Grand Crosses, Mars-Eris, nuances and New Moon chart 2015

Yesterday, I was surfing on the Internet when I found an interview with an astrologer who said to fear the Grand Cross of April, and particularly on April 15 and in the USA. I was confused. There is no Grand Cross in April.

Then I realized that it was about the Grand Cross of April 2014. On April 15 the Grand Cross wasn't exact. I think that 'April 15' was mentioned because of the lunar eclipse (visible in the America's and Australia/New Zeeland only). Well, on April 15, 2014 there was no catastrophe in the USA (not a natural one and neither in politics) but there is always one somewhere. This time, in Africa, Boko Haram abducted hundreds of girls and ruined their and their family's lives. The day after there was a disaster with a cruise ship in Korea. But nothing that changed the world in the USA.

Now I learned that major earth quakes have rather mediocre charts for the day of the event (see about catastrophic eruptions: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/02/mediocre-chart-positions-of.html Those were the kind of eruptions that caused hunger all over the world for years!). So, given these historical facts, I don’t expect a catastrophe when there is a Grand Cross, because I ask myself:

How many catastrophes happened with a tight Grand Cross? (And how many without?)**)

The aspect reflects tension, but not necessarily an event of Grand Importance on the specific day. However, here is some nuance: big events have a long shadow ahead. 

Charts of Astrological New Year and the First New Moon of the year, carry information about the months ahead. So it was in 2014.

2014 was the year when the conflict in Ukrain turned into civil war and the nations with nuclear power choose their sides. On June 29 ISIS renamed itself Islamic State and we know what happened next. And on July 17 hundreds of innocent civilians lost their lives when a rocket hit their plane above Ukraine. Nobody could have predicted these events in details. But there is a danger of conflicts in the important charts of 2014. Here are some posts on Astropost, published ahead of that danger:

1. The New Moon chart (Mars opposition Eris and Eris inconjunct Saturn)

The chart had Mars opposition Eris and Eris inconjunct Saturn. It is not a pleasant chart.

‘Around the 10th of July Mars will be opposite Uranus and square Pluto again. And later that month Mars will again be opposite Eris. Does that promise conflicts again in July? I hope not.’

2. Putin and the Grand Cross

In April of 2014, I wrote about the Grand Square (or Grand Cross) hitting the chart of Vladimir Putin in 2014. He is still around, and there is still the danger of a growing conflict in Europe as his troops and the troops of NATO keep testing at the edge of dangerous borders. In 2014 he conquered Crimia.

3. The sad day: Mars afflicted in July 2014

Grand Crosses may not directly ‘inflict’ or ‘cause’ international catastrophes, but there is tension and that shows. So don’t expect the catastrophe to start at the very moment of the aspect, but be aware of what happens next, especially in regions of tension and (more personal) when you are in a stressful situation. Grand Crosses are rare and so are catastrophes, but they don’t necessarily occur at the same moment. The Grand Cross of April 2014 for me personally didn’t bring much tension. I was preparing for a holiday. The degrees didn’t ‘hit’ my chart. If it hit yours, tension might have thrown a shadow ahead for the next period in 2014. 

HOW ABOUT 2015?

In the light of what is been written above, it’s not a good sign that Mars is conjunct Eris in the chart of Astrological New Year 2015, either*) But maybe I should explain that there are

conjunctions of Mars and Eris every (about) 2 year and that doesn’t start a World War. There are military conflicts going on all the time. Conflicts don’t need a Mars conjunct Eris to begin. 

