Sun trine Neptune, dogs, rescues and Presley

More than once I have seen Sun trine Neptune in the charts of people who are very close to their dogs. One personal example: my grandfather had Sun trine Neptune. One night he stepped out of bed. When he got back, the dog had taken his place. He didn't mind, he took a chair!

EMPATHY
Neptune is the symbol of empathy. The trine between Sun and Neptune had his effect in the chart of Paul Rusesabagina, born 15th June 1954. As the manager of the hotel Rwanda he saved about 1200 people (Hutu and Tutsi) out of the hands of cruel criminals during the civil war. He has Sun/Jupiter and Sun/Mars on Aries Point (symbolizing success) and Sun trine Neptune is the tightest aspect in his chart (for being idealistic or helpfull). I wrote in the post 'Mars at War':
"It seems Sun trine Neptune (empathy!) was showing the right way...". Heroic actions often are based upon empathy.

SUN TRINE NEPTUNE AND ELVIS PRESLEY
I know of another person with Sun trine Neptune in his chart. He just cannot imagine life without having a dog around. He also says that the dog helps him when he is sad and strongly feels with him.

Maybe you have your own examples of the effect of Sun trine Neptune related to animals. I have one for you: Elvis Presley. BIRTH CHART OF ELVIS PRESLEY

Elvis Presley was born January 8, 1935 in Tupelo at 4u35 CST a.m. I understand much more about the man and his chart since I interprete charts using ‘prominent planets’. The most prominents in his chart are Moon, Jupiter and Neptune. Read and see for yourself what that means…Why now? Transit Jupiter is conjunct his Sun:)

FAME AND TALENT
Jupiter, dispositor of the ascendant, is the oriental planet (the planet that rises before the Sun)in the birth chart of Elvis Presley. Neptune is on top of this chart. These prominent planets make a small trine, together with the Sun. The aspect of Sun and Jupiter is the tightest aspect in the chart (apart from the Inconjunction of Saturn and Pluto). The Sun is square the midpoint Jupiter/Neptune.

The combination of Sun, Jupiter and Neptune points at succeeding in immaterial matters such as religion, media, and movies. A prominent Jupiter indicates the international (the traveller or publisher) and Neptune on top tells us that Elvis Presley was above all an artist and romantic/idealistic.

There are more clues for fame. In the midpoints (range of 22.5 degree etc.) I see at least 20 combinations for fame, among which Jupiter 157.5 Venus/Pluto and semi square Pluto/Ascendant. Other clues: Venus quintile Jupiter and opposition Pluto. In both cases the dispositor of the Ascendant (Jupiter, ruler 1) is involved.

At the moment that the world remembered that is was 30 years ago that he died, transit Jupiter was on his progressed MC for a positive reputation.

MUSIC AND MOVIES
His musical activities can be traced back to:
Venus sesquisquare Neptune
And
Venus square Uranus.

That is not different from the charts of Dutch singers and international diva’s, I found. You can read about it (only in Dutch right now) starting here.

His Moon in Pisces does not make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees and I consider that to be a ‘calling’ Moon. The Moon is in the 3rd house of communications. This all indicates an urgent need to broadcast romantic messages at any level. THe Moon in Pisces suggests a desire to pretend...the big pretender (...).

Neptune’s square with the Ascendant confirms seclusion and being shy, as well as the wrong image of himself that he gave. Like actors do…

Now think of the combination of these three most prominent Moon, Jupiter and Neptune. I have written in my book Astro Trio that one of the possible interpretations of this combination is having success as an artist or female (Moon) believers, fans and followers (Jupiter-Neptune.

C.V.
In 1953 Elvis recorded his first song and a year later his career as a singer started (he used to be a truck driver). In 1953 he had progressed Midheaven square Sun and semi sextiel Jupiter. In 1952 Uranus transited his Sun, and Jupiter followed in August 1953, when his song became a hit. Then his Ascendant changed sign, and so did his environment.

In the later years of his life Elvis Presley grew fat by eating bunch loads of bananas and peanut butter. And by using big amounts of medications, supplied by a ‘doctor’ who had his complete and naive trust. You know that Sagittarius, Pisces and Scorpio are good signs for obesities. Elvis had the Ascendant in Sagittarius, the ruler Jupiter in Scorpio, Venus (ruler 6) opposition Pluto and that calling Moon in Pisces for calling needs for abundance. A number of weaknesses lead him to an early death.

RELATIONS
Priscilla Presley says she had a mostly platonic marriage, but nevertheless they had a baby together. It is obvious that the birth charts of Elvis and Priscilla (born May 24, 1945, 22h40 NY) did not match. Interesting is that in her chart Neptune is on top, just like in Elvis’s. So they shared something, they held romance, ideal and dream high. The couple also shared the aspect ‘Sun trine Neptune’, another indication for the importance of dreams, romance and …music. I guess that that is what brought them together. Elvis does not seem to have had other relationships with women.

He did have indications for divorce or for ‘never marrying a woman’. There are 4 of such indications in a male’s chart. They are: afflictions between Moon and Saturn or Neptune, Venus and Neptune or Mars and Uranus. Elvis had Mars quindecile Uranus and Venus sesquisquare Neptune. Minor indications, not immediately visible but they are present in his chart! Also having Mars in Libra is hardly pleasant in a marriage. They separated in 1972 when transit Saturn entered his seventh house. It seems that he had a ‘romantic’ idea once to kill Priscilla’s lover (Venus opposition Pluto: all or nothing in love…), but he did not do it. From that moment on Elvis star went down.

DEATH
When he died we see this:

Progressive Sun altered sign
Transit Pluto (in his natal chart in the 8th house) is conjunct Mars
Transit Saturn inconjunct progressive Ascendant
Transit Neptune square progressed Neptune

In fact, he was ill a long time before. In 1975, transit Saturn was conjunct the Sun and the progressed Ascendant, while Jupiter was square Sun. In 1977 Jupiter was also square progressed Sun. Transit Neptunus in 1975/1976 crossed the Ascendant. In July of 1976 his father dismissed all of the personnel (progressed Mercurius conjunct Saturn and inconjunct Pluto) and his former staff wrote a book motioning all of his weaknesses.

