READING THE ASTROLOGY CHART OF DAVID BLAIN - part 2 -

READING THE CHART FROM THE START
Would we immediately have considered him to be a stuntman and magician? And if he lives long enough, will he be doing these kind of ‘magical performances’ all of his life? Probably not. So let's get back to where reading charts should start always as we cannot (IMO) make a difference between a person and the job that he does. Not when it is an unusual job like this. Characteristics sometimes lead you to the job that you have. So let us see how the elements, the combination of lights and Ascendant with the tightest aspects, the prominences (Astro ID) and specific midpoints, quintiles or yods lead us to the complete picture of David Blain.

Characteristics:
We see a self promoting active male (Aries Sun and Moon) who is basically expressive (airsigns and firesigns). He does not create things, doesn’t produce matter; no, he expresses or communicates. Still, his activities cannot be done without preparing, imagination and keeping it a secret how he does it (the twelfth house for discretion and vision). It is the kind of man who needs seclusion or being anonymous sometimes.
(And a fact is that he has himself buried alive from time to time)

Conclusion: an expressive, materialist/realistic, self promoter in the field of the anonymous/ amorphous.

Astro I.D.:
In his chart 'material' (business) is calling! He has got no placements in earth signs, so material security is 'conspicuous in absence'. Read the article on Astromarkt about this effect. Without basic security a person is eager to earn money and very ambitious.
(This ambition might drive him to take the risks that he takes).

The prominent Moon, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus make us think of an inventive person, and of opportunities in life. The Moon adds the need to do something (Mars) special (Uranus). All in all the Astro I.D. points at a person who is above all successful in enterprise (Mars and Jupiter), who has a call for making a difference (Uranus).

Conclusion: an ambitious person who needs to do something special.

MIDPOINTS
- Sun/Moon opposition a planet is what I call a 'midpoint yod' and the planet is the apex of the combination. Again we see Uranus is a prominent position, pointing at the ruler of the tenth equal house, calling! and final dispositor of the MC. This man just has to be special! But there is a certain danger: the combination with the sesquisquare with Neptune...The combination could indicate philanthropy, but it is also a sign for sudden weakness in case of taking the risks that he takes. This combination is dominating the chart of Klaas Bruinsma, the late Dutch top drugs dealer.

- Saturn, ruler Midheaven, square ASC /MC makes us aware of the ambitions of David Blain.

Conclusion: an ambitious, inventive and very special newsmaker!

Total conclusion: the birth chart of David Blain shows an ambitious and special person. We don't know much of his background, but certainly what he does is one of the ways to be very special.

ALTERNATIVE LOOK: THE ESOTHERIC SIDE OF THE CHART
Janduz called the 23rd degree of Capricorn (the degree of his MC) a degree of danger. The 7th of Aquarius (Mars in his chart is there) is a degree of vulnerability. The 8th of Aquarius (Jupiter in his chart) is a degree of inner independence (the book of Koppejan has the picture of a gladiator fighting a lion for this degree). Fifteen of Aries (his Sun) has the picture of a man who is fighting against the danger of drowning and that reminds me of one of his stunts. It is amazing (...) that 4 out of 10 of the positions has an element of danger and courage in it. I think it is amazing and worth pointing at it.

MISTAKEN HANGING OF COLIN CAMPBELL EADIE ROSS and the indications on the day of his birth with a birth chart without hour...

Colin Campbell Eadie Ross was born October 11, 1892, probably in or near Melbourne. He was hanged on April 24, 1922. And the suspicion that he was hanged for a crime that he did not commit has been confirmed by DNA-material. The hairs on his pillow were not those of the victim. And he already had an alibi. What made people misjudge him this way? With Sun opposition Jupiter judgements were not often in his favour, though it is also an aspect that indicates progress, together with the Sun trine Mars (he owned a bar at age 28!). Was it perhaps Saturn semisextile Uranus, introducing the theme of limited freedom? Or should it be the tightest aspect: Mercury opposition Jupiter. Did he simply had bad luck? It seems even the way he was executed was a torture.

His Astro I.D. shows Saturn rising before the Sun and Mars semi square Aries Point. Mars and Saturn are the most prominent planets on the day that he was born. It is a combination for working hard and often a combination of death. In particular when Pluto joins this combinaton, and Pluto does...Pluto is opposition the midpoint of Mars/Saturn, creating a midpoint Yod with the theme of unnatural death.

