Chart Bill Clinton (heart operation)

Bill Clinton underwent a sudden heart operation yesterday, after complaining of pain. Here is his natal chart with progressions and transits. Transit Neptune (ruling the 6th house of illnesses and ailments) is opposition natal Sun right now. Sometimes the effect of Neptune opposition Sun is 'being seen in a negative light'. Sometimes the aspect is reflecting a health issue. That is because the Sun is they symbol of honour and of vitality. Also transit Chiron is now opposition natal Sun, mirroring 'healing'. Transit Saturn is in the 4th degree of Libra, close to the Ascendant and semi square progressed Mars. That is a statement for blocked (Saturn) energy (Mars). If Bill Clinton's Ascendant and Midheaven are in the 6th degree of cardinal signs, like in this chart of Astrodatabank, transit Saturn and transit Pluto will be afflicting his Ascendant, his Midheaven and the crucial midpoint AC/MC this year. It has been most fortunate that today transit Jupiter is inconjunct Ascendant and Midheaven and quindecile AC/MC. Jupiter is the symbol of doctors and of what cures you. Later this year transit Jupiter will have moved on in Pisces, but the hard guys (Saturn and Pluto will still be in hard aspect with the Ascendant. That might force Bill Clinton to take care and perhaps this pain and operation should be seen as a warning not to force himself and to consider his age and health.

CHARTS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PRESIDENTS AND VICE-PRESIDENTS

Presidents and vice-presidents...Do they need to match? Obama and Biden, McCain and Palin, they don't need to match like friends do or like lovers do. They work together and let us hope that they have the same goals, without competition.

Did Bill Clinton match with Al Gore? Or JF Kennedy with LB Johnson? Did they choose their running mates because they liked each other? The choice for a vice-president might be made on a basis of complementarities, too. The latest teams (IMO) have such a basis. The democrats have Obama, the idealist/visionary and Biden, who does the implementation. They cooperate because they have the same goals. The republicans have McCain, a man of action, with Palin, an ambitious idealist. They join forces to make a change together (and alter the polls). Choices seem to have improved during history. Here is my astrological view about JFK/LBJ (a polite relationship), Clinton/Gore (a separated couple) and GWB/Cheney (colliding genarations).

LOVELY SYNASTRY? MOON AND VENUS FOR JFK AND LBJ
See JFK and LBJohnson's charts and you immediately notice that LB's Moon is square the Sun of Kennedy (a match in a way, but not an easy one) and that his Venus is square the Ascendant of JFK (uh?). Moon and Venus of LBJ are linked to Sun and Ascendant of JFK. We cannot expect them to have been lovers, can we? I read that JFK offered LBJ the position of VP as a sort of a courtesy (being polite: VENUS!) and that he needed (MOON!) the LBJ-voters.
Both men have the Moon biquintile Pluto. They share a need for power and control and they are both able to creatively act as an authority.

LBJ has Mars oriental, conjunct Sun, in a very 'Virgo' chart. JFK has Jupiter oriental (square Uranus). The Sun, Neptune and Pluto are 'calling'. JFK was a leader at any level with an international orientation and a modern conviction. He also was and is mythical (Neptune and Pluto prominent). LBJ had the perfect chart to operate in the shadow of JFK. I am surprised to see LBJ's Vulcanus (symbol of violent/public death) on the descendant of JFK.

The relationship between a born international leader and an energetic public servant was based upon diplomacy and need.