Elvis Presley had Saturn inconjunct Pluto*) in the eight house of life and death. He was having a hard time avoiding death and keeping an exhausting life style at the same time. Saturn inconjunct Pluto is the combination for the disadvantages of fanatics, when health is concerned and the Inconjunction shows that there is a mismatch in controlling yourself. Sometimes people with this aspect combination go on and on disregarding signs of exhaustion or pain. In the case of Elvis Presley he did not seem to listen to any warning or sing, not even to the mirror. The combination of having Moon (for needs) and Jupiter+Neptune (the expending planets) prominent made him vulnerable for eating way too much. And there was not a soul around who could stop him, even they wanted too.

STUCK IN OLD PATTERNS AND IN THE HOUSE
Notice the inconjunction of Saturn and Uranus with the MC! The planets make a Yod with the Midheaven. Saturn in aspect with Uranus point at being stuck (mind or body) in old patterns. And sometimes people with a very prominent Saturn – Uranus theme in their charts end up in a cellar or a prison cell. Elvis Presley created his own limited area and ate like he did when he was a kid.

CONCLUSION
Elvis Presley was above all a succesful ‘dream’, a man on stage, an artist with an uncontrolled need for romance, privacy and ‘more’, who ignored warnings. He was also a man with a temper and with musical talents. He was all that and you can see it in his chart. In fact, he IS still a beloved and admired person. Watch his fan sites...There are even people who do not believe that he died and they keep hoping that they will see him again one day. That is the effect of being an idol. As he is not real (Neptune on top) he stayes alive in everybody's imagination. As a kid I saw 'Blue Hawaii' and it is that movie that makes me want to go there one day...

Progressed chart of last day of Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley died 33 years ago. Had he still lived, he would have been 75 now. The birth chart with transits and progressions of his last day (scroll down) and the progressed chart for August 16, 1977 (above) tell us about the circumstances. This post is about his death, with links (incl. quotes) to posts about his talent, the T-square in his chart and the relationship with his manager.


DEATH
When he died his progressed Sun had just entered Pisces. When the progressed Sun changes sign often life style or life itself changes and sometimes people with a progressed  sun sign changing pass on to ‘ another life’.  There are a few interesting transits and progressions on the day of his death. They include the eight house of life and death, the twelfth of isolation and the fourth of endings. The most important planets involved are Pluto, Saturn and Neptune. Here is a list:

• Transit Pluto is sextile natal Ascendant (an easy way out to transformation) and conjunct natal Mars. Pluto is in the 8^th house of life and death in the natal chart and rules the progressed Ascendant.
• Transit Saturn just left the eight Placidus house and is about to be inconjunct the progressed Ascendant. When Saturn leaves a house, there is often a present left behind, but (inconjunct) in this case something was taken away.
• Transit Neptune was near the Ascendant (the conjunction was in the months before his death). Neptune rules the 4^th house (of going back home) and is the symbol of weaknesses, confusion, isolation. Neptune also rules drugs, dope and medication.  Neptune is elevated in his chart. That illustrated the importance of music as well as of drugs.
• The progressed Sun had just been quindecile Neptune for  a period of strong focus on isolation, medication and drugs. This period had not improved his health...
• In the progressed chart ruler 8 is Mercury and Mercury is inconjunct Pluto (the ruler 8 of the natal chart). Pluto is close to the descendant in the progressed chart. It is the reflection of extraordinary mental problems.
• And last but not least: in the progressed chart the Sun was conjunct Saturn to illustrate the end of an era (and seeing your mistakes, faults and limitations).

It is the combination of transits and progressions, natal chart and personal circumstances/genes/gender that ' does it', always.  Neptune for drifting off, Saturn for deficiency and Pluto as one of the symbols for danger (in the same short period of time) were together mirroring the disastrous situation of the addicted and overweight star. 


More observations:

• Transit Jupiter was inconjunct Venus (statement for too much to be good for you and extraordinary popularity with a ‘but’)…
• The progressed Moon is trine the Sun and half sextile the Northern Node (being in the spotlight in the community)
• Transit Node is square natal Sun (unhealthy company)
• There are a two (soon perfecting) applying narrow trines in the progressed chart: Mercury trine Mars and Venus trine Jupiter. Venus is also quintile Pluto. Like in more such cases, the success (Jupiter/Pluto) came back after death.

Chart of Elvis Presley (the T-square with Uranus)

Elvis Presley was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo and would have been 75 today if he hadn't died when he was only 42 years old. There are several posts with his name in it on this blog, including his chart. They are HERE.. What more can I say about his chart that I have not said before? Well, I found one thing that I have not mentioned earlier: the T-square with Uranus in 5. The T-square is very important for his status and career. The T-square is strongly related to Midheaven. The most important player in the T-square, Uranus (dispositor of the 3rd house of communications), is inconjunct Midheaven from the 5th house of pleasure, (pro)creativity and entertainment. That is a statement for a unique, very special and unbalancing position in the field of show and fun, connected to his voice.

T-SQUARE AND FOCAL PLANET URANUS IN 5
The T-square of Venus (conjunct Mercury) opposition Pluto square Uranus. The T-square has Uranus in the middle, positioned in the 5th house of pleasure, show, games and entertainment. This position of Uranus might be the key to the fact that he was ORIGINAL and UNIQUE in the field. Uranus is disposing of the 3rd house of communications (the voice). Uranus is inconjunct the Midheaven. That is reflecting misbalance related to the way that he was unique in the field of entertainment, using his voice.

