Chart of Dr. Death (or alive): Aribert Heim

In July 2008 I wrote about Aribert Heim (Dr. Death) when people thought he was still alive. Now they think that he died 20 years ago. Right now Jupiter is trine his progressed Sun and conjunct progressed Uranus. It is the combination of relief and positive change. Well, he would have been very very old if he still lived. He was born in 1914 and would be 94.

I wrote before:

The persons born on his birth day have a focus on issues of money, power, politics and influence (Pluto), are strongly committed to a cause or emotionally involved (water signs) and can easily use or abuse power and strength (Mars sextile Pluto). They are also likely to mix up facts and fantasy (Mercury-Neptune) and tend to be impulsive in their relationships or have a certain artistic ambition (Venus-Uranus). It depends on what planet is crucial in their chart. The symbol of that planet will be crucial in their life. As mr. Heim is called mr. Death, it might be a crucial Pluto. Pluto in his chart is close to Sun and Saturn. The combination of Sun, Saturn and Pluto can make a man unscrupulous, sometimes forces you to disregard signals of danger, and confronts you with the disadvantages of money, politics and power. On the former post you find more about the progessions at vital moments in his life. Of course, circumstances, genes, opportunities and history influenced his cruel career, but the chart reveals at least the possibility of being unscrupulous. Without hour of birth the angular placements are not known. And little can be said about the question if Aribert Heim is alive or death.

Federer-Nadal = Midheaven- Saturn ('calling')...Can Federer ever win this, I wonder? It is like the prominent (not aspected) Saturn of Nadal is blocking the goals of Federer. Saturn is the symbol of limitations.

Chart of Barack Obama today and tomorrow

There are a lot of transits inconjunct the natal and progressed chart of Barack Obama these days. Difficult progressions (and solar arcs) are ahead. It will be hard months to deal with. The times of progressed Sun trine progressed Jupiter are over now. Transit Jupiter is no longer trine his progressed Sun. The party is over. How about the next months? It won't be easy...Transits and progressions of Saturn, Mars and Pluto are coming up.

TODAY: INCONJUNCTIONS and MISTAKES
Fact: yesterday Barack Obama admitted that he blew it when he supported mr. Dasch, who withdrew his nomination for 'health secretary following reports about not having paid $140,000 in taxes. A few hours before that Nancy Killefer (supposed to be first chief performance officer) had to step down because she failed to pay payroll taxes on a member of her household staff.

This happens at a moment of inconjunctions:
- transit Pluto inconjunct Obama's Mercury and
- transit Jupiter inconjunct Obama's Pluto, with
- transit Neptune's last day inconjunct his Mars and
- transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Moon (this inconjunction has not perfeced, yet...)

A lot of inconjunctions in transit refer to losts and disproportional events or results. Remember the 4 inconjunctions with the chart of Tilmant (ING) who had to step back?
The combination shows a successul communication policy following a mistake but... there is also a lot of concern. Inconjunctions refer to the 'but's' in life.

TOMORROW: MORE DIFFICULTIES
Before 3 March there will be a perfect square of Mars and Saturn in his progressed chart and by the end of March his progressed Midheaven will be inconjunct his natal Sun(see disclaimer). I hope that these astrological conditions don't refer to his physical status. Mars and Saturn reflect hard measures to be taken and Mars-Saturn often reduces life's energy.

Also:
- transit Saturn is inconjunct his progressed ASCendant with
- transit Mars square MC and
- transit Pluto inconjunct Moon
and these transits will be perfect mid March.
There again is the combination of Mars-Saturn-Pluto, also related to the progressed Sun/Moon midpoint (scroll down).

Another thing is the growing contact of Mars, Saturn and Pluto in his progessed chart (midpoint combinations getting stronger). And the progressed Sun is changing sign and so his life or lifestyle is transforming; Barack Obama is in a period of change. He has not get used to being the worlds number one,yet.

Difficult prospects... But who said it would be nice and easy? This is from my post of December 2008:

"Less fortunate is the development that the combination of Mars-Saturn-Pluto is getting tighter in progression. Mars square Saturn (ruler 10) and semi square Pluto is indicating (and Saturn sesquisquare Pluto) at least: increasing political battles or difficulties, and possibly a growing danger related to his position. At the moment Mars is exactly square Saturn ruler 10 in his progressed chart. He made it (ruler 1 square ruler 10) by hard work (Mars-Saturn) and right now Pluto (money issues!) are frustrating his goals. Saturn in conflict with Pluto requires political 'die hards', because this aspect will confront a person with the disadvantages of politics. So I don't think that Obama will have an easy period ahead, though fortunately the amount of support and goodwill that he created will help him to succeed. This help is astrologically coming from Jupiter (transit Jupiter trine progressed Sun#). He might need it.

MARS-SATURN-PLUTO
There is no Mars-Saturn-Pluto midpoint combination in the natal chart of Obama. But the repeating Mars-Saturn-Pluto combination in transits and progressions of Obama asks for explanation.
Mars is the symbol of actionk, work, drive and energy; sometimes 'hit','strike' or 'hurt'. Saturn is the symbol of ambition and restriction, duty and responsibility; sometimes fear and failure. Pluto symbolizes force, power, intensity and challenge; sometimes defence and prosecution. When those 3 come together you get 'die hard power', intense limitations of energy, the drive to defeat enemies and the combination of death (Mars-Saturn: end of energy) and the use or abuse of force (Mars-Pluto). In the chart of a politician (Pluto) the combination might refer to hard and sometimes lost political battles, until you become a professional and official (Saturn) user/abuser (Mars) of power, strategy and money (Pluto).

In my book Astro Trio I say it like this (translated):
'Exhaustion, working too hard, could have to deal with a violent situation or use violence . Wants to win in spite of resistance.
Unfortunately this combinations is often seen in cases of unnatural cause of death (active, as a victime or a witness) like for example in the charts of mrs. Mahaty (victim of Homolka), John F. Kennedy, Yoko Ono and murderers Idi Amin, David Berkowitz, Volkert van der Graaf and Paul Bernardo'.

It is not surprising that a new president of the United States faces challenges and is forced to take hard measures and to work hard, especially in the first 100 days when he has to show his voters that they made the right decission. And clearly, being a president is a dangerous job. That is why there is so much protection. To have to be defended (Mars-Pluto) because of your status (Saturn) is maybe one of the other possible ways to reflect Mars with Saturn and Pluto.

Pope Benedict's progressed Sun conjunct Pluto

My latest post was about Pluto's influence and now I see that Pope Benedict has progressed Sun conjunct Pluto, exactly on February 4. Queen Juliana had it when she was confronted with politicians who disagreed with her ideas and ended up in a crisis. You can read that post here...

Sun-Pluto is not the only problem to be dealt with. Now what is in the news?

Pope Benedict is appointing bishops and assistant-bishops who are very controversial and politically incorrect, these days. He appointed a controversial bishop who keeps believing that the Holocaust was not that bad at all. He also appointed an assistent-bishop who believes that Harry Potter is a danger.

Of course, let us not forget that the Pope has Saturn elevated. He is conservative above all.*)

SATURN-URANUS
There are even more indications for less pleasant news in the press. Uranus recently was conjunct his Ascendant and Saturn was too. Saturn is in his 9th Placidus house, moving towards Midheaven and linea recta to the progressed IC. It is the picture of (resisting against) limited freedom.

JUPITER-URANUS
In his natal chart Uranus is oriental (rising before the Sun) and Jupiter is angular. He is rather independent and 'special' (maybe even getting very old) because of Uranus, but also controversial. Jupiter's place tells us that he is an international (yes, a German in Italy) and that he may look wise. Now notice that transit Uranus is conjunct his prominent Jupiter. And Jupiter and Uranus are on top of his progressed chart! In the solar return (birthday chart) of 2008 Uranus is oriental and Jupiter is square Ascendant. Three times Jupiter-Uranus and Jupiter and Uranus prominent in the natal chart...That tells us that there is an important sort of a relief and a renewal of confidence. And yes, who can stop him from appointing controversial bishops? Nobody.

PROGRESSED SUN-PLUTO
Nobody is able to stop his appointments. Except politics, perhaps. And that is why we see progressed Sun conjunct Pluto for the challenge and the enemies and for the resistance that will grow, in spite of nice Jupiter's transits. A resistance that will produce stress, for example. Sun-Pluto progressions make life and life style more intense than ever. I wonder if there are health problems, especially because in his next solar return Pluto will be conjunct the Ascendant and Venus (ruler 8th equal house) in the natal chart is square ASCendant, at the bottom of the solar return chart. It might be a difficult new year.

UPCOMING SATURN
Perhaps he is in a rush to appoint conservatives, because he feels the pressure of time, more than he did before, with the upcoming transits of Saturn. With Sun conjunct Pluto there is always a danger of asking too many of the body or ... of the others. Life with difficulties and challenges, that is what Sun-Pluto is about. And sometimes there are too many problems at the time. It seems like there are in the Roman Catholic Church today.

*) Most elevated is dwarf planet Ceres (the mother figure, symbol of nurture and nature - origins- , seed, heirdoom, genes, roots and all that is basic). Ceres might of course also refer to Maria, mother of God in the Catholic religion.

Pluto's crucial influence in the Hofmans affair

With the Hofmans' affair people mean the crisis in the Dutch royal family supposedly caused by a faith healer and related to the bad state of marriage of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard in 1956. This post presents an astrological take on that affair and shows you the important role of Pluto in this.

PLUTO
Pluto had the starring role in the Greet Hofmans' affair. Pluto symbolizes power, influence, policy, money and sexuality. Pluto's effect is always intensifying life. Pluto is important in the chart when there is a come back, a crisis, a discovery, and when you deal with the consequences of change.



PLUTO PROMINENT
Pluto is very prominent in the charts of Juliana, Bernhard and Beatrix and became even more important in 1955/1956.
In the natal chart of Queen Juliana, Pluto was ‘calling’ (without Ptolemaic aspects) and angular (on the Ascendant). Pluto is also 'calling' in the chart of the present Queen of the Netherlands, Beatrix, daughter of Juliana. Pluto rises before the Sun in the radix of Prince Bernhard, husband of Queen Juliana and father of Queen Beatrix. Pluto was thus the planet of his orientation.

In 1955/1956 the prominent Pluto's of Juliana and Beatrix were being activated by an aspect with the progressive Sun. Juliana already had Sun semi square Pluto in her natal chart (so the effect was stronger in progression, when she had Sun conjunct Pluto). Beatrix had progressed Sun inconjunct Pluto, an indication for a dramatic period in her life.

THE PLAYERS

JULIANA

Pluto has a key role in the chart of Juliana. So has Mars. Her chart marks a power struggle.She also has Saturn rising before the Sun for responsibilities and duty first.

GREET HOFMANS
Greet Hofmans was a person who was considered to be a special one, an early outsider with a positive view. When she met the members of the royal family she had a fortunate progressed aspect: progressed Moon trine Jupiter. She also had transit Pluto conjunct progressed Midheaven for a break through. But...Pluto of Juliana was conjunct the Midheaven of Hofmans.

Interesting besides: in the year that Greet Hofmans became a controversial person, Mercury and Uranus were on the angles of her progressed chart. When she was born she had Uranus 'calling' and Moon, too. The Moon-Uranus prominence reflects the possibility of being considered 'seer' (having insight in upcoming events).
With Sun and Jupiter on either side of the Midheaven she was likely to make her position better than it was at birth.

She shared Sun square Mars with Juliana (both women have Sun square Mars) and was not married. Having a mutual enemy is one of the ways sharing*) Sun-Mars 'works'. The mutual enemy was of course: Bernhard. Also watch Moon inconjunct Mercury for 'simple daily lies' to try to say what is been expected.

BERNHARD

Prince Bernhard was a man who could tell 'strong stories' and he was first of all a strategic 'check player'. Money, influence and power were of importance to him. Pluto was the planet of his orientation. In 1956 with transit Saturn inconjunct this Mercury-Pluto he told the strong story of a second ‘Rasputin’, a woman that he himself had introduced to Juliana and whom he even consulted for his horses. But her silly advice to give his horse cream and meat and the way she was invited to pray for the health of his eldest daughter while she needed surgery for appendicitis made him change his mind. When Juliana threatened to divorce him, the Greet Hofmans' affair started. He told a Dutch newspaper that the affair came at the right moment to distract the attention from his relationships with other women.

BEATRIX

Queen Beatrix is a powerful and dominating woman (yes, a queen:). Pluto is prominent in her chart. Pluto also means 'danger' sometimes (to life style or life itself). At age 17, with progressed Sun inconjunct Pluto, she participated in the drama between her parents (that could have forced her to become queen at 18) and suffered from the influence of the idea that praying helps to cure appendicitis. She was sent to the doctor in time, thanks to interference of her father.
The synergy between Hofmans' chart and the chart of Queen Beatrix is intense. Mars, Saturn and Pluto are linking their charts. This combination is a combination of danger.



PLUTO: TOO INTENSE
When Pluto is important in a relationship, often and soon the relationship is too intens and full of problems. Pluto's effect is transformational and strong. When the progressed Sun of Juliana shed light over the Pluto-MC combination with Hofmans, it was time for a vital change and a (forced upon) ending... A commission of wise men (...) advised the Queen to stop seeing her friend.

PS about Moon and UranusWith aspects between Moon and Uranus you long for sensation and excitement, like Schumacher does and like Peter R. de Vries or Theo van Gogh. With this aspect you have a sort of a 'foresight' and intuition. Sometimes people consider you to be a seer. At least you are special among the ones that surround you.