NOT A MATCH? VENUS-NEPTUNE AND MOON-SATURN FOR BILL AND AL
Did Bill and Al ever like each other, I wonder? The Venus of Al Gore, square the Sun of Bill Clinton seems to show some sympathy and Venus of Bill is opposition the Sun of Al, so maybe there was a mutual agreement or mutual courtesy. Al Gore happens to have a sesquisquare of Venus and Neptune, so that Neptune is conjunct Bill's Venus and Venus is sesquisquare Bill's Venus. That turns the sympathy into frustration and disillusion. Of course, when you work together, you must like each other a little bit, but...Saturn of Bill is conjunct the Ascendant of Al and Moon of Al is square Ascendant and opposition MC of Bill. It looks like a father-mother relationship with the nation as the 'to be nurtured' child. Bill the father and Al the mother:)

Bill Clinton is a politician 'pur sang'. Pluto is oriental in his chart. He knows the right people and knows how to earn money. Mercury, Saturn and Pluto rising before the Sun make him a true strategist. He has a strong will (fixed signs prevail) and he doesn't seem to have much empathy (no water signs), so that he might hurt feelings when he speaks out (fire and air).

Al Gore is an ambitious person (Sun Aries, Moon Capricorn). His Mercury and Venus are calling and that gives him communication talents. He is not a servant, like LBJ was.

What they share are aspect combinations of Mercury and Pluto (the power of the word) and Mars -Saturn with Jupiter-Pluto (the ambition, earning money). But what divide them are the aspects that point at divorce from a woman in a male’s chart: Moon-Saturn and Venus-Neptune. Should we see the president and the VP as a married couple?:)

This relationship is between a strong willed strategical politician who might hurt feelings and an ambitious communication talent, whose presentation is somehow in the disadvantage of the president.

THE SILENT VP: GEORGE AND DICK

The Saturn square Saturn in their charts could be explained by the relationship that Cheney already had with George W. Bush's father. Dick Cheney might be sort of representing the Bush senior administration and in some ways, there may be or have been differences and controversy. There are little matches and also Cheney's Jupiter is square Bush's Saturn. It will be difficult for Cheney to advice Bush. Another thing is Bush's Pluto opposition Cheney's Sun. Now we have Saturn and Pluto of Bush against Jupiter and Sun of Cheney. Where Bush experiences the disadvantages of politics and the problems of administration, Cheney - in this relationship - seems to be growing. His Pluto on the Ascendant of Bush tells us about the influence of the VP and of how the presentations of Bush are a pain to Cheney, perhaps.

Bush, his chart has been read by too many people already, so let's be short. Saturn on the Ascendant is not the best position a person can have, but the angularity of Saturn shows ambition, too. We see Mercury calling, biquintile Neptune for communications at any level, creatively connected to the planet of fantasies and mistakes. Uranus is oriental. The prominent placements of Mercury, Saturn and Uranus refer to the controversy between conservatives and democrats, the old and the new ideas, the communications between father and the son and: at the limitations of mental freedom (maybe just the protocol or the law) that play a major role in his life. Note that Saturn and Uranus will be on the meridian of the final moment of the elections and that Saturn inconjunct Uranus is the tightest aspect in Obama's chart.

Bush's chart is that of a reserved and taken back person who want to make changes and be 'different' but is limited at the same time.

Cheney has an oriental Ceres with Mars. Nurture and caretaking are strongly related to war and aggression. Ceres is the symbol of seeds and Mars of war. The oriental Mars is for a 'do-er', a person who is ready to act, always. He also has a calling Neptune, so that both Mars and Neptune are prominent in his chart. Mars is sesquisquare Pluto and that points at political struggle. That makes you think about wasted energy and the probability of mistakes. But then, how could he rise to a VP? Is this his HOB, really? Well, if it is, he miraculously made his way to Washington. Neptune trine the Midheaven is illustrative for his discretion and this silent VP.

This relationship seems to be between a limited president wanting to make changes and a discretely acting vice president who do not trust each other much. For an administration the conflict between their Saturn's is very hard to deal with. They seem to have different ideas about rules and laws.

OBAMA AND BIDEN
The Saturn of Obama is opposition the Jupiter of Joe Biden. The Moon of Obama is conjunct the Descendant of Biden (for 8:30) and Mercury trine the Ascendant of Biden. Venus of Obama square Neptune of Biden. Sun of Biden square Node of Obama. They do not have matching sun signs, moon signs or Mercury's. The choice for Biden must have been based on other terms than 'feel goods'.

