Astrology of Pope Benedict stepping back

There have been a number of posts about Pope Benedict on this blog and they were often wrapped in a blanket of worries about his condition, but...as a true 'Saturn calling' *) he remained on his post. Now he steps back and even though he is 85, the head of a world church in trouble and apparently not healthy, people are surprised. They are surprised because popes tend to be pope until they die. Watch the chart, progressions and transits, consider the man and his situation, and see that there is reason enough to have some rest.

1. The progressed chart has Pluto on the Ascendant. Pluto rules the 8th natal house of life and death and is in the 4th of endings. Pluto on the Ascendant describes stressful situations and pressure (though he says there was no pressure on him when he decided to stop on February 28). Something transforms when Pluto is on one of the corners of the chart.


2. Transit Uranus square progressed Mars (important because of the opposition with Midheaven in the natal chart) means change, too.

3. Progressed Sun quintile Progressed Chiron might be creative in a healing process or point at the creative attendance of doctors.

4. On February 28 transit Jupiter is novile Progressed Sun for rejoycing that life gets better.

5. The most negative aspect is transit Neptunus quindecile progressed IC. It focusses on a weak basis.

6. Transit Pholus square midpoint AC/MC mirrors the crucial point of no return.

Today he surprised (transit Uranus) the world by breaking (Saturn) free (Uranus).

Midpoint combinations: 3 in 1

Today I wanted to write about the death of Michael Hutchence (INXS), 15 years ago, but a comment on this blog about midpoints made me change my mind. So now I'll tell you about midpoint combinations and about midpoint combinations in the chart of Hutchence at the time of his death.

Here is some of my take on midpoint combinations.
a. Midpoint combinations are combinations of a position (planet/angle) in hard aspect with a midpoint (like Sun/Venus opposition Moon)
b. Midpoint combinations are the combination of all three of the positions involved (like Sun/Moon/Venus)
c. I prefer to use a 1,5 degree orb for the aspect with the midpoint combination
d. Tight aspects of 3 positions are an aspect combination (and often they form a midpoint combination as well).

THE MIXED MIDPOINT COMBINATION
I have written about midpoint combinations before here and on Astromarkt. What I always do is: mixing the three positions. There are more astrologers who do as I do. They generally disregard the subtle differences between, for example, Sun/Moon conjunct Venus and Moon/Venus semi square Sun. I see a Sun/Moon/Venus combination in both cases. I'd note them as Sun/Moon=Venus and Moon/Venus=Sun.
The first combination is important for being motivated by beauty, women, art and pleasure.
The second one highlights a need for luxury and style.
But in the end it is all about love life, entertainment and luxury in heart and soul. That is why my midpoint combinations are 3 in 1.

THE SINGER OF INXS (MICHAEL HUTCHENCE)
I mentioned Michael Hutchence, so why not use his chart as an example. Michael Hutchence was a singer and that was easy to see in his chart. Mercury was calling (no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees) and angular. This double prominence reflected the importance of communicating (writing, speaking, singing) somehow and anyhow, at any possible level.

Here you see the natal chart with transits and progressions for the final day. Michael Hutchence committed suicide soon after arguments on telephone and possibly under the influence of medication, drugs or alcohol. He suffered from depression and had divorced in the year before his death. In that situation he had alarming transits and progressions.

In astrology the 8th house is the house of crisis (life and death). Inconjunctions refer to loss. Uranus inconjunct Pluto is the symbol of unbalancing dramatic change or revolution with a loss involved. Trines seem nice, but they often point at the easy way out.
When Michael Hutchence died with an exact trine of progressed Sun (ruler 8th natal house) with Neptune and transit Uranus inconjunct Pluto in 8, he also had midpoint combinations.  I counted a total of 8 indications related to what happened, but here I like to mention the midpoint and aspect combinations:

1. Transit Neptune conjunct the progressed midpoint of Ascendant and Midheaven (AC/MC).

The AC/MC midpoint is the corner stone of the chart. Transit Neptune tends to weaken and confuse. With Neptune you can't really get a grip on things.
AC/MC=Neptune points at the importance of fantasy, ideals and dreams, in the natal chart. It is a gift for an artist or a prophet. But a curse in nasty situations.

2. Transit Neptunus conjunct Ascendant and Mercury
This transit Neptune was crossing the Ascendant and Mercury, too, in that same period before his death.  Mercury is for the mind. This transit confused the mind set.
The combination of Mercury, Ascendant and Neptune gives a tendency to be open for influences from outside and makes it easier to be harmed (see COSI*) or to be disappointed. It doesn't matter how you turn the combination that might lead you to the wrong paths in life. That is exactly what happened.

Remember,  if you ever have transit Neptune on Ascendant or Mercury, ask yourself this question: "Is this what I think or feel real or just my wrong concept of reality?" Transits of Neptune are often simply just too negative or too sad. Neptune is the symbol of romance and in those romantic days of the 19th century, Neptune could kill you softly by making a drama of things and drown in tears. *) Whatever you may think of Neptune over Mercury/AC, no astrologer will ever think of it as 'a bright and good idea'. Transits of Neptune are confusing. When your concept of your situation are wrong, you might make wrong plans, too.

Transit Saturn and Sun/Moon midpoint

Recently I wrote a lot about the Sun/Moon midpoint (see the label Sun/Moon). 

Transit Saturn has been square my Sun/Moon between November 2010 and July 18, 2011. My experience is, that this transit is reflecting worries and concerns. I am happy to see Saturn move on to other degrees than the 12th of capital signs!

With Sun/Moon in aspect with Saturn you are generally motivated to control, be serious, manage and restrict out of concern, fear or because you feel responsible. More often this combination shows concern about others than yourself: family members, parents, your children. 

A natal Sun/Moon in hard aspect with Saturn is reflecting the need to be in charge (in order to be able to keep control). You are in charge when you are a parent, a manager or working in the administration. You are in charge when you limit yourself (with a diet, for example). And you are in charge when you are hard to yourself. Sometimes, with this combination, you are limiting and restricting yourself. It might be a life long process (natal Sun/Moon - Saturn) and it can happen for a period of time (transit or progression). 

The cause to worry can be outside yourself (concern about others), but it is important not to get depressed by other persons' criticism or corrections, bad situation or ill health. Maybe that is why, when time goes on, this Saturn tends to step back and keep a certain distance. But, perhaps, when you look at it in an objective way and compare yourself to others, it is not as bad as it may seem to be...When you start thinking like that, Saturn is on his way to move on and so are you.

However, Sun/Moon/Saturn combination really seem to be a ‘memento mori’, articulating mistakes, losts and failures, even in the lives of those who achieved something important in life. On the whole with Sun/Moon and Saturn you are motivated to be in charge or to be alone, to manage or to construct… or to seek for something solid and certain like a job in the administration. And you won’t be the kind of person to celebrate life. The approval (or punishment and criticism) of others could be a heavy load to carry sometimes.

That is what occurs with transit Saturn on Sun/Moon: it feels like a nasty, dull or depressing time and sometimes it is, actually. When Saturn moves on, the atmosphere of Sun/Moon still may feel like winter time. Things like your age, your limitations, faults, mistakes and duties have been highlighted and perhaps you even look older than before. Of course, it depends on the other transits and progressions, the natal chart and the real situation on earth in what way this transit will be manifested. Nevertheless, it is one of those transits that don't make life easier. 

PS The chart of the declaration of independence of Norway (source is Astrology Weekly: June 7 , 1905 11 LMT Oslo) has the Sun /Moon midpoint in Cancer, in 11d02m. Saturn is now - July 2011 - square this midpoint.

I found the picture of a Sun/Moon with beard. Saturn (ruler of Capricorn, the goat) and beards go together...Fortunately, this doesn't mean that you grow one with transit Saturn on Sun/Moon. Saturn, for males, is the symbol of the grown-up, the adult, and grown-ups grow beards.

Venus, Mars and Uranus in midpoint and aspect combinations

When Venus and Mars meet, there is passion. When Venus is with Uranus, there is a sudden 'hyper' love. When Mars is with Uranus there is a sudden drive and action on impulse. So: Venus, Mars and Uranus together are the symbol of sudden passions and adventures or acting on impulse when attracted to someone. Maybe this doesn't always have to show up like it does in the chart of Anthony Weiner (tight combination of Venus conjunct Mars, both semi square Uranus) or that of Ryan Giggs (tight combination of Mars opposition Uranus and square Venus. But it often does. Nevertheless there are other ways to mirror Venus-Mars-Uranus than 'strongly passionate excitability: beauty surgery or giving birth - maybe with the help of certain techniques (but than you have another gender, of course). 


The tension of Venus-Mars-Uranus is in the sexual interaction. Mars-Uranus makes it difficult for men to stay with one woman. Venus-Uranus is one of the risky aspects in the charts of women when it comes to marriage. 


Let us find some female examples of charts with Venus, Mars, Uranus combinations:

• Anne Sinclair (the wife of Dominique Strauss-Kahn) has Venus  conjunct Uranus and both are square Mars. There is indeed sensation about sex in her life.
• Mariah Shriver (Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife) has Venus trine Uranus and semi square Mars (with Mars quintile Uranus). She recently discovered that her husband has a son with her housekeeper. Moon/Venus midpoint and aspect combinations

This blog is about Moon/Venus midpoint and aspect combinations, with a number of example charts of people in the news of today and yesterday. If you don’t know what a midpoint is, read this first…It takes a time of birth to know the position of the Moon (and the midpoints with Moon).

BTW This post also describes possible interpretations for aspect combinations. For example: Moon trine Venus and square Neptune is a Moon/Venus/Neptune combination. The best results, however, are with tight aspects repeated by similar midpoint combinations. For example: when Moon/Venus is square Neptune and Moon is conjunct Venus, both square Neptune. 

