Uranus-Pluto riot (and Orcus inconjunct Saturn)

Last Friday there were riots in a sleepy village in the North of the Netherlands (see BBC news). A girl had invited all persons on Facebook to join her birthday party. She did this by accident. In the days before the 'party' officials tried to convince the 'invited' crowd not to come to Haren, but in vain. It was, apparently, time for a riot.

This destructive 'party' in a silent village was unexpected (Uranus), dangerous and violent (Pluto). Uranus was square Pluto. Here is the chart of the day of birth of the girl (the hour of birth is not hers!) who celebrated her birthday with the transits of the day of the riots.

Apart from the fact that Uranus-Pluto mirror dramatic change and sudden stress, there is also transit Orcus (symbol of promises) inconjunct Saturn to reflect the extraordinary nasty effect of 'broken promises'.

Putin and Surkov, the synastry and Orcus

Last week there was a very interesting development in Russia. Putin appointed Surkov in his government. Surkov is the founder of a radical pro Putin movement named Nashi (see Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nashi_(youth_movement). He is also the 

architect of Putin's policy to 'manage democracy' (see Wiki). The reason that I write about their chars is because of the synastry with Orcus and the similarity in their charts. And because of the strange timing of the appointment.

THE CHARTS AND THE MEN

It is clear that Surkov and Putin are strategic political comrades. What they share is the will to be in control, always (and what they don't want is criticism). 

Both have a Sun-Saturn conflict in the natal chart (Putin the conjunction, Surkov the inconjunction). You know that Sun-Saturn conflicts have a problem with criticism and want to be in control, always. The fact that they share this aspect means that they will join forces to keep the status quo as it is. They are managers and they manage to be in control.

Sun and Saturn shared makes you worry a lot if the aspect is hard. Maybe you do this, due to sharing nasty life experiences or feeling the same limitations and responsibilities. Both have Pluto rising before the Sun (and then Uranus) for strategy and policy first (and for a certain amount of radicalism). Now the synastry…and the starring role for Orcus.

They have Mars biquintile Mars, for cooperating in a creative way. They have Venus square Venus for a sort of a mutual sympathy, even though their sun signs don’t match (and neither do their moon signs*). Notice that Orcus of Putin is square the Sun of Surkov and vice versa. It says that vows, oaths and promises will be a key issue in their relationship. (There is more, like the Jupiter of Surkov inconjunct the Mars of Putin. That makes me think that the support of Surkov lead them to success but with a loss for Putin on the way). 

Why did Putin make him the First Deputy Chief (see the news: http://english.ruvr.ru/2011/12/27/62994237.html) now? Isn’t it strange that this happens now that Surkov’s progressed Sun is sextile Pluto (come back, survival) and trine Orcus? And that that is shortly after transit Neptune inconjunct Surkov’s Sun? Inconjunctions of Neptune show deceptions and rumors or bad press. Demonstrations in Moscow show that the strategy isn't perfect. Surkov's progressed Sun of Surkov is applying to a square with Neptune and in my eyes, that is a sign for a bad press within 1,5 year. Again...(but maybe his personal chart with hour of birth has a better prospect for him...).

Here is the C-rated (! Take care, that means that the hour of birth might not be correct) chart of Putin. The transits are the positions on the day of birth of Surkov.

*) Which means that they are not two of a kind and that they shouldn’t get married but as there is also no conflict between the suns there won’t be a question about ‘who is the boss’.

Eddie Chapman and the chart of his day of birth

Just enjoyed BBC's story of Scorpio Eddie Chapman (aka Agent ZigZag), a criminal and a double agent in WW2. His activities saved many lives in London. Read the story on BBC:

He was a spy and he also was a womanizer who didn't (manage to) keep his promise to a Norwegian mistress who spent months in jail because after the war the Norwegian judges didn't believe that the German officer in her house was in fact a British spy. And he didn't come back to tell them...

1. Broaken oaths...
He was born on November 16, 1914 with Sun inconjunct Orcus, symbol of broaken oaths.

2. The international
Do you mind if I like the fact that his Jupiter didn't make major aspects? That made him an international at any possible level!
It wouldn't surprise me if the midpoint Sun/Moon was square his 'calling' Jupiter. He escaped many times and lived in France, Norway and on a Canary island (Spain). He also was fond of fast cars. His Venus and Mars in Sagittarius might have attracted him to travelling.