The complete T-square is in aspect with Midheaven..
The composition of Mercury, Venus, Uranus and Pluto makes me think of a ‘ radical’ in communicating about arts and love affair. There are more ways to read this combination.
- Communication problems (Mercury-Pluto) with love affairs and falling in love (Venus-Uranus)
- Revolutionary (Uranus-Pluto) communication talents Mercury-Venus)
- Controversial ideas (Mercury-Uranus) about money (Venus-Pluto)

But we know that Uranus is the focal planet in the T-square and that the only way to read this is:
- Suddenly (Uranus) earning money (Venus and Pluto combination) with his voice (Mercury).
The challenging problem is the inconjunction with Midheaven, coming from the house of pleasures. He had too much ‘ fun’ and died too young. But he also would not have been the famous Elvis, however ‘disproportional’ the status might have been (and in fact still is).

With the oriental Jupiter and the ‘ calling’ Moon in Pisces and Neptune on top (and Moon semi square Jupiter/Neptune) and you see the idol and the many female fans, too. See you next year, same day with more details about the chart of Elvis Presley.

Elvis Presley, chart of life and death

On August 16, 1977 Elvis Presley died. It was with transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Ascendant and transit Neptune conjunct natal Ascendant. Progressed Sun - the sun had just recently changed sign!- had been quindecile natal Neptune and conjunct progressed Saturn. There is more (see the post, link below) but you may notice a lot of Saturn and Neptune already. Saturn-Neptune is the combination of illnesses.

The pattern of talent is in the Moon in Pisces and ruler Neptune sesquisquare Venus, with Venus rocking with Uranus (square). Venus-Uranus-Neptune combinations are frequent in the charts of pop singers. How to read this? A hype in popularity? Sense of rhythm and modern art? Does it matter? Because it is so easy to see that this is a popular man! Moon is 'calling', Jupiter rises before the Sun and Neptune is elevated. Moon with Jupiter and Neptune just needs the public and vice versa. The small trine of Jupiter and Neptune with the Sun points at the 'devoted audience'. This small trine is a prominent small trine because of the positions of Jupiter and Neptune. Other indications for fame and money are Venus quintile Jupiter and opposition Pluto with Jupiter 157.5 Venus/Pluto. Here is the chart:

Chart of colonel Tom Parker, Quaoar and Elvis

Remember Colonel Tom Parker, who was in fact Dries van Kuijk, a Dutchman who left his past and family behind when he moved to the USA? This post is about the chart of Tom Parker, that you can see when you scroll down. In short, Tom Parker was a man with a lot of self confidence leading to success and a focuss on money, power and influence who had difficult personal relations (and was not very popular). He also had a talent for being a manager. He was the manager of Elvis Presley. The singer and his manager influenced each other's lives. It is easy to see in the synastry between their charts...

SYNASTRY

Tom Parker's Quaoar*) is precisely inconjunct the Sun of Elvis. Elvis created a completely new world for Tom Parker, who had Quaoar trine Midheaven. But there was little balance in the way that the new world of Tom Parker was connected to the life and lifestyle of Elvis.

QUAOAR AND URANUS
Elvis’ talents made him a millionaire. Tom Parker used to say that it was his influence that made Elvis a millionaire. Of course, he was important at the start of Elvis' career. Fact is, that the Ascendant/MC of Elvis is square the Midheaven of Tom Parker. That shows us how the essence of being Elvis was related to the position of Tom Parker. Also Elvis’ Jupiter (symbol of prosperity) is square the natal Quaoar of Tom Parker. That tells us that Elvis had a positive influence in creating a new world for Parker. Elvis' Quaoar receives a trine from Tom Parker's Uranus: that means that Tom Parker was the spark to create Elvis' new world. They changed each other's lives.

NEPTUNE-SUN
Parker's Neptune is opposition the Sun of Elvis. That means that there was little reality in the way that they saw each other. See Cafe Astrology about this synastry aspect....

CHART OF THE COLONEL

Success is written all over Tom Parker's chart! Sun, Jupiter and Pluto are the most important objects. Here is the chart, with the positions on the day of birth of Elvis Presley on the outside.

Tom Parker's Pluto rises before the Sun, reflecting the importance of power and money. Pluto doesn't make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. I use to name that a 'calling' Pluto. The fact that there is no major connection with the rest of the chart allows the planet to function at any kind of level. That important Pluto is quintile the angular Jupiter, the dispositor of Midheaven. It means that he was able to find creative ways to a successful position in society with a focus on money and influence at any possible level. It made him a rich man. The combination of success is prominent in his chart: there are a calling Jupiter, Pluto AND Sun. The unaspected Sun points at leadership and drawing attention.

MANAGEMENT
The Sun is quintile Saturn and Saturn trine MC for drawing attention in a creative way, managing to be in charge in a professional way. The Pluto of Parker is trine the Saturn of Elvis, who had Saturn inconjunct Pluto. Maybe that was a warning for bad influences. The fact that they shared a Saturn-Pluto aspect and that there was a connection between their charts, might point at problems with management and control in general, with Tom Parker stepping into the gap.

COMMUNICATIONS
He also was a good liar and communicator: Mercury makes major and minor aspects with all other positions in the chart, including a 15d distance with the Sun and a binovile with Jupiter, a 75 d aspect with the Ascendant (if the B time of Astrodatabank is correct).

FAMILY
When he emigrated to the USA transit Uranus was square his natal Sun and the progressed Sun was semisquare Jupiter, which is a combination for a positive change. Two years earlier his progressed Sun was conjunct Venus and later square Saturn, so maybe a sad love story made him decide to leave the country and the past behind. But there is another possibility: avoiding military service! Later, in 1948, he was given the honorary title of 'Colonel'.

Well, nobody knows why he was such a secretive person, but the Moon opposition Saturn and square Neptune and Uranus, in the equal eight house mirrors the ill relationship with his relatives. As the Moon is afflicted and in Libra, he would feel the need for company, but there was that wall...(see the post about Moon-Saturn aspects).

QUAOAR
I suppose that he was born 4 to 5 minutes earlier than 11, because when he started to work with Elvis Presley in 1955 the progressed Midheaven was at 2.1 Aquarius in the 11 0'clock chart. A little earlier and transit Chiron would have crossed the Midheaven that recently would have changed sign. It was with the progressed Sun inconjunct Mars, so maybe it was not the best period in life for Tom Parker. The progressed Sun would soon be inconjunct Uranus, too. His life would change in a disproportionate way. But, in April 1954 the progressed Sun was conjunct Quaoar! That is when a new period in his life started, the creation of a brand new world that would bring him into contact with Elvis Presley. He opened a booking agency in Nashville, TN!

