French president Hollande, Julie Gayet and Venus-Neptune

French president Hollande was in the news this week because of a picture of a man with helmet on a scooter, supposedly him, on his way to his lover Julie Gayet. It is interesting to see how Venus-Neptune works in this case.

Here is the chart of Julie Gayet. The transits are the positions on the day of birth of the president.
Her Venus is exactly square his Venus. So even if they don't have the same tastes or preferences, they like each other.
Her Venus is inconjunct Neptune. It is not uncommon for an artist to have a Venus-Neptune aspect. In fact, most of them have such an aspect, as you may see on Art&Astrology. But it is also an aspect related to 'affairs' (secret loves, romance and unfortunate loves).
Transit Neptune is inconjunct HIS Venus now. So now they both have a Venus inconjunct Neptune to share.
Her Venus receives a trine from Neptune. As I mentioned in the article on resonance, a transit repeating a natal aspect combination is more important than usual.

Hollande has a 'calling' Venus. You know who also had a 'calling' Venus? Mitterand: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2008/10/when-ladies-smile-like-in-chart-of.html

The bright side of the chart of the royal baby born July 22, 2013

On the chart of Prince George....
The youngest British royal was born in July 22, 2013 at 16:24 BST in London. It is a birth a few hours before the full moon in Aquarius and still with the Sun and Moon in Cancer. It sounds like a moment waiting for the increasing manifestation of starlight. The parents waited a few hours to tell the world about the birth of their first born. It seems to be British tradition to wait with announcements until the Queen and PM have been informed. Also, William and Kate wanted to tell the family first, personally. Surprisingly, when the announcement was made, the Sun and Moon had entered the next sign, Leo and it was full moon. Spotlights on!

I use not to analyze charts of very young children. They are just starting, everybody is happy and it is better to keep it that way  for a long long while. So let me focus (for almost 100%) on the bright sides of the chart, please. It is not difficult. It is the chart of a good looking, charming, energetic boy.

GOOD LOOKS AND BELOVED
Watch Venus and Uranus in hard aspect with the Ascendant and you will understand that he will likely be attractive not just because of his position, but also because of his looks. Venus is in Virgo (a 'cool' sign for a man). With Moon inconjunct Venus, both in aspect with the Ascendant, there may be a lack of balance in the relationship with females, too. Moon and Venus are in hard aspect with Neptune (Moon is semi square and Venus is opposition Neptune). This sensitivity and desire is good for the development of artistic talents. But it is also an indication for the issue of love affairs.

Venus had an important position in the sky at the moment of birth, elevated and conjunct Regulus. Heinrich Himmler had Venus conjunct Regulus and this didn't make him a nice guy (see Astrodatabank: http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Himmler,_Heinrich ). Constellation of Words quotes Robson about violent attachments and nasty love affairs.
He'll have a number of years to learn how to deal with that!:)

ENERGETIC
No matter at what hour: Mars rises before the Sun and is conjunct Jupiter. Great achievement, success and/or a lot of energy is to be expected. It will be first of all an active child. Maybe he will follow his father's footsteps and have a job in the army, later.

WATER SIGN TRIPOD
There is a lot of water in this chart, in particular because of placements in Cancer. Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Neptune and Saturn are in water signs. There is a rare grand trine of Mars, Jupiter, Neptune and Saturn and there is a tripod pattern in the chart.

Water is the element of 'going with the flow' and at the same time: of traditions. It is easy with such a lot of positions in water signs to sense what the people wants and what is current or not. The grand trine makes it easy to choose the easy way out in times of trouble.

CHARACTER
The combination of Sun in Cancer and Moon in Capricorn, reflecting the sun signs of his father and mother, is a combination of taking care and the need of security and something to hold on to. May I refer to Cafe Astrology for more on Sun opposition Moon? The Scorpio Ascendant is in aspect with Sun and Moon: he'll do well in the spotlights.

ROYALTY
The importance of the dynasty and being the heir is represented by Ceres. Ceres is biquintile IC and quindecile (165d) natal Sun.
First borns have a special position when it comes to inheriting a title. This young man has Jupiter in the 6th degree of Cancer, part of the grand trine. Jupiter is in minor aspect with Midheaven (a 75d aspic) and IC (105).

SUCCESSION
I quote myself about William on Father's day (http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/06/fatherday-special-royal-fathers-charts.html)

" In the solar return chart of his birthday on June 21, 2013, Ceres (dynasty, genes) is in the final degree of Cancer. That is  spot on the progressed Sun of the Prince and highlights the theme of motherhood/parenthood".

The Ceres of this father's solar return chart is in 29d29 Cancer. That is conjunct the son's natal sun.

