad day: Mars afflicted in July 2014

Grand Crosses may not directly ‘inflict’ or ‘cause’ international catastrophes, but there is tension and that shows. So don’t expect the catastrophe to start at the very moment of the aspect, but be aware of what happens next, especially in regions of tension and (more personal) when you are in a stressful situation. Grand Crosses are rare and so are catastrophes, but they don’t necessarily occur at the same moment. The Grand Cross of April 2014 for me personally didn’t bring much tension. I was preparing for a holiday. The degrees didn’t ‘hit’ my chart. If it hit yours, tension might have thrown a shadow ahead for the next period in 2014. 

HOW ABOUT 2015?

In the light of what is been written above, it’s not a good sign that Mars is conjunct Eris in the chart of Astrological New Year 2015, either*) But maybe I should explain that there are

conjunctions of Mars and Eris every (about) 2 year and that doesn’t start a World War. There are military conflicts going on all the time. Conflicts don’t need a Mars conjunct Eris to begin. 

I decided to publish the chart of the first New Moon in the new astrological year, because I found that chart more descriptive for the year than the chart of Zero Aries. As New Moon was on 'New Year's Eve' of the Astrological New Year, we have to wait till April 18 for that First New Moon. In the chart of that moment, we see Sun conjunct Moon (of course), both trine Quaoar and biquintile Saturn. Now I know that it is ‘just’ Quaoar and ‘just’ a minor aspect but I like to see the symbol of new horizons, for all, and the aspect of creating stability. It is so much better than Mars conjunct Eris. So let’s believe in that chart! It might help. Why else do politicians in India offer gift to the gods in order to make their bad charts work better on April 23 (elections***)? They do so for ages and I haven’t read (yet) that it is no use:). Progressions: the progressed Sun - part 1

This January is ‘progressed chart’ month on Astropost. There will be special attention for progressions. If you are not familiar with the term, scroll down for more general info. In short: the progressed chart is a completely new chart, based upon the natal chart, with a new Ascendant, a new Midheaven and  new positions for the Sun, Moon and planets.