Right now, Tom Parker alias Dries van Kuijk has transit Pluto opposition and transit Saturn square natal Sun. Maybe someone is investigating his life story?

BIRTH CHART DOLLY PARTON and PRISCILLA PRESLEY

Poor Priscilla Presley...She is aging (Saturn semi square progressed Saturn) and fighting it (transit Mars conjunct progressed Saturn and transit Saturn square progressed Mars). Pluto is afflicting progressed Ascendant and MC to challenge her to make fundamental changes, and she did. She had her face done by an unlicensed surgeon (says LA Times) and it will have to be done again, better! Pluto is for surgeons when fysical changes are part of the transformation. And for times when strength, force and courage is needed.

Dolly Paton also had surgery and looks incredibly young with an aged neck. A pitty that they cannot lift thát!:) Parton has the same problem as Presley: Saturn! Saturn is semi square her progressed Saturn and conjunct her natal Saturn. She must feel old. And transit Saturn is also inconjunct her progressed Sun. Together with transit Pluto square her progressed Sun and transit Uranus sesqui square the progressed Ascendant this calls for surgery and transformation.

So both felt old and needed a change. Redecorating the house would not change enough, so they redecorated their faces. Dolly will be happy soon enough (transit Venus trine progressed MC)

What do they share, except being famous and having to look good? Data:
Dolly: 19 January 1946 at 20:25 Locust Ridge TN
Priscilla: 24th May 1945 22h40 NY
They share an aspect between Venus and Jupiter (square for Dolly, biquintile for Priscilla). And they share a quindecile (obsession) aspect between Venus and Pluto (165 degrees for Dolly, 105 for Priscilla). Of course their beauty and charm is important for their succes in life and 'who wants to be beautiful, must suffer'. Still, there is a slight difference between a movie star (Presley) and a singer (Parton, also in the charts. Parton has a 'calling'Mercury for communicating and Uranus on top for causing upheavel all the time (like in December, when the audience in Holland found out that she play backed several numbers of her show: transit Uranus!). Priscilla on the other hand has Venus, Mars and Jupiter calling. I look at the unaspected Venus and see that Venus is also oriental (rising before the Sun AND prominent). That makes beauty a real issue...

Famous couple: Elvis and Priscilla Presley

Elvis Presley and Priscilla both have Sun trine Neptune and both have Neptune on top of their charts. Sharing Sun trine the elevated Neptune gives them a sort of a romantic view of life and of each other. He was of course her idol... But her Neptune is inconjunct his Moon and so there is the risk of a lost and no balance in the romantic needs. And did they match? No, they did not.

NO MATCH
Her Sun is in Gemini and his in Capricorn. Venus in Aries (hers) does not easily go with Venus in Capricorn. Her Mars in Aries is opposition his in Libra.

BUT:
- Her Sun is square his Moon. It is a usual Sun-Moon combination. She was the realization of his romantic needs.
- His Sun is trine her Jupiter. When she met him, her progressed Sun was square Jupiter: her life style improved, she was starting to be a success (and his progressed Venus was conjunct his Moon - he fell in love).
- His Sun is square her Mars. Her disproportionate drive to grow and make life better is linked to his life. She stimulated and activated him. His Sun and her Mars were in aspect. Her Sun is semi square Mars - a sign for possible divorce -. This relationship seems to have been 'ment to be'. Just like Sarah and Andrew they seem to have been made to divorce each other:).
- His Mars-Ascendant combination is in aspect with her Uranus and his natal Mars is biquintile his Uranus (a sign for a possible divorce). The relationship was a flaslight relationship that offered the chance for him to be a 'free man' even while married (he had to work:). She was often alone (re: Saturn in the 7th).

Often, when people with indications for possible difficulties in a partnership come together, they have found the right kind of person: the one that offers the opportunity to marry twice, to divorce or to remain alone for the rest of their lives.

PRISCILLA
Priscilla never remarried (but instead she had a long lasting relationship). She has Sun semi square Mars (one of the indications for divorce ub teg cgart if=. Saturn is in her 7th house, trine her Moon ruler 7. She married once. There have been other relationships, but she never married another man. Her Venus (in Aries) and Jupiter are 'calling' (not making major aspects) and they are a biquintile away from each other. This combination expresses a creative way to make more fun. Venus is 105 degrees from Pluto. The Venus-Jupiter-Pluto combination tells us about earning or gaining a lot of money and sympathy. Of course, Priscilla Presley started her own career after the death of Elvis. (That was on August 16, 1977 with transit Pluto trine Priscilla's progressed ASC, followed by progressed Moon opposition Saturn.)

ELVIS
Elvis had two indications for possible divorce: Venus sesquisquare Neptune and Mars-Uranus biquintile. The latter might be indicating that he was creative enough to find another way to be a 'free man'.

CONCLUSION
They didn't match, but they found each other in sharing the same dreams and romantic illusions in the beginning...She married her idol and he married his fan. It could not last for ever. It was their first marriage and both have indications for divorce and/or difficulties in marriage in their natal charts. Her Uranus on his descendant says enough: it was a flash light exiting relationship. And the batteries ran out of power.

Love and Venus in the progressed chart

When love is in the air, love is in the sky above. This must be the conclusion when you see the examples of charts  in times of marriage or divorce. Venus is the symbol of love. And love has many faces. So it is not surprising to see all kinds of aspects with progressed Venus or progressed aspects with natal or progressed Venus when there are changes in love life, wether it is the beginning or the end of a relationship. (And of course: there are other astrological ways to get married, for example with progressed sunsigns changing). 

