Transit Neptune conjunct Ascendant (like Christina Aguilera)

Neptune crossed the Ascendant of Christina Aguilera when she started a relationship with a movie assistent and left her husband. That is what might happen when Transit Neptune is conjunct your Ascendant, because when Neptune is conjunct the Ascendant, Neptune is opposition the Descendant (the starting point of the house of marriage) and might drift you apart. Neptune conjunct the Ascendant introduces romance, affairs and the risk of addiction and changes your situation. You might be surrounded by frauds, liars, spies and gossip. With transits of Neptune it is very important to walk the right way and not get lost in the mist. Because only when the mist vanishes, you see where you went wrong. Is Neptune ever funny or making a person happy? Perhaps, if you need inspiration for a drama or a poem or if you want to escape from reality and every day dull life: take some Neptune!:) The transits of Neptune are very confusing and sometimes dissolving, however. Christina Aguilera just found out. For the second time in a few months time, someone published 'hot' pictures of her; stolen private pictures. And see what an amount of transits and progressions is accompanying this incident. I won't mention them all here (see bottom line).  I just like to mention that  Progressed Venus conjunct progressed Midheaven tells us that in the course of her life and career (progressions) Venus (the planet of love) is above all of importance for her destiny.

NEPTUNE, NATAL AND TRANSIT

Neptune is rising before and conjunct the Sun of Christina Aguilera (see the chart of Christina Aguilera above). That means that she is first of all interested in art, fantasy, romance, dreams, religion, movies, fiction and ideals: the complete Neptune vocabulary. Now that Neptune is in her first house this part of her personality has 'come out' and with that: her secrets, her pictures, her movies. And they are not common pictures, or else they were not worth that much:).


Astrologer Corn. Gorter said in ' Astrologische Chronologie' that too much sensitivity and a conflict between real life and fantasy is too be expected. That is too bad, but perhaps there is another way to see Neptune here. 


ARTIST
Neptune is not just weak. Neptune is strong in sacrifices and voluntary jobs and Neptune is part of the artistic pattern (consisting of Moon, Venus, Neptune, their signs and Midheaven). That is because there is no art without inspiration, fantasy and dreams. That pattern is also visible in Christina Alguilera's chart:

- Neptune is half semisquare Venus and 
- Neptune is (wide) biquintile Moon,
- Venus is quindecile Moon. 


Venus is the bridge between Moon and Neptune, Venus rules the Taurus Moon and Venus is ' calling' (no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees; the conjunction with Uranus is out of sign). Venus is even more 'calling' now that her position is on Midheaven in the progressed chart! Venus is the symbol of beauty, talent, entertainment and style. Venus is also the symbol of preferences, sympathies and love.

In Christina's chart we see, apart from the pattern of talent, a Golden Yod. Moon-Chiron, Neptune, Mercury, and Jupiter-Saturn are connected by quintiles and biquintiles, concentrating on the Taurus Moon, ruler of the 7th house of partnership and opposition Quaoar, symbol of creations and 'new realities'. The Moon is quindecile Venus for a strong focus on what people like. There is a strong creative pattern, and there is also Sun conjunct Neptune, rising just before the Sun. I wrote about Sun-Neptune before (here, and on Astromarkt) and one of the problems of this aspect combination is ' identity unsafe' (who am I, am I who they say I am?). Some actors and idols loose their true self and actually become the person they play in the movie or on stage. NEPTUNE-ASCENDANT
Neptune-Ascendant is frequent in the charts of divorced women (not necessarily their ' fault') , the charts of addicts and of those who hide something about their relationship. I know someone with Neptune-Ascendant who kept it a secret that her husband had an affair, just to keep up appearances (Capricorn, yeS!:). That means that you have to make up stories to explain all sort of strange things around you.Anyway, Neptune-Ascendant is also part of the charts of people who work in charity or who do voluntary jobs (and are being used by someone, in a way). And I watched Neptune-Ascendant in the charts of artists, of course. Maybe Neptune is also angular in the charts of sailors, but I don't have examples...;( Let's say that Neptune on the Ascendant brings empathy, fantasy, addiction and/or romance and sometimes arts and that the common factor is imagination. When you feel the pain of a victim, you imagine the pain (it is not yours) and when you help a person you do it because of something that you can't see or feel (and maybe even not smell): ideals. One of the personifications of Neptune is the romantic lover, your 'dream person'. 