The Saturn-Jupiter conflict is interesting. The convictions of Biden might me in contrast with the ambitions of Obama and Obama tends to limit Biden's progress in life or ...to give it the constructive basis that is needed. One in the role of the man in charge (Saturn) and one in the role of the coach (Biden), but sometimes they might have quite different views. I hope that Obama will accept his advices and that they are able to keep the balance in ups and downs.

Is it a fortune that Obama's Moon is conjunct Biden's Uranus and descendant? This combination might awaken certain habits and reactions in Obama and one never knows which, because Uranus is surprising. The combination will be stimulating, sometimes colliding.

What Obama and Biden (if not born in the night) share is Moon square Pluto, so both are strong personalities. In my article about sharing aspects I wrote:
"….is a challenge for daily life. Two little tyrants wanting to have it their way, to eat their favorite food! But they are a closed front when in trouble. A bit like the Bundies! "
We are talking about politicians here. Pluto is the planet of politics and strategy. They do not have to live together. And together they are strong! Like the Bundies:) And that reminds me of JFK and LBJ, who both had Moon biquintile Pluto. Politicians might need that aspect:)

One of the better things in the relationship between the two charts is the Sun of Biden on the MC of Obama, so that his life (Biden's) and Obama's goals and position go together (of course, whatever happens:).

Obama, in short, is a popular, concerned worker in the public field, an idealist with a strong personality (Moon-Pluto) who wants to break free or change laws and status quo. Biden is an activist (a fighter) and democrat who wants to be a rebel and make changes, too. They are in a way complementary. Obama is the idealist/visionary and Biden is the person who does the implementation.

MCCAIN AND PALIN

His Sun is inconjunct hers. That could make it difficult for them to 'shine' when they are together. They don't match when it really comes to it and the might live their lives and do their things their own way in a sort of a living together, apart:)

McCain's Sun is trine her Midheaven if she is born at 16:40 hours. And he certainly brought her fame and glory. The strange thing is that her Neptune is square the Ascendant of Barack Obama!

What joins them - whatever hour of birth! - is a quick mind (Mercury-Uranus; both have a creative biquintile of Mercury and Uranus) and a hot temper in control (Mars-Saturn-Uranus). He has Mars square Uranus, she has the quindecile; he has Mars biquintile Saturn, she has Mars conjunct Saturn. This combination means that they have extraordinary powers of resistance. They are both strong and able to deal with a lot of pressure.
Sarah's nickname is 'barracuda'...They will be fighting the status quo together, but they will also be popular together and stimulate each other (Moon-Jupiter in both charts, for 11: 00 and 16:40). They will go their own way (Sun inconjunct Sun: sort of a living together, apart). Still, with Venus conjunct the composite IC we may count on mutual sympathy, too.

McCain is above all an activist, a fighter with a strong personality (Moon-Pluto!) and he is ambitious (Moon in Capricorn), in an obsessive way (Sun quindecile - 165 d - Saturn), focussed on being a leader in administration, even at his age. The tightest aspect in his chart is Moon opposition Pluto. His experiences in situations of danger of course changed (shaped?) his personality in a dramatic way. BTW: does it really matter that he has a strong and dominating personality? Because so has Obama (Moon square Pluto). And maybe you cannot become a candidate without being persistent. Look at the charts of JFK and LBJ (both Moon biquintile Pluto).

Palin is a bit like Obama. She is an idealist, concerned (working in the public field), like him. She is ambitious and she has a conviction, too. She is very discrete and maybe not the person you think you see. While McCain is the man of action, she is the woman of visions. They are complementary, like the democratic team is.