I decided to publish the chart of the first New Moon in the new astrological year, because I found that chart more descriptive for the year than the chart of Zero Aries. As New Moon was on 'New Year's Eve' of the Astrological New Year, we have to wait till April 18 for that First New Moon. In the chart of that moment, we see Sun conjunct Moon (of course), both trine Quaoar and biquintile Saturn. Now I know that it is ‘just’ Quaoar and ‘just’ a minor aspect but I like to see the symbol of new horizons, for all, and the aspect of creating stability. It is so much better than Mars conjunct Eris. So let’s believe in that chart! It might help. Why else do politicians in India offer gift to the gods in order to make their bad charts work better on April 23 (elections***)? They do so for ages and I haven’t read (yet) that it is no use:). CharlieHebdo charts

Here is the chart of France (5th Republic, source Astrodatabank) with transit Uranus square natal Sun, mirroring the shocking state of the nation (and waking up the hard way, perhaps) following the brutal murders in the office of CharlieHebdo that made millions (and me) sad and angry. It was not the first terrorist attack in Europe. Madrid and London came first. It wasn't the first time that cartoonists in Europe were the target of terrorists. Denmark was first (see 'Birth chart of a cartoonist in danger'). The attempt to kill free speech in Europe started with Salmon Rushdie. After the brutal murder on Theo van Gogh (see post), threats for not welcome plays, movies or expositions in the eyes of islamists, anxious political correctness and the coming up of IS, it was quite clear that more was to come. Is it strange that now that Saturn entered Sagittarius, that this limited freedom of speech is the issue today?

In France, there were a number of attacks (some with cars) before, and the authorities stated that the men who committed these crimes were isolated lone wolves with psychological problems. Maybe the two brothers could be considered insane as well. They think that hurt feelings  - when their religion is involved - are a license to kill. They believe that their religion allows or even supports this and I am afraid that there are a couple of thousands like them.

Here you see the charts of the moment of the attack with (in transit) the positions on the days of birth of the two murderous brothers. It seems that their parents left them at a very young age. In the chart of the brothers, Sun-Uranus (major and minor aspect) tells us about possible alienation. They sure isolated themselves in the eyes of the majority, on January 7.

There is a Mars-Uranus connection in one of the terrorists' charts. I like to point at the fact that most of the terrorists' charts that I know of contain such a connection, as you can see on my site Astromarkt. Maybe, in case of restricted budgets, secret services could start to follow up on guys (and girls) with such a Mars-Uranus issue, because they are the front liners and the one with the short fuses. I wish that I was brave enough to be Charlie. I am not. I am anonymous and I always weigh my words carefully in spite of my Mercury opposite Uranus, because I am aware of the dangers. There is already such an amount of political correctness and fear in Europe, that in my opinion, freedom of speech has house arrest and will have to be strong to defend itself. The CharlieHebdo crew must have (had) special courage and special drives to dare to shock (and amuse) their public. It is in the nature of a cartoonist to walk on the edge, always. But it's only in the last decades that this might cost them their lives. This attack fuels the already existing tension in Europe. Politicians are afraid of what will happen next and hurry to tell us that we must not be scared. Paris is far far away?

Life went on after 911, after London, after Madrid and nothing much changed except that columnists, cartoonists, cabaretiers and journalist have more and more turned to political correctness, because they love life. Let's hope, that just like in the books of Tolkien, the monsters will be defeated and we can all go back to our garden of flowers as usual, until the next attack. Will we have to get used to this, like in the Middle East, in Nigeria, in Syria? Does this really 'awake' us?

The sixties are past and gone. It seems like there is no more 'Age of Aquarius' (you know the song?) dawning (or has it started in March 2012, read this...).  It looks more like a decline, to the same dark ages that hold the people of countries like Iran, Syria and Nigeria. It will be hard to turn the tides. I am still looking for positive signs for future peace (and I don't mean after being defeated). Have you found any?

2014/2015

On March 16 Uranus will be square Pluto for the last time since 2011, but this doesn't mean that there will be no more tension and world peace danger after that. It won't be more, that is a fact. The spring chart (the astrological new year's chart) will still have Uranus-Pluto's square within a 5 degree orb and it will last until 2018 to finally fade away. Uranus-Pluto will hit the chart of Vladimir Putin again this year, but won't be exact in Barack Obama's chart. The crisis is getting less in the USA and stronger in Russia these days, in line with the leaders' charts. The charts of the NATO and EURO, however, show difficulties in February/March 2015. It will be tense in Europe. How about ISIS? I don't know. I hope that they will be defeated in the end, but when I see what happens with the Taliban in Afghanistan, I have my serious doubts that there will ever be peace as long as fanatics want us all to surrender as if we live in the books of Tolkien. 