Her transit Neptune on the Ascendant resonated an affair, with movies (Neptune!) and pictures (Neptune) and later the theft of secrets (Neptune!). It is the perfect description of the Neptune-effect. Secrets ' coming out' with Neptune on the Ascendant...Relationships gone, too...I am not looking forward to my transit Neptune in 2013!

MARRIAGE

But of course, it takes more than one transit to turn your world upside down.  In Aguilera's natal chart there are indications for divorce already. The elevated Venus conjunct Uranus (out of sign), for example…that is the aspect of sense of rhythm and pleasure in adventures. For women it is one of the 4 aspects that ‘help’ you on your way to divorce. Uranus is exactly square Ascendant, for upheavel and flashlight relationships. She also has Jupiter in the 7^th house of marriage (and Jupiter is the symbol of more…). And of course, she is rich and famous, a beauty and in the company of many persons like her. It takes a very strong love and marriage to stick together when Neptune comes to drift you apart. And there was no strong marriage. The Sun signs didn't match, her Mars square his and Venus offered no compensation.

Obama's inconjunct Neptune and how about you?

This post is about Obama (and you, of course). Two transits mirror the difficulties of today: Transit Uranus opposition progressive Sun and transit Neptune inconjunct progressed Sun. This post is more about the the inconjunction with Neptune. Here is his chart (natal, progressions and transits for today):

Problemous news is making Obama’s life hectic, even if he didn’t cause the problem, like now with the Gulf oil disaster.

Uranus is the symbol of news, the opposition is related to ‘ the others’ and the progressed Sun refers to life in progress. The transits and progressions show the problem: someone else caused an accident/incident and now he is nervous.

Transit Uranus has been opposition Obama’s progressed Sun in March.Transit Saturn will be conjunct his progressed Sun again in July. Then Transit Uranus comes back mid August and starting March of 2011. And if that is not enough, Neptune will be mirroring trouble from then on till after next elections.
Transit Neptune inconjunct Progressed Sun: that is the transit that won’t stop damaging the image of Barack Obama until February 2013. Again and again Neptune will catch up with the Progressed Sun or vice versa. The transit will start its ‘activities’ in March 2011, reflecting the ‘ fallen angel’ (and bad press). I have another one: it won't be easy to live up to the expectations (his and those of his fans and followers).

WHEN? CALCULATING YOU...
If your (progressed) Sun is in the 29th degree of Cancer or Virgo your (progressed or natal) Sun is inconjunct Neptune in June and July of this year 2010. In 2011 the transit comes back in January/February, and in the last four months. If you were born with Sun sesquisquare Neptune your progressed Sun will be inconjunct Neptune within 15 years. If you were born with Sun opposition Neptune your progressed Sun will be inconjunct Neptune within 30 years. With Sun tightly square Neptune in the natal chart, it will take about 60 years for the Sun to be semi sextile or inconjunct Neptune.

Your natal Sun is in the 29th degree of Cancer for those born around the 21st of July and in the 29th of Virgo for those born around the 21ste of September. Your progressed Sun is in the 29th degree of Virgo if you are 20 and born on September 1, for example. Just calculate your chart and progressions on Astro.com.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN? INTERPRETING YOU...
There is a difference in situation and condition that shows up with inconjunct Neptune, but you will always experience that your weaknesses show in a disproportionate way. If you are old, your health situation might suffer. If you were dating, you may experience disappointment after disappointment without understanding why: you are just overly negative and that shows…If you were an idol before, your weaknesses show and your admirers know. If you were not an idol, you might become one, suddenly, and be lost in the world of the media. Sun inconjunct Neptune shows that there is little proportion in his relationship with the media and in beliefs of all kinds (yours and others). Also, your lifestyle might not be in balance with his ideals or vice versa. You even might loose contact with reality (but only in extreme cases of course!). In other words: with Sun inconjunct Neptune you have to get real and give up some of your beliefs and ideals. For some of us that is reason for loosing grip. Others might find a new balance between real life and glorious dreams.

