Prince Charles yesterday

First there were the polls (about the people wanting William instead of him to be the next King) and yesterday the car of Prince Charles and Princess Camilla got stuck in the middle of student riots (see the Huffington Post). You'd expect something (but not too much) in the chart. Nothing really changed, nobody got hurt. That is perhaps the reason why there is only one transit: transit Pholus is on the progressed IC (opposition Midheaven). Pholus-MC is the symbol of the turning point in a status or position, but often in retroperspective. In the progressed chart of Prince Charles the Sun is almost conjunct Pholus. (Transit Pholus is almost opposition the progressed Midheaven of the B-rated chart of Camilla, too.)
Here you see the chart and the global reading of the chart of Prince Charles. Continue for more…

Prince Charles birthday

Prince Charles will be 61 on the 14th of November. Now that I write this it is already November 14 in London, so: happy birthday to him!

I have written about Prince Charles before. Click here to see posts about him, his chart, relations and more...And if you are interested in his artistic talents, see the post on my site Art&Astrology. And there is a post about Prince Charles and Camilla on Astrology-love-romance.blogspot.com.

Because of his birthday I take a brief look at his solar return chart. The solar return chart is the chart for the actual moment that the Sun is in the same degree, minute and second as on the day that a person was born. Every year on or around the birthday, the Sun returns to that place. The chart erected for that moment is a solar return chart. This chart shows the transits with the natal Sun on an annual birthday and the positions in the chart of the actual moment of the solar return. My experience is that if the Moon is in aspect with the Midheaven of the solar return chart, there might be an important change coming up...

Below you see Charles' solar return chart (his birthday chart). It is a rather fortunate solar return chart at first sight, with the Sun on the horizon and Jupiter on top. Jupiter rules the 8th house of life and death, however.
The Northern Node on Midheaven might mean that family matters more than ever...There is also a conjunction of the progressed Sun and transitting Node on his birthday, highlighting the group , company, family and nation.
Next year we will know what was the meaning of this solar return, but we might do some guessing. There is an aspect between Moon and Midheaven, so it is a year of changes.

It's that we know that his mother will not step back in favour of her son, but it looks like the solar return chart for a king to be*). It is the same combination as in the natal chart of his eldest son William, who has Sun conjunct Descendant and Jupiter conjunct Midheaven. In 2010 Prince William's progressed Midheaven (progression .98 degree/year) is changing sign and the first aspect will be an inconjunction with the ruler of the 8th house, the Sun. It might mean that he will be taken aback by a change in status. I doubt that he will become a father, so it might be another kind of family matter (houses 4/10 and 8).

It might be an important year coming for Charles, anyway, with opportunities to grow, travel and convince the public. I'll be back next year (I hope) to see how the events matched the solar return ....or not. Scorpio Charles will move on in 2010, somehow.

-----
*) The progressed chart of his mother Queen Elisabeth has a Yod of the Ascendant inconjunct Saturn ruler 8 and Mars inconjunct Saturn, with Mars sextile Ascendant. The Yod is pointing at Saturn, and Saturn is conjunct Midheaven in her natal chart.
The combination of AC/Mars/Saturn often is reflecting a situation of restricted energy or a blockade (the end of energy, work, mourning, death etc.).She might be less energetic in 2010 than she usually is and will have to take good care of herself and her husband with whom she celebrated a 60 years marriage in 2007. See the post of that day... Maybe that is why Charles will get more chances to show up in official occasions in 2010.

Famous couple: Charles and Camilla

Today Prince Charles met the Pope with transit Jupiter square his Sun. That is a good sign for a trip abroad. And now that I mention him, let us see how he matches with Camilla.

CHARLES
Charles married Diana first. In his chart Venus conjunct Neptune shows the possible divorce. He has Sun/Moon in aspect with Saturn and that is a reflection of breaking up a family in our days (it means: a distant family life).

CAMILLA
Camilla married Mr. Parker first. In her chart Sun is semi sextile Uranus, a weak sign for a divorce. But Sun/Moon is 22.5 degrees from Saturn and from Uranus. Restricted and stirred up family life...

MATCH
I like the way that their charts match.
His Sun is trine hers (within 1.5 degrees)
Their Ascendants are close together, just like their MC's

They can easily join lifes, they share the same kind of approach and goals and as the Moons are in agreeable signs, they are able to live together. There are no conflicts, although the signs of Venus and Mars don't match. There is compensation for that: her Sun/Moon is square his prominent Venus. His love and sympathy have an effect on her family life and is what she wants most of all. How romantic.

Her Descendant is inconjunct his Saturn and that reveals some of the problems. Is "a disproportionate (inconjunct) delay (Saturn) of marriage (Descendant)" a good translation of the astrological message, perhaps?

The couple is also mentioned in the article about the moment of meeting the man or woman of your life...on Astromarkt.

I wrote in that article: "In June 1971, during a polo match, Camilla and Charles met for the first time. She had progressed Venus conjunct natal Saturn and semi square progressed Uranus. He had no special progressions at all. Her progressed ascendant is at the time exactly sesqui square his progressed Jupiter.