How about us?

Predictions are like advanced weather reports. It depends on how you live and who you are wether the weather will effect you. For example, King Philip of Belgium had his progressed Sun inconjunct Saturn. He enjoys his Xmas holiday, while there is criticism because of the way of transport (a military plane) in times of reductions on the military budget (this in times of world wide tension...).  Predicting the future is like in that picture above: trying to have a look into another world, that of 2015. It is simply an astrological weather report and sometimes there isn't much that you can do to stop the rain from falling. However, an umbrella helps a bit. 

I don't do sun sign predictions. But I do have a message for those who are born on certain days. It is about Uranus-Pluto and tension. 

Those who may need strong nerves are born between January 3 and 7, April 2 and 7, July 4 and 9 or October 6 and 11. They are not alone. If your birthday + number of years happens to be one of these data, you might also have to deal with a tense year.  If your natal or progressed Ascendant or Midheaven or midpoint Sun/Moon is in the 13-17th degree of the Capital signs, you may also be looking forward to unexpected problems and changes. Don't be afraid, because if you take care for yourself and your safety and if Uranus-Pluto is not important in your natal chart, it won't effect you in person.

Let me tell you about the good news of 2015.

Jupiter moves between 13 Leo and 24 Virgo. Those with a birthday between August 5 and September 16 are likely to be helped, to move forward or to be happy in 2015. If your Ascendant or Midheaven is in those degrees of Leo and Virgo, you may feel the beneficial effect. It might be a remedy, someone to assist you or a trip...

Aries born between April 2 and 20 is the lucky one. So is Taurus born between April 21 and May 15. For example, the person born on April 21 will have Jupiter square Sun between August 10 and August 16. He or she just had to take care not to want too much...

Sagittarius born between December 4 and 22 has a beautiful aspect to look forward to: Juputer trine natal Sun. I was born on December 12 and if I am righ, I will enjoy this on 19/20 January and June 21 2015. Positive things come with Jupiter. I hope it is true.

Serious in 2015

Saturn will make you alert if you were born between November 20 and December 3. With a birthday between August 21 and September 4, you could be confronted with mistakes, debts and limitations somehow or have to say goodbye to a situation or person. This might also be the case for persons with any point in the chart between 29 of the fixed signs and 12 of the movable signs.

Funny 2015

Venus in 2015 moves from the final degrees of Capricorn to the first of Sagittarius. This doesn't mean that Sagittarians won't have any fun next year. That is because there are more positions than the Sun in your chart, because there is a progressed Sun in Capricorn or Aquarius and because there are trines. Venus' trines will hit my natal Sun 3 times and there are 21 moments of fun as far as I know, without counting my birthday, Xmas and my progressed birthday (I celebrate my birthday + number of years = number of days:). Read about the many happy moments in a year..They are like lit candles in the darkness.

Venus is for fun and seldom symbolize big changes when she passes bye as Transit Venus. But she is great for a visit to the hair dresser or to meet nice people.

As people are not signs and signs are not people, and as a person born on your birthday won't have your life (or death), it is clear that there is more than an astrological weather message to get a full picture of your situation and feelings in 2015. You need a birth time and place to make a chart. But you also need to know your condition and situation (age, gender, social position, country, genes). We are complicated and so is the world. It helps to make the world better, because it would help to change the meaning of transits like those of Saturn. In the Middle Ages, if you were at the wrong place and time, you could loose your head with Saturn on MC and as it happens, so it is in certain parts of the world today. Change that and Saturn's symbol will change so that it just means that your position makes you worry (a bit) about responsibilities, guilt, mortgages or people's criticism. Let's support all those who try to keep and make the world a place to love.