3. Courage
He was an expert in explosives and didn't seem to have a problem with stress or tension much. Moon in Scorpio is courageous...

There are a number of necessary 'ingredients' to be a double agent, convincing and not afraid to even get back to occupied Europe. With his character and ability to convince (or cheat) he was fit for the job at that moment in history.

The bankruptcy in the chart of Patricia Kluge-Rose

Patricia Kluge divorced John Kluge 20 years ago and had a lot of money, but now she filed for bankruptcy. Millions (and some say billions) have gone...What does the chart say? 

I won’t start with the transits of Pholus and Saturn (nasty turning point). I start where it starts: with the natal chart.  And with her marriage with John Kluge. That is when her lifestyle changed in a dramatic way. Here is her chart with the transits for now:

LIFE AND MARRIAGE

Her name was Patricia Rose and she was a pauper before she was a belly dancer and porn star. Then she met a rich man who fell in love with her. Her 'Midas' was John Kluge. He was married and she had a relationship, too, when they met. 

I like to point at Pholus in the 7^th house of marriage. Her marriage (7^th house) was a turning point in life (Pholus)! John Kluge turned her life into gold in a fairy tale marriage - in the eyes of the public - (Venus/Neptune square Jupiter). And when he died, the economic crises was repainting her life again…Both times Pluto was there! Continue for the synastrie with John Kluge, the repeating pattern of Pluto and Orcus and the list of indications for bad financial times.

Orcus, Saturn and Obama

This blog is about Saturn afflicting Orcus or vice versa. Example: Barack Obama.

President Obama is running for president again. Sometimes the polls are good (during transit Jupiter inconjunct progressed Sun, for example), but there is also a negative tendency reflected by the quincunx of Neptune with his progressed Sun. That transit comes back more often than Jupiter does and will still be active in November 2012, election time. There is little balance in the positive and negative view of the to be expected results. And there is more...Right now Saturn is square his progressed and natal Orcus. The final 'hit' is July 7. It doesn't 'sound' like a happy transit and this transit is important for Obama for a few reasons:

1. In the natal chart of Obama Saturn happens to be quindecile (that is a 165d aspect) Orcus...and
2. his Orcus is conjunct the midpoint Ascendant/Midheaven
3. Saturn is elevated in his progressed chart
4. He has a responsible (Saturnal) position

This all makes Saturn-Orcus quite important. And that means that the actual transit will resonate louder than in the charts of other people, who were not born with a Saturn-Orcus minor or major aspect.

When President Obama was elected, he promised change (yes, we can). More than 3 years later the people think that things changed the bad way and they blame him. Over 40% think that the economy was better off before he became the President of the USA. That is heavy and Saturn is the symbol of what is heavy.

Orcus, a transneptunian, is the mythical symbol of broken promises, contracts and oaths. Saturn is the symbol of blame, criticism, endings, restrictions and responsibilities. A square is a problem to overcome. A quindecile is the symbol of an obsession or strong focus. I think that Saturn-Orcus is reflecting being blamed or being held responsible for an oath or broken promise.

Transit Orcus: contracts and oaths?

Orcus motion

When transit Orcus (now in in the 2nd degree of Virgo) is conjunct, square or opposition in your Midheaven, you might have to deal with broken promises in your career or be publicly punished as a result of breaking your word. That is because Orcus is the ancient punisher of broken oaths. It sounds creepy. In modern times, I think, contracts are part of the words that are related to the astrological symbol Orcus, too. I also noticed Orcus conjunct someone's Sun and later MC in the years of a change of location (while the new house was being built). Should that be because of contracts with builders, mortgages and deals, I wonder? 

 In relationships the promise to be true forever and ever is a difficult oath to keep and when oath (or broken oaths) are part of the deal, Orcus often holds a prominent position in the (progressed) chart.  

There is still little known about the resonation of Orcus. I have written about Orcus before (see links). And here you see the ephemeris of Orcus (Astro.com) http://www.astro.com/swisseph/2004dw.htm At the moment Orcus is at 1.1 degree Virgo, and that is about opposition Neptune in Pisces. The next period seems to be a perfect to observe what happens in the lives of people with their Sun, Midheaven, Ascendant or prominent planet in the 2nd degree of Virgo.

Californian Earth Quake of January 9, 1857

This is the chart of the earthquake of January 9, 1857 in LA (Fort Tejon). Mars is exactly square Midheaven, just after Moon conjunct Saturn. Neptune is exactly square Orcus. There was a lot of damage, but only 2 fatalities, because most of the area was inhabited at the time. Many rivers were 'thrown out of their beds'. !I had to use the LA latitude/longitude so there may be a slight difference in the degrees of Ascendant and Midheaven!

George Michael gets eight weeks

Wham! George Michael gets eight weeks in jail. See the NY Post…link...And that is news now that

a.    the transit midpoint of Saturn/Uranus is square his natal Sun (mirroring limited freedom),

b.    transit Saturn inconjunct his progressed Midheaven (reflecting a bad position including lost of respect) and

c.    transit Pholus square his natal Mars (showing the risk of a turning point in a fight or conflict).

d.    Also transit Neptune is inconjunct the midpoint Sun/Moon (disappointment and sadness or isolation) and

e.    progressed Sun/Moon is conjunct Orcus (an oath or broken promises in the spotlights).

f.     Very important is the transit of Pluto opposition his natal Sun: problem with self esteem and authorities…having to start all over again.

g.  Progressed Moon conjunct Progressed Midheaven: another indication of change and a condition to remember.

In times of trouble your transits are not alone…It takes at least 3 to tango. We see two inconjunction at the time and inconjunctions are often showing lack of balance or losts. Pluto is for challenges or stress. These threee observations are sufficient to show getting out of balance because of stress. It must be hard times for George Michael. And his friends expected these troubles. His friends were worried before (in December 2009). That is when I wrote (see http://astropost.blogspot.com/2009/12/chart-of-george-michael-worries.html) :

MORE SATURN AND PLUTO

Transit Saturn is moving to the lowest spot in the chart (and it will only get better when Saturn - status - is going up). Transit Pluto is opposition his natal Sun; this rises the question 'do I have to change my lifestyle?'. Transit Saturn is square the natal Sun and will come back a few times to perfect the square. The combination of Saturn and Pluto is the combination of the 'die hard' and the disadvantages of power, politics, influence and money. With Saturn and Pluto on his tail, George Michael may find it even more difficult to control life than he uses to, but the Saturn and Pluto combination also is reflecting rigidity and refusal. Those aren't easy transits...

Also, with progressed AC/MC in hard aspect with natal Neptune we can see how addiction (and arts!) gets a growing and crucial influence. The progressed Ascendant conjunct Moon highlights the situation (and maybe introduces someone who cares)

Divorce, Uranus and Tiger Woods

Natal, transits and progressions of Tiger Woods today

Transit Uranus is semi square his progressed (SA) Sun, now that Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren agreed to divorce (see the Telegraph). The news about Tiger and his marriage started with Uranus, when he had transit Uranus on the Descendant,  and ends with it...Tiger Woods has a minor aspect between Venus and Uranus: a half semi square (22.5 degrees.  Venus-Uranus. Venus-Uranus aspects are often mirroring affairs.
Minor aspects likea half semi square are not as 'obvious' as major aspects are.

Orcus, John Edwards and Andrew Young

Orcus, the symbol of the punishment for broken oaths, is what binds the charts of Andrew Young and John Edwards.  Or, do we see Orcus as another exponent of Plutonic reflections? Their names will be linked by a strategy to cover up the birth of a baby that stood in the way to power. 

Andrew Young, assistant of John Edwards, first covered up the affair of John with Rielle Hunter. And later he acted as if he was the father of Rielle Hunter’s baby (born February 27, 2008).

Recently he showed up in Oprah Winfrey’s show with his wife, telling about his book ‘ The politician’.  They are now making a movie...

Andrew Young is a very serious person (Saturn rising before the Sun) and dedicated (Sun square Vesta). Perhaps that explains what he did, before he started publishing about the affair. That Saturn, and of course the quindecile between Sun and Pluto (obsessive fanatism, problemous self esteem, wanting to win at any price). It was important to him that Edwards would be the next president of the USA, as he was part of Edward’s team.