They arrested him on January 12, 1922. On that day Jupiter was conjunct his Sun, semi square Venus. And the transit Sun was square Jupiter. This highlights the Sun opposition Jupiter in his chart, but is still nog an explanation at all. Maybe he just did not see how it would end, on that day. Transit Mars inconjunct Pluto is another story...
On the day of his execution we see the transit Sun trine Venus (for rest in peace) and not a tiny piece of evidence for the longlasting painfull way to die. So let us look at the progressions. Transit Saturn semi square progressed Sun. And the other transits are rather wide or not related to personal planets.

Did it take that little to become the victim of a bad judgement? Just Mars and Saturn prominent and Pluto opposition Mars/Saturn? Of course we do not know his hour of birth and are therefore unaware of crucial placements and progressions or transits with Ascendant, MC or Moon. Still, it is amazing how this could happen and how the people who brougth him into this position could get away with it.

For those interested I sum up some of the related midpoint combinations.
Sun and Mercury conjunct Saturn/Uranus, Jupiter opposition and Venus semi square; Saturn and Uranus are repeating the combination in the 22.5 degree range. A lot of times the theme of limited freedom...
I already mentioned the midpoint yod Pluto opposition Mars/Saturn. And I like to point at that mysterious spot that I discovered to be so important in cases of violence, Vulcanus...It is an imaginary spot, once used by George Bode and therefore part of my (Dutch) computer program. Vulcanus is opposition Sun/Saturn and conjunct Mars/Pluto in this chart. And that, I think, is very telling, though also very odd.

BIRTH CHART OF ISRAEL: at the 60st birthday of the nation

The festivities to celebrate the 60st birth day of the nation of Israel have started. Here you see the birth chart of Israel, 14th May 1948 at 16:32 (the moment when 'Israel is born'). Astrodatabank uses 16:37. The difficulty with natal chart of nations is the time of birth. Was it when the meeting started, when the documents were signed, when all was completed? With ancient nations another difficulty rises. Was the nation born the first time, when it became a republic, when it turned into a kingdom again or when it was liberated after occupation?

PROSPERITY
In both charts (16:37 or 16:32) the Mooon is on top without major aspects. This calling crucial Moon is connected with Jupiter by a creative biquintile and Jupiter is oriental (the first planet or light rising before the Sun is the oriental planet, unless it is the very common Mercury or Venus, not prominent by crucial placement, being unaspected or by a link with Aries Point).
The nation, history, habits and environment are on top with an optimistic orientation. This nation 'goes for' growth, international contacts and succes. Israel is marked by a creative sense of progress. With 50% of the positions in fixed signs, this is the chart of a nation that is bound to go on.

DANGER
Watch Saturn, in between Mars and Pluto, in the 10th house. This could be read as 'disadvantages - Saturn - of political - Pluto - struggle - Mars'. Also there is the position of that strange spot, Vulcanus (violence), conjunct Northern Node (group) and square Pluto (threat). It is an intriguing message. Pluto square Northern Node is a sign for a nation or group that has to face the facts of life and death and has to deal with power, influence, politics...The nation was proclamed at a dangerous moment and Israel was born in a violent time. An important part of the world had been destroyed, damaged and turned upside down. That influence is the first problem that rises in this chart (as Vulcanus and the Northern Node are rising right before the Sun).

HISTORY, TRANSITS AND PROGRESSIES
Suez-crisis: 26th July 1956...transit Uranus tightly conjunct the MC in the 3rd degree of Leo.

Six day war: Jupiter conjunct the MC (won by Isreal)

Olympic team murdered: in the solar chart of 1972 the MC is in between Sun and Vulcanus (public violence).

Yom Kippur: Jupiter square Ascendant (crucial spot at the bottom of the chart)

Mordechai Vanunu and the atomic bomb revelation (October 1986): progressed Sun had changed sign a year before and was at the time semi square Saturn.

The astrological timing of these events seem to point at 16:32.

SOLAR
The 60th birthdaychart of Israel has Mars conjunct the IC, if 16:32 is the right moment for the natal chart. Mars is conjunct the MC of that natal chart, too. Let us hope Mars does not manifest himself as 'attacks, war and battle'...or that 16:32 is not the right moment at all. ..But: 16:37 or 16:32...it does not make a difference as far as the Moon is concerned. The natal Moon is conjunct the Solar Return IC for both times. And thát shows that a change in position is coming up.
