Daily transits of Midheaven and Ascendant

This post is about the daily motion of the angles of the chart, the transits of Ascendant and Midheaven. Another story about the daily motion is the article about Solar Transits (the daily motion of the Sun) on my site Astromarkt. For example, when the Sun is in the same degree as your natal Sun it is Sun conjunct Sun-day and …your birthday. There will be a spotlight (Sun) on YOU. Fortunately it is almost my Sun-Jupiter day!*)

The planets, Sun and Moon move and keep moving every day. So is the position of the Ascendant and Midheaven. The earth is moving around the axis and that is what makes the world go around. The Ascendant and Midheaven pass trough the astrological zodiac and are in aspect with your natal and progressed positions all day long. The Moon is also a fast mover, but nothing beats the movement of the Ascendant and Midheaven!

It happened to me that I had an accident (without injuries) when the Ascendant of the moment of the accident was exactly conjunct my natal Mars. Of course, that happens all the time and every day! There were other indications for accidents, but this one was exact. This sort of thing makes me aware of the ‘bad moments’ on a day. We have such moments when we drop things, forget about something or loose our patience, or enjoy a view. Nothing special, but still.

One of the best examples of the effect of the movement of Ascendant and Midheaven is giving birth. The Ascendant and/or Midheaven and/or the Moon is very often in aspect with the natal positions of the mother and father. Understandably Mars (pain, cuts) and Saturn (fear, hard labour) but also Venus (joy) and Jupiter (happiness) accompany the moment of birth (the moment that is indicated by the Ascendant and Midheaven or the midpoint of Ascendant and Midheaven. The Ascendant is the Eastern side of the horizon, Midheaven is the ‘sky above’ at the exact place of the event or birth at the exact moment of it! So don’t worry if your mother’s Saturn is on your Ascendant and ask her how it was and what happened at the moment that you were born. Perhaps she suddenly felt tired?

What sort of time is it? The daily transits show it.
It seems that when Midheaven changes sign there is more activity around you. For example: people at the door, people on the phone… I don’t have enough time to watch the transit of Midheaven all day long and in fact, nobody has...So can anybody please make an app for that so that we can have a quick look at the positions of Midheaven and Ascendant IF anything happens? BTW somebody fell real hard with transit Midheaven exactly square her natal Saturn.  But that might just be coincidence...

Transits of Pluto with the Sun

Statue of Pluto, in the sunlight
Transit of Pluto are never easy. Pluto is the equivalent of 'difficulty' and 'challenge'. With transit Pluto in aspect with the Sun something in your life might even be destroyed and then you must make a fresh new start. Maybe you need therapy or surgery. Maybe you need to 'come back' for the money. It is time to evaluate your life and lifestyle and unfortunately: you must.
Perhaps  physical challenges, or a problem with an authority or (political or envious) enemies force you to be strong and brave. In all those situations stress is with you, all along the period of the transit, but in the end you know that you ‘ master’ yourself.  Even if you have to start all over again...even if you must do this or that and even if you have to stay up all night. With transit Pluto you live the intense way, as if it could be your last moment on earth. That is the effect of stress...Of course, the stress will be felt harder when your natal chart has Sun-Pluto aspects and/or when you are a politican, an authority, in danger or with enemies. The effect of the transit of Pluto is strongly related to the position in the natal chart and to the general conditions in the country or company. And the transits of Pluto must also be seen in the light of the other transits and progressions (like all transits).
Transits of Pluto aren't one day flies. Pluto is often 'retrograding' (appearing to move backwards) and that is why the transit of Pluto happens more than once in a period of about two years. In that period you learn to deal with Pluto.
Pluto's transits and progressions often show up when an artist has a 'come back', most of the time because there is a financial problem. Pluto often makes it a problem to continue in the way you did before. Something changed and you must try to 'survive' (sometimes literally). Financial or health problems might force you to 'come back' or 'start all over again'.  Sometimes the 'come back' refers to old problems coming back, unfortunately. Like with Dutch Prince Bernhard jr. who had to have surgery twice because the same physical problem reappeared with transit Pluto conjunct the Sun.
You don't just die with transit Pluto; you are strong! Even if you have to start all over again...even if you must do this or that and even if you have to stay up all night...
Here are 7 examples of transits of Pluto with the natal or progressed Sun. Use the links to see what else was in the chart.
For example:
1. Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen (age 13, P Sun with transit Pluto when he became a grandmaster).
2. The king of Bhutan in the first year of his reign with transit Pluto square progressed Sun
3. Oprah now that she stops with her shows and a half sister appears with transit Pluto square progressed Sun:
4. Michael Douglas ‘coming back’ at the end of a period of therapy against cancer with transit Pluto square Sun and conjunct Moon (and with his son in prison too)
5. Transit Pluto square the natal Sun conjunct Pluto in the chart of Gwynneth Paltrow when she had problems with an overly fanatic diet.
6. Transit Pluto square natal Sun when Sophia Loren’s husband died.
7. We see Donald Trump as a successful rich man, but he had his problems. I quote myself:
It is November 2, 1992, the day that he couldn't pay his debts in the middle of a period of financial problems. Transit Pholus was conjunct his Ascendant (turning point in a situation), transit Pluto was inconjunct his Sun (challenge with a lost) and inconjunct progressed Midheaven (lost position due to problems). Later there was progressed Sun conjunct Pluto, expressing the strong will to come back and intensifying life.
Pluto is the dwarf planet with giant effects sometimes. The Sun has the starring role in our part of the galaxy and is the symbol of life and vitality. Pluto is the symbol of 'life and death', the reflection of evaluations. You might also see the transit of Pluto as 'Pluto in the spotlights'.
With Sun-Pluto connections evaluations and revaluations will take place and it will be about your life style.
During the transit of Pluto with your Sun, your idea about the value of (your) life might transform. And you might see your problems and values in a new light.

The intense transits of Pluto

Pluto is the planet of crisis, exhausition, stress, life and death and threaths. That is a lot of challenge.
Transits of Pluto are intense and tiring, because they bring you on the edge. Maybe you are the one who wants to get to the limits of what is possible. Maybe it is you who wants to get back on stage, stay alive at whatever cost or win, anyhow. But it could also be circumstances forcing you to be the fanatic and extreme person that you need to be in order to survive, defend or get on with your life after a difficult period. In all of those cases Pluto is the symbol of ‘the force’ (for or against you).  The enemy might be an illness, a political enemy, an authority or a problem (with money or people). You might feel it like a test case: do you or don’t you want to go on and do you or don’t you want to live (like this)? It is like a confrontation about values: what is really worth ‘it’? Sometimes Pluto brings success on your way, but then you have to pay the price. Pluto is the prize and the price to pay for it. Think of a winner of Idols who suddenly loses his privacy and normal way of living. Or think of a birth: a child has great impact and changes it all. People marry and divorce during the transit of Pluto. Pluto is transformation and transformation is stress. Physical challenges might also come on your way with transits of Pluto. You might meet a therapist or surgeon with Pluto’s transit. Transits of Pluto: evaluation, transformation, intensification, demands and challenges and always the FORCE. Whenever there is a transit of Pluto something encourages you and makes your will stronger. The stress intensifies the way you see things.
And the nature of the transit (the kind of aspect, soft or hard) doesn’t seem to mean much. Even more than with other transits, it is important to know if Pluto is making an aspect in the birth chart and if the transit is ‘resonating’ that aspect, in which case the transit will be felt harder. Sometimes the transits don’t seem to have any effect at all, exept deeply felt jealousy of others. And… more than with other transits, the nature of the aspect (harmonious or not) doesn’t seem to matter much.
For example, when Goran Lindberg (a policeman) was arrested there were trines of the Sun and  Mars with transit Pluto, resonating the squares of the Sun with Mars and Pluto in the natal chart. He had abused his power. Transit Saturn inconjunct Sun showed the lost of self respect at the moment of the arrest, just when he had a great chance of using and abusing his strong influence and power. But he was a policeman in a democracy, so eventually he was caught.
When there is a transit of Pluto the force might better be with you than against you!

Rule of 3 (indications in transits and progressions)

This month it is the month of the transits here. Last month it was the month of the Progressions. People often ask questions about one single transit or progressions. They should better have a look at the larger picture.
There is a 'rule of 3'

The Rule of Three means that it takes ' three to tango'. Usually the rule of 3 is used to mention nice events. The happy event doesn't need more than 3. But, when there are three or more serious indications for trouble, there probably will be serious trouble. Frida Kahlo had far more than 3 indications for bad times when she had the accident that crippled her and Laura Bush caused a lethal accident that changed her forever with more than 3 indications (see Progressions and life changing accidents).

When there are at least three indications for joy, you might expect joy. When there is clear and present danger for violation, there are also at least 3 indications and probably more. There is a recent nasty example. And a happy one. Let us start with the happy one. Continue for the examples...

Zodiac jokes, a new constellation? and insurance figures

The Huffington Post is reporting about 'Allstate retracts failed zodiac joke' here:
Allstate (insurance company) published figures of accidents for the 13 (...sigh) new signs (...sigh, sigh) and a lot of their costumers protested (they want serious companies:).

Part of the 'joke' is that the company used the 13 signs of the astronomers (that is to say: the constellations, instead of the astrological signs). These 13 constellations used as sunsigns give uneaven signs (with different numbers of 'sign members'). For example, the number of accidents for Virgo (constellation, not sign) is that high because of the width of the sign and the number of ' Virgo's' (those who are a Virgo according to astronomers, of course, not astrologers!).

Well, there IS a post (posted in 2007) about figures for the good old astrological signs here. The results of a study by a Dutch insurance company about deathly accidents in traffic and sunsigns were clear. Results of 2003 (published in 2005 in the Dutch newspaper Telegraaf):
In 2003 there were 1028 deathly victims in trafic in Holland. Of them, 106 were Aries, 106 Gemini, 100 Sagittarius, 100 Pisces, 92 Taurus, 86 Cancer, 83 Leo, 80 Virgo, 80 Aquarius, 76 Scorpio, 75 Libra, and only 43 of them were Capricorns.
Capricorn is the most carefull sign! But it might just be coincidence for one year.  Is there any insurance company brave enough to publish real figures for the astrological signs these days? And if they do, can they also give a list of the most frequent tight major and minor aspects in the charts? Thanks in advance:)!
The poll with the question ' Should the signs be renamed' shows that almost all of you don't want other names, not even if the astronomers keep mistaking  'our signs'  for their constellations. So perhaps it is a better idea to rename the constellations, LOL:)! Good idea for the next poll? I already found a new constellation today...!

JUST KIDDING....
If everybody is naming and rearranging sunsigns these days, why not have a carsign, too? I don't want to upset astronomers, but their constellations carry the names given in a long gone history (probably by astrologers, even! oh dear). Those names haven't changed, but the world and our concepts changed! We still have to work with old fashioned names of constellations and we miss modern ideas! However, these bright lights can be connected either way, so that we get a modern sky, one with cars and computers and rockets, for example. I already noticed the carsign 'Speedy' today (see the picture). May I suggest that they consider renaming and refiguring the constellations? There is really not a snake at all, you know and no one who carries the serpent! It is all imagination! Draw another line and you get that car!