Here are suggested interpretations for the combinations of Moon, Venus and Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Node, Ascendant and Midheaven and some more about Moon-Venus:

Moon/Venus is the midpoint of feeling good, nice habits and modern style. Any aspect with Moon and Venus or the midpoint Moon/Venus tells us something more about that. The Moon/Venus midpoint might be hit when you fall in love or give birth or sense the good sides of family life. Moon/Venus is also part of the pattern of artistic talents. Having sense of esthetics and style surely will help you to create a product that people will like to buy or see. However, afflictions between Moon and Venus may cause problems for women when it comes to play the female role in life's theatre. Marilyn Monroe had Moon semi sesquisquare (67.5d) Venus, afflicted by Saturn and Neptune. The combinations Moon/Venus/Saturn and Moon/Venus/Neptune happen to be the less pleasant combinations with Moon/Venus.

It is the combination for the art of living and living with the arts, depending on other influences. Love and style will be in the spotlights.

Moon/Venus with Mercury enabled Ronald Reagan to pleasantly communicate with women.

Moon/Venus with Mars creates a passionate trio. This trio urges you to hurry up when giving birth and in a natal chart this combination shows a need for passion. Perhaps this is the combination for puppy love and early experiences with the other gender. 

Moon/Venus with Jupiter might make you very popular. Women will support you and when you fall in love it will be with a great person. If you consider a lot of children as a demonstration of happy love life, you will have many children. But only if you want them!:) My examples are famous: 

a. Prince William with an almost exact Moon/Venus semi square Jupiter. He is very popular.

b. Pim Fortuyn, the murdered Dutch (homosexual) politician whose funeral was attended by hundreds of thousands of people along the road had Moon/Venus sesquisquare Jupiter. 

c. The combination might point at successes in art, for artists like Peter Paul Rubens (who also shaped his women the Jupiter-way).

This midpoint combination might also point at the reason for the popularity: being very well mannered, polite and always in style.

Venus Frigida by Rubens

Moon/Venus with Saturn does the opposite of what Mars does. Saturn slows you down. Saturn creates limitations and restrictions. Venus Frigida, that is Moon/Venus/Saturn...With this combination you might have a habit of breaking hearts, just because of cold feet. With this combination you have to learn to limit your desires, like the (very bad) example: Paul Bernardo, whose Saturn is semi square Moon/Venus. Of course, Paul Bernardo is not a normal person. 

The combination is also mirroring unhappy (or should I say: unlucky) women. 

Recent example 1: Anne Sinclair (wife of Dominique Strauss-Kahn) has a Scorpio Moon square Saturn and inconjunct Venus. The bad experiences in love happened in the past few weeks. Her Moon/Venus is semi square Sun. Strauss-Kahn is her second husband (she has Venus conjunct Uranus in Gemini -double bodied sign- in the seventh house). Here is the chart with the (still) dificult transits for June 1: T Neptune square Ascendant, T Node inconjunct Sun, T Jupiter inconjunct Mars and T Saturn conjunct Neptune. 

It must be hard to be involved with a man who is taken into custody after being accused of violating a woman, even if you believe in him.

The second recent example is Maria Shriver, who discovered that her husband had a child with the housekeeper. Her Moon/Venus midpoint is semi square Saturn and transit Saturn is now in hard aspect with her Ascendant.

Moon/Venus with Uranus accelerates feelings of sympathy and love. This combination might lead to juvenile pregnancy or giving birth too soon or surgery when giving birth. The other side is a great sense of style and rhythm. Beauty surgery, too. Kim Novak has Uranus square Moon/Venus in her birth chart.

Moon/Venus with Neptune: the women adore you and you are likely to disappoint some of them. You could be an artist. See Art&Astrology for dozens of examples. Here are a few more:

2. John F. Kennedy had Moon exactly square Venus and semi square Neptune. The midpoint Moon/Venus was conjunct Neptune. 

Moon/Venus with Pluto: intense and sometimes painful experiences in love and/or a habit of earning money. Francisco Goya had Pluto opposition Moon/Venus. Ronald Reagan had Venus square Moon/Pluto.

Moon/Venus with Node loves family meetings and nice (female) company. 

Moon/Venus with Ascendant is the key to being 'beloved' or lovable and to presenting yourself as a nice person. Men with this combination have a lot of women around (like Hugh Hefner with Moon square Venus/Ascendant). 

Dutch (Argentina born) Princess Maxima has this combination 3 times! That is a result of the small trine between Moon, Venus and Ascendant (Moon sextile Venus, Venus trine Ascendant, Moon sextile Ascendant, Moon/AC square Venus, Moon/Venus square AC, Venus/AC square Moon). Maxima is now the most popular member of the royal family and the very good looking mother of 3 daughters. 

 (She also has a Moon square Saturn and inconjunct Pluto and that reminds me of the post about beautiful women and Venus-Saturn-Pluto (for what it takes to remain in shape:). 