SYNASTRY
The Jupiter of William is square the boy's Sun (out of sign). He might spoil his Sun a bit too much and wants to help and protect him more than is usual.
Transit Saturn was trine his natal Moon on the day of birth, so in the relationship there will be a strong sense of responsibility.
On the day of birth the Sun was conjunct William's progressed Sun. It must have felt like a 'birthday':) In the synastry it means that the first period of baby boy's life there will be a strong bondage.

The Jupiter of Charles is inconjunct the Sun of baby boy. Grandfather may want to spoil him…

Mother Catherine had progressed Sun square Ceres (the symbol of dynasties and motherhood) and Progressed Mars square Sun. Transit Jupiter was inconjunct her Mercury and sesquis quare her progressed Sun.
I gave her a guess chart for a birth at 9:05 a.m. so that transit Uranus ruler 1 was square her natal Moon and transit Jupiter inconjunct her Midheaven, roughly. Here it is:

Astrology and the death of children

One of the most tragic things in a human life is the loss of a child. Today it is 10 years after the death of my sister. When my sister died (now 10 years ago), my mother had hard transits to deal with:

  •  transit Saturn opposition Moon and
  • transit Saturn opposition Ascendant (hard experience related to what happens to others)
  • immediately followed by transit Venus (comfort) and
  • a quindecile (165d aspect) between Sun (natal ruler 8th house of life and death) and transit Neptune (Neptune is in the 8th house in the natal chart). The same quindecile turns up in the chart of the time of the death of the son of Sylvester Stallone. The meaning of Sun quindecile Neptune (and 8th house) is a strong focus on a sad definitive change.

John Travolta and Sylvester Stallone live longer than one of their children, just like my mother does. In 2009 was the death of a son of John Travolta (see that post: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2009/01/death-of-john-travoltas-son-jett.html). On the 13th of July 2012, this tragedy happened to Sylvester Stallone.
At the moment of the death of their sons both men had an inconjonct between Venus in the eight house and the Ascendant.
- In John Travolta's case its was transit Venus in the 8th house of life and death conjunct Sun and inconjunct natal Ascendant.
- Sylvester Stallone's progressed Ascendant was exactly inconjunct natal Venus in the 8th house.
Both lost a loved one with an inconjunct of Venus coming from the 8th house. There were, of course, more hard aspects at the same time (see list below).

Venus is a beneficial symbol. In times of death, Venus illustrates the comfort that surround a mourning person. In times of death, most families comes together to help each other deal with the pain. Venus in times of strong and many conflicts or other kind of aspects with the 8th house, doesn't make things right. Venus mirrors all that eases and softens...
JACKIE
When Jacqueline Kennedy lost Patrick, transit Saturn was quindecile transit Mercury (ruler 8) and quindecile her natal Sun, AFTER Venus transit (joy first, grieve later).

MOZART
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lost 4 of his 6 children. In his days the death of children was not as unusual as in our days. I wrote about that (quote):
Mozart was successful, but he had problems with money due to the high standard of living. Also he suffered from the death of four (!) of his six children between 1783 and 1789.  Saturn joins Sun and Mercury in the fifth house of (pro-)creation. At the time of the death of his little son, transit Pluto was in aspect with the 5th house Sun and Mercury. When his little daughter died in 1789 progressed Moon squared Pluto and transit Saturn was on the Moon.
Continue for the list of transits of Sylvester Stallone...

Luxury problems with transit Venus

An emergency call and I was summoned to my mother's house. She felt very very sick for 10 hours after a mistake made by the drugstore. She had been given wrong medication. So instead of in the office,  I was in her apartment, making phone calls, leading her to and from bed, toilet or chair and arranging for more help to come. She is OK now. I am sure, because she is complaining about the extra assistance (she is a Moon conjunct Saturn on Ascendant, you know:).

That was Thursday (transit Sun square Neptune). And then came Friday (transit Venus inconjunct my Sun/Moon and quindecile my Venus). Venus! I got new glasses. Rosy red. Wow! You see them before you see me. I was very enthusiastic first, and then, this morning, I suddenly realized that they reminded me of  Sybill Trelawney , the psychic teacher in Harry Potter. Same size glasses, I mean, or almost same size glasses. I am not so happy with them anymore. Is that because of that inconjunct? Let me read it:
I was focussed (sic…) on (Venus quindecile) and motivated (Sun/Moon for style and beauty (transit Venus), and than suddenly the pleasure had gone (inconjunct). And that is in a disproportional way (inconjunct).
Well, I still have the old pair and they suddenly look better than before…

Taking care of my mother takes a lot of time and energy. That is why I didn't write that much, lately. It is certainly not because of summer time. Outside autumn has started too early with wind, rain and temperatures of about 13 degrees celcius (55 degrees Fahrenheit), an absolute minimum this 'summer'. Last summer it didn't stop raining. Now, again, the barbecue remains not used, surrounded by bunches of wet green and flowers.

