Transits of Venus

Did this happen to you, too? Transit Venus was on your Midheven and exactly on that day something nice happened. I, for example, read that the view over the river would be permanent, because they would not build the house that would block the view, anymore. Hurray! The second time the garden was done and it was so cute! The third time I heard that I HAD that new job. So, in view of the fourth time, expectations were high and nothing happened. Don't ask me why not!@#!! Let us just remember that in about 75% of the transits of Venus with Midheaven, something enjoyable happens.

With Venus on the horizon (Ascendant-Descendant) something will chear you up or make you look better than ever. Because of that, everybody is nice! Venus is on the Ascendant when babies are born, weddings are being celebrated and partners are being introduced for the first time. For some reason, Venus is also there when people die (and rest in peace), as a sort of a mercy. In every such case: you will be treated gently. And the negative side of Venus is decadence (flattery and being lazy). 

When Venus visits you, it is like if a nice and beautiful lady comes bye with presents and candy to make life look sweeter. If Jupiter joins her, you might expect even more (a party, for example). When times are hard, Venus is the smile, the comfort, the postcard and the compliment that helps you deal with life a little longer. 

Transit Venus was on the progressed Descendant of Larry King on the day of his final show, adding some pleasure to the moment. Transit of Venus are like the sugar in the cup of tea...it is a small thing, but it makes it taste better. 

When transit Venus is conjunct your natal Venus you are experiencing a 'Venus return'. The chart of that specific moment might tell you something about your desires and wishes in the coming period. I had my Venus return yesterday.

Groundhog Day and Moon in Aquarius and Aries

Today is Groundhog Day. No, it is NOT a sunsign! Aquarius is...and today the new Moon is in Aquarius. Bill Murray (starring role in Groundhog Day) has the Moon in Aquarius, too (and so have I). Maybe that is why Groundhog Day is one of my favorite movies.

I mentioned Groundhog Day before, in the Astropost: Couples with the same Moonsign. In that post you find ideas about what you share when your Moon is in the same sign as your friend or partner. Meanwhile I noticed that men with the same moonsign don't seem to get along as well as when the moonsigns are shared by two persons of the opposite sex. I have found a couples of politicians (a PM and a minister) who shared the Moon in Aries but didn't belong to the same party and couldn't work together. Maybe that is because of the nature of the assertive and driven Moon in Aries. The direct approach might just be too much in politics...

Supercentanarians' charts, like Besse Berry Cooper

Even though my grandmother used to say 'Old?!!! The devil is old', some people do get real old. People like Besse Berry Cooper, for example. She is a supercentanarian born August 26 1896. Let's see if the positions on her day of birth correspond with those of the very old persons in my study 'Astrology and Age' on Astropost. Well, they do. Just like the average old person she has more positions in Earth and Air signs than in Fire and Water. Of course there is more...Jupiter rises before her Sun (optimism) and with Saturn inconjunct Pluto she is a real 'die hard' without much balance (a bit too old). Sun inconjunct Ceres refers to the importance of genes and food. The square between Jupiter and Uranus might be important because of angularity, but how can we know without hour of birth?:) not... 

So here is the chart for her day of birth. The positions are valid for everyone born on that day. They didn't all become as old as Mrs. Besse Berry Cooper. That is because there are more factors than a chart.

Charts have their meaning for the character, but genes, circumstances, wars and other dangers are just as important as character is. Positions in a chart (the complete chart with hour of birth of the chart of the day of birth) should be interpreted with the situation and the genes in mind. What is a transit? And what is a solar transit?

It is February and February is the Month of the Transits on Astropost. This post is about the meaning of transits and what they are. Transits are the positions at a certain moment and your birth chart is a composition of 'transits' on the moment and place of your birth. You can see the daily positions on Astro.com, on the home page and on this blog on the right.

Transits are part of the astrological prognosis. The movement of a celestial object through the solar system and across the positions in our natal or progressed chart is an important part of the prognosis. Transits tell us about the atmosphere.

WEATHER

Transits give us a sort of a weather report. (Progressions are indicating the long term climate changes.) There are some things that you might like to know about transits: 

1. You can use the transits to verify your minute of birth, because the transits of the slower moving planets (like Uranus, Saturn, Pluto and Neptune) often come back a few times (they are 'retrograding', they seem to be moving backwards and forwards again). 

2. You can use the aspects between a transitting object and a natal position or a progressed position. For example, yesterday when a judge in Florida said that the health care bill is illegal, transit Saturn was exactly square the progressed midpoint Ascendant/Midheaven of Barack Obama  but transit Venus made an aspect,too (it wasn't ALL that bad, but still: it wasn't OK:). 3. Did you know that the date between the first and the second 'hit' of  a (retrograding) transit is often THE date of an event. Example: on April 1 transit Jupiter is on Midheaven and again on June 1. The successful moment will be on May 1. The complete period is a period of growth and progress.

SOLAR TRANSITS (Diurnal motion of the sun)
The Sun is moving 1 degree per day. The solar transits of the Sun and the aspects with your chart colour your day. How? See the article on Astromarkt! When you are celebrating your birthday, the Sun is conjunct your natal Sun (almost always). The meaning of this transit that connects the actual Sun and the natal Sun is:
