Neptune and Max Gradel

Max Gradel, Bournemouth  football player, was injured and can't play for six months. Now his Ivorian family says that this happened because they bewitched him. 

If he believes that, their influence will increase, of course. Neptune is the symbol of all things that you are not certain of and can't lay your hand on: fantasy, beliefs, dreams, heaven, romance, and mysterious things like witchcraft. Both aspects refer to a negative press, too. His family complaints about him and would like to get financial help. Now they told him that they can hurt him at distance and that they are to be blamed for 6 months of misery. Wonder if that makes him send presents...:)

Viktor Orbán (Hungary) and transits of Saturn

Astrothème provides this chart of Hungary's PM Viktor Orbán, PM of Hungary, for 14.00 hours on May 31, 1963. Here you his chart with transits and progressions. They are not easy.

1. The progressed Midheaven conjunct natal Uranus nicely mirrors that there is controversy around him. People are fore or against him. And there is a hectic, unexpected situation (Uranus!)

2. With Transit Saturn trine Progressed Sun there is also stability now, continuity and self respect. This won't last for long. Saturn moves, like the refugees do. 

3. Transit Saturn will be square his MC soon, if Astrothème is right about his hour of birth.  Transits of Saturn are hard.

Doesn't this show his present position? 

Some consider him as the goal-keeper of Europe. Others see him as a rebel against Europe, modern democracy and Merkel's policy. They picture him like a modern Hitler and then his fans come to show their support. But in these hectic times one thing is certain: there is criticism. And that is so Saturn, just like blockades, borders and restrictions. The combination of Uranus and Saturn issues the theme of breaking free (or not).

PS MIGRATION

Neptune was in Pisces in the days of the Migration (4th century) and in days of revolution. Uranus-Pluto stresses nations and creates a lot of unrest throughout the ages. Two important factors contributed to the present situation and it will not end untill Saturn is conjunct Uranus (a new order). The chart of Europe and Hungary will show what's next.

New Moon, Sun-Neptune and Maddy McCann again

Yesterday it was New Moon in Sagittarius. This week (on Thursday) the Sun will be square Neptune. 

The New Moon in Sagittarius is conjunct the Sun of Nicolas Maduro, President of Venezuela. This promises hope for a new start. The solar return of Yulia Timosjenko however has an exact Sun square Neptune, showing delusion. The Moon in Sagittarius conjunct Sun wants us to always look on the bright side, even if you have to see things upside down, and that is where I will start.

We all have our own charts and ways to deal with the transits and cycle of the Moon. Those born with New Moon take good care of themselves and those who are in their heart. New Moons in Sagittarius have the Sun/Moon midpoint in Sagittarius, too. They will want and need space and hope for 'better' somehow, just like we all do these days.  The New Moon in Sagittarius can be the perfect moment to start making plans for the future. It is also the moment of taking care of your ischias or hip bones and not to overdo things, even though your enthusiasm wants you to. Sagittarius and Jupiter are symbols of 'giving advice' and not everyone wants to take it. So I spare you the details and do as Moon in Sagittarius does: pretend that all will be well in the end. The Sun/Moon Sagittarius is full of hope, but...

For some odd reason the negotiations with Iran take place in Sun-Neptune square periods, as if some astrologer is forcing the world leaders to chose the worse moment possible for a clear view, open eye and positive results. In November 2013 I wrote about the 'Sun-Neptune agreement' on my Dutch site Astromarkt (see: http://www.astromarkt.nl/zon-neptunus-akkoord.html ) in a negative way a (like I should, taking Neptune's affliction in mind:). Again, even though the Moon in Sagittarius wants to see the bright sides, I have my doubts. But, of course, there is also a bright side on transits of Neptune, just follow the link.

Second chance posts part 4: Mercury-Neptune and Friedmans

Looking back at earlier posts I noticed that some of them just haven't been noticed, yet. Today these posts get another chance. Of course, not without editing them. 

Today's second chance post is about 'Capturing the Friedmans', a documentary about a peculiar child's abuse case.

CAPTURING THE FRIEDMANS

Capturing the Friedmans, is a documentary that I saw yesterday. Arnold Friedman (born 20th March 1931, see the documentary about his birthday and the stone on his grave) and his son Jesse were convicted in a very peculiair childs'abuse case. 

Why peculiar? 

Hypnotism by psychologers and a very influencing method of interrogation by the police contributed to a pandemonium of tales about sex orgies after the day in 1984 that the police found child pornography in the house of Arnold Friedman. 

His son Jesse was suppposed to be assisting his father in the evil. 

But:

There was no fysical evidence at all and some of the statements were clearly false!  Still, they were convicted after pleading guilty in order to prevent a sentence of life in prison. Later, Arnold Friedman killed himself in jail. He presumably killed himself, so that his son would get a sum of money to start all over again when he got out of jail and the best part of his life was over). 

The astrology

a. the transits and progressions

- In 1995, the year of the death of Arnold Friedman, Solar Arc Mars opposed his natal Sun. It is the symbol of injury.
- In 1984, transit Neptune squared Arnold Friedman's natal Sun. That is an indication of being seen in a negative light.  As soon as people turn into suspects, Neptune is there. Neptune is also there when there are mysteries, when the media is involved (too much) and when certain things remain unsolved. Neptune is the symbol of mist.

'Capturing the Friedmans' was a very interesting movie that leaves you wondering. It might be caused by the ambiguous attitude of the film maker, who still refuses to tell the audience whether he considers the Friedmans' guilty or not. But anyway...thanks to that movie I have a DOB.

b. natal chart

Arnold Friedman's chart has a prominent Sun in the final degree of Pisces, close to Zero Aries and trine Mars. Saturn is the 'oriental planet' (the first outer planet rising before the Sun). This Saturn is in Capricorn and afflicted. He was a conformist in the first place (a tiny man with hugh glasses). He was a valued teacher before 1984. 

Now look at the most narrow aspect in his chart. That is Mercury inconjunct Neptune. This immediately reminded me of the chart of Patrick Dils (see post on that case) with the same aspect. Mercury inconjunct Neptune is very confusing...

Jess, the son of Arnold, is free (after 16 years. In 2013 he was again found 100% guilty by the Nassau Country District Attorney (see http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/jesse-friedman-100-guilty-child-abuse-article-1.1380786 )

CONCLUSION
One the West Memphis three had Mercury exactly conjunct Neptune (see: http://astropost.blogspot.com/2011/08/suspicious-aspects-re-west-memphis.html )

This post is one of a series of posts about the bright sides of nasty aspects (but only when you look at it like if you were the devil's advocate). Of course, I don’t want to laugh at heavy transits. I wouldn’t dare! Too many of them have passed in my life and most of them were rather unpleasant! It is no wonder that many of us fear the transits  and progressions of Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. It is, because they  use to mirror periods of set backs, shocks, confusion and stress. But there ARE always bright sides, tiny little insignificant sparks of light, fallen stars that may hit you when you are down. I always use music in such periods. So I included a suggested YouTube video, in every post.

Use it for transits and progressions, just to consider the bright sides. What have you learned, gained or experienced in those nasty periods?

Sun-Neptune

At least your closet is open now and all nightmares came out while you were on the run like in some kind of a B-movie, looking over your shoulder and wondering where to go, ending up in the witches’ house. Death of Sunanda Pushkar

On special request I had a look at the chart of Sunanda Pushkar-Tharoor, the Indian wife of a minister who was found death after accusing her husband to have an affair. Today, her son, Shiv Menon, stated that he blamed her death on an the combination of media stress, tension and wrongly mixed medications. That is in line with the transit and progressions. She was born on January 1, 1962. Everyone born on or around January 1 is subject to the intense tension of the Uranus-Pluto square. Moreover: her progressed Sun was in the 4th degree of Pisces. Transit Neptune (the symbol of confusion, media, medication, alcohol, isolation and drugs) was conjunct her Progressed Sun.

A chart doesn't give all the answer, certainly not without hour of birth. But the description of the situation as given by her son seems to be adequate. Accidental or suicide or murder? The chart doesn't say more than: a period of intense tension (Uranus-Pluto) and being in a confused state (Neptune-Sun).

Sunanda Pushkar's natal chart had
-  Venus conjunct Mars, rising before the Sun. This signals a passionate woman.
-  Mercury without major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. This 'calling' Mercury tells us about the importance of communications and reason.
The fiery lady is no more and it is still unclear (very Neptune!) what exactly happened in her final hours.

This tweet by Jean Funken (@Astrostudies) triggered my interest in the chart of the official starting moment of the Syria Peace Conference in Montreux today. What do I think? I think about Neptune. Neptune is on the Ascendant. Neptune is also exactly opposition the natal Mercury of Assad. I remember my transit Mercury opposition Neptune as a bad day for communications and negotiations. Transits of Neptune are always confusing. This is my take on T Neptune-Mercury:

• Transit Neptune with Mercury confuses the mind and tends to miscommunications.

In the eve of the conference thousands of pictures of starved, tortured and killed young men appeared, blaming Assad. Mercury-Neptune is one of the 'suspicious aspects' I wrote about earlier (http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2011/08/suspicious-aspects-re-west-memphis.html ) This aspect adds to unclarity and negotiations may end in a foggy way. Transit Saturn, Transit Neptune, NSA and Obama

Here is the chart (natal, transits and progressions) of Barack Obama and what do you see?

Transit Saturn is square his Sun. 
Transit Saturn is in the ninth house (the house of 'abroad')
Saturn rules the 12th and is in the 12th house of secrets and the media
Sun rules the 7th house of 'them' and allies.

Perfect description of the present situation (given the circumstances). Allies like Angela Merkel are angry about the NSA spying on them. Obama said that he didn't know. Now the papers say he did ( http://www.dw.de/new-media-report-suggests-obama-knew-nsa-spied-on-merkel/a-17185662 ) Transit Saturn square Sun makes you face mistakes.

Transit Neptune inconjunct Mercury adds confusion.
Transit Neptune inconjunct his Mercury is a bad sign if you want others to believe what you say. Mistaken words, unclear statements, gossip and hiding facts work against you when Neptune comes along. Neptune is the symbol of mist, fantasy and all that is hidden and fake. It seems that those who work in or with the NSA can't stop leaking. And leakage is Neptune, the in conjunction is lack of balance and possible loss, Mercury is about KNOWING.

Is that enough to illustrate the situation? There is more if you want it. The progressed Moon conjunct cusp III, entering the 3rd house of communications, on her way to a quindecile with transit Saturn, promises worries ahead and a focus on communications. There is a lot of repairing to do in the next days and weeks.

It would be very bad if the progressed Sun didn't trine the Moon and if progressed Venus didn't square natal Moon. The moon is the symbol of popularity and Venus-Moon represents the need to be loved and all that eases feelings. Germany and the USA aren't enemies.

The NSA-revelations in a period of Saturn-Sun and Mercury-Neptune are difficult to deal with. Barack Obama is still an ally and a friend. Maybe this bad moment has a feel-good-ending, anyway? But not after a dramatic change in Angela's opinions, I guess, because transit Pluto and transit Uranus (the combination of revolutionary change, revolt and nervous stress) are making hard aspects with her Mercury.

Barack Obama and Angela Merkel ( Hamburg, 17 juli 1954 ) share an aspect (more on sharing...). Both have a difficult connection between Sun and Neptune. Being an idol and having to deal with the media isn't always easy and they both know it. They also share idealism or beliefs. Nevertheless: sharing Sun-Neptune doesn't mean everlasting sympathy. Both have a square between Sun and Neptune. This hard aspect, in the end, mirrors disappointment.

Sun and Neptune shared in aspect gives you shared ideals, dreams and faith or even a shared idol! But with hard aspects you might share the same disillusions as well or this relationship is disillusive. Cooperating could work out best in an asylum or in a non-profit organization where they can help others, and each other.

Another possible combination is between enemies and with Sun in hard aspect with Neptune shared. Ideology stand between you as was the case with the murderer of director Theo van Gogh who shared Sun square Neptune.

Neptune and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann

There is a lot of media (Neptune) attention (Sun) for the case of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann right now. It is still a mystery what happened to the little girl. Mysteries are often accompanied by transits and progressions of Neptune. In this case there is a lot of Neptune and that is confusing. Neptune is the god of the sea who loved to make it uneasy by means of storm and mist! In the mist, spotlights may be blinding. What happened to Madeleine? It must me horrific for the family not to know the answer and never to be able to end the search. Let us hope that the attention for the case provides an answer.


You know Neptune? Neptune is the symbol of all that disappears, is fake, immaterial, fantasy, mystery, dream, beliefs and media/mediums. It means that whenever Neptune appears, there is a mist. It is like watching a movie or television: you sort of imagine yourself to be part of the play, but you are not. With Neptune, you can never be sure. Rumors: it is one of the words in the astrological vocabulary under the N of Neptune! So is gossip and bad press. Is there anything Nice about Neptune? Not much, except for romance, sweet dreams and illusions or visions that help create art. That is why Neptune is part of the astrological pattern of artistic talent that I found in so many charts of artists (see Art&Astrology). Neptune is not fit for daily life and sometimes unreal. What you see may not be what you get. When dreams turn into nightmares, a tricky Neptune may be confusing those around you and... you.

Neptune is abundantly present in the charts of Maddie and her father. Her mother's day of birth is not known. Perhaps there is a lot of Neptune in her chart, natal, transits and progressions, too. As you may see in the links, there are more of such cases with Neptune and/or intense synastry. The lives of parents, family members, partners, friends and those involved in the case are of course changed or influenced by such a case and media circus. This shows in the related aspects.

WHY SO MANY NEPTUNE?
There are a number of transits and progressions that relate people in a case (see the link and the quotes). When Madeleine McCann vanished with transit Neptune square Sun, her father had transit Neptune inconjunct Progressed Sun. Her progressed Sun was opposition his Neptune.

Unclarity and suspicion is part of the deal when Neptune is around. HER disappearance (Neptune) turned him into a suspect (Neptune). Right now there is media(Neptune)attention(Sun) for Madeleine again. Progressed Ascendant of Gerry McCann is square Neptune. There is a negative tendency coming with Neptune and sometimes Neptune means a bad press.

Neptune: you can see it coming. But what is it? And when will we know?

No, he didn't, even though he had rather suspicious aspects/synastry aspects (well, he WAS a suspect).  They said that DNA of Madeleine was found in his house (which doesn't seem to be true after  all). When he confessed a murder that he never committed, a man had transit Neptune square Sun (being seen in a negative light). In the natal chart Mercury is in conflict with Neptune.