• Sun-Venus seems to point at love life and sometimes at the ‘love of your life’. 
• Moon-Venus is for falling in love (and being in the mood for love). 
• Venus-Mars is for passion. 
• Venus-Jupiter is perfect for celebrations. 
• Venus-Uranus is for tension (pleasant or not) 
• With Venus-Saturn and Venus-MC formal weddings start and end. 
• Venus-Neptune is for the romantic affair (often secret or platonic love) 
• With Venus-Pluto love is intense or 'renewed'. 

These aspects don't mean that you need to fall in love or get married again. Venus-Uranus sometimes changes preferences and brings new pleasures and hobbies. Venus-Pluto sometimes points at a financial situation or difficult choices to make. Venus - Uranus: firework in the rollercoaster!

Venus is the planet of love and entertainment. Uranus is the planet of controversy. So if you attract controversial lovers or if your love life is hot news, Uranus might be involved. Venus-Uranus is frequent in the chart of pop musicians, and some of them have a reputation with women (Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, David Bowie – quindecile -). The world of entertainment is exciting…
Artist and 'freewheeling lovers' may have Venus-Uranus aspect or midpoint combinations or Venus and Uranus prominent in their Astro I.D. The aspects provides sense of rhyhm.
Uranus also urges to haste and speed. Uranus helps to fall in love easily (and sometimes blindfolded:). In love this aspect could cause marriages with the wrong person, too soon. With Venus-Uranus adventures in love are not unthinkable. In some cultures these adventures won't be experienced by the woman, but by her partner. The other woman is the Venus-Uranus woman. (But what if you are the other woman?:)

SUN-URANUS and VENUS-URANUS DIVORCES
Sun or Venus afflicted by Uranus in the natal chart of a woman often is one of the 'bad signs' for long lasting relationships.

Lisa Marie Presley (who gave birth to a twin recently married 4 times (and divorced 3 times). She has Sun in Aquarius and there is a sesquisquare with Uranus within 2 degrees of orb. She also had Venus in Capricorn square Saturn and that makes it easy to see the mistakes and the disadvantages of a marriage and a partner. She was born February 1, 1968 in Memphis.

2.
Elisabeth Taylor (who is very ill now and recently went to the UK to say farewell to her family members there) has Venus in Aries (good sign for love at first sight, bad sign for keeping the fire burning) conjunct Uranus (good for an artist and falling in love, producing however a flashlight-relationship), in the 5th equal house of games (and opposite sex). Her oriental Mars might indicate an orientation on males...She married 8 times, twice with the same man. Here is her chart...


3.
Princess Caroline of Monaco married 3 times and had one divorce. The second husband died in an accident. She has Sun opposition Uranus in the 5th house, Jupiter (for multitude) in the 7th house of marriage and Mars sesquisquare Saturn. Sun-Mars and Mars-Saturn afflictions in the chart of a woman are, like Sun or Venus with Uranus indications for more than one (and if there are too many of these indications, no!) marriage. 4. Jennifer Aniston has Venus opposition Uranus, orb 5,5 degrees (translated light by Jupiter in the 6th degree of Libra). She also has Sun square Mars, but that is another story. Sun square Mars is another sign for possible problems in longlasting relationships. The 3rd indication in her chart is Venus in Aries (!) sesquisquare Mars. Venus and Mars rule the 1st and 7th house!

Dutch singer/entertainer Ria Valk (born February 11, 1941 in Eindhoven; started her carreer imitating Elvis Presley and is now a painter) has the Sun tightly square Uranus and she recently decided that it was better for her to remain alone. VENUS-URANUS TRANSIT, PROGESSION AND COMPOSITION CHARTS
A progressed aspect between Venus and Uranus might just be a butterfly passing by or a flashlight relationship. It can also be an unexpected new hobby or pleasure (Venus is not per se love!) that will not last for long. I had it when I went to a carnival weekend. Loved it! But haven’t done it again…
With Venus in Gemini connected to Uranus you might start dancing, all of the sudden. Venus-Uranus is for surprises and unexpected bruses in love. Never a dull moment with Venus-Uranus! But sometimes when marriages crash, there will be injuries. That is the other side of Venus-Uranus.


The marriage of Prince Andrew and Sarah Fergusson is a fine example of Venus-Uranus in the composite chart…

CAPRICORN All about the sun sign Capricorn, Moon, planets, Ascendant and Midheaven in Capricorn

Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, is a cardinal earth sign.

You show having Sun in Capricorn by:
- reading all the little letters in a contract
- being careful

AM I WHO I THINK I AM OR AM I WHO OTHERS SAY THAT I AM?
"It is easy to believe and it is easy to pretend with a Sun-Neptune aspect in your chart. You could be very naïve or a con man, but in a way your way of living has something ‘double’. Some of you may have a vivid dream life that can be more intense than the dull daily life you are living. Some actually have a double identity (as a spy, or having two families). And others just have a vivid imagination and create fantasies for a living. Actors with this aspect are often confused with the role that they have. And when there is gossip, it is not easy for someone with a Sun-Neptune aspect to show the truth. Read the post about missing people and the suspects in those cases: Sun-Neptune was there!"

"Am I who I think I am, or am I who other's think what I am?” said a person I knew. She had an oriental Neptune conjunct the Sun. OBESE AND ASTROLOGY Why we are fat and what part of the chart is to be blamed for it...

I found this lovely demonstration of evolution on a Belgian site about moving and dieting. Yes, ‘we' have grown (me, too!), but some grow faster than others do. A recent study showed that women get the shape of an apple and that we have 18 centimeters more (horizontally:) than our grandmothers had. In about 50 years the bodies of women will have the same shape as that of men (from behind). I think Ceres (see picture below) can be blamed for that. I bet she did not have 88-58-88!

Ceres – symbol of nutrition - has evolved from asteroid to dwarf planet. At the same time, people are growning and governments are more and more aware of it. Today it was published that (in the UK) schools will warn the parents when their children have extreme overweight (due to too many pizza's)!