So, you might say that today is not a day to celebrate summer, fun and pleasure. But it is just a luxury problem and I am aware of that. Luxury, that is Venus, too.  And no, Venus didn't wear glasses! Even though she rules the eyes...

PS Have a nice and sunny weekend!

Moon inconjunct Venus

Most women are interested in the chart of the man they adore and some men are more adorable than others are. I have written about that before.

But there is a keen difference between the idol and the person that you eventually marry. Men don't get married to Angelina Jolie-look-a-likes and women don't often find men who look just like Brad Pitt. Apparently we can drink the wine with lots of water!

When we 'adore' or 'worship' our partner, we often don't see them as they are. That is why there are so many 'fallen angels' and divorces. People are people and people aren't perfect. Nobody's perfect, in fact. With that in mind I had a look at the chart of someone who married and divorced two times. Each time she said to 'adore' her lover before the wedding and each time she later said that he was no good.

What I found in the chart:

1. Venus is quintile Uranus (for creating an adventure in love). She sort of created a state of 'being in love', each time.

2. Her Venus is 'calling' so love, sweetness, luxury and pleasure was an issue, at any level. She loved perfumes, silk and small plates of luxurious food. She had Sun and Venus in Libra.

3. Moon ruler 1 opposition Saturn ruler 7th house means that she had the tendency to remember the bad things (in her relationship) most and that there was a potential for divorce.

4. The Moon was also inconjunct Venus.

Moon inconjunct Venus is better for men than it is for women and the inconjunction is creating lack of balance. This Moon inconjunct Venus describes a disproportionate need for love and emotion. The Taurus Moon and Libra Venus are placed in signs of style, love and luxury. This aspect combination is like dwelling in the house of love and luxury, eventually with a loss. She always lost her feelings for the loved one because she couldn't find a balance between wish and experience.

It is a rather sad story, because she didn't live long enough to find a nice and suitable husband. After the divorces she found a lover, when she was abroad. He tried to let her buy him gifts in a tricky manner and than it was over. Later she fell in love with an exotic singer who didn't return the feelings. Later, she started to imagine that men fell in love with her immediately (like the doctor or the captain or just a visitor in a restaurant) and everybody listened politely without  saying that what she saw wasn't reality.

She was born with ruler 1 opposition ruler 7 and that prominent Venus quintile Uranus and inconjunct Moon. The desire to fall in love over and over again - even if she had to put dark pink glased on- resulted in disappointment when the man became her husband. It must have been very hard for her, because she was a Libra with Taurus Moon, in need for company. Her first husband left her for another woman and she (and their daughter) never heard of him again. Her second husband developed a ' gambling' disorder and when she died she ordered that he was not allowed to come to the funeral. The beloved Greek remained an illusion forever.

Moon inconjunct Venus...getting out of balance for the need to be loved.

Mars inconjunct Neptune, Sun inconjunct Venus

Venus by Duval
A few days back the poll about Mars square Neptune (see right side bar or scroll down) showed that few of those who responded thought that a hard Mars-Neptune was a pleasant aspect. On Astromarkt I already showed examples of the effect of the inconjunction: getting out of balance, with the chance of a lost. Inconjunctions with Neptune often appear to go together with 'fallen angels' (idols or 'holy persons' losing their fans). Mars inconjunct Neptune, in the wrong hands, can lead to losing your job. That is what happened to David Wu now.

In the chart of Anders Breivik Mars is in aspect with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. It seems that such a complicated aspect combination doesn't help to keep a man on the right track. The same sort of aspect combination can be seen in the chart of the day of birth of David Wu.  He was born April 8, 1955 in Taiwan. On that day Mars was inconjunct Neptune, square Pluto and sextile Uranus.

PROGRESSIONS: INCONJUNCT A ' CALLING' VENUS

David Wu has rare aspects in progression.
1. His progressed Sun was inconjunct natal Venus last year.
2. Progressed Venus is semi sextile natal Sun.
That is two times problems with the ladies. Or with 'love'. Right now he is in the middle of a divorce. David Wu stepped back today, after accusations of sexual assault.

These rare progressed (and 'only' minor) aspects are so important  because of the importance of Venus in his chart. Venus is in Pisces, in the 11th degree. That means that there are no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees on April 8, 1955 and that Venus is 'calling'!
When Venus is 'calling' in a man's chart and there are such midpoint combinations like Venus opposition Uranus/Neptune ('one sided reveling in love' says Ebertin) the chance of a hype or scandal (Uranus/Neptune) regarding women might become real (but of course not without a little help of yourself).

TRANSITS
Now that he stepped back, transit Pluto is exactly opposition his progressed Mars (see chart). The Mars-Pluto combinaton is challenging and sometimes (self-) destructive.

Venus was also 'calling' in the chart of French President Mitterand. See it here:
