Divorce, Uranus and Tiger Woods

Natal, transits and progressions of Tiger Woods today

Transit Uranus is semi square his progressed (SA) Sun, now that Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren agreed to divorce (see the Telegraph). The news about Tiger and his marriage started with Uranus, when he had transit Uranus on the Descendant,  and ends with it...Tiger Woods has a minor aspect between Venus and Uranus: a half semi square (22.5 degrees.  Venus-Uranus. Venus-Uranus aspects are often mirroring affairs.
Minor aspects likea half semi square are not as 'obvious' as major aspects are.

There are a few posts about Tiger Woods:

Chart of Tiger Woods (and what he has in common with Sourav Ganguly)

Tiger Woods will be one of the speakers on Inauguration Day, in the morning. Interesting that his Mercury, symbol of communications and dispositor of his Midheaven and Ascendant, is conjunct the MC of the moment of Inauguration...

Tiger Woods is a very successful golf player. Sourav Ganguly is a famous cricket player. The tools are in both cases a stick and a ball (as you may notice, I am not an expert in sports:). In both cases there was a great influence of the father in the career. I wondered in what way their charts would be alike and I found a lot. There is a complete list when you scroll down. But first, the highlights!

You will find that both have an important Saturn, Pallas and Moon. And that they share a Gemini Midheaven. Saturn is the symbol of the parent (and ambition:) and the Moon reflects among other things, education and early years. Sourav an Tiger both have an important Pallas. Pallas is the symbol of patterns and often of importance in the charts of artists. I think Pallas is the symbol of associating (bringing together, linking, to unite ideas and experiences from the past).
Moon and Neptune are important in the pattern of artistic talents that you see on my blog Art & Astrology. They reflect imagination and vision. A golf player has to be able to 'have a vision' of the future routing of the ball. Both have Moon and Neptune close to the meridian. Here are the charts:

And here you see what they share:

1. Gemini Midheaven

2. Prominent placement of the Moon (Sourav on top,Tiger on IC)

3. Prominence of Saturn (Sourav oriental, Tiger 'calling'*)

4. Important Pallas: Pallas sesquisquare ASC/MC and on DESC, square Midheaven (Woods) and Pallas semi square Sun/Moon and conjunct Mercury ruler ASC and MC (Sourav)

5. Both have Moon and Neptune close to the meridian
Moon on ASC/MC for Tiger, Neptune on ASC/MC for Sourav

6. Moon in movable sign

7. They share major aspects between:
- Sun and Uranus
- Moon and Mars
- Mercury and Saturn
- Venus and Saturn
- Jupiter and Pluto

8. Aries Point is involved in a midpoint combination that includes Jupiter and Pluto

Woods AP sq Sun/Moon, opp Venus/Saturn, semisq Jupiter/Neptune, conj Sun/Mars, sesqu Mars/Pluto and semi sq Mars/Jupiter

Ganguly AP sesquisquare Jupiter/Pluto, 157.5 Mercury/Jupiter and Mercury/Pluto, square Jupiter/MC and sesquisquare Pluto/MC and AP square Jupiter

BTW, Jupiter is the symbol of support, joy and a positive attitude. Woods' Jupiter is square Ganguly's ASC/MC, Ganguly's Jupiter is conjunct Woods' Sun/Moon. And this is the picture of the two together.

*) 'Calling' = without Ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. Oriental means: rising before the Sun as first important planet

The Moon and the women in Tiger Woods' chart

Again and again I see minor aspects having major impact and I see how minor aspects reveal the real person behind the chart. In Tiger Woods’ chart Jupiter in the 7th house is reflecting a trend to have more than one partner (see the post about that), but at first sight he doesn’t have the usual aspects for divorce*) in the chart of man. But, at second sight…

Tiger Woods’ prominent Sagittarian Moon (opposition Midheaven) IS afflicted by Saturn and Neptune. There are parallel aspects. Moon is parallel Neptune and contraparallel Saturn. That gives him 2 out of 4 potential problems to keep a relationship going. It means that parallels and contra parallels have an effect. It is as if there is a need to escape (Moon-Neptune) and a lack of sens of responsibility (Moon-Saturn).
David Letterman has the same kind of afflictions and he also came to confessions during aspects with Uranus.
See about Confessions of David Letterman

INTENSE NEED TO BREAK FREE (discretely)
There is another difficulty. That is Moon quintile Pluto. This aspect expresses strong needs and a creative way to submit to these needs. He is rich and famous enough to be able to get whatever he needs. The intensity of habits can be a domestic problem. See the post about Moon and Pluto…
Uranus on his Descendant disturbed his relationship in a shocking way. Uranus is semi square the Moon in the natal chart. Perhaps he needs tension, excitement and adventures. He needs changes and different stages. His personal life is rather hectic. Maybe he found those needs in matches, before. The combination of minor aspects of Moon with Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto could be read as a need to break free in a discrete way. Unfortunately, Uranus is for exposure. And with transit Uranus opposition Ascendant there is a slight chance that your ‘ ways of doing it’ will be exposed.

