MERCURY IN ASTROLOGY

MERCURY AT WORK

Mercury is the planet of communications, transportation and moving. Mercury is also the planet of information, the messenger. Here is some information that I collected about the way Mercury, sometimes, works.

1. Messages
On the 6th January 2007 Stanislav Wielgus was in all newspapers. He was the arch bisshop of Warsawa (Poland), born 23 Arpil 1939 with a Taurus Sun and Moon in Gemini. Saturn oriental and calling: he is a conservative person, hierarchy first and carefull, if not scared. Mercury did not make any aspect in sign as well, so Mercury was calling, too. That is telling us about the importance of communicating and messages in his life (Gemini Moon and Mercury calling!). And that is exactly what he did. In 2007 it became known that he was an informer for the communists in his country at the time. And was rewarded for that (in position).

2. Telling tales
On 20th December 2006 we saw David Irving in the news papers. He was denying the Holocaust and recently released from prison. In February the judge sentenced him for 3 years in prison, even though he eventually admitted that he believed the Holocaust. Too late!
In his chart (March 24, 1938) we see Mercury inconjunct Neptune for being blind for the facts sometimes...

3. For writing and mental illnesses
Maarten Biesheuvel is a Dutch author. In early 2007 he received a prize for his works (about 60.000 euros). Maarten Biesheuvel suffered from depression all of his life and spent lots of time in psychiatric hospitals. His Moon is strong in Cancer and receives hard aspects coming fromt Mars, Saturn and Pluto (indicating a destructive desire). His Mercury is conjunct Uranus and Zero Aries in his birth chart and Aries Point is connected with the midpoints of Sun/Saturn, Sun/Pluto and Sun/Mars. So his mental state was communicated.

4. Miscommunications
2nd November 2006: John Kerry made a bad joke about American soldiers in Iraq with Uranus square progressed Mars. In his birth chart he has Mercury square Neptune (oriental) and that makes it rather easy to say (Mercury) the wrong (Neptune) things.

5. Transport
11th October 2006: CORY LIDLE crashed with his private plane. The NY pitcher (22 March 1972 Hollywood) had a good year (Progressed Sun trine Jupiter) and travelled a lot. But transit Neptune semi square Sun might have confused him. In his birth chart we see a.o. Mercury opposition Uranus and semi square Saturn for a blocked motorised transport.

6. Rapping
Lange Frans (Tall Fransis) is a Dutch rapper. Rappers usually talk quickly and swiftly. That is just asking for Mecury rising and calling and that is what Lange Frans got. He was born on November 12, 1980 with Mercury making no aspects at all and rising before the Sun. That is a statement for a call for being a messager. Besides he has Sun conjunct Uranus for wanting to change the world or being a rebel. And that helps with rapp.

7. Names
Freddy Mercury was born with Mercury on the Ascendant. Just check it below. Ascendant symbolises 'representing one self'. An artist's name is for representing yourself . And Mercury in this case is Freddie.

NEPTUNE AND HOW IT WORKS

Neptune works! Watch this:

- animal lovers often have an aspect between Sun and Neptune. But an affliction (in transit or progression) sometimes brings animals into the house that you sure won't welcome:)
- too much water (leakage, being incontinent or tears)...Neptune!
- smelly cellars or delicious perfums...Neptune!
Neptune can fade away friendships and undermine fundations. Neptune is the symbol of what is FAKE, the trick, the picture and the movie.

Neptune makes you cross borders and step over them. That is why dreamers, idealists, rolling stones, distant travellers, and users of certain drugs are all part of the Neptune-thing. I know a person who stepped out of bed in the night and his dog took his place in bed. He came back and decided to take the couch! Neptune is unlimited love and adoration. Visions, fantasies and creative thinking...Neptune! And everything that is secret and hidden...also part of the myth and the symbol of Neptune. Ne-ptune might be ne-gative. For example when alcohol is abused or used witout limits or when you are part of a media hype against you (because gossip = fantasy and...Neptune, yes!).

Seduction is Neptunic, because Neptune is also romance. Romance, really, is not true, I am afraid. It is what you make of it. Media and mediums are also Neptunic. If you cannot touch it, feel it or grab it, if is amorph and immaterial...it is Neptune. Scandals are part of this planet's meaning, because what is scandal in one place is nothing elsewhere. Scandal is what you make of it. Sensitivity and empathy are Neptunic, as you just could not point a finger on the effect. It is there, but what is it? If there would be a scientific explanation, it would not be Neptunic. But as long as there is no, yes, it is Neptune working!

Can you imagine that Neptune related to Mercury causes misunderstandings and fabulous stories?
Or that secret actings and acts could be related to Mars with Neptune?

An overdosis of Neptune makes you naive, weak and overly sensitive. You might start copying your friends' behavious or say what the other does not want to mention. Neptune might turn you into a mental sponge.