LET US BLAME OUR CHART...
The birth chart shows your talent for growing by eating. And the birth chart gives you the keys to stop growing, too. But let's first blame our chart for the weight that we already have. Let us blame Venus, Jupiter, the Moon and the Ascendant and let us prove it! There are enough examples. And on the bottom of this post there is an advice that will motivate all star signs in their own way.


Blame VENUS, for all the nice and sweet things in the world
The planet Venus makes things pretty, nice and sweet. Do you love sweet things too much? You might have a conflict with Venus in that case. Venus is also the planet of love and affection. And if you need love and affection, but you don't get it, there is an easy way to sooth the desire with sugar. A conflict between Venus and Jupiter points at too much sugar. And when Venus is afflicting the Ascendant, you not only look 'too sweet' but you also use to much sweetness or make-up. Examples?

Blame it on JUPITER, the one that makes you fat
Jupiter is the symbol of everything that is great, big and fat. That is because Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system. Astrology sometimes has simple messages:) Jupiter rules fat, progress and fortune. In many cultures, up till today, being fat is a good sign. That is the positive side.

When Jupiter is conjunct the Ascendant, in the first house or afflicted by Sun, Moon, Venus or Ascendant, there is a chance that you get overweight. This is especially so when Jupiter is in gluttonous sign like Pisces or Cancer. There is a slight chance that being fat won't harm you. In that case there is no affliction, just an aspect. Or should it be more easy to gain weight? Do you want examples?

Blame it on the MOON for greed and habitsYou don't get fat just like that. You have to work for it. And the activity it takes is: eating, a lot of eating! Do you like sweet food (Moon-Venus) or do you like to eat a lot (Moon-Jupiter) or do you have a problem with food (Moon-Pluto)? Do you have the Moon in a sign that makes you round (Cancer or Pisces) or large (Leo or Sagittarius)? It might be that your Moon is excessive (Scorpio) or the Moon is in a sign that like to have a kitchen filled with food (Taurus)? If any part of the chart can be blamed, it is the Moon! Examples:

Alfred Hitchcock had Sun quintile Jupiter and Ascendant Pisces (just like me:(, AND Moon in Scorpio square Venus

Have you got the ASCENDANT in the right rising (...) sign?
You cannot help it when you have an ascendant that makes you fat. Blame your ascendant Pisces, Cancer, Sagittarius or Leo if you like to show off your wealth (Leo), feed yourself (Cancer, let yourself go (Pisces) or simply grow (Sagittarius). Especially when Saturn does not help you at all!

AND IS IT COINCIDENCE THAT AN EXTRA SYMBOL OF NUTRITION, CERES, HAS BECOME MORE IMPORTANT IN THE LAST YEARS?
Ceres, the dwarf planet is the symbol of nutrition. Ceres is close to the Ascendant of Oliver Hardy, opposite Venus in the chart of Roseanne Barr and Elvis Plresley and on top of the chart of Churchill. So Ceres was active all along, but now she is being taken serious!

CONCLUSION
It takes an accumulation (...) of indications in your chart to grow real fat. And it is not just caused by eating. Not moving (for example when you sit and watch this screen, like now) is very helpful, too.

Aries
To get the bus in time: be active, do sports, do it alone!
Taurus
To have enough space to have some extra later: sleep more and move without pasture.
Gemini
To get in contact with others, do a game! Or just start walking outside...
Cancer
To save money, buy less! And drink a lot of water.
Leo
Consider it a game, win the race to loose weight and start showing off!
Virgo
To serve yourself, just diet. Then after a few weeks time, take a look in the mirror and enjoy the results (if you can:).
Libra
Buy a good balance, to be in balance, but whatever you do, do it together!
Scorpio
To show how drastic you are, be strict, fanatic and inflexible and get in control!
Sagittarius
To be able to coach others, find your own best method, more likely a flexible one:)
Capricorn
Just be economic and save energy by eating less. You know that food don’t last.
Aquarius
Do the latest diet to show the world that they can do better, too. Don't push it too far so that you have a safe return back on earth.
Pisces
Sacrifice yourself for the mirror’s sake! Swimming does not make us slimmer, but as long as you swim, you cannot eat. That goes for dancing, too.

You don't have to take it all that serious. And I am not making fun of it. Eating is a serious thing. So is growing fat. My contribution to less fat in the world can only be: less sitting and writing. I will try to beat THAT addiction:)

All about Neptune

This post is the free translation of my article on Astromarkt (in Dutch) about Neptune's effect.

In an earlier Astropost I wrote about Sun trine Neptune in the charts of Mickey Rourky and Elvis Presley and how they love dogs. Hard aspects from or with Neptune often have another kind of effect (bites, rats, ants, and other kinds of vermin; leakage (watch your cellar and sewer). And when you are famous enough you might be mentioned in a tabloid and your secrets are being revealed. Neptune comes with the sense of perfume sometimes, but unfortunately Neptune also symbolizes less pleasant fragrances! And when the tears keep streaming or the bladder is weak: Neptune!

FAKE

NEPtune also might dilute friendships and undermine positions or foundations. Neptune's first 3 letters are NEP and in Dutch 'nep' means 'fake'. Neptune is the great pretender. That is why Neptune is related to the movies, pictures and tricks.

Neptune is the boundless planet. Neptune is important in the chart of idealists, dreamers, addicted persons, 'rolling stones', and animal lovers. Perhaps being shy or disappointment in relating to human beings drives Sun-Neptune people into the loving 'arms' of their dogs?

Anyway, there are no limits for love when Neptune is around. Neptune IS romance. Romance can make you do anything for love's sake. Everything that goes beyond daily life and that is hidden (because revealing it can hurt you)...it is Neptune.

ISOLATION
Neptune is the god of the dangerous sea, where you can get isolated, drown, get lost or disappear forever. Neptune is also related to dancing halls, alcohol and the places involved, space and closets (where you hide things). Whatever it is that you want to cover up: Neptune! Whoever you want to protect and help (even if they do not deserve it): Neptune! Neptune is important also in the charts of those who work without payment and voluntarily to help others. But of course, you can use Neptune in a more professional way, and take care of people who are ill and need to be helped.