AC/MC and Pallas
There is hard aspect between the crucial midpoint AC/MC with Pallas, symbol of patterns. I think that his abilities on the field are related to being able to see patterns. Pallas is often important in the charts of artistic and talented persons who need to be able to see matching lines and structures. On Art&Astrology you may find several examples of that. The transit of Uranus is about to hit Pallas and later AC/MC. Maybe a certain pattern (Pallas) will change and maybe there will be a completely new Tiger Woods when Uranus moves on to find another celebrity to be the next hype on the internet. In the meantime Uranus has offered both Tiger and Elin a chance to make a fresh new start.

RELATED:
Do Tiger and Elin match? No they do not!

I want to point at the earlier post about Matt Damon. Matt Damon is a man in control. Matt Damon has Moon trine Saturn and that makes it easy to control needs. Tiger Woods’ Moon contra parallel with Saturn works as an opposition. It is a ??? if he manages to control his needs…Apparently he can’t.

*)What are those aspects? They are: Moon afflicted by Saturn and/or Neptune, Venus afflicted by Neptune and Mars afflicted by Uranus, according to late Dutch astrologer Ram (and indeed, it is still valid). (A conjunction with difficult planets should be regarded as an affliction.)

PS As I accidently published an earlier concept (without image) I had to partly rewrite the original post.

Tiger Woods breaking news

Tiger Woods was on CNN today (see the breaking news) with transit Uranus exactly trine the progressed Midheaven. Uranus is the symbol of excitement and breaking news. When he became a hot news item, transit Uranus was on his Descendant.

Tiger Woods made a statement (see Golf.com) about how sorry he is. Transit Saturn exactly square Progressed Sun tells me that he means it. It is a very depressing transit.

Glory of a hole-in-1 and the chart

A successful moment in life shows in the chart and it doesn't have to be a world wide success or a career advancement. You may have transit Jupiter on your side on a golf course.

My husband learns to play golf since 1 year. After 2 'birdies' in the past half year, he now had a 'hole-in-1'. There was excitement, a publication and a lot of congratulations! His chart joined the party, in many ways.

Jupiter is an important key to success. Transits of Jupiter sometimes do nothing at all. I think that is also, because it takes more than 2 (say 3:) indications for success in a chart to really reflect something memorable. On the hole-in-one day, my husband had:

- transit Jupiter square Sun (new success)
- transit Jupiter trine Moon (happy moment to remember)
- transit Venus (ruler 5th house, house of plays and games) on Progressed Midheaven (wish coming true)
- transit Pluto conjunct Progressed Mars (winning strike:)
- transit Mercury conjunct natal Pluto
- transit Venus conjunct Uranus (ruler 5)

There is always an important Pallas in the charts of those who play these games. You must have an eye for patterns, for 'how things swing'. He has. He has Sun/Moon semi square Pallas.

It seems that there are insurances for the risk of a hole-in-one, as there are tournaments with the rule that you must buy all members a drink when you hit that. He was just playing with another member, so the fact that Jupiter is his ruler 2 in 2 will only lead to a big pie party in the club house. I think...

In a chart, success never comes alone. And when you have a success, many want to be part of it. Even my chart joines in it! Transit Jupiter is opposition my Sun/Moon midpoint. The opposition often refers to 'others'. Spotlights (sun/moon) on the success (Jupiter) of others (opposition).  This post is one of those spotlight:).

So, if you have 2 Jupiter transits AND one of Venus, you may have a lucky day. And that is the lesson of this:)

LINKS
Unfortunately, there is no video of the fortunate swing. But you can see Tiger Woods' hole-in-one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufscYVbYLQQ  More on Tiger Woods on this blog: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/search?q=Tiger+Woods

PS You may notice that his Sun must be square my Sun/Moon midpoint. The Sun/Moon midpoint of a woman is often related to the Sun  of her husband, like with Victoria and Albert, Onassis and Jackie, or other planets in the husband's chart... or vice versa. Jupiter trine MC: support for Tiger Woods

Ain’t that nice!? Transit Jupiter is working in the chart of Tiger Woods today, now that his co-golfers named him Player of the Year. That is exactly with transit Jupiter trine his Midheaven. Of course there is still transit Neptune inconjunct Ascendant and he lost Tag Heuer as a sponsor, but this is important support. He may not be a perfect husband, but he is a very good golf player. In fact: the best.