In November of 2007 a Dutch comedian sort of 'imitated' an elderly singer, pretending that she drank too much. She could not laugh about it at all (as Saturn is oriental in her chart of June 7 1942). The comedian (Paul de Leeuw) started this persiflations in 2002! And kept going on, in spite of her anger and pleas. When he started it she had progressed Sun semi square Neptune. He had progressed Sun opposition progressed Neptune. And in 2007 she had transit Netpune opposition progressed Sun and he had transit Neptune semi square Sun. You see how Neptune works! She is being shown in a negative way and the ultimate effect for him is negative, too (as people generally donot like teasers).

In combination with Jupiter, Neptune works as the immaterial and unlimited part of the convictior or Jupiter brings successes in the field of Neptune. So that popes and monks have the Jupiter-Neptune influence in their charts, but so have those with 'followers and fans'. IN MEMORY OF MARTIN LUTHER KING who died 4th April 1968

Today, 40 years ago, Martin Luther King was murdered. He was born January 15, 1929 at about 12 (noon, really, A-rating Astrodatabank) in Atlanta. On the 28th August 1963 he said he had a dream and that was with transit Neptune (symbol of ideals and dreams) opposition his ascendant.

He died April 4, 1968 at 18:01 EST in Memphis. The killer was James Earl Ray, born May 10, 1929 in Alton, Illinois. He had Mars 'calling' (not making any major aspect in sign, signifying agression and action at any possible level) and he had that Mars inconjunct Saturn. That prominent Mars of James Earl Ray was spot on the IC (symbol of life ending) in the chart of ML King...

On his dying day the progressed Mars of King was inconjunct his natal Sun. his progressed Moon on the progressed IC and Sun Arc Uranus conjunct his Ascendant. Sun Arc Ascendant was tightly square the midpoint of transit Uranus and transit Pluto. Transit Pluto was within one degree of orb square his natal Mars.

Transit Neptune was inconjunct the progressed Sun and the progressed Saturn of Ray, who's progressed Saturn was at 27d15 Sagittarius. That was very close to the progressed Descendant of Martin Luther King (watch the drawing below). g hieronder).

The progressed Ascendant of Martin Luther King was at 26d04 Gemini, with progressed Mars at 25d07. We may assume that Mars was actually conjunct the Ascendant or right in between the aspect with Mars and Saturn (combination of death) at 27d01. Notice that Saturn rules the eight house of death in the progressed chart and is in the natal eigth house of death. In the birth chart Saturn is semi sextile the Sun.

ASTRO I.D.
Martin Luther King was of course more than his death. But in his chart (here below) you see the importance of it. Saturn (in eight) is rising before the Sun, pointing at a certain orientation (influence of the parents, hierarchy, management etc.). But the Sun is the most important object in his chart. The Sun is conjunct the MC and 'calling'. This indicates crucial leadership at any possible level. Ten combinations of midpoints show the level of succes.

But there is more...Uranus is also 'calling'. And that completes the theme of limtited freedom and the resistance (Saturn-Uranus). .

NOT GUILTY: HARADINAJ: Jupiter trine his Pluto

Jupiter is precisely today trine the position of Pluto on July 3, 1968, the day that Ramush Haradinaj, ex-prime minister of Kosovo, was born. More over Jupiter and Uranus are both inconjunct the progressed Sun and Mars of Haradinaj (read: a relief with certain consequences). Though he was found not guilty, this was only because of lack of evidence. The inconjunct with Uranus points at tensions.

JERRY SEINFELD,the scary crash...and the predictions for Taurus

When you crash, often Uranus is involved. When you realise just how lucky you are, mostly Jupiter is there. And the combination of Jupiter and Uranus signifies: relief.

So does it surprise you that writer, comedian and famous Jerry Seinfeld (born 29th April 1954 at about 6 a.m. in NY) has Jupiter conjunct MC and opposition Uranus right now? He crashed as his old timer did not seem to have functioning brakes, but he came out unharmed. This might be a life changing experience, as his progressed Sun is changing sign and opposition transit Pluto (stating: my life is in danger!). As it happens, there are also problems with a law suit for plagiarism.

I just checked back what I predicted for Taurus and notice that it seems to fit:
"TAURUS 2008
A year of mixed feelings
It will be a mobile year for Taurus. They may travel, move, change job... And all the time they have to say goodbye to persons or places. Jupiter in Capricorn will be helpful and sends you a wise advice. But it will not just be that what makes 2008 a better year than 2007! The Taurus born between April 20 and May 11 can thank Saturn. That planet will increase the respect that they get, make their lives more stable and the people around you will appreciate and value you. The young ones will be valued by parents and teachers more than before.

The best periods to have a good vacation will be in May or August.
Famous Taurus Michael Palin (born 5th May 1943 at 11h45) must take care when travelling around this year and certainly not exaggerate anything.

My message for those born around April 21 and age about 53: Uranus might cause surprises and changes you were not waiting for, particularly in summer, when you are asked to be even more careful with motors, electricity and tensions. It might also be love that will be exciting."