Chart of Bill Clinton

The chart of Bill Clinton misses the Moon-Jupiter aspect that most of the American Presidents have, but what he shares with them is Mercury conjunct Saturn and Pluto for the strategic mind and the political way to mention facts (or not:). Pluto is rising before his Sun to indicate that he is the kind of man who has a strategy and a policy. In fact, the conjunction of Mercury, Saturn and Pluto define him as a man with a political minded orientation. Even though he was sort of handicapped by Mars-Neptune on the Ascendant, he managed to become and stay the President of the USA. Sun sextile Jupiter and Uranus made him inventive enough. Jupiter quintile Pluto helped him to create success. But boy, Jupiter square Pholus really made it hard not to shoot his own successes.

Mars-Neptune is about the use and abuse of drugs and alcohol but also about affairs. His reputation (MC) will always be handicapped by the affair with Monica Lewinsky. I often wonder how people manage to keep their heads up after such an ordeal, but he does. Maybe that is the key to success and maybe Sun in Leo helps him to be proud.

Is not it nice that Bill Clinton is in Holland, signing books, and now Venus is conjunct his Sun and semi square Venus? Here in Holland we noticed! One thousand persons came for his autograph in their books and were impressed. In the news bulletin some told the public that they consider him the best president the USA ever had. And that is sweet as Venus, is not it?

Bill Clinton was born 19th August 1946 at 8h51 in Hope Arkansas.

Hillary Clinton, Mars-Pluto, Neptune, Mercury-Saturn and elections 2016

Yesterday, I looked at the charts of children who died within 3 days in a fire, and I decided not to publish about it because I can imagine the pain of the parents, still. This week I was studying the chart of an executioner (born August 17, 1988) and I had found the same aspect combination in his chart as in the charts of the children. He has Mars inconjunct Pluto (and Pluto semi square Saturn, by the way, to complete the combination of untimely death). They had Mars square Pluto (and one of these 2 on an angle). Mars-Pluto aspects add stress to work and action and danger to acts. It is also an aspect that symbolizes a strong drive to win (at any cost) and to (have to) defend or protect yourself. In politics it means that there is always a strong (and sometimes dangerous) competition to deal with. Hillary Clinton faces problems now, in March 2015.

Hillary Clinton has Mars conjunct Pluto in her chart. This aspect is square Venus.
That means intense (Pluto) passion (Venus and Mars). It is the combination of the item of the use and abuse of force, influence or violence (Mars-Pluto) and the money issue (Venus-Pluto). Or a passion (Venus-Mars) for politics, that, too. See the number of examples (just click the label 'Venus Mars Pluto'). There is also a danger in Mars-Pluto (injuries, enemies and ... difficulties with men).

Fact: I read that her husband Bill has a mistress and that he refuses to stop the affair so that his wife has a better chance to become the next president of the USA. That is rather difficult. So is divorce. How about a female President without a husband in 2016? International Women's Day is not celebrated because there is no need to improve women's positions. It is crazy, but a female President with a cheating husband seems to do better in the polls. And her (wide) Venus square Saturn maybe helps her to stick to her man. Quoting my own blog 'Astrology&Love'):

Just an observation: Hillary Clinton has a tight conjunction of Mars and Pluto. Bill Clinton's Mars is angular and Pluto rises right before his Sun. That shows the importance of their political (Pluto) activities (Mars) for both of them.

MERCURY-SATURN for limited communications.
Last week the newspapers reported about Hillary's emails not being sent the correct way while she worked for Obama. Any correspondence is ruled by Mercury, in astrology, and hers is on the Ascendant (if Astrodatabank is correct about her hour of birth), so very important. Saturn - the planet of timing- is exactly square that Mercury so it took some time for the email problem to 'emerge', exactly now that she plans to launch herself as a candidate for the presidency.
It probably won't stop her. She has a strong drive (Mars for drive joining Pluto for force). And Mercury-Saturn isn't bad for politics at all. Her Scorpio Mercury square Saturn is perfect for the politician who uses a communication strategy (which means not telling to much or before it has maximum effect).