Sometimes people meet without starting a relationship, yet. A semi square with Venus describes a senseless love. Bernadette Brady refers to semi squares as a 'frustrating not'. Sesqui squares should bring advantages in a later stade! Apparently Charles and Camlla had to marry someone else, first. It is not only for the sort of aspectation that love was not answered at the time. Saturn and Uranus together refer to limitations of freedom and independency. Venus with Uranus often points at falling in love. Saturn is the planet of responsibilities, status and 'timing'. Shall we see this as 'untimely love'?"

Charles and Camilla both have Venus and Mars in aspect with each other and with Neptune and Pluto for mysterious or discrete passion. More about Charles and Camilla and Venus-Neptune, on this blog...

BIRTH CHART PRINCE CHARLES

On the 14th of November it is Prince Charles's birthday!

The Astro I.D. of Prince Charles is marked by the Moon on top and by Venus in a crucial spot on the IC. Moon is for mother, Venus for love. Notice Neptune prominent (oriental and conjunct IC) for the romantic idealist. Watch Uranus square Zero Aries. If you would not know this was the chart of the prince of England you would attribute an artist'soul to him, besides the exciting (Uranus) love affairs (Moon-Venus-Neptune).

Speculations on abdication Queen Elizabeth II

There is some speculation about the abdication of Queen Elizabeth II in 2014.

1. The idea is following the news about job sharing with her son (here: http://o.canada.com/news/world/queen-elizabeth-prince-charles-job-share-the-throne/ ) There is also a change in activities for Prince William and Prince Andrew.

2. Now a bookmaker suspends betting on the abdication of Queen Elizabeth II of England on Prince Charles 65th birthday: http://www.upi.com/Odd_News/2014/01/22/Bookmaker-suspends-betting-on-Queen-Elizabeths-abdication/UPI-44761390368334/

3. On my site Astromarkt.net I published the chart of Queen Elizabeth a few months ago.

I mentioned that Saturn (an important planet in her natal chart) indicated that all things Saturnal (duties, age, limitations) were getting harder in 2013 and that on November 11, 2014 (Charles' birthday)
a. Saturn would be conjunct her Midheaven,
b. Jupiter inconjunct the Ascendant with Pholus and
c. Jupiter trine (progressed) Mars.
Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands abdicated with Saturn and Pluto (see that story).

There has been some speculation before in 2011. I wrote about that, too, at the time (see: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/05/speculating-about-king-charles.html ) and then I also thought of 2014.

4. Here is the chart of the Prince of Wales with transits and progressions for his 65th birthday. Transit Uranus is on his Midheaven (tension, change), progressed Sun changing sign (changes life style), Progressed Sun square Jupiter (progress)….
Click for a larger picture

So, maybe it is in the air. We will see if it will land.
But if it isn't, what could those transits and progressions mean?

Speculating about King Charles

When will Prince Charles be King? Prince Charles is almost old enough to retire and he hasn't started yet. He is breaking the record of being 'king to be'. His chart is good enough for waiting in patience. I once read that the Moon in the 10th house might (mIght!) indicate a position in waiting (like in a shop, waiting for the clients). His Moon is also in Taurus and Taurus has patience. Taurus is a fixed sign. His mother Elizabeth has 50% of her placements in the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius: the sphynx - see the story about Mubarak). In search for the right moment I found November 14 2014, Charles' 66th birthday. On that day Saturn is exactly conjunct the Midheaven of Queen Elizabeth. And transit Uranus is exactly conjunct the Midheaven of Charles, with the progressed Sun changing sign within six month (for the changing life style). I hope Uranus means surprise and not 'shock' on that day. Here is the chart of Charles for 2014.

Speculations about abdication is like predicting the weather. Next weekend (so they tell me) there will yes and no be rain and that temperatures might be lower than or above 15 degrees. Anyway: it will be fresh enough for camping weather! Wish me strength!

PRINCE CHARLES AS A HOLOGRAM

Prince Charles will appear as an optical illusion (a hologram) on a conference about the environment and energy in Abu Dhabi (held between 21st and 23rd of January 2008). By doing so he will save the earth another amount of Co2 (he need not go by air plane).

This link will lead you to an explanation in the Daily Mail.

During the event transit Pluto will be conjunct the prince's Jupiter, so I guess the Star Trek-alike event will be a succes.

Prince William, charity and Venus-Neptune

Prince William has been a military man up to now and he wants to start a career in charity (like his father Charles) while waiting for the moment in the far future when he will be the King of England. It is not surprising, this wish. You see, Neptune is positioned on the Ascendant and that is an important position that I found in charts of sensitive and empathic persons who don't care too much about money and more about 'being good and doing well'. Neptune is a rather romantic idealistic symbol. In Prince William's chart Neptune is inconjunct Venus, the final dispositor of Midheaven. His father has Venus and Neptune opposition Midheaven. Charity might have something to do with Venus-Neptune. In the case of Prince Charles there is also artistic talent (see Art&Astrology) about Charles, the water colour artist. Perhaps William inherited some of that, too. No need to explain to astrologers why Venus-Neptune is a difficult combination for love in the charts of males...