Transits of Jupiter may not change the world (and sometimes they don't even change a thing:) but they contribute to confidence and feeling good, even in difficult times.

Uranus, inconvenience and Al Gore's chart

Al Gore won’t come to Copenhagen; he cancelled the meeting. Does ‘ Climategate’ have anything to do with it? First, he planned to go, he is the leading figure in the global warming hype, he is expected to be there. What on earth kept him out of the plane this time? It is Uranus, that inconvenient planet of disturbance.

Here is the chart, with progressions and transits (courtesy Astrodatabank) for the day that he was expected to be in Copenhagen, the 16th of December. Uranus is exactly on the Descendant (just like in Tiger Woods’ chart). Something came up, something inconvenient, a revelation, newspapers…and it disturbed the ordinary routine. (Uranus is the symbol of the alarm, the exposure and the ‘ truth’ and came from the 6th house to cross over the horizon). And in Al Gore's case that inconvenience might be: Climategate. The Climate conference in Copenhagen would start on December 16, whit New Moon in the 25th degree of Sagittarius, a degree of an excessive party and exaggeration (according to Janduz). Had Al Gore come to Copenhagen, he could have become involved in a hectic situation, maybe even in an accident. That is because Uranus is the planet of (sometimes unpleasant) surprises and twists of faith, like Tiger Woods found out. Maybe an astrologer adviced Al Gore to stay home?:)

The Venus and Pholus of Whoopi Goldberg

Oops, Whoopi Goldberg confessed that she has been untrue, too! I couldn’t believe it just like that, I just had to see her chart. And there he was: Pholus, now conjunct her progressed Mercury (symbol of communications). It was perhaps a statement that was ‘ bubbling up’; sort of a message in bottle, uncorked just like that...
The conjunction of Progressed Mercury and natal Pholus reveals a mental turning point. Pholus is also semi sextile her progressed Sun and transit Saturn is semi square her natal Sun/Moon midpoint (and that might make her family life a little colder today).

THREE MARRIAGES
Of course it takes a marriage or a relationship to be able to cheat.
In the natal chart we see Jupiter in the 7th house (multiple marriage), conjunct Pluto (perhaps for an awful lot of marriages). I checked the internet and found out that she married and divorced three times. For more about multiple marriages, click this link to see the post on this blog.
BTW Jupiter and Pluto are in hard minor aspect with the midpoint of Ascendant and Midheaven and that is a statement for success.

LOVE AND ROMANCE
Her Venus is ‘ calling’ on Midheaven; this is reflecting entertainment and style at any possible level, related to her career. The Moon is also important (in Scorpio, rising before her Sun and quintile Jupiter; she has a strong need to defend those of her party, side, family etcetera). Neptune is the first outer planet rising before the Sun. Moon, Venus and Neptune are important. That is how I see the pattern of artistic talent in her chart. There is also a novile between Venus and Neptune.

The same pattern also shows romantic feelings (Moon and Venus for feelings, Neptune for romance). Thats one of the reasons why there are so many divorces in the world of entertainment. The fact that Venus is calling on Midheaven and in the sign of Sagittarius ' helps' to ' hunt' in love. Sagittarius is not the most faithful position for Venus. A Venus in Sagittarius in a bad marriage loves to pack her bags or take a short trip if she can. Whoopi could.
You see, her Uranus doesn’t make major aspects in 5 degrees or in sign and that makes her Uranus ‘ calling’, too. Uranus is the symbol of rebellion, independence and upheaval, now and then. Did I already mention that Mars in Libra is ‘ calling’? With Venus and Mars ‘ calling’ this is what you get: passion, anyhow, somehow. Seven positions in fixed signs didn’t keep her in her marriages and even didn’t stop her from seeing others or from keeping this a secret, in spite of her Scorpio Sun, Moon, Mercury and Saturn. That is how strong a ' calling' Venus, Mars, Moon and Uranus are.
(With a bit of fantasy you could read the prominent four like this: need for passionate adventures... or driven by falling in love again and again...It all depends on who and where and in what age (and time or place) you are with such a combination. The combination and in particular the prominent Venus is also reflecting the fun that she has and that she gives us with her characters.)

SUPPORT FOR TIGER WOODS
What Whoopi said was related to the troubles of Tiger Woods and she probably ment to support him. His Jupiter is biquintile her Sun and her Jupiter is quintile his Mars and square his Venus. Jupiter is the reflection of support and in this case of mutual help.

Tiger Woods and transit Uranus

Uranus is the symbol of incidents, accidents and sensational news. The inconjunction is reflecting lack of proportion. So when a person has transit Uranus inconjunct progressed Ascendant, it is to be expected that there is a lot to do about his relationship and there is a risk for accidents. Tiger Woods has transit Uranus close to the natal Descendant right now and inconjunct progressed Ascendant. He is in the news because of an accident by car (but, he is not seriously injured) and there is a story about a very angry partner...here is the chart with transits and progressions.

For more about his chart and the similarities with the chart of Surav Ganguli, see the earlier post...(click here)

The amazing transits of Uranus

It’s the ‘Month of the Transits’ on Astropost and this time it is about transit Uranus. Uranus is the 'different' planet. The axis of rotation is tilted sideways. It is not the first time that a transit of Uranus was mentioned here. Astropost focuses on the news and Uranus happens to be the symbol of news (all that is new, surprising and shocking; food for newspapers). Transits of Uranus are a sort of a guarantee for VIP’s to see their photo in the papers. Uranus stimulates the hypes and the (together with Neptune) the ‘hoax’. Transit of Uranus come by surprise. They accompany surgery, accidents (with Mars), sudden shocking changes (for example in your opinion, with Mercury, or habits, with the Moon or preferences with Venus). What happens depends on the setting, the natal chart and other conditions.  With transit Uranus conjunct Jupiter I had  a. positive news about my health, b. I moved to a better place, 3. I suddenly got out of a nasty situation. Surprise, upheavel, shocks, amazement and tension seem to be illustrated by the transit of Uranus.  The nature of the aspect, existing similar aspects in the natal chart and the situation in general tell us what to expect. But with Uranus: prepare to expect the unexpected and unpredictable.
With Uranus on the Asendant the situation is changing. I remember that I started to frequent the internet during this transit. With Uranus conjunct Mars there is a risk of fighting or an arrest and of accidents of any kind. This transit will disturb your energy, drives and actions or …aggression. With Uranus in aspect with Venus you might suddenly fall in love or find a new gadget (...!). Scandalls and sensational events, but also a fresh new approach are among the examples in the list.
Posted in 2009: Uranus in aspect with Midheaven or square Ascendant can be tumultuous or even embarrassing.
“The progressed conjunction of Uranus and Midheaven in today’s chart of Prince Harry of England. He makes controversial and shocking remarks and has to do a training.

Transit Uranus opposition the Midheaven of Mata Hari when she was convicted to death, to her surprise and astonishment

Transit Uranus afflicting progressed Ascendant and Midheaven in Sarah Palin’s chart (starting the investigation of abuse of power)

Transit Uranus opposition Midheaven in the chart of Joe Biden (when his mother in law died and his son went to Iraq in the middle of election time)

Transit Uranus inconjunct Midheaven in Jesse Jackson’s chart (when he spoke of Obama’s balls)

The transit Midheaven quindecile Beenhakker’s Uranus when he lost the match Austria-Poland

The life changing accident of Frida Kahlo was accompanied by a couple of transits and progressions. One of them was transit Uranus inconjunct Ascendant.

Jupiter-Uranus’ transits often mean a relief…

The ‘sunsign’  hoax of January and the transits of Uranus and Neptune

“WITH URANUS: YOU ARE IN THE NEWS...
This controversy goes with a transit of Uranus semi square her natal Midheaven and the negative review of the past is reflected by the inconjunction of transit Neptune with her progressed IC.” And this was about Ingrid Betancourt…

I had an accident with transit Uranus semi square Mercury, resonating the Mercury-Uranus opposition in the natal chart. Very typical it was a matter of communications.

The divorce of Spanish Princess Elena was with:
“ Transit Uranus at 22d43m Pisces is exactly conjunct her Progressed Venus and both are square the progressed Ascendant.”
Uranus was also ‘there’ when Tiger Woods’ marriage ended:

King Juan Carlos and his ‘love child’  were in the news with transit Uranus:
When Alberto was born transit Uranus was opposition the midpoint Sun/Moon of Juan Carlos.

Jennifer Hudson experienced a family drama with transit Uranus:

The famous revolutions didn’t have Uranus in Aries….

Transit Uranus trine Sun and sesquisquare Midheaven during the final show of Larry King.

An innocent convict was released later with transit Uranus exactly trine progressed Jupiter. Just before his trial he had transit Uranus opposition Ascendant and sextile Jupiter (the easy way out of interrogations, pleading guilty).

By the way, the sextile doesn’t seem to be as ‘good’ as the trine is…See the label ‘sextile’ to see more examples of the sextile as the ‘too’ easy way out.

Chart of Roger Federer (married yesterday)

Top tennis player Roger Federer married Mirka Vavrinec, yesterday. The party was easy to see in the astrological picture of the sky. See the progressed chart and transits above. This post is about the transits and progressions symbolising the party. And...Roger Federer's Midheaven is in Gemini. I will mention more examples of Gemini Midheaven in the charts of those who use their arms and hands in their professions in this post.