There is more in her chart that helps to win elections. Her Moon 112.5 d Jupiter is a help to get support (though it won't be too easy). And how about that 'calling' Jupiter and Sun? FUTURE
Within a year from now (and that is long enough before the elections of 2016) her progressed Sun will be square Neptune and that is bad. It means negative press, scandal and disillusion (dreams not coming true). I don't know in what period of the pre-elections this is and if it will hurt her. Because on November 6, 2016 there are more than 3 good signs in her chart.
1. Transit Jupiter will be square her Sun/Moon and
2. transit Jupiter will be square Progressed Sun and
3. her Progressed Sun is then conjunct her Sun/Moon.
4. Also, transit Jupiter will be square her Mercury
5. and Progressed Sun will be conjunct her Mercury).

That sounds like success or being happy (anyway:).

There is a nice future ahead of Hillary Clinton, but she will have to make it through the secondary progressed Sun square Neptune periode that, if I am not mistaken, started already with the revelations about her private email account being used while she was Secretary of State, with all the risks involved (thinking of Mars-Pluto) and with all the possible doubts and rumors (Neptune!). The best way to deal with negative press and rumors is to keep things clear and open and have no secrets to reveal...The former First Lady has a Scorpio Sun and a Pisces Moon and is likely to be very discrete with this combination.

DOES THE CHART SHOW A PRESIDENT?
There is a 'Presidential potential' (see http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2010/10/leader-in-chart-of-hillary-clinton.html )
 but as always conditions, circumstances, gender, age and (in politics) the attraction of the others make the difference. Just like the Mars inconjunct Pluto aspect in the chart of the executioner doesn't mean that all born with that aspect will become an emotionless killer, the potential in a chart is not predictive. The fact that she is a top politician with influence and many supporters AND the wife of a former President, is the difference between her chart and that of all those who where born on her day of birth, like:

• 1947 – Ricardo Asch, Argentinian gynecologist and endocrinologist (unethical practices in a fertility clinic and attempts to send him out of Mexico in 2010); Jupiter! (calling, for the international)
• 1947 – Ian Ashley, German-English race car driver (dangerous job: racing driver and pilot - had severe crashes); Jupiter! (calling, for the international)
• 1947 – Reg Empey, Irish businessman and politician, Lord Mayor of Belfast (life peer in the House of Lords, no longer active)
• 1947 – Trevor Joyce, Irish poet and scholar (classical Chinese poetry, too); Jupiter! (calling, for the international)

I wonder in what way Progressed Sun square Neptune  and the lucky aspects with Jupiter in the autumn of 2016 will manifest in their charts...It will be different. They don't want to have the number 1 position in Western politics.

Sun inconjunct Saturn is one of the hardest aspects to deal with. It always takes more than just one aspect and charts should always be seen as a whole, related to circumstances, gender, genes and history or culture, but still I find it a difficult aspect.


In the natal chart the Sun inconjunct Saturn is often mirroring a defect, an inability or 'bad luck'.  Use the label inconjunct Saturn to find examples of that.
Transits of Saturn inconjunct Sun and progressions of the Sun inconjunct Saturn sort of makes way to criticism and places you in the position of the 'lame duck'.

A tragic example of Sun inconjunct Saturn between two persons, is the synastry of George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin.

ZIMMERMAN-MARTIN SYNASTRY
The Sun of George Zimmerman (October 5, 1983: it is his Saturn return now) is inconjunct the natal Saturn of Trayvon Martin (February 5, 1995). George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin and ended his life. Not all encounters of Sun-Saturn quincunxes end in such a drama, of course.  If Zimmerman hadn't carried a gun, it hadn't happened at all. The symbol of a gun is Mars.

MARS' ROLE
Mars is the symbol of fire, weapons and injuries.
On February 26, 2012 transit Mars was inconjunct the natal Sun of Trayvon Martin.
On February 26, 2012 the progressed Sun of Trayvon Martin was opposition the natal Mars of George Zimmerman.
It is as if there was a conspiracy of the stars to bring those men close together with a weapon at reach. Even without hours of birth and more transits and progressions to consider, it is obvious that Mars (aggression, weapons, injuries) was an issue between the men at that time and moment.

The leader in the chart of Hillary Clinton

The hour of birth of Hillary Clinton is still a well kept secret and Astrodatabank rates this 8:02 a.m. chart as DD: that means that the data are questionable. So what can we rely on when we look at this chart for the day of birth? Her Astro I.D. shows a prominent Sun (for leadership) and a dito Jupiter (for the international). Even without hour of birth we see the basics of success and confidence. Her individual chart and character, her situation and conditions, the historical/cultural context, the progressed chart and transits and lest but not least her marriage to Bill Clinton...this all contributed to the development of Hillary Clinton.

1. We see that the Sun doesn't make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degress and is quintile Saturn. 

That is for the star, the leader and creative manager, drawing attention and being in the center of it somehow...

2. We can be certain that Neptune is the first outer planet rising before the very prominent Sun. 

It means that there is an idealistic approach always and that she doesn't just do 'it' for gain.

3. Jupiter is also ' calling' for the international that she is today.

4. Mercury in Scorpio is tightly square Saturn: she is a strategic communicator, a true politician.

An idealistic leader with fans and followers, who is a strategic communicator....ehmm...perhaps all we need is a prominent Pluto or Saturn for politician or government.

MALE ATTRACTION, VENUS, SATURN, TAURUS AND LIBRA

Attractive modern entertainers and actors, (those males who know and use their appearances), often have the hot planet Venus in a cool sign like Virgo or Capricorn. And they have Saturn in aspect with Venus or the Ascendant. We admire them from a distance. Males with closer contacts with women have more placements in Taurus and Libra. Examples? Read on...

Take Obama. Barack Obama is good looking. His prominent Venus (square Aries Point) is sesquisquare his Ascendant. He is however not 'cool or sexy' in his behaviour. He does not earn a living with being beautiful, does he? Not like Brad Pitt does, or one of the James Bonds. The James Bond actors all have indications for the strong, cool man (Pluto, Saturn, Capricorn, Mars-Saturn). One of the Bonds, Sean Connery has Saturn on the Ascendant in Capricorn, even.

The beauties among the men have the same cool appearance and know how to link beauty or appearance to business (ASC or Venus with Saturn).Brad Pitt has Moon and Venus in Capricorn (for being 'cool'), Justin Timberlake has Venus in Capricorn in mutual reception with Saturn. Robert Redford has a Pisces Ascendant AND Saturn in the first house. Robert de Niro has Venus in Virgo, opposition Saturn.

COOL IN POLITICS
JFK had Venus trine Ascendant and the Moon in Virgo. That was cool and charming enough and people found him attractive. There was no connection with Saturn. He did not make a living thanks to his looks.

THEORY AND PRACTICE
It seemed to be a nice theory. Then I noticed the charts of GWB and Bill Clinton. Did women find George W. Bush attractive, I wonder, with Saturn on his Ascendant ('cool')? Or did his status attribute to the reactions of the ladies? George W. Bush is not ugly and he is distant enough to be cool and under control.

Bill Clinton however, did not have any cool aspects or signs. His name will always be named together with the name of Monica Lewinsky and cigars. Taurus and Libra are the diplomatic and nice signs. Taurus and Libra are sensual signs.

We admire the beauty and charms of those who are on the screen and beyond reach. In the beginning of the (soundless) movies, it was important to demonstrate feelings and passion. A cool person would not have impressed the public in those days. Drama and over-acting was needed because the expression was all they had to tell the story. In a love story, it was needed to see the warmth and the passion! That is why they had a Taurus + Libra Valentino, for example.

VALENTINO, TAURUS AND LIBRA
Rudolfo Valentino, the sexy man in the age of the silent movie, was not cool at all. He had Venus in Gemini, Moon in Libra and Libra Ascendant. In his movies you see him melt away all women just by looking into their eyes. That is what happens when Venus/Mars is in aspect with Zero Aries and Ascendant...passion!

There is a lot of good taste, love and sweetness in his chart. Venus is right between Jupiter and Pluto for success with the ladies. There are no positions in fire signs. Mars is in Cancer, conjunct Jupiter in the tenth house. When he was a teenage boy he tried to become a soldier but his chest was too small...

For romance we find Moon in Libra trine Neptune. He is good looking and charming and seems to be romantic at first sight. Venus in Gemini made him marry twice. The first time the marriage lasted one night only. The lady was a lesbian. He was not divorced yet when he tried to get married for the second time. He was arrested for bigamy!

Declinations (parallel/contra parallel)

This is a sort of a follow up on declinations. I wrote about Out of Bounds positions earlier (http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2014/01/out-of-bounds.html ). There I explained what declination and OOB is. Now I want to brainstorm a bit about parallel and contra parallel aspects. How to find these aspects? Well, go to Astro.com, select the Additional Tables. Every Sun, Moon, MC, Ascendant and planet has a declination degree, minute and second and a position S (South) or N (North). Use a 16' orb and try to find those positions that come close (for example 23d50m10sN and 24d02m06sN) or those positions in contra parallel (like 23d50m10sS and 24d02m06sN). Is there any contra parallel in your chart, than ask yourself: am I aware that this aspect is important for me? I think that contra parallels are not so obvious as parallels are, just like they are not so obvious from the point of view of one of the objects. But first I want to show you some examples.

On August 4, 1961 POTUS Barack Obama was born. On the same day, in my country, two persons were born who make their living by means of communications. That day, there was a beautiful parallel combination in the sky: Mercury 20gr41m48s N, Jupiter 20gr35m24N and Pluto 20gr34m1sN. Mercury, Jupiter and Pluto made 'common aspects, too: Mercury opposite Jupiter and quintile Pluto. So, there is a double combination to indicate a big amount of words, success by communications and the possibility of earning money singing, writing, negotiating or speaking. The declination aspects support the usual aspects. Obama, as an extra, has Moon parallel Descendant AND trine Jupiter for popularity. That made me think about other American top politicians. Did they have such parallel, too? And how about others?

1. Hillary Clinton’s probable Descendant is parallel Mars 

2. Bill Clinton has Mars parallel Ascendant (Hillary and Bill mirroring each other!) and a parallel conjunction of Uranus, Pluto and MC. Jupiter is parallel Chiron.

3. George W. Bush: Uranus parallel Node.

4. John F. Kennedy had Venus parallel Southern Node and MC parallel Saturn (plus Saturn conjunct MC). 

5. Amanda Knox: Sun contra parallel Neptune in the 8th house of life and death

6. Bill Cosby: Sun contra parallel Jupiter 
7. Dominique Strauss Kahn: Jupiter parallel Descendant; Sun, Mars and Saturn parallel 

8. Tour de France biker Joop Zoetemelk: Jupiter parallel MC and Uranus + Pluto parallel Ascendant. Jupiter, Pluto and Uranus have key positions in the chart, too.

This mix makes you see that it is not easy to find the meaning of parallel and contraparallel aspects in a way that it shows you the person's life or career. Cafe Astrology tried to interpret the parallels (and contra parallels as well) (http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/declinationsparallels.html ). Most sites and books say that a parallel is like a conjunction and a contra parallel is like an opposition. Is it? I think that the parallel and contra parallel (not conscious) aspects support the existing most important aspects and placements, for good or bad. And I keep thinking. For example about my own Sun/MC trine Pluto, with Sun parallel Midheaven and both contra parallel Pluto, in combination with Moon contra parallel Uranus. Usually Pluto is considered to be a difficult symbol. But now that we know that icy Pluto has a big heart, could we see Pluto as a courageous, brave and defending symbol too? That is according the sign that Pluto 'rules': Scorpio, a water sign. Pluto has fluid, Pluto has ice, Pluto is warm inside... Maybe after the progressed Mars inconjunct Pluto that is exact in my chart next week, I will let you know...