Prince William will be a king one day, so will Willem (William) Alexander in the Netherlands. They both have the Sun on the Descendant, reflecting the leading role and they share their first name. Here are their charts next to each other. Jupiter on the Midheaven of William signifies being perspicacious.. according to Dear Brutus.

Love and Venus in the progressed chart

When love is in the air, love is in the sky above. This must be the conclusion when you see the examples of charts  in times of marriage or divorce. Venus is the symbol of love. And love has many faces. So it is not surprising to see all kinds of aspects with progressed Venus or progressed aspects with natal or progressed Venus when there are changes in love life, wether it is the beginning or the end of a relationship. (And of course: there are other astrological ways to get married, for example with progressed sunsigns changing).
  • Sun-Venus seems to point at love life and sometimes at the ‘love of your life’.
  • Moon-Venus is for falling in love (and being in the mood for love).
  • Venus-Mars is for passion.
  • Venus-Jupiter is perfect for celebrations.
  • Venus-Uranus is for tension (pleasant or not)
  • With Venus-Saturn and Venus-MC formal weddings start and end.
  • Venus-Neptune is for the romantic affair (often secret or platonic love)
  • With Venus-Pluto love is intense or 'renewed'.
These aspects don't mean that you need to fall in love or get married again. Venus-Uranus sometimes changes preferences and brings new pleasures and hobbies. Venus-Pluto sometimes points at a financial situation or difficult choices to make. And there are more reasons for celebrations (Venus-Jupiter) than a marriage...Here is a list of examples of progressed Venus or progressed aspects with Venus related to marriage, divorce and meeting the partner of your life. Continue to see them...

Progressed and natal chart of Prince Harry, the newsmaker

Prince Harry causes another uphevel. Newspapers all over the world bring the news that he apologized for using discriminating names for fellow soldiers. He also made fun of his grandmother, pretending to have a phone call with her and ending with giving his regards to the corgies (her famous dogs who are fed with golden spoons). OK, what is up today in the chart of Prince Harry?

Jupiter square Pluto (success and the price to pay)
Neptune inconjunct Sun (disproportional negative light)
Pluto semi square Midheaven (career problems - and with grandma)
Progressed opposition of Sun and Moon (a period of separation)

But most of all, look at this progressed chart of Prince Harry. Uranus and MC close together reflecting a longer period of being a newsmaker.

Relationships and sharing aspects

This post is about sharing the same aspect. For example when you have the same aspect in your chart as your partner, boss, family or enemy has.
Sharing aspects are reflecting shared experiences.
People live and work together. Sometimes the planets in their chart interact. Sometimes people share an aspect. I mean, that in their charts both have a meaningful connection between the same two planets. When it is exactly the same aspect, this aspect is vivid and active in their relationship. It is exactly what they share. Continue for an indication of how to interprete shared aspects and for examples (like the shared aspects of Joran van der Sloot and Natalee Holloway).

In Scorpio's defense

In defense of the sign that is most unwanted in China, here is something about Scorpio, the sign of the brave defenders. Raymond Domenech uses to avoid Scorpio's in his team and that is a pity.  Every sign contributes to the whole of the circle and the circle wouldn't be complete without Scorpio. We need Scorpio to investigate, defend and challenge, like we need Libra for the perfect (lack of) balance and making choices. Virgo is sharp in details and good at seeing the faults and mistakes. Scorpio is sharp at larger scale, vigilant. The stick of the pointing finger nail of Virgo is nothing compared to the sharpness of the eagle or the venom that can be produced by Scorpio. That is why Scorpio is not the most beloved sign:). But what if they use their influence and strength to protect you...

I wrote about Scorpio before (see that post), but now that it is Scorpio time, let me tell you something about the good things of Scorpio. We need Scorpio to stand firm, to offer resistance. The sign Scorpio is for being strong, vigilant, protective and strong willed. It depends on you how nice you find that! But that is just telling you about the SIGN Scorpio.
This is the portrait of the body guard of a Sheikh of Borneo
A person is not a sign. So, you don't have to take Scorpio pure and for 100%. Most of the time Scorpio's have the Moon and a Sun/Moon midpoint in one of the other signs. Those who were born under Scorpio may have a nice and sweet Ascendant, to ease the intensity and make you feel comfortable. The Sun may have major or minor aspects, too. Some Scorpio's are even stronger than the average 100% Scorpio is supposed to be! And some of them are self destructive. But, as Scorpio (in general) lives longer, they can't ALL be like that. Scorpio lives longer (really, see: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/03/scorpio-lives-longer.html ), but not all of them, I'm afraid.

FEMALE SCORPIO's
Here is the post on the chart, life and death of Princess Gracia of Monaco (Grace Kelly, the movie star): http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/04/from-grace-kelly-to-princess-gracia.html  The combination of Scorpio Sun and Pisces Moon made her mysterious...

Another woman with Sun Scorpio on this blog is Valerie Jarrett:
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2008/11/day-of-birth-of-valerie-jarrett.html

Or read about Marie Antoinette and her Louis (she a Scorpio Sun, he a Scorpio Moon): http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2013/05/the-astrology-of-marie-antoinette-and.html

And last but not least: Hilary Clinton has a 'calling' Sun in Scorpio. See the post on the leadership in her chart: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2010/10/leader-in-chart-of-hillary-clinton.html With Sun in Scorpio quintile Saturn she has a combination for the die hard and for a creative lasting strategy.

MALE SCORPIO's
Scorpio is not the warrior, like Mars is, but the defender; not the musles but the force; not fast but strong and sometimes both. See the post on Sem Schilt (Sun and Moon in Scorpio, K1 fighter).

Sometimes Scorpio doesn't fight at all, like Prince Charles (born November 14) or Bill Gates or Pablo Picasso. I can show you the chart of Scorpio Billy Graham, too. If that is not enough, try and Google 'Astropost' and the name of the Scorpio of your choice. Maybe there is a post about that chart, maybe not, so why not ask.

Just like in any sign there are criminals born under Scorpio. I have a few examples for you:

When your (progressed) chart met your partner's...

When you met your partner, did your progressed charts connect with each other or with the partner's natal chart? It is often so. When I met my husband, his progressed Saturn*) was exactly conjunct my natal Descendant (and that is how we got stuck together:). Also, my progressed Mars was trine his natal Sun. There is a time for everything, and maybe there is a time for meeting each other, too...
This month March the interaction between two charts will be in the spotlights here. And just like in a love story I start with 'meeting each other'.
" People meet or get to know each other at the moment that they share the same kind of situation or period in their life. Both partners are at the same time searching for hapiness or are sharing a good or bad moment and that 'connects' them. At least, you would think so when you see their progressed charts! The moment of meeting a person seems to be connected to the moment that your were born. That is what the astrology of meeting is about: to see the right time for loving."
I wrote that on Astromarkt, in: The Astrology of Meeting People and of course you find examples there, about all kinds of relationships and meetings.

Here is another one about love: the meeting of King Harald of Norway and his wife Sonja.
When King Harald V met his wife Sonja, his progressed Sun was conjunct Saturn, ruler 7. Her progressed Venus was inconjunct his Mars. His progressed Mars was trine his progressed Sun and Saturn and his progressed Venus was square her progressed Sun. A rather complicated picture, but it shows controlled passion and a period of strong love.
http://astrology-love-romance.blogspot.com/2009/05/famous-couple-harald-v-and-sonja-of.html
Of course, in order to meet somebody, you must be prepared to meet somebody, or you just don't notice the man or woman. And vice versa! It hurts when you fall in love and the other doesn't.  Take for example the first time that Prince Charles and Camilla met and he didn't notice her. Quote:

In June 1971, during a polo match, Camilla and Charles met for the first time. She had progressed Venus conjunct natal Saturn and semi square progressed Uranus. He had no special progressions at all. Her progressed ascendant is at the time of the meeting exactly sesqui square his progressed Jupiter. This all means that she had a bad period for love and was limited in her choices, but that she had met a chance for being happy (Jupiter), too soon (sesquisquare).

Sometimes, people meet without starting a relationship, yet. A semi square with Venus describes a senseless love. Bernadette Brady refers to semi squares as a 'frustrating not'. Sesquisquares with Jupiter however are supposed to bring advantages in a later stade!

Shall we see this as 'untimy falling-in-love'?

And, if that is so, was all this 'ment to be' or just coincidence?

How long will this love be going on?

How long will this last?
One of the first posts on Astrology-love-romance.blogspot.com is about this question and the effect of the elements on the length of a relationship. The composition of elements in your natal chart is one of the indications of how long you and a partner will be together. Of course there are other indications, too*). But the elements certainly have a big role to play.

Earth signs are the signs of realism and the wish to be respected. They are contributing to the length of relationships. Air signs are the signs of communications (and flirtations:). The fire signs are full of passion and the water signs are to be seduced (even though they like to belong to someone). The elements don't indicate if you will be faithful and true!:)

Capital signs take the initiative. The fixed signs hold on to what they have got. And the movable signs? They are not very stable.
EXAMPLES:

Mel Gibson has 60% in fixed signs and that might be the reason why his marriage lasted more than 20 years.

Rihanna (20 February 1988) has Moon, Venus and Mars in fire signs, the signs of passion.
Chris Brown (5 May 1989) doesn't have any position in fire signs. He has Sun, Moon and Venus in Taurus, 60% in earth signs all together.
See my blog
Art&Astrology for more about their relationship.
Dr. Robert Schuller (the television minister) has Moon, Venus and Mars in earth signs and that contributes to the length of his marriage.

Dutch Prince Bernhard (two daughters with two mistresses) had Venus and Mars in passionate fire signs. He did not divorce. He was a Cancer with 40% in watersigns.

His wife, Queen Juliana, had Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars in fixed signs. She knew about her husband's affairs and didn't divorce him after all.

John Kerry has Sun in Sagittarius, Moon and Mars in Gemini and Venus in Scorpio square Pluto. That is 3 times a flexible sign. He divorced and remarried a rich woman.

J.W. Jones, had Moon Venus and Mars in fire signs. Perhaps that explains the need for a lot of women.

John F. Kennedy had Sun and Venus in Gemini, Moon in Virgo (three times flexible signs) and he had Mars in Taurus. One woman was not enough for him. See the post about John and Jackie Kennedy.

Camille Parker Bowles waited all her life for the moment of her marriage (6 April 2005). She was the mistress of Prince Charles when they both were married. She has 50% in water signs. (See the post about Charles and Camilla).

Elisabeth Taylor (see link to Art&Astrology) has 50% in watersigns. She also has Gemini on the cusp of the 7th house of marriage. Gemini is an air sign and a double bodied sign. But that is another story. Read about that in the earlier post on this blog about
multiple marriages and double bodied signs.

*) Strong indications for divorce are in the aspects between the 1st and 7th house and:
- for women, afflictions between Sun-Mars, Sun-Uranus, Venus-Uranus or Mars-Saturn
- nfor men, afflictions between Moon-Saturn, Moon-Neptune, Venus-Neptune or Mars-Uranus
When there are more 3 or more of these indications it is hard to get or stay married, especially when it is the first relationship...

PS This is of course not all...

Dream weddings in astrology

Cinderella married a prince. It is a fairy tale. Few women (unless princesses themselves) get married to a royal or noble person or wed a millionaire. And even fewer men!
But if they did, they wouldn’t have to cook, wash, do vipers and make coffee and (for the men) they would always get a proper job just because they know the right persons. What a life of luxury! So if a woman does benefit from getting married in an extreme way, we would expect to see a whole lot of money and luxury related marriage in her chart, wouldn’t we?
There is another important indication for a miraculous wedding: Jupiter and Neptune are the combination of beliefs and devoted audiences and …great dreams. So I think that Venus with Jupiter and Neptune is the combination of the fairytale marriage (very – Jupiter- romantic – Venus+Neptune, but with a great chance – Jupiter- for disappointments in love – Venus+Neptune, as well). Maxima, Diana and Gracia have this ‘ theme’ in their charts.
Here are some examples of marriages between ‘ royal blood’ and ‘common people’.

1. Princess Maxima of the Netherlands married a rich boy who will be king one day. Her Venus is in hard aspect with Jupiter/Pluto. In the days around her wedding day the progressed Descendant was conjunct Juno, the symbol of the married woman. With Venus trine her Ascendant it is no surprise that she is the most popular one of the Dutch royal family. She has (Mercury and) Venus in a (wider) inconjunct with the conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune. And that is a combination for a fairytale.

2. Princess Diana married Prince Charles on July 19, 1981. In her chart Jupiter(ruler 1) is inconjunct the elevated Pluto in a ‘ Cinderella or ‘ harem’ degree’*), reflecting the extraordinary price to pay for success. The progressed Midheaven was square Pholus to illustrate the ‘ turning point’ on her wedding day, with Midheaven sextile Mars and 75 degrees from the Sun in her 7th house of marriage. Quaoar trine the Descendant might mirror the new reality that started when she married her prince. I quote Astromarkt:
Three of the midpoint combinations are on Zero Aries! (Venus/Jupiter, Venus/Neptune, Jupiter/Neptune, variying on the theme of Venus/Jupiter/Neptune that I found in the charts of those doing a fortunate marriage).

And of course: for a 'dream' wedding!:)

3. Princess Victoria of Sweden (July 14, 1977 at 9:45, source Astrotheme.fr) is about to marry a ‘ common’ young man next month, named Daniel Westling (born September 15, 1973). He has Jupiter trine Pluto and square Venus and maybe that is just one of the reflections of successful marriage and a lot of money. He has Saturn rising before his Sun. For their match, see Astrology & Love…

Three different stories that I like to complete with Grace Kelly’s Juno trine Midheaven (a position related to marriage) and Venus, Jupiter and Pluto (sesquisemisquare) in aspect with Quaoar (a complete new world through a successful marriage). There is also Venus sesquisquare Jupiter and sextile Neptune.

But where is ‘ royalty’ in their charts? With these aspects and transits they could have married a successful CEO as well. The amount of indications for social growth and success together with indications for the successful marriage give an indication of the level of growth. And of course, you have to be in the position to meet royalty or the rich…What is success anyway? Maybe for most of us a successful marriage is a lasting marriage:).

Here is the chart of Maxima and the transits and progressions of her wedding day:

Sun/Mars midpoint combination

A midpoint is the point in the middle of two positions in a chart. Any object on that midpoint or in hard aspect with that midpoint creates a midpoint combination. This post is about the midpoint combinations with Sun/Mars. Sun/Mars can be the midpoint of the man in your life - in women’s charts: when I had progressed MC conjunct Sun/Mars I met my husband- and provides information about the nature of your energy level and how you manifest your drives.
Monument to the Sun in Croatia, by Andrej Salov

The midpoint combinations with Moon, Mercury and Venus have been published in earlier posts about Sun/Moon, Sun/Mercury and Sun/Venus. New are Sun/Mars/Jupiter, Sun/Mars/Saturn, Sun/Mars/Uranus, Sun/Mars/Neptune, Sun/Mars/Pluto, Sun/Mars/Node, Sun/Mars/AC and Sun/Mars/MC.

Sun/Mars/Moon
"Impatience, action, promotion, drives and energy are being highlighted, sometimes people with this combination actually are ‘in sports’ or activists. In the chart of a female this midpoint combination often highlights the importance of the opposite sex. Anyone with Sun/Moon/Mars-combinations wants marriage and family life to be productive and sees marriage as a sort of a joint venture. They need speed and action to feel alive."

Sun/Mars/Mercury
"The sharp mind often produces sharp opinions. I know of a comedian with a threefold combination of Sun/Mercury/Mars. His words really 'cut' and 'hit' you when you are the target!"

Sun/Mars/Venus
"Sun/Venus in hard aspect with Mars: that is a combination for passion, art and love. Both Paris Hilton and Paul McCartney have Sun conjunct Venus/Mars: that is another way to make a Sun/Venus/Mars midpoint combination."

Sun/Mars/Jupiter
When Jupiter is in hard aspect with Sun/Mars you are likely having success thanks to a lot of energy and drive. Dutch conqueror Piet Hein had Sun semi square Mars/Jupiter. Nelson Mandela has Mars square Sun/Jupiter.

Sun/Mars/Saturn
Sun/Mars with Saturn finds fewer joy in working and being a man with responsibilities, unless the person involved sees his duties as only natural. Mars-Saturn is the aspect combination of discipline and being disciplined. The military is one of the territories of Mars-Saturn. This combination might also reflect mourning. Prince William has Sun/Saturn conjunct Mars. Prince Charles has Sun/Mars square Saturn.

Women might live with a man who is not always there for them or life with (or without) a man can be hard. Michele Martin, the wife of serial killer Marc Dutroux, responsible for the death of two 8 year old girls, has Sun/Mars conjunct Saturn (Sun in 24 Capricorn, Mars 0 Capricorn and Saturn 12 Capricorn).

Sun/Mars/Uranus
The explosive nature of Mars and Uranus is being highlighted by the Sun when there is a midpoint combination of Sun, Mars and Uranus. Sometimes this combination refers to ‘an accident’ (getting pregnant, too) and arrests. The ability of acceleration is the other side of this combination.
Zinedine Zidane has Uranus square Sun/Mars. Osama bin Laden had Sun/Uranus conjunct Mars.

Sun/Mars/Neptune
Sun/Mars and Neptune is more obscure. Someone with this midpoint combination might work in secret business or be involved in ‘an affair’. Another resonation is lost of energy due to poison or drugs or being the victim of aggression…it can’t be all that bad. Rudi Guiliani has Mars conjunct Sun/Neptune, for example.

Sun/Mars/Pluto
Sun/Mars and Pluto intensifies vital male energies. Mars with Pluto is the combination of the drive to win. The sun is highlighting this drive. The ‘strong man’ (in force or in politics) has such a midpoint combination. For example: Lula da Silva (Sun square Mars/Pluto) and Pope Benedict XVI: Sun/Mars semi square Pluto.

Sun/Mars/Node
Sun/Mars and Nodes is the combination of the working community of men, a team of workers and of producing together.

Sun/Mars/Ascendant
Sun/Mars and Ascendant offers opportunities to be active, assertive and/or aggressive. Bruce Willis has Mars semi square Sun/Ascendant.

Sun/Mars/MC
The team leader (the coordinating worker) has Sun/Mars in hard aspect with Midheaven but this combination pops up in the charts of famous women, too. Jane Fonda, Barbra Streisand and Stephanie Grimaldi have Sun/Mars/MC. They are active and energetic. Dutch king-to-be Prince William Alexander also has this midpoint combination.

Camilla's broken leg

The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, married to Prince Charles, broke or at least injured her leg. This happened yesterday when she was hillwalking, even though it was a bit slippery. This is just a B-rated chart, but it has Mars on the Ascendant, very much in line with an accident, an injury and pain. Mars is also square her progressed Moon (exactly square Ascendant). Any Progressed Moon in Scorpio square Mars and Ascendant is showing that it is no time for overdoing things, but I bet that she had not seen her horoscope today. The situation (Ascendant) did the rest.

How long will your relationship last?

This post is about the effect of the elements and the length of a relationship.

Here are some famous examples:

Mel Gibson has 60% in fixed signs and that might be the reason why his marriage lasted more than 20 years.

Rihanna (20 February 1988) has Moon, Venus and Mars in fire signs, the signs of passion.
Chris Brown (5 May 1989) doesn't have any position in fire signs. He has Sun, Moon and Venus in Taurus, 60% in earth signs all together.
See my blog Art&Astrology for more about their relationship.

Camille Parker Bowles waited all her life for the moment of her marriage (6 April 2005). She was the mistress of Prince Charles when they both were married. She has 50% in water signs.

Elisabeth Taylor has 50% in watersigns. She also has Gemini on the cusp of the 7th house of marriage. Gemini is an air sign and a double bodied sign. But that is another story. Read about that in the earlier post on this blog about multiple marriages and double bodied signs.

*) Strong indications for divorce are in the aspects between the 1st and 7th house and:
for women, afflictions between Sun-Mars, Sun-Uranus, Venus-Uranus or Mars-Saturn
for men, afflictions between Moon-Saturn, Moon-Neptune, Venus-Neptune or Mars-Uranus
When there are more 3 or more of these indications it is hard to get or stay married.

More AstroClick Travel lines

In this post I get further into AstroClick Travel lines to see if they are in line with people's careers. The results are interesting. President Holande is not at best in France. Queen Elizabeth is very formal in the UK. President Obama should move his office to New Orleans. It is just for fun (and I keep telliing you this:).

What is AstroClick Travel?  AstroClick travel lines gives you information about the astrological influences you can experience at a given place on earth. Astro.com's advice is to use AstroClick for entertainment, and not to base major decisions on it! AstroClick travel chart is one of the free charts offered by Astro.com, only available in the English section. What you get is a globe with the crossing lines of planets, Sun and Moon with Ascendant, Descendant, IC and Midheaven, for example: Sun/Midheaven or Mercury/Descendant. Those lines are supposed to represent personal experiences related to the places on earth below those lines.

POLL
I gave an example in an earlier post and then I asked you about your experiences or to do the poll. There were 5 respondents, so I can hardly find the results (scroll down) representative for the users. But unlike   in other polls, they are unanimous: AstroClick Travel works!

It is just for fun, but do AstroClick Travel lines correspond with events and results in places where you live, too, I wondered? So I checked the charts of famous persons to see if their AstroClick Travel lines are in line with their career.

ASTROCLICKS FOR VIP's
Consider this…
Is France OK for Holande?
  • Queen Beatrix' freedom of action is limited (Saturn AC line) in her own country, where her credibility was tested. She is more easy going in the Netherlands Antilles (Mercury Ascendant line). And that is correct!
  • Queen Elizabeth is even more 'remote' in her own country, with Saturn MC/Node DC's crossing line over London. It is the place where she accepts her destiny.
  • Her grandson William may expect a position of authority in London one day (Pluto MC).
  • Is it a sign for the future, that the Neptune IC line is the closest line with London, in the chart of Prince Charles?
  • Job related actions in France should be avoided by …. Francois Hollande! His Mercury IC line crosses the nation. (But he is on top of the nation! Does this mean that Mercury IC is OK, that his hour of birth is not or that the AstroClick lines have their exceptions?)
  • Deep painful conflicts were waiting in Spain and especially in Madrid of all places (Chiron AC line) for Inaki Urdangarin. He married the daughter of King Juan Carlos and was arrested for fraud.
  • Silvio Berlusconi's Italy is covered by Moon Descendant, a line for retirement and memories.
  • Vladimir Putin's Pluto MC line over Moscow promises a powerful position over there…
  • Prince Johan Friso is in coma in a London hospital, exactly where his Saturn DC line is.

AMERICAN PRESIDENTS
The lines over Washington in the charts of American Presidents are interesting and thought provoking.

- Try Barack Obama in Washington and what you get is unstability for business (Moon AC) but feeling at home with the children. He should move his office to New Orleans for success! (Jupiter MC line)

- Bill Clinton feels uncomfortable in Washington (Chiron AC: lessons to learn). He is more self confident in New York (Jupiter AC) and more successful in Rome or Berlin (Jupiter MC).

Maybe their hours of birth aren't correct? Or are there exceptions? Or... is it just for fun?

- George W. Bush, however, had pleasant family times in Washington (Jupiter DC), although also stress (Pluto AC).

- Richard Nixon's Neptune MC line over Washington seems to have announced loss of position…

BONO and ISTANBUL
I certainly advice you to have a look at the chart of Bono and the interesting crossing line over Istanbul. It is a mixture of Jupiter MC and Pluto DC. In the text they mention religion, spiritual ideals, and the danger of fanaticism and even despotism. I read that the people of Istanbul asked Bono to use his influence on his friend Erdogan (yes, they seem to be close, see: http://www.todayszaman.com/newsDetail_getNewsById.action?load=detay&link=221375  )*.

As the hour of birth of Recep Erdogan is unknown, we may never know what line in his chart crosses Istanbul...

CONCLUSION
You'd better not have a Jupiter MC line over the ocean if you want to have a great position in life…unless you settle down on a ship crossing that line:).  LOL

Saturn in relationships

With Saturn in a relationship you know what you (don’t) have. Saturn aspects in synastry usually are considered to be bad. Perhaps these aspects don't make it easier, but one thing is sure: they often reflect long lasting relationship. This does not mean that it is a nice and shiny romantic relationship. It can be any kind of relationship. Saturn is the symbol of business, too.