NEGATIVE NEPTUNE

NEptune symbolizes NEgativity, too. Your negative attitude or approach is stimulated by Neptune. Deceit and neglect is part of the vocabulary of Neptune. Drugs are Neptunic (they produce visions). All that ties you and addicts you and makes you a slave (of a person or a thing): Neptune. Romantic love is a way to become another person's slave:)

In times that you are seen in a negative light (just or unjust), there will be a transit or progression of Neptune to reflect this period.

PINK

Neptune is a great seducer and uses candlelight, perfumes and music. When there is a mutual understanding (chemistry), Neptune is around. And Í almost forgot to mention that mediums (those persons who sense it all) are symbolized by Neptune as Neptune is the symbol of spirits and spirituality (all of those things that you cannot really touch or get a grip on).

Illusions and desillusions after seeing through pink glasses are also due to the influence of Neptune.

SACRIFICE
Every environment, gender, time, place and culture has a different way to express s the influence of Neptune. Gossip, shame, sacrifice...Recently I found that two commando's who received an award for heroic actions had Mars trine Neptune (self sacrifice). See where Neptune is in your chart to see where or what you sacrificed.

REMEDIES
When you translate 'Neptune' , try to keep in mind all of the circumstances. People aren't being sacrificed for the sake of a god any more. Scandals can be survived. And there is help for the addicted. Whenever the negative sides of Neptune show up, try to send help using the positive side of Neptune. Send compassion, listen to music, use nice fragrances, see art (Neptune is the symbol of art! See Art & Astrology...). Or perhaps you should buy a dog when you have Sun in a close sextile or trine with Neptune.

Couples with the same Moonsign

Moon in Aquarius is not an uncommon position of the Moon in the charts of comics, comedians and clowns. I have several examples on my blog art-astrologie.blogspot.com, like Dutch clown Cor Witsche (born August 5, 1925, 15h30 AMZ in Amsterdam), comedian Corrie van Gorp (June 30, 1942, 22h Rotterdam), author of comedies Wim T. Schippers (July 1, 1942, 16h45 Groningen; less than a day later than Corrie van Gorp). A great example is Bill Murray, born September 21, 1950 in Wilmette Illinois (time unknown) who's Moon is in Aquarius, too. In a minute I am going to watch Groundhog Day for the ?xx?th time, I just love it. Maybe that is because my Moon is in Aquarius, too, more likely it is because it is a cult comedy! But, this post was supposed to be about the Moon in sign and about what happens when your Moon and your partner's Moon happens to be in the same sign. It is just for fun, just like Groundhog Day. The Moon's sign is only one of the many ingredients that make you the person who you are, of course. That is OK. Because if you and your partner where only a Moon in the same sign, life would perhaps turn into an everlasting Groundhog Day.

When lovers have the same position of the Moon, they feel close and comfortable. Friends often have the same Moonsign. It makes you feel as if you belong together ('We are family').

Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Jackson both have Moon in Pisces in the natal chart. The Moon in Pisces is a romantic Moon. Many artists have the Moon in Pisces. It gives feeling for the 'mood' of the moment, it increases empathy and fantasy. The Moon in Pisces is also frequent in the charts of addicts and that is because of the need to hide away, run away from reality and live a life of dreams.

There are more examples of couples who shared the same Moonsign. Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love both had Moon in Cancer. They shared the need to belong, to feel at home and to keep memories alive. Moon in Cancer is part of the astrological pattern of artistic talents and they were both artists. They also shared highlighted emotions with Moon in Cancer.

Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka (the 'Ken and Barbie' murderers) both have Moon in Aries, the need to 'act right away'.

These three examples maybe show us that sharing a Moonsign may feel as 'coming home' but is not precisely reflecting a stable relationship between a man and a woman. Shared experiences and emotions may be too intense. Living in the same household might be hard when two of a kind keep reacting in the same way. They share the same good and bad moods. When the Moons are conjunct (in the same degree or within 3 degrees of orb in the same degree), they may feel the same way about a lot of things and often experience the same changes of moods at about the same moment, even when they are apart. This twin soul is very hard to separate and they easily live together in the same house or room.

Of course, you don't need to be lovers to have Moon conjunct Moon or Moons in the same sign. Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands has Moon in Aquarius and so has her beloved daughter in law, Máxima. They feel comfortable with each other. Mothers can have the same Moon sign as their child. 'Just friends' can have the same Moon sign. You can have the same Moon sign as your dog and sigh at the same moment...

WHEN YOU BOTH HAVE....

Moon in Aries: action, sport together, working together, arguing together:), always something to do in the house (do it yourself. As a mother you like to have a job AND children and your children should be independent a.s.a.p. You are used to having to do things fast and on your own. Your way, of course:). So when a couple has Moon conjunct Moon in Aries, there may be some conflicts...Such a drive, with Moon conjunct Moon in Aries.

Moon in Taurus:
You surround yourself with the more sensual and comfortable things in life and nice objects of art (paintings, sculptures). You are very loyal to family, kids and old friends. One of the nasty things of a moon in Taurus is too think that they have not been treated as they should have been or as they deserve. In which cause they react very emotionally and stubborn. You need matter and material and money in the bank.
With Moon conjunct Moon in Taurus it may take a long time to end up like fighting bulls. Such a nice couple, with Moon conjunct Moon in Taurus.

Moon in Gemini: dancing or shopping together, taking a walk, having a good discussion and dressing up identical as if you were twins, city slickers with a second house. Sometimes people do not get the Moon in Gemini, as you seem to have two faces. You are the kind of woman that cooks while watching television and nursing a child at the same time, no problem, but you prefer going out shopping. That is because you want to follow the trends and look young and modern.

Moon in Cancer: family life, just being together in the same house, collecting photos or objects, always visiting family members and the children never far away or ...never leaving mother. You respond emotionally to your environment and close ones and have a special bound with family/mother. An attic full of photo's, a soul full of memories...When in trouble or afflicted you really think your intimates are the best, whatever they do is right and you support them all the way. This strong moon is at best when emotions are involved. You will be such an emotional couple, with Moon conjunct Moon in Cancer.