Moon/Venus with MC (Midheaven) is constructing a career related to art or women, like Ronald Reagan and Hugh Hefner. Women with this combination could be dedicated to being a nice mother and wife. I haven’t seen famous examples of women, yet. But have I seen them all?:)

Moon/Mercury midpoint combinations and perception

Moon is the symbol of what you experienced, need and sense. Mercury is the symbol of logic thinking and messages. The mix of Moon and Mercury is the mix of emotions and communications: perception (not objective observation, but using all senses). When a third party joins these two symbols, what kind of a perception do we get?

Venus adds sweetness, taste and sympathy. So what do you need when your Moon is part of a combination with Mercury and Venus (by aspect or midpoint)? I think that you need to have nice and elegant conversations, or flirtations, but anyway: you just need to talk to the ladies and you see kind persons around you. Ronald Reagan had this combination. 

Moon, Mercury and Mars: that is a more competitive perception. When you have Moon with Mercury and Mars, would you need to talk about sport, action, men? Or do you have a habit of working and talking at the same time? I guess so. 

I also suppose that with Moon, Mercury and Jupiter you need to talk a lot and have a big mouth sometimes. Or you are bluffing a bit. You see things greater than they are, perhaps? And you have a habit of telling the world what you think, like Hugo Chavez. This combination also gives a larger perspective. 

A Moon with Mercury and Saturn is much more difficult to explain. It depends very much on the person's mental condition and mentality if this Moon has a habit of lying or is just being cautious in communications and with relations. 

The Moon with Mercury and Uranus should hold the risk of construction failure but Steven Hawking has it (only if the time of birth is correct and there are doubts...), too and that is not the only reason why I think that it means a specific or special conception and the need to change ideas.

Moon with Mercury and Neptune has a colored conception and tend to 'color' events and memories. Fantasy moves in when Neptune is around. Poets might use the ability to see what is not visible for all, for art!:) 

Moon with Mercury and Pluto tends to mention things in a way that others feel intimidated a bit or he/she has a habit of getting in trouble with what he/she says, especially when emotions get in the way.

Moon with Mercury and Ascendant is of course always talking and with Moon. This person is perceiving it all. 

Moon, Mercury and Midheaven combinations: you long for (keeping) contact with the public or the clients. 

I have mentioned Sun/Moon/Mercury combinations before, see this link. With Sun/Moon-Mercury a person is being motivated by communications (writing, talking, singing, being the messenger) and the perception (emotions+brains) will be highlighted and will draw attention. The example charts that I mentioned were those of authors like Agatha Christie and J.K. Rowling.

Jupiter/Pluto midpoint and aspect combinations

Jupiter/Pluto means 'a whole lot of' ' a treasure' 'intense potential for growth' and much more that creates greatness. Midpoint and aspect combinations with Jupiter/Pluto offer an opportunity to rise above the situation at birth. For example:

Sun/Jupiter/Pluto combinations enlarge the ego and challenges you to grow, have success, be ' great' and go for it. You want to be impressive and you will be! With this combination you have an intense self confidence and more self esteem (or influence and power) than others do.

Cardinal Richelieu, Hugo Chavez, Al Zarqawi and football players Wesley Sneyder and Zinedine Zidane have this combination.

Moon/Jupiter/Pluto combinations enlarge the soul and challenges you to become popular, successfully dominating the family. You want to be a great family member and you will be (of course you will!). Perhaps the other side of Moon/Jupiter/Pluto combinations is a dominating personality. You are attractive and you know what people want right now. That is a great concept for selling and launching new products. I have two examples: Oprah Winfrey and Eros Ramazotti.

1.Oprah Winfrey's Jupiter/Pluto midpoint is in hard aspect with the Moon and with Uranus. She is very very popular. 

2. Eros Ramazzotti has a lot of such combinations. I quote:

 He had a break through in 1084 with transit Pluto conjunct Sun and progressed Sun sesquisquare progressed Jupiter. Pluto and Jupiter joined forces for success. The 3rd indication for this break through is the aspect of the progressed Moon trine progressed Jupiter. There is no better aspect, believe me!

Of course it takes a willing birth chart to break through. Ascendant, MC and Moon are connected with Jupiter/Pluto. That is again 3 times success.

Mercury/Jupiter/Pluto enlarges the vocabulary and challenges you to be a great communicator (somehow).

The Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Pluto combination in the chart of J.K.Rowling shows part of what brought her success: the great ideas and the ability to find words for them.

Venus/Jupiter/Pluto means (earning) a whole lot of love or of money and sometimes both. It is the key to a (social) successful marriage.

4. J.K. Rowling (Pluto semi square Venus/Jupiter) also have a Venus/Jupiter/Pluto midpoint combination

5. Politician Ruud Lubbers has Jupiter/Pluto semi square Venus (he is also a business man). 

6. Sarah Palin has Venus exactly on Jupiter/Pluto midpoint.

Mars/Jupiter/Pluto increases energy and drive. That will help you to win whatever competition.

Mitch Daniels has Mars/Pluto sesquisquare Jupiter. Recently his wife and daughters helped him to decide not to try to be the Republican candidate.

The Ascendant with Jupiter/Pluto makes you look great and that will help you to impress the persons that you meet. Barack Obama has this. It is also in the chart of Abbe Pierre. 

MC with Jupiter/Pluto challenges you to improve your condition and status. It is the recipe for a successful position in society (but it doesn't say at what level, how or why).

Examples: Ted Bundy (Jupiter sesquisquare Pluto/MC; Sarkozy has MC semi square Jupiter/Pluto, Galilei Pluto conjunct Jupiter/MC and Brad Pitt has MC square Jupiter/Pluto

The chart examples above have more indications for success than the mentioned combination.  You may understand that a number of these combinations with Jupiter/Pluto, Sun/Jupiter, Moon/Jupiter, Mercury/Jupiter, Venus/Jupiter, Mars/Jupiter, Jupiter/MC or Jupiter/Ascendant will be found in the charts of those 'who made it'. Charts should also be seen in the light of the gender, genes, circumstances and situations. Together with the character and talents these are the ingredients of the 'cake', the complete picture.

Midpoint combinations with Jupiter/Neptune

On Astromarkt (http://www.astromarkt.net/index.php?id=120) I name the aspect between Jupiter and Neptune the combination of the devoted audience and the remedy. About combinations of Sun, Jupiter and Neptune (quoting):

In various posts on this blog I have given examples of how Sun andNeptune combinations go together with the love for animals. Add a bit of Jupiter and you get the protection (Jupiter) of animal (Neptune) life (Sun). That is not because Neptune means 'animal'. Neptune cares for the weak ones because Neptune is a softie.

With the Sun idealism is highlighted, like in the chart of Mother Theresa. With Jupiter/Neptune in aspect with the Sun you live by your ideals (and sometimes that is because of a negative attitude towards success).

The Dalai Lama (born July 6, 1935) has the Sun tightly trine Jupiter and sextile Neptune, square Jupiter/Neptune. Jupiter is square Sun/Neptune. Neptune is conjunct Sun/Jupiter. His chart mirrors devotion, spirituality and idealism and is a great example of the effect of Sun-Jupiter-Neptune combinations.

The link with religion is unmistakable. But why the remedy?

REMEDY

In January of 2006, with Jupiter exactly square Neptune it was announced that tests had proven that a vaccination against avian flu would be successful. They found a remedy. In 2009 Jupiter has been conjunct Neptune end of May. In June 2009 a Swiss producer announced that the vaccin against Mexican Flu was ready for production. That was with Jupiter conjunct Neptune, too. In December there will be another conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune. That is what I mentioned when I first published this. It seems that Jupiter-Neptune has indeed reflected the remedy.

IDEAS FOR INTERPRETING COMBINATIONS OF 3 WITH JUPITER-NEPTUNE

Moon with Jupiter/Neptune is a great help for believers and could give success in such a career. But Ted Bundy also had this midpoint combination and he could easily mislead women. 

Mercury with Jupiter/Neptune you have a chance to be a great story teller (to communicate with the help of a lot of fantasy). 

Venus and Jupiter/Neptune is for the fairy tale marriage (in the eyes of others:)

Mars with Jupiter/Neptune doesn't only help in working with religion or the world of the movies. Chemical plants are also offering prospects. 

Jupiter/Neptune with Saturn is more of a generational influence. Only with more of such indications there is a warning to watch your weight (and weight changes).

Jupiter/Uranus/Neptune combinations is for the benefit of social laws or institutions, by groups. 

Ronald Reagan had Neptune semi square Jupiter/Pluto. This might suggest that he was following a certain ideology or guru or that many of his generation did. 

Jupiter/Neptune with Node is more personal and means that you are having contacts with believers, cheaters and groups of people who speculate.

Jupiter/Neptune with Ascendant is in the chart of a man like Billy Graham.

Jupiter/Neptune with MC: a career linked to devotion, like Mother Theresa.

Reinhold Ebertin's book Combination of Stellar Influences remains the basic work about midpoints and midpoint combinations. He named the Jupiter/Neptune midpoint the midpoint of apparent happiness and speculation and saw sociological correspondence in visionaries, dreamers, mystics, hypocrites and speculators and interpreted Sun with Jupiter/Neptune as: ' Lack of self-control, irresponsibility, speculation, squandering of physical strength. The act of deceiving or the misfortune of being deceived.' 

Midpoint combinations with Jupiter/Uranus

Yesterday’s post was about the positive change in the life of a man and the reflection of it: Jupiter-Pholus and Jupiter-Uranus. This post is about the midpoint Jupiter-Uranus and the combinations with Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Pluto, Node, Ascendant and Midheaven.

Jupiter-Uranus is the combination of the helicopter view. That is why this combination is found in the charts of astrologers (who have a sort of an overview over a chart and see the nativity as from ‘above’), of astronauts (clear…) and of modern popes (who also have a different perspective, don’t they?). With transits and/or progressions combinations with Jupiter/Uranus or Jupiter + Uranus bring relief. Sun with Jupiter/Uranus is for those who look ahead, are inventive and (because of that) may experience unexpected happiness or relief.