Hillary Clinton's Progressed Moon declination and going up

The declination degree of the progressed Moon seems to indicate the level of your personal position, especially when the progressed Moon is Out of Bounds (what is that? See it here: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2014/01/out-of-bounds.html ).

In January 2016 the progressed Moon of Donald Trump reached her highest degree in declination. From then on, the Moon descended. An earlier study of mine showed that your most popular years are the 4 years before the progressed Moon’s highest position in declination and that the year after that highest point usually is the most difficult one. It is like descending steep stairs and knowing that it will take a long time to reach that level again.

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s progressed Moon, however, is at a rather low level, but going upwards. Husband Bill’s progressed Moon is about to reach top level this year. The lowest position of the progressed Moon is reserved for retirement, stepping back and taking a brake, sometimes to prepare yourself for ‘climbing’, like Hillary Rodham Clinton did when she didn't show herself as much as to be expected in the first weeks and months after her nomination.

I am going down, unfortunately, since early this year and that is fully understandable if you knew my situation. Earlier, my health seemed to be improving and I was looking forward to a nice couple of years with husband, family and dog. Now I know that any hope for those years was in vain and I hope to spend the few years (?) left as good as I can.

Her announcement was on April 12, 2015, with the progressed Moon in the 8^th degree North, opposition her natal Moon declination degree. Then it is June 6, with the progressed Moon in the 1^st degree South. Wikipedia writes:

“By June 6, 2016, she had earned enough pledged delegates and supportive superdelegates for the media to consider her the presumptive nominee.^[428] The next day, Clinton became the first woman to claim the status of presumptive nominee for a major American political party."

Her progressed Moon was rising again!

Sun in a starring role

The Sun is a star. When you have an important Sun, you may want to play the starring role. I wrote about the dominating sun before and gave examples of people with a 'calling' Sun.

 (a Sun without major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees), like: 

- Roseanne Barr (see the chart and the story on my other blog, Art&Astrology, 
- Adolf Hitler, 
- Hillary Clinton, 
- J.F. Kennedy, 
- John Lennon and 
- Youssouf Islam (Cat Stevens)

They and many others will want to draw attention or be in the center of it all, anyhow, somehow. They will be the leader (of the band) or the star. When you are born with the sun in a starring role, you will shine and be in the spotlights even as a minister. Jim Bakker also has a 'calling' Sun. He drew attention! So had Mao Tse Tung (Mao Ze-dong). His dictatorship was in the natal chart: calling Sun quintile Saturn for the creative way to be the sole leader at any possible level.

There are more ways to draw attention than just by being you, being proud and showing leadership (or being bossy:). With a Sun on the Ascendant you won't enter a party unnoticed. A conflict with Uranus will certainly cause upheaval sometimes. Neptune may be so confusing that a person with (temporary or natal) conflicts with Neptune almost certainly will be subject to gossip. A Moon in Leo will draw attention, by having the manners of a queen (or king). The Leo Sun and Ascendant naturally show off:). And a Leo Sun/Moon midpoint is very motivated to be in the center of attention, too. But no one will manage to be the star, as there can be only one in our solar system: the Sun.

You need not be a star or a leader when you have a 'calling' Sun, but people tend to see you. Leadership doesn't acquire a 'calling' Sun, always.  Bill Clinton was the leader of the USA and his Sun is sextile Jupiter and not angular. George W. Bush has the square between Sun and Jupiter. The present President of the USA is Barack Obama and his Sun is square Neptune. It takes more than 'drawing attention' to become a leader and to become one, you don't need to draw attention all the time or be a star (in whatever).
However, if your Sun is 'calling' you may want to be 'on stage' somehow, anyhow, even if your sun is in a modest enough sign.

When two persons with dominating Suns meet, one of the two may have to surrender. It is like two Alpha wolves fighting for leading the troop! This is especially nasty if there is no other place to go, or if you are married to each other. Who is the boss?