Moon in Leo: showing off together, dramatic acts, having a party, glamour and glitter in the house...Those with Moon in Leo have a sense for status and sometimes they walk around showing off where there in fact is nothing to be shown but fake. It is a position for pretensions. They just have a need to draw attention and look royal (dressed up with 'jewels', 'furs' etc.). Wow, this couple with Moon conjunct Moon in Leo is drawing attention!

Moon in Virgo: helping and serving each other or others, cleaning the house together, buying shoes and bags together, a practical household...You notice every little thing and that is why you are of perfect use in practical processes such as photography. As a mother you like your children nice and clean and you never forget the plants in the office. A modest attitude and at least pretending to be useful: that is Moon in Virgo. But with Moon conjunct Moon in Virgo you also tend to be very critical at each other and to see every little spot. It is such a neat couple, the Moon conjunct Moon in Virgo (and they are so clean). Perhaps you are often having a bath together?

Moon in Libra: looking nice and charming, doing a 'beauty day' together, the house as a style icon...But what to choose? Moon in Libra just cannot decide. They just NEED company. Mothers with Moon in Libra might pay special attention to the equal division of candy among their children...A couple with Moon conjunct Moon in Libra is very indecisive. As they don't want to hurt each other, they may end up with another partner out of the blue. Still, they are a very nice couple and he always brings her flowers.

Moon in Scorpio: looking bold and brave together, sharing dangerous experiences, difficult eating habits, minimalist household but expensive. When this couple with Moon conjunct Moon in Scorpio is not defending themselves against others, they might start defending themselves against the other partner and end up like cactuses in a desert when there is no more passion. They need challenges and are a daring couple. Don't ever challenge them!:)

Moon in Sagittarius: acting positive and cheerful, driving or traveling together, learning a language together, dreaming of a house abroad...When things are getting wrong or bad you became nervous and hurried. A couple with Moon conjunct Moon in Sagittarius is a busy couple, always on the way and always looking for more and better. They are so successful!:)

Moon in Capricorn: sharing ambitions need to be economic and classical, use of stone in the house, need for decorum and status. A couple with Moon in Capricorn might be working hard to make a career or consider parenthood as their goal.

Moon in Aquarius: cars, techniques, electronics and the latest new devices and freedom (living together but apart...or apart together), sudden and surprising changes, sense of humor. As they are individualist, but like to have some company too, in extreme cases they will have to organize a domestic meeting.

Moon in Pisces: romance, candle light, the same need to hide away in the strictly private twilight zone or to travel far far away, swimming in the moonlight, loving the same movie...

Divorce in the chart

As charts are to be seen in the context of history, genes, gender, social position and culture there is no world wide guide line for marriage or divorce. A chart mirrors what is below. ('So above, so below' is also 'So below, so above').

Astrologer Ram found a pattern in the charts of divorced persons and in the charts of those who never get married at all. That was in the first half of the 20th century, so that we need to see the pattern in the context of history. It was exceptional to divorce in those days.
Today, it is much easier to divorce and (at least in Western Europe) nobody cares if you marry or not (and still live together as one). So things have changed. Also, the rich and those who live in the world of 'stars' find it less easy to stay married and easier to divorce. That is why they don't need that much of the found indications as in those days.

The indications

For men and women it is not good for long lasting marriages to have conflicts between the Ascendant and Descendant (the first and seventh house. So when there is a conflict between ruler 1 and ruler 7 or positions in the 1st and 7th house, there is problem in living together as one couple.

Difficult hard aspects for men are:
- Moon in conflict with Saturn
- Moon in conflict with Neptune
- Venus in conflict with Neptune
- Mars in conflict with Uranus

Difficult hard aspects for women are:
- Sun in conflict with Mars
- Sun in conflict with Uranus
- Venus in conflict with Uranus
- Mars in conflict with Saturn

More of those afflictions increase the possibility of separations. With 2 or more of those indications it is harder to stay with the first marriage partner or… it is harder to get married at all.  Almost every time that I write about divorce, here or on Astrology&Love, I mention these findings.*)
AND...
Venus in Aries and Mars in Libra aren't stimulating relationships, I noticed. Venus is the mundane ruler of Libra and the 7th house. Mars is the ruler of the 1st house and of Aries. When they are in each other's sign, that is a weak placement for relationships.

a. Barbara Streisand 'had enough' on Mars semi sextile Saturn and ruler 7 Venus in Pisces, quintile Uranus. But she is star.
b. Zsa Zsa Gabor (6 February 1915, 20:08 CET Budapest) married 8 times. Her chart has Venus in Capricorn square Aries Point, but she has Pisces on the cusp of the 7th house and the ruler of Pisces (Neptune) is 'calling', biquintile Mercury ruler 1. Picture it: ruler 1 Mercury biquintile the 'calling' Neptune ruler 7 for a creative (biquintile) way to relate at any kind of level...
So there are also creative and 'easy' aspects pointing at divorce.

IV. More personal example: a family member (female) with Sun and Venus square Uranus and ruler 1 in conflict with ruler 7. She married and divorced twice.

V. Princess Anne of England married twice. Her natal charts has 3 out of the 4 indications for divorce for women*) and a conflict between the rulers of the 1^st and 7^th house. That is enough for at least one divorce. 

VI.  Princess Irene has all of the four aspect combinations of possible divorce in her chart, but only 2 of them are difficult (the square and the quindecile):

- Sun binovile Uranus (going your own way, regardless of other’s opinions), 

- Venus quintile Uranus (creative adventures in love) and 

- Mars square Saturn (seperation from a man, dead ends) with 

- Sun quindecile Mars

As I said, it is the context (the culture) that 'does it'. It is also the character that does it. Sometimes there is a 'happy divorce'. Sometimes circumstances change very much and it is the progressed chart that contains the indications for separation or divorce. People are individuals (most of them:). Yet, maybe sometimes, the natal chart is involved:).