Inventive lifestyle.

Moon with Jupiter/Uranus is a good combination for intuition and being able to tune in to what is needed. Inventive addaption.

Mercury with Jupiter/Uranus is successfully communicating an independent (new) opinion or idea. Inventive communications.

Venus with Jupiter/Uranus can suddenly be ‘discovered’ as an artist or falls in love with Mr. or Mrs. Right, suddenly. Inventive love.

Mars with Jupiter/Uranus is for inventive techniques, successful surgery and winning competitions.

It seems that Jupiter/Saturn/Uranus is a combination for construction damage. Maybe it is also for sudden moves (because of the damage) or (the most positive interpretation) for a relief related to a mortgage, insurance etc.

Jupiter/Uranus with Neptune is the combination of the generation that benefits from a changing rule or law. It is the hallelujah-feeling of profit without having to work for it.

Jupiter/Uranus with Pluto is the combination of a successful revolution and the benefits of total change.

Jupiter/Uranus with Node makes you part of a community with ideas of hope and change.

Jupiter/Uranus with Ascendant improves your situation, is stimulating others. Those people really make others happy.

Jupiter/Uranus with MC (Midheaven) is in the charts of professional astrologers like Jean Baptiste Morin (MC semi square Jupiter/Uranus) or Dane Rudhyar (Uranus square Jupiter/MC or Noel Tyl (MC conjunct Jupiter/Uranus). They share a profession related to the expression of certain convictions and a helicopter view.

Jupiter/Uranus with Pholus must be a very fortunate turning point. Transit Pholus will be semi square my Jupiter/Uranus and conjunct my Sun/MC end of December of 2012. That is when I plan to quit my job and dedicate myself to what I like most. Guess what…J

When Jupiter is in hard aspect with Sun/Mars you are likely having success thanks to a lot of energy and drive. Dutch conqueror Piet Hein had Sun semi square Mars/Jupiter. Nelson Mandela has Mars square Sun/Jupiter. 

Sun/Mars/Saturn

Sun/Mars with Saturn finds fewer joy in working and being a man with responsibilities, unless the person involved sees his duties as only natural. Mars-Saturn is the aspect combination of discipline and being disciplined. The military is one of the territories of Mars-Saturn. This combination might also reflect mourning. Prince William has Sun/Saturn conjunct Mars. Prince Charles has Sun/Mars square Saturn. 

 Women might live with a man who is not always there for them or life with (or without) a man can be hard. Michele Martin, the wife of serial killer Marc Dutroux, responsible for the death of two 8 year old girls, has Sun/Mars conjunct Saturn (Sun in 24 Capricorn, Mars 0 Capricorn and Saturn 12 Capricorn). 

Sun/Mars/Uranus

The explosive nature of Mars and Uranus is being highlighted by the Sun when there is a midpoint combination of Sun, Mars and Uranus. Sometimes this combination refers to ‘an accident’ (getting pregnant, too) and arrests. The ability of acceleration is the other side of this combination.

Zinedine Zidane has Uranus square Sun/Mars. Osama bin Laden had Sun/Uranus conjunct Mars. 

Sun/Mars/Neptune

Sun/Mars and Neptune is more obscure. Someone with this midpoint combination might work in secret business or be involved in ‘an affair’. Another resonation is lost of energy due to poison or drugs or being the victim of aggression…it can’t be all that bad. Rudi Guiliani has Mars conjunct Sun/Neptune, for example.

Sun/Mars/Pluto

Sun/Mars and Pluto intensifies vital male energies. Mars with Pluto is the combination of the drive to win. The sun is highlighting this drive. The ‘strong man’ (in force or in politics) has such a midpoint combination. For example: Lula da Silva (Sun square Mars/Pluto) and Pope Benedict XVI: Sun/Mars semi square Pluto. 

Sun/Mars/Node

Sun/Mars and Nodes is the combination of the working community of men, a team of workers and of producing together.

Sun/Mars/Ascendant

Sun/Mars and Ascendant offers opportunities to be active, assertive and/or aggressive. Bruce Willis has Mars semi square Sun/Ascendant.

Sun/Mars/MC

The team leader (the coordinating worker) has Sun/Mars in hard aspect with Midheaven but this combination pops up in the charts of famous women, too. Jane Fonda, Barbra Streisand and Stephanie Grimaldi have Sun/Mars/MC. They are active and energetic. Dutch king-to-be Prince William Alexander also has this midpoint combination.

Sun/Venus midpoint combinations

Venus is the symbol of beauty and art. What we see above is not what we consider a beautiful woman, today. It all depends on culture and time (and gender), just like everything that we see in a chart. The Sun/Venus midpoint reveals more about love life and the way that you deal with the sweeter and softer sides of life.

When there is a hard aspect (45, 90, 135 or 180d) with the point between  Sun and Venus, there is a midpoint combination of Sun/Venus with the planet or position in aspect. The midpoint combinations of Sun/Moon/Venus and Sun/Mercury/Venus have been published before. Sun/Venus in hard aspect with Jupiter is the privilige of the lucky guy or girl: either in love or in art. Examples: Peter Paul Rubens (Venus conjunct Sun/Jupiter) and Brad Pitt (Jupiter square Sun/Venus) or Dutch Queen Beatrix who is a privileged person and a sculptor and has Sun/Venus/Jupiter combinations 3 times together with a conjunction of Sun, Venus and Jupiter. Sun/Venus/Jupiter makes you see the benefits of style and life is a celebration.

Sun/Venus/Saturn

There must be ‘another side of the coin’ for Brad Pitt, because he doesn’t only have a Sun/Venus/Jupiter-combination. He also has a Sun/Venus/Saturn combination! His Venus is conjunct Sun/Saturn. Linda Lovelace’s chart has Venus semi square Sun/Saturn.

This is the combination that shows you the limitations of love life and style and makes cautious in love (and art) because of earlier separations. With Sun-Venus-Saturn 'keeping up appearances in love life' might be one of the possible ways to read this midpoint combination.

Sun/Venus/Uranus

Sun/Venus with Uranus is very stimulating for an artist and produces a hectic love life. Tension goes together with the latest styles. Victoria Beckham has Venus sesquisquare Sun/Uranus. She is in the news often because of her husband’s supposed to be love adventures. Sun/Venus with Neptune is for the romantic person or talented artist. This combination adds fantasy and dreams to the love life and life style. Sun/Venus/Pluto

Sun/Venus with Pluto is an intense combination for love: it is all or nothing and there also may be money issues. With this combination your qualities to earn money might be highlighted, too. Sometimes Sun/Venus/Pluto mirrors a dramatic love life. Paul McCartney has Sun conjunct Venus/Pluto.

Sun/Venus/Node 

Sun/Venus with Node is reflecting the shared joy of life, the diplomat and the beloved family or company of nice and talented people. It is likely that someone with this combination will do anything to improve the atmosphere. Prince Charles has Northern Node opposition Sun/Venus.

Sun/Venus with Ascendant wants to make the world look better. Francisco Goya used art to do so. He had Ascendant square Sun/Venus.

Sun/Venus/MC

Sun/Venus with Midheaven might have a professional career in art, as an artist, or related to love and beauty, just like movie star Monique van de Ven with Sun semi square Venus/Midheaven.

Sun/Mercury midpoint combinations

In the post named 'Sun/Moon/Mercury midpoint combinations' I referred to being motivated by communications (writing, speaking, or being a messenger by transporting the message). There is another way to look at a Sun/Moon/Mercury combination and that is when you see it as Sun/Mercury with Moon. Sun/Mercury is the midpoint of your mental health and personal ideas. When the Moon mixes with this midpoint, your opinion is influenced by your feelings and what you say is coloured by bias. So in a way, anyone with a Sun/Moon/Mercury combination writes what he feels and is a potential liar, because he colors the facts. Perhaps that is why writers of fiction often have this midpoint combination. However, there is also a strong drive to mention facts and to discuss them. That makes it easier to learn the truth. Sun/Moon/Mercury combinations describe feelings and memories or talk about what motivates them. People with this combination write and speak with heart and soul. But they are not objective, they have feelings for the things that they talk about.

When Sun/Mercury is mixed with Venus grace, style and beauty are added to expressing the opinion or view. You easily get contact with others and this might lead to marrying young. This combination of Sun/Mercury/Venus is very frequent and not all of the persons with this combination in the natal chart will become a writer. But they all communicate in a nice manner.

Michelangelo is supposed to have had Mercury conjunct Sun/Jupiter. Can you imagine how prosperous the life of this person as a student might have been?

Sun/Mercury/Saturn-combinations point at the hard sides of student life. Aletta Jacobs was the first Dutch woman allowed to study medicines and she had Sun conjunct Mercury, both square Saturn. It took her a lot of time to get permission and her time as a student was of course not very pleasant.

Galilei had Sun conjunct Mercury/Uranus and you know what he did: he said something very controversial about earth turning around the sun. Sacha Cohen has Sun conjunct Mercury/Uranus, too and what he says raises many eyebrows, too.

Sun/Mercury/Neptune is good for a man like William Shakespeare, because this midpoint combination ads fantasy to words. But in all other cases misinterpretations and misunderstandings (maybe even having the wrong opinion) could confuse communications.

Sun/Mercury/Pluto is the combination of the power and influence of the mind and of the word. Nelson Mandela has Sun conjunct Mercury/Pluto and politician Luia da Silva has Pluto square Sun/Mercury. This combination might also lead to mental stress.

Sun/Mercury/Node shows the opinions of a community or group and people with this combination in their chart might exchange ideas or instruct a group of listeners.

Sun/Mercury/Ascendant is the representation of lively communications,somehow. For example as a teacher.

Sun/Mercury/Midheaven is for the professional writer. J.K. Rowling has Midheaven conjunct Sun/Mercury and she wrote the Harry Potter books.