Is there anything good about Sun inconjunct Neptune? Yep. You may be negative and face disillusions about the real world, but you might also see that in order to realize a dream or live life the romantic/idealistic/artistic way you have to give up part of yourself and take care not to loose your you and your self image. It is difficult but essential to keep up the spirit and to believe in yourself (but facing reality, too). That is how I see it. And this aspect is of course more important when your Neptune is important, like in the chart of Obama, whose Neptune is on top and square natal Sun (and inconjunct the Sun of JFK, BTW).

Russell Crowe: hard to quit

What makes it so difficult for Russell Crowe to quit smoking?

1. His Sun is inconjunct Neptune in the natal chart (disbalance; the combination of the ‘ fallen angel” )

2. Neptune is ‘ calling’ (calling means: no major aspects in sign or 5d orb. This is an indication for fantasy AND addiction at any possible level and good for actors in movies and other artist or arts.)

3. Progressed Sun now quindecile Neptune for a strong focus on his weaknesses

The planet of illusions, addictions and weaknesses is ‘ calling’ him from the start, is debilitating his health and is now in the spotlights.

And that is without his hour of birth, so maybe there is more. How about progessed Sun conjunct Venus later this year? It mght bring him true love, life of luxury and peace (or fun): whatever he likes. So maybe if he starts liking to quit smoking…

Al and Tipper Gore are separating

On Asrology-love-romance.blogspot.com I wrote about the long lasting relationship between Al and Tipper Gore. They managed to stick together for decades, and now they have agreed to divorce! What transits and progressions accompany this decission? And what does this divorce say about indications in the natal chart?

TIPPER
When I wrote about Tipper, I hadn't 'discovered' Pholus, yet. Pholus (the symbol of the turning point) is in her 7th house. In her natal chart the rulers of 1 and 7 are in conflict and the ruler of the 7th house of marriage is semi square Venus in the 1st house. Those are indications for possible divorce.

Right now, Tipper's progressed Ascendant is opposition transit Neptune (to see her chart, scroll down). I have learned that it is rather difficult to really separate from a partner, when Neptune is involved (ties because of parenthood or other dependencies).

Neptune is also ' active' in Al Gore's chart right now (see later). Neptune is an important factor in the relationship between her chart and Al Gore's, too. I quote from Astrology & Love:

I read that they go to church each Sunday (if possible). Neptune is the symbol of ideology and religion. Perhaps the issue of sharing the same ideals is a hot item for the relationship. Life is not always a dream, but you can at least try to realise yours...perhaps that is the general idea of Sun-Neptune here.

AL GORE has a (wide) sesquisquare between Venus and Neptune and his progressed Venus is now square natal Neptune, with transit Neptune in the equal 7th house. Venus-Neptune is a romantic combination and often romance is sad. In a few cases Venus-Neptune refers to affairs. In a man's natal chart the Venus-Neptune affliction is one of the indications for a divorce. (This one proofs that the orb of a sesquisquare may be up to 2 degrees!)
Also, transit Pluto is now inconjunct his natal Ascendant (stressful situation, including a lost, a price to pay).

All in all they had 3 indications as a couple.

BTW The Gore's have stated that they grew apart and are separating on a friendly basis.

'Grey Owl' Archie Belaney and Neptune

Archibald Belaney pretended to be ‘ Grey Owl’, protected the environment (and beavers), fooled King George (even tapped him on his shoulder), was a bigamist and an alcoholic and died too young, 49 years old and disabled with progressed Sun square Saturn. Saturn is the first planet rising before his natal Sun, so that the progression resonated (hit harder). He was an author, too, btw.

I saw a little piece of an old documentary about his life and I immediately thought of Sun-Neptune. Then I had the chart calculated by Astro.com and I noticed that the Sun didn’t make any major aspects in sign o r orb 5 degrees (that can be interpreted as " drawing attention somehow" ). There was however a minor aspect between Sun and Neptune: 112.5 degrees (that is a square and a half semi square). Am I who I think that I am or am I who others say that I am, that is often the question with Sun-Neptune. In extreme cases life can be an act in itself. Archie Belaneuy was a fraud pur sang, no mistakes about that, with a double life. Minor aspects are often reflecting the less notioned characteristics of a person. It would be nice to have his hour of birth but I couldn’t find it on the internet.