There may be good reasons for the official marriage to continue or for keeping in touch and sharing responsibilities (obligations - real or imagined -, material security, children, laws or a facade). One of the ways to reflect the Saturnal influence in a relationship is ‘keeping up appearances’. Sometimes this is because of a public function and sometimes just for the world outside. Saturn is the (sometimes two component) glue that keeps a relationship going, even if you would like it to end.

A broken heart on a chain suites this story about Saturn and realtions. It is harder to keep the heart on the right place and it might cost a lot of glue to hold things together. But this is only in the end, of course, when the relationship failed...and if the Saturn influence in relationships was already visible in the natal chart. I have a few examples of couples in politics, royal couples, actors and of not famous (but interesting) couples.

ENTERTAINMENT
A divorced couple in my country (she a song writer, he a singer) has a son who needs to be taken care of because of several handicaps. They fight each other at court, because she is not willing to leave his house. She cannot find a house that is just as large as this and she wants a stable for her horses. What keeps them 'related' even after divorce, astrologically speaking? Saturn! Her Saturn is semi square his natal Sun.

Elisabeth Taylor married again and again and sometimes she married the same person, Richard Burton. She has Venus conjunct Uranus in Aries and that explains her impulsive decisions. This conjunction is inconjunct the Sun and Saturn of Richard Burton. That reflect the disproportionate (inconjunction) relationship.
Her Saturn is trine his Descendant. Burton has Sun conjunct an oriental Saturn and Venus in Capricorn. Liz has Sun semi quintile a 'calling' Saturn.

PRESIDENTS
President Sarkozy married singer Carla Bruni. His Saturn is conjunct her Venus and trine her Ascendant. Should I read it like this: they are together because of her good looks and his position? See the post about this famous couple. Bruni has Sun square Saturn (ruler 7th house of marriage).

Saturn of Bill Clinton is exactly square Hillary's Sun. They did not divorce in spite of their difficulties. Maybe they separated their lives, but officially they are still married. Their relationship stands like a rock. Hillary has Venus square Saturn.

Barack Obama's Saturn is inconjunct Michelle's Sun. Her Jupiter is trine his Sun, however, and that is tighter aspect (see the reading of the famous couple's charts). The composite chart has Sun square Saturn.
What does this couple share with the Clintons?

Both are or have been Presidents of the United States and I presume that their function and status (symbolised by Saturn) has two effects on the lives of their partners. One: they are restricted and limited in a way, by obligations and protocol. It would not be easy to divorce the most important person in the world and the world is watching every step and move to see if something is wrong. The other side is status and a position in society that is strongly related to the husband. His fall is yours, when you are a first lady.

The Kennedy's have a Saturn-connection. Her Saturn is biquintile his Mars. His Saturn is square her Moon. In the composite chart Sun and Moon are square Saturn. John F. Kennedy had several mistresses and affairs in the short period of his presidency. What effect would this have had on their marriage?

ROYAL EXAMPLES
Queen Juliana of the Netherlands was married to Prince Bernhard and they remained married even after serious problems and even though she knew that he had daughters with two of his mistresses. His Saturn is square her Midheaven, her Saturn is conjunct his Mars. The government of those days told her that she had to step back if she divorced. So she could not leave him and she left their bedroom instead. Bernhard had Venus square Saturn.

Saturn of Prince Charles was inconjunct Jupiter ruler 1 of Princess Diana and they divorced, but as she was the mother of the next king to be, there was an important unbreakable tie between them. In their composite chart the Sun is sextile Saturn.

ORDINARY PEOPLE
I could go on and on with these kind of examples. But what if you are not 'famous', royal, not the first lady or the President? 80% of the women in the world depend on the social position of their husband. They don't all have Saturn aspects in synastry. Saturn may create a situation of obligations and mutual responsibilities (as a parent for example).

Example: a couple living apart ‘apart’ but officially married. His Saturn is exactly square her Pluto and Pluto is her ruler 1. When he stepped out of the house, she had progressed Sun opposition Pluto and he had a progressed inconjunction of Venus and Saturn with progressed Ascendant square Saturn. Venus is inconjunct Saturn in his natal chart, too, so this aspect activated the existing 'to say goodbye to your lover, but...'. Her Venus is conjunct Saturn. So they share the aspect of the official marriage (and the disadvantages of it).

Most people divorce when the marriage is over. I know a couple that shared Venus square Saturn (they both had that aspect in their chart) and they divorced. But there remain problems between them because of the child that they have. The relationship did not end with the marriage, because of responsibilities and parenthood. They divorced because their Saturns didn’t aspect a personal planet of the partner.

EVERLASTING...eh...LOVE?
Charts belong to individuals and their specific situations. Individuals discover unique ways to express the astrological symbols. Saturn is the symbol of what is long lasting. But sometimes with Saturn problems, trouble and difficulties together just don't seem to come to an end. Does this mean that you should avoid Saturn-kind of relationships? Even if Saturn is important in relationships, according to your natal chart? Perhaps if that is, you are drawn to serious, secure, long lasting relationships and you might avoid the one night stand pleasures. There is a good side and a bad side about Saturn. The good side is that you know what you have (or not...:)