Sun/Moon midpoint combinations with asteroids and dwarf planets

When I found out that I have Sun/Moon conjunct Ceres I got even more interested in the meaning of Sun/Moon midpoint combinations with dwarf planets and asteroids. Ceres is the symbol of nutrition and motherhood (and of the dynasty). That is why Ceres is important in the charts of women who deliver the next king. Cooks also have important Ceres' (see http://astropost.blogspot.com/2009/03/astrological-recipe-for-famous-chef.html ), but I am not a cook and I am not a member of a 'dynasty'. I am not on a diet, either...So I still am working on the meaning of Sun/Moon/Ceres for myself. Maybe I will end my life breeding dogs, who knows:) Anyway, I should be motivated by Ceres and the need to nurture, but I am afraid that the picture of Big Mama doesn't suit me much. In my opinion the Sun/Moon combinations with Ceres, Pallas, Pholus and Quaoar could sound like this:

• Sun/Moon with Ceres

Motivated by results (the harvest), roots, genes, motherhood or nutrition. The need to be nurtured or to feed others (with food, ideas or dreams….etc.)

• Sun/Moon with Eris

Motivated by discord or anger. The need not to be underestimated or forgotten? (Don’t you forget about Eris!

• Sun/Moon with Pallas

Motivated by seeing patterns and displaying them. The need to arrange things.

• Sun/Moon with Quaoar

Motivated to create new perspectives. The need to create a new way of living for themselves or for the world

• Sun/Moon with Pholus

Motivated to cause a turning point (a goal in football, for example). Need to make (immediate) changes

Sun/Moon midpoint combinations with Node, Ascendant and Midheaven

In the last couple of days I have written a lot about midpoint combinations of Sun/Moon. I haven't mentioned the midpoint combinations with Northern Node, Ascendant and Midheaven, yet. They are illustrating that someone is being motivated by others (Node: family, community) or the situation and environment (Ascendant) or by the condition/status (MC).

When you have a combination of Sun/Moon/Node in your chart your are connected to others with heart and soul and much of what you want to do in life is related to your family, party, community or country. For example, the Spanish King Juan Carlos has Sun conjunct Moon/Node. With Sun/Moon/Ascendant you tend  to come out and show the modus vivendi of your group and the others motivate you to present yourself as one of them.
With Sun/Moon/Midheaven you are a public figure, a person who displays a certain way of living to the public, like Stephanie Grimaldi of Monaco, for example.

Those combinations of Sun/Moon with Ascendant and Midheaven are the most personal combinations. When you have Sun/Moon in hard aspect with AC/MC the importance of your situation and condition is highlighted. It takes a correct time of birth for the AC/MC and Sun/Moon combinations.

Sun/Moon/Pluto midpoint combinations

Sun/Moon is the midpoint of motivations. With Pluto you are motivated by money, power, influence and the more challenging things in life (danger, life and death)...You need or live in a world of challenge and stress. Perhaps the person with Sun/Moon/Pluto combinations in the chart suffered from a traumatic event. That might cause a state of constant alert. Here are some examples:

• Anne Frank with Sun semi square Moon/Pluto will be remembered because of the fact that she died too young in Nazi time.
• Jacqueline Kennedy with Moon square Sun/Pluto will be remembered because of the death of her young husband.
• Grace Kelly (Princess Gracia) had Sun opposition Moon/Pluto (a midpoint yod with the Sun as the apex). Her death shocked the world.
• David Koresh had Sun square Moon/Pluto. 
• If the chart of Hugo Chavez is the correct chart, he has Sun/Moon with Uranus and Sun with Moon/Pluto. The Sun/Moon combination with Uranus and Pluto easily leads to radicalism. There would be a situation of stress and nervous problems, too.
• Tony Blair and Prince Andrew have Sun in hard aspect with Moon/i
• Terry Schiavo's husband has Sun sesquisquare Moon/Pluto and dealt with the tragedy of his wife's situation (in non-reversal coma and not allowed to die).

Sun/Moon and Pluto motivates by means of values, policy's or strategy, sometimes by force. The need to be strong, powerful or rich is apparent and that is because money or force could bring in vital changes. In a less extreme situation Sun/Moon/Pluto midpoint combinations are challenging for family life and marriage. Problems between man and woman could be inherent to this combination and require (at least) therapy. When Venus is part of the combination, those problems could be money problems.

I don't have a famous example of Sun/Moon with Pluto, but on Astromarkt (article about Sun/Moon, progressions and transits) you find this:

Michael Douglas has transit Pluto semi square Sun/Moon, following the transit of Saturn over Sun and Moon and midpoint Sun/Moon. We all know about his challenging period right now (trying to conquer cancer).

Pluto on Sun/Moon shows that you need strength and courage.

Michael Douglas' son is in jail and his wife had therapy while he had treatment for cancer. This was indeed an intense and difficult time for him. When you were born with Sun/Moon/Pluto you might have experienced a problem at the beginning of life. The fact that you survived made you more vulnerable and yet stronger, because you value life more than others do. That is the impact of a dwarf planet, Pluto.