THE PARTY
- Venus is the symbol of having fun, love and marriage. The progressed chart shows the growing situation (after development). Venus was on the cusp of the 7th house of marriage in his progressed chart.
- The Sun is the symbol of drawing attention and being in the centre of attention (like a person is on his wedding day:). The Ascendant is the symbol of a situation or presentation. The Progressed Sun was conjunct natal Ascendant.
- Jupiter is the symbol of joy, growth and progress. The progressed Sun was semi sextile Jupiter.

Venus and Jupiter together are the combination of the big party and great joy*).
To complete the party, transit Jupiter was also square the Moon.

GEMINI MIDHEAVEN
Federer's natal chart (above) has Gemini on Midheaven. I found more charts of famous sport players using their hands and arms with Gemini related to Midheaven or ruler Midheaven.

- Golf player Tiger Woods Gemini Midheaven
- Cricket player Sourav Ganguli's Gemini Midheaven
- Golf player Ballesteros ruler Midheaven (Mars) in Gemini
- Tennis player Justine Henin (born June 1, 1982 Liège Belgium at 12:30 pm) has Sun and Mercury on top of her chart, in Gemini
- Stefi Graf (born June 14, 1969 in Mannheim at 4:40 CET) has an Aquarius Midheaven. Uranus (ruler of the Midheaven) is in Virgo. And Mercury rules Virgo. Mercury is in Gemini. Mercury is the final dispositor of the Midheaven.
- The natal chart of Venus Williams (see Astrodatabank ) has Mercury conjunct the Cancer Midheaven. The Moon (ruler of Midheaven) is in Leo and the Sun (ruler of Leo) is in Gemini...

Exception:
Venus' sister Serena's Mercury is two times important: Mercury is 'calling' and Mercury is on the Desendant (but there is no Gemini influence in her chart).

Cold feet and chocolate story

Ending an affair (or making a decision at all) can be difficult. It is difficult for Libra. It is difficult for people without squares. And it is even more difficult when you have too much sextiles (5), no squares, and a Libra Moon, Venus and Mars. Libra is the sign of relating, being together, balance and company.
Someone I know was about to settle down, but he was not 30 yet and a Sagittarius with a Sagittarian Ascendant and Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune in Sagittarius, too, very Sagittarius. Very Sagittarius males want to be or feel free, at least when they are young. So he got cold feet, but he was too polite (Moon Libra, Venus Libra) to tell her directly. Or maybe he was just cruel enough not to tell her directly (he has Saturn and Pluto without major aspects, and Pluto = Venus/Saturn, so that makes him a ‘die hard’ in love). Or maybe he just waited until he found a replacement for his need for company (Moon Libra!). The easy way out was steeper than he had imagined, I suppose. She threw him out when he did a ‘Tiger Woods’.

That was with transit Saturn square progressed Sun, a perfect transit to end a period, say goodbye and break up. Transit Saturn came right after transit Uranus inconjunct Venus (reflecting an affair, an adventure, falling in love, but*…yes, but he had another!).

Cold feet. There are 5 sextiles in his chart and there is no square. Some other girl had to help him out and open the door to freedom again. He couldn’t decide for himself and almost had a giant mortgage. Sometimes, when Saturn comes bye and breaks something , it is maybe better. Mortgages may be scary, but there are other kind of restrictions, responsibilities and limitations now. He also is a bit lonely, now. The other girl was just ' the other girl'. Sigh...

This kind of thing also happens at work. There are persons who can’t decide to leave a job, even it they know that if they stay, they will turn into slaves. They keep hanging on, because they are too loyal or because they are afraid of changes or because they like to hang around and feel at home (like with Venus in Cancer). A lot of them are waiting for the lottery to release them. Some manage to be fired. Others find comfort in hobbies and pleasures or they eat a lot of chocolate. Hmm, if the young man of this story had not found an available girl, he would have had to stay and make the best of it. He would have to eat a lot of chocolate to make it feel good. He has Moon and Venus sextile Jupiter, he would love the chocolate, lots of it!

* inconjunctions have to do with a ‘ but’, often. The inconjunction is between a trine and an opposition, between an easy flow and asking yourself questions. Venus-Uranus is for falling in love and a preference for a change or excitement. There is something out of line with an inconjunction. There is a ‘ but’, something that hinders the easy flow

Orcus, oaths and link to ephemerides

Is Orcus the symbol of oaths (or solemn promises) and the punishment for not keeping them? Or let us say: the issue of keeping oaths or not?

Recently I watched the effect of Orcus in the chart of a man who heard about his unfaithful fourth wife. (young enough to be his daughter). I also noticed that Diana and Charles shared a tight aspect between Sun and Orcus (both charts have a Sun-Orcus aspect). See Astrology and Love about it...(the post will be on the blog on August 4, 2010).

