The Venus and Pholus of Whoopi Goldberg

Oops, Whoopi Goldberg confessed that she has been untrue, too! I couldn’t believe it just like that, I just had to see her chart. And there he was: Pholus, now conjunct her progressed Mercury (symbol of communications). It was perhaps a statement that was ‘ bubbling up’; sort of a message in bottle, uncorked just like that...
The conjunction of Progressed Mercury and natal Pholus reveals a mental turning point. Pholus is also semi sextile her progressed Sun and transit Saturn is semi square her natal Sun/Moon midpoint (and that might make her family life a little colder today).

THREE MARRIAGES
Of course it takes a marriage or a relationship to be able to cheat.
In the natal chart we see Jupiter in the 7th house (multiple marriage), conjunct Pluto (perhaps for an awful lot of marriages). I checked the internet and found out that she married and divorced three times. For more about multiple marriages, click this link to see the post on this blog.
BTW Jupiter and Pluto are in hard minor aspect with the midpoint of Ascendant and Midheaven and that is a statement for success.

LOVE AND ROMANCE
Her Venus is ‘ calling’ on Midheaven; this is reflecting entertainment and style at any possible level, related to her career. The Moon is also important (in Scorpio, rising before her Sun and quintile Jupiter; she has a strong need to defend those of her party, side, family etcetera). Neptune is the first outer planet rising before the Sun. Moon, Venus and Neptune are important. That is how I see the pattern of artistic talent in her chart. There is also a novile between Venus and Neptune.

The same pattern also shows romantic feelings (Moon and Venus for feelings, Neptune for romance). Thats one of the reasons why there are so many divorces in the world of entertainment. The fact that Venus is calling on Midheaven and in the sign of Sagittarius ' helps' to ' hunt' in love. Sagittarius is not the most faithful position for Venus. A Venus in Sagittarius in a bad marriage loves to pack her bags or take a short trip if she can. Whoopi could.
You see, her Uranus doesn’t make major aspects in 5 degrees or in sign and that makes her Uranus ‘ calling’, too. Uranus is the symbol of rebellion, independence and upheaval, now and then. Did I already mention that Mars in Libra is ‘ calling’? With Venus and Mars ‘ calling’ this is what you get: passion, anyhow, somehow. Seven positions in fixed signs didn’t keep her in her marriages and even didn’t stop her from seeing others or from keeping this a secret, in spite of her Scorpio Sun, Moon, Mercury and Saturn. That is how strong a ' calling' Venus, Mars, Moon and Uranus are.
(With a bit of fantasy you could read the prominent four like this: need for passionate adventures... or driven by falling in love again and again...It all depends on who and where and in what age (and time or place) you are with such a combination. The combination and in particular the prominent Venus is also reflecting the fun that she has and that she gives us with her characters.)

SUPPORT FOR TIGER WOODS
What Whoopi said was related to the troubles of Tiger Woods and she probably ment to support him. His Jupiter is biquintile her Sun and her Jupiter is quintile his Mars and square his Venus. Jupiter is the reflection of support and in this case of mutual help.

Sodano's oriental Moon in Scorpio speaks...

Cardinal Sodano has Venus square Pluto and semi square Neptune. See the post about Venus-Pluto related to the problems in the church. Although he chooses to ignore the problem, he managed to increase the scandal by calling the accusatioins of abuse ´gossip´.
He said today that it is better to ignore the 'gossip'...

The strong and defensive Moon in Scorpio*) rises before his natal Sun, like in the chart of Cantalamessa: own folks first...(bias). Sodano's Sun might be in the final degree of Scorpio or in the first of Sagittarius, but is always square Neptune and trine Uranus (maybe out of sign). Uranus and Neptune are in mutual reception now and transit Uranus is square his natal Pholus.

Again, upheaval and sensation (Uranus) about a cardinal (Pisces) shooting his own feet (Pholus).

Urbi et Orbi and solar return charts Pope

This is the chart of noon today, moment of the Easter blessing in Rome. The positions on the outside of the circle are the positions on the day of birth of the Pope. Uranus-Jupiter seems to be of strong influence in this chart. The midpoint of Jupiter-Uranus of the Pope AND of today's Jupiter-Uranus crosses the Midheaven of the noon chart. It is a sign of relief or positive change and new hope, even though Uranus is very close to Midheaven, signaling the possibility of ' riots' or sensation. It is just the chart of a moment in time and place, when the ceremony starts (perhaps better than the Pope expected). Did you know that Benedict had such a difficult solar return last year? This is the chart with Saturn - the symbol of the status quo, endings and restrictions - on top...

But there are very difficult transits at the moment, including one coming from Pholus, the symbol of the uncontrolable turning point:

The Uranus-Neptune mutual reception in the final degrees of the signs may be reflecting the idea that the RC Church is in it's final days and the difficult transits of the church's leader (often mirroring the state of the church itself) don't make it much easier now that the victims (Neptune, too!) open up (Uranus) and there is no way to hide the fact that the church has been an asylum for pedophiles, for decades. I wonder in what way a positive Urbi et Orbi chart might make a difference. I guess not.

Last week Raniero Cantalamessa read a ‘ letter from a Jewish person’ - who compared the upheaval around abuse by priests with the Holocaust! - and caused another row in the media doing so…Here is his chart of his day of birth with transits related to scandal and upheaval: Neptune sesquisquare progressed Sun and transit Uranus quindecile progressed Sun. The present scandal in the church of course has a strong effect on any priest or monk, but Cantalamessa is one of the messengers of the RC Church. URANUS-NEPTUNE MUTUAL RECEPTION
Uranus and Neptune have been 'working together' for the last past years; they are about 30 degrees apart and that is a semi sextile aspect. Also they are in each other's sign (Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius), so in ' mutual reception'. That makes the effect of the semisextile more intense. As Neptune is the symbol of faith and beliefs, while Uranus is the symbol of upheaval it may be no surprise that there is a lot of upheaval today in the Roman Catholic Church as this church is strongly related to the sign of Pisces and to Neptune (salvation, devotion, convents, and sacrifices).

This is the chart of the day of birth of Cantalamessa. In the natal chart Cantalamessa’s Pluto is rising before the Sun. That makes him a politician: strategy first, always taking care of the impact and influence of what he does or says. But in the progressed chart the first outer planet is now Neptune, conjunct Moon: emotions and religion come first. When the Moon is rising before the Sun, bias, emotions and the need to show where you belong sometimes take over. In those cases people start following their needs and instinct. CANTALAMESSA AND THE POPE
The words of Cantalamessa might be his own but they have an effect on the Pope, too. The synastry of the charts of the Pope and Cantalamessa shows strong influences.

- The Pluto of Cantalamessa is square the Pope’s Sun (there is influence and authority in the relationship).

- Pholus is opposition Mars and inconjunct Venus in the chart of the Pope (reflecting a turning point in passions).
The Pholus of the Pope is inconjunct the natal Sun and opposition the Venus of Cantalamessa, so that this turning point or starting point is strongly influencing the life and choices of Cantalamessa.

It is interesting that the symbols of challenges and change (or difficulties and problems that seem to be out of control) are the binding elements between Cantalamessa and Pope Benedict.

(BTW The Venus of the priest is conjunct the Mars and semi sextile the Venus of the Pope. Maybe that refers to admiration for the passion and drive of Benedict XVIth).

L.Ron Hubbard's chart (again)

LAFAYETTE RON HUBBARD, founder of Scientology, was born 13 March 1911, 2:01, Tilden, Nebraska USA. I had a look at his chart before (related to the chart of Tom Cruise, one of his followers), but it is almost Easter and time for fresh new looks, isn't it? Also, Scientology is news again (and Uranus is square his progressed Sun), and I like to see where Pholus is in charts.
Did you know that Jupiter is conjunct Pholus in his chart and that this is the tightest applying aspect? It is the reflection of a twist in conviction with a bubbling effect:). In May 1950 the (science fiction) writer Hubbard published his theory of unhypnotising, a method to get rid of the influence of traumatic memories. That was with his progressed Sun sign changing (a sign for a change in lifestyle)! And that in 1951 when he turned from pop therapist to religious leader, transit Pholus was square progressed Sun.

LOT OF STORIES
The tightest aspect is Mercury trine Jupiter and both are connected to Neptune, making it a grand trine. The grand trine involves the Jupiter-Neptune connection for having fans/followers and for growing in the immaterial field. Mercury is in opposition with the midpoint Jupiter/Neptune; we see a lot of fantasy and religious (Jupiter/Neptune) ideas, devoted audiences and fans. Scientology is often related with money issues. They show in the chart of the founder: Venus and Pluto are angular, reflecting the importance of the money axis.

MARRIAGES
L. Ron Hubbard's has a Mars-Uranus conjunction with Venus square Neptune. Those are two out of the four aspect combinations that make it hard to get or stay married for men. He married three times and had 7 children.

PS With Quaoar trine Ascendant and Venus it was rather easy for him to create new realities (also about himself).