Then I thought that it was time to investigate some charts and the position of Orcus. What examples could I use? I tried very ancient ones…something new and it is always somewhat blue…and yes! Orcus is 'involved' whenever oaths are being broken. But I still hope to find some positive and pleasant examples some day. This little 'study' is not final and just a beginning. Maybe it is an inspiration to start your own study about the effect of Orcus.
BTW, also in this post: link to ephemerides...

Bachelors, cheats and their charts

Johan Tobias Sergel (source: Svenska Turistföreningens årsskrift 1967)
Any man with two or more (hard) aspects like between Mars and Uranus, Moon and Saturn, Moon and Neptune or Venus and Neptune has a hard time to find mrs. Right. When they get married, they don't stop liking the other girls or they find out that they didn't marry the true love of their life...That is because such an ideal woman doesn't exist (for them). They will have to compromise and some manage to do so when they get older. Perhaps they can control themselves, but for some it is very hard. Of course, there are unfaithful women, too. There will be a post about them next time. This post is about men who cheat (they are supposed to be the number one cheaters:).

What makes a man cheat? It is hard to be true when Venus is calling*) you and you are a charming person:)! It is hard to be true when you love some 'alternation' or when you keep falling in love! It is also hard to be true when you are stuck in a marriage with a mortgage and a few children (Venus-Saturn) and when you are a boy who wants to have fun (Mars in the 5th, for example). There are so much difficulties on the way to eternal true love!

Of course, it depends on culture and time in history how a man deals with those 'problems'. I guess Mr. Neanderthal didn't worry too much about it. Henry VIII divorced several times. He had the chance and the position. Picture this: he had Moon quintile Saturn and semisquare Neptune, Venus opposition Neptune (and inconjunct Uranus), Mars 105d Uranus, all four of the 'difficulties' in his progressed chart when he married! Poor man:). There were only harmonious distances when he was born! His position changed and that made him a candidate for marriages with women who could never meet his standards.

In Europe people don't marry too soon, so there is fewer risk of divorce (their relationships 'just' end). For example, I know a good looking man of 50, still a batchelor, lots of lovers and friends, good  job, with Sun conjunct Uranus (rising before the Sun), Mars biquintile Uranus and Moon inconjunct Saturn. Had he married, he would have divorced, too. Now he doesn't have to deal with money issues following a divorce.

Some guys are lucky and marry a woman who don't mind if they have others. Some queens and Jacqie Kennedy and other women prefer wealth over true love. The official wife and the lover attended the funeral of Mr. Mitterand (Moon in Libra rising before the Sun, Venus 'calling', Mars quintile Uranus, Jupiter in the 8th house.., see the link).

Some guys were less fortunate and their affairs got lots of attention.Tiger Woods, for example. His Moon, Venus and Neptune are in the 3rd house, rising before the Sun. Maybe that is an addition to the 4 'classical' indications given by the astrologer Ram...

MORE EXAMPLES
1. I know of another person whose wife is as tolerant as Mrs.Mitterand was has Mars sesquisquare Uranus and Venus (calling!) semi square Saturn with Moon quatronovile Neptune. Those three aspects are in line with what I mentioned before. Venus is also semi square Pluto (for intense desires). All in all: a charming man with a short fuse and intense desires whose chart tells me that it will be hard to continue this marriage.

2. The chart of a cheat who didn't divorce but lives with his lover has Jupiter in the 8th, a prominent Moon on the IC, Venus on the Descendant and 'calling'(no major aspects), Moon opposition Neptune and sextile Venus (with Venus trine Neptune), Venus inconjunct Saturn (for staying married, but...not true). This man also has Venus conjunct Orcus (in the 7th house). Orcus is the symbol of (broken) promisses.

From those examples you learn that the 4 basic 'trouble makers' are almost always there. But, to be able to cheat, first of all you need to see and contact women. What makes it easier to connect to women?

- Moon in Taurus or Venus in Libra helps to look nice:)
- Venus in the 3rd house helps you to connect with women, too.
- Aspects between Moon and Venus show the need for love and the love for women (all of them...).
- Venus-Uranus is for adventures with women or just for dancing:).
- Venus-Neptune is for romancing...
- Jupiter in the 8th house contributes to your potential. You have to be strong to have more than one woman:)
You see these indications in the examples above. Many of those indications are part of the pattern of artistic talents (see Art&Astrology), too. So if your man is not an artist and he has more than 2 of those indications, and you want your husband to be true, beware!:)

How do I know? I studied the charts of Mick Jager, John F. Kennedy (see Astrology&Love) and Bill Clinton, who has Moon in Taurus and Venus in Libra, both in hard aspect with Neptune. I also have the chart of manager with Moon in Taurus, Jupiter in the 8th house, Moon septile Venus and Venus trine Neptune who cheated on his wife more than once.
Why is this study not complete? I don't know if the others were true, always!:)

Transit Jupiter in 12th house

In an effort to understand why I was ‘ skipped by Jupiter’ and transit Jupiter sextile Sun and MC and conjunct progressed Sun had no positive effect (on the contrary, the doctor told me that I had H1N1, Mexican Flu), I keep seeking answers. I may have found one. I blame the 12th house!

I sought for the answer in ‘ Predictive astrology’ – The eagle and the lark – by Bernadette Brady. The 12th house is related to being alone, someting hidden, being ill, intuition and the paranormal, she says. I also read a book written before the Second World War, by Else Parker. There I found an interesting passage about Jupiter's transit through the 12th house (where transit Jupiter is right now, in my chart). Jupiter's transits in the 12th house is only a remedy, helping against things that 'could be worse' (like my flu:)...
The results of my ' quest' may not be surprising: I also found that the final transit of Jupiter is the most effective one.
But does this all explain the lack of positive or noticable effect in all cases? Please do the poll (on the left on my blog). Let us see if the 12th house was involved when your FINAL Jupiter transit ' failed'. If not, there must be another answer...

BRADY's METHOD
Using the method to read transits as described in this book, I understood WHY Jupiter worked as Jupiter did. Let me explain the method and show you that it works for reading my transit Jupiter (ruler 10 in 12, transit in 12) sextile Sun and Midheaven (Sun in 10, Placidus co-dispositor of 6th house).
The method consist of seeking the CAUSE in the natal house, the SITUATION in the transit house and the final RESULTS or effect in the rulerships (natal house). The book lists a number of causes, situations and results related to the meanings of the houses.

The planet in transit has a position in the birth chart. The houses of the planets in the birth chart describe the CAUSE. My Jupiter on the Ascendant but still in 12 was sextile the Sun on Midheaven in 10. Transit Jupiter sextile Sun/MC should be read as Transit natal 12 sextile natal 10 = cause. The 12th house is considered to be the house of seclusion (for example due to illnesses) and the 10th is the public house (career, status and condition). I visited the doctor because I could not go to work, I had the flu.

The house where the planet in transit is in (in this case, the 12th again) describes the SITUATION. That is correct. I was ill.

The houses ruled by the planets in aspect describe the RESULT. In my case Jupiter rules the 10th house and the Sun is the Placidus co-ruler 6 and the dispositor of the 6th equal and whole sign house. The flu, of course had a result for my job and daily routine.

I BLAME THE TRANSIT IN THE 12TH HOUSE
So, should I blame the 12th house position of Jupiter and the fact that the transit of Jupiter was in the 12th, sextile the ruler of the 6th house? I have a very old book by Else Parker. She wrote (in 1953!) that
the transit of Jupiter through the 12th house never brings ‘an easy time’ but that the transit will remind you about sunshine following rain and about the sun behind the clouds. She also noted that periods of rest (…) and devoted pondering would turn out to be of more value than a rush for material advancement. In the end, she promised☺, Jupiter’s transit through the 12th house contributes to to the idea that all dark and difficult things ‘ might have been worse’.
And that is fact (H1N1 is sometimes lethal).

But that would implicate that any transit of Jupiter leads to a 12-house CAUSE and any transit made with Jupiter creates a 12-house situation, while it always affects my status, career and position. Jupiter is conjunct the Ascendant and strongly influences the 1st house because of the conjunction.

I tested more transits with Jupiter.
a. Transit Jupiter conjunct Sun and Midheaven ‘brought’ me a new car, twice. It is in Sagittarius☺ . That is a 12-10 CAUSE, a 10th house SITUATION and a 10-6 RESULT.
New cars alter a bit of the daily routine in a pleasant way and it changes your ‘ wordly’ position. Perhaps the 12th house natal position should indeed be considered a first house one (because of the conjunction with the Ascendant).
So it seems that the fact that Jupiter was transit in the 12th house had the strongest (negative) effect (for the SITUATION) and that is what counted: being ill!
b. The last time that Jupiter was sextile Sun was in 1997, with the final ' hit' in December. The cause and situation were not related to me in person, but I benefitted from it (though I also ' suffered' from the situation). A real 12th house situation: I am not explaining it here:)
c. There had been sextiles from transit Jupiter before, in April and September of 2009. And nothing of importance happened...The flu was with the final transit.

QUEST
I keep looking for reasons and explanations. To explain the fact that Jupiter's transits sometimes just skipp you. there are texts that say that it is you, you and you who is responsible for not seeing the opportunities when Jupiter comes bye. Blame the victim, LOL!:) I wonder what kind of an opportunity there were, having a fever? And how about persons released by a nice judge, during a transit of Jupiter? What kind of opportunity is it to just happen to face a nice judge? The kind of opportunities that you can see or make, don't need a Jupiter transit. And a 12th house position implicates that things happen (miracles and disasters...).
Tiger Woods had support coming from his co-golfers, at a moment that he wasn't playing at all and with a negative press all over the world. He had transit Jupiter trine MC when his fellow players named him the best!*) Transits of Jupiter help you or they just don't. Unless they transit in the 12th house in which case you just have to be humble and grateful for what might have been worse, I suppose.

This all explains the 12th house transit of Jupiter in my chart, I hope. Maybe it also explains why your Jupiter had no effect (was the 12th house involved?). Of course, you have to consider the side effect of progressions and other transits. I know that my ' side effect' came from progressed Sun opposition Pluto. So I already decided to be grateful that H1N1 made me ill for weeks but didn't kill me after all `yet' (LOL!). And that my reading (getting an international virus) really fitted this aspect.

NEXT
The last week of January 2010 transit Jupiter will be conjunct Jupiter. It is a great moment to test if
a) Jupiter on the edge of the first house should be considered not to be in the 12th (and than I won't be ill); a 1-1 or 12-12 CAUSE and SITUATION
b) a Jupiter return increases optimism and conviction (how can I try not to be influenced and start chearing now?)
c) if there is a strong effect on my career or CONDITION (status) for whatever cause or situation
or if Jupiter will again ' skipp me' !
In February 2010 transit Jupiter moves to the first house. There will be no excuses any more, then:)!

*) His Jupiter is in the natal 7, the Sun in 4. Business relations, partners and family are the cause of support. Situation: Jupiter is in the 5th house by transit (being occupied with entertainment, love and …playing). And the result is a message from friends (3 and 11).

Orcus, Saturn and Obama

This blog is about Saturn afflicting Orcus or vice versa. Example: Barack Obama.

President Obama is running for president again. Sometimes the polls are good (during transit Jupiter inconjunct progressed Sun, for example), but there is also a negative tendency reflected by the quincunx of Neptune with his progressed Sun. That transit comes back more often than Jupiter does and will still be active in November 2012, election time. There is little balance in the positive and negative view of the to be expected results. And there is more...Right now Saturn is square his progressed and natal Orcus. The final 'hit' is July 7. It doesn't 'sound' like a happy transit and this transit is important for Obama for a few reasons:

1. In the natal chart of Obama Saturn happens to be quindecile (that is a 165d aspect) Orcus...and
2. his Orcus is conjunct the midpoint Ascendant/Midheaven
3. Saturn is elevated in his progressed chart
4. He has a responsible (Saturnal) position

This all makes Saturn-Orcus quite important. And that means that the actual transit will resonate louder than in the charts of other people, who were not born with a Saturn-Orcus minor or major aspect.

When President Obama was elected, he promised change (yes, we can). More than 3 years later the people think that things changed the bad way and they blame him. Over 40% think that the economy was better off before he became the President of the USA. That is heavy and Saturn is the symbol of what is heavy.

Orcus, a transneptunian, is the mythical symbol of broken promises, contracts and oaths. Saturn is the symbol of blame, criticism, endings, restrictions and responsibilities. A square is a problem to overcome. A quindecile is the symbol of an obsession or strong focus. I think that Saturn-Orcus is reflecting being blamed or being held responsible for an oath or broken promise.

Here is the chart for now:

ORCUS
See more about Orcus... on this blog. Read about the reflection of Orcus in the charts of divorced couples (like Charles and Diana, Jesse James and Sandra Bullock, Tiger and Ellen Woods, John Lennon/Yoko Ono) and the Saturn-Orcus-Sun-combination in the chart of Mussert. In 1941 he swoar to follow Hitler (and this oath was kept a secret, even to the members of his movement). After the war he was executed. His Orcus is sesquisquare Saturn, Saturn is inconjunct Sun and Orcus is 75 degrees from the Sun.   http://astropost.blogspot.com/2010/08/orcus-oaths-and-link-to-ephemerides.html
A less dramatic Orcus is showing up in a chart when contracts need to be signed (for example, a mortgage). See:http://astropost.blogspot.com/2011/04/transit-orcus-contracts-and-oaths.html
A specific case is the relationship between John Edwards and Andrew Young. I quote my blog about them:
...the Orcus of Edwards is exactly square the Mercury of Young. Orcus is the deity noted for punishing those who break oaths. The Orcus of Young is conjunct the Ascendant of Edwards, who has Mars conjunct Orcus. In fact, both of them broke oaths...
